In light of the known impacts of obesity on well-being, we regularly work to promote weight loss programs in community settings. However, we found that a gap exists between the need for weight loss and the utilization of healthy weight loss programs among BMI (body mass index) ≥ 27 kg/mWe reexamined access to health services and developed an accessible weight loss program for BMI ≥ 27 kg/mA telephone survey for obese adults was conducted to explore the reasons that discouraged persons in this group to not use our weight loss programs. The main reasons identified were: program schedules did not fit with respondent's daily schedule, the unsuitable services provided, and the overly long distance to the weight loss class. The social-cognitive-theory-based 1-year weight loss program that was developed provided immediate and accurate information about weight loss, inspiring words, weight management advice, and immediate and convenient consultation services. Moreover, this program established an incentives system on a social networking platform (Facebook) and was marketed under a creative slogan.The developed weight loss program increased not only program utilization (from 54.7% to 78.1%) but also reduced the average weight of obese adult participants by 3.4 kg.Conclusions: This program adjusted existing weight loss programs and improved the utilization of weight loss programs. In this investigation, a system-in-package (SiP) that consists of a very low-cost interposer with through-silicon holes (TSHs) and with chips on its top and bottom sides (a real 3-D IC integration) is studied. Emphasis is placed on the fabrication of a test vehicle to demonstrate the feasibility of this SiP technology. The design, materials, and process of the top chip, bottom chip, TSH interposer, and final assembly will be presented. Shock and thermal cycling tests will be performed to demonstrate the integrity of the SiP structure.

The doxorubicin-chitosan composite is deposited electrochemically on the Ti alloy post hydroxyapatite coated for reducing the side effects by sustaining release of drugs localized near the tumor to achieve the inhibition or apoptosis of cancer. The possibility of danger in case of exfoliation of medicine composite and HA agglomerates from the alloy surface due to the dynamic erosion of blood flow could be overcome with the additional surface modification by the electrochemical deposition way. The cathodic polarization tests coupled with electrochemical reactions were analyzed to speculate the deposition mechanism of doxorubicin, spectrophotometer (UV visible spectrometer) to measure doxorubicin loading and release, field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) to observe surface morphology, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy for chemical bonding of composites, and X-ray diffractometry (XRD) for crystal structure. The cell culture was carried out to analyze the drug efficacy on cell viability. It is concluded that doxorubicin-chitosan composites can be successfully deposited on the uncoated and hydroxyapatite-coated titanium specimen alloy by electrochemical methods. Both have revealed the sustaining drug release for a month and the latter with high porosity can enhance the drug loading to 37.46 μg/cm2, revealing this electrochemical method is a practical way to load doxorubicin cancer drug releasing locally to significantly reduce the amount of medication needed for future clinical applications.

In order to reduce the side effects caused by the chemotherapy of cancer, various target treatments and drug-delivery systems have been investigated. In this study, the doxorubicin-chitosan composite was deposited on the post hydroxyapatite coated Ti alloy for the tumor treatment by sustaining release of localized drug to achieve the inhibition or apoptosis of cancer cells. In the experiment, cathodic polarization tests coupled with electrochemical reactions were analyzed to speculate the deposition mechanism of doxorubicin, UV-visible spectrometer to measure the doxorubicin loading and release, field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) to observe the surface morphology, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to characterize the chemical bonds of composite, and X-ray diffractometry (XRD) the crystal structures. The MTT assay was carried out to analyze the toxicity of the drug to cells. It is concluded that doxorubicin-chitosan composites can be successfully deposited on the titanium alloy by the electrochemical method, while the post hydroxyapatite coated specimen with high porosity can enhance the drug loading and reveal the complete drug release. Besides, the electrochemical deposition does not vary any chemical bonding or destroy any medical function of doxorubicin, revealing a practical method for drug loading.
