- Abstract
Svrha ovog priručnika je senzibiliziranje ravnatelja odgojno-obrazovnih institucija i nositelja obrazovnih politika u našoj zemlji na važnost mentalnoga zdravlja djece i učenika, posebice u kontekstu odgoja i obrazovanja, te uloge dječjih vrtića, osnovnih i srednjih škola. Sadržajno obuhvaća suvremene teorijske spoznaje te praktične implikacije za odgojno- obrazovni kontekst u okviru osnaživanja mentalnoga zdravlja djece, učenika i odgojno- obrazovnih djelatnika. Pritom, također obuhvaća tri važna područja: područje socijalno- emocionalnih kompetencija, otpornosti i mentalnoga zdravlja.

- Abstract
Objectives: The consequences of long-lasting restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic have become a topical question in the latest research. The present study aims to analyze longitudinal changes in adolescents’ social emotional skills, resilience, and behavioral problems. Moreover, the study addresses the impact of adolescents’ social emotional learning on changes in their resilience and behavioral problems over the course of seven months of the pandemic. Methods: The Time 1 (T1) and Time 2 (T2) measuring points were in October 2020 and May 2021, characterized by high mortality rates and strict restrictions in Europe. For all three countries combined, 512 questionnaires were answered by both adolescents (aged 11-13 and 14-16 years) and their parents. The SSIS-SEL and SDQ student self-report and parent forms were used to evaluate adolescents’ social emotional skills and behavioral problems. The CD-RISC-10 scale was administered to adolescents to measure their self-reported resilience. Several multilevel models were fitted to investigate the changes in adolescents’ social emotional skills, resilience, and behavioral problems, controlling for age and gender. Correlation analysis was carried out to investigate how changes in the adolescents’ social emotional skills were associated with changes in their resilience and mental health adjustment. Results: Comparing T1 and T2 evaluations, adolescents claim they have more behavioral problems, have less social emotional skills, and are less prosocial than perceived by their parents, and this result applies across all countries and age groups. Both informants agree that COVID-19 had a negative impact, reporting an increment in the mean internalizing and externalizing difficulties scores and reductions in social emotional skills, prosocial behavior, and resilience scores. The PROMEHS programme is a comprehensive mental health programme for early years, primary and secondary schools implemented within a whole- school approach driven and supported by the school leaders in collaboration with the whole-school community, addressing both students’ and teachers’ mental health and wellbeing and involving parents and families. It is one of a few programmes that seek to address both students’ and teachers’ well- being and mental health. Its implementation in six European countries indicates that it enhances students’ social and emotional competence and prosocial behaviour and decreases internalising and externalising difficulties, and that it improves teachers’ self-efficacy, resilience and social competence. Further research making use of a randomised control trial, longitudinal design with follow-up trials and supported by rich qualitative data from students, teachers and parents, is needed to confirm PROMEHS as an effective, evidence-based programme for the promotion of mental health and well-being in school.

16. Mental Health and Work Engagement as Predictors of Different Burnout Conceptualizations in a Multi-Occupational Sample from Latvia

- Abstract
The aim of the study was to investigate the role of mental health concepts (depression, anxiety, and stress) and work engagement in the prediction of burnout sub-variables in different conceptual models and which sub-variable they explain the most. It was assumed, that conceptualization of burnout subtypes could be more successful in the distinction of the burnout from other mental health phenomena compared to the well-known approach. A cross-sectional study among multi-occupational sample (N= 394) was conducted. A correlational and multivariative design was done. Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales was used for measure depression, anxiety, and stress and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale for measure work engagement. Maslach Burnout Inventory General Survey and Burnout Clinical Subtype Questionnaire were used for burnout measures. Anxiety, work engagement, and stress were significant predictors of Frenetic subtype, Work engagement and depression explained Underchallenged subtype, depression, work engagement and anxiety explained Worn-Out, but all independent variables explained Exhaustion, in turn depression and work engagement predicted Cynicism and Professional efficacy. Sociodemographic factors were controlled. Work engagement had greater predictive value of the burnout in the Montero Marín model, but the mental health factors played a more dominant role in the Maslach model. The results indicate a greater role of depression in the classical burnout model.

- Abstract
Benevolent and corrective humor are two comic styles that have been related to virtue, morality, and character strengths. A previous study also supported the viability of measuring these two styles with the BenCor in 22 countries. The present study extends the previous one by including further countries (a total of 25 countries in 29 samples with N = 7813), by testing the revised BenCor (BenCor-R), and by adding two criterion measures to assess life satisfaction and four broad humor dimensions (social fun/entertaining humor, mockery, humor ineptness, and cognitive/reflective humor). As expected, the BenCor-R showed mostly promising psychometric properties (internal consistency and factorial validity). Consistent with previous studies, benevolent humor correlated positively with life satisfaction in most countries, while corrective humor was uncorrelated with life satisfaction. These relationships were only slightly changed when controlling for social fun/entertaining humor and mockery, respectively. Benevolent humor was mostly positively associated with cognitive/reflective humor, followed by social fun/entertaining humor and mockery. Corrective humor was mostly positively associated with mockery, followed by cognitive/reflective and social fun/entertaining humor, although these relationships differed between the countries. Overall, the present study supports the viability of benevolent and corrective humor, which has yet received insufficient attention in psychology, for cross-cultural investigations and applications of humor, well-being, and morality.

Increasingly more studies are focused on the helping professions with greater attention to the impact that trauma can have on those who provide victim support. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between vicarious trauma, coping strategies and vicarious posttraumatic growth among crisis line consultants. The sample consisted of 58 consultants (90,5% women), aged from 20 to 75 years (M = 39,81; SD = 10.13), who had spent from 20 to 5280 hours providing crisis intervention on the crisis telephone line. They completed the Professional Quality of Life Scale, Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced Inventory, and Post-traumatic Growth Inventory, as well as a survey for obtaining demographic and other additional data. The results indicated no significant relationships between vicarious trauma and vicarious posttraumatic growth in this sample, nor between coping strategies and vicarious trauma. The coping strategies Positive reinterpretation and growth, Religious coping, and Humour showed positive relationships and Substance use - a negative correlation with vicarious posttraumatic growth. The number of hours spent working on the crisis line showed no significant correlations with the other study constructs. The consultant's age showed a negative correlation with the vicarious trauma and a positive relationship with the vicarious posttraumatic growth subscale - Spiritual change. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The goal of this research was to examine the associations between anxiety sensitivity, physical activities and body mass index. The study included 475 participants, 359 females and 116 males. They completed the Anxiety Sensitivity Inventory Index-3, Global Physical Activity Questionnaire and weight and height information in order to calculate the body mass index. This research results showed significant negative correlations between anxiety sensitivity and physical activity, and between anxiety sensitivity and body mass index. The more time participants spent in a sitting position and the less they spent time engaged in physical activity, the higher were the reported anxiety sensitivity results. Women reported higher anxiety sensitivity. Regression analysis showed that anxiety sensitivity in the female group was predicted by age and time spent in a sitting position, while in the male group anxiety sensitivity was predicted by age and free time physical activity. The results of the study confirm the need for individual approaches for the encouragement of physical activity as a mental health promoter. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study aimed to examine the relationship of internalized homonegativity and self-acceptance, and how these constructs relate to different aspects of orientation disclosure - time passed since orientation disclosure, reaction to disclosure, social environment in which orientation was disclosed. The104 non-heterosexually oriented respondents, over the age of 18, completed the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Unconditional Self-Acceptance Questionnaire, The Revised Internalized Homophobia Scale, Outness Inventory and evaluated the reaction they received. The results showed a significant negative relationship between internalized homonegativity and self-acceptance, but not with the level of outness, the reaction received, or the time since disclosure. The study aimed to explore the relationship between irrational beliefs and presenteeism among employees of the State Police force of Latvia. One hundred ninety-eight participants took part in the study (40% women) with the average age 35,5 years. Three questionnaires were used in the study: General Attitudes and Beliefs Scale-Short Form, GABS-SF (Lindner et al., 1999), Stanford Presenteeism Scale, SPS-6 (Koopman et al., 2002) and Health and Work Performance Questionnaire, WHO-HPQ (Kessler et al., 2003). A positive correlation between irrational beliefs and presenteeism was found. However, the way of measuring presenteeism determined to what extent it was explained by irrational beliefs. The decline in quality of work due to poor health was explained primarily by irrational beliefs about the need of comfort. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Recently, two forms of virtue-related humor, benevolent and corrective, have been introduced. Benevolent humor treats human weaknesses and wrongdoings benevolently, while corrective humor aims at correcting and bettering them. Twelve marker items for benevolent and corrective humor (the BenCor) were developed, and it was demonstrated that they fill the gap between humor as temperament and virtue. The present study investigates responses to the BenCor from 25 samples in 22 countries (overall= 7,226). The psychometric properties of the BenCor were found to be sufficient in most of the samples, including internal consistency, unidimensionality, and factorial validity. Importantly, benevolent and corrective humor were clearly established as two positively related, yet distinct dimensions of virtue-related humor. Metric measurement invariance was supported across the 25 samples, and scalar invariance was supported across six age groups (from 18 to 50+ years) and across gender. Comparisons of samples within and between four countries (Malaysia, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK) showed that the item profiles were more similar within than between countries, though some evidence for regional differences was also found. This study thus supported, for the first time, the suitability of the 12 marker items of benevolent and corrective humor in different countries, enabling a cumulative cross-cultural research and eventually applications of humor aiming at the good.

The aim of the study was to assess the reliability, factorial and convergent validity of the Latvian version of the Burnout Clinical Subtype Questionnaire short form (BSCQ-12). The sample was composed of 317 participants (52,7% women) with average age 34,21 years. Respondents represented four different employment groups: military personnel (N = 105), nurses (N = 50), marketing specialists (N = 52) and hotel specialists (N = 110). The study used these tools: Burnout Clinical Subtype Questionnaire (BCSQ-36) and the short version of it (BCSQ-12) (Montero-Marín & García-Campayo, 2010; Montero-Marín et al., 2011b), The Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey, MBI-GS (Maslach et al., 1986) and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, UWES-9 (Schaufeli & Bakker, 2003). The results indicate that the Latvian version of the BSCQ- 12 has high internal consistency and acceptable stability over time. The research has validated survey factorial validity and convergent validity with respect to the Maslach burnout dimensions. BSCQ-12 can be used for burnout screening in Latvia. The aim of the study was to examine the associations between selfie behavior, selfie motivation, narcistic traits and self-esteem. Two surveys were developed for this study: Selfie Behaviour Survey and Selfie Motivation Scale. Measures of narcisstic personality traits and self-esteem were completed as well. Two hundred and two participants (87,1% female), aged 18 to 57 years (M = 28,08), participated in the study. The results of the study showed that various motives were related wit-h selfie behavior: selfie frequency was more closely related to the entertaining, attracting attention and archiving motivation. Narcissism personality trait ratings showed positive relationship with attention seeking and entertainment motivation. Higher self-esteem ratings were associated with attributing less importance to the opinions of others in regard to selfies published on social networks, as well as a more frequent use of selfies for communication purposes. The results indicate that selfie behavior is a heterogeneous phenomenon which allows different individuals to meet different needs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Elektroniskā versija nesatur pielikumus, Anotācija Promocijas darba „Humora loma stresa pārvarēšanas procesā” mērķis bija noskaidrot, kāda ir humora loma stresa pārvarēšanas procesā. Eksperimentāli tika pārbaudīts, vai iekšējs humoristisks monologs kalpo stresa mazināšanai. Rezultāti ļāva secināt, ka instrukcija veidot iekšēju humoristisku monologu neatstāj iespaidu uz stresa emocionālajām reakcijām. Aprakstošā sakarību pētījumā tika pārbaudīts, kurš no pastarpināto sakarību modeļiem labāk izskaidro dažādu humora dimensiju iesaisti stresa un tā reakciju savstarpējās sakarībās. Rezultāti liecināja, ka humora iesaisti stresa pārvarēšanā labāk izskaidro mediatora modelis, nevis tradicionāli izmantotais stresa moderatora modelis. Iekļaujot uztvertā rādītāju kā mediatoru, bija iespējams skaidrot dažādu humora stilu sakarības ar ilgtermiņa stresa reakcijām. Pašuzmundrinošais humora stils veidoja gan tiešas, gan ar uztverto stresu pastarpinātas sakarības ar pozitīvām un negatīvām emocijām. Biedriskais humors skaidroja pozitīvas emocijas neatkarīgi no stresa. Atslēgvārdi: humora stili, stress, emocijas, moderators, mediators., The aim of the dissertation “The role of the humor in stress coping” was to clarify the role of the humor in stress coping process. Hypothesis that an internal humorous monologue decreases stress reaction was tested using experimental design. Results showed that an instruction to create an internal monologue had no effect on emotional stress reaction. Cross-sectional design was used to test which model of indirect links best explains how different dimensions of humor interlink with stress and stress related reactions. Results showed that mediator model was better predictor, if compared with traditionally used stress-moderator model. When perceived stress was included into analysis, it was possible to explain relations between different humor dimensions and long term stress reactions. Self-enhancing humor has both direct and indirect (mediated through perceived stress) effect on positive and negative emotions. Affiliative humor explains positive emotions independently from stress. The first aim of this study was to compare self-reported trauma symptoms among three groups of high-risk professionals: firefighters, policeman and soldiers, who had served in international operations. The second aim was to examine associations between different types of traumatic experience and trauma symptoms in each group, as well as to examine perceived coping resources. The third aim of the study was to explore the perception of trauma risk for these three groups from the perspective of the professionals and the general public. Participating in this study were 50 soldiers from ages of 24 to 49; 65 firefighters from ages of 19 to 58; and 85 policemen from ages of 20 to 59. All respondents were male. Perceptions from the general public were provided by 663 respondents, from ages 18 to 78, of which 138 were female and 525 male. Trauma symptoms were measured by the Trauma Symptom Inventory (Briere, 1995). Firefighters reported higher ratings of depression and dissociation compared to soldiers and policeman. Firefighters who had experienced the death of a colleague or threat to one's life, and those policemen who had experienced the death of a stranger reported higher trauma symptoms. Family support, colleagues and the desire to help others were the main factors which firefighters and policemen perceived as helpful in their professions. - Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine whether there is a correlation between substance use and childhood relationship with father, as well as to examine differences in the assessed value of this relationship among individuals who had used several different types of illegal drugs, those who had only used marijuana, and those who had not used any illegal substances. The Father Presence Questionnaire (Krampe & Newton, 2006) was used to gather data about the childhood relationship with father, and respondents reported on their experience with using different types of illegal drugs. The study sample constisted of 369 respondents (aged 18 to 30 years, mean age 23.88 years): those who had not used any illegal drugs (n = 64); those who had only used marijuana (n = 117); and those who had used several different illegal drugs (n = 188). The results showed that lower ratings on all of the relationship questionnaire scales correlated with higher usage of the illegal substances. Most of the investigated correlations proved to be statistically significant and in the predicted direction. Four of the five relationship questionnaire scales displayed signifficantly lower mean values for individuals who had used several different illegal drugs compared to both other groups, but no significant differences were found between individuals who had used only marijuana, and those who had not used any illegal drugs. Recent studies on individual differences of humour-related traits and their relationship to stress coping focus on a humour style approach. The present study was aimed at cross-cultural validation of the Humor Style Questionnaire in Latvia. Participants were 183 undergraduates. Results provide support for a four humour style model and its relation to personality dimensions and stress coping. With only one exception (Extraversion), adaptive and maladaptive humour differentially related to personality dimensions and well-being. Affiliative and self-enhancing humour scales were positively related with Extraversion and Openness, and self-enhancing humour correlated negatively with Neuroticism. Aggressive humour was negatively related with Agreeableness and both aggressive and self-defeating scales were negatively related with Conscientiousness. The aim of the study was to determine whether humor affects stress responses in an experimental stress situation. Sixty-nine students of psychology and education and fifty students of building engineering took part in the study. Participants were randomly assigned to one of three groups and watched the stress inducing movie. One of the groups was instructed to watch the film in preparation for the task of commenting upon it in a humorous manner; the second group was instructed to prepare a scientific comment, while the third received no specific instructions regarding comments. Self-reported measures of emotion were collected before and after the film. Results did not support the hypothesis, a two-way interaction among group and sample showed that engineering students showed lower stress reactions in the scientific perspective group, rather than in the humor group. Rezutlāti liecina, ka plūsmas stāvoklim nav statistiski nozīmīga korelācija ar radošumu, līdz ar to pētījumā izvirzītā hipotēze tika noraidīta. Tika pierādīts, ka profesionāli mūziķi uzrāda augstāku radošumu muzikālajās kompozīcijās salīdzinot ar amatieru mūziķiem., The aim of the study was to find out whether there is a positive relationship between the state of flow and the creativity of musicians. The sample of respondents consists of 53 musicians, of which 26 are professional and 27 - amateur. The Flow State Scale survey and observation protocols according to The Creative Music Relevance Criteria were used for the measurements. The results show that the flow state does not have a statistically significant correlation with creativity, therefore the hypothesis of the study was rejected. It has been proven that professional musicians show higher creativity in musical compositions compared to amateur musicians.

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot novecošanas pieredzes, vientulības un psiholoģiskās labklājības saistību. Izlasi veidoja 314 respondenti, no tiem 174 sievietes. Izmantotas: Novecošanas pieredzes aptauja (Awareness of Age-Related Change questionnaire short form (AARC-SF), adaptējusi Stūre, 2022, šī pētījuma ietvaros), Psiholoģiskās labklājības skala (Scales of Psychological Well-Being, adaptējusi Voitkāne, Miezīte, 2003 (Raščevska et al., 2003)), De Žongas – Ģīrvildes vientulības aptauja (JGLS, adaptējusi Krūmale, 2012). Rezultāti liecina, ka pastāv saistība starp vientulību un psiholoģisko labklājību, starp novecošanas pieredzes ieguvumiem un zaudējumiem un vientulību, starp novecošanas pieredzes ieguvumiem un zaudējumiem un psiholoģisko labklājību, kā arī starp veselības stāvokli un pārējiem mainīgajiem lielumiem. Vientulība, novecošanas pieredzes zaudējumi un ieguvumi prognozē psiholoģisko labklājību., The aim of the study was to investigate associations between awareness of age related change (aging experience), loneliness and psychological well-being. Data were obtained from a sample of 314 adults, including 174 women. Surveys used: Awareness of Age-Related Change Questionnaire Short Form (AARC-SF), adapted by Stūre, 2022, this study, Scales of Psychological Well-Being, adapted by Voitkāne, Miezīte, 2003 (Raščevska et al., 2003), De Jong-Gierveld Loneliness Scale (JGLS), adapted by Krūmale, 2012. In a result correlation was found between loneliness and psychological well-being, between gains and losses of awareness of age related change and loneliness, between gains and losses of awareness of age related change and psychological well-being, as well as between subjective health and other variables. Loneliness, gains and losses of awareness of age related change predict psychological well-being.

41. Maternitātes nozīmības un pašvērtējuma saistība sievietiem bez bērniem

Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kāda saistība pastāv starp maternitātes nozīmību un pašvērtējumu sievietēm bez bērniem un kā uztvertās auglības grūtības ietekmē šo saistību. Pētījumā piedalījās 212 sievietes vecumā no 30 līdz 61 gadiem, kurām nav bērnu. Vidējais respondentes vecums ir 35,4 gadi. Maternitātes nozīmības mērīšanai tikai izmantota Maternitātes nozīmības skala (Importance of Motherhood Scale, Mcquillan, Greil, Shreffler, Tichenor, 2008), kas tika adaptēta šī darba ietvaros. Pašvērtējuma mērīšanai tika izmantota Rozenberga pašcieņas aptauja (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale; Rosenberg, 1965), metodi adaptējusi Anika Miltuze, 1996. Pētījumā tika atklāts, ka pastāv statistiski nozīmīga negatīva saistība starp maternitātes nozīmību un pašvērtējumu sievietēm bez bērniem. Savukārt, tika atklāts ka saistība starp maternitātes nozīmību un pašvērtējumu sievietēm ar uztvertām auglības grūtībām nav ciešāka nekā sievietēm bez auglības grūtībām., The aim of this research is to explore the relationship between the importance of motherhood and self-esteem among childless women, and how perceived fertility difficulties affect this relationship. Respondents of this study are 212 childless women at age between 30 and 61, the average age in 35,4. Importance of Motherhood Scale (Mcquillan, Greil, Shreffler, Tichenor, 2008 was used and), Latvian language version was created during this study. Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965) Latvian version by Anika Miltuze, 1996 was used to measure self-esteem. As a result of this research, it was found that there is statistically significant relationship between the importance of motherhood and self-esteem for childless women. However, it was revealed that the relationship between the importance of motherhood and self-esteem is no stronger for women with fertility difficulties, then for women without fertility difficulties.

Bakalaura darba pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt uztvertā akadēmiskā stresa un akadēmiskās izdegšanas saistību medicīnas un psiholoģijas studentiem, kā arī noskaidrot vai pastāv nozīmīgas atšķirības starp medicīnas un psiholoģijas studentu uztvertā akadēmiskā stresa līmeni un akadēmiskās izdegšanas risku. Pētījumā piedalījās 66 respondenti, (59 sievietes, 7 vīrieši), vecumā no 19 līdz 46 gadiem (M=23,27; SD=22,24). Datu ievākšanai tika izmantotas divas aptaujas, Uztvertā akadēmiskā stresa aptauja (Perception of Academic Stress (PAS); Bedewy & Gabriel, 2015) un Maslakas izdegšanas sindroma aptauja- Studentu versija (Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS); Schaufeli, Martinez, Pinto, Salanova & Bakker, 2002). Pētījumā tika secināts, ka psiholoģijas studentiem ir augstāks uztvertā akadēmiskā stresa līmenis nekā medicīnas studentiem, kā arī tika noskaidrots, ka pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas saistības starp akadēmiskā uztvertā stresa pašnovērtējuma skalu un akadēmisko izdegšanu gan medicīnas, gan psiholoģijas studentu izlasēs. Two surveys were used to collect the data- (Perception of Academic Stress (PAS); Bedewy & Gabriel, 2015) and (Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS); Schaufeli, Martinez, Pinto, Salanova & Bakker, 2002). The study concluded that psychology students had higher level of perceived academic stress than medical students and found that there were statistically significant associations between academic perceived stress the self-perception scale and academic burnout in both medical and psychology student samples. Latvijā krūts vēzis ir visizplatītākais ļaundabīgais audzējs sievietēm. Slimības uztvere nosaka pacientu veselības un slimības uzvedību un tai ir ietekme uz dzīves kvalitāti. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt slimības uztveres saistību ar dzīves kvalitāti krūts vēža pacientēm. Pētījumā piedalījās 39 krūts vēža pacientes no 18 gadu vecuma, kuras ir ārstēšanās procesā. Tika izmantota Slimības uztveres skalas saīsinātā versija (Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire), EORTC QLQ-C30 un EORTC QLQ-BR23 aptaujas. Iegūtie rezultāti liecina par to, ka slimības uztveres rādītāji negatīvi saistās ar dzīves kvalitātes funkcionēšanas rādītājiem un pozitīvi saistās ar dzīves kvalitātes simptomu rādītājiem., Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer between women in Latvia. Illness perception leads patients healh behavior and illness behavior and has an impact on quality of life. The aim of this study is to determine the association between illness perception and health-related quality of life in patients with breast cancer. The participants were 39 breast cancer patients from the age of 18 who are currently receiving medical treatment. Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, EORTC QLQ-C30 un EORTC QLQ-BR23 were used as instruments. The results show that illness perception is negatively associated with functional parameters in quality of life and positively associated with symptom parameters.

44. Mūzikas ietekme uz miega kvalitāti

Miegs ir svarīga ikdienas sastāvdaļa un ir nepieciešams atrast lētus un efektīvus veidus kā to uzlabot. Mūzika ir atklāta kā efektīva metode miega kvalitātes uzlabošanā galvenokārt cilvēkiem, kuri piedzīvo bezmiegu. Šī darba mērķis bija pārliecināties, vai un kādā veidā mūzika ietekmē miega kvalitāti. Pētījumā tika izmantots pielīdzināto grupu dizains, lai sasniegtu augstāku iespējamo sākuma grupu līdzību. Pētījumā uzsāka dalību 50 dalībnieki, kuru skaits pētījuma beigās bija sarucis līdz 22 (9 vīrieši un 13 sievietes vecumā no 18 līdz 46). Pētījums tika veidots kā eksperiments, vienai grupai dodot instrukciju klausīties mūziku pirms iemigšanas, otrai – jebkurā citā dienas laikā. Eksperimenta sākumā un beigās dalībnieki aizpildīja Pitsburgas aptauju par miega kvalitāti, kā arī atbildēja uz jautājumiem par ierasto pirms miega rutīnu un mūzikas klausīšanās uzdevuma izpildi. Rezultāti liecina, ka mūzikas klausīšanās pirms miega neatstāja statistiski nozīmīgu ietekmi uz miega kvalitāti., Sleep is an important part of everyday life and there is a need to find cheap and effective ways to improve it. Music has been found to be an effective method of improving sleep quality, especially for people who experience insomnia. The aim of this work was to see if and how music affects the quality of sleep. The study used the matched group design to achieve the highest possible similarity between the initial groups. The study was attended by 50 participants, who had dropped to 22 at the end of the study (9 men and 13 women aged 18 to 46). The study was designed as an experiment, with one group instructed to listen to music before falling asleep and another at any other time of the day. At the beginning and end of the experiment, participants completed The Pittsburgh sleep quality survey, as well as answering questions about their usual pre-sleep routine and listening to music. The results showed that listening to music before bed had no statistically significant effect on sleep quality.

45. Personības iezīmju saistība ar grūtību pārvarēšanas stratēģijām pāra attiecībās

Personības iezīmes var prognozēt cilvēka uzvedību dažādās dzīves situācijās, ieskaitot arī romantisku attiecību veidošanu un uzturēšanu. Lai noskaidrotu pāra attiecību kvalitāti, pētījumos bieži izmanto mēījumus apmierinātībā ar laulībām, ko savukārt ietekmē dažādi faktori. Izmantojot Makkreja un Kostas pieeju personības apskatīšanā, šajā darbā tika mēģināts atrast korelācijas starp personības iezīmēm un romantisku attiecību kvalitāti un ilgumu. Darba gaitā tika apskatīti vairāki pētījumi, kas fokusējas uz atsevišķu personības iezīmju nozīmi attiecību kvalitātes nodrošināšanā, vai arī kopumā pēta, kas ietekmē attiecību kvalitāti un tādējādi arī to ilgumu. Kopumā tika pētīta atsevišķu personības iezīmju saistība ar grūtību pārvarēšanas stratēģijām, aplūkojot jau veiktos pētījumus un izmantojot atbilstošu instrumentāriju. Grūtību pārvarēšanas stratēģijas tika aplūkotas vispārīgi, kā arī konkrētāk caur grūtību pārvarēšanas aptaujas piedāvātajām apakšskalām, aptauju adaptējot latviešu valodā. Var secināt, ka romantisku attiecību prognozēšanā jāapsver gan to paredzētais ilgums, apzinot, ka, piemēram, zems labvēlīgums un zems apzinīgums ir pozitīvi vērtējams partnerī īstermiņa attiecībās, tomēr ilgtermiņā šādas personības iezīmes negatīvi korelē ar attiecību kvalitāti. Kā arī pētījumos pierādīts, ka augsts neirotisms abos partneros spēj prognozēt zemu apmierinātību ar laulību, kas ietekmē to kvalitāti un var prognozēt neveiksmīgu tās iznākumu. Pētījuma gaitā noskaidrots, ka plašie longitudinālie pētījumi apstiprina, ka romantisku attiecību kvalitātē nozīme ir nevis atsevišķu indivīdu personības iezīmēm, bet to savstarpējai saderībai pārī. Personības iezīmes tādējādi arī spēj prognozēt grūtību pārvarēšanas stratēģijas un to pielietošanu tieši diādiskā kontekstā, tomēr nepiemērojot dzimumatšķirības šajā jautājumā., Personality traits can predict a person's behavior in a variety of life situations, including building and maintaining a romantic relationship. In order to determine the quality of a couple's relationship, research often uses assesment of marital satisfaction, which in turn is influenced by various factors. Using McCrey's and Costa's approach to personality, this work sought to find correlations between personality traits and the quality and duration of romantic relationships. In the course of the work, several studies were considered, which focus on the importance of certain personality traits in ensuring the quality of relationships, or in general, which influence the quality of relationships and thus their duration. Overall, the relationship between individual personality traits and coping strategies was explored by reviewing existing research and using appropriate instrumentation. Coping strategies were examined in general, as well as more specifically through the subscales offered by the Dyadic Coping Inventory, adapted into Latvian. It can be concluded that the prediction of romantic relationships should consider both their expected duration, recognising that, for example, low agreeableness and low conscientiousness are positively evaluated in a partner in a short-term relationship, but in the long term such personality traits negatively correlate with relationship quality. Research has also shown that high levels of neuroticism in both partners can predict low marital satisfaction, which affects the quality of the marriage and may predict a failed outcome. The study found that extensive longitudinal research confirms that it is not the personality traits of individuals that matter for the quality of romantic relationships, but their compatibility within the couple. Personality traits are thus also able to predict coping strategies and their use in a dyadic context, without, however, applying gender differences in this respect.

Labs miegs un nodarbošanās ar fiziskām aktivitātēm spēlē lielu lomu cilvēka fiziskās un mentālās veselības, kā arī dzīves kvalitātes uzlabošanā, un ir zināms, ka fiziskas aktivitātes uzlabo miega kvalitāti. Šī darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā sportiskas aktivitātes ir saistītas ar miega kvalitāti. Pētījumā piedalījās 96 respondenti vecumā no 18 līdz 60 gadiem. Pētījumā tika izmantotas šādas aptaujas: Pitsburgas aptauja par miega kvalitāti un divas šī darba ietvaros izveidotas aptaujas par sportisku aktivitāšu veidu un ilgumu nedēļā un par sportisku aktivitāšu intensitāti un ilgumu nedēļā. Šī darba pētījuma rezultāti kopumā ir pretrunā ar iepriekš veikto pētījumu atradumiem, netika atrastas statistiski nozīmīgas korelācijas mainīgo starpā, izņemot starp vidējas slodzes sportiskas aktivitātēm un iemigšanas laiku, kur bija statistiski nozīmīga negatīva korelācija., Good sleep and physical activity play an important role in improving a person's physical and mental health and quality of life, and physical activity is known to improve the quality of sleep. The aim of this work is to find out how sports activities are related to sleep quality. The study involved 96 respondents aged 18 to 60. The following surveys were used in the study: The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and two surveys that were created within the framework of this bachelor's thesis on the type and duration of sports activities per week and on the intensity and duration of sports activities per week. The results of this study generally contradict the findings of previous studies, no statistically significant correlation was found between the variables, except between moderate intensity sports activities and sleep latency, where there was a statistically significant negative correlation.

Pirmo izlasi veido 80 pieaugušie vecumā no 18 līdz 44 gadiem (M = 30,04, SD = 7,75), kas aizpildīja Epidemioloģijas pētījumu centra depresijas skalu (Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (Eaton, Muntaner, Smith, Tien & Ybarra, 2004)), Latvijā aptauju adaptējušas M. Bērtule un I. Melne 2018. gadā (Bērtule & Melne, 2018), Vecāku attieksmes aptauju (Parental Bonding Instrument (Parker, Tupling & Brown, 1979)), Latvijā aptauju adaptējusi I. Bite 1998. gadā (Bite, 1998) un demogrāfisko datu aptauju. Otro izlasi veido 80 pirmās izlases dalībnieku mātes vecumā no 43 līdz 76 gadiem (M = 50,41, SD = 7,78), kas aizpildīja Narcistisko personības iezīmju aptauja (Narcissistic Personality Inventory (Raskin & Hall, 1979)), Latvijā aptauju adaptējusi I. Strode 2008. gadā (Strode, 2008), atkārtotu adaptāciju veikusi S. Laimiņa 2020. gadā (Laimiņa, 2020), kā arī demogrāfisko datu aptauju. Šī pētījuma rezultāti neuzrāda saistības starp pieaugušā depresiju un mātes narcistiskām personības iezīmēm, tāpat netiek novērotas saistības starp pieaugušā uztverto mātes emocionālo siltumu bērnībā un mātes narcistiskām personības iezīmēm. Pētījumos tiek diskutēts par narcistisku vecāku optimālas audzināšanas nozīmi bērnu mentālās veselības veicināšanā., The aim of the study was to examine the relations between depression and perceived maternal care in childhood and the mother's narcissism among adults. The research included two related samples. First sample included 80 adults, aged from 18 to 44 years (M = 30,04, SD = 7,75). With this sample the following questionnaires were used: Narcissistic Personality Inventory (Raskin & Hall, 1979), adapted in Latvia by I. Strode, in 2008 (Strode, 2008), re-adapted in Latvia by S. Laimiņa, in 2020 (Laimiņa, 2020) and demographic data questionnaire. The results confirmed no significant relationship between adults depression and the mother's narcissism and no significant relationship between adults perceived maternal care in childhood and the mother's narcissism. There is an ongoing discussion regarding the impact of optimal parenting of narcissistic parents in regard to contribution to children mental health.

Pētījuma mērķis - analizēt pedagogu psiholoģiskās labbūtības, izturības un stresa darba vidē saistību un noteikt pedagogu labbūtību prognozējošos faktorus saistībā ar izturību un stresu darba vidē. Pētījuma jautājumi - vai ai pastāv saistība starp pedagogu psiholoģisko labbūtību, izturību un stresu darba vidē un kādi ir pedagogu psiholoģisko labbūtību prognozējošie faktori saistībā ar izturību un stresu darba vidē. Secinājumi: Pastāv statistiski nozīmīga cieša pozitīva korelācija starp pedagogu psiholoģisko labbūtību un izturību, bet negatīva korelācija starp psiholoģisko labbūtību un stresu darba vidē. Izturība ir nozīmīgākais pedagogu psiholoģisko labbūtību prognozējošais faktors. No izturības faktoriem būtiskākais psiholoģisko labbūtību prognozējošais faktors ir sociālā kompetence. No darba stresa faktoriem nozīmīgākais psiholoģisko labbūtību prognozētājs ir organizatoriskie ierobežojumi., Research aimed to analyse the relationship between pedagogues’ psychological well-being, resilience, and stress in the work environment and to determine the factors which predict pedagogues’ well-being related to resilience and stress in the work environment. Research questions - is there a relationship between pedagogues' psychological well-being, resilience, and stress in the work environment and what are the predicting factors of pedagogues’ psychological well-being related to resilience and stress in the work environment. Conclusions: There is a statistically significant strong positive correlation between pedagogues' psychological well-being and resilience, but there is a negative correlation between psychological well-being and stress in the work environment. Resilience is the most important factor in predicting pedagogues' psychological well-being. Among the resilience factors, the most important factor, which predicts psychological well-being, is social competence. Among the work stressors, the most important predictors of psychological well-being are organizational restrictions.

Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai un kādas vērtības izglītības zinātnes un biznesa vadības studentiem ir saistītas ar apmierinātību ar dzīvi un vai indivīda vērtību saskaņa ar referento grupu vērtībām ir saistīta ar apmierinātības ar dzīvi rādītājiem, pamatojoties uz Vērtību – vides kongruences teoriju. Pētījumā, kurā piedalījās 100 respondenti, izlase sastāvēja no divām grupām - 54 Latvijas Universitātes izglītības zinātnes un 46 biznesa vadības studentiem. Pētījumā tika izmantotas trīs aptaujas: Apmierinātība ar dzīvi aptauja (Satisfaction With Life Scale; Diener et al., 1985; Upmane, 2010); Uzplaukuma skala (Diener et al., 2010; Sadauska & Koļesovs, 2021); Švarca vērtību aptauja (Schwartz Value Survey; Schwartz, 1992; Austers, 2002). Apmierinātība ar dzīvi biznesa vadības studentiem pozitīvi bija saistīta ar sasniegumiem, savukārt izglītības zinātnes studentiem – ar universālismu, labvēlību, konformitāti, drošību, sasniegumiem, hedonismu, stimulāciju, pašrealizāciju. Uzplaukuma rādītāji biznesa studentiem bija pozitīvi saistīti ar konformitāti, sasniegumiem un stimulāciju, savukārt izglītības zinātnes studentiem – ar universālismu, labvēlību, konformitāti, drošību, varu, sasniegumiem, stimulāciju un pašrealizāciju. Gan biznesa vadības, gan izglītības zinātnes studentiem vērtību sakritība ar referentās grupas vērtībām bija saistīta gan ar apmierinātību ar dzīvi, gan uzplaukumu, lai arī saistību ciešums atšķīrās, ko uzrādīja šo mainīgo saistību aplūkošana grupu ietvaros, gan arī visai izlasei kopumā. Atslēgas vārdi: vērtības, vērtību kongruence, vērtību – vides kongruences teorija, apmierinātība ar dzīvi, uzplaukums., The aim of the study is to find out whether and what Values are related to Life Satisfaction for students of Educational Science and Business Management and whether the congruence of Individual Values with the Values of referent groups is related to Life Satisfaction based on Person – Environment Congruence model. The sample consisted of two groups - 54 Educational Sciences and 46 Business Management students of University of Latvia. The study used three surveys: Satisfaction With Life Scale (Diener et al., 1985; Upmane, 2010); Flourishing Scale (Diener et al., 2010; Sadauska & Koļesovs, 2021); Schwartz Value Survey (Schwartz, 1992; Oyster, 2002). Satisfaction with Life for Business Management students was positively related to Achievement, while for students of Educational Science – with Universalism, Benevolence, Conformity, Security, Achievement, Hedonism, Stimulation, Self-Direction. Flourishing indicators for Business students were positively related to Conformity, Achievement and Stimulation, while for students of Educational Science – with Universalism, Benevolence, Conformity, Security, Power, Achievement, Stimulation and Self-Direction. For both – Business Management and Educational Science students, the congruence of values was related to both – Life Satisfaction and Flourishing, although the strenght of the colleration differed, which was confirmed by the consideration of these variables' relationships within groups, as well as for the sample as a whole. Izglītības vidē bieži pētīts un dažādi interpretēts ir izglītības darba kvalitātes jautājums. Skolotājs ir šīs kvalitātes praktiskais veicinātājs, tāpēc būtiski ir pilnveidot skolotāja kompetences ne tikai mācīšanas metožu pielietošanā, bet arī skolotāja noturības stiprināšanā. Noturīgs skolotājs drīzāk būs prasmīgs pārvaldīt stresu izraisošas situācijas, klasvadību un mācību procesa norisi. Tādam skolotājam piemīt augsta sociāli emocionālā kompetence un viņš ir pašefektīvs savā darbībā. Šī maģistra darba ietvaros tiks aplūkotas programmas “Garīgās veselības veicināšana skolās” iesaistīto skolotāju sociāli emocionālās kompetences un pašefektivitātes kvalitātes un vērtēta to pilnveide šīs programmas ieviešanas laikā, izvērtējot arī pašrefleksijas dziļuma ietekmi uz kompetenču pilnveidi. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izvērtēt programmā iesaistīto skolotāju sociāli emocionālās kompetences pilnveidi, tās saistību ar darba pašefektivitātes rādītājiem un vērtēt pašrefleksijas nozīmi to pilnveidē. Pētījums sastāv no trīs posmiem. Pirmais posms ir zinātniskās literatūras analīze, lai izprastu skolotāja sociāli emocionālās kompetences un pašefektivitātes nozīmi profesionālajā darbībā, kā arī apkopotu veidus, kā šīs kompetences iespējams pilnveidot, tai skaitā ar pašrefleksijas praksi. Otrais posms ir programmā “Garīgās veselības veicināšana skolās” iesaistīto 54 skolotāju sociāli emocionālās kompetences, pašefektivitātes un pašrefleksijas novērtēšana, datu apkopošana, apstrāde, kā arī pētījuma realizēšanas procesa raksturojums. Trešais posms ir rezultātu analīze, diskusija par iegūtajiem rezultātiem un ieteikumu apkopojums šī pētījuma turpināšanai un programmas turpmākai ieviešanai līdzīgos apstākļos. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka skolotāju sociāli emocionālā kompetence un pašefektivitāte ir savā starpā saistīti mainīgie. Programmas “Garīgās veselības veicināšana skolās” īstenošanas laikā skolotāju sociāli emocionālā kompetence un pašefektivitāte caurmērā ir pilnveidojusies, taču pašrefleksija šajā pētījumā neatklājās kā būtisks ietekmējošais faktors. Darba apjoms ir 57 lpp., darbā ietverti 7 attēli, 10 tabulas un 2 pielikumi, izmantoti 58 literatūras avoti., The issue of the quality of educational work is often studied and interpreted in different ways in the education community. The teacher is the practical promoter of this quality, so it is essential to develop teacher competences not only in the use of teaching methods, but also in strengthening teacher resilience. A resilient teacher is more likely to be skilled in managing stressful situations, classroom management and the learning process. Such a teacher has high socio-emotional competence and is self-effective. In the framework of this master’s thesis will examine the social emotional competences and self-efficacy qualities of the teachers involved in the 'Promoting Mental Health in Schools' programme will be examined and their development during the implementation of the programme, specifically looking at the impact of depth of self-reflection on the development of competences will be assessed. The aim of the master's thesis is to evaluate the relationship between the improvement of the socio-emotional competence of the teachers involved in the programme and the self-efficacy and to assess the role of self-reflection in their improvement. The study consists of three stages. The first stage is an analysis of the scientific literature in order to understand the role of teachers' social emotional competence and self-efficacy in their professional practice and to summarize the ways in which these competences can be improved, including through self-reflective practice. The second stage is the collection, processing and description of the process of implementation of the project "Promoting Mental Health in Schools". The third stage is the analysis of the results, discussion of the findings and a set of recommendations for the continuation of this study and for the future implementation of the programme in similar settings. The results of the study show that teachers' social emotional competence and self-efficacy are interrelated variables. On average, teachers' social emotional competence and self-efficacy have improved during the implementation of the 'Promoting Mental Health in Schools' programme, but self-reflection did not emerge as a significant influencing factor in this study. The thesis is 57 pages long, contains 7 figures, 10 tables and 2 annexes, uses 58 references.
