Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) battery is one of the most promising next-generation energy storage systems. Nevertheless, owing to the high solubility of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) in the ether-based electrolyte, plenty of LiPSs shuttle between cathode and anode under an electric field. This shuttle effect corrodes the lithium metal, and thus causes serious capacity fading, which is regarded as a major barrier to the commercial application of Li–S batteries. Engineering the surficial structure of nanomaterials can promote affinity between cathode and LiPSs, while simultaneously facilitating redox kinetics of LiPSs, leading to a low concentration of LiPSs in electrolyte for restraining the shuttle effect. Herein, we review recent progress in manipulating the electronic structure of nanomaterials featuring high conductivity, strong absorption and catalytic properties for Li–S batteries. We first discuss the mechanism of the conversion of LiPSs with different pathways. Moreover, we showcase the design strategies of nanomaterials with the modulated surface, including heterostructures, deficiency strategy, heteroatom-doping strategy and metal-single-atom catalyst. Future perspectives and challenges are also proposed for constructing stable Li–S batteries with high energy density.

The new technological revolution with information technology as the core has not only promoted the development of information weapons and equipment, but also it has accelerated the transformation of war to information. Firstly, this paper analyzes the profound impact of information weapons and equipment on modern warfare and it discusses the new changes from four aspects: combat concept, combat field, combat mode and combat theory. Secondly, the paper also analyzes the development trend of information weapons and equipment, and it believes that there will be development in four directions: intelligence, systematization, new fields and military civilian integration. The article holds that only by fully mastering the application and development law of information weapons and equipment can we build an information army and win the future information war.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world, and non-coding RNA (ncRNA) has recently been widely reported to participate in the development of NSCLC. Some ncRNAs, especially microRNAs (miRNAs), are widely reported as tumor drug targets due to their short transcript length and easiness for processing into small molecule compounds. Therefore, exploring the potential roles of specific miRNAs in NSCLC may provide a better understanding of the molecular etiology. In this study, we downloaded the large-scale RNA-seq data from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, and identified 211 differentially expressed miRNAs (121 up-regulated and 90 down-regulated) in NSCLC. Similar to the TCGA database, miR-182-5p was significantly up-regulated in the serum and tissue samples of NSCLC patients. Clinicopathological parameters revealed the positive correlation between miR-182-5p expression and advanced TNM stage. Functional tests showed miR-182-5p overexpression promoted cell proliferation, migration and apoptosis inhibition, while miR-182-5p knockdown weakened the above phenotypes. Besides, advanced glycosylation end-product specific receptor (AGER) was identified as a direct downstream target of miR-182-5p. Alteration of AGER expression or NF-κB inhibitor could partially counteract the bioactive roles induced by miR-182-5p overexpression or knockdown. Further study disclosed down-regulated LINC00173 was negatively corrected with miR-182-5p in NSCLC tissues. LINC00173 could regulate miR-182-5p expression and reversed functional behaviors mediated by miR-182-5p/AGER/NF-κB axis. Taken together, miR-182-5p mediated the malignant phenotypes through NF-κB pathway via targeting AGER, and LINC00173 acted as a potential negative regulator of miR-182-5p in NSCLC cells.
