We introduce a novel water bath hydrogenation process designed to enhance the magnetic properties and hyperfine field of Y2Fe17. The core of this process lies in the successful preparation of a new compound Y2Fe17H3.5 by introducing hydrogen in a mild water bath environment, accomplished by a chemical reaction between calcium, Y2Fe17, and ammonium acetate solution at room temperature and pressure. After hydrogen doping, cell volume expansion increased from 778.511 to 795.383 Å3, and notably, lattice expansion is anisotropic. Furthermore, saturation magnetization is increased from 103 to 134.93 emu/g, Curie temperature is increased from 320 to 461 K, and the average hyperfine field is increased from 18 to 25 T. The improvement in magnetic properties is due to the increase in Fe–Fe distance, which according to the Bethe–Slater curve leads to stronger Fe–Fe exchange interactions and enhancing ferromagnetic interactions. This work not only proposes the novel rhombohedral Y2Fe17H3.5 with excellent magnetic properties, but also provides a new method for hydrogen doping in Y2Fe17 which lays the foundation of fundamental solid state physics for further research. The complex permeability and power losses are very important parameters for soft magnetic materials. In this paper, the temperature dependence of these two parameters is investigated for Mn–Zn ferrite. The Hopkinson peak was observed at 440 K below the Curie temperature (TC), and the domain-wall resonance peaks and the natural resonance peaks gradually move to lower frequencies until the Hopkinson temperature (TH). Further, the domain-wall resonance peaks from relaxation type to resonance type are observed by fitting the permeability spectrum, which is related to the reduction of the loss factor. In addition, the power losses were measured from 245 to 365 K and divided into hysteresis loss (Ph), eddy current loss (Pe), and excess loss (Pexc). Each loss contribution was discussed to be dependent on temperature. The results show that at high temperatures and high frequencies, the thermal superposition effect will cause an abnormal increase in excess loss. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Carbon neutrality is an important target in China's efforts to combat the climate crisis. The implementation of carbon neutrality requires high crop yields in farmland ecosystems of arid regions. However, the responses of farmland ecosystems to environmental changes and their effects on the conversion and intensity of carbon sources/sinks within farmlands in arid regions remain unclear, which limits carbon sequestration. In this study, we used a set of eddy covariance systems to observe carbon and water fluxes in cotton and spring maize, two typical crops in arid regions of Northern Xinjiang in China. The carbon and water exchange and water use efficiency (WUE) of cotton and spring maize were evaluated over the entire growth cycle with respect to changes in the environment. Our results show that the carbon sequestration capacity of farmland ecosystems in arid regions is undeniable and is strongly influenced by the growth and development of plants. Spring maize, as a representative of C4 plants, exhibited a 58.4% higher carbon sequestration efficiency than cotton, a C3 plant, and they both reached their carbon sequestration efficiency peak in July. Throughout the growth period, temperature, net surface radiation, and saturated vapor pressure differences (VPD) significantly affected the carbon sequestration capacity and WUE of both crops. Optimal temperatures can maximize the carbon sequestration efficiency of cotton and spring maize; for cotton, they are 20–25 °C, and for spring maize, they are 22–27 °C, respectively. In addition, it is recommended that spring maize be harvested at the end of July when it meets the harvesting standards for silage feed and achieves the maximum carbon sequestration. This experiment was designed to investigate the effects of curcumin levels on growth, flesh quality, and oxidative resistance in juvenile genetically improved farmed tilapia (GIFT, Oreochromis niloticus). Fish (initial mean weight: 4.5 ± 0.3 g) were randomly fed five diets with curcumin supplementation levels of 0 (control), 150, 300, 600, and 1,200 mg/kg. After 60 days of feeding, the hepatosomatic index was significantly reduced in the curcumin supplemented groups. The 300 mg/kg group had the highest crude protein content of the whole fish. Compared to the control group, the crude fat content of whole fish in the 150 and 300 mg/kg groups was significantly reduced by 18.83%–19.74%, respectively. The highest values for muscular hardness, chewiness, myofibrillar density, and proportion of small-sized myofibers (<40 μm) were observed in the 300 mg/kg group. The levels of total nonessential amino acids and bitter amino acids in muscle were significantly lower in the 150 and 300 mg/kg groups than in the other groups. The 300 mg/kg group had higher levels of free sweet amino acids in the muscle than the other groups. Muscles from the 150, 300, and 600 mg/kg groups had significantly higher levels of umami amino acids than in the other groups. The levels of total free nonessential amino acids and total amino acids in serum were significantly higher in the 300 mg/kg group than in the control group. Serum aspartate transaminase activity was significantly lower in the curcumin supplementation groups than in the control group, and the serum alanine aminotransferase activity was significantly lower in the 150 mg/kg group than in the other groups. Serum superoxide dismutase activity was significantly higher in the curcumin supplementation groups than in the control group. Serum catalase activity was significantly higher in the 150 mg/kg group than in the other groups. The serum malondialdehyde level was lowest in the 150 mg/kg group. These results suggest that dietary curcumin supplementation in the diet at 150–300 mg/kg can effectively improve the nutritional value, muscle flavor, and antioxidant capacity of tilapia. Zika virus (ZIKV) infection poses a significant threat to global public health and is associated with microcephaly. There are no approved ZIKV‐specific vaccines or drugs for the clinical treatment of the infection. Currently, there are no approved ZIKV‐specific vaccines or drugs for the clinical treatment of the infection. In this study, we investigated the antiviral potential of aloperine, a quinolizidine alkaloid, against ZIKV infection in vivo and in vitro. Our results demonstrate that aloperine effectively inhibits ZIKV infection in vitro, with a low nanomolar half maximal effective concentration (EC50). Specifically, aloperine strongly protected cells from ZIKV multiplication, as indicated by decreased expression of viral proteins and virus titer. Our further investigations using the time‐of‐drug‐addition assay, binding, entry, and replication assays, detection of ZIKV strand‐specific RNA, the cellular thermal shift assay, and molecular docking revealed that aloperine significantly inhibits the replication stage of the ZIKV life cycle by targeting the domain RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase (RDRP) of ZIKV NS5 protein. Additionally, aloperine reduced viremia in mice and effectively lowered the mortality rate in infected mice. These findings highlight the potency of aloperine and its ability to target ZIKV infection, suggesting its potential as a promising antiviral drug against ZIKV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
