Background: Cognitive impairment (CoI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and depression are prevalent among older adults and are interrelated, imposing a significant disease burden. This study evaluates the association of CKD and depression with CoI and explores their potential interactions. Method: Data for this study were sourced from the 2011–2014 National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey (NHANES). Multiple binary logistic regression models assessed the relationship between CKD, depression, and CoI while controlling for confounders. The interactions were measured using the relative excess risk of interaction (RERI), the attributable proportion of interaction (AP), and the synergy index (S). Results: A total of 2,666 participants (weighted n = 49,251,515) were included in the study, of which 700 (16.00%) had CoI. After adjusting for confounding factors, the risk of CoI was higher in patients with CKD compared to non-CKD participants (odds ratio [OR] = 1.49, 95% confidence interval [CI]:1.12–1.99). The risk of CoI was significantly increased in patients with depression compared to those without (OR = 2.29, 95% CI: 1.73–3.03). Furthermore, there was a significant additive interaction between CKD and depression in terms of the increased risk of CoI (adjusted RERI = 2.01, [95% CI: 0.31–3.71], adjusted AP = 0.50 [95% CI: 0.25–0.75], adjusted S = 2.97 [95% CI: 1.27–6.92]). Conclusion: CKD and depression synergistically affect CoI, particularly when moderate-to-severe depression co-occurs with CKD. Clinicians should be mindful of the combined impact on patients with CoI. Further research is needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and assess the effects specific to different CKD stages. Dielectric switching materials are prospective candidates for smart electronic/electrical applications, and high dielectric switching ratios are crucial for their practical applications. However, the substantial improvement of the dielectric switching ratio is limited by the available dielectric switching mechanisms, and obtaining high dielectric switching ratios is a major challenge. Here, an unparalleled dielectric switching effect is reported in a water‐in‐oil emulsion system, caused by dual polarization synergy below the dielectric transition temperature in concert with suppression of the electrode polarization above the dielectric transition temperature. The synergistic dielectric switching effect of interfacial polarization and electrode polarization endows the emulsion with unprecedentedly high dielectric switching ratios. The highest room temperature dielectric switching ratio of this emulsion system up to 2.86 × 106 at 20 Hz, is four orders of magnitude higher than the highest switching ratio reported so far. The unparalleled high dielectric switching ratio, reliable cycle stability, good frequency adaptability, and satisfactory scalability make the inorganic salt solution/octadecane emulsions potentially excellent candidates for high‐sensitivity room‐temperature smart switching or sensing devices. Background: Few studies have been conducted focusing on the non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) incidence rate and influencing factors among left-behind children in northeastern Sichuan, China. In this study, we investigated the incidence rate of the NSSI behaviors, levels of anxiety and depression in left-behind children in northeastern Sichuan, and relevant sociodemographic factors.Methods: The NSSI behaviors were identified using the Ottawa Self-injury Inventory (Chinese version). Its incidence rate and related influencing factors were evaluated by Cluster sampling; the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 Items (DASS-21) was adopted to assess the levels of anxiety, depression, and stress.Results: A total of 9450 adolescents met the inclusion criteria, including 543 with NSSI behaviors, and the prevalence of NSSI was 5.7 %. There were 3596 left-behind children, and 243 of them had NSSI behaviors, the NSSI incidence in left-behind children was 6.8 %. There were 5854 non-left-behind children, and the NSSI incidence in non-left-behind children was 5.1 %. Left-behind children's NSSI behaviors were remarkably correlated with five risk factors: being female (OR = 2.411, 95%CI = 1.773-3.279), parents' divorce (OR = 1.742, 95%CI = 1.262-2.404), elder age (OR = 1.120, 95%CI = 1.028-1.219), severe depression (OR = 1.212, 95%CI = 1.148-1.281), and high anxiety (OR = 1.170, 95%CI = 1.093-1.251).Limitations: This is a cross-sectional study, we cannot probe into the causality between NSSI behaviors and corresponding risk factors. Reporting and recalling biases may be unavoidable as questionnaires are performed by self-rating scales and retrospective reports.Conclusion: The NSSI behaviors are common in left-behind children in northeastern Sichuan. The soil selenium (Se) content and bioavailability are important for human health. In this regard, knowing the factors driving the concentration of total Se and bioavailable Se in soils is essential to map Se, enhance foodstuffs' Se content, and improve the Se nutritional status of humans. In this study, total Se and Se bioavailability (i.e., phosphate extracted Se) in surface soils (0–20 cm) developed on different strata were analyzed in a Se-enriched region of Southwest China. Furthermore, the interaction between the stratum and soil properties was assessed and how did the stratum effect on the concentration and spatial distribution of Se bioavailability in soils was investigated. Results showed that the median concentration of total Se in soils was 0.308 mg/kg, which is higher than China's soil background. The mean proportion of phosphate extracted Se in total Se was 12.2 %. The values of total Se, phosphate extracted Se, and soil organic matter (SOM) in soils increased with the increasing stratum age. In contrast, the coefficient of weathering and eluviation (BA) values decreased. The analysis of statistics and Geodetector revealed that the SOM, stratum, and BA were the dominant controlling factors for the contents and distributions of soil total Se and phosphate extracted Se. This study provided strong evidence that the soil properties that affected the total Se and Se bioavailability were modulated by the local geological background, and had important practical implications for addressing Se malnutrition and developing the Se-rich resource in the study region and similar geological settings in different parts of the globe. The Altai Mountains are located at the junction of Asia and Europe and pathways linking East Asian climate with the Arctic and North Atlantic. Here, we report a record of n -alkanes from the sediments of Shuanghu Lake in the Altai Mountains. In this forested region, the vegetation is dominated by C 3 plants and the long-chain n -alkanes (C29–C31) in the lake sediments are predominantly derived from leaf wax lipids. The compound-specific carbon isotopic values of the long-chain n-alkanes are sensitive to regional moisture. Both the δ13C 29–31 value and the Paq index show a decreasing trend since ∼9.0 kyr BP, implying an increase in moisture. This trend is punctuated by abrupt decreases in isotopic values centered at 8.2, 7.4, 5.6, 3.0, 2.0 and 0.2 kyr BP, which may indicate cold and wet events on decadal–centennial timescales. The Holocene hydrological patterns recorded at Shuanghu Lake are different from those from monsoonal Asia and they may reflect a response to decreasing Arctic sea ice cover that provided an enhanced moisture source and promoted increased heavy snowfall in the study region, or an increase in the temperature gradient and strength of the jet stream and extratropical cyclones at mid-latitudes, as proposed previously. Untethered stimuli‐responsive soft materials with programmed sequential self‐folding are of great interest due to their ability to achieve task‐specific shape transformation with complex final configuration. Here, reversible and sequential self‐folding soft actuators are demonstrated by utilizing a temperature‐responsive nanocomposite hydrogel with different folding speeds but the same chemical composition. By varying the UV light intensity during the photo‐crosslinking of the nanocomposite hydrogel, different types of microstructures can be realized via phase separation mechanisms, which allow to control the folding speeds. The self‐folding structures are fabricated by integrating two dissimilar materials (i.e., a nanocomposite hydrogel and an elastomer) into hinge‐based bilayer structures via extrusion‐based 3D printing. It has been demonstrated that the folding kinetics can be accelerated by more than one order of magnitude due to the phase‐separated microstructure formed by the relatively weaker UV intensity (≈10 mW cm‐2) compared to the one formed by stronger UV intensity (≈100 mW cm‐2). 3D structures with sequential self‐folding capabilities are realized by prescribing actuation speeds and folding angles to specific hinges of the nanocomposite hydrogel. Porous ceramics were synthesized using porcelain tile polishing residue (PTPR) and slaked lime (Ca(OH)2) as a reinforcing agent through a hydrothermal autoclaving method. The process parameters, including the quantity of slaked lime added, the hydrothermal autoclaving temperature, and the reaction duration, were optimized meticulously. The composition, structure, thermal and physical properties of the samples were thoroughly analyzed via Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) measurements, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicated that the incorporation of slaked lime and hydrothermal autoclaving led to the formation of calcium silicate hydrate, which corresponded with an enhancement in the strength of the sample. Notably, when the quantity of slaked lime added was optimized at 30 wt%, the formation of tobermorite (5CaO·6SiO2·5H2O) was detected. At a hydrothermal autoclaving temperature of 150 °C, the formation of only sheet-like calcium silicate hydrate was observed. In contrast, at an elevated temperature of 180 °C and 210 °C, needle-like tobermorite was successfully synthesized. The porous ceramic with the most favorable structure was obtained through autoclaving at 180 °C for 10 h with 30 wt% slaked lime, exhibiting a total pore volume of 0.11 mL/g, a specific surface area of 26.35 m2/g, and a mesoporous volume fraction of 90.40%. Ultrasound-modulated optical tomography (UOT) leverages the strengths of light and sound, enabling deep-tissue imaging with optical absorption contrast and acoustic resolution. Camera-based UOT, with its parallel detection capability, excels at handling weak light–sound interactions. However, the limited frame rate of the camera typically results in poor axial resolution and poses challenges for holographic measurements. In this study, we introduced intersected ultrasonic modulation to address these limitations, thereby achieving equal resolution in both lateral and axial dimensions through referenceless measurements. As a proof of concept, we constructed an imaging system and demonstrated two-dimensional imaging for absorptive targets buried inside a scattering medium. High‐energy and safe lithium ion batteries (LIBs) are in increasing need as the rapid development of electronic devices, electric vehicles, as well as energy storage station. Li‐rich oxides have attracted a lot of attention due to their high capacity and low cost as cathode material for LIBs. However, they still suffer from the vulnerable cathode/ electrolyte interface, which presents the huge challenges of surface degradation and gas release, particularly at high state of charge. Some issues of Li‐rich cathode materials, such as moderate cycle stability and voltage decay, are in tight connection with electrode‐electrolyte interfacial side reactions. Research in the area of interfacial degradation mechanism and optimization strategies is of great significance as for Li‐rich cathode, and extensive efforts have been poured. This review aims to understand the degradation mechanism of Li‐rich cathode materials, and summarize the corresponding valuable and effective optimization strategies. Stratigraphic lithology strongly influences the spatial heterogeneity of soil available selenium (ASe), however, it is often neglected in regional simulation. Therefore, taking the Jiangjin District, where the soil is richer in selenium (Se), as the research area, the changes of soil ASe at different spatial scales have been simulated by combining Geodetector and three popular models (Multiple linear regression (MLR), Random forest (RF) and BP neural network (BPN)). The results showed that modelling with 'Formation' as the spatial scale could reduce the influence of stratum lithology difference on the spatial heterogeneity of soil ASe and improve the model's prediction accuracy. Compared with the MLR (R2 = 0.52, root mean squares error (RMSE) = 13.217 μg kg−1) and BPN (R2 = 0.55, RMSE = 13.79 μg kg−1), the RF (R2 = 0.67, RMSE = 10.85 μg kg−1) exhibited higher R2 and smaller RMSE, and the simulation effect of soil ASe is the best in the Middle Jurassic Shaximiao Formation (J 2 s). The outcomes of variable importance analysis revealed that soil total selenium (TSe) and soil organic matter (SOM) were the imperative factors for predicting ASe. The scenario simulation prediction showed that in the next 40 years, due to the combined influence of SOM and pH, the content of ASe in soil developed in the J 2 s would decrease from 40.8 μg kg−1 to 37.8 μg kg−1, a 7.8 percent drop. The main areas of soil ASe loss were in the western farming areas. The ASe content in dry land and paddy fields decreased by 12.0% and 4.9%, respectively. Therefore, long-term agricultural production activities would lead to soil ASe loss. The present results could provide a new scheme for the simulation and prediction of regional soil ASe, which is helpful for scientific planning, utilization of selenium-rich soil resources, and development of regional agricultural economy. Li- and Mn-rich oxides (LMR) have emerged as promising cathode materials for next-generation Li-ion batteries due to their cost effectiveness, impressive capacity, and high energy density. However, the poor electrochemical kinetics and structural instability in hostile interface environments have result in continuous voltage/capacity decay and undesirable rate performance, impeding the large-scale commercial application of LMR materials. In this study, we introduce an atomic pins-assisted integrated surface reconstruction (AISR) strategy to address the interfacial degradation and instability issues. Utilizing the bidirectional diffusion effect of the aluminum-containing intermediate layer during the heat treatment process, we employ aluminum atoms as bridging centers to in situ construct a composite interface structure. This approach capitalizes on the element diffusion reaction and anchoring effect to achieve multifunctional modification through the Al-based ionic conductor network constructing and near-surface Al doping for LMR material. Intriguingly multiple kinetic investigations and calculations reveal that the epitaxial ionic conductor layer suppresses interfacial side reactions, enhances ionic conductivity, and improves electronic conductivity by regulating cationic/anionic redox activity through Al surface doping.Impressively, the modified electrodes exhibited an increased reversible capacity at both 0.1C/5C rates (0.1C, 2 ∼ 4.8 V, from 264.2 mAh∙g−1 to 274 mAh∙g−1; 5C, 2 ∼ 4.6 V, from 145.5 mAh∙g−1 to 197.9 mAh∙g−1) and improved capacity retention after 250 cycles at 1C/5C rates (2 ∼ 4.6 V: 1C, from 69.46% to 81.92%; 5C from 57.73% to 81.35%). We systematically summarized the rate-dependent failure mechanism and the corresponding integrated interface reconstruction principle. Despite their small overall area, small ponds play a large role in the greenhouse gas budgets of inland water bodies. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the flux-gradient (FG) and the eddy covariance (EC) method for measuring the fluxes of CO 2 , CH 4 , and H 2 O at two small fish ponds (fetch < 120 m) in subtropical climate conditions. The EC fluxes were subject to two sources of error: high frequency flux loss and footprint contamination. Of the three gaseous fluxes, the CH 4 flux suffered the largest high frequency loss (18%) due to a combination of low EC instrument height and long optical path of the CH 4 analyzer. Despite the low measurement height, the EC fluxes were influenced by sources outside the boundary of the target fish ponds, with the footprint contamination most severe on the CO 2 flux and least severe on the CH 4 flux. With regards to the FG method, one major uncertainty lies in the eddy diffusivity calculation. Of the three eddy diffusivity models evaluated [the aerodynamic (AE) model deploying the full Obukhov stability correction, the modified Bowen-ratio model using H 2 O as a tracer, and the wind profile model for neutral stability], the AE model yielded the best results for the CO 2 and CH 4 fluxes. Our results support Horst's (1999, Boundary-Layer Meteorology 90, 171) theoretical prediction that the footprint of the AE flux based on a two-level concentration profile measurement should be much smaller than that of the gradient flux footprint and the EC flux footprint at the geometric mean of the two heights. We conclude that the most appropriate micrometeorological method for measuring fluxes from small water bodies is a hybrid scheme, whereby an EC system is deployed to measure the eddy diffusivity and a precision gas analyzer is used to obtain the concentration gradient of the target gas. Thermally-triggered electrical switching materials are of urgent demand for developing novel temperature sensors, overheat protection circuits, thermal controllers, battery management systems against overheating, etc. Here, we report a water-in-oil emulsion system with giant electrical switching ratios at room temperature prepared by a simple and efficient method. The temperature-sensitive phase transition process of alkanes as the oil phase causes the formation and collapse of conductive paths in the emulsion, resulting in electrical switching ratios of up to 6 orders of magnitude. The emulsions have good thermal cycle stability, and the switching ratio remains essentially unchanged after 100 cycles. The switching temperature can be easily adjusted by using alkanes of various chain lengths. In addition, the similar electrical switching effect is observed in four emulsions containing different neutral salts, ensuring the tunability and versatility of the system. As an intermediate for preparing sedative drugs, barbituric acid (BA) is often used for anesthesia and hypnosis in clinical practice. Due to the poor solubility of BA, barbituric acid – urea co-crystal (BAUR) was prepared to improve the physicochemical properties and bioavailability of BA. Notely, urea is also required in the production process of BA, so selecting urea as the co-crystal former will not bring additional impurities. BAUR has three forms reported. In this paper, the phase diagram of BAUR-Ⅰ was measured to determine the limit concentration of urea. Further, the nucleation metastable zone experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of cooling rates and urea concentrations during the nucleation. The nucleation process was then simulated using two approaches: the self-consistent Nývlt-like approach and the classical 3D model approach. Combined with the calculation of nucleation activation energy E sat , it can conclude that increasing the concentration of urea widens the metastable region to inhibit the nucleation of form Ⅰ in the cooling crystallization. In this paper, the shortcut D-bar method is introduced to electrical capacitance tomography to directly reconstruct the permittivity distribution within the region of interest. The method reveals the analytic relationship between the permittivity distribution and the Dirichlet-to-Neumann (DN) map. The DN map can be directly estimated with measured capacitances. However, the direct estimate of the DN map is inaccurate in the cases of small electrode numbers. To better adapt the method to real applications of small electrode numbers, the original shortcut D-bar method is modified by splitting estimation of the DN map into the analytical expression of a homogeneous background and the estimation of the other variation part. Comparisons are made among the original, modified shortcut D-bar methods, and the classical Landweber iteration method through simulation and experiment, respectively. Many physiological activities such as cell survival, proliferation, defense, adaptation, and metabolism need to consume energy. Hepatoma cells can quickly start stress responses like multidrug resistance (MDR) requiring adenosine triphosphate (ATP) consumption after administration of chemotherapeutics. We employed CCK-8 assay to evaluate cell viability and the flow cytometry to confirm apoptosis and necrosis. ELISA kit was used to determine intracellular levels of ATP in lysates. Western blot was employed to analyze the expressions of key enzymes involved in energy metabolism. We found that doxorubicin (DOX) potently stimulated apoptosis at a low dose and even induced necrosis at a high dose in SMMC-7721. DHZCP combined with DOX at low or middle dose enhanced the synergistic antihepatoma effect. Results indicated that Dahuang Zhechong Pill (DHZCP) inhibited the expressions of several key enzymes involved in oxidative phosphorylation and reduced intracellular ATP levels. The combination of DHZCP with DOX reversed the elevation of intracellular ATP levels, and a significantly synergistic antitumor effect was observed. DHZCP could not only strengthen the therapeutic effects of chemotherapeutic drugs but also decrease the doses of chemotherapeutic drugs and the incidences of adverse reactions, providing novel strategies for clinical treatment of liver cancer. Aquaculture ponds are important anthropogenic methane (CH 4) sources to the atmosphere. Currently large uncertainties still remain regarding the emission strength of this source type and its relationship with aquacultural farming practices. In this study, the methane flux was measured continuously for four years with eddy covariance (EC) in an aquaculture pond complex in the Yangtze River Delta, China. These ponds have never been dredged and were aerated during part of the aquacultural season. Additionally, floating chambers and inverted funnels were used to investigate spatial heterogeneity of the CH 4 flux and to quantify the contribution via ebullition to the flux. The results showed that the daily CH 4 flux ranged from 0.1 to 16.7 μg m−2 s−1, with an average value of 4.10 ± 3.08 µg m−2 s−1. Water temperature was the primary driver of the CH 4 flux across multiple time scales (half-hourly, daily, and monthly scale). Ebullition was the main transport way accounting for 70% ± 4% of the total CH 4 flux. The annual flux in this study was about three times the median flux reported by other researchers for similar freshwater aquaculture ponds. A statistical analysis of our data together with the published flux data reveals that ponds with dredging have much lower CH 4 emission flux than those without dredging and suggests that dredging may have a much larger influence on the emission flux than aeration. Over the past decade, we have witnessed the development of cell transplantation as a new strategy for repairing spinal cord injury (SCI). However, due to the complexity of the central nervous system (CNS), achieving successful clinical translation remains a significant challenge. Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUMSCs) possess distinct advantages, such as easy collection, lack of ethical concerns, high self-renewal ability, multilineage differentiation potential, and immunomodulatory properties. hUMSCs are promising for regenerating the injured spinal cord to a significant extent. At the same time, for advancing SCI treatment, the appropriate benefit and risk evaluation methods play a pivotal role in determining the clinical applicability of treatment plans. Hence, this study discusses the advantages and risks of hUMSCs in SCI treatment across four dimensions—comprehensive evaluation of motor and sensory function, imaging, electrophysiology, and autonomic nervous system (ANS) function—aiming to improve the rationality of relevant clinical research and the feasibility of clinical translation. The Awulale Iron Metallogenic Belt (AIMB) has developed many medium–large iron deposits, of which the Zhibo iron deposit is selected as the research object in this paper. The Zhibo deposit's ore primarily consists of magnetite as the main mineral, accompanied by extensive epidotization. The mineral assemblage includes diopside, albite, actinolite, epidote, chlorite, K-feldspar, quartz, calcite, chalcopyrite, and pyrite. Magnetite is classified into two groups based on sulfide content and mineral assemblage (MagI for sulfide-free and MagII for sulfide-rich ores). Two-stage mineralization of magnetite has been identified based on mineral assemblages and paragenesis, including the magmatic stage MagI and hydrothermal stage MagII. Mag I shows inhomogeneous backscattered electron (BSE) textures and consists of BSE-light and -dark domains (Mag I-L and MagI-D). Seven subtypes of magnetite have been recognized in this deposit. MagI-L and MagI-D have formed in the magmatic stage and show BSE images in light and dark colors, respectively. MagI-L is anhedral to subhedral and is inclusion-free. MagI-D has mainly replaced MagI-L along fractures and contains inclusions and pores. MagII has formed in the hydrothermal stage and is characterized by coupled dissolution–reprecipitation (DRP) textures. It can be divided into five sub-generations, that is, MagII-1, MagII-2, MagII-3, MagII-L, and MagII-D. MagII-1, MagII-2, and MagII-3 comprise the core–mantle–rim texture, while MagII-L and MagII-D comprise the core–rim texture. MagII-1 is BSE-light and is enriched with inclusions and pores. MagII-2 has partly replaced MagII-1 and exhibits oscillatory zoning under BSE imaging. It also contains inclusions. BSE-light MagII-3 occurs as overgrowth along MagII-2 margins and is inclusion-free. MagI magnetite is enriched with V, Cr, and Ni, whereas MagII is enriched with W, Ta, Nb, Sr, Sb, Sn, Y, Zr, Mg, Al, and Ti, indicating a decreased temperature of magnetite formation. MagI-L crystallizes from the original magma, while MagI-D is formed from the residual magma enriched with incompatible elements. MagII crystallizes from later multiple hydrothermal activities through the dissolution of early magnetite and the re-precipitation of later magnetite or from MagI-D which has later undergone a hydrothermal overprinting process. According to the texture and chemical composition of magnetite from the Zhibo deposit, we suggest that the Zhibo iron deposit was formed from the initial magmatic origin and then underwent a hydrothermal overprinting process. Background: Congestive heart failure (CHF) demonstrates a heightened prevalence in individuals with diabetes mellitus within Intensive Care Units. The occurrence of abnormal chloride levels is frequently observed in critically ill patients, yet its clinical significance remains subject to debate. This study endeavors to explore the relationship between serum chloride levels and in-hospital mortality among patients affected by both congestive heart failure and diabetes. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted, utilizing data from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV (MIMIC-IV) database, focusing on adult patients in the United States. The impact of serum chloride levels upon ICU admission on in-hospital mortality was analyzed using multivariable logistic regression models, generalized additive models and subgroup analysis. Results: The study encompassed 7,063 patients with coexisting diabetes and congestive heart failure. The fully adjusted model revealed an inverse association between serum chloride levels and in-hospital mortality. As a tertile variable (Q3 vs Q1), the odds ratio (OR) was 0.73 with a 95% confidence interval (CI) of 0.54–0.98 (p = 0.039). As a continuous variable, per 1 mmol/L increment, the OR (95% CI) was 0.97 (0.96–0.99, p = 0.01). The relationship between serum chloride and in-hospital mortality demonstrated linearity (non-linear p = 0.958). Stratified analyses further validated the robustness of this correlation. Conclusions: Serum chloride levels exhibited a negative association with in-hospital mortality in patients with both congestive heart failure and diabetes. Immunocastration vaccines achieve their effects through neutralization of the endogenous hormone by the humoral antibody produced against the immunized genes, but there is little information regarding cell‐mediated immune response on the gonadal function of the immunized model is available. In this study, we used ram as a model animal to identify the cellular immune response in testicular tissues of rams immunized with intranasal KISS1 gene vaccine. The immune castration model was evaluated by sexual behaviours, spermatogenesis and serum hormone profiles after the KISS1 gene immunization. Transcriptome analysis of testicular tissues was carried out to identify the expressions of protein‐coding genes involved in cellular immunity. The results showed that we successfully constructed the KISS1 immune castration ram model, in which testicular growth and development, testosterone and kisspeptin‐54 levels, and sexual function were suppressed in immunized rams (p <.05). Using Hiseq™ 2000 high sequencing for ram testicular, we identified 21 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) related to cellular immunity, of which, 14 genes were upregulated and seven genes were downregulated in the testis of the immunized group (p <.05). The Gene Ontology (GO) and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment showed that these differentially expressed genes were enriched in the antigen presentation process mediated by MHC class I and the cytotoxic pathway mediated by natural killer cells. Background: Menstrual migraine is a particular form of migraine with a significant impact on the quality of life for women afflicted. Presently, no study has reported the quality of life in menstrual migraine patients. This work aims to assess the health-related quality of life and identify its associated factors among Chinese menstrual migraine patients.Methods: The cross-sectional study group consisted of 109 patients with menstrual migraine, and the control group consisted of 397 female patients with non-menstrual migraine. In total, 506 patients completed questionnaires for demographic and clinical information, the Self-rating Idea of Suicide Scale, the Hamilton Depression Scale, the Hamilton Anxiety Scale, the Headache Impact Test-6, the Perceived Social Support Scale, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Health-related quality of life was measured using the 36-Item Short Form Survey.Results: Compared with non-menstrual migraine patients, five dimensions of health-related quality of life were all found to be significantly impaired in menstrual migraine patients. Headache frequency (ß = - 0.218, P = 0.014), the impact of headache on daily life (ß = - 0.270, P = 0.002), depression symptoms (ß = - 0.345, P < 0.001) were significantly associated with physical component summary, depression symptoms (ß = - 0.379, P < 0.001), social support (ß = 0.270, P < 0.001), suicidal ideation (ß = - 0.344, P < 0.001) were closely related to mental component summary.Conclusion: Menstrual migraine patients had a significantly poorer health-related quality of life in many domains than non-menstrual migraine patients. STING (stimulator of interferon genes) signaling pathway has attracted considerable attention in cancer immunotherapy due to its capacity to boost vigorous antitumor immunity. However, the shortage of effective STING agonists limits the promotion of STING pathway in cancer treatment. Herein, we present an approach for in situ activation of STING pathway with nanoparticles delivered DNA-targeting chemo agents, based on the understanding that cytosol DNA is a pre-requisite for STING pathway activation. Through in vitro screening among several DNA-targeting chemo agents, we identified 7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin (SN38) as the most potent drug for stimulating interferon (IFN)-β secretion and proved that this process is mediated by the passage of DNA-containing exosomes from treated tumor cells to bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs) and subsequent activation of the STING pathway. Furthermore, we designed a polymeric-SN38 conjugate that could self-assemble into nanoparticles (SN38-NPs) for in vivo application. The SN38-NPs formulation reduced toxicity of free SN38, effectively stimulated the activation of STING pathway in E0771 tumors, and resulted in a tumor suppression rate (TSR%) of 82.6%. Our results revealed a new mechanism of SN38 in cancer treatment and should inspire using more DNA-targeting agents, especially in nanoformulation, for activating STING pathway and cancer chemoimmunotherapy. This vaccine strategy utilizes a peptide nanovaccine to elicit antigen-specific T cell responses after tumor-specific decoration with a nanocarrier containing the same peptide antigens. We demonstrated that a poly(2-oxazoline)s (POx) conjugated with OVA 257-264 peptide through a matrix metalloprotease 2 (MMP-2) sensitive linker could efficiently and selectively decorate tumor cells with OVA peptides in vivo. Then, a POx-based nanovaccine containing OVA 257-264 peptides to elicit OVA-specific T cell responses was designed. In combination with this hit-and-run vaccine system, an effective vaccine therapy was demonstrated across tumor types even without OVA antigen expression. Fabry disease (FD) is an X-linked recessive inheritance lysosomal storage disorder caused by pathogenic mutations in the GLA gene leading to a deficiency of the enzyme alpha-galactosidase A (α-Gal A). Multiple organ systems are implicated in FD, most notably the kidney, heart, and central nervous system. In our previous study, we identified four GLA mutations from four independent Fabry disease families with kidney disease or neuropathic pain: c.119C>A (p.P40H), c.280T>C (C94R), c.680G>C (p.R227P) and c.801+1G>A (p.L268fsX3). To reveal the molecular mechanism underlying the predisposition to Fabry disease caused by GLA mutations, we analyzed the effects of these four GLA mutations on the protein structure of α-galactosidase A using bioinformatics methods. The results showed that these mutations have a significant impact on the internal dynamics and structures of GLA, and all these altered amino acids are close to the enzyme activity center and lead to significantly reduced enzyme activity. Furthermore, these mutations led to the accumulation of autophagosomes and impairment of autophagy in the cells, which may in turn negatively regulate autophagy by slightly increasing the phosphorylation of mTOR. Moreover, the overexpression of these GLA mutants promoted the expression of lysosome-associated membrane protein 2 (LAMP2), resulting in an increased number of lysosomes. Virus-like particle (VLP) vaccines had shown great potential during the COVID-19 pandemic, and was thought to be the next generation of antiviral vaccine technology due to viromimetic structures. However, the time-consuming and complicated processes in establishing a current recombinant-protein–based VLP vaccine has limited its quick launch to the out-bursting pandemic. To simplify and optimize VLP vaccine design, we herein report a kind of viromimetic polymer nanoparticle vaccine (VPNVax), with subunit receptor-binding domain (RBD) proteins conjugated to the surface of polyethylene glycol- b -polylactic acid (PEG- b -PLA) nanoparticles for vaccination against SARS-CoV-2. The preparation of VPNVax based on synthetic polymer particle and chemical post-conjugation makes it possible to rapidly replace the antigens and construct matched vaccines at the emergence of different viruses. Using this modular preparation system, we identified that VPNVax with surface protein coverage of 20%–25% had the best immunostimulatory activity, which could keep high levels of specific antibody titers over 5 months and induce virus neutralizing activity when combined with an aluminum adjuvant. Moreover, the polymer nano-vectors could be armed with more immune-adjuvant functions by loading immunostimulant agents or chemical chirality design. Influence Maximization (IM) is an important topic in the field of social network analysis, and is widely used in viral marketing, recommendation systems, rumor prevention and other fields. The meta-heuristic method has excellent performance because of high scalability and low complexity, however, the objective function of existing meta-heuristic methods can only be applied to propagation models with small probabilities. In addition, there is room for further improvement in performance of meta-heuristic methods. In order to solve the above problems, this paper transforms the influence maximization problem into an optimization problem and designs a novel objective function based on the six degrees of separation theory of social networks. Then, with the designed objective function, this paper discretizes the harris hawks optimization (HHO) algorithm by redefining the energy and location representation rules for influence maximization problem. Experimental results on eight real datasets demonstrate that the proposed objective function exhibits high accuracy and generality, suitable for various probability propagation models. With the exploration and exploitation process in steps, dynamically using different strategies various situations, the proposed DHHO algorithm exhibits better performance in dealing with influence maximization problem, outperforming the state-of-the-art methods. Recently, a global outbreak of COVID-19 has rapidly spread to various national regions. As the number of COVID-19 patients has increased, some of those infected with SARS-CoV-2 have developed a variety of psychiatric symptoms, including depression, cognitive impairment, and fatigue. A distinct storm of inflammatory factors that contribute to the initial disease but also a persistent post-acute phase syndrome has been reported in patients with COVID-19. Neuropsychological symptoms including depression, cognitive impairment, and fatigue are closely related to circulating and local (brain) inflammatory factors. Natural products are currently being examined for their ability to treat numerous complications caused by COVID-19. Among them, ginseng has anti-inflammatory, immune system stimulating, neuroendocrine modulating, and other effects, which may help improve psychiatric symptoms. This review summarizes the basic mechanisms of COVID-19 pneumonia, psychiatric symptoms following coronavirus infections, effects of ginseng on depression, restlessness, and other psychiatric symptoms associated with post-COVID syn-dromes, as well as possible mechanisms underlying these effects. It is well known that Arctic sea ice and Arctic amplification have played an important role in recent climate change in middle to high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere. We present a high‐resolution elemental data set, spanning the past 9,000 years, obtained using in‐situ synchrotron radiation X‐ray fluorescence measurements of a lake sediment core from Lake Shuang in the Altai Mountains. Based on calibration against the local instrumental climatic record, the Rb/Sr ratio of the sediments is interpreted as an indicator of weathering intensity, which is related to precipitation and temperature variations. There is very little bromine in the granites and moyites in the catchment of Lake Shuang, and the sedimentary Br is derived primarily from wet deposition originating from precipitation and enriched by biogenic processes in this open lake system. The Br variation is positively correlated with local precipitation. The Rb/Sr and Br time series show distinct decadal‐scale to millennial‐scale cycles that are similar to those of Arctic sea‐ice variations, which implies the important role of Artic sea ice in modulating environmental change at Lake Shuang. Our results support a previous suggestion that sea ice loss would cause an increase in atmospheric water vapor content in the Arctic, resulting in the frequent incursion of cold air masses from the Arctic into middle latitudes, and leading to increased snow cover and precipitation, and vice versa. Highly elastic silicone foams, especially those with tunable properties and multifunctionality, are of great interest in numerous fields. However, the liquid nature of silicone precursors and the complicated foaming process hinder the realization of its three‐dimensional (3D) printability. Herein, a series of silicone foams with outstanding performance with regards to elasticity, wetting and sensing properties, multifunctionality, and tunability is generated by direct ink writing. Viscoelastic inks are achieved from direct dispersion of sodium chloride in a unique silicone precursor solution. The 3D‐architectured silicone rubber exhibits open‐celled trimodal porosity, which offers ultraelasticity with hyper compressibility/cycling endurance (near‐zero stress/strain loss under 90% compression or 1000 compression cycles), excellent stretchability (210% strain), and superhydrophobicity. The resulting foam is demonstrated to be multifunctional, such that it can work as an oil sorbent with super capacity (1320%) and customizable soft sensor after absorption of carbon nanotubes on the foam surface. The strategy enables tunability of mechanical strength, elasticity, stretchability, and absorbing capacity, while printing different materials together offers property gradients as an extra dimension of tunability. The prevalence of non-suicidal self-injurious (NSSI) in adolescents is high. However, few studies exist to predict NSSI in this population. This study employed a machine learning algorithm to develop a predictive model, aiming to more accurately assess the risk of NSSI in Chinese adolescents. Sociodemographic, psychological data were collected in 50 schools in western China. We constructed eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) model and multivariate logistic regression model to predict the risk of NSSI and nomograms are plotted. Data from 13,304 adolescents were used for model development, with an average age of 13.00 ± 2.17 years; 617 individuals (4.6 %) reported non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) behaviors. The results of the XGBoost model showed that depression and anxiety were the top two predictors of NSSI in adolescents. The results of the multivariate logistic regression model showed that the risk factors for adolescent NSSI behaviors include: gender (being female), Age, Living with whom (father), History of psychiatric consultation, Stress, Depression, Anxiety, Tolerance, Emotion abreaction. The XGBoost prediction and multivariate logistic regression model showed good predictive ability. Background: Despite the implications for tumor growth and cancer drug resistance, the mechanisms underlying differences in energy metabolism among cells remain unclear. Methods: To analyze differences between cell types, cell viability, ATP and α-ketoglutaric acid levels, the oxygen consumption rate and extracellular acidification rate, and the expression of key enzymes involved in α-KG metabolism and transfer were examined. Additionally, UPLC-MS/MS was used to determine the doxorubicin (DOX) content in SMMC-7721 and SMMC-7721/DOX cells. Results: We found that energy metabolism in SMMC-7721 cells is mainly dependent on the glycolysis pathway, whereas SMMC-7721/DOX cells depend more heavily on the oxidative phosphorylation pathway. Cell viability and intracellular ATP levels in SMMC-7721/DOX cells were significantly reduced by rotenone and oligomycin, inhibitors of oxidative phosphorylation. However, SMMC-7721 cell properties were more strongly influenced by an inhibitor of glycolysis, 2-deoxy-d-glucose. Furthermore, the suppressive effect of α-KG on ATP synthase plays an important role in the low levels of oxidative phosphorylation in SMMC-7721 cells; this effect could be strengthened by the metabolic poison methotrexate and reversed by l-(−)-malic acid, an accelerator of the malate-aspartate cycle. Conclusions: The inhibitory effect of α-KG on ATP synthase was uncoupled with the tricarboxylic acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation in SMMC-7721 cells; accordingly, energy metabolism was mainly determined by glycolysis. In drug-resistant cells, a remarkable reduction in the inhibitory effects of α-KG on ATP synthase resulted in better coordination among the TCA cycle, oxidative phosphorylation, and glycolysis, providing novel potential strategies for clinical treatment of liver cancer resistance. Bacterial infection is one of the most critical obstacles in wound healing, and severe bacterial infections can lead to inflammatory conditions and delay the healing process. Herein, a novel hydrogel based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), agar, and silk-AgNPs was prepared using a straightforward one-pot physical cross-linking method. The in situ synthesis of AgNPs in hydrogels exploited the reducibility of tyrosine (Tyr tyrosine) in silk fibroin, which endowed the hydrogels with outstanding antibacterial qualities. In addition, the strong hydrogen bond cross-linked networks of agar and the crystallites formed by PVA as the physical cross-linked double network of the hydrogel gave it excellent mechanical stability. The PVA/agar/SF-AgNPs (PASA) hydrogels exhibited excellent water absorption, porosity, and significant antibacterial effects against Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). Furthermore, in vivo experimental results confirmed that the PASA hydrogel significantly promoted wound repair and skin tissue reconstruction by reducing inflammation and promoting collagen deposition. Immunofluorescence staining showed that the PASA hydrogel enhanced CD31 expression to promote angiogenesis while decreasing CD68 expression to reduce inflammation. Thermo‐responsive dielectric materials are in urgent demand owing to the rapid development of smart electronic/electrical systems. Although different types and structures of thermally responsive dielectric materials have been continuously reported, their dielectric response behaviors all originate from thermodynamic phase transitions. Herein, it is demonstrated that structural relaxation in poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF), a non‐thermodynamic phase transition, can induce a significant thermal dielectric pulse at room temperature. The dielectric pulse strength of up to 6.3 × 105 at 20 Hz, with a dielectric pulsing temperature of 24 °C, is achieved from polyethylene glycol (PEG)‐PVDF coaxial nanofibrous films (PVDF@PEG), fabricated via a continuous blow spinning method. Moreover, the films exhibit excellent flexibility, adjustable strength and toughness, switchable hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity, and effective thermal management capability. The relaxation‐induced dielectric pulsing effect, outstanding multifunctionality, and simple preparation combine to promote further scalability and prospects of PVDF@PEG. Terahertz (THz) wave generated by femtosecond laser filamentation can spatially constrained inside the plasma channels. Our simulation results show that this constraint to THz wave will gradually weaken with the increasing THz frequency. At the same time, results also indicate that the higher plasma density possesses the stronger constraint. In addition, the model field radius and width of THz wave will become larger with the increasing plasma channel radius. This paper presents a water holdup prediction method based on support vector regression (SVR) for horizontal oil-water two-phase flow when using a bicircular conductance probe array that consists of 24 conductance probes. The support vector machine (SVM) was employed to establish a nonlinear SVR model mapping the probe array responses into water holdup directly. Experiments were carried out in the 16 m long and 125 mm inner diameter horizontal pipe of an industrial scale experimental setup. The experimental data obtained under 220 flow conditions were first divided into modeling data set and comparing data set. The modeling data set is used for establishing a nonlinear SVR and a linear least squares regression (LSR) models, while the comparing data set is used for comparing both models with the equi-weight and optimal weight estimate methods. Comparison results obtained by using the comparing data set show that when the binary data of the probes’ responses are used only, the measurement accuracy of the optimal weight estimate method is the best. If the analog data can be obtained, the measurement accuracy of both regression methods are better than those of both weighting estimate methods, especially, the nonlinear SVR method provide the best measurement accuracy. Subgrid data from earth system models are a powerful, yet underutilized, data resource for investigating the climatic impacts of land use and land cover change (LULCC). In this paper, we describe a global dataset on subgrid land surface climate variables produced by the Community Earth System Model in a fully coupled mode. The simulation was conducted at a 0.9° × 1.25° resolution under the Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 8.5 scenario from 2015 to 2100. Data are archived for eight subgrid tiles (urban, rural, tree, grass, shrub, bare soil, crop and lake) and include variables on the physical state, surface energy fluxes, runoff and atmospheric forcing conditions. Archival intervals are monthly, daily and hourly. Meta data on land surface parameters are also available. The data files are stored in NetCDF‐4 (Network Common Data Form, version 4) format and the meta data follow the latest Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6 standards. We anticipate that this dataset will become a useful resource for characterizing local climate changes due to LULCC. Sperm detection performance is particularly critical for sperm motility tracking. However, there are a large number of non-sperm objects, sperm occlusion and poorly detailed texture features in semen images, which directly affect the accuracy of sperm detection. To solve the problem of false detection and missed detection in sperm detection, a multi-sperm target detection model, Yolov5s-SA, with an SA attention mechanism is proposed based on the YOLOv5s algorithm. Firstly, a depthwise, separable convolution structure is used to replace the partial convolution of the backbone network, which can ensure stable precision and reduce the number of model parameters. Secondly, a new multi-scale feature fusion module is designed to enhance the perception of feature information to supplement the positional information and high-resolution of the deep feature map. Finally, the SA attention mechanism is integrated into the neck network before the output of the feature map to enhance the correlation between the feature map channels and improve the fine-grained feature fusion ability of YOLOv5s. Experimental results show that compared with various YOLO algorithms, the proposed algorithm improves the detection accuracy and speed to a certain extent. Compared with the YOLOv3, YOLOv3-spp, YOLOv5s and YOLOv5m models, the average accuracy increases by 18.1%, 15.2%, 6.9% and 1.9%, respectively. As a favorable candidate for the next‐generation smart electronic devices, thermo‐responsive dielectric materials are faced with two crucial challenges: insufficient mechanical toughness and lack of the combination of promising dielectric switching properties, desired mechanical properties, and long‐cycle stability. Herein, a new scalable strategy is proposed for designing thermo‐responsive dielectric switching materials that simultaneously integrate the individual features, such as promising dielectric switching properties, outstanding mechanical properties, and great cycle stability, into one gel, based on a new dual dielectric switching mechanism induced by interfacial structure evolution. The ionic gel can readily achieve a superb combination of distinct reversible dielectric bistability, a high dielectric switching ratio above 150, a ≈15 °C wide thermal hysteresis loop, and tunable room‐temperature dielectric transition behavior, impressive high ductility, desirable high mechanical strength, record‐high stability of at least 1000 cycles. Such an all‐in‐one design enhances the adaptability to multiple application scenarios, durability, and a lifetime of the dielectric switching gels. Together with the facile fabrication process and recyclable thermoplastic system, thereby contributing to cost and energy saving, this research provides a feasible and sustainable strategy for constructing highly desirable thermo‐responsive dielectric switching materials. Background: Among rural Chinese patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), low socioeconomic status increases the risk of developing NCDs and associated financial burdens in paying for medicines and treatments. Despite the chronic disease medicine reimbursement policy of the local government in Nantong City, China, various barriers prevent patients from registering for and benefitting from the policy. This study aims to develop a behavior science-based intervention program for promoting the adoption of the policy and to evaluate the effectiveness of the program compared with usual practices.Methods: Barriers and opportunities affecting stakeholders in adopting the policy were identified through contextual research and summarized through behavior mapping. The intervention is designed to target these barriers and opportunities through behavior science theories and will be evaluated through a 6-month cluster randomized controlled trial in Tongzhou District, Nantong, China. A total of 30 villages from two townships are randomized in a 1:1 ratio to either the intervention or the control arm (usual practices). Village doctors in the intervention arm (1) receive systematic training on policy details, registration procedures, and intervention protocol, (2) promote the policy and encourage registration, (3) follow up with patients in the first, third, and sixth months after the intervention, and (4) receive financial incentives based on performance. The primary outcome is policy registration rate and the secondary outcomes include the number of patients registering for the policy, medical costs saved, frequency of village doctor visits, and health measures such as blood pressure and glucose levels.Discussion: This study is one of very few that aims to promote adoption of NCDs outpatient medication reimbursement policies, and the first study to evaluate the impact of these policies on patients' financial and physical wellbeing in China. Coastal wetlands have great potential to mitigate climate change. However, in recent decades, the construction of aquaculture ponds has degraded coastal habitats, especially mangroves. Meanwhile, the lack of synchronized monitoring of carbon dioxide (CO 2) fluxes in coastal ponds and mangroves hinders the promotion of carbon neutrality target through the implementation of coastal wetland rehabilitation. To address this issue, we deployed two eddy-covariance systems in the ponds and nearby mangroves to measure the net ecosystem CO 2 exchange between atmosphere and ecosystems for two years. The results indicated that both the ponds and mangroves were CO 2 sinks at the annual scale, with mean net ecosystem production (NEP) of 123 ± 39 and 1296 ± 32 g C m−2 year−1, respectively. During the 2-year period, the ponds acted as CO 2 sources in certain seasons, while the mangroves displayed consistently high seasonal NEP. The construction of ponds by clearing mangroves would reduce NEP along the coasts of the Leizhou Peninsula by about 91% (96% for China), while abandoning all ponds for mangrove rehabilitation could have a significant CO 2 mitigation benefit (i.e., 214.7 Gg year−1). Moreover, we compared how CO 2 fluxes responded to global solar radiation and temperature by analyzing relevant parameters in the two ecosystems. Overall, the ponds showed lower light-saturated net CO 2 exchange and Q 10 values compared to the mangroves. Finally, we applied an advanced machine learning local interpretation algorithm to investigate the crucial drivers and their main effects on NEP. This analysis highlighted global solar radiation as the predominant driver for NEP in both ecosystems. High temperature and vapor pressure deficit inhibited mangrove NEP, particularly during summer, whereas pond NEP exhibited greater volatility in response to meteorological conditions such as temperature. Using nanotechnology for cancer vaccine design holds great promise because of the intrinsic feature of nanoparticles in being captured by antigen-presenting cells (APCs). However, there are still obstacles in current nanovaccine systems in achieving efficient tumor therapeutic effects, which could partially be attributed to the unsatisfactory vaccine carrier design. Herein, we report a mannan-decorated pathogen-like polymeric nanoparticle as a protein vaccine carrier for eliciting robust anticancer immunity. This nanovaccine was constructed as a core-shell structure with mannan as the shell, polylactic acid-polyethylenimine (PLA-PEI) assembled nanoparticle as the core, and protein antigens and Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist CpG absorbed onto the PLA-PEI core via electrostatic interactions. Compared to other hydrophilic materials, mannan decoration could greatly enhance the lymph node draining ability of the nanovaccine and promote the capturing by the CD8+ dendritic cells (DCs) in the lymph node, while PLA-PEI as the inner core could enhance antigen endosome escape thus promoting the antigen cross-presentation. In addition, mannan itself as a TLR4 agonist could synergize with CpG for maximally activating the DCs. Excitingly, we observed in several murine tumor models that using this nanovaccine alone could elicit robust immune response in vivo and result in superior anti-tumor effects with 50% of mice completely cured. Transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channels are cationic permeable proteins located on the plasma membrane. TRPs are cellular sensors for perceiving diverse physical and/or chemical stimuli; thus, serving various critical physiological functions, including chemo-sensation, hearing, homeostasis, mechano-sensation, pain, taste, thermoregulation, vision, and even carcinogenesis. Dysregulated TRPs are found to be linked to many human hereditary diseases. Recent studies indicate that TRP ion channels are not only involved in sensory functions but are also implicated in regulating the biological characteristics of stem cells. In the present review, we summarize the expressions and functions of TRP ion channels in stem cells, including cancer stem cells. TRPV4 (transient receptor potential vanilloid 4), a calcium permeable TRP ion channel, is known to play a key role in endocytosis. However, whether it contributes to exocytosis remains unclear. Here, we report that activation of TRPV4 induced massive exocytosis in both melanoma A375 cell and heterologous expression systems. We show here that, upon application of TRPV4-specific agonists, prominent vesicle priming from endoplasmic reticulum (ER) was observed, followed by morphological changes of mitochondrial crista may lead to cell ferroptosis. We further identified interactions between TRPV4 and folding/vesicle trafficking proteins, which were triggered by calcium entry through activated TRPV4. This interplay, in turn, enhanced TRPV4-mediated activation of folding and vesicle trafficking proteins to promote exocytosis. Our study revealed a signaling mechanism underlying stimulus-triggered exocytosis in melanoma and highlighted the role of cellular sensor TRPV4 ion channel in mediating ferroptosis.
