Electrohydrodynamic pumps, as a representative type of nonmechanical pump, have received significant research attention due to their inherent advantages of having no moving parts and low power consumption. In particular, the planar charge injection pump has exhibited superior fluid driving performance, making it highly promising for applications in microscale flow driving and chip cooling. A sandwich structure pump with multiple pairs of planar interdigitated electrodes is numerically studied in this paper. The interaction of the flow, thermal, and electric fields is analyzed using the lattice Boltzmann method under different pump configurations, governing parameters, and convection mechanisms. The results reveal that the geometric configurations of the planar interdigitated electrodes have direct effects on the pumping performance and heat transfer rate. Specifically, an optimal configuration is achieved when the width of the collector is twice that of the emitter under two-pair electrode simulation conditions. More interestingly, competition between electric and thermal effects is observed, and the optimal threshold for heat transfer is found at an electric Rayleigh number of T = 300 for the considered cases. Finally, the interaction of the electric and thermal fields induces periodic oscillations. The single-vortex mechanism exhibits the longest oscillation period and inhibits heat transfer, while the multi-vortex mechanism has the shortest oscillation period and enhances heat transfer. Background: Phosphorus (P) and salt stress are common abiotic stressors that limit crop growth and development, but the response mechanism of soybean to low phosphorus (LP) and salt (S) combined stress remains unclear. Results: In this study, two soybean germplasms with similar salt tolerance but contrasting P-efficiency, A74 (salt-tolerant and P-efficient) and A6 (salt-tolerant and P-inefficient), were selected as materials. By combining physiochemical and transcriptional analysis, we aimed to elucidate the mechanism by which soybean maintains high P-efficiency under salt stress. In total, 14,075 differentially expressed genes were identified through pairwise comparison. PageMan analysis subsequently revealed several significantly enriched categories in the LP vs. control (CK) or low phosphorus + salt (LPS) vs. S comparative combination when compared to A6, in the case of A74. These categories included genes involved in mitochondrial electron transport, secondary metabolism, stress, misc, transcription factors and transport. Additionally, weighted correlation network analysis identified two modules that were highly correlated with acid phosphatase and antioxidant enzyme activity. Citrate synthase gene (CS), acyl-coenzyme A oxidase4 gene (ACX), cytokinin dehydrogenase 7 gene (CKXs), and two-component response regulator ARR2 gene (ARR2) were identified as the most central hub genes in these two modules. Conclusion: In summary, we have pinpointed the gene categories responsible for the LP response variations between the two salt-tolerant germplasms, which are mainly related to antioxidant, and P uptake process. Objective To explore the mechanism of Yangjing capsule promoting the testosterone synthesis in Leydig Cells. Methods Male BALB/c mice were raised to 18 months old and treated with saline and different doses of Yangjing capsule by gavage for 30 days. The serum level of testosterone was measured by ELISA, the protein expression levels of Beclin-1 and LC3 in testicular tissue of mice were assayed by Western blot, autophagy in Leydig cells of mice was observed by transmission electron microscopy. Results After intragastric administration of Yangjing capsule, the serum testosterone level of old mice increased in a dose-dependent manner,compared with the elderly control group,there were significant differences in serum testosterone levels in mice among the low, medium and high dose of Yangjing capsule groups ( P < 0. 01 ). The Beclin-1 and LC3 II/I levels in the testicular tissue of mice in the low, medium and high dose of Yangjing capsule groups were significantly higher than those in the control group ( P <0. 05 ). The transmission electron microscopy results showed that compared with the control group, the number of autophagosomes in Leydig cells of testicular tissue was significantly increased of the low,medium and high dose of Yangjing capsule groups,especially in the high-dose of Yangjing capsule group. Background. Our previous works revealed Yangjing capsule (YC) could inhibit cell apoptosis and promote testosterone production in Leydig cells. SET protein has been reported to be important in regulating testosterone synthesis and apoptosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the steroidogenic and antiapoptotic effects of YC are mediated in part by the SET/PI3K/Akt pathway in Leydig cells. Methods. MLTC-1 cells were treated with YC-medicated serum. si-RNA was used to knockdown SET expression in MLTC-1 cells. The elderly BALB/c mice were treated with different doses of YC extract. Flow cytometry and TUNEL staining were used to assess apoptosis in MLTC-1 cells and mouse testes. HE staining was conducted to detect the morphological changes in mouse testes. Testosterone levels in cell culture medium and serum were measured by ELISA kit. Quantitative real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and Western blot were used to detect the expression levels of key molecules. Results. YC-medicated serum could significantly increase the expression of SET and StAR, P450scc, HSD17B, and testosterone production in MLTC-1 cells. YC-medicated serum could increase Akt phosphorylation and Bcl-2/Bax ratio to suppress apoptosis in MLTC-1 cells. SET knockdown significantly inhibited YC-medicated serum-induced steroidogenic and antiapoptotic effects in MLTC-1 cells. In vivo experiments revealed the YC extract could enhance SET expression, trigger Akt phosphorylation, and suppress apoptosis in mouse testis to raise serum testosterone levels. Conclusions. Background: Cunninghamia lanceolata (Chinese fir), is one of the most important timber trees in China. With the global warming, to develop new resistant varieties to drought or heat stress has become an essential task for breeders of Chinese fir. However, classification and evaluation of growth status of Chinese fir under drought or heat stress are still labor-intensive and time-consuming. Results: In this study, we proposed a CNN-LSTM-att hybrid model for classification of growth status of Chinese fir seedlings under drought and heat stress, respectively. Two RGB image datasets of Chinese fir seedling under drought and heat stress were generated for the first time, and utilized in this study. By comparing four base CNN models with LSTM, the Resnet50-LSTM was identified as the best model in classification of growth status, and LSTM would dramatically improve the classification performance. Moreover, attention mechanism further enhanced performance of Resnet50-LSTM, which was verified by Grad-CAM. By applying the established Resnet50-LSTM-att model, the accuracy rate and recall rate of classification was up to 96.91% and 96.79% for dataset of heat stress, and 96.05% and 95.88% for dataset of drought, respectively. Accordingly, the R2 value and RMSE value for evaluation on growth status under heat stress were 0.957 and 0.067, respectively. And, the R2 value and RMSE value for evaluation on growth status under drought were 0.944 and 0.076, respectively. Conclusion: In summary, our proposed model provides an important tool for stress phenotyping in Chinese fir, which will be a great help for selection and breeding new resistant varieties in future. As literatures reviewed, the torrefaction properties under different oxidative atmospheres were studied. The present review introduced the mass yield, energy yield, elemental and proximate analyses, calorific value, thermal reaction characteristics, hygroscopic and grinding properties of biomass torrefaction pretreatment in oxidative atmospheres such as carbon dioxide, flue gas, air, a proportion of oxygen, steam, ammonia, vacuum environment and no inlet atmosphere supply environment. The difference between oxidative and nonoxidative torrefaction was compared and analyzed. Scientific problems that still need further study are put forward to provide references for further scientific research and production, and to expand ways for biomass high quality utilization. In current research, a novel coordination polymer based on Cu(II) having a 1D spiro-like chain architecture has been created with the reaction between HL (4-(4-(2-chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)-[2,3′-bipyridin]-6-yl)benzoic acid), the custom designed organic ligand and Cu(NO3)2·3H2O under the reaction conditions of solvothermal, and its chemical formula is [Cu(L)2]·2DMF·3H2O (1). At first, the real-time RT-PCR was accomplished for the determination of the miRNA9 expression level in normal tissue and liver cancer tissue. And the compound's influence on the miRNA9 relative expression in the cancer cells was next investigated as well. The western blotting assay was in-depth employed for the determination of the PDGF signaling pathway expression in the liver cancer cells after treated with the new compound. In the end, we investigate the direct regulation of miRNA9 on signaling pathway of PDGF by luciferase reporter gene analysis and bioinformatics analysis. Suggested by the simulation of molecular docking, it is found that the carboxyl group of Cu complex could bind to probe protein, at the same time, the pyridine ring also could bind to the probe protein, and therefore suggested that the Cu complex exhibited excellent biological activities. Atomic and molecular iodine, I˙ and I2, play important roles in the atmosphere, such as the catalytic depletion of ozone and the oxidation of gaseous elemental mercury. It is known that the major source of I˙ and I2 in the atmosphere is the photodissociation of organoiodine molecules released by algae in the sea. In this study, we show the striking results of the spontaneous and ultrafast oxidation of I− into I˙, which further evolves into I2− and I3− in water microdroplets, presenting a previously unknown source of I˙ and I2 in atmospheric water, such as the sea spray or cloud microdroplets. Mass spectrometric evidence shows that spontaneously generated hydroxyl radicals in water microdroplets are responsible for the oxidation of I−. Targeted protein degradation (TPD) provides unprecedented opportunities for drug discovery. While the proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) technology has already entered clinical trials and changed the landscape of small-molecule drugs, new degrader technologies harnessing alternative degradation machineries, especially lysosomal pathways, have emerged and broadened the spectrum of degradable targets. We have recently proposed the concept of autophagy-tethering compounds (ATTECs) that hijack the autophagy protein microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B light chain 3 (LC3) for targeted degradation. Other groups also reported degrader technologies engaging lysosomal pathways through different mechanisms including AUTACs, AUTOTACs, LYTACs and MoDE-As. In this review, we analyse and discuss ATTECs along with other lysosomal-relevant degrader technologies. By spraying pure water microdroplets into a mass spectrometer, we detected OH⋅ in the form of (H4O2)+ that is essentially OH⋅−H3O+, a hydroxyl radical combined with a hydronium cation through hydrogen bonding. We also successfully captured it with two OH⋅ scavengers, caffeine and melatonin, and key oxidation radical intermediates that bear important mechanistic information were seen. Background: Stereotactic radiotherapy (SBRT) is widely used in the treatment of thoracic cancer.Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of a non-rebreather mask (NRBM) and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) in patients with radiation pneumonia complicated with respiratory failure.Methods: This was a single-center randomized controlled study. Patients admitted to the EICU of the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University were selected and divided into NRBM and HFNC group. Arterial blood gas analysis, tidal volume, respiratory rates and the cases of patients receiving invasive assisted ventilation were collected at 0, 4, 8, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h after admission.Results: (1) The PaO2/FiO2, respiratory rates, and tidal volume between the two groups at 0, 4, 8, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h were different, with F values of 258.177, 294.121, and 134.372, all P< 0.01. These indicators were different under two modes of oxygenation, with F values of 40.671, 168.742, and 55.353, all P< 0.01, also varied with time, with an F value of 7.480, 9.115, and 12.165, all P< 0.01. (2) The incidence of trachea intubation within 72 h between HFNC and NRBM groups (23 [37.1%] vs. 34 [54.0%], P< 0.05). The transition time to mechanical ventilation in the HFNC and NRBM groups (55.3 ± 3.2 h vs. 45.9 ± 3.6 h, P< 0.05). (3) The risk of intubation in patients with an APACHE-II score > 23 was 2.557 times than score ⩽ 23, and the risk of intubation in the NRBM group was 1.948 times more than the HFNC group (P< 0.05).Conclusion: Compared with the NRBM, HFNC can improve the oxygenation state of patients with radiation pneumonia complicated with respiratory failure in a short time, and reduce the incidence of trachea intubation within 72 h. Heat-treated wood is widely used as building exterior wall panels and landscape materials due to its excellent dimensional stability and durability. However, heat-treated wood is susceptible to discoloration and cracking due to ultraviolet radiation, temperature and humidity changes in the outdoor environment. In this study, Ce/TiO 2 alcohol solution was prepared by sol-gel method, and the inorganic anti-ultraviolet coating was attached to the surface of wood by brush coating. Then artificial accelerated weathering test was carried out for 672 h to evaluate the weathering behavior of heat-treated wood. UV–Vis spectroscopy and macroscopic morphology analysis of the glass substrate show that the coating has good transparency and effective UV shielding ability. Scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis showed that the coating successfully adhered to the wood surface and played a good anti-ultraviolet effect. After artificial weathering, the color difference values of unmodified wood, Ce modified wood, TiO 2 modified wood and Ce/TiO 2 modified wood were 6.04, 4.97, 3.67 and 3.29, respectively. Based on the changes of color and wood chemical composition, the Ce/TiO 2 anti-ultraviolet coating can significantly improve the weathering resistance of heat-treated wood, and ultimately limit the degradation degree of surface chemical composition of heat-treated wood. • A transparent anti-ultraviolet coating was prepared based on inorganic materials. • The weathering resistance of heat-treated wood was significantly improved. • The modified wood showed excellent color stability during artificial accelerated weathering. • Inorganic materials, silane coupling agent are green and environmentally friendly, and the modification method is simple. • Testicular inflammation induced by aging is identified as a potential risk factor for late-onset hypogonadism. • TNFAIP3, an anti-inflammatory factor, demonstrates close involvement in various aging and inflammatory diseases. • Our study reveals TNFAIP3 promotes testosterone production and suppresses apoptosis in Leydig cells within the aging inflammatory microenvironment. The aging inflammatory microenvironment surrounding Leydig cells is linked to reduced testosterone levels in males. Tumor necrosis factor alpha-induced protein 3 (TNFAIP3) acts as a critical anti-inflammatory factor in various aging-related diseases. This study aims to investigate the protective effect of TNFAIP3 on testosterone production in Leydig cells under an aging inflammatory microenvironment. Bioinformatics analysis examined TNFAIP3 expression differences in aging rat testes and validated the findings in aging mouse testes. In vitro models of inflammation were established using two Leydig cell lines, with tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) as the inflammatory factor. Lentiviral transduction was utilized to manipulate TNFAIP3 expression in these cell lines. Transcriptomic sequencing identified differentially expressed genes in TNFAIP3-overexpressing cells. Bioinformatics analysis and validation experiments revealed increased inflammatory signaling and elevated TNFAIP3 expression in aging rat and mouse testes. TNFAIP3 knockdown worsened testosterone synthesis inhibition and apoptosis in cells, while TNFAIP3 overexpression reversed these effects. Transcriptome analysis identified alterations in the P38MAPK pathway following TNFAIP3 overexpression. TNFAIP3 knockdown enhanced TNF-induced P38MAPK signaling, whereas its overexpression attenuated this effect. TNFAIP3 was found to regulate testosterone synthesis by upregulating CEBPB expression. TNFAIP3 exhibits inhibitory effects on apoptosis and promotes testosterone production in Leydig cells. The protective influence of TNFAIP3 on Leydig cells within an inflammatory microenvironment is likely mediated through by inhibiting the P38MAPK pathway and upregulating CEBPB expression. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems have extensively contributed to diverse scientific applications in the recent past decades. For the next generation of top-level SAR systems, the multimodal operation of wide swath imaging, sliding spotlight, and highly sensitive ground moving target indication (GMTI) is becoming increasingly crucial. Following this concept, in this article, a novel airborne multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) SAR system, along with the space–time coding (STC) waveform scheme and the phased array, is developed to realize the multimodal operation. In particular, the airborne MIMO SAR system consists of two transmitters and four receivers. The signals of the multiple modes, which overlap in the frequency domain, are interpulse modulated and transmitted by different subarrays concomitantly. The superposed echoes are separated by range-Doppler filtering. Based on the separated echoes, we can obtain eight equivalent transceiver channels and, as a result, enhance the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for airborne multimodal operation. In the future, the STC waveform scheme and flight experiments of this novel airborne MIMO SAR system will be further investigated to reduce the pulse repeat frequency (PRF) for spaceborne multimodal operation. A selenium-functionalized ε-caprolactone was synthesized by introducing a phenyl selenide group at the 7-position. A polymer was obtained through the ring-opening polymerization of this monomer in a base/thiourea binary organocatalytic system. A living polymerization process was achieved under mild conditions. The resulting polymers had a controlled molecular weight with a narrow molecular weight distributions and high end-group fidelity. Random copolymers could be obtained by copolymerizing this monomer with ε-caprolactone. The thermal degradation temperature of the obtained copolymers decreased with the increasing molar ratio of selenide functionalized monomer in copolymers, while the glass transition temperature increased. In addition, the phenyl selenide side group could be further modified to a polyselenonium salt, which resulted in a polymer with good antibacterial properties. Herein, we report an iridium-catalyzed branched-selective hydroacylation of 1-aryl 1,3-dienes with salicylaldehydes under mild conditions with no need of phosphine ligands. With this protocol, a series of α-branched β,γ-unsaturated o-hydroxyacetophenones with biological potentials were synthesized in high efficiency with excellent regioselectivities. A quantitative analysis of contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) enhancement was conducted for the early prediction of the pathological response after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). Retrospective analysis of the data of 111 patients was conducted, and all of them underwent NAC in our hospital and surgical resection after the end of all cycles from January 2018 to May 2019. They were divided into pathological complete response (PCR) and non-PCR groups. We determined whether a statistical difference in the percentage of CESM grey value reduction (ΔCGV) was present in the PCR and non-PCR groups and whether a statistical difference was observed in the diagnostic efficiency of craniocaudal (CC) and mediolateral oblique (MLO) view subtraction images. Independent sample t-test was used to compare different groups, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to compare the diagnostic efficacy of CC and MLO for pathological response after NAC, and the Delong test was used to compare the area under the ROC curve (AUC). Statistical significance was considered at P < 0.05. A statistical difference was observed in the ΔCGV in the PCR and non-PCR groups. No statistical difference was observed in the AUCs of CC and MLO view subtraction images. The ΔCGV can be used as a quantitative index to predict PCR early, and no statistical difference was observed in the diagnostic efficacy of CC and MLO view subtraction images. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a complex mental disorder, closely associated with stress and traumatic events. Salidroside (Sal) has been reported to possess neuroprotective effects. However, the behavioral effects and mechanisms of Sal on PTSD remain unknown. In this study, we utilized a rat model of PTSD induced by single prolonged stress (SPS) and administered Sal intraperitoneally (25, 50, 75 mg/kg/d) for 14 days. We then examined the behavioral effects and underlying mechanisms of Sal on SPS-induced PTSD rats. Our findings demonstrated that Sal alleviated anxiety-like behavior and spatial learning and memory impairment in SPS-induced PTSD rats. Furthermore, Sal treatment preserved the histomorphology of the hippocampal region. It was observed that Sal protected against hippocampal neuronal apoptosis in PTSD rats by reducing the number of TUNEL-positive cells and modulating apoptosis-related proteins (Bcl-2 and Bax). Additionally, Sal inhibited the activation of the NF-κB/iNOS/COX-2 signaling pathway in the hippocampus of PTSD rats, thereby suppressing the release of inflammatory factors (TNF-α and IL-1β) and the activation of microglia. Notably, Sal increased the expression of synapse-associated proteins PSD95 and Synapsin I in the hippocampus, while also enhancing dendritic density in the region. In conclusion, our results demonstrated that Sal could attenuate SPS-induced PTSD-like behaviors by inhibiting hippocampal neuronal apoptosis, enhancing hippocampal synaptic plasticity, and reducing neuroinflammatory responses. User interactions with smartwatches are limited due to one-finger usage on small touch screens. However, smartwatch interaction capabilities can be extended beyond the screen into the around-device space by leveraging multi-finger interactions. In this paper, we explore suitable finger postures and gestures in mid-air and on the back of the palm to extend interaction capabilities on the unmodified commodity smartwatch while ensuring their learnability through discoverability. We conduct a design study to find a set of finger postures and gestures suitable for interacting with off-the-shelf smartwatches. An application is then designed to detect the posture-gesture set with on-device dual cameras while examining their classification accuracy. To facilitate learnability through discoverability of the gesture-posture set, we explore 'context-aware-hints' that shows a sub-set of gesture-posture and their associated actions based on the usage context. Herein, we report a highly diastereo- and enantioselective allylic alkylation of oxazolones with 1,3-dienes by palladium-hydride catalyst under base-free conditions. With DTBM-SEGPHOS as the chiral ligand, a series of enantioenriched oxazolones bearing tertiary carbon centers were synthesized from substituted 1,3-dienes via exclusive 1,2-addition with moderate to good diastereoselectivities and high enantioselectivities. When simple 1,3-butadiene was used as the allyl precursor under this base-free catalytic system, 1,4-addition products were obtained in good yields with high regioselectivities. Heat treatment is a green, environmentally friendly and mild pyrolysis process that improves the dimensional stability and durability of wood. In this study, Larix spp. Samples were heated at 180 °C and 210 °C for 6 h with nitrogen, air or oil as heat-conducting media. The influence of high-temperature heat treatment on the microstructure, chemical components, and micromechanical properties was investigated. The mass loss rate increased with increasing temperature, and the degradation of wood components resulted in cracks in the cell walls. Samples treated with air showed more cracks in cell walls than were observed in the cells walls of wood treated with the other heat-conducting media. The hardness of the cell walls increased after all heat treatments. In addition, the results showed that heat treatment reduced creep behavior compared to that of untreated wood. PDT is a well-established therapeutic modality for many types of cancer. Photoluminescent cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes are one of the most commonly used classes of organometallic compounds with potential beneficial applications in bioimaging and as promising anticancer agents. In the present study, three new cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes (Ir1 – Ir3) containing guanidinium ligands were found to exert excellent cytotoxic effects on different types of cancer cells upon light irradiation at 425 nm. Notably, Ir1 conferred almost no dark toxicity (IC 50 > 100 μM) to HepG2 cells, but the value decreased by 387-fold to 0.36 μM following 10 min of light irradiation (425 nm). Further mechanistic investigation revealed that complex Ir1 could induce apoptosis via the activation of reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated mitochondrial signaling pathways in the presence or absence of light irradiation. In vivo studies demonstrated that Ir1 significantly inhibited tumor growth in HepG2 xenograft-bearing mice under light irradiation at 425 nm. Taken together, these findings indicate that designing PDT-based Ir(III) complexes may hold a great deal of promise for anticancer drug development. Special attention has been devoted to joint wireless communication and radar sensing systems in recent years. However, since communication and radar have conflict requirements in terms of waveforms, transceiver developments, and signal processing algorithms, realization of this system concept is still a great challenge. In this paper, we introduce an airborne multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar, along with the modified orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) and space–time coding (STC) waveform schemes, for the implementation of the joint wireless communication and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging. The proposed system, which simultaneously transmits multidimensional waveforms with reconfigurable channels, can acquire adequate degrees of freedom. Thereby, it becomes a feasible method to perform both data transmission and high-resolution SAR imaging at the same time without intramodal interference. Theoretical analysis is validated by laboratory and flight experiments. As a pulsed power supply, compensated pulsed alternator (CPA) has high power density and high energy density. In order to compensate the torque and gyroscopic effects during the discharge process and improve the ability of power supply, even number of similar counter-rotating alternators could be used, synchronously running in pairs and connecting in parallel to the load. However, there are unavoidable differences in parameters between machines, and this may result in a large difference between their discharge depth and discharge current waveforms and then cause the loss of life of some machines and rectifier devices as well as the decline of system output. Focusing on the synchronization of CPAs running in pairs, the factors that affect the synchronous operation of the machines are analyzed first. Then, the principle and characteristics of using different excitation circuit topologies to achieve synchronization are studied, and the limitations of such methods are pointed out. Finally, three active synchronization methods are proposed: excitation loop suppression (ELS), startup time regulation, and seed capacitor voltage regulation, hoping to make that the discharge depth tends to be the same and the difference of the discharge current amplitude to be in a small range. In this personal account, we summarize our investigations on the α-alkylation and α-alkenylation reactions of ketones with nonactivated alkenes and alkynes, respectively. The serendipitous discovery of C–H alkylation/alkenylation of cyclic 1,2-diketones provided a proof of concept for a dual activation strategy. Extension to the α-alkylation and α-alkenylation of regular ketones was achieved by using 7-azaindoline as a bifunctional ligand. Subsequently, intramolecular coupling -between ketones and olefins was achieved with Rh- and Ru-based systems, respectively. Three-dimensional genome structures play a key role in gene regulation and cell functions. Characterization of genome structures necessitates single-cell measurements. This has been achieved for haploid cells but has remained a challenge for diploid cells. We developed a singlecell chromatin conformation capture method, termed Dip-C, that combines a transposon-based whole-genome amplification method to detect many chromatin contacts, called META (multiplex end-tagging amplification), and an algorithm to impute the two chromosome haplotypes linked by each contact. We reconstructed the genome structures of single diploid human cells from a lymphoblastoid cell line and from primary blood cells with high spatial resolution, locating specific single-nucleotide and copy number variations in the nucleus. The two alleles of imprinted loci and the two X chromosomes were structurally different. Cells of different types displayed statistically distinct genome structures. The present study aimed to explore the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic partial splenectomy in the treatment of benign lesions of the spleen and partial splenic rupture. The clinical value of laparoscopic partial splenectomies performed between March 2015 and May 2022 was retrospectively analyzed. Cases considered included the following: 14 spleen cysts, five spleen hemangiomas, one spleen hamartoma and two splenic ruptures. Lesion diameters of cases ranged from 5.0-11.3 cm. Results indicated that all 22 patients had an uneventful surgery, including 11 cases with lesions located in the upper pole of the spleen, nine in the lower pole of the spleen, one in the upper middle pole and one in the middle and lower pole. Operation time ranged from 75-180 min (mean: 120±17 min) and intraoperative bleeding ranged from 80-300 ml (mean: 178±70 ml). The average duration of postoperative hospitalization was 6±2 days, with all patients followed up for 10-12 months. Patients reported no symptoms of discomfort and had platelet levels within normal range. In conclusion, laparoscopic partial splenectomy allows for lesion resection while retaining normal splenic function and may be effectively used for treating benign spleen tumors and partial splenic rupture. The aim of this study is to provide a sound support design for a large-scale underground water-sealed oil storage facility in China. The lithology of this study area consists of reddish-gray, medium-coarse grained granites interpenetrated by diabase, amphibole dioritic porphyrite and aplite. In order to obtain the geotechnical properties of intact rocks and rock masses, detailed field and laboratory studies were carried out. Rock masses at three sites were characterized in terms of Rock Mass Rating (RMR), Rock Mass Quality ( Q -system) and Geological Strength Index (GSI), and then rock mass properties of underground caverns were estimated, accordingly. The support systems obtained from empirical methods were analyzed using FLAC3D commercial software considering the effect of the water curtain system. The maximum thickness of plastic zones and the maximum total displacement occurred around underground caverns after installing the support systems suggested by the empirical methods were compared to the unsupported case. Guanidinium-functionalized molecules are commonly studied for their use as pharmaceutically active compounds and drugs carriers. Herein, four cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes containing guanidinium ligands have been synthesized and characterized as potential anticancer agents. These complexes exhibit moderate antitumor activity in HeLa, MCF-7, HepG2, CNE-2, and A549 human tumor cells. Interestingly, all complexes showed higher cytotoxicity than cisplatin against a cisplatin-resistant cell line A549R, and less cytotoxicity on the nontumorigenic LO2 cells. Intracellular distribution studies suggest that these complexes are selectively localized in the mitochondria. Mechanism studies indicate that these complexes arrested the cell cycle in the G0/G1 phase and can influence mitochondrial integrity, inducing cancer cell death through reactive oxygen species (ROS)-dependent pathways. In this paper, the properties of current capacity and ac transport loss of striated high temperature superconductor (HTS) coil is compared with ordinary HTS coil by using both experimental and simulation methods. The measurements were carried out by transporting a sinusoidal varying current at 77 K, with an amplitude range of 10–50 A in frequency from 70 up to 300 Hz. Measurement facilities and methods are explained in more detail in the paper. The critical current of the 4-mm width multifilament coil made with four filaments at a spacing 0.03 mm was found to be lower than that of the nonstriated coil. The frequency dependent characteristics agreed well in both experimental and simulated results. Reducing ac loss of HTS is one enabling factor for widespread adoption of the technology, and therefore, understanding its characteristics is important and discussed in this paper. Identification of rock discontinuity sets is an important foundation for stability analysis of rock engineering applications. A modified affinity propagation (AP) algorithm is proposed for identifying rock discontinuity sets based on discontinuity orientations. The method considers all data points as potential clustering centers simultaneously, which could avoid the hard selection on initial clustering centers as well as achieve the global optimization. Euclidean distance measure in the original algorithm is not suitable for the clustering of discontinuity orientations and therefore a similarity measure based on the negative sine-squared value of the acute angle between discontinuity unit normal vectors was used. Moreover, the Silhouette validity index was introduced to determine the optimal clustering number. The validity of the new method was tested by using artificial data, and in-situ data compiled from the literature. Finally, the proposed method was applied to discontinuity grouping in an underground water-sealed oil storage cavern in Liaoning Province, China. The inhibitory effects of nine ionic liquids (ILs) on the catalase activity were investigated using fluorescence, absorption ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. The interactions of ILs and catalase on the molecular level were studied. The experimental results indicated that ILs could inhibit the catalase activity and their inhibitory abilities depended on their chemical structures. Fluorescence experiments showed that hydrogen bonding played an important role in the interaction process. The inhibitory abilities of ILs on catalase activity could be simply described by their hydrophobicity and hydrogen bonding abilities. Unexpected less inhibitory effects of trifluoromethanesulfonate (TfO-) might be ascribed to its larger size, which makes it difficult to go through the substrate channel of catalase to the active site. Two ruthenium(II) complexes containing guanidinium ligands have been synthesized and characterized for the first time. It was found that the two complexes exhibit moderate antitumor activity in Hela, A549, CNE-2, MCF-7, and HepG2 human tumor cells. Flow cytometric analysis showed that both complexes arrested the cell cycle in the G2/M phase and induced apoptosis in Hela cells. Mechanism studies indicate that both complexes induced apoptosis through caspase- and reactive oxygen species (ROS)-dependent pathways. A wide dynamic range CMOS image sensor (CIS) based on the synthesis of long and short exposure signals is proposed. To achieve the high-speed readout, a high speed, 12-bit column-parallel incremental sigma-delta (ΣΔ) ADC including digital correlated double sampling (CDS) is developed to implement the synthesis of dual-exposure data on chip. Since the use of ΣΔADC, it does not require huge frame memory device to store conversion data, the synthesis of long and short exposure images simply and can be easily implemented on CIS chip, and the power dissipation is reduced. The CMOS image sensor has been fabricated with 0.18 μm 1P4M CIS process. This sensor achieves a dynamic range of 95 dB, and the measured results indicate that the random noise is 7 e rms − , the pixel conversion gain is 100 μV/ e − , full well capacity of the pixel is 25000 e − , and the power dissipation of one ADC is only 32 μW. Nanoindentation equipped with hot stage to investigate the temperature-dependent real-time mechanical behavior of wood cell wall is introduced. In this study, wood samples were heat-treated at 180 °C and 210 °C. The effects of heat treatment on Larix gmelinii (Rupr.) Kuzen , a species of larch native to eastern Siberia, were studied at the cell-wall level. Nanoindentation at high temperature was used to track changes in the micromechanical properties in the longitudinal direction and to obtain measurements for both the temperature-dependent reduced modulus and hardness. The average reduced modulus of the cell wall slightly increased, while hardness tended to increase after heat treatment under room temperature conditions. The nanoindentation tests showed that both the reduced modulus and hardness of the wood cell walls tended to decrease as the temperature increased from 20 °C to 180 °C. The fat mass and obesity-associated (FTO) gene was the first obesity-susceptibility gene identified through a genome-wide association study (GWAS). A growing number of studies have suggested that genetic variants of FTO are strongly associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension and acute coronary syndrome. In addition, FTO was also the first N6-methyladenosine (m6A) demethylase, suggesting the reversible nature of m6A modification. m6A is dynamically deposited, removed, and recognized by m6A methylases, demethylases, and m6A binding proteins, respectively. By catalyzing m6A demethylation on mRNA, FTO may participate in various biological processes by modulating RNA function. Recent studies demonstrated that FTO plays a pivotal role in the initiation and progression of cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial fibrosis, heart failure, and atherosclerosis and may hold promise as a potential therapeutic target for treating or preventing a variety of cardiovascular diseases. Here, we review the association between FTO genetic variants and cardiovascular disease risk, summarize the role of FTO as an m6A demethylase in cardiovascular disorders, and discuss future research directions and possible clinical implications. Two new Ru(II) complexes containing guanidinium groups have been synthesized, characterized and analyzed according to their interactions with different G-quadruplexes and duplex DNA. A FRET assay and a competitive FRET assay showed that both complexes promote the formation and stabilization of the human telomeric (h-telo) G-quadruplex and exhibit higher selectivity compared to promoters (such as c-myc, c-kit and bcl2) or duplex DNA. After binding to G-quadruplex, the two complexes have shown different DNA affinity and fluorescence enhancement. CD analyses further indicate that the two complexes display the ability to induce and stabilize the formation of antiparallel G-quadruplex structures in K + , Na + or ion-free buffers. Herein, we report the successful preparation of structurally defined porous membranes based on hexakistriphenylamine metallacycles through electropolymerization. In this work, several hydroxyl-functionalized ionic liquids (ILs) were synthesized and used to extract tryptophan from the aqueous phase. The experimental results indicated that the hydroxyl-functionalized ILs presented better extraction ability than the dialkylimidazolium-based ILs. The extraction efficiency was significantly influenced by the pH of the aqueous phase. Moreover, the cationic form of tryptophan preferred to transfer into the IL phase, thereby suggesting a cation-exchange extraction mechanism. Driving forces of the extraction processes included hydrogen bonding, hydrophobicity, π-π stacking, and the screening effect. Among these factors, hydrogen bonding was the main parameter, as suggested by the results of thermodynamic analysis. After extraction, [C1C6OHim]NTf2 could be reused by using the pH swing effect. This paper reports a divergent strategy for the synthesis of multisubstituted tetrahydrofurans and pyrrolidines, starting from easily accessible β-hydroxyketones or β-aminoketones to react with diazo compounds. Under RhII catalysis, this transformation is proposed to proceed through a metal-carbene-induced oxonium ylide or ammonium ylide formation followed by an intramolecular aldol-type trapping of these active intermediates. A series of highly substituted tetrahydrofurans and pyrrolidines are synthesized in high yields with good to excellent diastereoselectivities. To investigate pancreaticobiliary ductal anatomy during developmental stages, gallbladders, common bile ducts, pancreatic ducts and their interface with theduodenum were studied in 36 human fetuses between 4-6 weeks postconceptual age were studied. For histological examination, sections were cut continuously from the paraffin-embedded tissue block and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. The expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen in the gallbladder was examined with immunohistochemistry. Among 36 cases, three shapes of the greater duodenal papilla were found: hemispheroid (58.1%), circular cylinder (25%), and flat shape (16.9%). For the location of the greater duodenal papillas, more than half (69.4%) of the cases were in the middle descendant duodenum. Seven cases (19.4%) were in the lower descendant duodenum. Three cases (8.3%) were in the upper descendant duodenum, and one (2.9%) was in the distal descending part of duodenum. There were four types of the pancreaticobiliary ductal union: “Y” in 24 cases(66.7%), “U” in 4 cases (11.1%),”V” in 7 cases (19.4%), and pancreaticobiliary maljunction in 1 case (2.8%). For patients with congenital bile duct dilation and Biliary cancer, the positive cells of proliferating cell nuclear antigen were increased significantly (P< 0.05). This work investigated the spectrum-effect relationships between high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprints and the anti-benign prostatic hyperplasia activities of aqueous extracts from Saxifraga stolonifera. The fingerprints of S. stolonifera from various sources were established by HPLC and evaluated by similarity analysis (SA), hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) and principal component analysis (PCA). Nine samples were obtained from these 24 batches of different origins, according to the results of SA, HCA and the common chromatographic peaks area. A testosterone-induced mouse model of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) was used to establish the anti-benign prostatic hyperplasia activities of these nine S. stolonifera samples. The model was evaluated by analyzing prostatic index (PI), serum acid phosphatase (ACP) activity, concentrations of serum dihydrotestosterone (DHT), prostatic acid phosphatase (PACP) and type II 5α-reductase (SRD5A2). The spectrum-effect relationships between HPLC fingerprints and anti-benign prostatic hyperplasia activities were investigated using Grey Correlation Analysis (GRA) and partial least squares regression (PLSR). The results showed that a close correlation existed between the fingerprints and anti-benign prostatic hyperplasia activities, and peak 14 (chlorogenic acid), peak 17 (quercetin 5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside) and peak 18 (quercetin 3-O-β-L-rhamno-pyranoside) in the HPLC fingerprints might be the main active components against anti-benign prostatic hyperplasia. This work provides a general model for the study of spectrum-effect relationships of S. stolonifera by combing HPLC fingerprints with a testosterone-induced mouse model of BPH, which can be employed to discover the principle components of anti-benign prostatic hyperplasia bioactivity. The boride layer was fabricated on the surface of carbon steel by a novel RE-Chrome-Boronizing technology assisted by fast multiple rotation rolling (FMRR) treatment at low temperature. The microstructure of the boride layer was characterized by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The microstructure of the top surface layer of substrate was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high resolution rransmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Experimental results showed that a nanostructured layer with grain size of approximately 30 nm was obtained; the amorphous phase and high-density dislocations were observed in upper-layer of FMRR samples, which led to the reduction of diffusion activation energy of boron atoms. Boride layers fabricated on the FMRR samples are continuous, dense, uniform, and low in brittleness. The penetrating rate was enhanced significantly when the FMRR samples were Cr-Rare earth-boronized at 650 °C for 6 h. The thickness of the boride layer of FMRR samples on carbon steel was approximately 25 μm when the duration was 60 min, which was approximately 1.5 times higher than the original sample. It is a fact that the level of estradiol (E2) in powdered milk has been increased manyfold with growing concerns on dairy safety. Our study produced a panel of monoclonal antibodies (mAb) specific for E2 screening and established a lateral flow colloidal gold immunoassay strip for determining E2 in milk samples with the E2 mAb. The sensitivity of the test strip was found to be 180.42 ± 3.17 pg/mL and the lower detection limit (LDL) value was 37.14 pg/mL. For negative milk samples spiked with 400, 800, and 1200 pg/mL, the recovery range was 86.7–93.5% and the coefficient of variation scope [CV (%)] was 4.8–6.2%. The results of comparative studies between test strips and HPLC were relatively identical while the strip test only required less than 8 min. In this investigation, a series of 6-phenylimidazo[2,1- b ]thiazole derivatives were synthesized. Structure–activity relationship (SAR) analysis of these compounds based on cellular assays led to the discovery of a number of compounds that showed potent activity against FLT3-dependent human acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell line MV4-11, but very weak or no activity against FLT3-independent human cervical cancer cell line Hela. FLT3 kinase inhibition assays were then performed on the three most active compounds. Among these compounds, 6-(4-(3-(5-( tert -butyl)isoxazol- 3-yl)ureido)phenyl)- N -(3-(dimethylamino)propyl)imidazo[2,1- b ]thiazole-3-carboxamide ( 19 ) exhibited the highest potency in both cellular (MV4-11, IC 50 : 0.002 μM) and enzymatic (FLT3, IC 50 : 0.022 μM) assays.
