It was aimed to examine the antioxidant, phenolic profile, and volatile compound contents of seven different aromatic plant samples (broccoli, yarpuz, walnut leaves, marshmallow, wild clary, harmala, and common yarrow) collected from Adilcevaz district of Bitlis province in Türkiye. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) device was used for the volatile profile of the plant varieties. The most abundant volatile compounds were generally heptacosane compound that showed anticancer and antimicrobial effects. Piperitone oxide was detected only in yarpuz samples. Phenolic content and antioxidant activity of the plant samples were found to be highly significant (p <.01). When the amounts of total flavonoids were ranked from the largest to the smallest according to plant varieties, it was determined as wild clary > walnut leaves > yarpuz > common yarrow > marshmallow > harmala > broccoli. According to both antioxidant activity methods, wild clary had the lowest IC50 (half‐maximal inhibitory concentration) value, i.e. the highest antioxidant activity. The highest amount of epicatechin was determined in yarpuz (898.30 μg/g) and the lowest amount of epicatechin was determined in wild clary (86.09 μg/g). No epicatechin was detected in the other four plant samples. Among the samples, melatonin hormone was detected only in common yarrow, harmala, and broccoli and the highest value was determined in common yarrow (3996.27 ng/g). Therefore, it shows that plant samples are rich sources of phytochemicals that can play an important role in preventing the progression of many diseases related to oxidative stress in traditional medicine treatment as functional food sources. In this study, the polarographic behavior of irbesartan was investigated using the cyclic polarographic method. A mercury drop electrode was used to quantify the peak currents in comparison to Ag/AgCl at 0.10 V/s. Additionally, quick and easy square wave and differential pulse polarographic methods were developed and validated to determine irbesartan in pharmaceutical preparations. For both methods, the calibration curves were linear at concentrations between 5 and 70 µg/mL. The precision was given by relative standard deviation and was less than 2.61%. Accuracy was given with relative error and did not exceed 1.24%. The suggested methods are extremely accurate and precise. No interference was found under the chosen experimental conditions. In pharmaceutical preparations, irbesartan had an average recovery of 99.8%. Therefore, the methods are applicable to the determination of irbesartan in pharmaceutical preparations. This work reports the using of N-methyl-N-(trimethylsilyl) trifluoroacetamide for the derivatization of naproxen and the GC-MS method for naproxen detection in pharmaceutical preparations. The linearity of the GC-MS technique was proven over the concentration range of 0.5-12 μg/mL. There was less than 1.20 and 1.73% for the intra- and inter-day relative standard deviation, respectively. For the GC-MS technique, the limits of detection and quantification were established at 0.05 and 0.15 μg/mL. The developed technique was used to analysis tablets of a pharmaceutical preparation called Aleve. At the chosen assay conditions, tablet excipients did not cause any interference. In this study, a new and rapid spectrofluorometry and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods were developed for determination of human growth hormone in pure and pharmaceutical dosage form. The solvent system, wavelength of detection and chromatographic conditions were optimized in order to maximize the sensitivity of both the proposed methods. The linearity was established over the concentration range of 1.25-50μg mL-1 for spectrofluorometry and 10-75μg mL-1 for HPLC method. The intra- and inter-day relative standard deviation (RSD) was less than 8.46 and 5.98% for spectrofluorometry and HPLC, respectively. Limits of quantitation were determined as 0.075 and 7.5μg mL-1 for spectrofluorometry and HPLC, respectively. No interference was found from tablet excipients at the selected assay conditions. The methods were applied for the quality control of commercial growth hormone dosage form to quantify the drug and to check the formulation content uniformity.

In this study, a simple and reliable cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry method were developed and validated for determination of carvedilol in pharmaceutical preparations. The proposed method was based on electrochemical oxidation of carvedilol at platinum electrode in acetonitrile solution containing 0.1 m TBAClO4. The well defined three oxidation peaks were observed at 1.02, 1.17 and 1.42 V, respectively. Naproxen is one of the most used drugs today. Therefore, it is important to develop new and simple methods for the determination of naproxen. The goal of this research is to develop a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for analyzing naproxen levels in rabbit plasma and apply this method to the pharmacokinetic study. The liquid-liquid extraction technique was used to prepare blood samples from rabbits. Separation of naproxen was achieved on an HP-5 MS column. The method's calibration curve was plotted between 0.1 and 5.0 μg mL-1. The accuracy results were better than 2.18% and the precision results were less than 4.17% in rabbit plasma for naproxen. The method had recovery values >94.2% for all samples in rabbit plasma. In addition, the validated method was used to study naproxen pharmacokinetics in rabbits. The maximum naproxen plasma concentration is 42.1±4.243 μg mL-1. The duration to attain the greatest naproxen concentration and the area under the curve from (AUC0-16 h) were 1.50±0.196 h and 566.3±41.72 μg mL-1 h, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, alcohol extracts of Pleurotus sajor-caju and Pleurotus ostreatus which are edible mushroom species were obtained and their extract contents were determined by GC-MS. Antioxidant capacity of these alcohol extracts were determined with 2-2-diphenyl, 1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Antimicrobial activities of alcohol extracts was determined on Klebsiella oxycota, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Corynobacterium diphtheria, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, Bacillus cereus and Bacillus thuringiensis bacteria, and Rhodotorula glutinis and Candida albicans yeasts. Moreover, this study indicated the anti-quorum sensing activity of the tested mushroom extracts against to Chromobacterium violaceum CV026. P. sajor-caju and P. ostreatus alcohol extract compositions were determined with GC-MS. According to GC-MS results, 20 different compounds were found in P. sajor-caju and P. ostreatus alcohol extract. Hexadecanoic acid, linoleic acid, octadecanoic acid, 2,3-dihydroxypropyl ester and palmitic acid were found in both mushroom extracts. Because they contain a high content of fatty acids, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones and terpenoids, these extracts can be used both as antimicrobial, anticancerogenic, antioxidant and antiaging agents or can be consumed as food supplements.
