Purpose – This teaching case aims to analyze the business model of Amaro, a company that directly sells lifestyle goods to end consumers (B2C), focused on the women's market. Amaro's original business model is introduced and a challenging dilemma is proposed: could Amaro innovate its business model, moving from a digitally native vertical brand (DNVB)-type company to a platform, specifically a vertical marketplace focused on the female audience? Would Amaro be prepared for this evolution or would it be more appropriate to focus on or strengthen the DNVB model? Design/methodology/approach – This teaching case was developed based on in-depth interviews with Amaro's leadership. The teaching notes were proposed based on business model innovation, competitive positioning and market trends concepts. The teaching case considers a new type of business model called DNVB. Students can review the concepts, create analyses and recommend which strategic options can leverage the company for a new growing cycle. Findings – Using the case study in the classroom should promote the discussion and reflections on business model innovation and the future of retail in omnichannel contexts - Amaro offers products online (on an e-commerce platform and native mobile applications) and physically in locations called guide shops. The authors suggested the adoption of frameworks and tools (e.g. the competitive positioning map to allow students to visualize ways to compare strategies and make decisions). Research limitations/implications – The case introduces a fictional dilemma related to the decision to maximize offline or online investments or completely change the company's business model by adding a new vertical marketplace approach. Practical implications – This teaching case contributes to the student's learning about business model innovation and evolution. Case discussions could explore contemporary concepts such as value proposition, disintermediation and omnichannel commerce. Originality/value – Offering goods directly to the consumers by using modern technological architecture through vertical integration within the supply chain makes the DNVB business model an original topic in the start-up segment.

INDUSTRIAL organization (Economic theory) ,BANKING industry ,MARKET leaders ,AUTOMOBILE industry ,ELECTRIC vehicles - Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this paper is to examine reasons for lagging in innovation of past technological leaders and incentives of entrants to a market to invest more despite smaller market share. Approach: Examples of banks vs. fintechs and combustion engine carmakers vs. electric carmakers are used as motivation to construct an oligopolistic competition model that demonstrates reasons for giving up development by existing market leaders. Findings: In the presented model, an impact of costly innovation is non-monotone and hence some incumbents have limited incentives to innovate. Those findings justify why combustion engine carmakers compete with new electric vehicle carmakers in a way less aggressive manner than implied by their market share. Research limitations: This paper is focused on theoretical framework without extended empirical analysis of existing data. Further research should focus on confronting those findings with data on the banking or automotive sectors. Practical implications: This paper provides theoretical foundations for analyzing markets with costly innovation and entry by new competitors. It provides a set of cases where competition has to be analyzed separately. Originality: Existing industrial organization models do not provide economic explanation for actions of industry incumbents faced with innovating entrants that match observed actions in some industries. Such actions are mostly explained by management inaction and not rational economic choices. The presented model provides a novel way to approach this issue which does not contradict rational strategic choices of market incumbents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Vox is a relatively new Spanish political party, founded in 2013. However, it was not until more than 5 years later that the party achieved any form of political representation at the national, local, and regional levels. Since its electoral breakthrough in the general elections of April 2019, numerous academics have debated Vox's ideological orientation. Specifically, the discussion has centered on the extent to which Vox aligns with the political family of populist radical right parties. This study engages with this academic debate and seeks to examine the characteristics that define Vox's current political stance. To this end, the article analyzes two key concepts within the Spanish radical right: the 'Iberosphere' and 'Hispanic nativism'. The examination of these concepts provides insight into Vox's role as a bridge between radical right parties on both sides of the Atlantic. Furthermore, in the case of the Spanish party, it reveals a strategic trajectory that is highly atypical within the populist radical right parties. Overall, this analysis helps to refine and deepen the understanding of both Vox's ideological positioning and its strategic role within the broader context of the Western radical right. PATENT applications ,GOVERNMENT business enterprises ,GOVERNMENT corporations ,PATENTS ,BUSINESS enterprises - Abstract
Based on a dual‐differential model of the number of patent applications issued by A‐share enterprises from 2014 to 2019, this article analyzes impact of Venture Capital (VC) guided by government on company's innovation and their internal mechanisms. The results show that the number of patent applications increases after enterprises are invested directly or indirectly by the government guiding fund, indicating that this kind of VC has a positive guidance on enterprise innovation. However, after further studying by subdividing patent types, it is found that enterprises pay less attention to invention patents, which hold higher technical requirements, and focus on "quantity" rather than "quality" in patent applications. This result also reflects that the investment of VC guided by government promotes the overall enterprise innovation, but the positive effect on the innovation quality is not significant. Our article not only affirms the positive influence of VC guided by government on enterprise innovation, but also puts forward some suggestions on the management of government guiding fund. Remanufacturing is a life‐cycle renewal process recognised as one of the most effective circular strategies that can be adopted to achieve sustainable production. However, its potential has been hindered by the absence of an integrated perspective across various business domains to catalyse successful remanufacturing efforts. This paper aims to explore how such an integrated perspective can facilitate the creation of sustainable value within remanufacturing business models. To fill this gap, an in‐depth longitudinal case study was conducted on how remanufacturing practices can be effectively implemented in the white goods sector. The research identifies four fundamental mechanisms that, when used synergistically, pave the way for a successful remanufacturing approach yielding triple‐bottom‐line benefits. The study contributes to the remanufacturing literature by illustrating how (i) moving from products to solutions that fulfil customer priorities, (ii) resequencing business processes according to customer‐oriented logic, (iii) enhancing the clock‐speed of decision‐making and (iv) sharing risks within the supply chain, can unveil new strategic positioning for sustainable value creation. From a practical perspective, it advocates for the adept management of remanufacturing uncertainties through continuous, active questioning of "Who‐What‐How" choices and the cultivation of circular and organic interdependencies. - Abstract
Although Business Intelligence (BI) and Business Analytics (BA) have been widely adopted in the tourism sector, comparative research using BI and BA remains scarce. To fill this gap in the literature, the present study explores how BI and BA contribute to strategic innovation, address operational challenges, and enhance customer engagement. To this end, using a dual-method approach that incorporates both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, we first conduct a bibliometric analysis using SciMAT. This sets the stage for the subsequent application of the Gioia methodology. Specifically, we perform an in-depth qualitative examination of a total of 12 scholarly articles on the tourism sector, evenly split between BI and BA. Upon synthesizing the findings on the roles of BI and BA, we outline distinct pathways through which they influence tourism sector management solutions. Based on the obtained evidence, we argue that, while BI focuses on technological advancement and operational integration, BA is more aligned with predictive analytics and data-driven customer engagement. These insights provide managers with a better understanding of the roles of BI and BA, serving as a guide for their strategic applications, from improving service quality to innovating in customer engagement. The novelty of this approach lies in its use of the Gioia methodology, in a comparative analysis to evaluate the separate yet complementarily roles of BI and BA, and in enhancing tourism industry practices. The study aimed to identify the current situation and the extent to which strategic innovation contributes to enhancing human resource practices and creating competitiveness for higher education institutions. The problem of the study was represented in the following question: Does strategic innovation in human resource practices create a competitive advantage for higher education institutions? The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach alongside a historical method, and it was applied to the employees of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, with a sample size of 66 individuals. Using the statistical program (SPSS), the data was analyzed, leading to several results and recommendations, the most important of which are: The study indicated that more than 87% of the participants had not received training courses on strategic innovation, and the same percentage (87%) had not received training courses on competitive advantage. The respondents expressed neutrality regarding several aspects, including: the university successfully promotes a decentralized approach by delegating authority to employees to determine performance levels, and the university is concerned with analyzing data related to competitors to understand their strengths and weaknesses. We also reached several recommendations, including: We recommend that the university administration focus on enhancing training courses for employees, especially regarding competitive advantage enablers such as strategic innovation, agility, and other modern methods to create excellence and improve the university's image globally and locally. There must be clear strategic policies formulated to retain creative individuals, with a necessity to clarify these policies to the employees. Additionally, we recommend the need to respond to labor market requirements and the ideas of business owners to prepare students according to labor market needs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AbstractAs the hospitality industry grapples with unprecedented crises, the relationship between innovation, strategic thinking and hotel performance during crises emerges as a critical area of exploration. The study investigates the mediating role of innovation in the relationship between strategic thinking and hotel performance during times of crisis. The study employs a quantitative approach and uses a questionnaire to solicit responses from 291 hospitality firms. Partial least squares (PLS) have been used to conduct confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and subsequently structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the hypothesis paths of the study. The study establishes strategic thinking as a catalyst for enhanced organizational performance in the hospitality sector. The study found a positive synergy between strategic thinking and innovation, as strategic thinking catalyzes innovation, which in turn influences overall hotel performance. This synergistic relationship is essential for organizations seeking to survive and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment. The study offers practical insights for practitioners on leveraging strategic thinking and innovation synergy as a strategic tool for enhanced performance in dynamic business environments, as well as positioning themselves for long-term success and resilience.

Business Development (BD) activities have become prevalent in practice, and prior research has demonstrated their potential to enhance and complement the core competencies of enterprises. However, the limited and fragmented existing literature on Business Development highlights the need for a comprehensive integration effort to reassess the theoretical foundation and overall concept. This article comprehensively reviews 125 papers on Business Development, investigates enterprises’ responses to business environment changes (which encompass environmental adaptation and resource leverage, environmental management and resource allocation, environmental creation and resource alignment, and environmental exploration and resource development), and clarifies the evolutionary trajectory of the Business Development literature research stream. Furthermore, we advance a comprehensive conceptual framework and theoretical model to identify a network of constructs and their connections with crucial dimensions of Business Development. The findings of this study significantly contribute to understanding Business Development and provide valuable insights for future research and practice.

This research aims to optimize tourism potential in the Buton Islands, Indonesia, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Big Data Analytics. The study addresses the low tourism potential in the region and constraints in tourism development, such as lack of information and data. Qualitative methods include document analysis, literature studies, and focus group discussions. Quantitative methods involve surveying respondents about the use of GIS and Big Data Analytics in tourism development. Data was collected from government documents, online news, and direct observation of tourist sites. The results emphasize the importance of IT and GIS in developing the tourism sector in the Buton Islands, particularly in Baubau City and South Buton Regency. GIS is crucial for identifying and managing tourism potential, while Big Data Analytics helps optimize development by analyzing visitation trends, tourist preferences, and consumer behavior patterns. The integration of these technologies can improve tourist experience and efficiency of tourism-related public services. By integrating GIS, Big Data Analytics, and Information Technology, local government and stakeholders can collaborate to create a superior tourism experience, support local economic growth, and ensure the sustainability of the natural and cultural environment in the Buton Islands.

This doctoral thesis presents a preliminary theoretical framework on how terrorist organizations innovate their strategy. The project carries out a structured, focused comparison among three historical organizations (ETA, PIRA, and Red Brigades) and, in doing so, investigates the rationale and dynamics of the strategic innovation process. The ensuing theoretical framework delineates strategic innovation as a process displaying a gradual and progressive build-up, and articulated in the stages of Evaluation, Formulation, Adoption, and Implementation. While the first two stages involve a range of different actors, the leadership and the decision-making bodies play a considerable role in adopting and implementing innovations. Contrary to previous scholarship, the framework also discusses how strategic innovation is not necessarily related to escalations in violence. Similarly, it highlights an important difference between strategic change and strategic innovation. Finally, the case studies also explore the important role that cultural artefacts play in the innovation process. While acknowledging the limitations of the proposed theoretical framework, the thesis also presents a few suggestions for future research.

- Abstract
This study attempts to investigate the "dynamic IC transformation process" namely "knowledge inputs" → "processors" → "knowledge outputs" (I →P →O) model within the context of higher education institutes (HEIs) in Pakistan. In this knowledge era, HEIs are considered repositories of "knowledge" that are continuously reconfiguring and nurturing themselves with existing knowledge assets. Therefore, this study proposes a "dynamic IC transformation" (I →P →O) model to analyze the relationship between intellectual capital (IC) initiatives as "knowledge inputs" (I), "strategic innovation" and "process capabilities" as "processors" (P), and the performance of HEIs as "knowledge-outputs" (O). To test the model, we conducted a survey (questionnaire) involving 258 usable responses from teaching and non-teaching staff working in public and private HEIs in Pakistan. In this sense, we employed a parallel mediation analysis through process macro to evaluate the indirect effects of "processors" between "knowledge inputs" and "knowledge output." The study identifies that "knowledge inputs" significantly influence the performance of HEIs in terms of "knowledge output." However, the explanatory power of human capital as an essential element of IC initiatives is more detrimental than that of structural and relational capital initiatives. Further, results indicate that "processors," i.e., "strategic innovation" and "process capabilities," partially mediate the relationship between "knowledge inputs" and "knowledge output." Thus, this study contributes to ongoing academic debates about how the "dynamic IC transformation model" works in producing "knowledge outputs" by leveraging "strategic innovation" and "process capabilities" of HEIs. Further, this study also offers fruitful implications for academicians that may turn the IC initiatives as "knowledge inputs" into the development of viable opportunities for HEIs as "entrepreneurial" or "stakeholder" universities by valuing their knowledge assets. The purpose of this research is to design a framework for strategic innovation in sports businesses based on Grounded theory. Data was collected using interviews, which involved 19 participants including sports management professors, sports business owners, as well as sports managers. Based on Grounded theory, 156 open codes, 18 substantive codes, and 6 theoretical codes were identified. The factors affecting strategic innovation in sports businesses included institutional factors (culture, institutions, and laws), innovative human resources (providing innovative ideas, recognizing innovative opportunities, and strategic thinking), knowledge of the team and business environment (team, market, and macroeconomics), infrastructure (education, technology, and university-industry connection), and management of innovative business processes (marketing research, branding, empowerment, and human resource capability). The development of strategic innovation in sports businesses is a topic that has received less attention, and understanding the factors affecting it can provide the basis for promoting and developing the innovation ecosystem in sports.

Business model innovation has become a crucial factor for firms to remain competitive and achieve sustained success in today's rapidly changing business environment. The concept of business model innovation involves fundamentally changing the way a firm creates, delivers, and captures value, with the aim of creating value for the customer and capturing value for the company. However, despite its importance, the factors that drive firms to innovate their business models are not well understood and often assumed to be driven solely by profit. To address this gap in understanding, this research aims to examine the drivers of business model innovation in firms. Through a review of existing literature and a single case study, the study will explore the motivations and pressures that lead firms to seek new business models, as well as the internal and external factors that influence their ability to successfully implement these innovations. The case study will provide a deeper insight into the real-world complexities of business model innovation and will shed light on the practical considerations and challenges that firm faced in this process. The findings of this study will contribute to a deeper understanding of the drivers of business model innovation. By exploring the strategic, organizational, and external factors that influence the decision to innovate, this study will provide a more nuanced view of the complex process of business model innovation. In conclusion, this research will provide valuable insights for both practitioners and scholars on the factors that drive firms to innovate their business models and the factors that may influence their ability to successfully implement these innovations. By exploring the complexities of business model innovation through a single case study, this research will contribute to the existing literature and provide a practical example of a firm looking to stay ahead of the curve and maintain a competitive advantage. Technology-enabled innovation has increasingly puzzled and attracted strategists, since it offers opportunities to create new sources of value by challenging traditional approaches. To address this topic, research efforts have focused on the emerging construct of Business Model (BM), that describes how an enterprise creates and delivers value to customers, enticing them to pay and converting payments into profits. However, the relationship between Business Model Innovation (BMI) and Strategic Innovation (SI) is still unclear. This study investigates this relationship by examining the role of technological change in it. To this end, we propose a conceptual framework that classifies technological change according to three dimensions: trajectory, intent, and effect. Second, based on this framework, we conduct a multiple-case study with 16 companies to identify different innovation paths that arise from the interplay between SI, BMI, and technological change. Our findings reveal eight types of innovation paths that depend on the mediating or triggering role of the technological change faced. This result suggests a transitivity in the BM-Strategy and BMI-SI relationships. Change is the essence of BMI and SI, both their origin and outcome, and acts as the fil rouge that connects SI with its execution through BMI. Additionally, we shed light on the role of different actors (top, middle and low management and key employees) in SI and BMI, depending on their level of technological change empowerment. The study shows that BMI can survive without supervision and strategic commitment from top management, being primarily led by line managers and employees invested in experimentation at an operational level. This claim reveals the need to focus on the "technological change empowerment" given to line management and employees, balancing it with an ability to supervise and consolidate BMI. Overall, this study contributes to a better understanding of the relationship between SI and BMI and the role of technological change in it. Our findings provide insights for firms to strategically operate and govern technological change and leverage it to innovate their business models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the relationship between the Chinese government's Strategic Emerging Industry Support Program and the innovation level of strategic emerging industry firms. We use panel data of A-share-listed firms from 2007 to 2017 and apply a difference-in-difference model. We obtain evidence that firms exhibit strategic innovation behavior in response to the Strategic Emerging Industry Support Program, as evidenced by firms focusing solely on increasing their research and development (R&D) input and number of patent outputs, neglecting innovation efficiency and quality, and failing to convert patent results into firm profitability. Moreover, we observe that the aforementioned support program, through the provision of subsidies, tax incentives, and easy access to credit, as well as the reduction in stock liquidity, prompts increases in firm R&D input and, consequently, the number of patents firms are granted. Our results also indicate that for state-owned enterprises in strategic emerging industries, government support in the form of subsidies and tax incentives has the strongest effect on innovation; by contrast, for private firms, innovation is more strongly stimulated through convenient credit support, tax incentives, and reduced stock liquidity. This paper provides empirical evidence on whether industrial policy promotes firm innovation and argues more generally whether government industrial policy is effective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Under the conduction of decentralized environmental governance, environmental punishment has become a pivotal complementary tool for local government environment management and an intuitive reflection of governance efficiency. However, the literature concerning the effect of local government environmental punishment towards the green technology innovation of enterprises is void. To bridge this gap, this paper adopts the fixed‐effect model to investigate the impact of government environmental punishment on green technology innovation based on the data of China's A‐share listed enterprises from 2010 to 2020. The study finds that the punishment can significantly promote enterprises' green technology innovation. The distinction between the type of innovation reveals that environmental punishment promotes substantive green technology innovation of enterprises, while the effect on strategic green technology innovation is not significant. As far as the influence path is concerned, external pressure and internal incentive are both important mechanisms for environmental punishment to facilitate the green technology innovation of enterprises. Heterogeneity analysis demonstrates that the positive effect of punishment on green technology innovation is more prominent in non‐state‐owned enterprises, heavily polluting industries and regions with strong public awareness of environmental protection. Further discussion reveals that the facilitative effect of punishment on green technology innovation also significantly improves the environmental performance of enterprises. This paper not only confirms the positive role of government intervention in environmental protection, but also provides practical reference for how to improve enterprises' competitiveness. Product innovation and product planning are two domains that are closely related to each other. However, the distinction between these two domains is still unclear. In addition, the use of terms within the domains can also be different. For example, disruptive, breakthrough, and radical innovation are used simultaneously. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a common usage of terms within the domains, so that both areas can be related to each other. For this, a systematic literature review is carried out. Hence, the two domains were clustered. The focus of the clustering was on product innovation, which was divided into radical, strategic, and incremental levels and product planning was used as a cluster element, differentiating between new products, new product generation and product modification. In total, three clusters and 20 characteristics per domain were identified and linked to bridge the gap between the terms product innovation and planning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In uncertain and dynamic environments, established companies must engage in strategic “innovation-to-business” to continuously develop new technology/market-combinations as competitive advantages for future profitable growth. To achieve this, they can leverage Research & Development (R&D) and similar innovation functions for such strategic renewal. However, this requires enhancing their innovation management system, as they are traditionally focused on more incremental technological innovations for established markets. A theoretical framing of the key concepts provides an organizational framework with the required dynamic capabilities and organizational characteristics for such an innovation management system. The following case study of the Schaeffler Group presents their enhanced innovation management system in practice. Summarized as P 3, this includes specifically organizational measures for an agile Portfolio management, systematic Process, and supporting organization of the involved People. Together, these measures help Schaeffler to establish and apply the required dynamic capabilities and ambidextrous orientation for successful “innovationto-business”. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Conducting research with a theoretical contribution, reviewing the theoretical background without bias, and identifying emerging research areas are one of the most important concerns of every researcher in conducting academic research. The abundance of useless and scientifically worthless research in the country doubles the need to pay attention to these issues. One of the existing strategies to solve these problems is the approach of academic social networks analysis. Considering research areas as social structures, these networks are drawn based on bibliometric criteria such as co-citation, citation, bibliographic pairing, co-occurrence of vocabulary, and co-authorship, each of which has its uses and are used to answer special questions. In this article, the approach to social networks analysis will be introduced first, and then the bibliometric criteria used in drawing these networks will be examined. It is also stated that each of the drawn networks is suitable for answering what questions. Then, the step-by-step stages of implementing a social network analysis are introduced. Also, the most important databases used to collect the necessary meta-data are introduced and some existing tools to analyze and illustrate academic social networks are briefly reviewed. Examples of applications of this approach are also shown. Methodology: In order to conduct academic social network analysis, a 5-step process must be performed. In the first step, the research design should be determined. The analysis is done to answer what questions and what method is suitable to answer those questions. In the second step, it is necessary to collect bibliographic data. First, you have to choose the right database and then, by choosing the right search keywords in a specific time frame, search and collect the necessary metadata for network drawing and analysis. In the third step, the collected data should be analyzed. In this step, the appropriate bibliographic software should be selected and the data should be prepared for analysis. Illustration of the networks is done in the fourth step, in which the appropriate method and tool of the illustration should be determined by the researcher. In the final step, the drawn networks should be described and interpreted. Results and Discussion: Each of the networks drawn by metadata collected from scientific databases has a specific application. Citation networks are used to identify the most important and influential works, authors, and publications. Also, based on the citation networks drawn based on the timeline, it is possible to identify the development process of a research field, its theoretical foundation, and theoretical fields affecting the research field. Co-citation networks that are drawn based on the cited references of the selected documents provide the most relevant sources for research. Also, the clusters obtained from this analysis show the historical streams of the research field. The bibliographic coupling networks which are the reverse of co-citation examine the cited documents and the clusters obtained from them showing the contemporary streams of the research field under investigation. Co-authorship networks are a measure of cooperation between authors, institutions, publications, and countries. Word co-occurrence networks identify important themes in a domain, and as a content analysis technique, they are the only network that uses the actual content of documents. The output of the word co-occurrence network is a network of themes and shows the conceptual space of a field. Conclusion: Conducting targeted and useful research is one of the important issues faced by researchers and students, especially graduate students who have to conduct research in the form of a thesis or dissertation. From choosing new topics to reviewing literature and theoretical background in an appropriate way, all of them are problems that researchers have to overcome, and in this way, they need a clear strategy and roadmap. The social network analysis approach based on bibliographic criteria is one of the strategies proposed to help solve these problems. The analysis of academic social networks that are formed based on bibliographic criteria such as citation, co-citation, co-authorship, word co-occurrence, and bibliographic coupling, by adding an objective and quantitative accuracy, reduces the consequences of personal reviews and subjective biases of researchers and It helps to get a more comprehensive understanding of research areas. Each of these networks is suitable for answering specific questions. Using the approach of social network analysis can have a significant help in guiding researchers in conducting targeted research. The use of this method helps researchers, especially newcomers to a field, to get a better understanding of that field, get acquainted with important sources for study, and helps them determine their research position and advance research flows in a specific field. For this reason, getting familiar with this approach and using it is one of the topics that researchers and higher education institutions should pay attention to in order to reduce the amount of aimless and useless research.

Sustainable entrepreneurship is essential for solving the issue of economic and social stability. This paper is about the determinants of entrepreneurship among green innovation and strategic innovation. The research studies the communication and R&D variables that impact entrepreneurship development. The literature shows that green innovation is vital in developing strategic orientation. Entrepreneurship must work on R&D to gain economic and social stability. Entrepreneurship development is a dependent variable, and communication and R&D are independent variables. This paper evaluates the performance of Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and the Artificial Neural Network Regression (ANN) approach for estimating entrepreneurship development (ED) in China from 2000 to 2021. For this work, nine independent variables related to entrepreneurial development were selected, which include CO2 emissions (CO2), GDP growth (GDP), Total greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), Computer, communications, and other services (CCS), Nitrous oxide emissions (NO2), Personal remittances, received (PRR), Research and development expenditure (R&D), New businesses registered (NBR), and patents in environment-related technologies (PERT). Data were gathered from the World Bank (WB) official data bank portal. The highest correlation (−0.85 and −0.71) with ED was observed with GHG, followed by a strong correlation with R & D. The MLR model generated 0.78 R
2 (error = 0.26) whereas the ANN model produces 0.83 R2 (error = 0.01). The results of the ANN showed that the association among parameters is strong. Ten input variables and 15 hidden neurons were used to estimate the dependent variable. The process took 87 steps, and the optimum result had a Sum of Square Error of 0.001.The top 5 essential variables are NO, NBR, GHG, R&D, and CO2. The least essential variables are PPR and CCS, respectively, with the lowest variable importance (VI) score. This work is unique in the sense that it covers the research gap with new advanced techniques (ANN) applied to time series data. We believe the idea that we developed is a novel approach for social scientists, entrepreneurial development, social stability, and a sustainable environment. The findings of this research can benefit entrepreneurs in many different ways. By understanding the effects of social environmental stability on their success, entrepreneurs can better tailor their strategies to ensure they get the best possible results.
