The incidence of urothelial carcinoma continues to rise annually, particularly among the elderly. Prompt diagnosis and treatment can significantly enhance patient survival and quality of life. Urine cytology remains a widely-used early screening method for urothelial carcinoma, but it still has limitations including sensitivity, labor-intensive procedures, and elevated cost. In recent developments, microfluidic chip technology offers an effective and efficient approach for clinical urine specimen analysis. Digital holographic microscopy, a form of quantitative phase imaging technology, captures extensive data on the refractive index and thickness of cells. The combination of microfluidic chips and digital holographic microscopy facilitates high-throughput imaging of live cells without staining. In this study, digital holographic flow cytometry was employed to rapidly capture images of diverse cell types present in urine and to reconstruct high-precision quantitative phase images for each cell type. Then, various machine learning algorithms and deep learning models were applied to categorize these cell images, and remarkable accuracy in cancer cell identification was achieved. This research suggests that the integration of digital holographic flow cytometry with artificial intelligence algorithms offers a promising, precise, and convenient approach for early screening of urothelial carcinoma. The stable crystalline phase of ethane at atmospheric pressure can only exist at extremely low temperatures, but the pressure-induced phase transition of ethane at these low temperatures has received little attention from researchers. Based on the calculations of Raman vibrational modes and 2D fingerprints of P21/n-C2H6 under different pressures, we found that ethane at 0 K exhibits an isostructural phase transition under 3 GPa. The extremely low temperature (0 K) suppresses the appearance of room temperature crystalline plastic phase A but promotes the higher-pressure phase B at the lower pressure point. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is more prevalent in women than men, supposing due to the decline of estrogens in menopause, accompanied by increased gonadotropins such as luteinizing hormone (LH). We and others found that the transcription factor early growth response-1 (EGR1) regulates cholinergic function including the expression of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and plays a significant role in cognitive decline of AD. Here we investigated in APP/PS1 mice by ovariectomy (OVX) and estradiol (E2) supplementation or inhibition of LH the effect on hippocampus-related cognition and related molecular changes. We found that OVX-associated cognitive impairment was accompanied by increased dorsal hippocampal EGR1 expression, which was rescued by downregulating peripheral LH rather than by supplementing E2. We also found in postmortem AD brains a higher expression of pituitary LH-mRNA and higher EGR1 expression in the posterior hippocampus. Both, in human and mice, there was a significant positive correlation between respectively posterior/dorsal hippocampal EGR1 and peripheral LH expression. Background: Intraoperative hypoxemia and postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) often occur in patients with one-lung ventilation (OLV), due to both pulmonary shunt and atelectasis. It has been demonstrated that individualized positive end-expiratory pressure (iPEEP) can effectively improve intraoperative oxygenation, increase lung compliance, and reduce driving pressure, thereby decreasing the risk of developing PPCs. However, its effect during OLV is still unknown. Therefore, we aim to investigate whether iPEEP ventilation during OLV is superior to 5 cmH2O PEEP in terms of intraoperative oxygenation and the occurrence of PPCs. Methods: This study is a prospective, randomized controlled, single-blind, single-center trial. A total of 112 patients undergoing thoracoscopic pneumonectomy surgery and OLV will be enrolled in the study. They will be randomized into two groups: the static lung compliance guided iPEEP titration group (Cst-iPEEP Group) and the constant 5 cmH2O PEEP group (PEEP 5 Group). The primary outcome will be the oxygenation index at 30 min after OLV and titration. Secondary outcomes are oxygenation index at other operative time points, PPCs, postoperative adverse events, ventilator parameters, vital signs, pH value, inflammatory factors, and economic indicators. Discussion: This trial explores the effect of iPEEP on intraoperative oxygenation during OLV and PPCs. It provides some clinical references for optimizing the lung protective ventilation strategy of OLV, improving patient prognosis, and accelerating postoperative rehabilitation. Flowering time (FT) is a key maize domestication trait, variation in which allows maize to grow in a wide range of latitudes. Although previous studies have investigated the genetic control of FT-related traits per se, few studies of FT hybrid performance have been published. We characterized the genomic architecture associated with hybrid performance for FT in a hybrid panel by testcrossing Chang 7-2 with 328 Ye478 × Qi319 recombinant inbred lines (RILs). We identified 11 quantitative trait loci (QTL) for hybrid performance in FT-related traits, including a major QTL qFH10 that controls hybrid performance and heterosis in a summer maize-growing region. However, this locus acts in regulating FT traits per se only in a spring maize-growing region. We validated ZmCCT10 as a candidate gene for qFH10 and found that differences between hybrids and their parental lines in DNA methylation in the differentially methylated region (DMR, -700 to -1520) of the ZmCCT10 promoter affected gene expression pattern and thereby FT in the summer maize-growing region. Background: Glutamatergic dysfunction has been implicated in sensory integration deficits in schizophrenia, yet how glutamatergic function contributes to behavioural impairments and neural activities of sensory integration remains unknown. Methods: Fifty schizophrenia patients and 43 healthy controls completed behavioural assessments for sensory integration and underwent magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) for measuring the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) glutamate levels. The correlation between glutamate levels and behavioural sensory integration deficits was examined in each group. A subsample of 20 pairs of patients and controls further completed an audiovisual sensory integration functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) task. Blood Oxygenation Level Dependent (BOLD) activation and task-dependent functional connectivity (FC) were assessed based on fMRI data. Full factorial analyses were performed to examine the Group-by-Glutamate Level interaction effects on fMRI measurements (group differences in correlation between glutamate levels and fMRI measurements) and the correlation between glutamate levels and fMRI measurements within each group. Results: We found that schizophrenia patients exhibited impaired sensory integration which was positively correlated with ACC glutamate levels. Multimodal analyses showed significantly Group-by-Glutamate Level interaction effects on BOLD activation as well as task-dependent FC in a 'cortico-subcortical-cortical' network (including medial frontal gyrus, precuneus, ACC, middle cingulate gyrus, thalamus and caudate) with positive correlations in patients and negative in controls. Conclusions: Our findings indicate that ACC glutamate influences neural activities in a large-scale network during sensory integration, but the effects have opposite directionality between schizophrenia patients and healthy people. The superb firefighting garment is the critical guarantee to protect firefighters from burn harm. Despite intensive effort has been devoted to the inflammability of firefighting suit prepared with the novel PCM, its comfort satisfaction is rarely studied. Thus, the thermal and wet comfortability of PCM-firefighting suit and its common counterpart were contrastively analyzed to clarify the effects of PCM on the wear comfort. Results of correlation analysis and partial correlation analysis through SPSS showed that PCM-firefighting suit was more suitable for the harsh environment of high temperature and humidity due to the improved overall performance than its common counterpart. Notch has been implicated in human cancers and is a putative therapeutic target. However, the regulation of Notch activation in the nucleus remains largely uncharacterized. Therefore, characterizing the detailed mechanisms governing Notch degradation will identify attractive strategies for treating Notch-activated cancers. Here, we report that the long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) BREA2 drives breast cancer metastasis by stabilizing the Notch1 intracellular domain (NICD1). Moreover, we reveal WW domain containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 2 (WWP2) as an E3 ligase for NICD1 at K1821 and a suppressor of breast cancer metastasis. Mechanistically, BREA2 impairs WWP2-- NICD1 complex formation and in turn stabilizes NICD1, leading to Notch signaling activation and lung metastasis. BREA2 loss sensitizes breast cancer cells to inhibition of Notch signaling and suppresses the growth of breast cancer patient-derived xenograft tumors, highlighting its therapeutic potential in breast cancer. Stimulator of interferon genes (STING) plays important roles in innate immunology. In this study, we isolated the STING gene in Nile tilapia, termed OnSTING. Using quantitative RT–PCR, we explored the expression patterns of the OnSTING gene. Using dual-luciferase reporter assays, we revealed the effect of STING overexpression on nuclear factor κB (NF-κB), IFN and AP activation in HEK 293 cells. Using coimmunoprecipitation, the interaction of STING and TRIF was studied. The effect of OnSTING overexpression on the antibacterial activity in tilapia was investigated. The results showed that upon stimulation with Streptococcus agalactiae , the OnSTING transcript was upregulated in all the tested tissues. OnSTING mRNA levels were very stable from 2.5 to 8.5 dpf. Moreover, OnSTING, OnIFN and IRF3 expression was induced by LPS, Poly (I:C), S. agalactiae WC1535 and DCPS in Nile tilapia macrophages. Overexpression of OnSTING and OnDDX41 increased NF-κB activation in HEK293T cells and slightly increased IFN-β activation but had no effect on AP-1 activation. OnSTING interacted with OnDDX41 and OnTBK1. However, OnSTING did not interact with TRIF. OnSTING overexpression in vivo decreased the sensitivity of tilapia to S. agalactiae infection. piRNA and PIWI proteins have been confirmed for disease diagnosis and treatment as novel biomarkers due to its abnormal expression in various cancers. However, the current research is not strong enough to further clarify the functions of piRNA in cancer and its underlying mechanism. Therefore, how to provide large-scale and serious piRNA candidates for biological research has grown up to be a pressing issue. In this study, a novel computational model based on the structural perturbation method is proposed to predict potential disease-associated piRNAs, called SPRDA. Notably, SPRDA belongs to positive-unlabeled learning, which is unaffected by negative examples in contrast to previous approaches. In the 5-fold cross-validation, SPRDA shows high performance on the benchmark dataset piRDisease, with an AUC of 0.9529. Furthermore, the predictive performance of SPRDA for 10 diseases shows the robustness of the proposed method. PIWI proteins and Piwi-Interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are commonly detected in human cancers, especially in germline and somatic tissues, and correlate with poorer clinical outcomes, suggesting that they play a functional role in cancer. As the problem of combinatorial explosions between ncRNA and disease exposes gradually, new bioinformatics methods for large-scale identification and prioritization of potential associations are therefore of interest. However, in the real world, the network of interactions between molecules is enormously intricate and noisy, which poses a problem for efficient graph mining. Line graphs can extend many heterogeneous networks to replace dichotomous networks. In this study, we present a new graph neural network framework, line graph attention networks (LGAT). And we apply it to predict PiRNA disease association (GAPDA). In the experiment, GAPDA performs excellently in 5-fold cross-validation with an AUC of 0.9038. Not only that, it still has superior performance compared with methods based on collaborative filtering and attribute features. The KI/TBHP (tert‐butyl hydroperoxide) promoted [3+2] annulation between dibenzo[b,f][1,4]oxazepine‐imines (DBO‐Imines) and N‐tosylhydrazones under mild conditions has been developed, affording a direct and high atom‐economical preparation for tetracyclic 1,2,4‐triazoline‐fused dibenzo[b,f][1,4]oxazepines (DBOs) in good to excellent yields. This procedure could tolerate a wide range of functional groups and could also be conveniently conducted on a gram‐scale reaction, even in a one‐pot fashion. In this study, the thermo-physiological wear comfort is mainly characterized by the thermal and water vapor resistance performance of the woven fabrics used as sportswear for outdoor activities. The commonly used twill woven fabric with different thicknesses, weight, and density are selected for the experimental analysis, and it finds that fabric weight and thickness have crucial effects on the thermal resistance, and the water vapor resistance depends linearly on density and thickness. Background: Schizotypy refers to schizophrenia-like traits below the clinical threshold in the general population. The pathological development of schizophrenia has been postulated to evolve from the initial coexistence of 'brain disconnection' and 'brain connectivity compensation' to 'brain connectivity decompensation'. Methods: In this study, we examined the brain connectivity changes associated with schizotypy by combining brain white matter structural connectivity, static and dynamic functional connectivity analysis of diffusion tensor imaging data and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data. A total of 87 participants with a high level of schizotypal traits and 122 control participants completed the experiment. Group differences in whole-brain white matter structural connectivity probability, static mean functional connectivity strength, dynamic functional connectivity variability and stability among 264 brain sub-regions of interests were investigated. Results: We found that individuals with high schizotypy exhibited increased structural connectivity probability within the task control network and within the default mode network; increased variability and decreased stability of functional connectivity within the default mode network and between the auditory network and the subcortical network; and decreased static mean functional connectivity strength mainly associated with the sensorimotor network, the default mode network and the task control network. Conclusions: These findings highlight the specific changes in brain connectivity associated with schizotypy and indicate that both decompensatory and compensatory changes in structural connectivity within the default mode network and the task control network in the context of whole-brain functional disconnection may be an important neurobiological correlate in individuals with high schizotypy. Recent studies suggest that altered gamma‐aminobutyric acidergic (GABAergic) function may result in multisensory integration deficits in schizophrenia. However, it is unclear whether the GABA level is abnormal in individuals with high levels of schizotypal traits and how it would correlate with sensory integration ability in these individuals. This study aimed to compare the GABA level between individuals with high and low levels of negative schizotypy, and examine the relationship between GABA levels and sensory integration ability in each group. In vivo GABA+ and N‐acetylaspartate (NAA) levels in the striatum were measured using proton magnetic resonance imaging in 19 participants with high levels of negative schizotypy and 21 participants with low levels of negative schizotypy. The Sensory Integration subscale of the abridged version of the Cambridge Neurological Inventory was used. We examined the group differences in GABA+/NAA levels, and the correlation between striatal GABA+/NAA levels and sensory integration ability in each group. The two groups showed comparable levels of in‐vivo GABA+/NAA. In‐vivo GABA+/NAA levels were negatively correlated with sensory integration score in participants with low levels of negative schizotypy, but not in participants with high levels of negative schizotypy. Our findings indicate that the increased GABA level is correlated with better sensory integration ability in individuals with low levels of negative schizotypy, implicating the role of GABAergic function in multisensory integration. Adult newborn neurons are involved in memory encoding and extinction, but the neural mechanism is unclear. We found the adult newborn neurons at 4 weeks are recruited by learning and subjected to epigenetic regulations, consequently reducing their ability to be re‐recruited later. After removal of the epigenetic blockage, Suv39h1 KO mice showed an increased recruiting number of aged newborn neurons and enhanced flexibility in learning tasks. Besides NRXN1, we found SHANK1, the synaptic scaffold protein, is one of the major targets of Suv39h1, regulating memory stability. Expression of Shank1 is transiently engaged to enhance synaptogenesis during learning and is strongly suppressed by Suv39h1 from 5 h after learning. Exogenously overexpression of Shank1 in dentate gyrus increased the density of mushroom spines and decreased the persistency of old memories. Our study indicated the activity‐regulated epigenetic modification in newly matured newborn neurons in hippocampus insulates temporally distinct experiences and stabilizes old memories. Nitrogen-doped TiO2 nanocrystals (N-TiO2 NCs) were simply synthesized and then functionalized with streptavidin for highly sensitive electrochemical immunoassay of tumor marker. Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, static water contact angle, and cyclic voltametric measurement were adapted to examine the properties of N-TiO2 NCs and resultant immunosensor. The functionalized N-TiO2 NCs sensing platform shows high electrochemical conductivity, large surface area and excellent hydrophilicity. The features make them to produce high current response, capture more antibody molecules, and maintain the bioactivity of immobilized antibodies. By means of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) as model tumor marker, a wide linear range of 0.005-3 ng/mL and a low detection limit of 0.005 ng/mL (signal-to-noise ratio of 3) were achieved by the proposed CEA immunosensor. Progress has been made in chemotherapy drugs, but drug resistance remains a major challenge in cancer treatment. In clinical practice, although there are existing technologies to assess chemotherapy resistance, there is still a lack of rapid and convenient method to monitor different degrees of drug resistance in cancer cells. Furthermore, the cell morphological changes during the progression of drug resistance remain to be fully understood. In this study, we employed a flow imaging platform based on digital holography (DH) and machine learning to classify cancer cells with different degrees of paclitaxel sensitivity. We extracted 112 morphological features from four datasets of single-cell quantitative phase images of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) cells and performed classification training using five supervised machine learning algorithms. Both support vector machine (SVM) and neural network (NN) achieved over 90% classification accuracy. To understand the morphological features associated with drug resistance properties of cancer cells, we applied the SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP), a model interpretation framework, to quantify and rank the feature contributions for both classification models. • The electronic bands under lattice deformation, GGA + U, and SOC have semimetallic properties. • It has extremely high Curie temperature. • The Curie temperature under lattice deformation is still much higher than room temperature. We utilize density functional theory (DFT) to conduct a comprehensive theoretical investigation of the quaternary RhMnCrZ (Z = Si, Ge) Heusler alloys. Our study focuse on analyzing the stability, electronic structure, magnetism, exchange interaction, and Curie temperature of these alloys. The stability of the alloys is verified by calculating and analyzing the formation energy, phonon spectrum, elastic constants, and melting temperature. The calculation results show that the alloys are natural half-metallic ferromagnets with lattice constants of 5.868 Å for RhMnCrSi and 5.980 Å for RhMnCrGe. Meanwhile, the effects of compression and expansion stress on the half-metallic property are simulated from a practical perspective. The magnetic calculation of the alloys shows an integer magnetic moment and adheres to the Slater-Pauling rule, which states that M t = Z t - 24. Based on crystal field theory, orbital hybridization theory, exchange interaction, etc., the coupling effect of electrons and the principle of integer magnetic moments are analyzed. The Heisenberg model is used to calculate the exchange interactions between all atoms. Various exchange interactions between atoms are analyzed, and it is concluded that the dominant mechanism is the ferrimagnetic ordered phase. What's more, we calculate the Curie temperature of the RhMnCrZ (Z = Si, Ge) alloys, taking into account the exchange interactions. The Curie temperatures of both Heusler alloys are above 900 K, which is significantly higher than room temperature. Decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) is widely used because of its ability to effectively analyze nonlinear relationships between factors in complex systems. With the increasing complexity of decision-making problems, large-scale group decision-making (LSGDM) has become the norm. Most existing DEMATEL methods are only suitable for small-scale groups and simple systems. This study, therefore, proposes a large-scale group hierarchical DEMATEL method that considers consensus reaching. The DEMATEL method for LSGDM faces three challenges: large differences in knowledge structures, difficulty coordinating expert opinions, and slow group-consensus convergence. To address these challenges, first, we use hierarchical decomposition to decompose the complex system into simple systems with different levels to reduce the difficulty of decision-making in complex systems. Second, considering the limitations of expert knowledge and experience, we use the basic probability assignment function to extract the opinions of experts at different levels of subsystems and factors. Third, we divide experts into different clusters using K-means clustering to solve the problem of difficult expert-opinion coordination. Fourth, we design two types of consensuses (intrasubgroup and intersubgroup consensus) and an efficient new type of opinion autocorrection mechanism to solve the problem of the slow convergence of intragroup consensus and improve the efficiency of consensus reaching. Pumped storage is an important green, low-carbon, and clean flexible regulating power source in the power system, which can provide regulation services for the power system, promote the construction of a new type of power system, and facilitate the green transformation of energy. To improve the efficiency and stability of the centrifugal pump turbine under multiple operating conditions, a surrogate model combining radial basis functions with a high-dimensional model is used for performance optimization. Taking the active guide vane of the centrifugal pump turbine as the research object, the airfoil profile is parameterized, and the surrogate model's independent variables and training range are determined. Combining programming and numerical simulation software, an efficiency prediction model for the centrifugal pump and water turbine based on guide vane airfoil control variables is constructed. The particle swarm algorithm is used to globally optimize the constructed model to obtain the optimal efficiency point and corresponding airfoil-related parameters. Finally, numerical simulation and experimental research methods are used to validate the predicted data. The results show that under the premise of ensuring grid performance and operational stability, the numerical simulation efficiency of the pump turbine under the optimization scheme is increased by 1.6 and 0.32%, respectively, compared to the numerical efficiency of the prototype guide vane. BACKGROUND: A national standardized emergency medicine (EM) curriculum for medical students, including specific competencies in procedural skills, are absent in many countries. The development of an intensive simulating training program in EM, based on a tight schedule, is anticipated to enhance the competency of medical students. METHODS: A 3-day intensive EM training program, consisting of four procedural skills and 8-hour case-based learning (CBL), was developed by experienced physicians from the EM department in Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH). Medical students from Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) and Tsinghua University (THU) participated in the training. Three written tests were cautiously designed to examine the short-term (immediately after the program) and long-term (6 months after the program) efficacy of the training. After completion of the training program, an online personal appraisal questionnaire was distributed to the students on WeChat (a mobile messaging App commonly used in China) to achieve anonymous self-evaluation. RESULTS: Ninety-seven out of 101 students completed the intensive training and took all required tests. There was a significant increase in the average score after the intensive simulating training program (pre-training 13.84 vs. 15.57 post-training, P<0.001). Compared with the pre-training test, 63 (64.9%) students made progress. There was no significant difference in scores between the tests taken immediately after the program and 6 months later (15.57±2.22 vs. 15.38±2.37, P=0.157). Students rated a higher score in all diseases and procedural skills, and felt that their learning was fruitful. CONCLUSIONS: The introduction of a standardized intensive training program in EM focusing on key competencies can improve clinical confidence, knowledge, and skills of medical students toward the specialty. This work studies the exhaustive rovibrational state-specific collision-induced dissociation properties of the N2+N system by QCT (quasi-classical trajectory) combined with a neural network method based on the ab initio PES recently published by Varga et al. [Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 23, 26273 (2021)]. The QCT combined with a neural network for state-specific dissociation (QCT–NN–SSD) model is developed and used to predict the dissociation cross sections and their energy dependence on the thermal range from a sparsely sampled noisy dataset. It is conservatively estimated that using this method can reduce the cost of the calculation by 96.5%. The rate coefficient of thermal non-equilibrium between different energy modes is obtained by combining the QCT–NN–SSD model with the multi-temperature model. The results show that, for the equilibrium state, dissociation mainly occurs at high vibrational and moderately low rotational levels. When the system is in non-equilibrium, there is no obvious vibrational level preference and highly rotationally excited molecules play a major role in promoting the dissociation by compensating for the lack of vibrational energy. The use of neural network training to generate complete datasets based on limited and discrete data provides an economical and reliable way to obtain a complete kinetic database needed to accurately simulate non-equilibrium flows. Although thoracoscopy has characteristics such as a small surgical incision and low stress response, post-surgical pain after a thoracoscopic operation is no less than that after a thoracotomy. Moreover, poor post-surgical pain management is likely to cause an increased incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) and chronic post-surgical pain. The serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) is a regional anesthesia method whereby local anesthetics (LAs) are injected into the serratus anterior space to block the lateral cutaneous branch of the intercostal nerve, long thoracic nerve, and dorsal thoracic nerve. The block range of the SAPB covers the incisions of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) and the site of the chest tube, which are often located in the antero-lateral chest wall. Therefore, the SAPB can achieve effective analgesia in VATS. For example, 0.125% to 0.25% levobupivacaine (20–25 ml) is widely used for thoracic surgery, which can achieve effective analgesia and avoid adverse reactions. Moreover, it has advantages compared with thoracic segmental epidural block (TEA) and thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB), such as simple operation, increased safety, fewer complications, and hemodynamic stability. In addition, adequate analgesia is helpful for pulmonary function recovery and reduces the incidence of PPCs. This article introduces the anatomical mechanism of the SAPB, diverse operation approaches, how to choose drugs and adjuvants, and the resulting impacted area range. It summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the SAPB compared with other analgesic methods and posits that the SAPB is beneficial to the recovery of postoperative lung function, which provides more options for postoperative analgesia after VATS. Background: With cardiovascular diseases standing as a leading cause of mortality worldwide, the interplay between diet-induced inflammation, as quantified by the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII), and heart failure biomarker NT-proBNP has not been investigated in the general population. Methods: This study analyzed data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999–2004, encompassing 10,766 individuals. The relationship between the DII and NT-proBNP levels was evaluated through multivariable-adjusted regression models. To pinpoint crucial dietary components influencing NT-proBNP levels, the LASSO regression model was utilized. Stratified analyses were then conducted to examine the associations within specific subgroups to identify differential effects of the DII on NT-proBNP levels across diverse populations. Results: In individuals without heart failure, a unit increase in the DII was significantly associated with an increase in NT-proBNP levels. Specifically, NT-proBNP levels rose by 9.69 pg/mL (95% CI: 6.47, 12.91; p < 0.001) without adjustments, 8.57 pg/mL (95% CI: 4.97, 12.17; p < 0.001) after adjusting for demographic factors, and 5.54 pg/mL (95% CI: 1.75, 9.32; p = 0.001) with further adjustments for health variables. In participants with a history of heart failure, those in the second and third DII quartile showed a trend towards higher NT-proBNP levels compared to those in the lowest quartile, with increases of 717.06 pg/mL (95% CI: 76.49–1357.63, p = 0.030) and 855.49 pg/mL (95% CI: 156.57–1554.41, p = 0.018). Significant interactions were observed in subgroup analyses by age (<50: β = 3.63, p = 0.141; 50–75: β = 18.4, p<0.001; >75: β = 56.09, p<0.001), gender (men: β = 17.82, p<0.001; women: β = 7.43, p = 0.061),hypertension (β = 25.73, p<0.001) and diabetes (β = 38.94, p<0.001). Conclusion: This study identified a positive correlation between the DII and NT-proBNP levels, suggesting a robust link between pro-inflammatory diets and increased heart failure biomarkers, with implications for dietary modifications in cardiovascular risk management. The operating frequencies of surface plasmons in pristine graphene lie in the terahertz and infrared spectral range, which limits their utilization. Here, the high-frequency plasmons in doped graphene nanostructures are studied by the time-dependent density functional theory. The doping atoms include boron, nitrogen, aluminum, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur atoms. The influences of the position and concentration of nitrogen dopants on the collective stimulation are investigated, and the effects of different types of doping atoms on the plasmonic stimulation are discussed. For different positions of nitrogen dopants, it is found that a higher degree of symmetry destruction is correlated with weaker optical absorption. In contrast, a higher concentration of nitrogen dopants is not correlated with a stronger absorption. Regarding different doping atoms, atoms similar to carbon atom in size, such as boron atom and nitrogen atom, result in less spectral attenuation. In systems with other doping atoms, the absorption is significantly weakened compared with the absorption of the pristine graphene nanostructure. Plasmon energy resonance dots of doped graphene lie in the visible and ultraviolet spectral range. We present sensing time-lapse morphogenesis of living bone cells under micro-fluidic shear stress (FSS) by digital holographic (DH) microscopy. To remove the effect of aberrations on quantitative measurements, we propose a numerical and automatic method to compensate for aberrations based on a convolutional neural network (CNN). For the first time, the aberration compensation issue is considered as a regression task where optimal coefficients for constructing the phase aberration map act as responses corresponding to the input aberrated phase image. We adopted tens of thousands of living cells' phase images reconstructed from digital holograms for training the CNN. The experiments demonstrate that, based on the trained network, phase aberrations can be totally removed in real-time without any hypothesis of object and aberration phase, knowledge of the setup's physical parameters, and the operation of selecting background regions; hence, the morphogenesis of the bone cells under FSS is accurately detected and quantitatively analyzed. The results show that the proposed method could provide a highly efficient and versatile way to investigate the effects of micro-FSS on living biological cells in microfluidic lab-on-chip platforms thanks to the combination of phase-contrast label-free microcopy with artificial intelligence. To prepare and identify ACE-inhibitory peptides originated from sesame seed protein, peptides with strong ACE-inhibitory activities were obtained via the optimization of protease and hydrolysis conditions, and these peptides were purified and identified by membrane separation, gel filtration, and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results showed that the dual-enzyme comprised alcalase and trypsin with the enzyme activity ratio of 3:7 was suitable to produce ACE-inhibitory peptides. The highest ACE-inhibitory activity of 98.10 ± 0.26% was obtained at the following parameters, pH 8.35, E/S ratio of 6,145 U/g, and hydrolysis time of 4.4 hr. ISGAQPSLR and VVISAPSK ranked the first and second ACE-inhibitory activity among 15 identified ACE-inhibitory peptides. Both peptides influenced ACE via binding with the S1 pocket, S2 pocket, and Zn2+ ion. ISGAQPSLR even impacted the S1' pocket. ISGAQPSLR and VVISAPSK acted as a competitive and noncompetitive inhibitor, respectively. ACE-inhibitory peptides derivated from sesame seed protein have potential applications in functional food. Practical applications: Although sesame seed protein is proven as the precursor of ACE-inhibitory peptide, preparing ACE-inhibitory peptide from sesame seed protein is still suffering from insufficient information on hydrolysis condition and the peptide sequence. Therefore, the performance of the typical protease on preparing ACE-inhibitory peptide from sesame seed protein has been evaluated, the effect of the amino acid composition of sesame seed protein and cleavage specificity of protease on the generation of ACE-inhibitory peptide has been investigated, hydrolysis conditions have been optimized, the peptide sequence has been identified to illuminate the effect of sesame seed protein fraction on the formation of ACE-inhibitory peptide and discuss the structural characteristics. BACKGROUND: The use of corticosteroids in septic shock has been studied for many decades but yielded conflicting results. We conducted a systematic review to evaluate the efficacy and the safety of corticosteroids in immunocompetent patients with septic shock. METHODS: Medline via PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) in the Cochrane Library, and EMBASE were searched from inception to March 2020. Two reviewers independently identified randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing corticosteroids with a control group for immunocompetent patients with septic shock. Data were abstracted and reported following the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Review of Intervention and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. The efficacy outcome included mortality and shock reversal. The safety outcomes were infection, gastrointestinal bleeding, and hyperglycemia. RESULTS: Nine RCTs with a total of 1,298 patients were included. Compared with the control group, corticosteroid group did not lower the short-term (28 or 30 days) mortality (risk ratio [RR] 0.95, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.85 to 1.06, inconsistency [I2]=0%, trial sequential analysis [TSA]-adjusted CI 0.83 to 1.09, moderate-certainty evidence). Corticosteroids significantly shortened the time to shock reversal compared with the control group (mean difference [MD] -21.56 hours; 95% CI -32.95 to -10.16, I2=0%; TSA-adjusted CI -33.33 to -9.78, moderate-certainty evidence). The corticosteroid treatment was associated with an increased risk of hyperglycemia but not the infection or gastrointestinal bleeding. CONCLUSIONS: The corticosteroid treatment is not associated with lower short- or longterm mortality compared with placebo in immunocompetent patients with septic shock. However, corticosteroids significantly shorten the time to shock reversal without increasing the risk of infection. Using Chinese characters, we investigated how stroke count and frequency of use influence attention and short-term memory (STM) encoding in Mainland Chinese speakers. To isolate specific components of attention we employed the Theory of Visual Attention (TVA), which allowed estimates of STM capacity, processing speed, and the threshold of visual perception. An analysis of TVA parameters revealed that familiarity affects both the memory capacity and processing speed of objects, whereas the threshold for visual perception remained unaffected. Interestingly, our results also indicate that modulation of attention is driven solely by familiarity with the characters, independent of the actual physical aspect of Chinese characters. We propose that mental categories and prior knowledge play a vital role in the processing of information in attention, as well as in how this information is stored and represented in visual STM. To assess the value of parameters of myocardial work for dynamic monitoring of myocardial injury after neonatal asphyxia. Fifty-three neonates with asphyxia admitted within 24 h after delivery were divided into a mild asphyxia group (n = 40) and severe asphyxia group (n = 13). Echocardiography was performed within 24 h post-birth, within 72 h post-birth (48 h after first echo), and during recovery. The left ventricular ejection fraction on M-mode echocardiography and by Simpson’s biplane method (LVEF and Bi-EF, respectively), stroke volume (SV), cardiac output (CO), cardiac index (CI), global longitudinal strain (GLS), global work index (GWI), global constructive work (GCW), and other parameters were measured. Echocardiographic indicators were compared between groups and over time. GWI was significantly increased at 72 h in the mild asphyxia group (P < 0.05) but showed no significant change over time in the severe asphyxia group (P > 0.05). While GCW increased significantly over time in both groups (P < 0.05), it increased earlier in the mild asphyxia group. Time and grouping factors had independent effects on GWI and GCW (P > 0.05). The characteristics of differences in GWI and GCW between the two groups were different from those for LVEF, Bi-EF, SV, CO, CI, and GLS and their change characteristics with improvement from treatment. GWI and GCW changed significantly during recovery from neonatal asphyxia, and their change characteristics differed between mild and severe asphyxia cases. Myocardial work parameters can be used as valuable supplements to traditional indicators of left ventricular function to dynamically monitor the recovery from myocardial injury after neonatal asphyxia. Liquid chromatography-tandem with high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC HRMS) has proven challenging for annotating multiple small molecules within complex matrices due to the complexities of chemical structure and raw LC HRMS data, as well as limitations in previous literatures and reference spectra related to those molecules. In this study, we developed a molecular networking assisted automatic database screening (MN/auto-DBS) strategy to examine the combined effect of MS1 exact mass screening and MS2 similarity analysis. We compiled all previously reported compounds from the relevant literatures. With the development of a Python software, the in-house database (DB) was created by automatically calculating the m/z and data from experimental MS1 hits were rapid screened with DB. We then performed a feature-based molecular network analysis on the auto-MS2 data for supplementary identification of unreported compounds, including clustered FBMN and annotated GNPS compounds. Finally, the results from both strategies were merged and manually curated for correct structural assignment. To demonstrate the applicability of MN/auto-DBS, we selected the Huangqi-Danshen herb pair (HD), commonly used in prescriptions or patent medicines to treat diabetic nephropathy and cerebrovascular disease. A total of 223 compounds were annotated, including 65 molecules not previously reported in HD, such as aromatic polyketides, coumarins, and diarylheptanoids. To investigate the optical properties of the ternary nanostructures, the nanodisk, core–shell, and three-sphere structures are constructed. The extinction coefficients and electric near-field distributions of these structures are calculated by the discrete dipole approximation (DDA) method. The result shows that the nanodisk structure has the best extinction efficiency in the three structures. Furthermore, several three-material combinations of the nanodisk structures are investigated. The ternary nanodisk structure composed of TiO2 and two noble metals (Au, Ag or Pt) has higher extinction coefficient and near-field intensity than the nanodisk consisting of Au, TiO2 and a semiconductor (PbSe, Ge, MoS2, CdSe, CdS or TiO2). Especially, TiO2/Ag/Pt has the best extinction efficiency and the max electric near-field intensity. And the extinction spectra of TiO2/Ag/Pt and TiO2/Ag/Au structures are complementary in the visible range. Aim: Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is hepatotoxic. Numerous studies have shown that mitochondria play an essential role in AFB1-induced steatosis. However, the mechanisms of AFB1-induced steatosis via mitochondria are still obscure. The present study aimed to confirm that AFB1 causes hepatocyte steatosis regulated by cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)-induced mitophagy, both in vivo and in vitro. Methods: Adult male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into control group with the same volume of peanut oil and exposure group administered 0.6 mg/kg AFB1 once in 2 days for 1 month. HepG2 and Cas9-PTGS2 cells were treated with 5 μM AFB1 for 48 hours. Then, various indicators were evaluated. Results: Aflatoxin B1 causes liver injury and steatosis with increased alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, total cholesterol, total triglyceride levels in vivo and in vitro, and elevated lipid droplets in HepG2 cells. Cyclooxygenase-2 and mitophagy pathway were induced by AFB1 in both liver tissues and cultured HepG2 cells. Further studies have shown that knockout of COX-2 with the CRISPR/Cas9 system inhibited the AFB1-induced mitophagy and steatosis in HepG2 cells. Also, the inhibition of PTEN-induced putative kinase with RNA interference attenuated the AFB1-induced steatosis. Conclusions: The results of the current study suggested that AFB1 increases the expression of COX-2, which, in turn, elevates the level of mitophagy, thereby disrupting the normal mitochondrial lipid metabolism and causing steatosis. Using molecular dynamics simulations combined with the embedded atom method potential, we investigate the heating, cooling, and energetic reacting of core-shell structured Al-Cu nanoparticles. The thermodynamic properties and structure evolution during continuous heating and cooling processes are also investigated through the characterization of the total potential energy distribution, mean-square-distance and radial distribution function. Some behaviors related to nanometer scale Cu/Al functional particles are derived that two-way diffusion of Al and Cu atoms, glass phase formation for the fast cooling rate, and the crystal phase formation for the low cooling rate. Two-way atomic diffusion occurs first and causes the melting and alloying. In the final alloying structure, Cu and Al atoms mixed very well except for the outmost shell which has more Al atoms. For the investigation of the thermal stability and energetic reaction properties, our study show that a localized alloying reaction between the Al core and Cu shell is very slow when the initial temperature is lower than 600 K. But a two-stage reaction may occur when the initial temperature is 700 K. The reaction rate is determined by the solid-state diffusion of Al atoms in the Cu shell at the first stage, yet the reaction rate is much faster at the second stage, due to the alloying reaction between the liquid Al core and the Cu shell. Oxy-s-triazine (OST) is one of the important Hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX) decomposition products, while it is yet not fully clear how it is formed up to now. The study systematically investigates the reaction of s-triazine (TAZ) with nitrate radical (NO3) using computational chemistry methods, for which three entrance channels are devised, resulting in the formation of four isomers of OST. Based on the analysis of the barrier heights and the reaction exothermicities, the pathway to form OST3 through hydrogen atom abstraction and rebound mechanism is likely to be the main channel in the reactions of TAZ with NO3 radical. Machine learning has increasingly been applied to classification of schizophrenia in neuroimaging research. However, direct replication studies and studies seeking to investigate generalizability are scarce. To address these issues, we assessed within‐site and between‐site generalizability of a machine learning classification framework which achieved excellent performance in a previous study using two independent resting‐state functional magnetic resonance imaging data sets collected from different sites and scanners. We established within‐site generalizability of the classification framework in the main data set using cross‐validation. Then, we trained a model in the main data set and investigated between‐site generalization in the validated data set using external validation. Finally, recognizing the poor between‐site generalization performance, we updated the unsupervised algorithm to investigate if transfer learning using additional unlabeled data were able to improve between‐site classification performance. Cross‐validation showed that the published classification procedure achieved an accuracy of 0.73 using majority voting across all selected components. External validation found a classification accuracy of 0.55 (not significant) and 0.70 (significant) using the direct and transfer learning procedures, respectively. The failure of direct generalization from one site to another demonstrates the limitation of within‐site cross‐validation and points toward the need to incorporate efforts to facilitate application of machine learning across multiple data sets. The improvement in performance with transfer learning highlights the importance of taking into account the properties of data when constructing predictive models across samples and sites. In this paper, a 3D nanoporous carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membrane is proposed to investigate the diffusion and separation properties of ethylene/methane and ethylene/acetylene binary mixtures permeating through the structural deformated carbon nanotube (CNT) channels. Combining the results obtained from density functional theory (DFT) calculations and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, we find that the organic gas permeability and selectivity can be effectively ameliorated by fine-tuning the geometric structure of CNTs gas separation channels. By virtue of the intrinsic structural characteristics, this hybrid CMS configuration established elliptical cylinder channels to separate the organic gas molecules with similar molecular size. Compared with channels with a circular cross section, the gas selectivity for channels with an elliptical cross section is larger, and it increases with an increasing pressure. The selectivity of ethylene over acetylene (methane) increased to ~13.8 (5.5) in deformed CNTs channels, which is more than doubled over the original CNT channels. This distinguished hybridization configuration may pave a promising avenue to utilize gas separation materials. Investigating obsessive-compulsive symptoms in subclinical populations provides a useful framework for understanding the early development of obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders. The present study aimed to apply searchlight classification analysis on resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data to identify potential brain markers in subclinical individuals with obsessive-compulsive symptoms. In this observational study, 40 college students with high obsessive-compulsive symptom scores and 40 with low obsessive-compulsive symptom scores were recruited from universities in China. We conducted searchlight classification and comparison analysis between the two groups based on Amplitude of Low Frequency Fluctuation (ALFF), fraction ALFF (fALFF) and resting-state functional connectivity using searchlight classification. We found that the highest accuracy rate in differentiating between the two groups was 85.00%. Significant discriminating features included the ALFF of the left medial superior frontal gyrus and the functional connectivity between the right thalamus and the bilateral medial superior frontal gyrus, and the right putamen, as well as the functional connectivity between the left caudate and the right insula. Previous studies have demonstrated that patients with schizophrenia and individuals with schizotypy experience decreased anticipatory pleasure. However, it is unclear whether this decrease is contributed by altered reward processing at the proximal or distal future. In order to investigate the preference for receiving rewards in the proximal or distal future for individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders, individuals with either high or low levels of negative schizotypy performed a delay discounting task under positive, neutral and negative affective priming conditions. Compared with individuals with low levels of negative schizotypy, individuals with high levels of schizotypy exhibited increased delay discounting, preferring to choose immediate but smaller rewards instead of delayed but larger rewards across all three affective priming conditions. Negative affective priming elevated discounting for both groups compared with both the positive and neutral affective conditions. After dividing delayed temporal distance into the proximal and distal future, the results showed that individuals with high levels of negative schizotypy exhibited more preference for immediate but smaller rewards in the distal instead of proximal future compared with controls. Our results suggest that individuals with high levels of negative schizotypy have altered anticipatory reward processing, which is mainly attributed to alterations in representing rewards in the distal future. These findings extend the alterations in representing reward values from schizophrenia patients to schizotypal individuals, and suggest that diminished anticipatory pleasure in schizophrenia spectrum disorders may be due to changes in processing anticipatory rewards in the distal future. Tacrolimus is a potent immunosuppressant, but has various side effects, with nephrotoxicity being the most common. Renal fibrosis is an important process of tacrolimus nephrotoxicity. Therefore, it is important to identify the factors that contribute to renal fibrosis after tacrolimus nephrotoxicity, and control its development. The present study aims to determine whether tacrolimus may speed up the course of renal fibrosis by upregulating noncoding RNA activated by DNA damage (NORAD) to compete with miR-136-5p, and activating the TGF-β1/Smad3 pathway. Furthermore, in vivo rat models and in vitro cell models were established. Then, the expression levels of NORAD and miR-136-5p were determined by RT-qPCR, while the expression of the TGF-β1/Smad3 pathway was determined by western blot and RT-qPCR. In order to investigate the interaction between NORAD and miR-136-5p, as well as miR-136-5p and SYK, two luciferase reporters were employed. The renal fibrosis of mice was observed using Masson and PAS staining. The expression of inflammatory factors IL-1, IL-6, MCP-1 and TNF-α was detected by ELISA. In the in vitro experiments, NORAD was upregulated, while miR-136-5p was downregulated after tacrolimus induction. The expression of the TGF-β1/Smad3 pathway correspondingly changed after the induction by tacrolimus. In the in vivo experiments, the expression of NORAD and miR-136-5p, and the trend for renal fibrosis were consistent with the results in the in vitro experiments. Furthermore, the inflammatory factors correspondingly changed with the severity of renal fibrosis. Moreover, the expression trend of the TGF-β1/Smad3 pathway in tacrolimus-induced rats was consistent with that in the in vitro experiments. Through in vitro and in vivo experiments, the present study was able to successfully prove that tacrolimus upregulates NORAD to compete with miR-136-5p, resulting in a decrease in miR-136-5p expression, which in turn activates the TGF-β1/smad3 pathway, and finally induces the aggravation of renal fibrosis. Our previous studies showed that the transcription factor early growth response‐1 (EGR1) may play a role in keeping the brain cholinergic function intact in the preclinical stages of Alzheimer's disease (AD). In order to elucidate the mechanisms involved, we first performed data mining on our previous microarray study on postmortem human prefrontal cortex (PFC) for the changes in the expression of EGR1 and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and the relationship between them during the course of AD. The study contained 49 patients, ranging from non‐demented controls (Braak stage 0) to late AD patients (Braak stage VI). We found EGR1‐mRNA was high in early AD and decreased in late AD stages, while AChE‐mRNA was stable in preclinical AD and slightly decreased in late AD stages. A significant positive correlation was found between the mRNA levels of these two molecules. In addition, we studied the relationship between EGR1 and AChE mRNA levels in the frontal cortex of 3–12‐months old triple‐transgenic AD (3xTg‐AD) mice. EGR1‐ and AChE‐mRNA were lower in 3xTg‐AD mice compared with wild‐type (WT) mice. A significant positive correlation between these two molecules was present in the entire group and in each age group of either WT or 3xTg‐AD mice. Subsequently, AChE expression was determined following up‐ or down‐regulating EGR1 in cell lines and the EGR1 levels were found to regulate AChE at both the mRNA and protein levels. Dual‐luciferase assay and electrophoretic mobility shift assay in the EGR1‐overexpressing cells were performed to determine the functionally effective binding sites of the EGR1 on the AChE gene promoter. We conclude that the EGR1 can upregulate AChE expression by a direct effect on its gene promoter, which may contribute significantly to the changes in cholinergic function in the course of AD. The plasmonic of BC3 nanostructure was investigated employing time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). What is striking is that BC3 nanostructure possesses preferable absorbance in the visible region. By changing the size of the nanostructure, the resonance peak position of the absorption spectrum can be effectively regulated. Moreover, when excitation direction along the armchair-edge direction, the absorption spectra are clearly stronger in the low-energy zone respect to the impulse excitation polarizes in the zigzag-edge direction. In addition, with the change of layer spacing and number of layers, the resonance frequency and resonance absorption peak intensity of plasmonic can be effectively controlled. First of all, aiming at the problem that in the traditional hierarchical mining algorithm, only business English parallel corpus item set upper bound is used, which has not ideal effect for the high expectation weight problem, the downward closure characteristics of hierarchy mining algorithm is designed, and the proof procedure is given, this characteristic can effectively reduce the processing quantity of the candidate business English parallel corpus while ensuring the accuracy. Secondly, the two-stage data mining process is constructed, in the first stage, a high expectation weight business English parallel corpus item set is obtained for a set of candidate business English parallel corpus item set based on a hierarchical search method, in the second stage, the database is scanned again to obtain high expectation weight of business English parallel corpus item set, so as to complete the data mining process. Abstract In a linear transformation model, there exists an unknown monotone, typically nonlinear, transformation function such that the transformed response variable is related to the predictor variables via a linear regression model. This paper presents CENet, a new method for estimating the slope vector and simultaneously performing variable selection in the high-dimensional sparse linear transformation model. CENet is the solution to a convex optimization problem which can be computed efficiently from an algorithm with guaranteed convergence to the global optimum. It is shown that when the joint distribution of the predictors and errors is elliptical, under some regularity conditions, CENet attains the same optimal rate of convergence as the best regression method in the high-dimensional sparse linear regression model. The empirical performance of CENet is shown on both simulated and real datasets. The connection of CENet with existing nonlinear regression/multivariate methods is also discussed. Improved water quality reduces diarrhea, but the impact of improved water quality on Ascaris and Trichuris, soil-transmitted helminths (STH) conveyed by the fecal-oral route, is less well described. To assess water quality associations with diarrhea and STH, we conducted a cross-sectional survey in households of south-eastern Guatemala. Diarrhea was self-reported in the past week and month. STH was diagnosed by stool testing using a fecal parasite concentrator method. We explored associations between Escherichia coli-positive source water (water quality) and disease outcomes using survey logistic regression models. Overall, 732 persons lived in 167 households where water was tested. Of these, 79.4% (581/732) had E. coli-positive water, 7.9% (58/732) had diarrhea within the week, 14.1% (103/732) had diarrhea within the month, and 6.6% (36/545) tested positive for Ascaris or Trichuris, including 1% (6/536) who also reported diarrhea. Univariable analysis found a statistically significant association between water quality and STH (odds ratio [OR]= 5.1, 95% confidence interval [CI]= 1.1-24.5) but no association between water quality and diarrhea. Waterborne transmission and effects of water treatment on STH prevalence should be investigated further. Abstract In this article, 3D pillared carbon nanotube (CNT)-porous graphene (PG) nanomesh architectures are computationally investigated as methane storage nanocontainer. The purpose of this article is to screen the configurations of 3D pillared CNT-PG materials and to select the optimal one for maximizing the methane storage capacity. Molecular mechanics (MM) calculations and MD simulations are executed to depict the structural characteristics and methane adsorption properties. The calculated structural parameters coincide well with the empirical conclusions. The methane adsorption simulations are systematic investigated as a function of geometry variables such as PG interlayer spacing, distance of CNTs, and the number of PG sheets in a wide range of pressure. The average adsorption energy of methane in different configurations is concentrated between 2 and 4 kcal mol−1. The results revealed that the applications of 3D CNT-PG models can significantly enhance methane adsorption performance in comparison to pillared graphene: the maximum amount of adsorbed methane of 3D CNT-PG displays 21.3 mmol/gr (interlayer spacing of 1.2 nm and bilayer PG), which is about 25% higher than that of pillared graphene. Meanwhile, the deformation of (6, 6) carbon nanotubes can significantly improve the methane storage capacity. The thermite reaction at Al/CuO nano-interfaces is investigated with ab initio molecular dynamics calculations in canonical ensemble at 500 K, 800 K, 1200 K and 1500 K, respectively. The reaction process and reaction products are analyzed in terms of chemical bonds, average charge, time constants and total potential energy. The activity of the reactants enhances with increasing temperature, which induces a faster thermite reaction. The alloy reaction obviously expands outward at Cu-rich interface of Al/CuO system, and the reaction between Al and O atoms obviously expands outward at O-rich interface as temperature increases. Different reaction products are found at the outermost layer of different interfaces in the Al/CuO system. In generally, the average charge of the outer layer aluminum atoms (i.e., Al1, Al2, Al5 and Al6) increases with temperature. The potential energy of Al/CuO system decreases significantly, which indicates that drastic exothermic reaction occurs at the Al/CuO system. This research enhances fundamental understanding in temperature effect on the thermite reaction at atomic level, which can potentially open new possibilities for its industrial application. The fruiting body pattern is an important agronomic trait of the edible fungus Auricularia auricula-judae, and an important breeding target. There are two types of fruiting body pattern: the cluster type and the chrysanthemum type. We identified the fruiting body pattern of 26 test strains, and then constructed two different near-isogenic pools. Then, we developed sequence characterized amplified region (SCAR) molecular markers associated with the fruiting body pattern based on sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) markers. Ten different bands (189-522 bp) were amplified using 153 pairs of SRAP primers. The SCAR marker "SCL-18" consisted of a single 522-bp band amplified from the cluster-type strains, but not the chrysanthemum strains. This SCAR marker was closely associated with the cluster-type fruiting body trait of A. auricula-judae. These results lay the foundation for further research to locate and clone genes controlling the fruiting body pattern of A. auricula-judae. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
