[Display omitted] A significant challenge in cancer therapy is to maximize the therapeutic efficacy and minimize the side effects. In the past decade, a lot of nanoparticles have been used as the carriers for efficient drug delivery. This study was to prepare R9 modified with 125I-labeled cRGD and ce6 which self-assembled with miR-139-5p to form nanoparticles (Ce6-R9-125I-RGD-MNPs), and to further take advantage of the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect of radiolabeled nanoparticles to realize the integration of tumor diagnosis and treatment. We successfully synthesized and represented it, saline and serum stability experiments demonstrating good stability. Moreover, Ce6-R9-125I-RGD-MNPs showed superior tumor targeting and the effect of combined photodynamic therapy (PDT) and radiotherapy treatment in vivo and vitro. The pathological results further confirmed that the therapeutic doses of Ce6-R9-125I-RGD-MNPs cause pathological changes of tumor tissues while showing minimal toxicity to normal tissues. The fifth generation (5G) cellular communication system is designed to support Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA), Round-Trip Time (RTT), and Direction of Arrival (DOA) measurements for indoor positioning. To mitigate the positioning error caused by non-line-of-sight (NLOS), existing base station selection methods identify channel conditions and only use line-of-sight (LOS) signals for positioning. However, different selected base station combination would lead to a different geometric dilution of precision (GDOP), base station selection based only on channel condition is not fully applicable for the hybrid positioning. This paper derives the GDOP for the hybrid TDOA, RTT, and DOA positioning, and proposes a GDOP-assisted base station selection method, which is based on both channel conditions and GDOP value changes. The simulation shows that using the proposed base station selection method could lead to higher positioning accuracy than base station selection based only on channel condition. In the simulation, in the side region of the scenario, where the change of selected base station combination causes a notable increment in GDOP value, the positioning accuracy improvement caused by the proposed method is greater than that in the center region. This study evaluated the effect of Lentinus edodes fermentation (LEF) on digestive enzyme activity, antioxidant capacity and morphology of the liver and intestine in largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) fed high plant protein diets (HPPD). LEF was supplemented in HPPD with 0 g kg−1 (LEF0), 10 g kg−1 (LEF1), 20 g kg−1 (LEF2), 30 g kg−1 (LEF3), 40 g kg−1 (LEF4), 50 g kg−1 (LEF5), respectively, and then the six diets were fed to largemouth bass with a body weight of 28.8 ± 0.05 g for eight weeks. Juvenile fish were randomized into 6 groups and each group had 4 replicates with 40 fish. Dietary LEF supplementation alleviated the liver inflammatory reaction of largemouth bass caused by HPPD and improved liver morphology. Goblet cells multiplied and the gut muscle layer thickened after LEF supplementation. The LEF significantly increased amylase activity in the liver and intestine of largemouth bass in individual experimental groups. The LEF could increase the activity of catalase in the liver and intestine of largemouth bass (p < 0.05). The content of malondialdehyde was significantly lower than that in the control group (p < 0.05). Dietary LEF supplementation had no significant effect on the intestinal flora of largemouth bass. These findings imply that LEF supplementation can reduce liver inflammation, enhance intestinal tissue morphology, and eventually benefit largemouth bass health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Research on indoor positioning technologies has recently become a hotspot because of the huge social and economic potential of indoor location-based services (ILBS). Wireless positioning signals have a considerable attenuation in received signal strength (RSS) when transmitting through human bodies, which would cause significant ranging and positioning errors in RSS-based systems. This paper mainly focuses on the body-shadowing impairment of RSS-based ranging and positioning, and derives a mathematical expression of the relation between the body-shadowing effect and the positioning error. In addition, an inertial measurement unit-aided (IMU-aided) body-shadowing detection strategy is designed, and an error compensation model is established to mitigate the effect of body-shadowing. A Bluetooth positioning algorithm with body-shadowing error compensation (BP-BEC) is then proposed to improve both the positioning accuracy and the robustness in indoor body-shadowing environments. Experiments are conducted in two indoor test beds, and the performance of both the BP-BEC algorithm and the algorithms without body-shadowing error compensation (named no-BEC) is evaluated. The results show that the BP-BEC outperforms the no-BEC by about 60.1% and 73.6% in terms of positioning accuracy and robustness, respectively. Moreover, the execution time of the BP-BEC algorithm is also evaluated, and results show that the convergence speed of the proposed algorithm has an insignificant effect on real-time localization. The exploration of sustainable lignocellulosic nanomaterials with unique properties and applicable functions is receiving growing interest. In this work, holocellulose nanofibrils (HCNFs) were prepared from moso bamboo using mild alkaline peroxide bleaching method (MAPB) followed by mechanical nanofibrillation. MAPB was proved to effectively remove lignin and retain hemicellulose. Meanwhile, partial allomorphic changes from cellulose I to cellulose II were revealed together with varying degrees of crystallinity. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) experiment showed an increasing thermal stability trend due to more allomorphic changes into anti-parallel cellulose II. Well-dispersed HCNFs suspensions were successfully prepared by homogenization and HCNFs films with high transparency and flexibility were fabricated. The films reached the maximum tensile strength of 55.8 MPa and tensile strain of 1.55 % along with a calculated toughness of 25 MJ/m3. Moreover, the prepared materials are biocompatible and completely non-toxic, which will theoretically support the application of HCNFs materials in fields of biology, medicine and food industry. The glymphatic-lymphatic fluid transport system (GLFTS) consists of glymphatic pathway and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) lymphatic outflow routes, allowing biological liquids from the brain parenchyma to access the CSF along with perivascular space and to be cleaned out of the skull through lymphatic vessels. It is known that increased local pressure due to physical compression of tissue improves lymphatic transport in peripheral organs, but little is known about the exact relationship between increased intracranial pressure (IICP) and GLFTS. In this study, we verify our hypothesis that IICP significantly impacts GLFTS, and this effect depends on severity of the IICP. Using a previously developed inflating balloon model to induce IICP and inject fluorescent tracers into the cisterna magna, we found significant impairment of the glymphatic circulation after IICP. We further found that cerebrovascular occlusion occurred, and cerebrovascular pulsation decreased after IICP. IICP also interrupted the drainage of deep cervical lymph nodes and dorsal meningeal lymphatic function, enhancing spinal lymphatic outflow to the sacral lymph nodes. Notably, these effects were associated with the severity of IICP. Thus, our findings proved that the intensity of IICP significantly impacts GLFTS. At present, liver ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury is still a great challenge for clinical liver partial resection and liver transplantation. The innate immunity regulated by liver macrophages orchestrates the cascade of IR inflammation and acts as a bridge. As a specific macrophage subunit of vacuolar ATPase, ATP6V0D2 (V-ATPase D2 subunit) has been shown to promote the formation of autophagolysosome in vitro. Our research fills a gap which has existed in the study of inflammatory stress about the V-ATPase subunit ATP6V0D2 in liver macrophages. We first found that the expression of specific ATP6V0D2 in liver macrophages was upregulated with the induction of inflammatory cascade after liver IR surgery, and knockdown of ATP6V0D2 resulted in increased secretion of proinflammatory factors and chemokines, which enhanced activation of NLRP3 and aggravation of liver injury. Further studies found that the exacerbated activation of NLRP3 was related to the autophagic flux regulated by ATP6V0D2. Knocking down ATP6V0D2 impaired the formation of autophagolysosome and aggravated liver IR injury through nonspecific V-ATPase activation independent of V-ATPase-Notchl-Hesl signal axis. In general, we illustrated that the expression of ATP6V0D2 in liver macrophages was upregulated after liver IR, and by gradually promoting the formation of autophagolysosomes to increase autophagy flux to limit the activation of liver inflammation, this regulation is independent of the Notch1-Hes1 signal axis. Fritillariae Thunbergii Flos (FTF) included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (1977 Edition) is a Chinese medicinal herb traditionally used to treat bronchitis. In recent years, it has been applied in the treatment of lung cancer. However, the molecular mechanism remains largely unknown. The screening of bioactive compounds, acquisition of drug targets, network construction, and experimental validation in vivo were combined to explored the mechanism of FTF in the treatment of lung carcinoma with regards to systems pharmacology. The network Lung Cancer Pathway consisted of 114 nodes (44 compounds and 70 potential targets) and 361 edges, as well as modules that included inflammatory response, angiogenesis, negative regulation of the apoptotic process, and positive regulation of cell proliferation and migration. It was examined by conducting experiments that involved the administration of ethanol-based extracts of FTF in Lewis lung carcinoma mice. The extracts exerted excellent anti-lung cancer effects in vivo by significantly inhibiting tumor proliferation, thereby extending the survival period of tumor-bearing mice. Moreover, FTF induced the downregulation of PIK3CG, Bcl-2, eNOS, VEGF, p-STAT3, and STAT3 genes in tumor-bearing mice. The findings of the present study verify the therapeutic effects and mechanism of FTF on lung cancer and provide a theoretical basis to support the comprehensive utilization of FTF resources. Vehicle positioning with 5G can effectively compensate for the lack of vehicle positioning based on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) in urban canyons. However, there is also a large ranging error in the non-line of sight (NLOS) propagation of 5G. Aiming to solve this problem, we consider a new time delay estimation algorithm called non-line of sight cancellation multiple signal classification (NC-MUSIC). This algorithm uses cross-correlation to identify and cancel the NLOS signal. Then, an unsupervised multipath estimation method is used to estimate the number of multipaths and extract the noise subspace. The MUSIC spectral function can be calculated by the noise subspace. Finally, the time delay of the direct path is estimated by searching the peak of MUSIC spectral function. This paper adopts the 5G channel model developed by 3GPP TR38.901 for simulation experiments. The experiment results demonstrated that the proposed algorithm has obvious advantages in terms of NLOS propagation for urban canyon environments. It provided a high-precision time delay estimation algorithm for observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA), joint angle of arrival (AOA) ranging, and other positioning methods in the 5G vehicle positioning method, which can effectively improve the positioning accuracy of 5G vehicle positioning in urban canyon environments. Abstract: Based on gold-labeled silver stain (GLSS) method, we developed the visual protein microarray for simultaneous, sensitive, and specific detection of Ureaplasma parvum and Chlamydia trachomatis using N-terminus multiple-banded antigen (NMBA) of U. parvum and major outer membrane protein of C. trachomatis. The specific antigens were immobilized on glass surface that was treated with 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, and they were used as the capturing probes to recognize the complementary target antibodies binding to the detecting probes of Nano-gold-Staphylococcal protein A (SPA). In the “sandwich” format, Nano-gold-SPA probe was used as an indicator and GLSS was applied to amplify the detection signals and produce black image on array spots, which were visible with naked eyes. In our model arrays, the detection limit of protein microarray was as low as 2 ng/mL, and the lowest titer of detectable antibody was 1:128; thus, this sensitivity was comparable to the fluorescent detection method. The visual simultaneous protein microarrays were used to detect total 186 clinical samples, which had been determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and fluorescence quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction; the results were identical and no distinct difference (P > 0.05) existed between them. Our results demonstrate that we have developed the visual protein microarray technique, which is of high sensitivity and high specificity, and it may have potential in clinical applications. Abstract: Evidence has been presented that the species currently known as Ureaplasma urealyticum should be separated into 2 species—Ureaplasma parvum (previously, U. urealyticum biovar 1) and U. urealyticum (previously, U. urealyticum biovar 2). Differentiation and quantification of U. parvum and U. urealyticum can provide important information of the epidemiology of Ureaplasma infections. We developed 2 real-time TaqMan polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays that would allow rapid, specific, sensitive, quantitative detection and convenient differentiation of U. parvum and U. urealyticum. One hundred twenty-eight clinical specimens were studied and compared with results obtained by culture methods and conventional PCR. The positive rate of real-time TaqMan PCR (59.4%, 76 of 128) was higher than that of culture methods (42.2%, 54 of 128) and conventional PCR (50%, 64 of 128). Of 76 positive specimens, 86.8% (66) contained U. parvum only, 10.5% (8) contained U. urealyticum only, and 2.6% (2) contained both. The copy numbers of 11 positive specimens were in the range of 101 to 103 copies per reaction mixture, 18 in the range of 103 to 105, and 47 in the range of 105 to 108. In the future, quantitative detection and convenient differentiation of real-time TaqMan PCR assays will assist in the study of the pathogenesis and epidemiology of Ureaplasma infections. Localization estimation and clock synchronization are important research directions in the application of wireless sensor networks. Aiming at the problems of low positioning accuracy and slow convergence speed in localization estimation methods based on message passing, this paper proposes a low-complexity distributed cooperative joint estimation method suitable for dynamic networks called multi-Gaussian variational message passing (M-VMP). The proposed method constrains the message to be a multi-Gaussian function superposition form to reduce the information loss in the variational message passing algorithm (VMP). Only the mean, covariance and weight of each message need to be transmitted in the network, which reduces the computational complexity while ensuring the information completeness. The simulation results show that the proposed method is superior to the VMP algorithm in terms of position accuracy and convergence speed and is close to the sum-product algorithm over a wireless network (SPAWN) based on non-parametric belief propagation, but the computational complexity and communication load are significantly reduced.
