There are several choices for the correction of complex transposition of the great arteries and double outlet right ventricle not amenable to the Rastelli-type surgery, but outcome data are limited to small series. This study aims to report results after the aortic root translocation and en bloc rotation of the outflow tract procedures.This is a retrospective, multicentric, observational study. Clinical, anatomy, procedural, and detailed follow-up data (median, 4.43 years) were collected.A total of 70 patients (62.9% male; median age, 1 year; range 4 days to 12.4 years) were included: n = 43 in the aortic root translocation group and n = 27 in the en bloc rotation group. Those in the aortic root translocation group were older (P = .01) and more likely to have had previous procedures (P .0001), but cardiac anatomy was similar in both groups. Aortic root translocation and en bloc rotation early mortality (30 days) was similar (4.7% vs 3.7%, P = .8). Late survival and freedom from any cardiac reintervention were 92.7% and 16.9% at 15 years overall, respectively. Freedom from right ventricular outflow tract/conduit reintervention was better in the en bloc rotation group than in the aortic root translocation group (100% vs 24.5%, P = .0003), but more patients in the en bloc rotation group had moderate (or worse) aortic valve regurgitation during follow-up (16% vs 2.6%, P = .07).Both aortic root translocation and en bloc rotation are valuable surgical options for the treatment of complex transposition of the great arteries and double outlet right ventricle. In the en bloc rotation group, there was better freedom from right ventricular outflow tract reinterventions, but a higher probability of aortic valve regurgitation. Identifying the main driving forces for these observed differences requires further study of these procedures.

OBJECTIVES Cardiopulmonary bypass generates a systemic inflammatory response. This inflammatory response is reduced if patients are ventilated during bypass, as evidenced by lower levels of postoperative circulating inflammatory mediators. However, this does not appear to make much clinical difference in adults, at least not consistently, but, to our knowledge, has never been assessed in paediatric cardiac surgery, which is the objective of this study. METHODS This is a prospective clinical study of 12 consecutive neonates operated for the correction of either transposition of the great arteries ± ventricular septal defect or aortic arch hypoplasia ± ventricular septal defect, who were ventilated during cardiopulmonary bypass. These were compared to 11 neonates with the same malformations, who had undergone the same operations but without being ventilated during bypass (historical control group). RESULTS One patient from the control group died on the 15th postoperative day due to sepsis and multi-organ failure. Bypass times and cross-clamp times were similar in the 2 groups. Ventilation on bypass was associated with significantly lower postoperative serum concentrations of C-reactive protein, shorter mechanical ventilation and lower vasoactive-inotropic score. Duration of stay on intensive care unit (ICU) showed a tendency to be shorter in patients who were ventilated on bypass, but this did not reach statistical significance. There were no differences between the 2 groups with respect to postoperative mixed venous oxygen saturations and serum concentrations of lactate and troponin I. CONCLUSIONS Mechanical ventilation during cardiopulmonary bypass in neonates improves postoperative outcome.

Aim: To develop quercetin-loaded poly(caprolactone) (PCL)/soybean phosphatidylcholine (PC) films coated with silver (Ag) to prevent the formation of postoperative adhesions (POA). Materials & methods: Films were prepared using the solvent casting method, coated with Ag, and underwent in vitro tests. In vivo studies were conducted employing an animal model of sidewall defect and cecum abrasion. Results: Films showed sustained release behavior of quercetin and Ag. Coating films with Ag improved their antimicrobial activity. In vivo studies confirmed superior antiadhesion properties of films compared with the control groups evaluated by gross observation, histochemical staining and immunohistochemistry analyses. Conclusion: Ag-Q-PCL-PC films are a potential candidate to prevent POA by acting as a sustained release delivery system and physical barrier.

PurposeThis study was conducted to identify the challenges of talent management in the public education system and to provide the possibility of recommending strategies.MethodologyThe present study was qualitative and the statistical population included professors, specialists and experts in the field of talent management. The statistical sample consisted of 20 experts in the field of talent management and university professors who were purposefully selected and interviewed. Data collection tools were done through semi-structured interviews with 20 experts in education in Gilan in 2019, which after providing all the new ideas, by the interviewees to analyze the data and answer questions using a qualitative analysis method. The theme was used.FindingsThe results showed that there are 16 challenges in the public education system that hinders the effective efficiency of talent management in the body of education. Among these challenges are the application of personal opinion in evaluations and the lack of an appropriate motivational approach that was presented in the challenges of talent management in the education system, after description, comparison, analysis and interpretation.ConclusionAccording to the results of this study, the method of talent management in Gilan Education Organization is not accepted by any of the experts participating in the research and in terms of appropriate arrangements of this organization to address the challenges identified by this research, it seems necessary.

The dynamics of soil structure is caused by biotic and abiotic processes, with the onset and magnitude of deformation controlled by soil rheological and mechanical properties. Quantification of such properties is challenging because soil behaviour changes with soil moisture, but common rheological tests are not applicable over all consistency ranges. Here, we combine oscillation shear rheometry with spherical indentation mechanical measurements of soil to obtain greater characterization over a broader range of water contents. The elastic modulus could be measured with either approach, with good agreement found for measured silt and clay textured remoulded agricultural soils. For shear rheometry, plastic viscosity, complex modulus and shear yield stress were also obtained. The spherical indentation provided measurements of hardness and yield stress. Although yield stress was correlated between approaches, the values were orders of magnitude greater for the indenter (0.54 +/- 0.33 kPa vs. 34.4 +/- 31.2 kPa), presumably because of different loading and failure conditions. At drier water contents, yield stress varied more between the two tests on the clay soil, which corresponded with brittle fracture creating artefacts in shear rheometry measurements. Spherical indentation has not been widely applied to the testing of soils, but the good agreement over a wide water content range between elastic modulus obtained from spherical indentation measurements (0.66 +/- 0.27 MPa in wetter zone to 4.45 +/- 2.53 MPa in drier zone) and shear rheometry (0.47 +/- 0.11 MPa in wetter zone to 2.02 +/- 0.98 MPa in drier zone) is promising. Moreover, spherical indentation can be applied to materials varying from brittle to viscous and allows testing on structurally intact soil aggregates. The geometry of a spherical indenter may more closely mimic contacting soil aggregates, so scope exists to extend the approach to explore the slumping of aggregated seedbeds produced by tillage.

Introduction. The importance of women’s health and the quality of life after menopause is a critical issue. To prevent disability and menopause complications as well as avoid the side effects of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), in this study, licorice hydroalcoholic extract (Glycyrrhiza uralensis roots) was evaluated as a natural remedy. Methods. Seventy-two female Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into six groups: control group, Sham-operated group, Glycyrrhiza (Gly) 30% group, and ovariectomized group as well as two ovariectomized groups treated with Gly 10% and Gly 30%. Normal saline and different treatments were administered orally for 8 weeks. At the end of the study, calcium, alkaline phosphatase, estrogen, and progesterone levels in the ovariectomized rats were determined. Moreover, the stereological and histopathological changes in uterine tissue in all groups were determined. Phytochemical analyses were also performed to determine the total phenolic content and antioxidant potential of the extract. Result. The hydroalcoholic extract of licorice root exhibited considerable effect to improve calcium, estrogen, and progesterone levels in the ovariectomized rats. Also, hydroalcoholic extract of licorice root successfully decreases the amount of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) level. The stereological and histopathological findings confirmed the therapeutic potential of this extract. The considerable effects of hydroalcoholic extract of licorice root could be due to high amounts of phytoestrogens with similar estrogen-like structures. Considerable total phenolic content and antioxidant activity were also seen in licorice root extract. Conclusion. Hydroalcoholic extract of licorice root due to containing high amounts of phytoestrogens with similar chemical structures to estradiol notably improves biochemical parameters as well as stereological and histopathological markers of uterine tissues in ovariectomy rats, so it could be a potential agent for prevention and/or treatment as hormone replacement therapy in healthy middle-aged and/or older women.

Background The right and left lung anatomy are similar but asymmetrical. The right lung consists of three lobes, and the left lung consists of two lobes. Our study is unique because of discovering a very rare morphological feature of the left lung which has not been reported yet. By the way, we compared two different available chemical agents for pleurodesis (talc and bleomycin) according to side effects, complications, and pneumothorax recurrence. Case presentation We reported a case of bilateral primary spontaneous pneumothorax, who underwent talc slurry and bleomycin pleurodesis at right and left side retrospectively, and then complicate with left-sided recurrent spontaneous pneumothorax, so underwent open thoracotomy and was surprisingly and accidentally found to have 4 lobes and 3 fissures in left lung. Conclusion In our case report, there were one main oblique fissure and two accessory fissures which divided the lung into 4 separated lobes, and this discovery in human’s and other animals’ lung anatomy has not been previously reported. In our case study, the talc slurry was more effective in preventing spontaneous pneumothorax recurrence, but with more side effects than bleomycin. We could hypothesize that the morphological variation of the lung might affect spontaneous pneumothorax development and recurrence.

Surgery for tetralogy of Fallot has a long history, which may be described as both a success story and a failure story. It is a success story because prognosis without surgery is very poor, but surgery makes it possible for affected babies to reach adulthood and lead productive lives. It is a failure story, however, since we still cannot cure this condition; we can only palliate it as illustrated in the sobering long-term outcome of affected patients. In this review article, we aim to explore the reason for this failure. This may be summed up in terms of the nature of the obstruction to the right ventricular outflow tract, which characterizes this malformation and must be relieved. This obstruction has several possible components, but none may be eliminated without harming the ventricle. There seems to be no 'extra' muscle band in tetralogy of Fallot that may be dispensed with without undermining ventricular function; every muscle band that is there should be there, just like in the normal heart, except that these are thicker than normal and somewhat displaced in tetralogy of Fallot, thus narrowing the right ventricular outflow tract. Consequently, ventricular function deteriorates with every muscle band that is cut, just like in the normal heart. We have to harm the heart in order to repair it. Every repaired Fallot is inevitably a damaged heart. Consequently, repair of this condition cannot be curative at present; it is palliative surgery.

We studied 5-year relative survival (RS) for 14 leading cancer sites in the population-based cancer registry (PBCR) of Golestan province in the northeastern part of Iran.We followed patients diagnosed in 2007-2012 through data linkage with different databases, including the national causes of death registry and vital statistics office. We also followed the remaining patients through active contact. We used relative survival (RS) analysis to estimate 5-year age-standardized net survival for each cancer site. Multiple Imputation (MI) method was performed to obtain vital status for loss to follow-up (LTFU) cases.We followed 6910 cancer patients from Golestan PBCR. However, 2162 patients were loss to follow-up. We found a higher RS in women (29.5%, 95% CI, 27.5, 31.7) than men (21.0%, 95% CI, 19.5, 22.5). The highest RS was observed for breast cancer in women (RS=49.8%, 95% CI, 42.2, 56.9) and colon cancer in men (RS=37.9%, 95% CI, 31.2, 44.6). Pancreatic cancer had the lowest RS both in men (RS= 8.7%, 95% CI, 4.1, 13.5) and women (RS= 7.9%, 95% CI, 5.0, 10.8) CONCLUSION: Although the 5-year cancer survival rates were relatively low in the Golestan province, there were distinct variations by cancer site. Further studies are required to evaluate the survival trends in Golestan province over time and compare them with the rates in the neighboring provinces and other countries in the region.

Psoas muscle hematoma is defined as a spontaneous or traumatic retroperitoneal collection of blood involving the psoas muscle. Early symptoms of an iliopsoas hematoma include lower abdominal or severe groin pain. Although psoas hematoma is a known complication of coagulopathy, psoas hematoma caused by non-penetrating trauma is the subject of only scattered reports and its significance has not been well described in the literature, so the aim of this study was to report a case of blunt traumatic psoas hematoma with the fracture of vertebral transverse process with the presentation of gross hematuria. A 65-year-old Iranian man slipped backward to the ground, and the patient complaint of gross hematuria and difficulty in walking. There was severe left costo-vertebral angle (CVA) tenderness, and mild groin tenderness, and the lower back area was painful, and he had some pain with the flexion of the vertebral column, and there was tenderness on lumbar spine, but there was no tingling, paresthesia, and weakness in left lower extremity. Hip flexion was 3/5 in the left lower. We used some diagnostic modalities as x-ray radiography, ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT) scan with intravenous (IV) contrast, CT cystography, and intravenous pyelogram (IVP) IVP to differentiate the diagnoses and also find skeletal and other organ injuries associated with this kind of injury. We can conclude that post-traumatic psoas hematoma is a rare condition. The diagnostic modality of choice is CT scan which allows rapid identification and measurement of the hematoma. The lesion usually treated with non-operative conservative management.

Prevalence and prognostic significance of pulmonary artery (PA) dilatation in congenital heart disease (CHD) have never been studied systematically.Chest X-rays of 1192 consecutive adults with CHD were reviewed. Major diameter of the PA was determined by imaging techniques in those with PA dilatation. A value29 mm was considered abnormal. Data on anatomy, hemodynamics, residual lesions and outcomes were retrospectively collected.Overall prevalence of PA dilatation was 18%. A minority of patients (5.5%) reached 40 mm (aneurysm; PAA) and 1.8% exceeded 50 mm. The most common PAA underlying malformations were pulmonary stenosis (21%), and shunts (55%). Significantly larger diameters were observed in hypertensive shunts (40 mm; IQR 36.7-45 mm vs. 34 mm; IQR 32-36 mm) (p 0.0001). However, the largest diameters were found in cono-truncal anomalies. There was no significant correlation between PA dimensions and systolic pulmonary pressure (r = -0.196), trans-pulmonary gradient (r = -0.203), pulmonary regurgitation (PR) (r = 0.071) or magnitude of shunt (r = 0.137) (p 0.05 for all). Over follow-up, 1 sudden death (SD) occurred in one Eisenmenger patient. Complications included coronary (3), recurrent laryngeal nerve (1) and airway (1) compressions, progressive PR (1), and PA thrombosis (1). Coronary compression and SD were strongly associated (univariate analysis) with pulmonary hypertension (120 vs. 55 mm Hg; p = 0.002) but not with extreme PA dilatation (range: 40-65 mm).PA dilatation in CHD is common but only a small percentage of patients have PAA. Clinical impact on outcomes is low. Complications occurred almost exclusively in patients with pulmonary hypertension whereas PA diameter alone was not associated with adverse outcomes.

Objective An important aspect of perioperative care in pediatric cardiac surgery is maintenance of optimal hemodynamic status using vasoactive/inotropic agents. Conventionally, this has focused on maintenance of cardiac output rather than perfusion pressure. However, this approach has been abandoned in our center in favor of one focusing primarily on perfusion pressure, which is presented here and compared to the conventional approach. Design A retrospective study. Setting Regional center for congenital heart disease. University Hospital of Lausanne, Switzerland. Patients All patients with Aristotle risk score ≥8 that underwent surgery from 1996 to 2012 were included. Patients operated between 1996 and 2005 (Group 1: 206 patients) were treated according to the conventional approach. Patients operated between 2006 and 2012 (Group 2: 217 patients) were treated according to our new approach. Interventions All patients had undergone surgery for correction or palliation of congenital cardiac defects. Outcome measurements Mortality, duration of ventilation and inotropic treatment, use of ECMO, and complications of poor peripheral perfusion (need for hemofiltration, laparotomy for enterocolitis, amputation). Liposomes, lipid-based vesicular systems, have attracted major interest as a means to improve drug delivery to various organs and tissues in the human body. Recent literature highlights the benefits of liposomes for use as drug delivery systems, including encapsulating of both hydrophobic and hydrophilic cargos, passive and active targeting, enhanced drug bioavailability and therapeutic effects, reduced systemic side effects, improved cargo penetration into the target tissue and triggered contents release. Pioneering work of liposomes researchers led to introduction of long-circulating, ligand-targeted and triggered release liposomes, as well as, liposomes containing nucleic acids and vesicles containing combination of cargos. Altogether, these findings have led to widespread application of liposomes in a plethora of areas from cancer to conditions such as cardiovascular, neurologic, respiratory, skin, autoimmune and eye disorders. There are numerous review articles on the application of liposomes in treatment of cancer, which seems the primary focus, whereas other diseases also benefit from liposome-mediated treatments. Therefore, this article provides an illustrated detailed overview of liposomal formulations, in vitro characterization and their applications in different disorders other than cancer. Challenges and future directions, which must be considered to obtain the most benefit from applications of liposomes in these disorders, are discussed.

Background: Thyroid cancer is the most common type of endocrine cancer. We aimed to determine the incidence rates of thyroid cancer across a 10-year period (2004-2013) in Golestan, Iran. Methods: We obtained the thyroid cancer data from Golestan Population-Based Cancer Registry (GPCR). Age-standardized incidence rates (ASR) were calculated and reported per 100000 person-years. The Joinpoint software was used to assess time trends, and average annual percent changes (AAPCs) and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were reported. Results: Of 326 registered patients, 83 (25.5%) were men and 243 (74.5%) were women. The mean age was 51.3 and 42.6 years for males and females, respectively. Overall, the ASR of thyroid cancer was 2.2 per 100000 person-year (AAPC = 2.76; 95% CI: -3.68 to 9.64). The test of co-incidence showed a statistically significant difference in the incidence of thyroid cancer between men (1.3) and women (3.2) (P < 0.001). According to our results, the ASR of thyroid cancer in western parts of Golestan is higher, including Gorgan and Aliabad cities. Conclusion: Increasing trends in incidence rates of thyroid cancer were found in the Golestan province during the study period, especially in women. We found significantly higher rates of thyroid cancer in women. Geographical diversities were seen in incidence rates of thyroid cancer in the Golestan province. Our results may be helpful for designing further researches to investigate the epidemiological aspects of thyroid cancer in the Golestan province.

The left atrioventricular valve in atrioventricular septal defect is conventionally repaired by suturing the "cleft." This can be complicated with stretching or dehiscence of the sutured zone by naturally diverging cordal traction and stenosis by restricting leaflet mobility. This complication prompted us to develop a different approach, especially for adults and adolescents, who might have undergone surgical repair previously. The technique consists of not closing or reopening the cleft, constructing neocordae connecting the cordless edge of each bridging leaflet to the opposite papillary muscle-that is, the papillary muscle to which it has no natural connection ("crossing neocordae")-and inserting an annuloplasty ring.

The supraventricular crest known by its various names is a distinct muscular structure in the normal right ventricle connecting the upper part of the septum to the parietal wall. Its arrangement is disturbed in hearts with tetralogy of Fallot resulting in different names given to its parts. Nevertheless, being comparable location wise to normal implies it has a similar role in the function of the right ventricular and tricuspid valve. Surgical resection of the crest to relief stenosis in tetralogy of Fallot merits reconsideration.

Alkyl 2-(alkylamino)-3-(quinolin-2-yl)indolizine-1-carboxylates were prepared by1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides with phosphorylated hydroxyketenimines, generated in situ by a Nef isocyanide–Perkow cascade.

Objectives The morphologically right and left ventricles are distinguished from each other based on their internal anatomical features, because their external (epicardial) surfaces do not appear to have any distinguishing mark for such ventricular identification. Nevertheless, ventricular identification based on epicardial characteristics, if these were possible, would be interesting to surgeons, because this would enable them to identify each ventricle rapidly upon opening the chest. This made us curious as to whether or not the two ventricles may be distinguished based on their epicardial coronary arterial patterns, because this is the most obvious epicardial ventricular feature. Methods This idea led us to formulate the following 2 hypotheses: (i) The morphologically left ventricle is always the one that receives the higher number of the marginal arteries as compared to the morphologically right ventricle. (ii) Only the morphologically left ventricle receives the diagonal arteries from the anterior and posterior interventricular arteries. These hypotheses were tested in this anatomical observational study by examination of 98 normal and 398 congenitally malformed formaldehyde-preserved hearts encompassing most malformations, including rare ones and hearts in which 1 ventricle is hypoplastic. Results These examinations show that both hypotheses are false. Conclusions The two ventricles cannot be distinguished from each other based on the number of marginal arteries that they receive or which one receives diagonal arteries; both ventricles may receive diagonal arteries from either or both interventricular arteries.

Objective Congenital cardiac malformations with high pulmonary blood flow and pressure due to left-to-right shunts are usually repaired in early infancy for both the benefits of early relief of heart failure and the fear that the concomitant pulmonary hypertension may become irreversible unless these defects are corrected at an early age. Age, however, has been a poor predictor of irreversibility of pulmonary hypertension in our experience, which is presented here. Design A retrospective observational study. We defined “late” as age ≥2 years. We examined clinical, echocardiographic, and hemodynamic data from all patients aged ≥2 years with such malformations referred to us from 2004 untill 2015. Setting Department of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, University Hospital of Vaud, Lausanne, Switzerland. Patients There were 39 patients, aged 2–35 years (median: 5 years), without chromosomal abnormalities. All had malformations amenable to biventricular repair, and all had high systolic right ventricular pressures by echocardiography prior to referral. Interventions All patients underwent catheterization for assessment of pulmonary hypertension. If this was reversible, surgical correction was offered. Outcome measures (1) Operability based on reversibility of pulmonary hypertension. (2) When surgery was offered, mortality and evidence of persisting postoperative pulmonary hypertension were examined. Results Eighteen patients had no pulmonary hypertension, 5 of variable ages were inoperable due to irreversible pulmonary hypertension, and 16 had reversible pulmonary hypertension. Therefore, 34 patients underwent corrective surgery, with no immediate or late mortality. Pulmonary arterial and right ventricular pressures decreased noticeably in all operated patients. This is sustained to date; they are all asymptomatic with no echocardiographic evidence of pulmonary hypertension at a median follow-up of 7 years (range 2–13 years). Conclusions Pulmonary hypertension may still be reversible in many surprisingly old patients with left-to-right shunt lesions, who may therefore still be operable.

The addition of phenols to styrene to form ortho and para-(1-phenylethyl) phenols was catalysed by a range of metal oxide nanoparticles supported on mesoporous aluminosilicates (M/Al-SBA-15 catalysts) under microwave irradiation. Moderate to excellent yields to products could be obtained at short times of reaction (typically 10 min). 0.5%Fe/Al-SBA-15 as readily available, environmentally friendly and cheap catalysts exhibited remarkable improvements in yield as compared to the majority of utilized catalysts. The heterogeneous catalyst can be reused at least three times without a significant loss in activity.

A novel transformation involving phosphinediazo ester zwitterions (generated from dialkyl azodicarboxylates with Ph3P) and α-(alkoxycarbonyl)imidoyl chlorides (prepared from α-addition of acyl chlorides to alkyl isocyanides) to afford dialkyl 2-[3-alkoxy-1-(alkylimino)-1-chloro-3-oxopropan-2-ylidene]hydrazine-1,1-dicarboxylates in moderate yields, is described.

Objectives To evaluate whether three-dimensional (3D) printed models can be used to improve interventional simulation and planning in patients with aortic arch hypoplasia. Background: Stenting of a hypoplastic transverse arch is technically challenging, and complications such as stent migration and partial obstruction of the origin of the head and neck vessels are highly dependent on operator skills and expertise. Methods: Using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data, a 3D model of a repaired aortic coarctation of a 15-year-old boy with hypoplastic aortic arch was printed. Simulation of the endovascular stenting of the hypoplastic arch was carried out under fluoroscopic guidance in the 3D printed model, and subsequently in the patient. A Bland–Altman analysis was used to evaluate the agreement between measurements of aortic diameter in the 3D printed model and the patient's MRI and X-ray angiography. Results: The 3D printed model proved to be radio-opaque and allowed simulation of the stenting intervention. The assessment of optimal stent position, size, and length was found to be useful for the actual intervention in the patient. There was excellent agreement between the 3D printed model and both MRI and X-ray angiographic images (mean bias and standard deviation of 0.36 ± 0.45 mm). Conclusions: 3D printed models accurately replicate patients' anatomy and are helpful in planning endovascular stenting in transverse arch hypoplasia. This opens a door for potential simulation applications of 3D models in the field of catheterization and cardiovascular interventions. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

A novel iodine-mediated reaction of 2,6-dimethylquinoline with Knoevenagel condensation products of malononitrile with benzaldehydes, leading to a facile, one-pot synthesis of 2-aryl-3-(6-methylquinolin-2-yl)cyclopropane-1,1-dicarbonitriles, in moderate to good yields, is described.

Imidoyl chlorides, generated from isocyanides and acyl chlorides, react with trialkyl phosphites, in a Perkow-type reaction, to afford 3-(alkylimino)-2-[(dialkyloxyphosphoryl)oxy]acrylates, which undergo a smooth reaction with tosylmethyl isocyanide (TsMIC) to furnish 4-(alkylamino)-3-[(dialkyloxyphosphoryl)oxy]-5-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]-3H-pyrrole-3-carboxylates in moderate-to-good yields.

Supported Co3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) on Al-SBA-15 were synthesized by means of a mechanochemical protocol, to yield catalytically active materials in the microwave (MW)-assisted selective oxidation of benzyl alcohols to their corresponding aldehydes, using hydrogen peroxide as green oxidant. The catalysts were found to be relatively stable upon reutilization under the investigated conditions.
