The effective integration of ecosystem services (ESs) and urban growth simulation is crucial for spatial planning decisions that support sustainable and high-quality development. Interactions (i.e., trade-offs, synergies, and irrelevance) generally exist among ESs, however, few studies have been done on the methodology for simulating urban growth that optimizes the synergistic effect of ESs. In this study, the Wuhan metropolitan area was taken as the research area. Four key ESs in 2000, 2010, and 2020: water yield (WY), carbon storage (CS), habitat quality (HQ), and soil retention (SR) were evaluated by using the InVEST model. Then the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) method was applied to optimally allocate ESs trade-offs and identify ecological priority protection areas (EPPAs). Finally, the PLUS model was used to simulate urban growth scenarios under different levels of ESs protection constraints and propose spatial planning strategies. The results revealed the following. (1) From 2000 to 2020, the three ESs (i.e., WY, CS, and HQ) exhibited the spatial distribution pattern with high in the east and low in the west, and higher in the woodland than in built-up areas, except SR, which remained at a weak level throughout the region. (2) During the 20 years, SR and the other three ESs, HQ and CS showed a synergistic relationship; WY exhibited a very weak trade-off with HQ; and WY and CS changed from a very weak trade-off to a weak synergy. (3) Seven ecosystem service patterns (ESPs) were generated, and ESP 5 was compared as the ideal option. The weights of SR, WY, CS, and HQ in this pattern were 0.063, 0.187, 0.313, and 0.437, respectively. (4) By 2030, the built-up areas will exhibit edge expansion and interconnection development trends, with the high-constraint ecological protection scenario as the most compact mode, and the spatial structure of “two districts, one axis, four cities as one” is consistent with the development tendency. Our findings can help to enrich the method of urban growth management oriented by ecological protection, and provide a scientific basis for ecological environment restoration and land use spatial planning practices.

Abstract Volatile solid additives have attracted increasing attention in optimizing the morphology and improving the performance of currently dominated non‐fullerene acceptor‐based organic solar cells (OSCs). However, the underlying principles governing the rational design of volatile solid additives remain elusive. Herein, a series of efficient volatile solid additives are successfully developed by the crossbreeding effect of chalcogenation and iodination for optimizing the morphology and improving the photovoltaic performances of OSCs. Five benzene derivatives of 1,4‐dimethoxybenzene (DOB), 1‐iodo‐4‐methoxybenzene (OIB), 1‐iodo‐4‐methylthiobenzene (SIB), 1,4‐dimethylthiobenzene (DSB) and 1,4‐diiodobenzene (DIB) are systematically studied, where the widely used DIB is used as the reference. The effect of chalcogenation and iodination on the overall property is comprehensively investigated, which indicates that the versatile functional groups provided various types of noncovalent interactions with the host materials for modulating the morphology. Among them, SIB with the combination of sulphuration and iodination enabled more appropriate interactions with the host blend, giving rise to a highly ordered molecular packing and more favorable morphology. As a result, the binary OSCs based on PM6:L8‐BO and PBTz‐F:L8‐BO as well as the ternary OSCs based on PBTz‐F:PM6:L8‐BO achieved impressive high PCEs of 18.87%, 18.81% and 19.68%, respectively, which are among the highest values for OSCs.

Abstract Background The ascomycetous heterothallic yeast Wickerhamomyces anomalus (WA) has received considerable attention and has been widely reported in the winemaking industry for its distinctive physiological traits and metabolic attributes. An increased concentration of ethanol during ethanol fermentation, however, causes ethanol stress (ES) on the yeast cells. Trehalose has been implicated in improving survival under various stress conditions in microorganisms. Herein, we determined the effects of trehalose supplementation on the survival, differentially expressed genes (DEGs), cellular morphology, and oxidative stress tolerance of WA in response to ES. Results The results indicated that trehalose improved the survival and anomalous surface and ultrastructural morphology of WA. Additionally, trehalose improved redox homeostasis by reducing the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inducing the activities of antioxidant enzymes. In addition, DEGs affected by the application of trehalose were enriched in these categories including in gene expression, protein synthesis, energy metabolism, and cell cycle pathways. Additionally, trehalose increased the content of intracellular malondialdehyde (MDA) and adenosine triphosphate. Conclusions These results reveal the protective role of trehalose in ES mitigation and strengthen the possible uses of WA in the wine fermentation sector.

Urban agglomerations are important spatial carriers for regional economic development, but sustained urban expansion has triggered a series of issues such as conflicts between “people and land” and “built-up areas and green spaces”. However, many studies have rarely incorporated spatiotemporal patterns and driving mechanism into scenario simulation of urban growth, and has also overlooked subsequent discussions on the specific integration of simulation results with spatial planning. Considering the case of Min Delta Region, this study analyzes the spatiotemporal evolution of urban expansion based on multi-source data and explore the influential driving mechanism using Random forest algorithm. A combination of Markov and FLUS models was used to dynamically simulate future urban growth patterns. The results showed that 1) From 1995 to 2015, the urban expansion increased by 2.26 times, showing a trend of first accelerating and then slowing down. It was also discovered that there is an anisotropy toward expansion in the trajectory of urban growth. 2) With marginal increase and enclave increase, general urban expansion was observed to be changing from diffusion to agglomeration, and the urban expansion hotspots mainly located in the southeast coastal area. 3) Humanistic links, geographic position, social and economic considerations all played a role in the development of the Min Delta region, and can be summarized as the “four forces” driving mechanism model. 4) By 2035, the trend of continuous development with the Min Delta built-up area as the main body will be basically formed, and incorporating ecological restrictions can effectively restrain urban growth's encroachment into ecological spaces. Based on the simulation results, Min Delta region gradually showing a spatial structure evolution trend from the single core to the dual core mode, and then to the multi-center and networked mode. This study would serve as a multi-angle decision-making reference for regional spatial and ecological protection planning and urban growth management, and as a scientific foundation for high-quality development planning in the region.

Fire and smoke detection is crucial for the safe mining of coal energy, but previous fire-smoke detection models did not strike a perfect balance between complexity and accuracy, which makes it difficult to deploy efficient fire-smoke detection in coal mines with limited computational resources. Therefore, we improve the current advanced object detection model YOLOv8s based on two core ideas: (1) we reduce the model computational complexity and ensure real-time detection by applying faster convolutions to the backbone and neck parts; (2) to strengthen the model's detection accuracy, we integrate attention mechanisms into both the backbone and head components. In addition, we improve the model's generalization capacity by augmenting the data. Our method has 23.0% and 26.4% fewer parameters and FLOPs (Floating-Point Operations) than YOLOv8s, which means that we have effectively reduced the computational complexity. Our model also achieves a mAP (mean Average Precision) of 91.0%, which is 2.5% higher than the baseline model. These results show that our method can improve the detection accuracy while reducing complexity, making it more suitable for real-time fire-smoke detection in resource-constrained environments.

Abstract Background Wickerhamomyces anomalus (W. anomalus) is a kind of non-Saccharomyces yeast that has a variety of unique physiological characteristics and metabolic features and is widely used in many fields, such as food preservation, biomass energy, and aquaculture feed protein production. However, the mechanism of W. anomalus response to ethanol stress is still unclear, which greatly limits its application in the production of ethanol beverages and ethanol fuels. Therefore, we checked the effects of ethanol stress on the morphology, the growth, and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and metabolites (DEMs) of W. anomalus. Results High concentrations of ethanol (9% ethanol and 12% ethanol) remarkably inhibited the growth of W. anomalus. Energy metabolism, amino acid metabolism, fatty acids metabolism, and nucleic acid metabolism were significantly influenced when exposing to 9% ethanol and 12% ethanolstress, which maybe universal for W. anomalus to response to different concentrations of ethanol stressl Furthermore, extracellular addition of aspartate, glutamate, and arginine significantly abated ethanol damage and improved the survival rate of W. anomalus. Conclusions The results obtained in this study provide insights into the mechanisms involved in W. anomalus response to ethanol stress. Therefore, new strategies can be realized to improve the ethanol tolerance of W. anomalus through metabolic engineering.

Ethanol tolerance is crucial for the oenological yeasts. Rosa roxburghii Tratt, a Rosaceae plant native to China, is rich in nutritional and medicinal ingredients. In this study, ethanol-tolerant non-Saccharomyces yeasts were screened, and their oenological properties were further evaluated. Three ethanol-tolerant yeast strains (designated as C6, F112, and F15), which could tolerate 12% (v/v) ethanol treatment, were isolated from R. roxburghii, and identified as Candida tropicalis, Pichia guilliermondii, and Wickerhamomyces anomalus, respectively. The winemaking condition tolerances of these ethanol-tolerant yeast strains were similar to those of Saccharomyces cerevisiae X16. However, their growth, sugar metabolic performance and sulphureted hydrogen activities, were different. The β-glucosidase production ability of strain W. anomalus F15 was lower than that of S. cerevisiae X16, and strains of C. tropicalis C6 and P. guilliermondii F112 were similar to S. cerevisiae X16. Electronic sensory properties of the R. roxburghii wines fermented using ethanol-tolerant yeasts together with S. cerevisiae showed no significant differences. However, the mixed inoculation of the ethanol-tolerant yeast strains with S. cerevisiae could regulate the volatile aroma characteristics of the fermented R. roxburghii wine, enriching and enhancing the aroma flavor. Therefore, the selected ethanol-tolerant yeasts have the potential for application in the production of unique R. roxburghii wine.

Microfluidic devices are composed of microchannels with a diameter ranging from ten to a few hundred micrometers. Thus, quite a small (10 ^−9 –10 ^−18 l) amount of liquid can be manipulated by such a precise system. In the past three decades, significant progress in materials science, microfabrication, and various applications has boosted the development of promising functional microfluidic devices. In this review, the recent progress on novel microfluidic devices with various functions and applications is presented. First, the theory and numerical methods for studying the performance of microfluidic devices are briefly introduced. Then, materials and fabrication methods of functional microfluidic devices are summarized. Next, the recent significant advances in applications of microfluidic devices are highlighted, including heat sinks, clean water production, chemical reactions, sensors, biomedicine, capillaric circuits, wearable electronic devices, and microrobotics. Finally, perspectives on the challenges and future developments of functional microfluidic devices are presented. This review aims to inspire researchers from various fields—engineering, materials, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and more—to collaborate and drive forward the development and applications of functional microfluidic devices, specifically for achieving carbon neutrality.

Music therapy is a common method to relieve anxiety and pain in cancer patients after surgery in recent years, but due to the lack of technical and algorithmic support, this therapy is not particularly stable and the therapeutic effect is not good. In this study, a neural network robotic system based on breast cancer patients was designed to analyze the effect of music relaxation training on alleviating adverse reactions after chemotherapy in breast cancer patients. Firstly, this paper introduces the necessity of neural network robot system research under the background of music therapy, and then summarizes the positive effect of music relaxation therapy on alleviating adverse reactions after chemotherapy in breast cancer patients, finally, uses neural network robot system to construct music therapy system. The experimental results show that the new music therapy proposed in this study has a good effect in alleviating the adverse reactions of breast cancer patients after chemotherapy, and the cure rate is increased by 7.84%. The research results of this paper provide reference for the next development of neural network robot system in the medical field.

Wickerhamomyces anomalus (W. anomalus) is widely reported in the brewing industry and has positive effects on the aromatic profiles of wines because of its unique physiological characteristics and metabolic features. However, the accumulation of ethanol during fermentation inhibits the growth of W. anomalus. Thiamine is involved in the response against various abiotic stresses in microorganisms. Therefore, we used transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses to study the effect of thiamine on ethanol-stressed W. anomalus. The results indicate that thiamine could alleviate the inhibitory effect of ethanol stress on the survival of W. anomalus. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and differentially expressed metabolites (DEMs) caused by the thiamine intervention were identified as oxidative phosphorylation through integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses. In addition, ethanol treatment decreased the content of intracellular adenosine triphosphate (ATP), while thiamine partially alleviated this phenomenon. The present comprehensive transcriptional overview and metabolomic analysis provide insights about the mechanisms of thiamine protection on W. anomalus under ethanol stress and promote the potential applications of W. anomalus in the fermentation industry.

BackgroundAtezolizumab was first shown to significantly improve progression-free survival (PFS) after platinum-based chemotherapy in early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the IMpower010 Phase 3 trial. However, the cost-effectiveness and potential economic impact of atezolizumab treatment in Chinese patients are unknown.MethodsMarkov models were constructed based on follow-up data from the IMpower010 trial and assessed separately in the programmed cell death receptor ligand-1 (PD-L1) tumor cells (TC) ≥ 1% stage II – IIIA group, all stage II – IIIA groups, and the intention-to-treat (ITT) group (stage IB–IIIA). Efficacy and safety data were obtained from the IMpower010 trial, and costs and utility values were derived from the literature and local surveys to estimate their incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICERs) compared with willingness-to-pay (WTP) thresholds in scenarios implementing patient assistance programs (PAP) or drug price negotiations. Univariate sensitivity analysis and probabilistic sensitivity analysis (PSA) were performed to investigate the stability of the model results.ResultsCompared with best supportive care (BSC), atezolizumab produced an additional 0.45 quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs), 0.04 QALYs, and -0.0028 QALYs in the PD-L1 TC ≥ 1% stage II – IIIA group, all stage II – IIIA groups, and the ITT group, and the ICERs were 108,825.37/QALY, 1,028,538.22/QALY, and -14,381,171.55/QALY, respectively. The ICERs all exceeded the WTP threshold of $27,354 per QALY (three times the per capita gross domestic product of China in 2022), and univariate sensitivity analysis showed that the price of atezolizumab played a crucial role in the model results. PSA showed that the probability of cost-effectiveness of atezolizumab in the PD-L1 TC ≥ 1% stage II – IIIA group, all stage II – IIIA groups, and the ITT group increased with the increasing WTP threshold.ConclusionFrom the perspective of China’s health care system, in the PD-L1 TC ≥ 1% stage II – IIIA group, all stage II – IIIA groups, and the ITT group, the use of atezolizumab in the adjuvant treatment of patients with early-stage NSCLC after platinum-based chemotherapy is unlikely to be cost-effective. The implementation of PAP or price reduction negotiations for atezolizumab might be among the most effective measures to improve its cost-effectiveness.

To conduct an accurate and reliable airport delay prediction will provide an important basis for the macro control of an airspace delay situation and the dynamic allocation of airspace system capacity balance. Accordingly, a method of delay prediction for target airports based on the spatio-temporal delay variables of adjacent airports is proposed in this paper. First, by combining the complex network theory, we first extract the topology of the airport network and create airport clusters with comparable network properties. Second, we develop the TS-BiLSTM-Attention mode to predict the delay per hour for airports in the cluster. As the spatio-temporal feature variables, the arrival delay of airport cluster-associated airports and the delay time series of landing airports are utilized to reach the conclusion. The experimental results indicate that the delay prediction predicated on clusters is superior to that based on data from a single airport. This demonstrates that the delay propagation law derived from cluster data based on spatio-temporal feature extraction can generalize the delay propagation characteristics of airports within clusters.

Abstract Background The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak started in Wuhan, Hubei, China since Dec 2019 and cases of infection have been continuously reported in various countries. It is now clear that the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus is transmissible from human to human. Nucleic acid detection is considered as the gold standard for the diagnosis of COVID-19. In this case report, we describe our experience in detection of SARS-COV-2 from a confirmed patient using nucleic acid test of bronchoalveolar-lavage fluid (BALF) samples but not nasopharyngeal swabs. Case presentation We present a case of severely ill SARS-COV-2 infected 46-year-old man with fever, coughing and chest tightness. We performed viral detection using his BALF samples and imaging method (CT) for confirmation. The patient received combination of interferonalfa-1b and ribavirin, lopinavir and ritonavir for antiviral treatment at different stages. Other medication was also given to him in combination for anti-inflammation, intestinal microbial regulation, phlegm elimination, liver protection and pulmonary fibrosis prevention purposes. We provided oxygen supply to him using BIPAP ventilator and high-flow humidification oxygen therapy instrument to facilitate respiration. The patient was cured and discharged. Conclusion This case report described an effective supportive medication scheme to treat SARS-COV-2 infected patient and emphasized the necessity of detection of the viral genome using BALF samples and its significance in the diagnosis and prognosis of the disease.

The electrochemical properties of 10-Hydroxycamptothecin were investigated systematically at a reduced graphene oxide modified glassy carbon electrode. A new pair of redox peaks of 10-Hydroxycamptothecin was reported for the first time with quasi-reversible process driven by adsorption. The dynamics parameters of electrode process were calculated using various electrochemical techniques. Owing to the large surface area, good conductivity of electrochemically reduced graphene oxide, the sensor exhibited sensitive activity for 10-Hydroxycamptothecin, displaying a wide linear response from 1.5 × 10−8 mol L−1 to 5.0 × 10−7 mol L−1 and 5.0 × 10−7 mol L−1 to 3.0 × 10−6 mol L−1 (Fig. 8). A simple, sensitive and new voltammetric method for the determination of 10-Hydroxycamptothecin was proposed with a determination limit of 1.5 × 10−8 mol L−1 and recoveries were determined in the range of 94.2–104%. Abstract Background Deletion or duplication on the distal portion of the long arm of chromosome 1 result in complex and highly variable clinical phenotype including. intellectual disability and autism. Case presentation We report on a patient with intellectual disability and a 763.3 Kb duplication on 1q43 that includes only CHRM3, which was detected by next generation sequencing (NGS). The patient presented with intellectual disability, developmental delay, autistic behavior, limited or no speech, social withdrawal, self-injurious, feeding difficulties, strabismus, short stature, hand anomalie, and no seizures, anxiety, or mood swings, and clinodactyly. Conclusions We propose that CHRM3 is the critical gene responsible for the common characteristics in the cases with 1q43 duplication and deletion.

Pedestrians are vulnerable road users that need proactive protection. While both autonomous and connected vehicle technologies aim to deliver greater safety benefits, current designs heavily rely on vehicle-based or on-board sensors and lack strategic real-time interactions with pedestrians who do not have any communication means. As pedestrians are passively protected by the system, they might be put into hazardous situations when vehicle-mounted sensors fail to detect their presence. This paper is part of ongoing research that uses roadside light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors to develop a human-in-the-loop system that brings pedestrians into the connected environment. To proactively protect pedestrians, accurate prediction of their intention for crossings at locations, such as unsignalized intersections and street mid-blocks is critical, and this paper presents a modified Naïve Bayes approach for this purpose. It features a probabilistic approach to overcoming the common deficiencies in deterministic methods and provides valuable comparisons between feature-based data processing methods, such as artificial neural network (ANN) and model-based Naïve Bayes approach. A case study was conducted by using a low-cost 16-line LiDAR sensor installed at the roadside. Pedestrians' crossing intention was predicted at a range of 0.5-3 s before actual crossings. The results satisfactorily demonstrated the properties of the modified Naïve Bayes model, as well as its higher flexibility, compared with the ANN approaches in practice.

Oenological yeasts play a critical role in the winemaking process. In this study, the biodiversity of the non-Saccharomyces yeast was analyzed and monitored using high-throughput sequencing and culture-dependent approaches. Oenological and fermentation characteristics of these native yeasts were further investigated. A total of 241 fungus species and 5 species of culturable non-Saccharomyces yeasts were detected using high-throughput sequencing and culture-dependent approaches, respectively. Five strains of aroma-producing yeasts (K4, K14, K19, K21, and K26) were isolated, and their growth characteristics, carbon source utilization, hydrogen sulfide production performance, and β-glucosidase activity were different. The oenological condition tolerances of most strains were lower than that of commercial S. cerevisiae X16. The co-inoculum of these strains and S. cerevisiae X16 regulated the volatile aroma characteristics of the fermented Korla fragrant pear (KFP) fruit wine, enriching and complicating the aroma flavor. Thus, the combined inoculation of these indigenous wine yeasts and S. cerevisiae has some application potential in the production of KFP wine.

Rosa roxburghii Tratt, a Rosaceae plant endemic to China, produces fruit with high nutritional and medicinal value. The effects of R. roxburghii must on the growth, nutrient composition, and antioxidant activity of Pleurotus ostreatus mycelia was investigated. We measured the mycelial growth rate, proximate composition, amino acid and crude polysaccharide content, and the antioxidant activity of the crude polysaccharides of P. ostreatus mycelia cultivated under different concentrations of R. roxburghii must (2%, 4%, and 8%, v/v). Low concentrations of R. roxburghii must (2% and 4%) promoted mycelial growth, while a high concentration (8%) inhibited mycelial growth. Low concentrations of R. roxburghii must had no significant effects on the soluble substances, fat, ash, and crude fiber in P. ostreatus mycelia, but significantly increased the crude protein and total amino acid contents (p < 0.05). The addition of R. roxburghii must at low concentrations significantly increased the crude polysaccharide content in mycelia (p < 0.05) but had no impact on the scavenging of hydroxyl radicals and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Therefore, R. roxburghii must at low concentration can be used as a substrate for P. ostreatus cultivation to increase the protein and polysaccharide contents in mycelia.

Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease. Topical corticosteroids are the first-line therapy for ACD despite their significant adverse effects. Acupuncture has been widely used in the treatment of various skin diseases, but its underlying mechanism remains unrevealed. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of acupuncture treatment based on effectiveness and mechanism. BALB/c mice received 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene (DNCB) application to build AD-like model. Results showed that acupuncture was an effective treatment method in inhibiting inflammatory conditions, serum IgE levels, and expression of proinflammatory cytokine Th2 (IL-4, IL-6), and Th2 (IL-1β, TNF-α) mRNA compared with DNCB treatment. Acupuncture treatment also inhibited nuclear factor-κB p65, phosphorylation of IκBα, and phosphorylation of occludin proteins expression. Furthermore, it could improve the expression of epidermal growth factor in both mRNA and protein levels. These results suggest that acupuncture, as an alternative therapy treatment for its no significant side effects, was effective in alleviating ACD by reducing proinflammatory cytokines and changing proteins' expression.

Aims: Previous studies have revealed that the increased shedding of syncytiotrophoblast extracellular vesicles (STBM) may lead to preeclampsia (PE). We aimed to identify the proteins carried by STBM and their potential pathological roles in early-onset severe PE. Methods: In this study, we performed a differential proteomic analysis of STBM from early-onset severe PE patients, using iTRAQ isobaric tags and 2D nano LC-MS/MS. STBM were generated by the in vitro explant culture method, and then verified by electron microscopy and western blot analysis. Results: A total of 18 533 unique peptides and 3 317 proteins were identified, 3 292 proteins were quantified. We identified 194 differentially expressed proteins in STBM from early-onset severe PE patients, 122 proteins were up-regulated and 72 proteins were down-regulated. Further bioinformatics analysis revealed that mitochondrion, transmembrane transport and transmembrane transporter activity were the most abundant categories in gene ontology (GO) annotation. Glycolysis/ gluconeogenesis, citrate cycle, fatty acid elongation, steroid hormone biosynthesis and oxidative phosphorylation were the five significantly represented pathways. Four differentially expressed proteins (siglec-6, calnexin, CD63 and S100-A8) related to inflammation, coagulation or immunoregulation were independently verified using western blot. Conclusions: The identification of key proteins carried by STBM may serve not only as a basis for better understanding and further exploring the etiology and pathogenesis of PE, but also as potential biomarkers and in providing targets for future therapy in PE, especially in early-onset severe PE(sPE).

Polyurethane anticorrosion coating has been widely used as a metal coating material in recent years, but it has some shortcomings in hydrophobicity, heat resistance and hardness. In this paper, we add organic silicon to improve the performance of polyurethane through chemical modification. We show that the addition of organic silicon improves the chemical stability of polyurethane based on chemical rules, and prepare polyurethane prepolymer and add organic silicon to test its performance in the form of experimental study. The experimental results show that the addition of organic silicon can improve the contact angle, hardness and impact strength of polyurethane coating. This study is of theoretical guiding significance to the performance improvement of polyurethane and its application in the anticorrosion coating.

This paper investigates mobile relaying in wireless powered communication networks (WPCN), where an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is employed to help information delivery from multiple sources to destination with communication channels severely blocked. The sources are low-power without energy supply. To support information transmission, the UAV acts as a hybrid access point (AP) to provide wireless power transfer (WPT) and information reception for sources. We set the issue of system throughput maximization as the optimization problem. On the one hand, the system is subject to the information causality constraint due to the dependent processes of information reception and transmission for the UAV. On the other hand, the sources are constrained by a so-called neutrality constraints due to the dependent processes of energy harvesting and energy consumption. In addition, we take account of the access delay issue of all ground nodes. Specifically, two paradigms of delay-tolerant case and delay-sensitive case are presented. However, the formulated problem including optimizations for time slot scheduling, power allocation and UAV trajectory is non-convex and thus is difficult to obtain its optimal solution. To tackle this problem, we apply the successive convex approximation (SCA) technique and propose an iterative algorithm by which a suboptimal solution can be achieved. Simulation results validate our proposed design, and show that the obtained suboptimal solution is high-quality, as compared to benchmark scheme.

In this paper, we consider the precoding design and power allocation problem for multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) wireless ad hoc networks. In the first timeslot, the source node (SN) transmits energy and information to a relay node (RN) simultaneously within the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) framework. Then, in the second timeslot, based on the decoder and the forwarding (DF) protocol, after reassembling the received signal and its own signal, the RN forwards the information to the main user (U1) and simultaneously sends its own information to the secondary user (U2). In this paper, when the transmission rate of the U1 is restricted, the precoding, beamforming, and power splitting (PS) transmission ratio are jointly considered to maximize the transmission rate of U2. To maximize the system rate, we design an optimal beamforming matrix and solve the optimization problem by semi-definite relaxation (SDR), considering the high complexity of implementing the optimal solution. Two sub-optimal precoding programs are also discussed: singular value decomposition and block diagonalization. Finally, the performance of the optimization and sub-optimization schemes are compared using a simulation.

Abstract Breast cancer is the most common female malignancy worldwide. Ubiquitin-specific peptidase 53 (USP53) has been shown to exert cancer-suppressing functions in several solid tumors, but its role and the underlying mechanism in breast cancer has not been clearly elucidated. Therefore, we have carried out a series of detailed studies on this matter at the levels of bioinformatics, clinical tissue, cell function and animal model. We found that USP53 expression was downregulated in breast cancer specimens and was negatively correlated with the clinical stages. Gain- and loss-of-function experiments demonstrated USP53 inhibited proliferation, clonogenesis, cell cycle and xenograft growth, as well as induced apoptosis and mitochondrial damage of breast cancer cells. Co-immunoprecipitation data suggested that USP53 interacted with zinc finger MYND-type containing 11 (ZMYND11), and catalyzed its deubiquitination and stabilization. The 33–50 amino acid Cys-box domain was key for USP53 enzyme activity, but not essential for its binding with ZMYND11. The rescue experiments revealed that the anti-tumor role of USP53 in breast cancer cells was at least partially mediated by ZMYND11. Both USP53 and ZMYND11 were prognostic protective factors for breast cancer. USP53-ZMYND11 axis may be a good potential biomarker or therapeutic target for breast cancer, which can provide novel insights into the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
