Abstract

Battery energy storage systems (BESS) with an energy management system (EMS) were suggested in this research that consists of a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) charging station (CS) equipped with battery energy storage. The primary aim of this energy management system was to regulate the amount of energy sent to the electric vehicle (EV) while taking into account the cost and carbon dioxide emissions caused in grid connection. Consequently, our research offered a two-stage optimization process with multiple objectives to lessen the financial and ecological footprint of the charging station. An energy schedule was generated in the first optimization stage by considering factor of grid CO2 emissions on an hourly basis, the PV forecast, the power cost with the BESS initial state of charge (SoC). The maximum power that the grid was allowed to deliver the EV was the same as the output from this first stage. The second optimization step employed, model predictive control (MPC) to regulate the flow of energy among BESS, the PV, and the grid. An operational Photo Voltaic/BESS charging station used to validate the proposed EMS. The new EMS was then used to evaluate the charging station’s efficiency in this research for one month of data, taking three main aspects into consideration: environmental, economic, and energy. The optimization results suggest that the new energy profile ensures a 36% drop in emissions and a 33% drop in energy cost.

Abstract

Multilevel inverter plays an important role in the field of modern power electronics and is widely being used for many high voltage and high power industrial and commercial applications. The objective of this paper is to design and simulate the modified asymmetric multilevel inverter topology with reduced number of switches. The proposed inverter topology synthesizes 21-level output voltage during symmetric operation using three DC voltage sources and twelve switches 8 main switches and 4 auxiliary switches. The different methods of calculating the switching angles are presented in this paper. The MATLAB/Simulink software is used to simulate the proposed inverter. The performance of the proposed inverter is analyzed and the corresponding simulation results are presented in this paper.

Abstract

The Regenerative Suspension System is a type of suspension system which recovers the energy from mechanism that converts the rumbling, kinetic, damper movements of the suspension into the electricity. The converted electricity goes either directly to an electric motor immediately (or) store in the battery until needed. The main objective is that to observe various methodologies of this recovery system and select the most effective one in regarding to certain principles. This system allows to recovers the energy each time when the dampers move. This system initial cost would be high, for that the various design are observed through a proposed analytical methodology with the optimal design of the system and components to reduce the price. The regenerative suspensions have drawn in much consideration as of late to improve vibration constricting execution as well as the decrease of energy dissemination also, the capability of energy recovery are talked about, then, at that point, the innovative work of regenerative suspension is investigated, and the energy reaping plans and their attributes are summed up and commented. At last observing various methodologies the effective experimental setup to be identified as the linear electromagnetic system type along with the rack and pinion to recover through the observed reading in the setup replicate the conditions. Taking everything into account, just consolidating vibration decreasing execution and energy gathering productivity could the regenerative suspensions at any point have a promising possibility. Abstract

Ocean acidification (OA) is beginning to have noticeable negative impact on calcification rate, shell structure and physiological energy budgeting of several marine organisms; these alter the growth of many economically important shellfish including oysters. Early life stages of oysters may be particularly vulnerable to OA-driven low pH conditions because their shell is made up of the highly soluble form of calcium carbonate (CaC[O.sub.3]) mineral, aragonite. Our long-term C[O.sub.2] perturbation experiment showed that larval shell growth rate of the oyster species Crassostrea hongkongensis was significantly reduced at pH < 7.9 compared to the control (8.2). To gain new insights into the underlying mechanisms of low-pH-induced delays in larval growth, we have examined the effect of pH on the protein expression pattern, including protein phosphorylation status at the pediveliger larval stage. Using two-dimensional electrophoresis and mass spectrometry, we demonstrated that the larval proteome was significantly altered by the two low pH treatments (7.9 and 7.6) compared to the control pH (8.2). Generally, the number of expressed proteins and their phosphorylation level decreased with low pH. Proteins involved in larval energy metabolism and calcification appeared to be down-regulated in response to low pH, whereas cell motility and production of cytoskeletal proteins were increased. This study on larval growth coupled with proteome change is the first step toward the search for novel Protein Expression Signatures indicative of low pH, which may help in understanding the mechanisms involved in low pH tolerance., Introduction Many benthic marine invertebrates produce pelagic larval stages that are specialized and adapted for dispersal and habitat selection.
