La indústria de l'agricultura genera nombrosos residus d'origen vegetal. En particular, l'explotació del cànem produeix un subproducte anomenat canemuixa. Aquest, està format per encenalls de fibres de cànem que es converteixen en un residu sense valorització. Aquest projecte vol donar una segona oportunitat al residu de la canemuixa. L'estudi principalment s'orienta en l'obtenció d'un material que recobreixi i protegeixi els cassetons de les condicions d'humitat provocades pel formigó en el sector de l'edificació, a la vegada que se li dona un nou ús, per aprofitar un material com la canemuixa, molt fàcil de produir i amb un cost molt reduït. Aquest treball és una continuació directa del treball de final de grau d'Estudi de la viabilitat de la fabricació de panells aïllants tèrmics amb residus de cànem" de l'Andrea Avellaneda [1]i del treball final de màster "Estudi de la viabilitat de la fabricació de panells aïllants acústics amb residus de cànem"[2] de Josep Casas. A causa dels bons resultats obtinguts per aquests dos treballs a l'hora de produir els seus prototips, tant de canemuixa i fibres de papereres d'origen verge com de canemuixa amb cartó de caixes usades. Per dur a terme el desenvolupament del nostre projecte farem servir les provetes de canemuixa amb cartó, que van dissenyar i comprovar les seves propietats mecàniques en el TFM de Josep Casas. Aquest estudi començarà amb la fabricació de 36 provetes de canemuixa i cartó, de diferents mides, amb les que realitzarem assajos de resistència mecànica, i d'humitat, d'aquestes 36 algunes provetes estaran per seguretat. Un cop fetes les provetes, les impregnarem un recobriment de colofònia amb acetona. Creant una resina resistent a la humitat, on la seva funció serà de resistir les condicions alcalines i les tensions mecàniques provocades pel formigó. Un cop recobertes i assecades les provetes, les provetes destinades als assajos de compressió i flexió aniran a la cambra climàtica i les de cisallament de gruix

There is currently a growing need for sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. One promising candidate is hemp shiv, which is considered waste material. hemp shiv exhibits lightweight properties and high insulation capabilities. This study focuses on the development of a material based in hemp shiv, recycled cardboard fibers is used as binder material, with the addition of a vegetable coating (colophony and arabic gum) for moisture protection and citric acid to enhance cellulose crosslinking. Thermal insulation properties were assessed measuring the heat transfer through the material. Acoustic insulation properties were evaluated using a Kundt tube within a frequency range of 100–6500 Hz. Mechanical tests, including compression, shear, and bending, were performed to assess the material’s strength. Additionally, moisture and fire resistance properties, as well as microstructure analysis, were examined. The influence of citric acid in the cellulose crosslinking was verified using FTIR-ATR spectroscopy. Results demonstrated that a higher percentage of hemp shiv content led to improved insulation performance, achieving attenuation values greater than 0.85– 0.95 dB/dB and a thermal conductivity of 0.02–0.03 W/m K. These findings indicate a great performance compared to commercial materials. The coating shields the material from external factors. En aquest treball veurem com afecta l’alçada dels edificis de maçoneria no reforçada en la seva capacitat estructural respecte a moviments sísmics. Té l’objectiu d’oferir una millor representació del parc urbà de Barcelona i d’assistir a un projecte que pretén fer el mateix per a tots els parcs urbans d’Europa. Per fer-ho, s’utilitzen els mètodes estàtics no lineals, més concretament el mètode N2 i s’obtenen els resultats en forma de gràfics bilineals i corbes de fragilitat. A partir d’aquests resultats podem afirmar que els edificis més alts són capaços de suportar uns desplaçaments més elevats però al mateix temps requereixen d’uns esforços i acceleracions menors per a arribar-hi, això succeeix ja que a menor alçada d’un edifici, aquest és més rígid però també és menys dúctil., En este proyecto veremos cómo afecta la altura de los edificios de mampostería no reforzada en su capacidad estructural respecto a movimientos sísmicos. Tiene el objetivo de ofrecer una mejor representación del parque urbano de Barcelona y de asistir a un proyecto que pretende hacer lo mismo para todos los parques urbanos de Europa. Para hacerlo, se utilizan los métodos estáticos no-lineales, de forma más concreta el método N2 y se obtienen los resultados en forma de gráficos bilineales y curvas de fragilidad. A partir de estos resultados podemos afirmar que los edificios más altos son capaces de soportar unos desplazamientos más elevados pero al mismo tiempo requieren de unos esfuerzos y aceleraciones menores para llegar a ellos, esto sucede debido al hecho que como memos altura tiene un edificio, este es más rígido pero a su vez es menos dúctil., In this project we will see how height affects the structural capacity of unreinforced masonry buildings against seismic movement. The project has the objective of offering a better representation of Barcelona’s urban park and assisting a project which is doing the same for all urban parks across Europe. This is done with non-static procedures, more specifically the N2 procedure and we obtain the results as bilineal graphs and fragility curves. From these results we can assure that the higher the buildings, the bigger displacements they can suffer but at the same time the effort and acceleration required to do so are lower, this happens because the lower the building, they are more rigid but at the same time less ductile.

Este proyecto incluye el diseño de un alerón trasero de Formula 1 el cual cumple con la normativa técnica de la FIA y ha sido analizado mediante simulaciones CFD para estudiar el funcionamiento del DRS., El tema de este proyecto de final de grado fue elegido por el alumno por su interés en la materia y por su pasión hacia los deportes de motor en general. En un principio, sus conocimientos de aerodinámica y de la normativa de esta competición eran prácticamente inexistentes por lo que, des del inicio, el objetivo principal del alumno ha sido aprender sobre el tema. Concretando un poco más, los objetivos del proyecto eran diseñar un alerón trasero de Fórmula 1 que cumpliera la normativa y tuviera un comportamiento similar a los utilizados por los equipos reales para así poder entender el funcionamiento del DRS y su gran importancia a la hora de adelantar. A lo largo de este documento se describen de forma detallada todos los pasos que se han llevado a cabo hasta llegar al modelo final del alerón. Empezando por la fase de investigación y comprensión del reglamento técnico de la FIA, pasando por la elección de los perfiles y el modelado del alerón terminando con las simulaciones CFD son, a grandes rasgos, las fases principales que han constituido este proyecto. En cada una de ellas se han empleado conocimientos adquiridos a lo largo de los cuatro años de carrera, pero también ha sido necesario un trabajo exhaustivo de investigación y de aprendizaje en casi todas las partes. Concluyendo con la opinión del autor, ha sido un verdadero placer realizar este proyecto. Ha sido una gran oportunidad para aprender muchísimo sobre un tema apasionante y, a pesar de tratarse de un proyecto académico, los resultados obtenidos son concordantes con la realidad por lo que la valoración del proyecto es muy positiva., The topic for this Bachelor’s Degree Final Project was chosen by the student because of his interest on the subject and his overall passion for motorsports. At the start of the project, his knowledge about aerodynamics and technical regulations where close to none and that is why, from the very beginning, his main goal with this project was to learn as much as possible about the chosen topic. In a more specific matter, the main goals for this thesis were to design an F1 rear wing that complied with the FIA technical regulations and that performed similarly to real rear wings to later analyze the DRS system and its importance in overtaking. Throughout this document, all the steps taken in order to get to the final design of the wing are described. Starting with the regulations’ comprehension and research phase, later choosing the Airfoil and modeling of the wing to eventually doing the CFD simulations are the main phases that have constituted this project. In most of them, knowledge learnt in subjects attended during the last four years has been used. But mostly, the biggest part of information needed for each phase has come from research. Concluding with the author’s opinion, it has been a real pleasure carrying out this project. It has been an amazing opportunity to learn a lot about an exciting subject and, even though it is an academic project, the results are pretty close to reality. Overall, the evaluation of the project is very positive.

En el presente documento se realiza un análisis dinámico de la reversibilidad de la dirección de los vehículos catalogados como M1 y N1. Posteriormente, con la aplicación de Matlab, se desarrolla un programa capaz de calcular los esfuerzos aplicados sobre los componentes de la dirección. Este programa se desarrolla de manera que cambiando los parámetros geométricos de los componentes del sistema de dirección sea funcional. De este modo, el programa busca ser de utilidad para diferentes usuarios que quieran analizar e investigar los esfuerzos realizados por la reversibilidad en el sistema de dirección. Para llevar a cabo esta tarea, en este documento se especifican y se explican los componentes de relevancia del sistema de dirección para así seguidamente definir la geometría de la dirección de seis barras. Para el estudio dinámico se ha dividido el sistema en tres diferentes sólidos: 1.Estudio del neumático, 2.Estudio de la dirección, 3.Estudio de la cremallera y piñón. Para finalizar, se interpretan los resultados obtenidos en el programa y se exponen los valores computados en una simulación. Los resultados indican un comportamiento dinámico acorde a la tendencia esperada en la reversibilidad, En el present document es realitza un anàlisi dinàmic de la reversibilitat de la direcció dels vehicles catalogats com M1 i N1. A program is created using Matlab to calculate the forces applied to the steering components. This program is designed so that it remains functional by changing the geometric parameters of the steering system components. In this way. The program aims to be useful for different users who want to analyse and investigate the forces made by reversibility in the steering system. This document explains and specifies the relevant components of the steering system to complete this task. Folllowed by defining the geometry of the six-bar linkage steering. For the dynamic study, the system has been divided into three diferent solids: 1. Tire study, 2. Steering study, 3. Rack and pinion study. Finally, the results obtained in the program are interpreted, and the computer values presented in a simulation. The emergence of innovative high-performance stainless steels is essential at the forefront of material science. This research highlights the meticulous development of a novel high-Mn-N Ni-free austenitic stainless steel via the powder bed fusion laser–based (PBF-LB) technique. We strategically optimized the laser parameters, achieving ultralow porosity and a refned microstructure with defects under 2%. Comprehensive analysis revealed superior dendritic cellular formations at melt pool boundaries, underlining our method’s precision. Unveiling the strength of this novel steel, sample S11 (scanning speed of 800 mm/s and laser power of 147 W) showed a remarkable tensile strength of 1190±20 MPa and an impressive elongation to fracture of 35±3%. Interestingly, twin formations became evident under external loads, enhancing mechanical resistance while preserving ductility. Advanced quantifcation methods were employed to ensure accuracy, especially for low atomic number elements, overcoming previous measurement constraints. This pioneering study introduces a game-changing austenitic Ni-free stainless steel enriched by Mn and N. Data is provided from a validation example for a finite element model of a cold-formed steel trapezoidal sheet. The sheet is subjected to bending, failing due to local buckling. The numerical model and the validation procedure are carried out according to the new Eurocode 3 prEN1993-1-14 Design assisted by finite element analysis. Detailed information concerning all aspects needed to reproduce the example is included: (i) the nominal and measured values of the sheet geometry; (ii) the measured material properties of the steel; (iii) the test setup of the validation experiments; (iv) the experimental results; (v) a complete description of the finite element model and solution procedure; and (vi) the finite element results. Additionally, data related to sensitivity studies on the numerical model is also presented, including the effect of the model domain, meshing, and imperfections (shape, magnitude, direction and combinations). Este proyecto se ha enfocado con el objetivo global de buscar, adquirir, ensamblar y poner en funcionamiento una impresora 3D del mercado. El propósito primordial por el cual seleccioné este proyecto fue la obtención de conocimiento sobre el mundo de la impresión 3D durante el proceso, desde la selección de la impresora hasta su funcionamiento final. Teniendo los objetivos claros de investigar y seleccionar una impresora 3D apropiada en el mercado, realizar un ensamblaje preciso y con atención a los detalles durante el proceso de construcción, desarrollar un manual de usuario para guiar el montaje y poder realizar un uso eficiente, intentaríamos llevar adelante este proyecto. Para lograr todo ello primeramente nos ponemos en contexto, informándonos sobre todo el mundo de la impresión 3D y todo aquello que conlleva, ya sea como los diferentes tipos de impresiones, materiales, etc. Seguidamente realizamos una investigación del mercado de impresoras 3D, del cual sacaremos una selección de tres alternativas y, a través de un VTP, identificaríamos la opción más adecuada para el proyecto según nuestros criterios. No obstante, se lleva a cabo un proceso cuidadoso de ensamblaje de la impresora, fotografiando cada paso y tomando notas de los puntos o aspectos que podrían ser perjudiciales y necesarios de poner hincapié a la hora de realizar el manual. Para así garantizar que la redacción del manual de usuario tenga la suficiente claridad y comprensión. Después de todo, llegamos a la conclusión que tanto la investigación y la elección de la impresora es fundamental para el proceso de adquisición de la impresora 3D. Un ensamblaje adecuado garantiza un funcionamiento óptimo de la impresora. Y la redacción de un manual de usuario detallado, facilita el montaje y un uso efectivo de la impresora. En resumen, este proyecto logra no solo el ensamblaje exitoso de una impresora 3D, sino también la creación de un recurso educativo valioso en forma de un manual de usuario, contribuyendo

El FRCM (Fabric Reinforced Cementitious Matrix), también conocido como TRM (Textile-Reinforced Matrix), se erige como un compuesto altamente prometedor para el refuerzo de estructuras antiguas o deterioradas por el transcurso del tiempo. Su composición lo hace perfectamente compatible con una amplia gama de materiales utilizados en construcción, desde elementos de mampostería antigua hasta diversos tipos de cemento y hormigón. Este compuesto se conforma mediante una matriz de mortero y un refuerzo en forma de malla, comúnmente compuesta por fibras textiles de origen sintético. Su aplicación se extiende al refuerzo de estructuras de hormigón armado y mampostería, emergiendo como una alternativa prometedora a los materiales previamente empleados en este contexto. La versatilidad del FRCM se manifiesta en su capacidad para adaptarse a diversas aplicaciones mediante ajustes en la malla o en la propia composición del mortero. En la actualidad, numerosos estudios buscan caracterizar las propiedades físicas y químicas de estos materiales, llevando a cabo una variedad de experimentos y ensayos con diferentes especímenes. Se exploran diversas combinaciones de morteros, mallas e incluso métodos de fabricación, delineando un campo de investigación en constante evolución. En este trabajo de fin de grado, se investiga la degradación de fibras vegetales, específicamente algodón, cáñamo y sisal, bajo la exposición a distintos entornos. Se abordan los procesos de degradación al sumergir las probetas de FRCM en agua, así como los mechones e hilos de manera individual en un medio alcalino. El documento detalla exhaustivamente el procedimiento utilizado para la fabricación de las distintas probetas, asegurando su correcta preparación para los ensayos. Después de llevar a cabo las pruebas, se concluye que, durante el período estudiado, en las probetas de FRCM la humedad o agua que penetra en el mortero no ha degradado las fibras de manera significativa. En los ensayos de hilos y mechon, The FRCM (Fabric Reinforced Cementitious Matrix), also known as TRM (Textile-Reinforced Matrix), emerges as a highly promising compound for reinforcing ancient or deteriorated structures over time. Its composition makes it perfectly compatible with a wide range of materials used in construction, from elements of ancient masonry to various types of cement and concrete. This compound is formed by a matrix of mortar and a reinforcement in the form of a mesh, commonly composed of synthetic textile fibers. Its application extends to the reinforcement of reinforced concrete structures and masonry, emerging as a promising alternative to materials previously used in this context. The versatility of FRCM is evident in its ability to adapt to various applications through adjustments to the mesh or the mortar composition itself. Currently, numerous studies seek to characterize the physical and chemical properties of these materials, conducting a variety of experiments and tests with different specimens. Various combinations of mortars, meshes, and even manufacturing methods are explored, outlining a constantly evolving field of research. In this undergraduate thesis, the degradation of plant fibers, specifically cotton, hemp, and sisal, is investigated under exposure to different environments. Degradation processes are addressed by immersing FRCM specimens in a neutral medium (water) and individual strands and threads in an alkaline medium. The document thoroughly details the procedure used for the manufacture of different specimens, ensuring their proper preparation for testing. After conducting the tests, it is concluded that, during the studied period, water has not penetrated the mortar structure, thus preventing fiber degradation. Remarkably, cotton has proven to be the most resistant material to the alkaline medium, exhibiting virtually insignificant degradation. Aquest treball es centra en la investigació sobre la capacitat de ponteig que tenen els fils de formigó d’impressió 3D. Això en altres paraules vol dir que s’analitzarà com es comporta un fil de formigó quan aquest ha de fer de pont/connexió per tal de formar una estructura reticulada, per veure, en cas de que el resultat sigui favorable, si pot tenir una aplicació a major escala i poder-se aplicar, per exemple, a la construcció de façanes per edificis, on l’aire pugui circular a través d’elles i poder refrigerar la part més exterior de l’edifici, o bé perquè l’aigua i/o els peixos i altres animals puguin passar a través d’aquesta estructura reticulada en cas d’aplicar-se aquest tipus d’estructures a un medi aquàtic. Quan es parla d’estructura reticulada, es parla de fer un creuament de línies d’impressió, per tal de teixir una mena de xarxa, de dues línies d’impressió d’alçada, on per exemple, les línies horitzontals en l’eix X son el nivell 0, i les horitzontals en l’eix Z son les que es col·loquen a sobre d’aquestes i fan de pont. Això es durà a terme mitjançant la investigació de components a afegir al formigó, ja sigui per variar el valor de la seva densitat, com poden ser els microbòlits de silici o bé, components on recolzar el formigó, per tal de donar una rigidesa i un punt de suport addicional a aquest, com bé podria ser un exemple, una malla vegetal, o de filaments recoberts d’alguna resina. S’analitzaran diferents materials, i d’aquests materials, s’analitzaran diferents consistències per veure al final, si combinant aquests materials amb els components que varien les propietats del formigó, esmentats en el paràgraf anterior, quina de totes aquestes combinacions és la més favorable a l’hora d’intentar donar una solució al problema inicialment plantejat., This document focuses on investigating about concrete’s capacity to bridge gaps when 3D printed. In other words, this means analising its behaviour when it has to connect or be the connection in order to form a, sort of, reticulated structure, to see in case it works, whether this can be applied, for example, when building a building’s facade, where air can circulate through this structure, in order to refrigerate or ventilate the exterior part of said building, or, in another example, so that when this structure is built for underwater environments for whatever the reason may be, fish can pass through it, or even shelter around it. When talking about a reticulated structure, we talk about making a print lines crossover, to weave a sort of web, with two print lines of height, where, for example, horizontal lines within the X axis are level 0, and horizontal lines within the Z axis are level 1. This will be done investigating compontonents to add to the concrete, whether it may be to vary its denisty, like silicon microspheres,or components where concrete can rest on, to give this one an additional support, i.e. a mesh made out of natural components, reinforced by epoxy resin. Different materials will be analised, and also different consistencies of these, to, in the end, see whether combining these materials with properties varying materials, which of these combinations turns out to be the most suited to give these problem a solution to.

Avui en dia, el món de la fibra de carboni està molt desenvolupat i estudiat. Aquest material es troba des del xassís d'un monoplaça de Fórmula 1 fins al manillar d'una bicicleta. Es reconeix la seva alta resistència, baixa densitat i elevada rigidesa. Per aquest motiu, en la fabricació d'un monoplaça de competició, s'opta clarament per aquest polímer reforçat. Aquesta elecció no només es basa en les seves característiques i propietats estructurals, sinó també en el seu acabat final i estètic. En l'actualitat, en l'equip de BCN eMotorsport, la fibra de carboni s'utilitza en diverses parts del cotxe, com ara el monocasc, el seient, l'atenuador d'impactes, el volant i les llandes. Aquest ús té com a objectiu optimitzar cada peça al màxim, buscant un equilibri perfecte entre pes i propietats mecàniques. L'únic element del cotxe que no ha estat optimitzat és el "quick release" o mecanisme d'alliberament ràpid del volant. Aquesta peça, que connecta el volant a l'eix de la direcció i permet al pilot entrar i sortir ràpidament en cas d'emergència, actualment és comercial. En aquest context, la finalitat d'aquest treball se centra en la reducció de pes global del volant i l’augment de la seva ergonomia. Amb aquest objectiu, s'estudia la viabilitat de desenvolupar un nou "quick release" utilitzant fibra de carboni. No obstant això, cal tenir en compte que aquesta peça és un sòlid amb una estructura en 3D i, per tant, no es pot laminar amb fibra de carboni de manera lineal. Això porta a introduir el concepte de fibra forjada, on les fibres de carboni esmicolades es compacten sota pressió, creant així un sòlid amb fibres en direccions totalment aleatòries. Considerant aquest material com a isotròpic, es realitzarà un estudi que obri la possibilitat de crear geometries prèviament considerades impossibles. A més, es compararan les propietats d'aquest nou "quick release" de fibra de carboni amb les d'un model comercial d'alumini. Per tant, aquest treball es dedica a caracteritzar, Hoy en día, el mundo de la fibra de carbono está muy desarrollado y estudiado. Este material es encuentra des del chasis de un monoplaza de Fórmula 1 hasta el manillar de una bicicleta. Es reconoce su alta resistencia, baja densidad y elevada rigidez. Por este motivo, en la fabricación de un monoplaza de competición, se opta claramente por este polímero reforzado. Esta elección no solo es baza en los suyas características y propiedades estructurales, sino también en su acabado final y estético. En la actualidad, en el equipo de BCN eMotorsport, la fibra de carbono se utiliza en varias partes del coche, como por ejemplo el monocasco, el asiento, el atenuador de impactos, el volante y las llantas. Este uso tiene como objetivo optimizar cada pieza al máximo, buscando un equilibrio perfecto entre peso y propiedades mecánicas. El único elemento del coche que no ha sido optimizado es el "quick release" o mecanismo de liberación rápida del volante. Esta pieza, que conecta el volando al eje de la dirección y permite al piloto entrar y salir rápidamente en caso de emergencia, actualmente es comercial. En este contexto, la finalidad de este trabajo se centra en la reducción de peso global del volante y el aumento de su ergonomía. Con este objetivo, se estudia la viabilidad de desarrollar un nuevo "quick release" utilizando fibra de carboni. No obstante esto, hay que tener en cuenta que esta pieza es un sólido con una estructura en 3D y, por lo tanto, no se puede laminar con fibra de carbono de manera lineal. Esto lleva a introducir el concepto de fibra forjada, donde las fibras de carbono desmenuzadas se compactan bajo presión, creando así un sólido con fibras en direcciones totalmente aleatorias. Po, Nowadays, the world of carbon fibre is highly developed and studied. This material is found from the chassis of a Formula 1 single-seater to the handlebars of a bicycle. It is known for its high strength, low density and high rigidity. For this reason, this reinforced polymer is clearly the material of choice in the manufacture of a single-seater racing car. This choice is not only an asset in terms of its characteristics and structural properties, but also in terms of its final finish and aesthetics. Currently, in the BCN eMotorsport team, carbon fibre is used in several parts of the car, such as the monocoque, the seat, the impact attenuator, the steering wheel and the rims. This use aims to optimise each part as much as possible, seeking a perfect balance between weight and mechanical properties. The only element of the car that has not been optimised is the quick release mechanism of the steering wheel. This part, which connects the steering wheel to the steering shaft and allows the driver to get in and out quickly in an emergency, is currently commercially available. The aim of this work focuses on reducing the overall weight of the steering wheel and increasing its ergonomics. To this end, the feasibility of developing a new "quick release" using carbon fibre is being studied. However, it has to be taken into account that this part is a solid with a 3D structure and therefore cannot be laminated with carbon fibre in a linear way. This leads to the introduction of the concept of forged fibre, where the shredded carbon fibres are compacted under pressure, thus creating a solid with fibres in completely random directions. Considering this material as isotropic, a study will be carried out that opens up the possibility of creating geometries previously considered impossible. Every day, technical projects are carried out for the transformation on vehicles, especially on industrial vehicles, as these are designed to meet the needs of the final user and therefore undergo transformations more frequently than passenger cars. In many cases, the calculations and processes involved in the technical project are not highly complex. However, sometimes, before carrying out the technical project, a more detailed or specific study is desirable or required on the vehicle to give more accurate data to the customer. The purpose of this project is to conduct a more thorough study prior to the reform in order to make a more precise choice regarding the vehicle’s bodywork in terms of the structural resistance of the frame, aiming to ensure the safest structural configuration. To achieve this, theoretical calculations will be performed through basic static equations, the first and second Mohr’s theorems, and the results collected through these calculations will be compared with those obtained through simulation using finite element method software. The results obtained in this work have demonstrated the viability of both configurations, with the configuration featuring the crane at the rear overhang yielding more favourable results in terms of structural resistance and safety. However, it has been verified that the obtained results can be improved by reducing the dimensions of the rear overhang in both configurations.

La impressió 3D amb formigó és un nou tipus de fabricació en el món de la construcció, i s'ha utilitzat cada cop més en els últims anys pels avantatges que presenta. La impressió 3D ens permet crear estructures a gran escala de manera més eficient que de manera tradicional, gràcies a l'optimització del morter i, gràcies a aquesta optimització, també trobem un estalvi econòmic pel fet d'utilitzar menys material i menys temps de fabricació. . D'altra banda, hi ha uns beneficis molt grans que només s'aconsegueixen amb la impressió 3D amb morter. Un d'aquests avantatges és el fet que no calen motlles per poder fer estructures complexes, generant així un estalvi de costos quan es vol fabricar una estructura que no sigui plana. En el següent treball s'ha realitzat un banc de formigó imprès en 3D, utilitzant un suport tèxtil per donar resistència al conjunt. Per a això es va dissenyar un banc adequat per al medi ambient, seguint la normativa de la Comunitat Autònoma de Catalunya en matèria de mobiliari urbà, així com les normes d'ergonomia, fent-lo funcional en tots els seus sentits. També s'han fet els plànols de les peces del banc, s'ha escrit tot el procés d'impressió, s'han fet renders fotorealistes del banc al mig, i s'han explicat cadascuna de les seves parts per tal d'optimitzar l'ús del material al màxim. Pel que fa al suport tèxtil, s'han buscat diferents tipus de fibres, tant naturals com sintètiques, per tal de realitzar els assajos mecànics corresponents per poder utilitzar-les com a suport del morter, de manera que aporti resistència a el conjunt. Per a això, s'han realitzat proves en fil, cordó i malla, així com totes aquestes resines amb EPOXY., La impresión 3D con hormigón es un tipo de fabricación muy nueva en el mundo de la construcción, y que cada vez se está utilizando más en estos últimos años debido a las ventajas que esta presenta. La impresión 3D permite crear estructuras de gran escala de forma más eficiente que de la forma tradicional, a causa de la optimización del mortero y, gracias a esta optimización, también encontramos un ahorro económico por el hecho de usar menos material y menos tiempo de fabricación. Por otro lado, existe unos beneficios muy grandes solo conseguidos por imprimir en 3D con mortero. Uno de estos beneficios es el hecho de que no son necesarios moldes para poder realizar estructuras complejas, haciendo así que exista un ahorro de costes cuando se quiere fabricar una estructura que no sea plana. En el siguiente trabajo se ha realizado un banco de hormigón impreso en 3D, utilizando un soporte textil para aportar resistencia al conjunto. Para poder realizarlo, se diseñó un banco que fuera apto para el medio, siguiendo la normativa de la Comunidad Autónoma de Catalunya en cuanto a mobiliario urbano, así como las reglas de ergonomía haciéndolo funcional en todos sus sentidos. También se han realizado los planos de las piezas del banco, se ha redactado todo el proceso de impresión, se han realizado renders fotorrealistas del banco en el medio, y se ha explicado cada una de sus partes para poder optimizar al máximo el uso del material. En cuanto al soporte textil, se han buscado los diferentes tipos de fibra, tanto naturales como sintéticas, para poder realizar los ensayos mecánicos correspondientes para poder usarse como soporte al mortero, de tal forma que aporte resistencia al conjunto. Aquesta memòria tracta sobre l’estudi d’instal·lació de plaques fotovoltaiques de quasi 77 kWp a l’Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona, seguit per un anàlisis exhaustiu d’aquest. L’objectiu d’aquest projecte es basa en l’avaluació de la viabilitat tant tècnica, econòmica com ambiental de la instal·lació. Mitjançant l’anàlisi de dades, s’analitzarà amb profunditat aspectes claus de la instal·lació com la generació d’energia, beneficis econòmics i mediambientals, les regulacions en vigor etc. Un cop fet aquest anàlisis, es valorarà la possibilitat d’introduir un sistema d’emmagatzematge per fer servir en hores de pics de consum o de mínima generació. Aquest projecte presenta una visió integra de la importància de l’energia solar fotovoltaica en l’actualitat com a una alternativa sostenible per a la generació d’electricitat a l’ETSEIB. En aquest treball s’analitza el comportament resistent d’estructures de barres planes (2D) mitjançant el mètode dels elements finits (MEF). Aquest mètode numèric és comunament utilitzat en computació de problemes físics i aproxima solucions d'equacions diferencials complexes dividint estructures en elements més petits (en aquest cas barres) que queden units per nodes. Aquest anàlisi es realitza en un processador dissenyat en MATLAB que, en introduir una estructura i condicions de contorn, serà capaç de retornar els desplaçaments i forces internes d’aquests nodes. També s'introdueixen funcions addicionals com la capacitat d'introduir desplaçaments forçats i acoblaments (connexió entre dos nodes on es comparteixen els desplaçaments però no el gir) entre nodes. Posteriorment, es desenvolupa un procés d’optimització per tal de dimensionar les barres de l’estructura de forma automàtica complint els requisits estructurals que s’hagin definit. El requisit principal és que la tensió màxima sigui inferior a la tensió admissible i també es disposa de requisits opcionals com la fixació d’un desplaçament màxim o el forçat d’un tipus de secció. Un cop desenvolupat el procés d’optimització es recopilen totes les variables que l’afecten i s’estudia la seva influència i les conseqüències de variar els seus valors. Es troba la millor combinació de valors per a estructures de 2 i 8 barres, els resultats en estabilitat són baixos i aconseguir-ne de més alts suposa un poder computacional massa elevat. Per a poder obtenir resultats més elevats s’apliquen els requisits opcionals com a restriccions i s’aconsegueix estabilitzar l’algoritme en la millor combinació possible de perfils per a les barres.

This work proposes a special type of Finite Element (FE) technology – the Empirical Interscale FE method – for modeling heterogeneous structures in the small strain regime, for both dynamic and static analyses. The method combines a domain decomposition framework, where interface conditions are established through ‘‘fictitious’’ frames, with dimensional hyperreduction at subdomain level. Similar to other multiscale FE methods, the structure is assumed to be partitioned into coarse-scale elements, each of these elements is equipped with a fine-scale subgrid, and the displacements of the boundaries of the coarse-scale elements are described by standard polynomial FE shape functions. The distinguishing feature of the proposed method is the employed ‘‘interscale’’ variational formulation, which directly relates coarse-scale nodal internal forces with fine-scale stresses, thereby avoiding the typical nested local/global problems that appear, in the nonlinear regime, in other multiscale methods. This distinctive feature, along with hyperreduction schemes for nodal internal and external body forces , greatly facilitate the implementation of the proposed formulation in existing FE codes for solid elements. Indeed, one only has to change the location and weights of the integration points, and to replace a few polynomial-based FE matrices with ‘‘empirical’’ operators, i.e., derived from the information obtained in appropriately chosen computational experiments. We demonstrate that the elements resulting from this formulation are not afflicted by volumetric locking when dealing with nearly-incompressible materials, and that they can handle non-matching fine-scale grids as well as curved structures. Last but not least, we show that, for periodic structures, this method converges upon mesh refinement to the solution delivered by classical first-order computational homogenization. We propose a method for finding optimal quadrature/cubature rules with positive weights for parameterized functions in 1D, 2D or 3D spatial domains. The method takes as starting point the values of the functions at the Gauss points of a finite element (FE) mesh of the spatial domain for a representative sample of input parameters, and then construct an elementwise continuous orthogonal basis for such functions using the truncated Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) along with element polynomial fitting. To avoid possible memory bottlenecks in computing the SVD, we propose a Sequential Randomized SVD (SRSVD) in which the matrix is provided in a column-partitioned format, and which uses randomization to accelerate the processing of each individual block. After computing the basis functions, the method determines an exact integration rule for such functions, featuring as many points as functions, and in which the points are selected among the Gauss points of the FE mesh. Finally, the desired optimal rule is obtained by an sparsification process in which the algorithm zeroes one weight at a time while readjusting the positions and weights of the remaining points so that the constraints of the problem are satisfied. We apply this methodology to multivariate polynomials in cartesian domains to demonstrate that the method is indeed able to produce optimal rules – i.e., Gauss product rules –, and to a 2-parameters, 3D sinusoidal–exponential function to illustrate the use of the SRSVD in scenarios in which the standard SVD cannot handle the operation because of memory limitations. Lastly, the fact that the method does not require the analytical expression of the integrand functions – just their values at the FE Gauss points – makes it suitable for dealing with the so-called hyperreduction of parameterized finite element models. We exemplify this by showing its performance in the derivation of low-dimensional surrogate models in the context of the multiscale FE method. We explore the practical implementation of digital twins and their efficacy in optimizing operations and predictive maintenance, focusing on controlling the real-time structural state of composite wind turbine structures and forecasting the remaining useful life by tracking the fatigue state in the structure. Our findings emphasize digital twins’ potential as a valuable tool for renewable energy, driving efficiency and sustainability in offshore floating wind installations. Aquest projecte té per objectiu el disseny, estudi i anàlisi d’una estructura per una plataforma d’elevació suspesa temporal. La seva finalitat és facilitar les tasques de manteniment en un pou, ubicat en una estació depuradora, en un país de l’Àsia Occidental, a Aràbia Saudí. Aquest projecte neix de la necessitat que té l’empresa encarregada del manteniment per fer aquestes tasques en un pou de difícil accés. El treball segueix el procediment realitzat per aconseguir portar a la realitat l’estructura desitjada des de l’empresa on he realitzat pràctiques els darrers mesos, a l’empresa Accesus ubicada a Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona. Per tant, es desenvolupen les diferents fases de creació des de la cerca de possibles solucions, passant per dissenys propis en 2D i 3D fins a arribar a ser construït i enviat al seu destí. També es desenvolupen els impactes ambientals que podria ocasionar i el cost de tot el projecte, tant per la part de material com per la part de la de mà d’obra.

En aquest treball de final de grau es planteja un estudi paramètric de l’impacte ambiental de les estructures de pòrtics de forjat unidireccionals per a naus industrials. Es realitza el càlcul estructural per a diferents llums de pòrtics i distàncies entre pòrtics, així com per a diferents materials: l’acer i la fusta. Per a cada combinació es tria la secció més òptima i que compleixi els requeriments de seguretat estipulats pel CTE. Després, es calcula el carboni embegut de les etapes d’obtenció del producte i construcció de cadascuna d’aquestes estructures i el preu d’aquestes, a partir del pes en / . Finalment, es comparen totes les estructures, per als diferents materials, distàncies entre pòrtics i llum entre pòrtics, per tal d’obtenir la més òptima des de diferents vessants: minimitzant el cost, l’impacte ambiental o maximitzant la llum dels pòrtics i distància entre pòrtics.

Aquest Treball Fi de Màster parteix de la idea de projectar un Espai Esportiu que permeti la pràctica esportiva de disciplines variades (sovint quelcom que manca en molts Centres) adequant-se als gustos de moltes persones. L’Espai compta amb piscina semi olímpica, pistes de pàdel, sala de CrossFit, a més de les habituals en aquest tipus de Centres. Alhora també vol permetre la socialització en un entorn agradable. La vocació és ser un Projecte referent per altres localitats. La meta es concreta en diversos objectius: recerca d’informació, disseny funcional, recerca de parcel·la, adopció d’una solució estructural adient, estudi de la protecció passiva contra incendis, sistema protector, accions i modelat de l’edifici en CYPECAD, càlcul estructural, descripció del sistema de climatització i ventilació i càlcul d’aigua calenta sanitària (ACS) i el sistema de generació solar. La metodologia consisteix, primerament, a revisar llibres de referència com Arte de Proyectar en Arquitectura (Neufert, 1936), o documents com ara la Normativa Tècnica del Pla Director d’Instal·lacions i Equipaments Esportius de Catalunya (PIEC), entre d’altres, de cara al disseny. Més tard se segueixen els diferents documents bàsics del Código Técnico de Edificación (CTE) que són presentats en cada capítol. Després de descriure i dibuixar tots els equipaments necessaris, es projecta un edifici en formigó armat , de quatre plantes (Soterrani, Planta Baixa, Planta Primera i coberta no transitable), ascensor, escales principals i del soterrani. Els forjats són bidireccionals (reticulars), i unidireccionals (biguetes pretensades i jàsseres). L’edifici s’ubica cèntricament, en un solar que actualment s’empra com aparcament públic i on antigament hi havia la fàbrica Bertrand i Serra. Background: Hypercortisolism in Cushing's syndrome (CS) is associated with bone loss, skeletal fragility, and altered bone quality. No studies evaluated bone geometric and strain-stress values in CS patients after remission thus far. Patients and methods: Thirty-two women with CS in remission (mean age [±SD] 51 ± 11; body mass index [BMI], 27 ± 4 kg/m2; mean time of remission, 120 ± 90 months) and 32 age-, BMI-, and gonadal status-matched female controls. Quantitative computed tomography (QCT) was used to assess volumetric bone mineral density (vBMD) and buckling ratio, cross-sectional area, and average cortical thickness at the level of the proximal femur. Finite element (FE) models were generated from QCT to calculate strain and stress values (maximum principal strain [MPE], maximum strain energy density [SED], maximum Von Mises [VM], and maximum principal stress [MPS]). Areal BMD (aBMD) and trabecular bone score (TBS) were assessed by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (2D DXA). Results: Trabecular vBMD at total hip and trochanter were lower in CS as compared with controls (P < .05). Average cortical thickness was lower, and buckling ratio was greater in CS vs controls (P < .01). All strain and stress values were higher in CS patients vs controls (P < .05). 2D DXA-derived measures were similar between patients and controls (P > .05). Prior hypercortisolism predicted both VM (ß .30, P = .014) and MPS (ß .30, P = .015), after adjusting for age, BMI, menopause, delay to diagnosis, and duration of remission. Conclusions: Women with prior hypercortisolism have reduced trabecular vBMD and impaired bone geometrical and mechanical properties, which may contribute to an elevated fracture risk despite long-term remission., Peer Reviewed, Postprint (author's final draft)

Aquest treball té com a objectiu la creació d'un bessó digital o Digital Twin que representa virtualment una llarga barra rectangular la qual en fer-la rotar en totes les direccions mostrarà en temps real les tensions i deformacions que pateix per l'efecte gravitacional en la plataforma OSI4IOT. El projecte se situa sobre el context actual, la quarta revolució industrial que està capgirant el Modus Operandi de les empreses. Una de les eines d'avantguarda són els Digital Twins peça angular del projecte que a través del model imprès en 3D i del sensor d'orientació del mòbil recull les dades que són analitzades i mostrades en temps real. Aquest projecte està plantejat per fer-se servir com a recurs educatiu. El proyecto se sitúa sobre el contexto actual, la cuarta revolución industrial que está cambiando el Modus operandi de las empresas. Una de las herramientas de vanguardia son los Digital Twins pieza angular del proyecto que a través del modelo impreso en 3D y del sensor de orientación del móvil recoge los datos que son analizados y mostrados en tiempo real. Este proyecto está planteado para usarse como recurso educativo. La memoria está estructurada en tres partes diferenciadas que son el marco teórico, los programas utilizados como: SolidWorks con el que se plantea el modelo real a imprimir, RamSeries Tdyn donde se aplica el método de elementos finitos con el mallado sobre un plan medio, Blender que realiza la animación del proyecto y la plataforma OSI4IOT basada en el internet de las cosas que interconecta el Digital Twin y los resultados FEM con la recogida de datos del móvil y muestra una respuesta gráfica y numérica en tiempo real., This work aims to create a Digital Twin that virtually represents a long rectangular bar which will show the tensions and deformations it suffers due to the gravitational effect when is rotated in all directions on the OSI4IOT platform in real time. The project is set in the current context, the fourth industrial revolution that is changing the modus operandi of companies. One of the cutting-edge tools is the Digital Twin, which is the groundwork of the project. Through the 3D printed model and the orientation sensor of the mobile phone, the data flow is analysed and displayed in real time. This project is designed to be used as an educational resource. The report is structured in three different parts which are the theoretical framework, the programs used such as: SolidWorks with which the real model to be printed is proposed, RamSeries Tdyn where the finite element method is applied with the meshing on a medium plane, Blender which carries out the animation of the project. And the OSI4IOT platform based on the internet of things which interconnects the Digital Twin and the FEM results with the collected data from the mobile and shows a graphic and numerical response in real time.

Este trabajo se centra en una investigación exhaustiva sobre tecnologías y soluciones constructivas para la disipación de energía en estructuras sujetas a acciones sísmicas. Su objetivo es identificar y evaluar las alternativas más eficaces para adaptar estructuras preexistentes en regiones de alta sismicidad, evitando la demolición costosa y la reconstrucción. Se revisará detenidamente la literatura científica y técnica para contribuir al conocimiento en ingeniería estructural, ofreciendo una visión integral de las opciones disponibles para mejorar la resistencia de edificaciones existentes. El estudio se enfocará en encontrar tecnologías innovadoras y enfoques adecuados para abordar esta problemática, prestando especial atención a datos de ensayos científicos para evaluar su idoneidad en la disipación de energía, así como a posibles limitaciones y restricciones en su aplicación práctica. Este trabajo de final de grado se presenta como un recurso para profesionales en rehabilitación sísmica, así como para investigadores y académicos interesados en seguridad estructural en zonas de alta sismicidad. En un contexto de crecimiento urbano y preservación del patrimonio arquitectónico, este proyecto adquiere una importancia global, fundamentada en diversas razones que afectan tanto a nivel local como global.

Este proyecto consiste en el estudio de la viabilidad de un barco para canales, también llamado longtail boat, con tracción eléctrica con el fin de realizar un trayecto de unos 16 km, en un tiempo de 2 horas, a lo largo de unos canales, como por ejemplo los que se encuentran en la ciudad de Bangkok, Tailandia. Se contempla la realización de 2 trayectos diarios con fines turísticos. En consecuencia, este proyecto se enfoca en la conceptualización de un barco eléctrico para canales diseñado para satisfacer las necesidades descritas anteriormente y sustituir los barcos tailandeses convencionales, dotados generalmente de un motor de combustión interna de segunda mano. Estos motores de combustión producen grandes cantidades de contaminación, tanto atmosférica, debido a los gases de escape, como sonora. El estudio del proyecto se centra en la integración de un motor eléctrico con baterías alimentadas por una estación de carga externa y células fotovoltaicas integradas en el mismo barco.

This paper presents an experimental study on the seismic performance of partially grouted reinforced masonry (PG-RM) walls strengthened with two solutions: Ferrocement coating (welded wire steel mesh embedded in cementitious mortar, WWM) and Basalt Textile Reinforced Mortar (BTRM) layer. For this purpose, two full-scale walls were built with hollow concrete units, with identical geometry and construction details of a previously reported tested wall, which acts as the control specimen (unstrengthened case) in this study. The walls, with a window-type opening and another door-type opening, were strengthened on one of their sides and tested under the combined action of constant axial compression and cyclic lateral loading up to failure. The experimental results show that both strengthening solutions increased the investigated walls' initial stiffness and lateral capacity. The increase in lateral capacity of both solutions was similar, about 37%. The 2D-DIC analysis implemented during the tests was instrumental in highlighting the areas on the strengthened walls where high strains were developed. The damage registered on the BTRM layer was more consistent with what was observed on the surface of the unstrengthened wall. Meanwhile, the damage reported on the wall strengthened with WWM did not exhibit apparent damage at higher drift levels due to the detachment between the ferrocement coating and the masonry substrate. Beam analysis played a crucial role in the design of structures throughout modern history. Classical beam theories rely on analytical derivations under certain a priori kinematic assumptions (and are accurate with low computational cost), but they are not amenable to, for example, orthotropic materials and arbitrary cross sections. On the other hand, full 3D linear elasticity theory solved via the Finite Element (FE) method provides solutions for a wide range of engineering problems at the expense of a high computational cost. Reduced-order models try to provide a theory as general as 3D linear elasticity but as efficient as classical beam theories by assuming the solution to be represented in a low-dimensional basis. Among the several options available in the literature, the domain decomposition and hyperreduction via Empirical Cubature Method (ECM), which we name ddROM [1], exhibits this compelling feature. However, ddROM applied to beam structures, may provide more Degrees of Freedom (DoF) per node than most standard commercial FE codes which only consider rigid body motion of the cross section. This paper presents a methodology, called beam Reduced Order Model (bROM), to integrate ddROM in standard FE codes by means of a condensation process followed by a regression procedure. Condensation gives the stiffness matrix, required by FE commercial codes, of a super-element of a given length. This is achieved by assembling several elements and finding the relationship between applied displacements and reactions (Lagrange multipliers). The condensation process is then used to create a database of stiffness matrices as a function of the beam length over which a regression is performed. Some numerical examples are first presented to validate the proposed methodology against the classical beam theory for the case of isotropic beams, and finally, two orthotropic beam showing the utility of the method in comparison with FE., Postprint (updated version)

Aquest Treball de Fi de Grau es focalitza en el desenvolupament d’alternatives a l’habitatge convencional de 50 m2 mitjançant l’estudi de les estructures geodèsiques, una innovació impulsada per R. Buckminster Fuller al segle XX. En un context on la crisi de l’habitatge i els objectius de desenvolupament sostenible són imperatius urgents, les cases geodèsiques es presenten com una resposta crítica. Aquesta recerca s’orienta a promoure tecnologies de construcció que minimitzin l’ús de recursos tant en la construcció com en el manteniment, i que siguin eficients des del punt de vista energètic, alineant-se amb l’objectiu d’un creixement econòmic inclusiu i sostenible. L’objectiu central del treball és l’estudi exhaustiu de les cases geodèsiques analitzant les seves prestacions estructurals i energètiques en comparació amb un habitatge social estàndard. A partir d’un enfocament rigorós i sistemàtic, el treball segueix una metodologia detallada, incorporant simulacions estructurals avançades i una avaluació completa de l’impacte ambiental i social. El prefaci introdueix l’origen d’aquest estudi, seguit d’una planificació detallada i una introducció que estableix la motivació, l’abast, els requisits previs, i els objectius del treball. La investigació avança amb una revisió bibliogràfica profunda sobre les cases geodèsiques, incloent-hi els seus antecedents, teories, i estudi de l’estat de l’art en aquest camp, aportant una perspectiva sobre el concepte de tensegritat i la formació de poliedres geodèsics. El treball continua amb l’anàlisi de les especificacions que ha de complir la casa geodèsica, incloent-hi accions permanents i variables com sobrecàrregues, acció del vent, i càrrega de neu. També s’explora la selecció de materials via el mètode dels diagrames d’Ashby per a l’estructura, la coberta, i les unions, destacant l’ús de la fusta com a material estructural i la integració de panells d’OSB 3 i aïllament tèrmic amb fibra de cànem per a la coberta. Earthen construction has gained attention during the last decade because of its sustainability. Nevertheless, increasing its strength properties is still a challenge that is faced herein by including vegetal meshes with different coatings as internal reinforcement. An experimental campaign oriented to characterise the bending response of little scale earth beams in simply supported configuration was carried out including three different mesh materials (jute, hemp and cotton) and three different coatings (arabic gum, colophony and white glue). The results as failure mode, maximum load/stress and absorbed energy are presented and discussed. Results indicated that it is feasible to strengthen earthen materials with vegetal meshes. Colophony was too stiff to be combined with the chosen vegetal meshes with the goal of strengthening deformable earth. In addition, greater yarn thickness and smaller yarn separation were associated to premature debonding failure. Using cotton meshes with arabic gum coating brought the more promising results. En este documento se expone el proceso de diseño, dimensionamiento y fabricación del conjunto rueda de un coche tipo Formula Student, basado en el CAT16x, prototipo eléctrico y autónomo del equipo BCN eMotorsport de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial de Barcelona. Primeramente, se hará una breve introducción acerca de la competición Formula Student y de las disciplinas que la comprenden, después un poco de historia acerca del equipo BCN eMotorsport y una contextualización de la actualidad del proyecto. En segundo lugar se hablará del proceso de selección de los neumáticos del coche, comenzando por una explicación básica de la dinámica del vehículo, y haciendo posterior hincapié en el comportamiento dinámico de los neumáticos. A continuación, y basado en los datos proporcionados por el TTC (Tire Test Consortium), empresa dedicada al ensayo y estudio de los diferentes tipos de neumáticos para Formula Student, se hace un análisis comparativo entre los neumáticos. En tercer lugar, se elabora un modelo de neumático en Matlab capaz de predecir el comportamiento de estos, no sin antes tratar los datos obtenido por el TTC para posteriormente ajustar los coeficientes del modelo. Por último, se calculan detalladamente los esfuerzos que tienen lugar en la huella del neumático, trasladándolos posteriormente a los diferentes componentes del conjunto rueda, obteniendo así unos casos de carga específicos para diferentes situaciones dinámicas del coche. Seguidamente se procederá con la explicación rigurosa del proceso iterativo de diseño y dimensionamiento de los componentes del conjunto rueda (carro, buje, y mangueta) utilizando los programas de diseño y simulación de elementos finitos. Se acaba con la confección un BOM (Bill of Material) de las piezas del conjunto además de los planos de fabricación correspondientes.

The pore pressure inside oil and gas reservoirs compartmentalized by sealing faults increases during injection processes. The rise in the pore pressure can induce fault reactivation, leading to hydraulic issues such as fluid leakage from the reservoir to other layers and seismicity. Therefore, it is essential to accurately model the mechanisms involved in this problem, primarily related to the presence of a strong discontinuity, a fault, inside the domain. Several numerical approaches can be used to represent the presence of discontinuities. The embedded finite element method (EFEM) has recently gained attention because it does not require the mesh to conform with the discontinuities, thus circumventing the typical mesh generation challenges of modeling faulted domains. The current EFEM formulations cannot properly model a hydromechanical problem such as fault reactivation, due to simplifications in their derivation. Hence, this work proposes a new fully coupled hydromechanical EFEM formulation based on the Strong Discontinuity Approach that can represent discontinuities acting as preferential flow paths or barriers for the fluid flow. The formulation is applied to a fault reactivation problem, showing the main reactivation mechanisms. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the nonlinear static response of steel concentrically braced frames (CBFs) by considering the response of embedded footings in granular soils using the Beam on Nonlinear Winkler Foundation (BNWF) approach. To model the vertical stress-displacement behaviour of footings, it is possible to define a backbone curve capable of reproducing the total response by adding in series the behaviour of the compression zone with that of the tension zone. When uplift of the soil–foundation system is allowed, it has been demonstrated that it is necessary to consider the horizontal stresses of the native soil on site and the degree of compaction of the soil mass above the footing to avoid significant deviations between the analysis results and the real response. The tension zone in the backbone curves was calibrated while considering these parameters, and given the difficulty associated with their calibration, an estimation is reported that could also be used in the case of practical applications. The implementation of the model has been validated through various pushover analyses on an archetype steel CBF originally tested on a fixed base condition, and predictions were made for the flexible base condition, considering different types of soil and different embedment depths. The results suggest that there is a relationship between the nonlinear static response of steel CBF structures and the uplift mechanism of embedded footings that is influenced by the embedment depth of the footings and the shape of the tension-displacement zone of the backbone curves considered in the modelling process. Nowadays, hydropower plants are being used to compensate for the variable power produced by the new fluctuating renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, and to stabilise the grid. Consequently, hydraulic turbines are forced to work more often in off-design conditions, far from their best efficiency point. This new operation strategy increases the probability of erosive cavitation and of hydraulic instabilities and pressure fluctuations that increase the risk of fatigue damage and reduce the life expectancy of the units. To monitor erosive cavitation and fatigue damage, acoustic emissions induced by very-high-frequency elastic waves within the solid have been traditionally used. Therefore, acoustic emissions are becoming an important tool for hydraulic turbine failure detection and troubleshooting. In particular, artificial intelligence is a promising signal analysis research hotspot, and it has a great potential in the condition monitoring of hydraulic turbines using acoustic emissions as a key factor in the digitalisation process. In this paper, a brief introduction of acoustic emissions and a description of their main applications are presented. Then, the research works carried out for cavitation and fracture detection using acoustic emissions are summarised, and the different levels of development are compared and discussed. Aquest projecte descriu el procés d'elaboració d'una carta de material per a anàlisi d'elements finits amb un mètode de càlcul explícit. Amb aquesta, es pretén dissenyar i construir un coet fet de materials compostos amb l'objectiu de competir a l'EuRoC., Este proyecto describe el proceso de elaboración de una carta de material para el análisis de elementos finitos con un método de cálculo explícito. Con ella, se pretende diseñar y construir un cohete hecho de materiales compuestos con el objetivo de competir en el EuroC., This project describes the process of preparing a material card for finite element analysis with an explicit calculation method. With this, it is intended to design and build a rocket made of composite materials with the aim of competing in the EuRoC.

L'ús de la intel·ligència artificial (IA) en la societat actual ha augmentat significativament en els últims anys, amb un profund impacte no sols en la nostra vida diària sinó també en altres àmbits que poden semblar més llunyans a nosaltres, com l'enginyeria civil. Aquest treball investiga l'aplicació d'aquesta nova intel·ligència al càlcul, disseny i optimització de seccions d’estructures. L'objectiu bàsic és entendre com funciona i com es pot entrenar un algoritme d’IA per tal de poder predir el comportament d’una estructura, fent èmfasi, sobretot, al fenomen del Web Crippling i a la previsió del vinclament. L'estudi es basa en una revisió exhaustiva de la literatura actual en aquest camp. S’estudien experiments de la vida real utilitzant algoritmes d'aprenentatge automàtic i xarxes neuronals per a calcular i optimitzar les estructures, i, a més, s'explora la possibilitat de crear models algoritmics que accelerin processos repetitius i optimitzin el sector. Els resultats de la recerca indiquen que la IA redueix significativament el temps necessari per a trobar solucions òptimes en el disseny estructural, amb un èxit notable a l'hora de minimitzar recursos. Tot i això, es reconeix que és impossible crear un model exacte i veraç sense una quantitat enorme de dades i dispositius amb una potència molt elevada. Finalment, s'ha d'emfatitzar que, malgrat els beneficis clars, s'identifiquen desafiaments ètics i de seguretat que han d'abordar-se a mesura que la tecnologia de IA es consolida en el camp.

Aquest treball final de grau, la seva finalitat és determinar quina ha de ser la proporció adequada dels components que formen part d'un morter amb l’objectiu que aquest sigui utilitzat en la impressió 3D. On s'introduirà algun additiu, per veure com afecta, i analitzar si milloren les prestacions del morter a l'hora de ser imprès. Per complir amb aquests objectius es realitzarà una recerca bibliogràfica per saber de què estan formats i quines propietats han de tenir els morters per poder-los fer servir per imprimir. Quan ja es coneguin els diferents components del morter, s'elaboraran al laboratori diferents morters, primerament seran mescles de ciment, sorra i aigua, en les últimes mescles ja introduirem algun additiu. Totes aquestes mescles tindran la consistència idònia per poder ser bombejats, transportats i extruïts. Aquests morters seran emmotllats per obtenir unes provetes que posteriorment s'analitzaran i se n'extrauran uns resultats. Aquests resultats es compararan amb els d'un morter especialitzat per imprimir en 3D. Les proves que es realitzaran a les diferents provetes de morter seran: absorció d'aigua, assajos de resistència a flexió i assajos de resistència a compressió. En els morters més interessants es realitzaran uns assajos d'ultrasons. Amb els resultats d'aquestes proves es determinaran les diferents propietats de cada tipus de morter que s'hagi dissenyat per així fer una comparació amb el morter especialitzat. Els resultats ens han indicat que la combinació que s'hauria d'utilitzar per dissenyar un morter per imprimir en 3D hauria de ser d'un 30% de ciment i una relació d'aigua/ciment 0,38 aproximadament. La relació d'aigua/ciment s'hauria d'intentar reduir, ja que un excés d'aigua produeix una disminució de la resistència. S'ha vist que la utilització d'accelerant millora la resistència del morter en les primeres hores i les propietats no es veuen afectades al llarg del temps. Finalment, cal dir que s'haurien de provar altres additius per veur

Aquest treball de fi de grau intenta estudiar com afecten els camps electromagnètics en humans. Per això ha estat necessari modelar, caracteritzar i aplicar les condicions de contorn adequades per determinar el camp electromagnètic que incideix sobre el cos humà. Per realitzar-ho, s'utilitza el codi computacional open-source ERMES. A partir d'aquí, es fan tantes simulacions com siguin necessàries per analitzar el comportament dels camps electromagnètics aplicats al model humà a la capa externa. D'aquesta manera, s'aconsegueix esbrinar on es troben les zones més vulnerables i desfavorables a l'ésser humà, davant de les ones electromagnètiques emeses per un emissor; el qual pot ser tant un router wifi com una antena de telecomunicacions o un repetidor estàndard de telefonia mòbil. L'objectiu se centra sobretot en aconseguir dades rellevants i fiables en la simulació per poder determinar les zones de més intensitat de camp sobre l'humà. D'aquesta manera, ens permetria estimar la ubicació de les eines de mesura (sensors) que caldria col•locar sobre un individu per comprovar físicament el camp que incideix sobre el pacient, revelant així si compleix o no amb la normativa vigent. D'aquesta manera, es redueixen les hores de treball i pressupost necessaris, ja que la simulació permetria optimitzar la posició òptima de la ubicació dels sensors a col•locar a la realitat., El presente trabajo de fin de grado trata de estudiar cómo afectan los campos electromagnéticos en humanos. Para ello ha sido necesario modelar, caracterizar y aplicar las condiciones de contorno adecuadas para determinar el campo electromagnético que incide sobre el cuerpo humano. Para realizar esto, se utiliza el código computacional open-source ERMES. A partir de aquí, se realizan tantas simulaciones como sean necesarias para analizar el comportamiento de los campos electromagnéticos aplicados al modelo humano en la capa externa. De esta manera, se consigue averiguar dónde se encuentran las zonas más vulnerables y desfavorables en el ser humano, frente a las ondas electromagnéticas emitidas por un emisor; el cual puede ser tanto un router wifi como una antena de telecomunicaciones o un repetidor estándar de telefonía móvil. El objetivo se centra sobre todo en conseguir datos relevantes y fiables en la simulación para poder determinar las zonas de mayor intensidad de campo sobre el humano. De esta forma, nos permitiría estimar la ubicación de las herramientas de medición (sensores) que habría que colocar sobre un/a individuo/a para comprobar físicamente el campo que incide sobre el paciente, revelando así si cumple o no con la normativa vigente. De esta manera, se reducen las horas de trabajo y presupuesto necesario, ya que la simulación permitiría optimizar la posición óptima de la ubicación de los sensores a colocar en la realidad.

This paper presents numerical pushover analyses on multiple bay pallet racks, aiming to quantify variations in global ductility when using different beam-to-upright connections. The connections differ in the layout of the beam-to-endplate welding, being one of them a technological novelty. They are modeled with envelopes of monotonic and cyclic moment-rotation curves obtained from component tests and presented in previous research. Moreover, the influence of the level height is studied throughout two different rack configurations. A single-column model for multiple bay racks, made with 3D beams and shells, is presented and compared with simpler 2D models to quantify the influence of 3D effects and upright perforations. Results exhibit that the novel connection improves the capacity to absorb energy, but an inappropriate rack configuration can lead to a soft-story mechanism, thus not taking full advantage of its ductility., Peer Reviewed, Postprint (published version)

Davant de l’incompliment de certes normatives GMP sobre les bones pràctiques de fabricació en relació a medicaments, es planteja la remodelació d’una planta de fabricació d’especialitats farmacèutiques, amb l’objectiu final de reconfigurar la distribució interna de la planta assolint uns fluxos de material continus i un procés de producció òptim. El projecte, que recull tot el procés elaborat per assolir la totalitat dels propòsits, descriu la investigació realitzada envers la normativa de bones pràctiques de producció farmacèutica, en endavant GMP, i el reglament de seguretat contra incendis en establiments industrials, en endavant RSCIEI, juntament amb la justificació dels seu compliment. L’adaptació de la planta de fabricació a aquestes normatives comporta un seguit d’actuacions d’obra civil que es recullen en la memòria descriptiva i la memòria constructiva del projecte. Es descriu el procés des de la col·locació de proteccions per la realització dels enderrocs corresponents, la nova distribució de sales a l’interior de les plantes, l’actualització de les xarxes de sanejament i la substitució de les cobertes amb el corresponent dimensionament de les noves corretges. La presentació del projecte inclou un llistat de plànols referents a les actuacions d’obra civil que es descriuen, la planificació del projecte, tant a nivell executiu com a nivell constructiu, i el pressupost de la totalitat del projecte, desglossat en serveis d’enginyeria prestats i pressupost constructiu de totes les actuacions necessàries. Amb tot això, aquest treball recull la totalitat del projecte executiu de la remodelació de la planta farmacèutica amb la finalitat de poder realitzar la tramitació administrativa de la corresponent llicència d’obres. A nivell de propòsits, amb les reformes plantejades, s’aconsegueix optimitzar la producció de la planta gràcies a l’assoliment d’uns fluxos de producte molt més dinàmics juntament amb l’ampliació dels espais de producció i condicionat a nivell de, Frente al incumplimiento de ciertas normativas GMP sobre las buenas prácticas de fabricación en relación a medicamentos, se plantea la remodelación de una planta de fabricación de especialidades farmacéuticas, con el objetivo final de reconfigurar la distribución interna de la planta logrando unos flujos de material continuos y un proceso de producción óptimo. El proyecto, que recoge todo el proceso elaborado para cumplir la totalidad de los propósitos, describe la investigación realizada sobre la normativa de buenas prácticas de producción farmacéutica, en adelante GMP, i el reglamento de seguridad contra incendios en establecimientos industriales, en adelante RSCIEI, juntamente con la justificación de su cumplimiento. La adaptación de la planta de fabricación a estas normativas conlleva una serie de actuaciones de obra civil que se recogen en la memoria descriptiva y la memoria constructiva del proyecto. Se describe el proceso desde la colocación de protecciones para la realización de los derribos correspondientes, la nueva distribución de salas en el interior de la planta, la actualización de las redes de saneamiento y la substitución de las cubiertas con el correspondiente dimensionado de las nuevas correas. La presentación del proyecto incluye un listado de planos referentes a las actuaciones de obra civil que se describen, la planificación del proyecto, tanto a nivel ejecutivo como a nivel constructivo, y el presupuesto de la totalidad del proyecto, desglosado en servicios de ingeniería prestados y presupuesto constructivo de todas las actuaciones necesarias. Con todo esto, el trabajo recoge la totalidad del proyecto ejecutivo de la remodelación de la planta farmacéutica con la finalidad de poder realizar la tramitación administrativa de la correspondiente licencia de obras. The objective is to reconfigure the internal distribution achieving continuous material flows and an optimal production process. This project, which includes all the work made in order to fulfil the totality of the goals, describes the investigation about good manufacturing practices, from now on GMP, and the regulation in reference to fire safety in industrial establishments, from now on RSCIEI, as well as the justification of their compliance. The remodelling of the establishment in order to fulfil these regulations entails some civil work performances which are included in the descriptive memory and the constructive memory of the project. It describes the placement of provisional protections for the demolitions, the new internal distribution of areas, the update of the industrial water system and the replacement of the deck as well as the structural calculations needed. Moreover, the project includes a list of constructive blueprints, the executive and constructive planning of the project and the general budget divided in construction phases and engineering services to the client. This way, this work put together the totality of the executive project of the remodelling of the pharmaceutical establishment in order to be able to carry out the administrative processing of the corresponding building permission. Airtificial Intelligent Robots es una compañía con sede central en Sant Fruitós de Bages, con operaciones en 5 países. Se dedica a diseñar, producir e instalar máquinas y líneas de montaje para el sector automoción. Es una compañía que hace uso de herramientas de Lean Six Sigma como parte de su estrategia operacional. El ciclo de mejora DMAIC es una de las más importantes. En todas las fases de dicho ciclo es importante contar con información suficiente y confiable para formular y hacer seguimiento a acciones de mejora. En este contexto, la Inteligencia de Negocios (Business Intelligence) cobra particular importancia. El presente proyecto tuvo como objetivo implementar un tablero de control de inteligencia de negocios que permitiera monitorear los principales indicadores relacionados con mejora continua. Para este propósito, en la primera fase del proyecto la mejor herramienta fue seleccionada. Teniendo en cuenta que una restricción por parte de la compañía era el uso de PowerBI de Microsoft, la herramienta pin live presentó los mejores resultados. Permitió el uso de filtros e interactividad, además de ser flexible en el uso de cualquier tipo de visualización dentro del tablero. Además, el mencionado tablero de control fue ocupado por secciones dedicadas a los diferentes proyectos de mejoramiento de la compañía. Para cada uno de ellos, los indicadores más relevantes fueron escogidos. En los casos en los que las fuentes de datos no estaban lo suficientemente organizadas, se dio la estructura necesaria. Una vez los datos tenían un formato adecuado, los campos adicionales y medidas fueron creados. De esta manera fue posible crear las visualizaciones necesarias en cada sección. Siguiendo esta metodología, ocho secciones fueron creadas en el tablero de control principal, cinco dedicadas a proyectos de mejora y tres enfocadas a seguimiento de eficiencias y costes de proyectos ejecutados por la compañía., Airtificial Intelligent Robots is a company with headquarters in Sant Fruitós de Bages, developing operations in 5 countries. It is dedicated to design, produce, and install machines and assembly lines for the automotive industry. It uses Lean Six Sigma tools as part of its operational strategy. The DMAIC improvement cycle is one of the most relevant. In every phase of this cycle, it is important to rely on a proper quantity of reliable data, to formulate and follow up improvement actions. In this context, Business Intelligence is particularly important. The objective of the present project was to implement a dashboard to monitor the main indicators related to continuous improvement. To fulfill this, the best tool was chosen. Considering that the project was constrained to the use of Microsoft PowerBI, the tool pin live exhibited the best results. It allowed using filters and interactions, besides flexibility when using any kind of visualization. The dashboard was filled by sections, each of them dedicated to one improvement project of the company. For each project, the most relevant indicators were chosen. For those cases in which the data sources were not correctly organized, proper data structure was created. With suitable data format, the required calculated field and measures were generated. This way, it was possible to develop suitable visualizations for each section. In addition to the visualization set to the main dashboard, each section on it had an associated support dashboard, with further visualizations that provided additional insights about the particular project. By following this methodology, eight sections were created in the main dashboard, five of them dedicated to improvement projects, and other three focused to follow up efficiencies and cost in projects executed by the company. All the components of the dashboard were validated along with the corresponding users, after which, they were put in operation.

El aumento del uso de los ordenadores, tanto en ámbito laboral como en el ocio durante la última década, ha generado en muchos usuarios la búsqueda de unos periféricos acordes a sus necesidades y que en el mercado no existían o eran difíciles de encontrar. De ahí nacen los teclados artesanales o custom, donde el usuario puede realizar una personalización al detalle del producto. En este proyecto se presenta un diseño de teclado con unas características muy específicas, co- mo son un teclado de formato compacto, distribución española, inclusión de USB-C extraíble y estilo de montaje en junta. Para llevar a cabo el diseño desde cero se ha hecho un amplio estudio previo, y junto con las herramientas KiCAD, SolidWorks y QMK, se han diseñado respectiva- mente el hardware, partes no electrónicas y archivos de configuración del teclado. Seguidamente, se ha llevado a cabo la fabricación de la PCB mediante la empresa JLCPCB y mediante impresión 3D las piezas no electrónicas para la composición del teclado a su completo. Since 2009, with the appearance of the Bitcoin, blockchain has gained great popularity all over the world for multiple reasons. The ones that stand out the most are the transparency of the information, its immutability, meaning it is permanent and unalterable, its security thanks to the nature and the way the network is organized, and the fact that it is decentralized. The most common thing until then, or even now, when people want to send information or money, is having to go through a central node, and then from that node the information is sent to the receiver. Some clear examples are social media and banks, who are in clear control of all the information since the central servers first receive the data and then send it to the recipient. It can be said that the whole paradigm of data and the way it was handled changed when blockchain appeared, and the investigation and development have not stopped since. It was clear that there was a lack of security on the previous methods, given that the central node or server could forge and manipulate the data, since it had the whole control. Thus, a change was highly needed, and it finally appeared. Considering the huge amount of industry practitioners that take part in construction, trust is one of the most important things. This is the reason why the construction industry has already started asking itself whether things could change completely to try and avoid information asymmetry, to be able to keep track of all the payments and contracts alongside with their corresponding modifications, among others. The typical as-built coarse and cube-oriented microstructure of Inconel® 625 parts fabricated via arc-based directed energy deposition (DED) induces anisotropic mechanical behavior, reducing the potential applications of arc-based DEDed Inconel® 625 in critical components. In this sense, the present work aimed to reduce the grain size and texture by applying an in situ interlayer hot forging (HF) combined with post-deposition heat treatments (PDHT). The produced samples were characterized through optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy coupled with electron backscatter diffraction, synchrotron X-ray diffraction, and Vickers microhardness. Also, a dedicated deformation tool was designed and optimized via a finite element method model considering the processing conditions and thermal cycle experienced by the material. It is shown that the in situ interlayer deformation induced a thermo-mechanical-affected zone (dynamic recrystallized + remaining deformation, with a height of ˜ 1.2 mm) at the bead top surface, which resulted in thinner aligned grains and lower texture index in relation to as-built DED counterpart. In addition, the effects of solution (1100 °C/ 1 h) and stabilization (980 °C/ 1 h) PDHTs on the Inconel® 625 HF-DEDed parts were also analyzed, which promoted fine and equiaxed static recrystallized grains without cube orientation, comparable to wrought material. The addition of Si to steels is a well stablished method to delay cementite precipitation, allowing for carbon partitioning from martensite to retained austenite during tempering. It has been argued that carbon enrichment and stabilization of austenite leads to increased ductility and toughness. This has been the main motivation for the development of novel heat treatments, such as quenching and partitioning. High carbon steels can also benefit from improved ductility provided by the presence of stabilized retained austenite. However, the process of carbon partitioning is less understood due to the increased tendency for competitive carbide formation with increasing carbon content. The present work investigates the austenite carbon partitioning and austenite decomposition phenomena in a modified 1.82 wt.% Si hypereutectoid bearing steel during tempering. Dilatometry, in-situ and ex-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction, 3D atom probe tomography, scanning electron microscopy, and hardness measurements were used. The results are discussed based on different equilibrium states between a' and carbides. It was found that carbon partitioning towards retained austenite occurs for several minutes without significant phase decomposition at temperatures lower than 300 °C. A transition temperature between prevalent austenite carbon enrichment and austenite decomposition occurs at 350 °C. Secondary cementite precipitation inside martensite, and at the a'/¿ interfaces, is observed during tempering at temperatures above 400 °C. Results from constrained carbon equilibrium modeling with carbide presence indicate that homogeneously dispersed spheroidized primary cementite has little influence in the carbon partitioning phenomenon., Peer Reviewed, Postprint (author's final draft)

The use of Automated Fiber Placement is being widespread in the aerospace industry. The need of manufacturing large and complex structural composite components, it makes the use of this technology much more efficient than the conventional hand lay-up manufacturing. However, these components are still being manually inspected and the effect of the defects found is calculated with a simulation software. The scope of this thesis is to create a Machine Learning model that is able to calculate the effect on the effective stiffness for different defect configuration. This Machine Learning model should be provided with the geometrical defect characteristics in the laminate and it has to be able to predict, with a high level of accuracy, the effective stiffness of the laminate. Training this model with a big amount of different configuration defects generates the need to create a parametrized FE model of a composite laminate on the coupon level. The results show that a Multi Layer Perceptron architecture with two hidden layers. The first one with 281 nodes and the second one with 76 nodes which is able to predict the effective stiffness of a defective laminate coupon with an accuracy of 0,1 GPa, L'ús del Automated Fiber Placement està estenent-se en la indústria aeroespacial. La necessitat de fabricar components estructurals compostos grans i complexes, fa que l'ús d'aquesta tecnologia sigui molt més eficient que la fabricació convencional amb col·locació manual. No obstant això, aquests components encara s'estan inspeccionant manualment i es calcula l'efecte dels defectes trobats amb software de simulació. L'abast d'aquesta tesi és crear un model de Machine Lerning que sigui capaç de calcular l'efecte en la rigidesa efectiva per diferents configuracions de defectes. Aquest model d'aprenentatge automàtic hauria de rebre les característiques geomètriques dels defectes en el laminat i de ser capaç de predir, amb un alt nivell de precisió, la rigidesa efectiva del laminat. Entrenar aquest model amb una gran quantitat de configuracions de defectes diferents genera la necessitat de crear un model FE parametritzat d'una laminació composta en el nivell de cupó. Els resultats mostren que una arquitectura de Multilayer Perceptron amb dues hidden layers. La primera amb 281 nodes i la segona amb 76 nodes, és capaç de predir la rigidesa efectiva d'un laminat defectuós amb una precisió de 0,1 GPa, El uso del Automated Fiber Placement se está expandiendo en la industria aeroespacial. La necesidad de fabricar grandes y complejos componentes estructurales de materiales compuestos, hace que el uso de esta tecnología sea mucho más eficiente que la fabricación manual convencional. Sin embargo, estos componentes siguen siendo inspeccionados manualmente y se calcula el efecto de los defectos encontrados con un software de simulación. El objetivo de esta tesis es crear un modelo de Machine Learning que sea capaz de calcular el efecto sobre la rigidez efectiva para diferentes configuraciones de defectos. A este modelo de aprendizaje automático se le deben proporcionar las características geométricas del defecto en el laminado y tiene que ser capaz de predecir, con un alto nivel de precisión, la rigidez efectiva del laminado. El entrenamiento de este modelo se debe de realizar con una gran cantidad de configuraciones de defectos diferentes. Este hecho genera la necesidad de crear un modelo de elementos finitos parametrizado de un laminado a nivel de cupón. En aquest treball de final de grau es realitza una millora d’una màquina d’inspecció, que consta de quatre càmeres fixes i que aplica tècniques de visió per computació, dissenyada per detectar les falles que es generen durant l’elaboració de la cinta dels cinturons de seguretat. Aquest sistema es va implementar fa anys quan la cinta només era negre massa, però recentment es va afegir una nova forma de produir la cinta, on comprant fil de color blanc i generant la cinta d’aquest mateix color, ha de passar per una màquina de tintura per donarli el color desitjat, i en aquest procés es generen taques que la màquina d’inspecció a dia d’avui no està capacitada per detectar. En aquest treball es pretén implementar una millora que permeti aquesta nova detecció sense influir negativament en la inspecció de les altres falles, tenint en compte els diferents paràmetres crítics com són la posició de la càmera i la il·luminació que rep la cinta. Per fer-ho, inicialment es farà un estudi del funcionament de la màquina de tintura per entendre com neixen les taques i els diferents tipus que hi ha. En segon lloc, es realitzaran una sèrie de proves per veure la taxa de detecció de taques actuals de la màquina d’inspecció per entendre la importància d’aquesta millora, amb el suport del cost de les reclamacions anuals per part del client. Tot seguit es realitzaran diferents propostes per solucionar el problema considerant en cada cas els seus avantatges així com inconvenients i se seleccionarà l’opció més adequada per dur a terme. Finalment es desenvoluparà l’opció escollida i es farà un estudi de rendibilitat del projecte, on es demostra que econòmicament és un projecte viable i els resultats obtinguts permeten una gran millora en la taxa de detecció de les taques fins a obtenir un resultat òptim.

In the current research, a complex microstructure and crystallographic data were developed through quenching and partitioning (Q&P) process to improve tensile properties of commercial pearlitic carbon-silicon steel. Two-stage Q&P process, including full austenitization, quenching at 220 °C, followed by two different partitioning temperatures, was applied to the as-received specimen to generate a complex microstructure composed of tempered martensite, bainite, ultrafine carbides/martensite-austenite/retained austenite particles. Microstructure and crystallographic data were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), and X-ray diffraction techniques. Then, hardness and tensile properties were evaluated to confirm the improvement of mechanical properties. Dilatation-temperature curves exhibited the kinetics of martensitic and bainitic transformation during quenching and isothermal partitioning stages. The presence of nano-carbide particles inside athermal martensite was confirmed by electron microscopy due to the pre-formed martensite carbon depletion during the partitioning stage coupled with bainitic transformation. The formation of preferential atomic-compact <111> direction in BCC (martensite/bainite) plates characterized by EBSD, could enhance ductility by providing adequate slip systems. Point-to-point misorientation analyses demonstrated a slight dominance of low angle boundaries proportion in bainitic dominance structure in Q&P-220-375 specimen, which could be used in phase characterization. Results revealed that the development of nanoscale carbide dispersed in refined bainite/martensite matrix boosted the yield and ultimate tensile strength by over 100% and 110% compared to the initial pearlitic microstructure. This work aims at deriving special types of one-dimensional Finite Elements (1D FE) for efficiently modeling heterogeneous prismatic structures, in the small strains regime, by means of reduced-order modeling (ROM) and domain decomposition techniques. The employed partitioning framework introduces “fictitious” interfaces between contiguous subdomains, leading to a formulation with both subdomain and interface fields. We propose a low-dimensional parameterization at both subdomain and interface levels by using reduced-order bases precomputed in an offline stage by applying the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) on solution snapshots. In this parameterization, the amplitude of the fictitious interfaces play the role of coarse-scale displacement unknowns. We demonstrate that, with this partitioned framework, it is possible to arrive at a solution strategy that avoids solving the typical nested local/global problem of other similar methods (such as the FE method). Rather, in our approach, the coarse-grid cells can be regarded as special types of finite elements, whose nodes coincides with the centroids of the interfaces, and whose kinematics are dictated by the modes of the “fictitious” interfaces. This means that the kinematics of our coarse-scale FE are not pre-defined by the user, but extracted from the set of “training” computational experiments. Likewise, we demonstrate that the coarse-scale and fine-scale displacements are related by inter-scale operators that can be precomputed in the offline stage. There has been increasing interest in green and recyclable materials to promote the circular economy. Moreover, the climate change of the last decades has led to an increase in the range of temperatures and energy consumption, which entails more energy expenditure for heating and cooling buildings. In this review, the properties of hemp stalk as an insulating material are analyzed to obtain recyclable materials with green solutions to reduce energy consumption and reduce noise to increase the comfort of buildings. Hemp stalks are a low-value by-product of hemp crops; however, they are a lightweight material with a high insulating property. This study aims to summarize the research progress in materials based on hemp stalks and to study the properties and characteristics of the different vegetable binders that could be used to produce a bio-insulating material. The material itself and its microstructural and physical aspects that affect the insulating properties are discussed, as is their influence on durability, moisture resistance, and fungi growth.
