A new multi-point inflow pre-anoxic/oxic/anaerobic/anoxic/oxic (A1/O2/A3/A4/O5) sludge-membrane coupling process and pilot plant were developed and designed to solve the problem of nitrogen and phosphorus removal of low carbon and nitrogen (C/N) ratio domestic sewage in southern China. The removal effect and transformation rule of organic matter, nitrogen, and phosphorus in the system were studied by changing the distribution ratio of multi-point influent. The average C/N ratio of the influent was 2.09 and the influent distribution ratio was 1:1. When the temperature was 16–25 °C, the average concentrations of chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonia nitrogen (NH4+- N), total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP) in the effluent were 21.31 (±2.65), 0.60 (±0.24), 12.76 (±1.09), and 0.34 (±0.05) mg/L, respectively, and their average removals are 87.3 (±1.2)%, 98.7 (±0.4)%, 74.1 (±1.3)%, and 88.1 (±0.4)% respectively. When the low temperature was 12–15 °C, the average removals were 78.6 (±1.1)%, 90.5 (±1.3)%, 73.7 (±1.13)%, and 86.6 (±1.7)%, respectively. Compared with the traditional anaerobic/anoxic/aerobic (A2O) process under the same conditions, the TN removal was increased by 15.4%, and the TP removal was increased by 22.2%. This system has obvious advantages in treating wastewater with low C/N ratio, thereby solving the problem wherein the effluent of biological phosphorus removal from low C/N ratio domestic sewage was difficult when it was lower than 0.5 mg/L.

Shenfu bituminous coal (SFBC), Geting coal (GTC), Shengli lignite (SLL), and Holingola coal (HLGLC) were oxidized by UV light radiation with aqueous H2O2 over SFC/TiO2 in a closed suspension system (CSS) to understand structural characteristics of 4 typical Chinese coals. Raw and oxidized coals were dried and extracted with acetone thoroughly to ensure residue extraction. Meanwhile, the extracts were analyzed using a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer. The results show that organic matters (OMs) in coals can be converted into a large number of oxygen-containing organic compounds (OCOCs), mainly containing ketones, esters, alcohols, etc. Oxidizing species such as hydroxyls, hydroperoxyl, and alkyl radicals are excited by light irradiation and substitute for hydrogen atoms of methyls and methylenes of acenes or branched-chain alkanes in coals. Acetic acid and acetaldehyde can be formed and dissolved in aqueous solution in the oxidation reaction. The yields can be improved with the enhancement of the oxidation effect.

A growing number of studies have shown that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) widely participate in the process of osteogenic differentiation of stem cells, regulate the proliferation and apoptosis of a variety of stem cells and osteoblasts, and play an important role in maintaining the balance of bone metabolism. LncRNA H19 regulates the expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) as upstream gene or through direct adsorption, changes the expressions of osteogenic differentiation related genes (RUNX2, OCN, etc.) via Wnt/β-catenin, transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) and Notch signal transduction pathways, and consequently adjusts the process of bone formation. This paper reviews some research progress on the effect of lncRNA H19 on bone diseases, which may help to understand the function and mechanism of lncRNA H19 in regulating the occurrence and development of bone diseases and provide more reliable theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of bone metabolism related diseases.

Background: This study will aim to assess the effectiveness of Mozart's Music (MM) for the management of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). Methods: In this study, we will search MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CINAHL, Chinese Scientific Journal Database Information, WANGFANG, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure from their inauguration to March 1, 2020 without language and publication time restrictions. We will also identify other literature resources, such as reference lists of any related reviews. Trial quality will be examined by Cochrane risk of bias tool; reporting bias will be identified by a funnel plot and Egger test; and statistical analysis will be undertaken by RevMan 5.3 software. Results: This study will summarize high quality randomized controlled trials to appraise the effectiveness and safety of MM for the treatment of patients with DRE. Conclusions: The findings of this study will supply evidence to judge whether MM is effective on DRE at evidence-based medicine level. Study registration number: CRD42020170512.

Background Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a major health concern associated with blocked arteries at the base of the brain. The aim of this study will synthesize the current evidence of the efficacy and safety of extracranial-intracranial bypass (EIB) for the treatment of adult patients with MMD. Methods A systematically and comprehensively literature search will be performed in PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, CENTRAL, CINAHL, AMED, CBM, and CNKI to identify relevant randomized controlled trails (RCTs) investigating the efficacy and safety of EIB for treating MMD. We will search all above electronic databases from their inception to the July 30, 2019. Two review authors will independently perform study selection, data extraction, and conduct risk of bias evaluation using Cochrane risk of bias tool. We will also explore heterogeneity across studies. RevMan 5.3 software will be applied for statistical analysis performance. Results This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of EIB for the treatment of adult patients with MMD. Conclusion The results of this study will provide latest evidence of the efficacy and safety of EIB for MMD. Dissemination and ethics This study is based on published studies, thus, no ethical consideration is needed. The results of this study are expected to be published in peer-reviewed journals or will be presented on conference meeting.Systematic review registration: PROSPERO CRD42019155839.

The model of a thin-walled pipeline with penetration crack was built using the software of ANSYS; the model was meshed with shell elements and the singular point was set. As per the results of stress analysis, using the general post processor of ANSYS, the stress intensity factor was calculated based on the plane displacement extrapolation method and the result was compared with that calculated according to the theoretical formula. The characteristic dimension of the crack-tip plastic zone was calculated according to the numerical simulation and theoretical formula respectively. Results showed that the method for building the thin-walled pipeline model with penetration crack and analysis provided in this paper could accurately describe the crack-tip stress and strain field and thus widely be used for the failure analysis of pressure pipelines.

In this study, three-dimensional mechanical model of the perforated casing was simplified as flat plate mechanical model. The theoretical equation for the calculation of collapsing strength factor for a perforated casing under squeeze was derived as per elasticity theory. Three-dimensional FEM model of a perforated casing was built using ANSYS and analysis was performed. The stress concentration factor (SCF) was discussed for perforated casing in this paper and the effects of aperture on SCFs were analyzed in detail.

A new method is proposed to calculate the load on a specimen during a fatigue failure using a post-mortem analysis of the fracture surfaces. This method uses the fracture-surface topography analysis to infer the plastic strains that have developed during the failure. That is, based on the previously proposed simple bar hypothesis, the fracture surfaces can be assumed to be composed of independent rectangular bars. After dividing the plastic deformation into single bars, the original lengths of these bars are calculated and then the global strains of these bars during the course of failure are calculated. According to the relationship between true stress and true strain for the material, the normal stress on the cross section of each bar is determined. Adding all loads on all bars together provides the total applied load of the specimen. As illustrations, the method is applied to fracture surfaces obtained from double-edge notched specimens made of two kinds of metallic alloy, broken under low-cycle fatigue. Results show that the calculated maximum fatigue load is almost equal to that recorded during testing.

In order to decrease the pollution to sea water during the course of oil and water replacement, oil and water separating membrane will be adopted. Considering the expansion and contraction of oil and water separating membrane, transmission of wave pressure and the density difference between the oil and water, the membrane may be damaged by tension, buckling, friction, scraping and so on. Thus, the material used as oil and water separating membrane should have enough strength and flexibility. The generally used coating fabrics were discussed in this paper as per the coating agents, base cloths, and coating methods. Glass fiber cloth coated with silica gel and polyurethane coated fabrics were chosen and a series of tests were performed as per the corresponding standards. By analyzing the test results, the preferred material for oil and water separating membrane was proposed.

There is no incremental learning ability for the traditional support vector machine (SVM) and there are all kind of merits and flaws for usually used incremental learning method. Normal SVM is unable to train in large-scale samples, while the computer’s memory is limited. In order to resolve this problem and improve training speed of the SVM, we analyze essential characteristic of SVM and bring up the incremental learning algorithm of SVM based on regression of SVM related to SV (support vectors). The algorithm increases the speed of training and can be able to learning with large-scale samples while its regressive precision loses fewer. The experiments show that SVM performs effectively and practically. Its application to prediction of the transition temperature (Tg) for high molecular polymers show that this model (R2=0.9427) proved to be considerably more accurate compared to a ANNs regression model (R2=0.9269).

The photocatalytic depolymerization of Dagang vacuum residue (DVR) was carried out with H2O2 over TiO2 in a photochemical reactor. Most of the organic matter in DVR was converted into oxygen-containing organic compounds. The yields of carboxylic acids, oxalates, epoxy compounds, and hydroxyl compounds from DVR oxidation are 40.6%, 36.4%, 17.86%, and 13.5%, respectively. In addition, the oxidation causes significant decrease in viscosity and chromaticity of DVR. The related reaction mechanisms are discussed according to the experimental results.

In this retrospective study, we investigated the effect of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) in patients with postpartum low back pain (PPLBP). We included 67 patients with PPLBP in this study. All patients received NMES, each session 30 minutes, 1 session weekly for a total of 4 weeks. The primary outcome was measured by the reduction in pain intensity, based on the visual analogue scale (VAS). The secondary outcomes included functional status, measured by the Roland–Morris disability questionnaire (RMDQ), and quality of life, measured by the World Health Organization Quality of Life questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF), as well as the adverse events related to the treatment. The outcome data were evaluated at baseline and at the end of 4-week treatment. After 4-week treatment, NMES did not exert better outcomes in pain relief, measured by VAS, and functional status, measured by RMDQ compared with those before the treatment. In addition, no significant improvement in quality of life, measured by WHOQOL-BREF, compared to it before the treatment. The results of our study did not find that NMES is effective in patients with PPLBP after 4-week treatment.

Currently, some efforts have been devoted to the text analysis of disease phenotype data, and their results indicated that similar disease phenotypes arise from functionally related genes. These related genes work together, as a functional module, to perform a desired cellular function. We constructed a text-based human disease phenotype network and detected 82 disease-specific gene functional modules, each corresponding to a different phenotype cluster, by means of graph-based clustering and mapping from disease phenotype to gene. Since genes in such gene functional modules are functionally related and cause clinically similar diseases, they may share common genetic origin of their associated disease phenotypes. We believe the investigation may facilitate the ultimate understanding of the common pathophysiologic basis of associated diseases.

BDD anodes were selected for quinoline mineralization and influence of operating parameters, such as current density, initial quinoline concentration, supporting electrolyte, and initial pH was investigated. Based on the consideration of quinoline removal efficiency and average current efficiency, at initial quinoline concentration of 50 mg L−1and pH of 7, the optimal condition was confirmed as current density of 75 mA cm−2, electrolysis time of 1.5 h, and Na2SO4concentration of 0.05 mol L−1by orthogonal test. At different electrolysis time, its effluent characteristics were focused on. The biodegradability (the ratio between BOD5and COD) was enhanced from initial 0.02 to 0.57 at 90 min. The specific oxygen uptake rate was used to assess effluent toxicity, and the value gradually reduced with decreasing effluent organic concentration with mean value of 5.51, 4.19, and 2.20 mgO2 g−1MLSS at electrolysis time of 15, 30, and 45 min, respectively. Compared with control sample (prepared with glucose), the effluent of quinoline mineralization showed obvious inhibition effect on microorganisms at electrolysis time of 15 min, and then it was significantly faded at 30 min and 45 min.
