Herein, photophysical and electronic properties of a newly synthesized D-π-A-π-D benzothiadiazole derivative referred to 'R' molecule, were theoretically improved. Five copolymers noted cop 1, cop 2, cop 3, cop 4 and cop 5 are theoretically designed. Each has a D–π–A architecture based on triarylamine used as a donor unit D for its high charge carrier mobility and its excellent stability, and five heterocyclic acceptors A with high carriers mobility. The aim is searching narrow band and high efficiency donor materials for organic photovoltaic cells. Using density functional theory DFT and time-dependent density functional theory TD-DFT, molecular orbitals, electronic and optical properties, exciton binding energies and charge transfer process are all predicted for all copolymers. The results show that all copolymers can be used with (PCBM) to design organic heterojunction photovoltaic cells. While comparing the various copolymers, we have noticed that cop 2 and cop 5 show the best optical properties, exciton dissociation and holes transport capability is more favorable for them, which improves short-circuit current (Jsc) and a fill factor (FF). Finally, the power conversion of composites involving cop 2/PCBM as well as cop 5/PCBM, respectively 8% and 9%, provides their efficiency. These results demonstrate that cop 2 and cop 5 will be two promising candidates for organic photovoltaic performance devices.

Benzo[1,2-b:5-B’]dithiophene (BDT)–based small molecules with acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) structure were designed based on the experimental system BDTT-S-TR (1) for use as potential donor materials for organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices. Their geometry structures, electronic properties and other key parameters related to OPVs such as absorption spectra, energetic driving forces ΔE L-L, power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) and intramolecular charge transfer properties have been investigated by means of density functional theory (DFT) and time dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) methods. These have been exploited as donor materials for a heterojunction with [6,6] phenyl-C71-butyric acid methyl ester (PC70BM) as acceptor material. Based on Marks model, an excellent agreement between the experimental and predicted PCE was obtained for the reported system 1/PC70BM and a significant improvement in PCEs of BHJ devices based on 2-4/PC70BM was manifested. The charge transfer rates of the interfacial charge transfer Kint er−CT and recombination Kint er −CR in 1-4/PC70BM heterojunctions have been calculated using Marcus-Levich-Jortner rate equation. The calculations show that the ratios Kint er-CT / kint er-CR for the 2-4/PC70BM heterojunctions are ~104 times higher than that of the 1/PC70BM. From these predictions, we reached our purpose to provide rational design of three novel molecules that will be more promising candidates for high-efficiency SMs OPVs materials.

Introduction Les étudiants en début du cursus suivent la même formation hospitalo-universitaire, cependant, ils sont peu nombreux à choisir délibérément la médecine générale comme discipline d'exercice médical. Notre objectif est de préciser auprès des étudiants en médecine, les facteurs qui déterminent le choix de la médecine générale comme carrière et leur vision de cette discipline. Méthodes Etude descriptive transversale menée auprès d'un échantillon d’étudiants inscrits à la faculté de médecine de Sousse (Tunisie) pour l'année universitaire 2012-2013. Le recueil des données a été pratiqué par l'intermédiaire d'un questionnaire conçu pour les fins de ce travail. La saisie et l'analyse des données ont été effectuées par le logiciel SPSS 18.0. Résultats Notre étude a porté sur 388 étudiants dont 69,5% étaient du genre féminin. L’âge moyen était de 22,1 ± 2,8 ans. Cent étudiants (25,8%) avaient un parent cadre de santé sans que cela n'ait une influence sur le choix de carrière. A l'entrée à la faculté, seulement 7,1% (n = 27) voulaient faire de la médecine générale leur carrière. Le changement de choix vers la médecine générale est statistiquement différent à l'entrée et à la sortie de la faculté chez les internes finissants. Conclusion Afin d'attirer davantage les étudiants vers la médecine générale, il serait judicieux d'adopter des changements majeurs touchant l'enseignement théorique et pratique et de modifier les conditions de travail en fonction des attentes des générations futures.

With the increasing number of patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting, the incidence of reoperative coronary grafting is also increasing. Reoperative coronary artery bypass grafting is associated with morbidity and mortality rates greater than those of primary coronary operations. Left thoracotomy can provide access for reoperation when repeat median sternotomy is extremely dangerous. Coronary artery grafting on a beating heart and via left thoracotomy can be a good alternative strategy when redo coronary surgery is necessary in the circumflex or left anterior descending territories.
