Existing research commonly uses functional connectivity (FC) combined with graph theory analysis to accomplish the auxiliary diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Traditional FC analysis methods usually target low-order FC networks, while high-order FC networks can reveal higher-level interactions in brain networks. However, there are few studies involving graph theory in high-order FC networks, and traditional graph theory indicators have limitations in high-order FC networks. This paper constructs a high-order FC network through high-order dynamic functional connections, combines graph theory to analyze the brain network status of MCI and normal cognition (NC), and defines two new graph theory indicators, blocking coefficient and average transition time, to characterize temporal variability in brain networks. The results show that the application of graph theory in high-order FC network can effectively extract the differential information between MCI group and NC group. The proposed blocking coefficient and average conversion time index can both show significant differences, providing a new analysis method for the study of high-order brain network.

AIM: To investigate the onset of age, gender, profession, marital characteristics, clinical symptoms, signs, image characteristics of fundus and laser scanning features of syphilitic chorioretinitis.METHODS: Retrospective case series study. A total of 114 patients(138 eyes), 24 of whom were double eyes diagnosed with syphilitic chorioretinitis from January 2006 to January 2023 were included in this study. All of the data were collected from eye examination including the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA), intraocular pressure(IOP), fundus photography, optical coherence tomography(OCT), fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA), indocyanine green angiography(ICGA), visual field, visual evoked response; and blood tests including rapid plasma reagin(RPR)test and treponema pallidum hemagglutination(TPPA)test, tuberculin test, tuberculosis spot test, human immunodeficiency virus, human leukocyte antigen-B27, rheumatism series examination.RESULTS: All patients tested positive for RPR and TPPA, while other laboratory tests were negative, confirming the diagnosis of syphilitic chorioretinopathy. The average age of onset was 44±13.1 years old, with 59 males(51.8%), 55 females(48.2%), 90 monocular cases(78.9%), and 24 binocular cases(21.1%), and there were no significant differences in gender, marriage, or occupation. The main clinical features were visual loss, hyperemia of the optic disc, grayish-yellow opacity of the central retina; FFA mainly showed early dot weak background fluorescence in the peripheral region of the macula, retinal blood vessel fluorescence leakage staining, retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)fluorescence accumulation and optic disc staining or strong fluorescence; ICGA and OCT were mainly manifested by squamous weak fluorescence of the posterior retina; and the manifestations of FFA and ICGA were symmetrical; OCT revealed hyperreflective dots and pinpoint projection of RPE.CONCLUSION: The median age of onset in patients with syphilitic chorioretinitis is 44 years old, and monocular onset is more common. The patient's gender, marriage, and occupation have no significant characteristics. The clinical manifestations mainly include decreased vision, gray white cells in the vitreous body, thickening of the posterior pole retina, and grayish yellow changes. Correctly identifying OCT, FFA, and ICGA features can reduce missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis, and make an early and correct diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Objective To investigate the effect of minocycline (Mino) on the polarization of types M1/M2 microglia (pro- and anti-inflammatory type) in the spinal dorsal horn of rats with neuropathic pain (NP) induced by spinal nerve ligation (SNL) and its underlying mechanism. Methods A total of 36 adult male SD rats were randomly stratified into Sham-operation (Sham) group, SNL group and Mino+SNL group by stratified random sampling based on body weight. Mechanical pain threshold and cold nociceptive thresholds of rat hind paw were measured in 1 d before and 14 d after modelling. Spinal cord tissue at the lumbar 5 (L5) segment was taken at 14 d after modelling, and the total number of microglia as well as the numbers of M1 and M2 microglia in the spinal dorsal horn were measured with immunohistochemistry and stereology. With aid of bioinformatics techniques, the core target in the spinal cord, Cst7, was selected. Then, the protein levels of microglia marker Iba-1, M1 microglia marker iNOS, M2 microglia marker CD206, Cst7 encoded protein cystatin F (CF) and pathway CatS/CX3CL1/CX3CR1 were detected with Western blotting. The expression levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-10 in the spinal cord tissues were measured with ELISA. Results The mechanical pain and cold nociceptive thresholds were both significantly higher in the M+SNL group than the SNL group at 7~14 d after modelling (P < 0.01). The total number of microglia and the numbers of M1/M2 microglia in the spinal dorsal horn as well as the expression levels of CatS, CX3CL1, CX3CR1, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-10 in the spinal cord tissues were obviously increased, and the expression level of CF was notably decreased in the SNL model group than the Sham group (P < 0.01). While, Mino treatment remarkably reversed above phenomena, with decreased total number of microglia and number of M1 microglia as well as expression levels of CatS, CX3CL1, CX3CR1, TNF-α and IL-6, and increased number of M2 microglia as well as CF and IL-10 levels when compared with the SNL group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Mino alleviates SNL induced neuropathic pain, probably through up-regulating CF in the microglia, and thus inhibiting the CatS/CX3CL1/CX3CR1 signaling pathway, promoting the conversion of microglia from type M1 to M2 to balance the imbalance in the M1/M2 polarization, and thus reducing neuroinflammation.

Gallium arsenide (GaAs) semiconductor wires have emerged as potent candidates for nonlinear optical devices, necessitating bandgap engineering for an expanded operational wavelength range. We report the successful growth of strain-mediated GaAs microwires (MWs) with an average diameter of 1.1 μm. The axial tensile strain in these wires, as measured by X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering, ranges from 1.61 % to 1.95 % and from 1.44 % to 2.03 %, respectively. This strain condition significantly reduces the bandgap of GaAs MWs compared to bulk GaAs, enabling a response wavelength extension up to 1.1 μm. Open aperture Z-scan measurements reveal a nonlinear absorption coefficient of −15.9 cm/MW and a third-order magnetic susceptibility of −2.8 × 10−8 esu at 800 nm for these MWs. I-scan measurements further show that the GaAs saturable absorber has a modulation depth of 7.9 % and a nonsaturation loss of 3.3 % at 1050 nm. In laser applications, GaAs MWs have been effectively used as saturable absorbers for achieving Q-switched and dual-wavelength synchronous mode-locking operations in Yb-bulk lasers. These results not only offer new insights into the use of large diameter semiconductor wires but also expand the potential for applications requiring bandgap tuning.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of protoporphyrin Ⅸ (PPⅨ) in different stages of liver disease development, including hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Methods A total of 41 patients with chronic hepatitis (hepatitis group), 33 patients with liver cirrhosis (cirrhosis group), and 19 patients with liver cancer (liver cancer group) who visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical University from January 2022 to December 2022 were selected as study object. Additionally, 40 healthy examinees during the same period were selected as the health control group. The basic information, blood routine, liver function, coagulation function, alpha fetoprotein (AFP)，controlled attenuation parameter (CAP)，liver stiffness measurement (LSM)，γ-glutamyl transpeptidase to platelet ratio (GPR) from each group were collected and compared. The correlation between various indicators and PPⅨ was analyzed. And the predictive value of PPⅨ and liver function related indicators on liver stiffness was analyzed. Objective: Establish a high throughput method for the determination of 57 organic pollutants in edible vegetable oil. Methods: The target compounds were extracted by acetonitrile-hexane solution and purified by disperse solid phase extraction and solid phase extraction, after that the contents of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, 17 phthalates, 8 organochlorines and 16 polychlorinated biphenyls in edible oil were detected by gas chromatography triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. Results: All target components had an excellent linearity within the linear range of 0.001~0.1 μg/mL （r2＞0.998）, and the limits of detection was between 0.16~2.0 μg/kg, meanwhile the average recovery rate of matrix addition was between 71.0%~119.5%, and the relative standard deviation was below 12.6% （n=6）. Furthermore, the method was used to analyze 24 baches of edible oils, and 25 types of target substances were founded. Conclusion: This method is high efficiency, accuracy, high sensitivity, which has great significance for the monitoring of persistent organic pollutants and phthalates in edible oil.

Considering the reduction of ride comfort under wind disturbance, the ride quality control method based on singular perturbation decomposition is proposed. For the dynamic model of elastic aircraft, the singular perturbation theory is used to decouple the model into the rigid-slow subsystem and the flexible-fast subsystem. Considering the additional time-varying disturbance and aerodynamic uncertainty of the rigid subsystem, the disturbance observer is designed to estimate disturbance effect and the neural network is used to deal with model uncertainty. The adaptive robust control is constructed using the composite estimation information as feedforward compensation and the tracking error of pitch rate and normal overload as feedback design. For the flexible subsystem, a nonsingular terminal sliding mode controller is designed to achieve active vibration suppression. The ride quality control law of elastic aircraft is obtained by combining the control inputs of the rigid and flexible subsystems, and the additional normal overload and elastic mode can be quickly restrained and converged. Based on Lyapunov stability analysis, the uniformly ultimate boundedness of the system is proved. The simulation results show that the proposed method can reduce the additional normal overload at the key positions of the aircraft under discrete gust and atmospheric turbulence, and the riding quality of elastic aircraft is effectively improved.

E-commerce platforms are becoming increasingly competitive, and how to attract and retain users has become a problem that operators need to solve. The study improves the K-means clustering algorithm by introducing the concepts of mean sample distance and SSE and using the median to construct profile coefficients. Based on this, the user labels of cross-border e-commerce companies are selected, and clustering segmentation is performed after collecting the user data of Company T on cross-border e-commerce platforms to reveal the basic characteristics, purchasing preferences, and behavioral habits of different e-commerce users. A cross-border e-commerce marketing strategy based on customer segmentation has been formulated, and its effectiveness has been verified. Through clustering analysis, users are successfully classified into three types: high-value (4.01%), dynamic (7.35%), and growth (88.64%). After implementing the marketplace strategy, the sample companies gained significant growth in user growth, referral effect, and merchandise sales, as reflected in the number of first-buy users (63.46%), effective users (21.45%), ad click rate (18%~22%) and sales volume (166.43%). This study can help cross-border e-commerce enterprises better understand user needs and behavioral patterns and formulate more accurate marketing strategies to enhance their competitiveness and market share.

Alternaria mycotoxins are the secondary metabolites of Alternaria species, which have obvious toxicity （mutagenicity, teratogenicity and carcinogenicity, etc） to humans and animals. Alternariol （AOH）, alternariol monomethyl ether （AME）, alternuene （ALT）, tenuazonic acid （TeA） and tenoxin （TEN） are the most studied at present. Alternaria mycotoxins was reported in apples, orange, tomatoes, corns and other agricultural products. Eating these foods contaminated by Alternaria mycotoxins will cause serious harm to human health. In this paper, the pollution status and the detection technology of Alternaria mycotoxins were summarized, and the future research direction of Alternaria mycotoxins was prospected. The purpose was to provide references for the risk assessment, detection and prevention of Alternaria mycotoxins in foods.

Children are the hope of the future, but they are also the most vulnerable to poverty. Gender differences in children have been a major concern in society, and research on gender differences in multidimensional child poverty and their causes has important theoretical value and practical significance for child poverty reduction. Based on spatio-temporal analysis, we selected five dimensions of nutrition, health, education, individual growth, living conditions and 16 corresponding evaluation indicators to construct an evaluation index system of multidimensional poverty among children in China. The multidimensional poverty index of Chinese boys and girls from 2010 to 2018 was measured using the Alkire-Foster (A-F)method. Additionally, the spatio-temporal variations of gender differences in multidimensional child poverty during the period was analyzed using spatial autocorrelation and other methods, and a binary logistic regression model was applied to explore the influencing factors of gender differences. The results reveal the following: 1) The multidimensional poverty index of Chinese children decreased year by year during the study period, and the gender gap tended to narrow, with the poverty level of boys being higher from 2010 to 2012, while that of girls exceeded that of boys after 2014. Moreover, the gender difference in child poverty is mainly reflected in nutrition and living conditions. In terms of the contribution rate of indicators, the gender difference in the contribution rate of weight indicators is the largest, followed by height, family companionship, and enrollment at an appropriate age. 2) The multidimensional poverty index of boys and girls reveals the spatial distribution characteristics of "East-Central-West" stepwise increase. Compared with boys, the spatial clustering effect of multidimensional poverty among girls is more obvious. In 2018, the regions with significant gender differences in multidimensional child poverty are mainly concentrated in the five provinces of Fujian, Hunan, Jilin, Shaanxi, and Hubei. Additionally, the overall situation of multidimensional poverty among girls is more serious. 3) Since 2010, the gender differences in multidimensional poverty among children in China's urban and rural areas have displayed a decreasing trend; the gender gap is generally higher among urban children than rural children. In 2018, the gender gap in poverty among urban children is very significant in the four provinces and cities of Fujian, Chongqing, Hunan, and Guizhou, while that among rural children is more serious in Heilongjiang and Shaanxi provinces. These six provinces exhibit more poverty among girls, indicating that this is a priority for future improvement. 4) Urban-rural attributes, parental marital status, household income, and the highest level of education among parents are important factors influencing the gender differences in multidimensional poverty among children. Among these, household income has a deeper impact on girls, while urban-rural attributes, parental marital status, and the highest level of education among parents have a more significant impact on boys.

Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) is a severe acute liver function decompensation that occurs after an acute attack on the basis of chronic liver disease, which has attracted the attention of hepatologists worldwide due to its rapid progression and sky-high short-term mortality. As the etiology and clinical features of ACLF significantly differ across various countries/regions, there are at least ten diagnostic criteria for ACLF at home and abroad. Therefore, in this paper, we reviewed the studies related to several commonly used definitions and diagnostic criteria of ACLF, and compared the differences among the diagnostic criteria, so as to help clinicians better identify ACLF and optimize clinical decision-making, thereby improving the clinical outcomes of ACLF patients. As there are still no recognized criteria for the diagnosis of ACLF worldwide, and large variations exist between the diagnostic criteria of ACLF at home and abroad, clinicians should select the diagnostic criteria for ACLF with sufficient consideration of etiology of chronic liver disease, clinical characteristics and other factors of patients.

Introducing rotational degree of control into conventional optical tweezers promises unprecedented possibilities in physics, optical manipulation, and life science. However, previous rotational schemes have largely relied upon the intrinsic properties of microsphere anisotropy—such as birefringence or amorphous shape—which involves sophisticated fabrication processes and is limited in their application range. In this study, we demonstrated the first experimental realization of orbiting a homogeneous microsphere by exploiting angular momentum in a transversely rotating optical trap. The high level of rotational control allows us to explore orbital-translational coupling and realize an ultra-stable micro-gyroscope of considerable value. The dynamics of orbital levitated particle was theoretically characterized using a simple model. Our proposed method provided a novel way to qualitatively characterize optical trap features. In the future, the approach could pave the way for investigating rotational opto-mechanics, rotational ground state cooling, and the study of ultra-sensitive angular measurement.

All of them are conducive to reducing the forecast error rate. This paper analyzes Lenovo Group's efforts to improve the problems of data islands and data breakpoints in the past. It innovates some ways and methods. Not only provides a reference for other enterprises to improve but also reduces the bullwhip effect. They are making the resource utilization of the supply chain more sufficient, and being more conducive to the sustainable development of the supply chain. The research conclusions of this paper have certain references and enlightenments for enterprises to improve the accuracy of forecasting.

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of a natural small molecule, HEP-14, on melanoma SK-Mel-103 cells and its underlying mechanism. Methods SK-Mel-103 cells were treated with HEP-14 at different concentrations (2.5~40 μmol/L). The untreated cells were used as a control. Cell viability and colony formation were respectively assessed using CCK-8 assay and colony formation assay. Flow cytometry was applied to examine cell cycle and apoptosis. Transwell assay was used to evaluate cellular mobility. Real-time RT-qPCR was used to measure the mRNA expression of CD271 and STAT3, and Western blotting was employed to detect the protein levels of CD271, STAT3 and p-STAT3. Immunofluorescence assay was perform to confirm the expression of CD271. Results HEP-14 significantly inhibited the growth and colony formation of SK-Mel-103 cells (P < 0.05), induced cell arrest at G2/M phase (P < 0.05), promoted cell apoptosis (P < 0.05) and suppressed cell mobility in comparison with the untreated cells. In addition, HEP-14 treatment suppressed the phosphorylation of STAT3 (P < 0.05) and down-regulated the expression of CD271 (P < 0.05) in the melanoma cell lines SK-Mel-103, SK-Mel-147 and SK-Mel-28. Conclusion Natural small molecule HEP-14 effectively inhibits the proliferation and induces the apoptosis of melanoma SK-Mel-103 cells, and it suppresses the cell migration by inhibiting activation of STAT to down-regulate CD271 expression.

Objective: This study aimed to help with the scientific management of leek food safety in Hunan Province. Methods: 24 kinds of pesticides and 5 kinds of heavy metals in 690 leek samples from Hunan Province were detected. Results: ① Pesticide residues were detected in 23.19% of the 690 samples, and the top three pesticides were determined to be carbendazim, procymidone and cypermethrin. The exceeding rate of pesticide residues was 5.80%, and the highest exceeding rate was 2.61% of procymidone. ② The detection rate of heavy metal elements was 77.68%, and the exceeding rate was 3.62%. The highest detection rate and exceeding rate of heavy metal elements was Cd. Conclusion: High pesticide residues in leek were confirmed, and the detection rate of heavy metal elements in leeks is much higher than that of pesticide residues. Among them, pesticide procymidone and heavy metal Cd are the main over-standard items of leeks. It is suggested to strengthen the continuous monitoring of pesticide residues and heavy metal pollution in leeks.

To ensure the national demand for gas supply and peak shaving, a project of capacity expansion is proposed for the Xiangguosi underground gas storage (UGS). A geologic integrity evaluation is urgently needed to optimize the upper operating pressure and ensure the long-term safe operation. Thus, based on the geological, seismic, well logging, and dynamic monitoring data as well as the indoor core experimental data, 3D static and 4D geomechanical models were established for this UGS. Some geomechanical characteristics of the geological body were analyzed. The stability of the caprock, base, and fault under different reservoir pressure was individually simulated and evaluated as well. The results show that, both the caprock of the Liangshan Formation and the base of the Hanjiadian Formation may produce a little formation deformation during the operation; the five reservoir-controlling faults have no risk of fault activation during the early UGS operation under current stress conditions, and their sealing performance is good; when the reservoir pressure is higher than the original formation pressure of 6 MPa, the integrity of the Xiangguosi UGS is at risk of instability. This research accurately and quantitatively evaluate the operation safety of the Xiangguosi UGS under the influence of dynamic stress field, which has important guiding significance for the optimization of its operation plan.

Premature infants are traditionally nursed in an open bay Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), making them extremely vulnerable to recurrent outbreaks from the hospital-built environment (including water sources). Our experience, like many others, has shown that plumbing in hospital premise can harbour pathogens that result in healthcare-associated infections.In 2016, the National University Hospital of Singapore NICU-infection control multidisciplinary workgroup was set up to monitor and implement strategies to reduce late-onset-sepsis (LOS).Various water free and avoidance of tap water use measures were taken to further reduce incidence of LOS since 2016-17 .This included use of alcohol based hand-rub for routine hand hygiene and before performing procedures such as insertion of central lines. Sinks in close proximity to patient beds were closed. In August 2022, a new NICU was designed to have only 1 sink in clinical area. Existing sinks underwent scheduled monthly change of P-trap. Irrigated sterile water replacing warmed tap water was used to bathe the premature infants. We define this as ‘Water Less NICU care’. Ongoing measures for infection control (e.g., antibiotic policy, high hand hygiene compliance of healthcare personnel, NICU acuity and admission, nurse-patient ratio etc.) remained unchanged. The rate of late onset sepsis (LOS) rate among very low birth weight (babies born below 1500 grams) babies declined from baseline 12.5%(2015) to around 5-6% per year between 2016-2021 period. We believe implementation of Water Less NICU care has contributed to the reduction in LOS for VLBW babies. It is doable and an important step towards sustainable infection control in the NICU.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with multiple systemic lesions. It has a high incidence of anxiety and depression due to the prolonged course of the disease, which adversely affects the treatment, affects the quality of life of patients, and threatens the life and health of patients. Through searching and reading relevant literature, the research status of anxiety and depression, influencing factors and psychological intervention measures were summarized to guide clinical timely discovery of relevant factors and psychological intervention, so as to reduce the incidence of anxiety and depression in SLE patients and improve their quality of life. The self-assembly of actinides represents a cutting-edge research topic in the field of chemical materials, among which the actinide metal organic frameworks(An-MOF) emerge as the most shining star due to their tailorable structure, abundant coordination modes and versatile functionality, and have gained significant progress in recent years. In this review, the domestic and foreign advances of the synthesis and property investigation of An-MOF are first summary. Then a systematic introduction of uranium- and thorium- MOFs developed in our group is presented. Finally, the future direction of actinide self-assembly chemistry is briefly prospected.

Accurate monthly streamflow prediction is crucial for effective flood mitigation and water resource management. The present study proposes an innovative similarity-derived model (SDM), developed based on the observation that similar monthly streamflow patterns recur across different years under comparable hydrological and climate conditions. The model is applied to the Lancang River Basin in China. The model performance is compared with the commonly used support vector machine (SVM) and Mean methods. Evaluation measures such as RMSE, MAPE, and NSE confirm that SDM6 with a reference period of six months achieves the best performance, improving the Mean model by 79.9 m3/s in RMSE, 6.07% in MAPE, and 8.62% in NSE, and the SVM by 53.65 m3/s, 0.24%, and 5.53%, respectively.

Metasurfaces with ultrathin artificial structures have attracted much attention because of their unprecedented capability in light manipulations. The recent development of metasurfaces with controllable responses opens up new opportunities in various applications. Moreover, metasurfaces composed of twisted chiral structures can generate asymmetric responses for opposite incidence, leading to more degrees of freedom in wave detections and controls. However, most past studies had focused on the amplitude responses, not to mention using bi-directional phase responses, in the characterization and light manipulation of chiral metasurfaces. Here, we report a birefringent interference approach to achieve a controllable asymmetric bi-directional transmission phase from planar chiral metasurface by tuning the orientation of the metasurface with respect to the optical axis of an add-on birefringent substrate. To demonstrate our approach, we fabricate planar Au sawtooth nanoarray metasurface and measure the asymmetric transmission phase of the metasurface placed on a birefringent sapphire crystal slab. The Au sawtooth metasurface-sapphire system exhibits large oscillatory behavior for the asymmetric transmission phase with the tuning parameter. We confirm our experimental results by Jones matrix calculations using data obtained from full-wave simulations for the metasurface. Our approach in the characterization and light manipulation of metasurfaces with controllable responses is simple and nondestructive, enabling new functionalities and potential applications in optical communication, imaging, and remote sensing.

Objective The purpose of this study is to investigate apoptosis of hippocampal neurons and the expression of glial cell line⁃derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and brain⁃derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in neonatal pups with EDNRB gene deficiency. Methods The infant rats (2-3 d after birth) with EDNRB gene defect caused by congenital base deletion were divided into wild (+/+), heterozygous (+/sl) and homozygous (sl/sl), 6-8 rats were included in each group. Apoptosis of hippocampal nerve cells was detected by TUNEL staining. The number of apoptotosic cells was calculated by confocal fluorescence microscopy, and the levels of GDNF and BDNF in hippocampus was determined by enzyme⁃linked immunsorbent assay (ELISA). Results The number of apoptotic cells in hippocampus of the three genotypes was significantly different (F=24.315, P=0.000), the number of apoptotic cells in sl/sl was higher than that in +/+ (t=⁃6.780, P=0.000) and +/sl (t=4.801, P=0.000). The number of apoptotic cells was the highest in hippocampal CA1 region, followed by CA3 region, and the lowest in dentate gyrus. However, there was no significant difference in the levels of BDNF (F=0.766, P=0.479) and GDNF (F=2.538, P=0.107) in the hippocampus between different genotypes. Conclusions In rat with EDNRB gene defect, compared with the heterozygote and wild rats, the neural apoptosis were increased in hippocampal CA1, CA3 regions. But the levels of neurotrophic factors BDNF and GDNF were not significantly changed.

BackgroundThe global health has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic persistently, of which Omicron is currently the predominant variant. However, the impact of vaccination on Omicron remained uncertain.ObjectiveThis study sought to explore the effect of vaccination on patients infected with Omicron.MethodsA retrospective observational cohort was conducted in the largest Fangcang shelter hospital in Shanghai from April 1 to May 30, 2022. The demographics, length of hospital stay, clinical symptoms, the comorbidities and vaccination status were recorded. Clinical outcomes of the vaccinated and non-vaccinated groups were compared and analyzed.ResultsOf the 3,119 patients who fulfilled the eligibility criteria and were enrolled in the study, 2,226 (71.4%) patients had received nCoV-19 vaccine while 893 (28.6%) patients had not received it before admission. Patients in the vaccinated group had significantly shorter length of hospital stay than those in the unvaccinated group (15.48 ± 2.708 vs. 15.85 ± 3.102, p < 0.001). More asymptomatic patients were observed in the vaccinated group than the non-vaccinated (70.4 vs. 64.5%, p < 0.001). Further subgroup analysis demonstrated that the older the age, the more significant the difference was (p < 0.005).ConclusionsVaccination was associated with a significant reduction in the severity of Omicron infection compared with no vaccination. Vaccination appears to make Omicron-infected people with milder symptoms than unvaccinated people. This suggests the potential effectiveness of current vaccines against Omicron.

Objective To establish and validate a Nomogram for predicting the survival of patients with pediatric ependymoma based on SEER database. Methods We collected the clinicopathological data from 1975 to 2016 in the SEER database. Univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to identify potential predictors. A Nomogram was constructed to predict 5- and 10-year overall survival of patients with pediatric ependymoma. The consistency index (C-index), receiver operating characteristic curve and calibration curve were used to verify the discrimination and accuracy of the Nomogram. The decision curve analysis was performed to verify the clinical applicability of the Nomogram. Results A Nomogram model was established based on multivariate Cox proportional hazards model of training set. C-index values of the Nomogram were 0.713 (95%CI: 0.680-0.747) and 0.734 (95%CI: 0.681-0.787) in the training and validation sets, respectively. ROC curves also showed good discrimination in the training set. The calibration curves showed satisfactory consistency between Nomogram and ideal models. The decision curve analysis demonstrated the considerable clinical usefulness of the Nomogram. Conclusion The Nomogram model is constructed based on age at diagnosis, gender, race, primary tumor sites, tumor grade, surgery treatment and SEER registry to predict the survival of patients with pediatric ependymoma. It has good discrimination and accuracy degree, providing useful guidance to make more accurate and personalized survival prediction for patients in clinic.

The hydropower unit commitment (HUC) is often indirectly considered by combining individual units in a hydropower plant into a plant-based generator to alleviate the dimensional difficulty in short-term hydropower scheduling of cascaded reservoirs. This work presents three procedures to combine operating zones of units in a hydropower plant into the plant-based operating zones, including an exhaustive method (M01) that enumerates all the possible combinations, a discrete method (M03) that investigates discrete values to see if they are in an operating zone, and a bound oriented method (M04) that explores new operating zones with an optimization solver. The procedures are compared with a previous one (M02) that merges the operating zones of a unit one by one in order. The experiments of the methods in 11 case studies involving a variety of hydropower plants reveal that the second method (M02) should always be recommended due to its strength, which is even more prominent than any other methods in dealing with large-scale problems, and errors occur when using interpolation to estimate the plant-based operating zones at a water head between two sampling water heads.

Special translation process refers to the process of the translator’s conversion of the specific text, which is, the process of the translator’s conversion from the original text to the final target text. The translator’s understanding and re-expression are the two basic steps in this process. Special translation process is not only a simple process of languages conversion, but also involves the process of text selection, text research, text understanding and interpretation, text generation and text acceptance.

Digital photography has impacted the visual truth in terms of image operation technology. The paper analyzes the performance of image manipulation in digital photography, and asserts that the operation image’s resolution of visual truth can be described by three aspects: the fact deviation, the reconstruction of the situation, the trust crisis, the filter survival, the second reprint, and the value change. Consequently, there are three visual ethical problems associated with the manipulation of images by technology, the siege of images on people, and distortions of social order caused by the manipulation of images by technology. Thus, it is suggested that visual ethics be reconstructed from three perspectives: reconstructing the dominant role of human beings in the digital era, returning to the original significance of visual images, and constructing multiple visual structures.

The corrosion of materials brings serious economic and safety problems to the society. Superhydrophobic coatings have great potential for anti-corrosion due to the special structure of the surface. In this paper, the establishment and development of several superhydrophobic theoretical models were reviewed. The theoretical basis and existing problems of applying superhydrophobic coatings to corrosion protection were analyzed. Several methods, such as hydrothermal method, sol-gel method and etching method, were discussed. The commonly used superhydrophobic coating preparation methods were summarized. In the field of large-scale application and corrosion protection of superhydrophobic coating, it is necessary to study the corrosion protection behavior of the coating in theory, simplify the process, reduce the cost,and improve the mechanical stability of the coating and the controllable transformation of water drop on the surface of the coating.

Pd-catalyzed asymmetric Suzuki–Miyaura couplings of 3-methyl-2-bromophenylamides, 3-methyl-2-bromo-1-nitrobenzene and 1-naphthaleneboronic acids have been successfully developed and the corresponding axially chiral biaryl compounds were obtained in very high yields (up to 99%) with good enantioselectivities (up to 88% ee) under mild conditions. The chiral-bridged biphenyl monophosphine ligands developed by our group exhibit significant superiority to the naphthyl counterpart MOP in both reactivity and enantioselectivity control. The large steric hindrance from π-conjugated ortho-substituents of the bromobenzene substrates and the Pd···O interaction between carbonyl and palladium seem essential to achieve high enantioselectivity.

The purpose of the work is to determine the personal qualities of a music teacher that contribute to the effectiveness of his artistic and educational activities in modern conditions, the theoretical development of the essence, content, and component structure of the categories “artistic empathy”, “style culture of performing musical works”, “artistic and performing self-efficacy of the individual”. Using the methods of questioning, testing, pedagogical observation, and analysis of lessons in the system of arts faculties of pedagogical universities of Ukraine and statistical processing of the materials obtained, the state of modern practice of professional training of future musicians is characterized. As a result of the study, it is argued that these qualities are among the dominant professional and personal qualities of a modern music teacher. The article confirms the prospects for forming these professional and personal qualities precisely in the process of special musical training of students.

Abstract Background Long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) are part of genes, which are not translated into proteins and play a vital role in plant growth and development. Nevertheless, the presence of LncRNAs and how they functions in Ligon-lintless-1 mutant during the early cessation of cotton fiber development are still not well understood. In order to investigate the function of LncRNAs in cotton fiber development, it is necessary and important to identify LncRNAs and their potential roles in fiber cell development. Results In this work, we identified 18,333 LncRNAs, with the proportion of long intergenic noncoding RNAs (LincRNAs) (91.5%) and anti-sense LncRNAs (8.5%), all transcribed from Ligon-lintless-1 (Li1) and wild-type (WT). Expression differences were detected between Ligon-lintless-1 and wild-type at 0 and 8 DPA (day post anthesis). Pathway analysis and Gene Ontology based on differentially expressed LncRNAs on target genes, indicated fatty acid biosynthesis and fatty acid elongation being integral to lack of fiber in mutant cotton. The result of RNA-seq and RT-qPCR clearly singles out two potential LncRNAs, LNC_001237 and LNC_017085, to be highly down-regulated in the mutant cotton. The two LncRNAs were found to be destabilized or repressed by ghr-miR2950. Both RNA-seq analysis and RT-qPCR results in Ligon-lintless-1 mutant and wild-type may provide strong evidence of LNC_001237, LNC_017085 and ghr-miR2950 being integral molecular elements participating in various pathways of cotton fiber development. Conclusion The results of this study provide fundamental evidence for the better understanding of LncRNAs regulatory role in the molecular pathways governing cotton fiber development. Further research on designing and transforming LncRNAs will help not only in the understanding of their functions but will also in the improvement of fiber quality.

The ability of chiral media to differentiate circularly polarized light is conventionally characterized by circular dichroism (CD) which is based on the difference in the absorption of the incident light for different polarizations. Thus, CD probes the bulk properties of chiral media. Here, we introduce a new approach termed as circular phase-dichroism that is based on the surface properties and is defined as the difference of the reflection phase for different circularly polarized incident lights in characterizing chiral media. As a demonstration, we measure the reflection phase from planar chiral sawtooth metasurface for circularly polarized light in the visible range using a simple Fabry Perot interference technique. The measured circular phase-dichroism is also crosschecked by conventional CD measurement of the transmitted light and by full-wave simulations. Our results demonstrate the potential applications of circular phase-dichroism in sensing and metasurface characterizations.

Salinity is a major abiotic stress factor that seriously affects plant growth. Many genes are involved in the response to salt stress with various metabolism pathways. A number of plant transcription factor family genes have been found to be involved in the salt stress response, and NAM, ATAF and CUC (NAC) transcription factors are thought to act as active regulators during abiotic stress, especially salt stress. In this study, we detected a rice NAC transcription factor coding gene, OsNAC041, and confirmed that it influenced the germination of seeds under salt stress and salt tolerance of plants. OsNAC041 was primarily expressed in the leaves and located in the nucleus. Furthermore, the CRISPR/Cas9 method was used to obtain a targeted osnac041 mutant, of which the plant height was higher than that of the wild-type, showing increased salt sensitivity. Moreover, RNA-seq analysis revealed a number of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) involved in several important signaling pathways in the osnac041 mutant. Subsequently, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes annotation also revealed differential expression of DEGs associated with mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling, peroxisome, eukaryotic- type ABC transporters, photosynthesis and plant hormones, which are involved in stress-related signaling pathways. Overall, our study suggested that OsNAC041 was involved in the salt stress response in rice. These findings not only provide empirical evidence of OsNAC041 function, but also provide new insight into its potential application in rice resistance breeding. Aiming at the no stationary characteristic of a gear fault vibration signal, it proposes a recognition method based on ELCD（Ensemble local Characteristic-scale decomposition） permutation entropy and RVM. First, the vibration signal was decomposed by ELCD, then a series of intrinsic scale components were obtained; Secondly, according to the kurtosis of ISCs, principal ISCs were selected, then, calculate the permutation entropy of principal ISCs and combined into a feature vector; Finally, the feature vector were input RVM classifier to train and test to identify the type of rolling bearing faults. Experimental results show that this method can effectively diagnosis four kinds of working condition, and the effect is better than local Characteristic-scale decomposition method.
