Methanol is a promising feedstock for the bio-based economy as it can be derived from organic waste streams or produced electrochemically from CO2. Acetate production from CO2 in microbial electrosynthesis (MES) has been widely studied, while more valuable compounds such as butyrate are currently attracting attention. In this study, methanol was used as a co-substrate with CO2 to enhance butyrate production in MES. Feeding with CO2 and methanol resulted in the highest butyrate production rates and titres of 0.36 ± 0.01 g L−1 d−1 and 8.6 ± 0.2 g L−1, respectively, outperforming reactors with only CO2 feeding (0.20 ± 0.03 g L−1 d−1 and 5.2 ± 0.1 g L−1, respectively). Methanol acted as electron donor and as carbon source, both of which contributed ca. 50% of the carbon in the products. Eubacterium was the dominant genus with 52.6 ± 2.5% relative abundance. Thus, we demonstrate attractive route for the use of the C1 substrates, CO2 and methanol, to produce mainly butyrate. Timely and accurate extraction of pavement crack information is crucial to maintain service conditions and structural safety for infrastructures and reduce further road maintenance costs. Currently, deep learning techniques for automated pavement crack detection are far superior to traditional manual approaches in both speed and accuracy. However, existing deep learning models may easily lose crack details when processing images containing complex background textures or other noises. Although many studies have alleviated this challenge by introducing attention mechanisms, especially the non‐local (NL) block, which has the ability to efficiently capture long‐range dependencies to facilitate crack pixel capture, the huge computational cost of NL makes the inference time of the model too long, which is not conducive to practical implementation. In this study, a new module, namely, the pyramid region attention module (PRAM), was developed by combining the pyramid pooling module in the pyramid scene parsing network and optimized NL, which can achieve global multi‐scale context integration and long‐range dependencies capture at a relatively lower computational cost. By applying PRAM to deep skip connections in the modified U‐Net, an effective crack segmentation model called CrackResU‐Net was developed. The test results on the existing CrackForest dataset showed that CrackResU‐Net not only achieved an F1 score of 0.9580 but also took only 25.89 ms to process an image with a resolution of 480 × 320, which had advantages in accuracy and speed, compared with several other state‐of‐the‐art crack segmentation approaches. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a retinal disease that arises from impaired glucose tolerance and leads to retinal microvascular leakages. Recent studies have indicated that DR pathogenesis is linked to dysfunctional retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells.Investigating the potential interplay between endothelial cells (ECs) and RPE cells by treating ECs with high glucose (HG) and evaluating the function of cytokines released from ECs on the growth of RPE cells.The results revealed that high glucose-stimulated Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVECs) activated the NF-κB signaling pathway, increased intracellular levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and expression of caspase 3 while also elevating HUVECs delivery of cytokines such as VEGF, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β.As a result of our study, cytokines released from HG-treated HUVECs impede the growth of ARPE-19 in vitro, highlighting the importance of functional ECs for exploring the underlying mechanisms of vascular-associated retinal dysfunction. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, and it's of great importance to understand its underlying mechanisms and find new treatments. Sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) is an active lipid that exerts its effects through S1P receptors on the cell surface or intracellular signal, and regulates many cellular processes such as cell growth, cell proliferation, cell migration, cell survival, and so on. S1PR modulators are a class of modulators that can interact with S1PR subtypes to activate receptors or block their activity, exerting either agonist or functional antagonist effects. Many studies have shown that S1P plays a protective role in the cardiovascular system and regulates cardiac physiological functions mainly through interaction with cell surface S1P receptors (S1PRs). Therefore, S1PR modulators may play a therapeutic role in cardiovascular diseases. Here, we review five S1PRs and their functions and the progress of S1PR modulators. In addition, we focus on the effects of S1PR modulators on atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion injury, diabetic cardiovascular diseases, and myocarditis, which may provide valuable insights into potential therapeutic strategies for cardiovascular disease. This study investigates how disclosure type and disclosure time have impacts on organizational reputation when medical negligence occurs and whether the mechanism of concealment intention and offensiveness attribution serially mediates the relationship between stealing thunder and organizational reputation. The study also explores the moderating effects of an organizational/industrial history of crisis concealment. Based on three scenario-based experiments, the results demonstrate that, compared to a media disclosure, the self-disclosure effect elicits lower concealment intention and higher organizational reputation. The longer the disclosure time, the higher the concealment intention and the lower the organizational reputation. The findings also show that the effect of disclosure type on organizational reputation is mediated serially by concealment intention and offensiveness attribution. In addition, for hospitals with an organizational history of crisis concealment, the effect of stealing thunder on concealment intention and organizational reputation was weaker. Further, under an industrial history of crisis concealment, the public perceived lower concealment intention and higher organizational reputation when the media disclosed the current crisis case. Objectives: To test the hypothesis that cardiovascular diseases and risk factors are associated with ulcer relapse in after‐retirement patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Subjects and Methods: This retrospective cohort study analyzed the data of 40 minor recurrent aphthous stomatitis patients aged 55–75 years, admitted to Oral Medicine Clinic at one university hospital in China between 2016 and 2018. The diagnosis of minor recurrent aphthous stomatitis was made based on the history and manifestation of oral ulcers. The ulcer relapse was evaluated after a 5‐week anti‐inflammatory treatment, and the history of systemic diseases was collected. cardiovascular disease/metabolic risk referred to the presence of any cardiovascular diseases and metabolic cardiovascular disease risks. Associations among cardiovascular diseases, risk factors, and ulcer relapse were evaluated. Results: The mean age of 40 patients with minor recurrent aphthous stomatitis was 62.4 years (SD 5.1), and 60% were women. The ulcer relapse rate was 37.5% (95% CI, 0.242–0.530). The proportion of cardiovascular disease/metabolic risk was higher in the relapse group than in the no‐relapse group after 5‐week anti‐inflammatory treatment (Fisher's exact test, p = 0.041). Conclusions: According to this single‐center experience, older patients with cardiovascular disease/metabolic risk may be more prone to oral ulcer recurrence. Disease severity grading is the primary decision-making basis for the amount of pesticide usage in vegetable disease prevention and control. Based on deep learning, this paper proposed an integrated framework, which automatically segments the target leaf and disease spots in cucumber images using different semantic segmentation networks and then calculates the area of disease spots and the target leaf for disease severity grading. Two independent datasets of leaves and lesions were constructed, which served as the training set for the first-stage diseased leaf segmentation and the second-stage lesion segmentation models. The leaf dataset contains 1140 images, and the lesion data set contains 405 images. The proposed TRNet was composed of a convolutional network and a Transformer network and achieved an accuracy of 93.94% by fusing local features and global features for leaf segmentation. In the second stage, U-Net (Resnet50 as the feature network) was used for lesion segmentation, and a Dice coefficient of 68.14% was obtained. After integrating TRNet and U-Net, a Dice coefficient of 68.83% was obtained. Overall, the two-stage segmentation network achieved an average accuracy of 94.49% and 94.43% in the severity grading of cucumber downy mildew and cucumber anthracnose, respectively. Compared with DUNet and BLSNet, the average accuracy of TUNet in cucumber downy mildew and cucumber anthracnose severity classification increased by 4.71% and 8.08%, respectively. The proposed model showed a strong capability in segmenting cucumber leaves and disease spots at the pixel level, providing a feasible method for evaluating the severity of cucumber downy mildew and anthracnose. Fibrinogen is a protein that reflects systemic inflammation and regulates the immune response to disease. However, there is a scarcity of data on fibrinogen in recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS). We aimed to test the hypothesis that fibrinogen is involved in the aetiology of RAS. Between November 2016 and November 2018, we included 109 minor RAS patients and 29 age‐ and sex‐matched controls in a single‐center, observational study. Their clinical history and ulcer manifestations led to the diagnosis of minor RAS. The ulcer severity score (USS) was used to assess disease severity, and fibrinogen was also collected. We conducted three analyses: Analysis 1 (comparison of fibrinogen levels between patients and controls), Analysis 2 (comparison of fibrinogen levels between high and low USS patients) and Analysis 3 (comparison of fibrinogen levels between before and after anti‐inflammatory treatment in patients). The fibrinogen levels in the 109 minor RAS patients were statistically higher than in the 29 controls (mean [SD], 2.6 [0.5] vs. 2.3 [0.3]; Student's t‐test, p < 0.001). However, there were no significant differences in fibrinogen levels among the 43 patients with high USS and the 39 patients with low USS (mean [SD], 2.7 [0.5] vs. 2.6 [0.4]; Student's t‐test, p = 0.278). Furthermore, fibrinogen levels were significantly higher before anti‐inflammatory treatment in comparison to those after anti‐inflammatory treatment in the 35 paired patients (mean [SD], 2.6 [0.4] vs. 2.5 [0.4]; Student's t‐test, p = 0.026). Interestingly, fibrinogen levels were significantly higher in the 35 paired patients after anti‐inflammatory treatment compared to the 29 control subjects (mean [SD], 2.5 [0.4] vs. 2.3 [0.3]; Student's t‐test, p = 0.026]. GLI1-altered mesenchymal tumor is an emerging entity with distinctive clinicopathologic features. It shows a distinctive monomorphic round to epithelioid morphology, nested to trabecular pattern of growth, and S100+/SOX10-/SMA-immunophenotype. We report an example of this entity arising in the duodenum. A 31-year-old man presented with anemia for 1 year, a mass in the duodenal bulb was found for 9 days. Histopathologic examination revealed the tumor with distinct multilobulated architecture, a monomorphic appearance of round to epithelioid cells arranged in papillary structures, nests, cords, solid, reticular patterns, and hyalinized stroma surrounding a rich capillary network. The neoplastic cells had amphophilic to light eosinophilic or clear cytoplasm, uniform round nuclei with fine chromatin and inconspicuous nucleoli. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed strong positivity for vimentin, S100, CD56, CyclinD1, and negativity for SOX10, SMA, melan-A, HMB-45, synaptophysin, and a variety of other markers. Based on the morphology and immunophenotype, molecular studies were performed, which revealed the presence of an ACTB :: GLI1 fusion transcript, confirming the diagnosis of GLI1-altered mesenchymal tumor. Room layout estimation aims to predict the location and range of layout planes of interior spaces. Previous works treat each layout plane as an independent individual without considering the ordinal relation between walls, resulting the loss of the wall planes and the lack of integrity. This paper proposes a novel two‐branch neural networks model to estimate 3D layouts of cuboid and non‐cuboid room types. The model embeds the ordinal relation between layout planes into the layout segmentation branch through an proposed ordinal classification loss function, and outputs both pixel‐level layout segmentation maps and layout plane parameter maps. Then, the instance‐level plane parameters of each layout plane are determined by using an instance‐aware pooling layer. Finally, the sharpness of layout edges of the 2D layout semantic segmentation map is optimized by using an improved depth map intersection algorithm. Furthermore, we annotate a large‐scale 3D room layout estimation dataset, InteriorNet‐Layout, to obtain a steady model. Experiments on synthesized real‐world datasets show that the proposed method achieves faster calculation while maintaining high accuracy. Classic biphasic pulmonary blastoma (CBPB), a distinct type of lung cancer, is a dual‐phasic tumor characterized by the co‐existence of low‐grade fetal adenocarcinoma and primitive mesenchymal stroma. Accounting for less than 0.1% of surgically removed lung cancers, CBPB commonly presents in individuals during their fourth to fifth decades of life, with smoking as a significant risk factor. The optimal management strategy entails surgical resection, supplemented by chemotherapy to improve prognosis. The frontline chemotherapeutic agents typically include platinum agents and etoposide, with preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy potentially enabling operability for initially inoperable cases. In recent years, targeted therapies, such as antiangiogenic agents, have emerged as promising new treatment strategies for CBPB. For patients exhibiting brain metastases or deemed inoperable, radiation therapy proves to be a crucial therapeutic component. CBPB prognosis is adversely affected by factors such as early metastasis, tumor size exceeding 5 cm, and tumor recurrence. In this regard, serological markers have been identified as valuable prognostic indicators. To exemplify, we recount the case of a 44‐year‐old female patient with CBPB, wherein serum lactate dehydrogenase levels showed significant diagnostic value. • Invasive fungal infections are on the rise among immunocompromised populations. • Using whole-genome sequencing, we identified a novel etiology of palatal perforation. • This novel pathomycete of palatal perforation was found in an immunocompetent adolescent. • Multidisciplinary treatment helps the prompt diagnosis and specific treatment of invasive fungal infections. Opportunistic oral mucosal fungal infection caused by Alternaria alternata is extremely rare. Herein, we present a rare palatal perforation as a result of oral infection caused by A. alternata in an immunocompetent adolescent. An 18-year-old boy, who had previously been healthy, was admitted to our institution with persistent pain in the palate for the past 12 months. Upon impression of palatal bone resorption based on computed tomography imaging and chronic granulomatous inflammation based on biopsy (hematoxylin-eosin staining), the patient was examined for commonly relevant causes such as potential tumor and Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. All test results were inconclusive. After a thorough diagnostic investigation, an unusual fungal infection, A. alternata infection, was confirmed by next-generation sequencing and biopsy (periodic acid-Schiff staining and immunofluorescence staining). The patient underwent surgical debridement and was subjected to voriconazole treatment postoperatively for over a period of 5 months. Thus, these findings highlight the importance of considering A. alternata as a potential pathogenic factor in an etiological palatal perforation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Evidence suggests that calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) can be induced to cause calcium overload, which in turn can trigger mitochondrial-dependent apoptosis. Dysregulation of systemic calcium homeostasis and changing levels of calcium-binding proteins have been shown to be associated with the malignant behavior of tumors. However, the precise molecular mechanism underlying Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) remains uncertain. Methods: Reticulocalbin (RCN2) expression in NPC was assessed using GEO database, western blot analysis and qRT-PCR. Apoptosis was assessed using flow cytometric analysis and the expression levels of apoptosis-related proteins were determined using western blot analysis. Intracellular calcium ion concentrations were measured using fluorescence imaging. The findings from these analyses were validated in vitro using nude mice models. Luciferase and ChIP assays were used to measure transcriptional regulation. Clinical significance was evaluated using tissue microarray analysis (n=150). Results: Our results showed that RCN2 promotes malignancy by causing Ca2+ flow imbalance, which leads to the initiation of the stress-mediated mitochondrial apoptosis pathway. We demonstrate that calreticulin (CALR) resides primarily in the endoplasmic reticulum and interacts with RCN2. Moreover, the transcription factors YY1 and homeobox protein goosecoid (GSC) both contribute to the initiation of RCN2 transcription by directly binding to the predicted promoter region of RCN2. Finally, high expression of RCN2 combined with high expression of GSC and YY1 may serve as an important clinical biomarker of poor prognosis in patients with NPC. Conclusion: YY1 and GSC are upstream regulators of RCN2, involved in mitochondrial calcium overload and stress-induced mitochondrial apoptosis. Based on the quantum valley Hall effect analogy, this work proposes a phononic crystal plate with ligament-type beams to obtain the topological valley transmission of elastic waves. A pure Bragg degenerate state appears in the high-frequency region with a resonator introduced. By rotating the central scatterer and the beams, the mirror symmetry is broken to form a topological bandgap. Subsequently, this work finds that two selective edge states also appear beside the commonly non-trivial crossing edge states in the topological bandgap by calculating the projected band and eigenvalue spectrum of the supercell with different valley Hall phases phononic crystals. Their appearance is due to band separation of the topological edge states caused by an increase in the rotation angle. Both selective edge states can transmit topologically in specific paths. They will help further to broaden the width of the frequency band of topological transmission. Besides, an elastic wave splitter is designed and demonstrated numerically, which can form two channels and three channels in different frequency bands. With the topological selective edge state disappearing, a topological corner state exists in the edge bandgap. We consider the question of language diffusion and examine the latest attempt to popularize the Ukrainian language. This effort has been undertaken by the Ukrainian government since 1991. While sociological studies report positive dynamics in Ukrainian language dissemination, in practice, the language adoption progress might be slower than reported. We test this hypothesis using google trends web search data. We apply a Bayesian beta regression model and show that the proposed model is appropriate. The results suggest that the Ukrainian language popularization policy is successful and that the 2022 Russian invasion has considerably intensified the usage of the Ukrainian language. Layered composite hydrogels have been considered attractive materials for use in osteochondral repair and regeneration. These hydrogel materials should be mechanically strong, elastic, and tough besides fulfilling some basic requirements such as biocompatibility and biodegradability. A novel type of bilayered composite hydrogel with multi-network structures and well-defined injectability was thus developed for osteochondral tissue engineering using chitosan (CH), hyaluronic acid (HA), silk fibroin (SF), CH nanoparticles (NPs), and amino-functionalized mesoporous bioglass (ABG) NPs. CH was combined with HA and CH NPs to build the chondral phase of the bilayered hydrogel, and CH, SF, and ABG NPs were used together to construct the subchondral phase of the bilayer hydrogel. Rheological measurements showed that the optimally achieved gels assigned to the chondral and subchondral layers had their elastic moduli of around 6.5 and 9.9 kPa, respectively, with elastic modulus/viscous modulus ratios higher than 36, indicating that they behaved like strong gels. Compressive measurements further demonstrated that the bilayered hydrogel with an optimally formulated composition had strong, elastic, and tough characteristics. Cell culture revealed that the bilayered hydrogel had the capacity to support the in-growth of chondrocytes in the chondral phase and osteoblasts in the subchondral phase. Objectives: This study investigated the association between the decline of the decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) index and several family‐level and individual‐level factors among 6‐ to 18‐year‐old Taiwanese children from 2012 to 2020. Methods: This study used data from the 2012 and 2020 Taiwan National Oral Health Survey of Children and Adolescents. Both surveys used similar methods and were performed in the same study age group. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data on parents' sociodemographic background; the number of children in the family; oral health‐related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours; and children's dietary habits. Dental caries was recorded through standardized oral examinations. Multivariable multilevel zero‐inflated negative binomial regression models were used to determine the association between family‐level and individual‐level factors and the DMFT index from 2012 to 2020. Results: A total of 10 217 and 10 436 schoolchildren completed the oral examinations and questionnaires in the 2012 and 2020 surveys, respectively. The adjusted mean DMFT index of 12‐year‐old Taiwanese schoolchildren in 2020 was 2.01, denoting a significant decline from 2.50 in 2012 (adjusted mean ratio = 0.20, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.17, 0.23, p <.0001). Furthermore, children who often consumed sugar‐rich drinks had a significantly higher risk (mean ratio = 1.05, 95% CI = 1.01, 1.10) of having DMFT than those who seldom consumed such drinks (p =.017). Conclusions: In the period of 2012–2020, the DMFT index among Taiwanese children significantly declined. Children who often consumed sugar‐rich drinks had a higher DMFT index than those who seldom consumed such drinks. Prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) adversely affects the neurobiological and behavioral functions of offspring. Increasing evidence indicates that alcohol-use disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) commonly co-occur. Enhanced function of hyperpolarization-activated gated channel 1 (HCN1) may be involved in the pathogenesis of PTSD. This study aimed to explore the effect of PAE on fear extinction, spontaneous recovery, alcohol preference, and function of HCN1 channels in offspring of both sexes. The PAE model was established with a 20 % (m/V) ethanol solution, and offspring were treated with 0.5, 1, and 2 μg/mL ZD7288 to block the HCN1 channel. Behavioral tests were used to detect the mental state and fear of extinction of the mice. Western blot was used to detect HCN1 expression in the synaptosomes. The BDNF/TrkB-pmTOR pathway was also examined. ZD7288 administration ameliorated PAE-induced impairment of fear extinction and depression-like behavior. ZD7288 administration also alleviated PAE-induced inhibition of the HCN1 channel in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and the BDNF/TrkB-pmTOR pathway in the hippocampus of offspring. In addition, the therapeutic effect of ZD7288 in males was better than that in females. Overall, these results suggest that PAE enhances alcohol preference and susceptibility to PTSD through synaptic HCN1 channels in the PFC. In addition, ZD7288 may be a promising candidate for preventing alcohol-associated PTSD-like syndrome, particularly in males. The decay width of the D s ∗ meson is dominated by the electromagnetic mode D s ∗ → D s γ , and it is thus the longest-lived charged vector meson. In light of this point, we perform the first QCD LCSRs calculation of D s ∗ → ϕ helicity form factors and discuss the experiment potential of discovering exclusive D s ∗ weak decays. The main result is the partial decay widths, which read as Γ D s ∗ → l ν = 2.44 × 10 - 12 GeV , Γ D s ∗ → ϕ l ν = (3. 28 - 0.71 + 0.82) × 10 - 14 GeV , Γ D s ∗ → ϕ π = (3. 81 - 1.33 + 1.52) × 10 - 14 GeV and Γ D s ∗ → ϕ ρ = (1. 16 - 0.39 + 0.42) × 10 - 13 GeV . We show that these channels are promising in the near future, serving as the first experimental observation of weak decays of a vector meson, and would open up a new playground for precision test of the standard model. We consider the problem of estimating tail probabilities of random sums of scale mixture of phase-type distributions—a class of distributions corresponding to random variables which can be represented as a product of a non-negative but otherwise arbitrary random variable with a phase-type random variable. Our motivation arises from applications in risk, queueing problems for estimating ruin probabilities, and waiting time distributions, respectively. Mixtures of distributions are flexible models and can be exploited in modelling non-life insurance loss amounts. Classical rare-event simulation algorithms cannot be implemented in this setting because these methods typically rely on the availability of the cumulative distribution function or the moment generating function, but these are difficult to compute or are not even available for the class of scale mixture of phase-type distributions. The key to China's regional high-quality development lies in county-level coordination and promotion. Therefore, based on 2847 county-level administrative units in China, this paper uses empirical analysis methods such as dynamic spatial panel Dobbin model and intermediary effect model to study.Then we test the relationship between the industrial structure of county innovation capacity and regional development of high quality. The results showed that (1) the regional development of high quality at the county level in China was generally distributed in clusters, and the agglomeration had a further trend of strengthening. (2) The innovation ability and industrial structure also had a positive effect on the regional development of high quality at the county level, and the result was significant. (3) Innovation had both direct and indirect effects on regional development of high quality. Depression is a mental disease involving complex pathophysiological mechanisms, and there are many ways to establish depressive mouse models. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively compare the behavioral changes and its mechanism induced by two different models. This study established two depressive mouse models by maternal separation (MS) or lipopolysaccharide (LPS) administration, and added fluoxetine treatment group respectively for comparison. MS induced more apparent anxiety-like behavior while LPS induced more apparent depressive-like behavior. LPS increased peripheral inflammatory factors more apparent, which were mitigated by fluoxetine. MS inhibited the 5-HT system more obviously and was relieved by fluoxetine. LPS triggered stronger immune response in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex (PFC). MS significantly reduced the expression of neurotrophic proteins and was alleviated by fluoxetine. Overall, LPS induced stronger system inflammation, while MS impaired the function of HPA axis and 5-HT system. Our results will contribute to a deeper understanding of the pathophysiology of different stress-induced depression and will also help researchers select appropriate models of depression for their own needs. Ethanol, also known as alcohol, is one of the most common drinks in the world. Chronic ethanol exposure has been reported to induce mental disorders. Ethanol also has a strong effect on the gut microbiota. The gut microbiota has been reported to affect the brain via multiple pathways, including changes in γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) system, and cause a variety of mental disorders. The GABA system in the cortex is associated with anxiety. However, the role of gut microbiota played in ethanol exposure-induced changes in the GABA system and anxiety is still not clear. We established a 30-day ethanol exposure mouse model and investigated the effects of microbiota using the antibiotic minocycline. Minocycline alleviated ethanol-induced anxiety-like behaviour, dysbiosis of microbiota, intestinal barrier disruption, increased serum endotoxin and interleukin (IL)-6. Minocycline also attenuated ethanol-induced apoptosis and decreased expression of glutamate decarboxylases (GADs) and GABRA1 in the prefrontal cortex. Our results indicated that gut microbiota plays an important role in ethanol-induced anxiety-like behaviour by altering the function of GABA system. In addition, causal mediation analysis showed that endotoxin and IL-6 may mediate the connection between the gut microbiota and the expression of GABAA receptor in the prefrontal cortex. Township health centers play a cornerstone role in the primary healthcare in China while it's development is largely limited by the brain drain. Job satisfaction is closely related to brain drain, investigating the relevant factors of job satisfaction can provide strategies to reduce brain drain. This research was conducted in Huangpi, China. Convenience sampling methods and self-administereded questionnaires were used. We collected 1370 valid samples, with an effective rate of 97.72%. Descriptive statistics are used to describe sociodemographic information. The Pearson Chi-square statistical was used to test the binary association between job satisfaction and another categorical variable. All the sociodemographic information was applied to the binary logistic regression model using the stepwise selection method. The mean age was 36.98 (SD = 9.84), factors that affect job satisfaction include educational background (x2 = 7.99, p< 0.05), marital status (x2 = 8.96, p< 0.05, monthly income (x2 = 51.43, p< 0.01), hire form (x2 = 7.64, p< 0.05), hours worked per week (x2 = 33.48, p< 0.01), parent had a stable job (x2 = 10.65, p< 0.01). Government and management should consider the impact of current policies on job satisfaction. The application of organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells to drive off-grid microelectronic devices under indoor light has attracted broad attention. As organic semiconductors intrinsically have less ordered intermolecular packing than inorganic materials, the relatively larger energetic disorder is one of the main results that limit the photovoltaic efficiency of the OPV cells at low carrier density. Here, we optimize the alkyl chains of non-fullerene acceptors to get suppressed energetic disorder. We find the optimal acceptor DTz-R1 with the shortest alkyl chain has the strongest crystalline property and lowest energetic disorder. As a result, over 26% efficiency is recorded for the 1 cm2 OPV cells under a light-emitting diode illumination of 500 lux. We also fabricate a 100 cm2 cell device and get a PCE of 23.0%, which is an outstanding value for large-area OPV cells. Off-policy reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms are known for improving sample efficiency by employing prior experiences in experience replay memory. However, most existing off-policy RL algorithms are bottlenecked by the slow convergence speed and demand of a large number of interaction samples. In contrast, on-policy RL algorithms converge fast and continuously generate new samples. However, their success heavily depends on the accuracy of the generated samples. To address these challenges, a novel RL framework called HI-FER (H uman-learning I nspired F requent E xperience R eplay) is proposed by mimicking the process of human learning. HI-FER employs a parallelized experience replay and repetitive training framework to expedite the convergence rate of off-policy algorithms, which imitates the function of the human brain's parallel information processing and repetitive learning. Additionally, a periodic network reset strategy and dynamic memory updating are leveraged by imitating the forgetting mechanism of humans to prevent overfitting triggered by repetitive updating on limited experiences. Extensive comparison experiments and ablation studies are performed on benchmark environments to evaluate the proposed method. The empirical results demonstrate that HI-FER outperforms the baselines in terms of sample efficiency on state-based (14% improvements) and image-based (51% improvements) tasks from DMControl. To achieve highly efficient extraction of phosphorus (P) and comprehensive utilization of phosphate tailings, a two-stage leaching-precipitation method was proposed. Phosphate tailings primarily consisted of dolomite, fluorapatite, and quartz. During the first-stage leaching, the large majority of dolomite was selectively dissolved and the leaching efficiency of Mg reached 93.1 % at pH 2.0 and 60 °C. The subsequent second-stage leaching of fluorapatite was performed and the P leaching efficiency was 98.8 % at pH 1.5 and 20 °C, while the quartz remained in the residue. Through two-stage leaching, a stepwise leaching of dolomite and fluorapatite was achieved. After chemical precipitation, calcium phosphate with a high purity of 97.9 % was obtained; and the total recovery efficiency of P exceeded 98 %. The obtained calcium phosphate can be a raw material in the phosphorus chemical industry, while the Mg-rich leachate and the final quartz-rich residue have the potential for Mg extraction and the production of mortars or geopolymers, respectively. The two-stage leaching-precipitation process could significantly reduce the leaching costs, and enhance the reaction rates. The aim was to unveil the generation and variation rule of the main taste components in braised broth for 10 quantitative repeated braising cycles. The major taste compounds of three groups (MS, broth cooked with meat and spices; M, broth cooked with meat; and S, broth cooked with spices) were systematically analyzed by the state‐of‐art chromatography and electronic sensory technology. As braising cycles progressed, contents of free 5′‐nucleotides and amino acids were increased in MS and M, while those nucleotides were not detected in S. A significant discrimination of taste in MS and M was revealed by electronic tongue evaluation during the process. As the formation rates (FR) of taste compounds and the transformation rates (TR) of taste compounds to volatile compounds were mainly accounting for the generation and variation of flavor in broth, a hypothesis was proposed to illustrate the whole variation of taste compounds in the process integrally that the ratio of FR/TR dividing the process into three stages, Degradation, Balance, and Accumulation. Practical applications: The traditional braising process and formula are empirical and extensive, which impede the increase in meat products output. Nowadays, the industry of braising products is facing a problem of standardization and quality control, and needs to carry out scientific and quantitative process improvement efficiently. Yolk proteins are the main source of nutrients during embryonic and early larval development in oviparous animals. Therefore, vitellogenesis is crucial for reproduction. The silkworm, Bombyx mori, is a model lepidopteran insect in which there are three yolk proteins: vitellin, 30‐kDa protein, and egg‐specific protein (Esp). In this study, we explored the gene function of Esp through transgenic clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats (CRISPR) / CRISPR‐associated protein 9 technology‐mediated mutations in the silkworm. We found that Esp mutation resulted in female sterility but had no effect on male fertility. Female mutants could lay eggs after mating, but the eggs were smaller and lighter colored than those laid by wild‐type females. The most important finding is that the eggs laid by female mutants did not hatch. Furthermore, we observed stable inheritance of female sterility caused by Esp mutation through successive generations. Phase change materials (PCMs) have the potential for heat storage and release, but low thermal conductivity limits their wide application in thermal systems. This work proposes a mathematical model to simulate the freezing process of water in porous media. Unlike traditional methods that solve for two temperatures in different materials, the hybrid finite element method computes a single temperature satisfying the jump on the interface. The effect of contact thermal resistance and skeleton parameters on solid-liquid phase change heat transfer was investigated. This model was validated by experiments in reference. Results show that increased contact thermal resistance decreases temperature gradient, phase interface deflection and freezing rate. Specifically, with contact thermal resistance of 0.0001 K/W, 0.0005 K/W, and 0.001 K/W, freezing rates decrease by 36.4 %, 52.35 %, and 54.14 %, respectively, compared to the case without resistance. Although the contact thermal resistance reduced the temperature gradient, it stabilized the phase change process. Moreover, higher thermal conductivity of the skeleton enhances the freezing rate. However, after a certain value is reached, the rate increases only marginally. Skeletons with lower density and specific heat capacity are favorable to enhancing phase change heat transfer. Chemical oxo-precipitation (COP) is an enhanced precipitation method for boron removal with the conversion of boric acid to perborate anions. When using barium-based precipitant, the boron can be effectively precipitated as barium perborates (BaPBs). The phase transformation of BaPBs from amorphous (A-BaPB, Ba(B(OH) 3 OOH) 2) to crystalline (C–BaPB, BaB 2 (OO) 2 (OH) 4) form is crucial for effective boron removal. However, scaling up this phase transformation of BaPBs is hindered by poor diffusion. This study aims to promote the growth of C–BaPB through seed-induced crystal growth, eliminating the need for phase transformation. By examining the relationship between crystal growth rate and supersaturation, surface spiral growth was identified as the rate-limiting step of the growth of micron-sized seeds near pH pzc. To enable continuous crystal growth, granular seeds of C–BaPB were prepared and employed as the medium for fluidized-bed crystallization (FBC). The system reached steady state 3 hydraulic retention times, achieving 90% boron removal. The effect of surface loading, ionic strength, and dosages on steady-state crystal growth rate was studied, revealing a shift of the rate-limiting step in FBC to diffusion. Lastly, the system that constituted of two FBCs in-series for sequential crystallization of A-BaPB and C–BaPB was demonstrated. The integrated system provided 97.8% of boron removal from synthetic wastewater containing 500 mg-B/L, with 92.3% of boron crystallized on the granular seeds of BaPBs. It has been known that spin-dependent capacitances usually coexist with geometric capacitances in a magnetic multilayer. However, the charge and energy storage of the capacitance due to spin accumulation (SA) has not been fully understood. Here, we resolve this problem starting from the charge storage in the spin degree of freedom: spin accumulation manifests itself as an excess of electrons in one spin channel and an equal deficiency in the other under the quasi-neutrality condition. This enables us to model the two spin channels as the two plates of a capacitor. Taking a ferromagnet/ nonmagnet junction as an example and using a method similar to that for treating quantum capacitance, we find that an SA capacitance can be introduced for each layer to measure its ability to store spins. A spatial charge storage is not essential for the SA capacitor and the energy stored in it is the splitting energy of the spin-dependent chemical potentials instead of the electrostatic energy. The SA capacitance is essentially a quantum capacitance due to spin accumulation on the scale of the spin-diffusion length. In latent heat storage, certain non phase change materials (non-PCMs) with high thermal conductivity are incorporated into the phase change materials (PCMs) with the aim of enhancing the efficiency of heat/cold storage. We term this type of non-PCMs as 'enhancer', which includes materials like graphite and copper foam, usually with a complex skeleton structure (He et al., 2023 [1] ; Yang et al., 2018 [2]).In this article, we propose a phase field model to describe the solidification and melting phenomena of PCMs with enhancer from a microscopic point of view. Our model is governed by the energy equation coupled with the Allen–Cahn equation. A penalty technique is applied in the Allen–Cahn equation to describe the complex structure of the non-PCMs. We use the concept of thermal resistance to define the boundary condition on the contact interface of two materials to ensure the temperature jump. Thanks to the hybrid dual formulation, the temperature can be solved as a monolithic function while satisfying the temperature jump on the material interface. In temporal discretization, a numerical scheme is developed to decouple the phase field from the temperature. In the spatial discretization, the hybrid finite element method, the Raviart–Thomas (RT0) and P0 elements are used to solve the temperature, to satisfy the temperature jump on the interface. Simulations are performed using the open source finite element software FreeFem++. To improve computational efficiency, under the framework of FreeFem++, the mesh refinement is conducted by the Mmg module, and the parallelization is performed by the domain decomposition library ffddm. 2D and 3D simulations are carried out for both melting and solidification processes of a fossil-based organic PCM, CRODATHERM60 in the graphite skeleton on different porous structures to validate our model. Background: This population-based cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of oral mucosal lesions (OMLs) in children in a rural area in China as epidemiological data on these conditions from such areas are insufficient. Methods: A total of 3145 children in Xiangyun of Yunnan were enrolled. A socio-economic questionnaire and a field survey of OMLs were administered. We gathered information on factors (sex, age, caregiver, parental education, and last-month household income) that might be associated with OMLs in these children. Results: OMLs in children in Xiangyun of Yunnan had a prevalence of 1.8% (95% CI; 1.3–2.3%). The most prevalent OML was oral ulcer (n = 11; 18.3%), followed by linea alba (n = 10; 16.7%), whereas the least prevalent OMLs were frenal tag (n = 1; 1.7%) and herpes labialis (n = 1; 1.7%). On unadjusted or adjusted regression, school-aged children had about 50% lower risk of OMLs than preschoolers. Conclusions: These findings indicate that the prevalence of OMLs in Xiangyun of Yunnan is lower than previously reported. Colorectal cancer (CRC), a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract, has a high incidence and mortality rate. Several recent studies have found that aging is associated with the increasing risk of cancer. Nevertheless, the expression status and function of age-related genes in CRC is still not well understood. In the study, we comprehensively analyzed the gene expression data of CRC patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Age-related differential expression genes (age-related DEGs) in tumor tissues compared with normal tissues of CRC were further identified. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses of age-related DEGs were performed by clusterProfiler of R. Afterwards, we used the STRING database to map the protein–protein interaction network of DEGs. We constructed prognostic model through univariate and multivariate COX regression analyses, and further evaluated their predictive power. The prognostic gene signature-related functional pathways were explored by gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA). The weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was used to identify key module associated with two prognostic gene signatures. Finally, we used the Metascape to perform functional enrichment analysis of genes in the key module. A total of 279 age-related DEGs were identified from the TCGA database. GO and KEGG enrichment analysis showed that the age-related DEGs were enriched in the Modulation of chemical synaptic transmission and Neuroactive ligand–receptor interaction. Moreover, we established a novel age-related gene signature (DLX2 and PCOLCE2) for overall survival in CRC, which was further predicted in both the training and validation sets. The results of GSEA demonstrated that numerous disease-related pathways were enriched in the high-risk group. We identified 43 genes related to the DLX2 and PCOLCE2 by the WGCNA co-expression network. We also found that these 43 genes were enriched in the cancer-related pathways. To sum up, the study identified an age-related gene signature for predicting the prognosis of CRC patients, which is conducive to the identification of novel prognostic molecular markers. Transition metal oxide (TMO) anodes show inferior sodium ion storage performance compared with that of lithium ion storage owing to the larger radium size and heavier elemental mass of Na+ than Li+. Effective strategies are highly desired to improve the Na+ storage performance of TMOs for applications. In this work, using ZnFe2O4@xC nanocomposites as model materials for investigation, we found that by manipulating the particle sizes of the inner TMOs core and the features of outer carbon coating, the Na+ storage performance can be significantly improved. The ZnFe2O4@1C with a diameter of the inner ZnFe2O4 core of around 200 nm coated by a thin carbon layer of around 3 nm shows a specific capacity of only 120 mA h g−1. The ZnFe2O4@6.5C with a diameter of the inner ZnFe2O4 core of around 110 nm embedding in a porous interconnected carbon matrix displays a significantly improved specific capacity of 420 mA h g−1 at the same specific current. Furthermore, the latter shows an excellent cycling stability of 1000 cycles with a capacity retention of 90% of the initial 220 mA h g−1 specific capacity at 1.0 A g−1. TEM, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and kinetic analysis show that the inner ZnFe2O4 core with reduced particle size and the outer thicker and interconnected carbon matrix synergistically improve the active reaction sites, integrity, electric conductivity, and pseudocapacitive-controlled contribution of ZnFe2O4@xC nanocomposites, thus leading to an overall enhanced Na+ storage performance. A new pyrone derivative 11-hydroxypyrophen (1), together with pyrophen (2) and six naphtho-γ-pyrones (3–8), were obtained from the culture extract of Aspergillus niger Pas67. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activities against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Compounds 4 and 8 showed significant antibacterial activity against MRSA with minimum inhibitory concentration values (MICs) of 25 and 16 μg/mL, while compounds 1 and 2 did not display anti-MRSA activity. There has been a significant increase of international students in Australian social work education over the past decade. Issues around international students' language skills, cultural capital or competence, special needs and field education experiences have been explored in social work literature. However, the literature to date has a tendency to focus on international students' deficits, or the strategies implemented to address the identified deficits. Professional identity, a critical aspect of social work education, remains an under-researched topic in international students. Professional identity development in social work is often considered a complex process which is influenced by interacting internal or external factors. For example, personal or cultural identities can contribute to professional identity development in social work students in general, while discrimination or institutional oppression is found to negatively affect professional identity development in social work students. Intersectionality sees a person's identity as fluid and multifold, and offers a useful framework for understanding identity issues in international students. Applying the concept of intersectionality, this meta-ethnography reviews six qualitative studies, guided by the seven phrases established by Noblit and Hare. The findings show professional identity development in international students can be influenced by interacting personal, linguistic, professional, academic, cultural and social factors. An intersecting model incorporating the six identified key themes was developed to provide a conceptual framework for professional identity development in international social work students. Asphalt binder is the main material for road pavement and building construction. It is a complex mixture composed of a large number of hydrocarbons with different molecular weights. The study of asphalt binders and asphalt concretes from a molecular perspective is an important means to understand the intricate properties of asphalt. Molecular dynamics simulation is based on Newton's law and predicts the microscopic performance of materials by calculating the intra- and intermolecular interactions. The asphalt binder can be divided into four components: saturates, aromatics, resins, and asphaltenes (SARA). A new molecular model of asphalt was proposed and verified in this study. Eight molecules selected from the literature were used to represent the four components of asphalt. The AMBER Cornell Extension Force Field was applied in this study to model building and the calculation of properties. The density of the asphalt model was calculated and compared with experimental results for validity verifications. The results show that the purposed model can be used to calculate the microscopic properties of the asphalt binder because the density of the model is close to the real value in the field. Besides, the proportions of different molecules in the model were adjusted to predict the relationship between the asphalt binder density and the hydrocarbon ratios and heteroatom contents of the molecular model. Moreover, the glass transition temperature of the asphalt binder model is predicted by the simulation of the heating process. The range of the glass transition temperature is determined by calculating the relationship between specific volume and temperature, and the calculated range is close to the experimental value. Apatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor specifically targeting VEGFR2, has been increasingly reported as a treatment for osteosarcoma with promising outcome parameters, but there has been no systematic analysis of the treatment of osteosarcoma by apatinib.Methods: A single-arm meta-analysis was performed, and published literature from PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, CNKI and Wan Fang databases as of March 1, 2021 was systematically retrieved. Quality assessment is carried out in accordance with a 20 item checklist form prepared by the Institute of Health Economics (IHE). Double arcsine transformation is performed to stabilize the variance of the original ratio. When I2 > 50%, the random effect model is used to calculate the pooled parameters; otherwise, the fixed effect model is used. We conducted subgroup analysis according to age and apatinib dose.Results: This meta-analysis included 11 studies of 356 Chinese patients with osteosarcoma. The pooled objective remission rate (ORR) of advanced or metastatic osteosarcoma treated by oral apatinib in Chinese patients was 0.27(95%CI = 0.18-0.38). The pooled disease control rate (DCR) was 0.57 (95%CI = 0.42-0.72). The pooled median progression-free survival (mPFS) and median total survival (mOS) were 5.18 months (95%CI = 4.03-6.33) and 10.87 months (95% CI = 9.40-12.33), respectively. More than 70% of adverse reactions were mild, the most common adverse reaction was hand-foot syndrome (HFMD), with an incidence of 0.46 (95%CI = 0.35-0.58), the second was hypertension, with an incidence of 0.40 (95%CI = 0.29-0.51).Conclusions: The efficacy of apatinib in the treatment of osteosarcoma is competitive with current evidence, and it is worth noting that its low cost can significantly improve patient compliance and increase therapeutic value. Background: As a special medicinal plant in Xinjiang province, Elaeagnus angustifolia L. plays an important role in windbreak and sand fixation. Its leaves are widely used in the field of traditional Chinese medicine treatment, mainly including diarrhea, dysentery, coronary heart disease and arrhythmia. Objective: In this study, our primary goal was to understand the mechanism of action of Elaeagnus angustifolia L. leaves (EALs) in protecting Rat Schwann cells (RSC-96) against H2O2-induced oxidative stress. Materials and Methods: The study material, EALs, was collected from Xinjiang Province in China. RSC-96 cells were stimulated by H2O2. Cell Counting Kit-8 assay was used in the detection of cell viability, and the cellular apoptosis and reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were assessed by flow cytometry. The level of nerve growth factor (NGF) was assayed through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the expression of p-Akt BAX, PI3K, Bcl-2, and Akt was analyzed by Western blot. In addition, we detected the expression level of NGF. Results: According to our results, its levels were increased after stimulation with H2O2, but the levels of ROS and apoptosis were found to be reduced. Simultaneously, after induction with H2O2, the expression of Bcl-2, PI3K, p-Akt, and Akt was increased due to the presence of EALs extract, but the expression level of BAX was reduced. According to our results, EALs protects RSC-96 cells from hydrogen peroxide stress and its antiapoptotic and antioxidant effects are mainly mediated through PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Conclusion: EALs extracts protected RSC-96 cells against H2O2-induced oxidative stress by exerting antioxidative and antiapoptotic effects through PI3K/Akt signaling pathways. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Elucidating hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) mechanisms in alkaline conditions is vital for understanding and improving the efficiency of anion‐exchange‐membrane fuel cells. However, uncertainty remains around the alkaline HOR mechanism owing to a lack of direct in situ evidence of intermediates. In this study, in situ electrochemical surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and DFT were used to study HOR processes on PtNi alloy and Pt surfaces, respectively. Spectroscopic evidence indicates that adsorbed hydroxy species (OHad) were directly involved in HOR processes in alkaline conditions on the PtNi alloy surface. However, OHad species were not observed on the Pt surface during the HOR. We show that Ni doping promoted hydroxy adsorption on the platinum‐alloy catalytic surface, improving the HOR activity. DFT calculations also suggest that the free energy was decreased by hydroxy adsorption. van der Waals heterostructures (vdWHs) based on two-dimensional (2D) materials have been extensively recognized as promising candidates for fabricating multi-functional novel devices. In this work, we investigated the structural and electronic properties of the InS–arsenene vdWH in some detail by using the first principles calculation method to explore its potential application in nanoelectronics. Numerical results show that the InS–arsenene vdWH possesses a stable structure, excellent flexibility, high carrier mobility and direct band gap semiconducting behavior. In particular, its electronic properties can be regulated effectively by vertical strain, in-plane strain and an external electric field. Vertical strain can tune the band gap of the semiconducting vdWH in a wide range with stable type-II band alignment. However, in-plane strain and an external electric field can even realize phase transitions from semiconducting to metallic behaviors, which implies great application potential of the InS–arsenene vdWH in multi-purpose nanoelectronic devices, optoelectronic devices and tunnel field-effect transistors (TFETs). The tectonic setting of Indosinian magmatism in West Qinling Orogen and the tectonic evolution of the Paleo-Tethys remain hotly debated. Here we present SHRIMP zircon U Pb dating, major-trace elemental and Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf isotopic data for four granitic and gabbroic plutons across the eastern West Qinling Orogen, from north to south including Guanshan, Fengxian, Mishuling and Miba. Our new data indicate that the Fengxian granitoids, emplaced at 238 Ma in a continental arc setting, show adakitic affinity and were formed by partial melting of subducted sediments. The southern Guanshan granitoids, emplaced at 235–229 Ma in a continental arc setting, also show adakitic affinity but were generated by partial melting of thickened (>50 km) lower crust. The northern Guanshan granites and gabbros were emplaced at 217–216 Ma in a back-arc setting, with the former generated by partial melting of normal (40–50 km) lower crust and the latter derived from asthenospheric mantle. The Mishuling granitic pluton contains abundant mafic microgranular enclaves, both emplaced at 214 Ma in a back-arc setting with the host granitoids formed by partial melting of normal (40–50 km) lower crust and the enclave magmas derived from asthenospheric-lithospheric mantle. The Miba granitoids, emplaced at 216 Ma in a continental arc setting, show adakitic affinity and were generated by partial melting of thickened (>50 km) lower crust. We suggest that the Paleo-Tethyan oceanic crust had subducted near the Shangdan suture by 238 Ma and successively advanced northward, approaching southeastern Qilian Orogen at 235–229 Ma. Then slab rollback initiated and gradually migrated southward. The slab subduction did not cease before 214 Ma. • We have investigated four Triassic granitic-gabbroic plutons in West Qinling Orogen. • The granitoids formed in a continental-arc setting during the Ladinian-Carnian. • The granitoids, enclaves and gabbros formed in a back-arc setting during the Norian. • The origin of these rocks recorded the Paleo-Tethyan oceanic crust advance to retreat.
