This paper presents a platform providing a digital census of copies of a limited number of printed editions and mapping their owners and readers' annotations represented in an RDF framework. Its ResearchSpace instance, magnetic-margins.com, provides interactive statistical analyses of the data that is encoded predominantly using CIDOC-CRM and FRBRoo.

Derzeit ist die Entwicklung einer neuartigen Form von Spielturnieren, den Dodgeball-Turnieren, beobachtbar. Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit dieser neuen Form der besonderen Inszenierung eines Wettkampfes, bei dem Erwachsene in ihrer Freizeit am Wochenende in phantasievoll kreierten Kostümen in Teams gegeneinander antreten und der US-amerikanischen Version des deutschsprachig weit verbreiteten wie auch oft diskutierten Völkerballspiels nachzukommen. Um einen Einblick in dieses neue Spielturnier-Phänomen zu gewinnen, wird eine qualitative ethnographische Studie durchgeführt. Unter Einsatz der empirischen Methode der teilnehmenden Beobachtung bei mehreren Dodgeball-Events in Österreich sowie mehreren Leitfadeninterviews mit Teilnehmenden wie auch OrganisatorInnen der Turniere sollen Teilnahmemotivationen, Zusammenstellungen sowie Benennung der Teams, Ziele der Team-Kostümierung etc. untersucht werden. Die Beobachtungen und Interviewaufnahmen werden transkribiert, offen codiert und in Kategorien geordnet. Die konkrete Fragestellung liegt darin zu untersuchen, wie sich die SpielerInnen untereinander organisieren, wie es einerseits zur scheinbar vor allem in Österreich populären Kostümierung kommt und andererseits welche Bedeutung diese auf das Sporttreiben und den Event selbst hat. Zusätzlich stellt sich die Frage, ob es sich bei den Turnieren tatsächlich um Sport per Definition handelt – oder aber ob hier eine völlig neue Form des (organisierten) Spiel-Sports entsteht. Es wird sich zeigen, dass die in Österreich gespielte Form von Dodgeball viele altbewährte Merkmale der großen Sportspiele aufweist, andererseits aber auch unzählige Aspekte neuartiger Bewegungsformen beinhaltet, die zur heutigen Lebensweise von jungen Erwachsenen im vorranging urbanen Raum passen. Die vorliegende Untersuchung zum Thema Dodgeball ist die erste ihrer Art und die Studie besitzt somit Pilotcharakter – und muss auch als solche angesehen werden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen jedoch bereits deutliche Tendenzen bezüglich des „neuen Spiel-Sport-Phänomens“ Dodgeball“ und lassen klare Aussagen über die Charakteristik des Spiels und seiner Events zu – auch mit Bezugnahme auf traditionelle Spielsport-Formen., The present MA thesis discusses current developments in dodgeball games, in particular focussing on how this simple children’s game became an adult pastime. In recent years, dodgeball has become increasingly popular among grown-ups who invest considerable amounts of time (and money) to compete with other teams that are similarly well-prepared by, e.g., wearing custom-made jerseys. In principle, dodgeball is quite similar to Völkerball, yet its Anglo-American counterpart is fast gaining prominence in continental Europe. In order to further our understanding of this new phenomenon, I have conducted a qualitative ethnographic study. Methodically, my results are derived from participant observation, which led me to both observe and analyse a number of dodgeball events in Austria as well as conduct a number of semi-structured interviews with the organisers. My study’s overall aim is to investigate certain key aspects such as participant motivation, the composition of the participating teams, their jerseys, etc. In the style of grounded theory, all data, including the interviews, were transcribed and categorised. My study’s central research question is how the players/participants organise themselves, with particular emphasis resting on the Austrian dodgeball scene’s vibrant jersey culture. Additional aims are to find out how this jersey culture reflects—and influences—both game and the larger events accompanying individual dodgeball matches. In combination, this begs the crucial question whether or not these dodgeball tournaments are, in fact, a kind of sports, or if we are witnessing the emergence of a new kind of (organised) game-cum-sports characteristics. I demonstrate that the dodgeball versions played in Austria incorporate many traditional features of other sports, however, that there are also countless additional aspects, which relate much more to other forms of physical activities that are rather typical among young, urban adults. My study of the Austrian dodgeball scene is the first of its kind and as such may be characterised as a pioneer study whose findings may soon become subject to differing views and change. These factors notwithstanding, the results underscore dodgeball’s game-cum-sports characteristics, which in turn relate to three different yet interrelated aspects: First, the game itself; second, the vibrant event culture surrounding the game; and, third, in dodgeball’s relationships to other, established and traditional sports.

Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit den Erfolgen und erbrachten Leistungen österreichischer und Schweizer SportlerInnen bei Olympischen Sommerspielen von 1948 bis 2012. Die Leistungsbilanzen der beiden mitteleuropäischen Staaten bei siebzehn Austragungen werden miteinander verglichen und in einen internationalen Kontext gestellt. Für einen gesamtheitlichen Vergleich der Länder Österreich und Schweiz werden neben den sportlichen Leistungen zudem die Sportstrukturen und Sportkulturen beider Nationen vor- und gegenüber gestellt. Darüber hinaus erfolgen eine Darrstellung der Sportgeschichte der Länder und deren Auswirkungen auf sportliche Leistung. Unter Berücksichtigung der genannten Faktoren werden die Leistungsbilanzen bei Olympischen Sommerspielen seit Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges analysiert. Um eine detaillierte Analyse zu ermöglichen, werden zudem neben den gewonnenen Medaillen auch alle Top-8-Rangierungen bei den jeweiligen Austragungen herangezogen. Die Vergabe von Rangpunkte für sämtliche Finalplätze der SportlerInnen beider Länder führt zu einer genaueren Leistungsanalyse, als diese rein durch die gerade von Medien herangezogenen Medaillenbilanzen realisierbar wäre. Es zeigt sich, dass Schweizer SportlerInnen über die vergangenen 70 Jahre in nahezu allen Belangen wesentlich erfolgreicher abgeschnitten und im Vergleich zu Österreichs Aktiven die deutlich besseren Leistungen erbracht haben., The following thesis discusses the successes and achievements of Austrian and Swiss athletes in the Olympic Summergames between 1948 and 2012. Thereby the track record of these two central European states are compared and analyzed in an international context. For a comprehensive comparison of Austria and Switzerland, the sport-structure and culture are presented and contrasted. Furthermore, a review of the sportive history of both countries is given and the effects on athletic achievements described. In order to allow for a detailed analysis, not only the medals won, but also all top 8 rankings in the respective games will be discussed. The award of ranking-points for placesin a so-called 'final' enables an exacter performance analysis, than would be possibleby merely drawing on media-analysis. It will be shown that Swiss athletes have achieved far better results in nearly all areas over the past 70 years than Austrian athletes and provide reasons for why this may be the case. To conclude it will be analyzed how this situation may be improved.

The time-dependent dielectric breakdown (TDDB) in on-chip interconnect stacks is one of the most critical failure mechanisms for microelectronic devices. The aggressive scaling of feature sizes, both on devices and interconnects, leads to serious challenges to ensure the required product reliability. Standard reliability tests and post-mortem failure analysis provide only limited information about the physics of failure mechanisms and degradation kinetics. Therefore it is necessary to develop new experimental approaches and procedures to study the TDDB failure mechanisms and degradation kinetics in particular. In this paper, an in situ experimental methodology in the transmission electron microscope (TEM) is demonstrated to investigate the TDDB degradation and failure mechanisms in Cu/ULK interconnect stacks. High quality imaging and chemical analysis are used to study the kinetic process. The in situ electrical test is integrated into the TEM to provide an elevated electrical field to the dielectrics. Electron tomography is utilized to characterize the directed Cu diffusion in the insulating dielectrics. This experimental procedure opens a possibility to study the failure mechanism in interconnect stacks of microelectronic products, and it could also be extended to other structures in active devices.

The time dependent dielectric breakdown (TDDB) in copper/ultra-low-k on-chip interconnect stacks of integrated circuits has become one of the most critical reliability concerns in recent years. In this paper, a novel experimental in situ microscopy approach using transmission X-ray microscopy (TXM) and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) is proposed to study TDDB degradation and failure mechanisms. It combines electrical testing and imaging techniques. Low-dose bright field (BF) STEM inserting a small condenser aperture is chosen to reduce the beam damage of the dielectric material, while the electron spectroscopic imaging technique is used for the chemical analysis to detect the migration path of Cu atoms. This new experimental approach will contribute to an improved understanding of the TDDB effect.
