In this work, a calibration of ruby, samarium-doped strontium tetraborate (Sm2+: SrB4O7), and samarium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Sm3+: YAG) using Raman and fluorescence spectra was conducted within the temperature range of 296–850 K and pressure range of 0–55 GPa. The obtained calibration can be applied independently for high-temperature or high-pressure conditions and described as the unit form of P = (A′/B′) × [(λ/λT)B′ − 1] with A′ = A (296 K) + A1 × (T − 296) + A2 × (T − 296)2, B′ = B(296 K) + B1 × (T – 296), and λT = λT (296 K) + ΔλT, where the specific parameters are provided in the main text. It was observed that for the λ1 line (5D0 → 7F0 transition, about 685.2 nm under ambient conditions, also known as the 0-0 line) of Sm2+: SrB4O7, the neglect of the temperature effect on the pressure coefficient may lead to an underestimation of pressure above 35–40 GPa, with a maximum deviation of approximately 2.5 GPa within the range of 55 GPa and 850 K. For Sm3+: YAG, it may introduce significant errors under the whole high temperature and high pressure range if the effect of temperature is ignored, that is, about 3.9 GPa for Y1 line (4G5/2 → 6H7/2 transition, about 617.8 nm under ambient conditions) and 4.6 GPa for Y2 line (4G5/2 → 6H7/2 transition, about 616.0 nm under ambient conditions) at 850 K. Comparing the three fluorescence pressure sensors, the ruby has the strongest signal intensity and highest temperature sensitivity, and the Sm2+: SrB4O7 and the Sm3+: YAG possess lower temperature sensibility, wider used temperature range, and better spectral quality under high temperature and high pressure (HTHP), especially Sm2+: SrB4O7, which has a sharp high-intensity single peak λ1, perhaps the most promising sensor for high P–T experiments. Therefore, in view of the potential deflections of fluorescence peaks of each pressure sensor under HTHP, we recommend utilizing the HTHP-corrected relationships for pressure calibration. This study explores the effect of grandparental care with no parents at present on children's efforts, using the data from China Family Panel Studies from 2010 to 2018. In order to avoid the endogeneity of family childcare decisions, we use two instrumental variables (IVs): community caregiving rate (IVI) and whether the parent is born before 1978 (IVII). We find that grandparental care significantly reduces children's efforts, and the finding remains robust. The negative marginal effect of this care pattern is more pronounced in rural and middle school children. Compared with parental care, grandparental care has increased the parental fertility intentions and decreased parental involvement and supervision investment to children, which leads them to be more likely to spend time on recreational and non-academic activities. Thiosulfate leaching has been regarded as a promising alternative to cyanidation, but it still faces the challenge of the recovery of low content of gold from high concentrations of thiosulfate solutions. Liquid–liquid extraction is a method to address this issue but is still limited by the use of volatile and toxic organic solvents. To overcome this limitation, this work synthesized some functionalized dicationic ionic liquids (DILs) to serve as extraction solvents for the recovery of the gold–thiosulfate complex, [Au(S2O3)2]3−, from thiosulfate solutions. Experimental results indicated that the DILs showed higher extraction rates toward [Au(S2O3)2]3− compared with their monocationic-based counterparts, likely due to the stronger electrostatic interaction between the dications of the ILs and [Au(S2O3)2]3−. The transfer of [Au(S2O3)2]3− from the water phase to the IL phase was identified as an anion exchange and endothermic process. The rate of extraction was limited by the anion exchange process occurring at the IL–water interface. The extraction ability of ILs highly depended on the type of anion; specifically, the ILs with anions that had strong hydrogen-bonding ability exhibited high extraction ability toward [Au(S2O3)2]3−. Finally, DILs proved effective in the recovery of [Au(S2O3)2]3− from an actual gold leaching solution and exhibited high selectivity toward coexisting ions, indicating their potential as environmentally friendly solvents for gold recovery. Temperature‐responsive hydrogels including lower critical solution temperature (LCST)‐ and upper critical solution temperature (UCST)‐type hydrogels are attractive in various fields. However, the swift switch between LCST and UCST stimuli‐responsive behaviors remains intriguing and challenging. Here is reported a kind of hydrogel with pH‐gated LCST and UCST response behaviors. This is achieved using the hydrogen bonding between carboxylic acid groups of poly(acrylic acid‐co‐acrylamide) and hydroxyl groups of hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC). The poly(acrylic acid‐co‐acrylamide)‐HPC (PACA‐HPC) hydrogels exhibit pH‐gated reversible LCST‐UCST phase transition behavior. When the transparent PACA‐HPC hydrogel is placed in an acid bath, the COO− groups get protonated, rapidly forming hydrogen bonds with HPC to render a light‐scattering state making the hydrogel opaque. Furthermore, the opaque hydrogel exhibits UCST phase transition behavior at 20–45 °C. When the opaque PCAC‐HPC hydrogel is placed in an alkaline environment, hydrogen‐bonded complexes gradually dissociate as the COOH groups are deprotonated to form a homogeneous transparent state. The transparent hydrogel exhibits LCST phase transition behavior at 20–45° C. Therefore, is shown the hydrogen bonding strategy to fabricate hydrogels with tunable LCST and UCST responses. This work focuses on the transient process of thermoacoustic oscillation in a standing-wave thermoacoustic engine with gas–liquid coupling oscillation. Observing the transient evolution of the pressure amplitude shows that the on-off phenomenon can occur through adjusting the location of the stack in the acoustic field, and there exists a critical distance from the stack center to the pressure antinode for this phenomenon to occur. The analysis from the perspective of energy balance indicates that energy dissipation induced by liquid surface instability is a key factor contributing to the occurrence of on-off phenomenon. Through installing a submerged float into the liquid column to stabilize the liquid surface, the on-off phenomenon can be suppressed. Besides, the temperature difference for achieving steady thermoacoustic oscillation is decreased and the steady-state pressure amplitude is increased. In this work, the significance of liquid surface instability on the transient process of thermoacoustic oscillation is revealed and should be considered for better characterizing the dynamics of gas–liquid thermoacoustic engines. Compared to terrestrial transportation systems, the expansion of urban traffic into airspace can not only mitigate traffic congestion, but also foster establish eco-friendly transportation networks. Additionally, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) task allocation and trajectory planning are essential research topics for an Urban Air Mobility (UAM) scenario. However, heterogeneous tasks, temporary flight restriction zones, physical buildings, and environment prerequisites put forward challenges for the research. In this paper, multigene and improved anti-collision RRT* (IAC-RRT*) algorithms are proposed to address the challenge of task allocation and path planning problems in UAM scenarios by tailoring the chance of crossover and mutation. It is proved that multigene and IAC-RRT* algorithms can effectively minimize energy consumption and tasks' completion duration of UAVs. Simulation results demonstrate that the strategy of this work surpasses traditional optimization algorithms, i.e., RRT algorithm and gene algorithm, in terms of numerical stability and convergence speed. Background: This study aimed to explore the current knowledge level of breast cancer among rural women in Southwest China and analyze the influencing factors of breast cancer cognition. Methods: From May to November 2022, 1468 rural women were invited to participate in this study. Demographic information and the Chinese version of the Breast Cancer Awareness Measure (C-BCAM) were collected through one-on-one investigations. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and multiple regression analysis in SPSS 26.0. Results: The study included a total of 1468 rural women with a median age of 54.0 (IQR, 47.0, 60.0).The average score of breast cancer in the study population was 73.0 (IQR, 66.0, 82.0). Among women in Southwest China, the awareness rates of knowledge on breast cancer symptoms, barriers to seeking medical help, and risk factors were 68.8%, 98.4%, and 62.1%, respectively. The awareness rate was found to increase with higher education levels (P< 0.001) and decrease with increasing age (P< 0.001). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified three variables that might influence breast cancer awareness: education level, contraceptive measures, and history of breast disease (all P< 0.05). Specifically, history of breast disease (Odds ratio (OR) = 1.907, 95% CI = 1.128 ~ 3.223), middle school education (OR = 2.155, 95% CI = 1.585 ~ 2.928), and junior college education and above (OR = 5.536, 95% CI = 1.898 ~ 16.148) were positive factors for women's breast cancer awareness. Conversely, the use of intrauterine devices (OR = 0.523, 95% CI = 0.384 ~ 0.712) was found to be a negative factor for women's breast cancer awareness. Conclusion: This study highlights the insufficient awareness of breast cancer among women in rural area of Southwest China. Non-specific endonucleases can be used for the digestion of nucleic acids because they hydrolyze DNA/RNA into 3–5 base pairs (bp) length oligonucleotide fragments without strict selectivity. In this work, a novel non-specific endonuclease from Pseudomonas fluorescens (PfNuc) with high activities for both DNA and RNA was successfully cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The production of PfNuc in flask scale could be achieved to 1.73 × 106 U/L and 4.82 × 106 U/L for DNA and RNA by investigation of the culture and induction conditions. The characterization of PfNuc indicated that it was Mg2+-dependent and the catalytic activity was enhanced by 3.74 folds for DNA and 1.06 folds for RNA in the presence of 5 mM Mg2+. The specific activity of PfNuc for DNA was 1.44 × 105 U/mg at pH 8.0 and 40 °C, and 3.93 × 105 U/mg for RNA at pH 8.5 and 45 °C. The Km of the enzyme for both DNA and RNA was close to 43 µM. The Vmax was 6.40 × 105 U/mg and 1.11 × 106 U/mg for DNA and RNA, respectively. There was no observed activity loss when PfNuc was stored at 4 °C and − 20 °C after 28 days or 10 repeated freeze–thaw cycles at − 80 °C. Molecular docking revealed that PfNuc formed 17 and 19 hydrogen bonds with single-stranded RNA and double-stranded DNA, respectively. Wire hot extrusion was investigated to produce thin wires of metals and metallic matrix nanocomposites, including aluminum (Al), copper (Cu), and copper/carbon nanotube composites (Cu/CNT, 1%wt). A new energy-based analytical solution was developed to predict extrusion force, where friction effect between die and sample was considered. This analytical solution achieved a much better result than the classical slip line theory and other existing analytical solutions, where friction effect was usually not considered. Finite element (FE) models using ALE method were built to validate the analytical solution under different extrusion conditions. A series of FE simulations were run for different die angles (30°, 45°, and 60°) and two different area extrusion ratios (4:1 and 16:1). The comparison results showed a very good correlation between the analytical solution and FE results. Four wire extrusion tests of metals and Cu/CNT composite were conducted under elevated temperatures (about 300 to 700 ℃). Test results further proved the excellent accuracy of the analytical solution and the necessity of considering friction effect. Background: The chloroplast genome (cp genome) is directly related to the study and analysis of molecular phylogeny and evolution of plants in the phylogenomics era. The cp genome, whereas, is highly plastic and exists as a heterogeneous mixture of sizes and physical conformations. It is advantageous to purify/enrich the circular chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) to reduce sequence complexity in cp genome research. Large-insert, ordered DNA libraries are more practical for genomics research than conventional, unordered ones. From this, a technique of constructing the ordered BAC library with the goal-insert cpDNA fragment is developed in this paper. Results: This novel in-situ-process technique will efficiently extract circular cpDNA from crops and construct a high-quality cpDNA library. The protocol combines the in-situ chloroplast lysis for the high-purity circular cpDNA with the in-situ substitute/ligation for the high-quality cpDNA library. Individually, a series of original buffers/solutions and optimized procedures for chloroplast lysis in-situ is different than bacterial lysis in-situ; the in-situ substitute/ligation that reacts on the MCE membrane is suitable for constructing the goal-insert, ordered cpDNA library while preventing the large-insert cpDNA fragment breakage. The goal-insert, ordered cpDNA library is arrayed on the microtiter plate by three colonies with the definite cpDNA fragment that are homologous-corresponds to the whole circular cpDNA of the chloroplast. Conclusion: The novel in-situ-process technique amply furtherance of research in genome-wide functional analysis and characterization of chloroplasts, such as genome sequencing, bioinformatics analysis, cloning, physical mapping, molecular phylogeny and evolution. Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) provides an alternative for poor candidates of long-term oral anticoagulant (OAC) therapy; however, anticoagulant therapy after surgical procedures has limited use due to associated uncertainties. We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the short-term use of direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) and warfarin after LAAO. Electronic databases such as PubMed, Embase, Medline, and Cochrane Library databases were searched up to November 11, 2022. Our study compared DOAC therapy and warfarin in patients after LAAO. A meta-analysis was conducted with the Review Manager software (version 5.4). The meta-analysis included 13 cohort studies with a total of 32,607 patients. Our findings indicated that the incidence of stroke/TIA/SE, peri-device leaks>5 mm, device-related thrombosis , and all-cause mortality were not significantly different between the two groups after LAAO (P > 0.05). The DOAC group had a significantly lower incidence of major bleeding (OR = 0.83, 95 % CI: 0.74–0.94, P = 0.003), any bleeding (OR = 0.34, 95 % CI: 0.23–0.51, P < 0.001), stroke/TIA/SE and major bleeding (OR = 0.57, 95 % CI: 0.34–0.95, P = 0.03), and any major adverse event (OR = 0.89, 95 % CI:0.82–0.97, P = 0.010) than the warfarin group. The subgroup analysis revealed that the rate of stroke/TIA/SE was similar in the two groups in terms of the different regions, follow-up time, study type, anticoagulant strategy, and bleeding risk. The incidence of major bleeding in the DOAC group was significantly lower than that in the warfarin group in North America, as well as at follow-up period ≤6 months, retrospective cohort, HAS-BLED average score ≥ 3. In addition, the risk of major bleeding was higher with the combination of OAC and single antiplatelet therapy (SAPT) than with OAC alone. Finally, in the North American region, retrospective cohort, and HAS-BLED average score ≥ 3, the incidence of any serious adverse event in the DOAC group was still significantly lower than that in the warfarin group. Compared to warfarin, DOAC reduced the risk of major bleeding and any serious adverse event in patients after LAAO. This advantage was particularly notable in North America and high-risk populations for bleeding. In addition, the incidence of device-related thrombosis, peri-device leaks, stroke/TIA/SE and all-cause mortality were similar in both groups. The risk of major bleeding was lower in patients taking OAC alone compared with those taking OAC plus SAPT, without increasing the risk of thrombosis. • There is currently no unified standard for anticoagulation after left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) surgery. • In 13 studies revealed that the incidence of stroke/TIA/systemic embolism and all-cause mortality were similar between direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) compared to warfarin. Background: The aim of the study is to explore the role of preoperative folate receptor-positive circulating tumor cell (FR+CTC) levels in predicting disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinomas (ESCC). Methods: Three ml blood samples were prospectively drawn from ESCC patients, and ligand-targeted polymerase chain reaction (LT-PCR) was used for the quantification of FR+CTCs. Other serum indicators were measured by traditional methods. Clinicopathological characteristics were obtained from the hospital medical record system, DFS and OS data were obtained by follow-up. The correlation between clinico-pathological characteristics, DFS, and OS and FR+CTCs were analyzed, respectively. Risk factors potentially affecting DFS and OS were explored by Cox regression analysis. Results: there were no significant correlations between FR+CTCs and patient age, sex, albumin, pre-albumin, C-reactive protein (CRP), ferritin and CRP/Albumin ratio, tumor size, grade of differentiation, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, perineural invasion/vessel invasion (all P > 0.05). Nevertheless, preoperative FR+CTCs were an independent prognostic factor for DFS (HR 2.7; 95% CI 1.31-, P = 0.007) and OS (HR 3.37; 95% CI 1.06-, P = 0.04). DFS was significantly shorter for patients with post-operative FR+CTCs ≥ 17.42 FU/3ml compared with patients < 17.42 FU/3ml (P = 0.0012). For OS, it was shorter for patients with FR+CTCs ≥ 17.42 FU/3ml compared with patients < 17.42 FU/3ml, however, the difference did not reach statistical significance (P = 0.51). Conclusions: ESCC patients with high FR+CTCs tend to have a worse prognosis. FR+CTCs may monitor the recurrence of cancers in time, accurately assess patient prognosis, and guide clinical decision-making. Simple Summary: Milk replacer is recommended as an effective substitute when sow milk is insufficient or unavailable to meet the requirements of neonates, and the protein sources of milk replacer are vital for the intestinal maturation and health of neonates. In this study, we investigate the effects of SDPP or SPI partially substituting WPC in milk replacer on the growth performance, ileal morphology, nutrient digestion, immunity and intestinal microbiota of neonatal piglets. Our results confirm the efficacy of SDPP in milk replacer for improving the growth and intestinal health of neonatal piglets. Appropriate protein sources are vital for the growth, development and health of neonates. Twenty–four 2–day–old piglets were randomly divided into three groups and fed isoenergetic and isonitrogenous diets. The experimental diets included a milk replacer with 17.70% whey protein concentrate (WPC group), a milk replacer with 6% spray–dried porcine plasma isonitrogenously substituting WPC (SDPP group), and a milk replacer with 5.13% soy protein isolate isonitrogenously substituting WPC (SPI group). Neonatal piglets were fed milk replacer from postnatal day 2 (PND 2) to day 20 (PND 20). The growth performance, intestinal morphology, activities of digestive enzymes, plasma biochemical parameters, immunity–related genes, short–chain fatty acids (SCFA) and intestinal microbiota in the colonic chyme were determined. The results showed that SDPP–fed piglets had higher final BW (p = 0.05), ADG (p = 0.05) and F/G (p = 0.07) compared with WPC– and SPI–fed piglets, and SDPP–fed piglets had a lower diarrhea index (p < 0.01) from PND 2 to PND 8. SDPP–fed piglets had an increased ileal villus height (p = 0.04) and ratio of villus height to crypt depth (VCR) (p = 0.02), and increased activities of sucrase (p < 0.01), lactase (p = 0.02) and trypsin (p = 0.08) in the jejunum, compared with WPC– and SPI–fed piglets. Furthermore, SPI–fed piglets had an increased mRNA expression of IL-6 (p < 0.01) and concentration of plasma urea (p = 0.08). The results from LEfSe analysis showed that SDPP–fed piglets had a higher abundance of beneficial Butyricicoccus compared with WPC– and SPI–fed piglets, in which higher abundances of pathogenic bacteria such as Marinifilaceae, Fusobacterium and Enterococcus were observed. Moreover, SDPP–fed piglets had an increased concentration of butyric acid (p = 0.08) in the colonic chyme compared with WPC– and SPI–fed piglets. These results suggest that neonatal piglets fed milk replacer with SDPP partially substituting WPC had improved growth performance and intestinal morphology and function, associated with higher digestive enzyme activity and fewer pathogenic bacteria. Perovskite La2Ti2O7 nanocrystalline powder was obtained through the shock synthesis method. In the study, La2O3 and TiO2 powders were mixed through ball milling and, subsequently, shocked by a flyer at a velocity of 3.2 km/s. After shock treatment, the sample was recovered and characterized via various techniques, such as x-ray diffraction, Raman, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection spectrum analysis, to find the presence of La2Ti2O7 nanocrystalline powder with an average grain size of approximately 30 nm in the recovered samples with different yields. Moreover, the results further confirm that the high shock temperature and long ball milling treatment induce higher activation of precursors to improve the La2Ti2O7 content in the recovered samples. By adjusting the relative density of precursor and the ball milling period, pure La2Ti2O7 nanocrystalline powder was obtained. The formation mechanism of La2Ti2O7 was carefully illustrated. The development of anode materials with high theoretical capacity and cycling stability is very important for the electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). Herein, SnSe/NC hollow nanospheres with different crystal orientations were prepared by regulating the high-temperature selenization of the PDA@SnO2 precursor for lithium/sodium storage. In SnSe/NC hollow nanospheres, the physical buffering and chemical bonding of the nitrogen carbon matrix and SnSe nanoparticles could inhibit volume expansion and polyselenide loss, thus maintaining long-term structural stability. More importantly, electrochemical tests and DFT calculations show that the diffusion energy barrier of Li+/Na+ is significantly reduced at the SnSe (400) rather than the usual (111) facet, which is conducive to the uniformity of ion insertion into SnSe, thus effectively enhancing the reaction kinetics and reversibility of lithium/sodium storage. Therefore, SnSe/NC hollow nanospheres with rich SnSe (400) and good dispersion formed at 550 °C delivered the best reversible specific capacity and rate performance. After a long period of 900 cycles, the capacity retention of lithium/sodium ion batteries is close to 84.88% and 77.05%, respectively. Direct ascorbic acid fuel cells (DAAFCs) employ biocompatible ascorbic acid (AA) as fuel, allowing convenient storage, transportation, and fueling as well as avoiding fuel crossover. The AA oxidation reaction (AAOR) largely governs the performance of DAAFCs. However, AAOR electrocatalysts currently have low activity, and state-of-the-art ones are limited to carbon black. Herein, we report the synthesis of an unprecedented AAOR electrocatalyst comprising 3.9 ± 1.1 nm CeO2 nanoparticles evenly distributed on carbon black simply by the wet chemical precipitation of Ce(OH)3 and a subsequent heat treatment. The resultant CeO2/C shows a remarkable AAOR activity with a peak current density of 13.1 mA cm−2, which is 1.7 times of that of carbon black (7.67 mA cm−2). According to X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), the surface Ce3+ of CeO2 appears to contribute to the AAOR activity. Furthermore, our density functional theory (DFT) calculation reveals that that the proton of the hydroxyl group of AA can easily migrate to the bridging O sites of CeO2, resulting in a faster AAOR with respect to the pristine carbon, -COOH, and -C=O sites of carbon. After an i-t test, CeO2/C loses 17.8% of its initial current density, which is much superior to that of carbon black. CeO2 can capture the electrons generated by the AAOR to protect the -COOH and -C=O sites from being reduced. Finally, DAAFCs fabricated with CeO2/C exhibit a remarkable power density of 41.3 mW cm−2, which is the highest among proton-exchange-membrane-based DAAFCs in the literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A carbon nanotube reinforced fly ash concrete material was prepared by using concrete with a fly ash content greater than 50% as the matrix material and multi walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as nanofillers, and controlling the proportion of carbon nanotubes added. The influence of different carbon nanotube content on the mechanical properties and frost resistance of high volume fly ash concrete was studied through characterization test such as FT-R, SEM, mechanical properties and frost resistance. The results showed that the rich hydrophilic groups on the surface of carbon nanotubes promoted the hydration reaction, exerting a small-scale effect, increasing the proportion of hydration products, and making the coating of fly ash particles and aggregates more compact, residing in the formation of a dense microstructure of carbon nanotube reinforced fly ash concrete. When the doping amount of carbon nanotubes was 0.10wt%, the compactness of concrete was the best. The add-on of an appropriate amount of carbon nanotubes significantly improved the compressive strength of high content fly ash concrete at different ages, and the effect of carbon nanotubes on the strength improvement of concrete in the early hydration stage was stronger than that in the later stage. At the age of 28 d, when the doping amount of carbon nanotubes was 0.10wt%, the compressed strength of concrete reached the maximum value of 46.26 MPa. After 200 freeze-thaw cycles, the add-on of carbon nanotubes significantly improved the failure morphology of concrete specimens, refusing n a decrease in the number of detachment and cracks in the specimens. When the doping amount of carbon nanotubes was 0.10wt%, the minimum mass loss rate of the concrete sample was 0.34%, and the maximum compressive strength was 25.52 MPa, indicating the best frost resistance. Pathogenic bacterial infection is one of the principal causes affecting human health and ecosystems. The accurate identification of bacteria in food and water samples is of significant interests to maintain safety and health for humans. Culture-based tests are practically tedious and may produce false-positive results, while viable but non-culturable microorganisms (NCMs) cannot be retrieved. Thus, it requires fast, reliable, and low-cost detection strategies for on-field analysis and point-of-care (POC) monitoring. The standard detection methods such as nucleic acid analysis (RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) are still challenging in POC practice due to their time-consuming (several hours to days) and expensive laboratory operations. The optical (surface plasmon resonance (SPR), fluorescence, and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)) and electrochemical-based detection of microbes (early stage of infective diseases) have been considered as alternative routes in the emerging world of nanostructured biosensing since they can attain a faster and concurrent screening of several pathogens in real samples. Moreover, optical and electrochemical detection strategies are opening a new route for the ability of detecting pathogens through the integration of cellphones, which is well fitted for POC analysis. As an economically important legume, Vicia sativa is commonly used as fodder for livestock and in health‐promoting foods for human consumption; however, cold stress is one of the most important limitations to its utilization at high altitudes. The shoot tissues of three cold‐resistant (Lan1, Lan2, and Lan3) and three cold‐sensitive (368, 521, and 538) accessions were collected after cold (4°C) treatment for 0, 6, and 48 h to assess their molecular regulatory mechanisms during cold stress via integrative analyses of their transcriptomes and metabolomes. Our Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis showed that the biosynthesis of phenylpropanoids was the most enriched pathway in the cold stress response of V. sativa. A total of 18 differential metabolites were obtained in the biosynthesis of the phenylpropanoid pathway, and 722 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) showed a significant positive correlation with naringenin and p‐coumaric acid following a weighted gene co‐expression network analysis, while 84 DEGs showed significant negative associations. Moreover, four DEGs were overexpressed in yeast, and it was indicated that their biological function is to confer cold tolerance. These results provide a valuable resource for understanding the underlying molecular mechanism of V. sativa's response to cold stress and furthering the development of breeding research. Both graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) have found their application in catalysis and electronic devices owing to their unique π electronic nature. However, it remains unclear on how their sizes and growing modes influence their electronic properties. In order to extensively understand their structure–property relationship to stimulate and assist potential applications, in this work, the electronic structures of the polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polyborazines (boron nitride nanosheets, BNNSs) were analyzed by means of density functional theory calculations to investigate how the one‐ and two‐dimensional growth of their building blocks, benzene and borazine, respectively, may modulate/govern their aromaticity and reactivities. The analysis shows that the aromaticity and reactivity of PAHs exhibit significant response to their geometries, while the properties of BNNSs show strong localization nature and are nearly size‐independent. This unique nature of BNNSs is different from both the organic polyaromatic molecules and the inorganic metal/metal oxides whose reactivity may be significantly enhanced upon modulating their sizes, and offers implications in the design of new materials grafted by BNNS for manipulatable electronic properties. This study also brings caution on the application of widely used aromaticity descriptors, and shows that in general the descriptors derived from electronic structure are more reliable. Since masonry structures are prone to collapse in earthquakes, a novel joint reinforcement method with a polypropylene band (PP-band) and cement mortar (CM) has been put forward. Compared with the common reinforcement methods, this method not only facilitates construction but also ensures lower reinforcement cost. To systematically explore the influence of joint reinforcement on the seismic performance of masonry walls, quasi-static tests were carried out on six specimens with different reinforcement forms. The test results show that the joint action of PP-band and CM can significantly improve the specimen's brittle failure characteristics and enhance the integrity of the specimen after cracking. Compared with the specimen without reinforcement, each of the seismic performance indexes of the joint reinforced specimen had obvious improvement. China's Yangtze River Basin has an increasingly strong demand for crude oil. As a seaborne import port for crude oil, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port is under pressure to undertake the transshipment of crude oil to various oil terminals in the Yangtze River Basin. To alleviate the stress of crude oil transportation in Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the port operator proposed the crude oil sea–river transshipment scheme in Nantong Port. Therefore, this paper aims to verify the feasibility of this scheme. We used the discrete event system modeling and entity relationship diagram method to construct the hierarchical and concept models of the Yangtze River Basin's crude oil sea–river transportation system. Furthermore, we developed corresponding simulation modules on the Witness platform and carried out a simulation experiment of the crude oil sea–river transfer scheme. In the experiment, we analyzed the influence of the transshipment ratio on berth utilization, waiting time, and sailing time of other ports by adjusting the parameter of the transshipment ratio. The experimental results show that when the transshipment rate reaches 100%, the utilization rates of loading and unloading berth in Nantong Port are 4% and 13%, respectively, which evidences that Nantong Port has transshipment potential. At the same time, the simulation experiment's statistical indicators, such as the utilization rate of oil berths, the queuing time of oil tankers, and the sailing time, not only confirm the feasibility of the crude oil sea–river transshipment scheme of Nantong Port but also confirm that the scheme is helpful to improve crude oil transportation efficiency. The mustache toads Leptobrachium boringii and Leptobrachium liui are two attractive species in Megophryidae, in which adult males have mustache-like keratinized nuptial spines on their upper lip. However, both are under threat due to multiple factors, of which scientific studies are still very limited. In this study, two new complete mitochondrial genomes of L. boringii and L. liui were sequenced, assembled, and annotated based on next-generation sequencing. The mitogenome lengths of L. boringii and L. liui were found to be 17,100 and 17,501 bp, respectively, with both containing 13 protein coding genes, 23 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, and 1 non-coding control region. Nucleotide diversity analyses indicate that atp8, atp6, and nad2 showed higher nucleotide diversity than cox1, cox3, and cytb. The intraspecific genetic distances among three different populations of L. boringii exceed 4%, and those between two populations of L. liui reach 7%. Phylogenetic relationships support their division into two subfamilies of Megophryidae (Leptobrachiinae and Megophryinae) as well as two species groups within Leptobrachium, corresponding to the number of keratinized nuptial spines (10–48 in the L. boringii species group vs. 2–6 in the L. liui species group). The two new mitogenomes reported in this study provide valuable data for future molecular evolutionary and conservation studies of the genus Leptobrachium and other Megophryidae toads. Background: Tecarfarin (ATI-5923), a structural analog of warfarin, was designed to provide more uniform and stable anticoagulation. Objective: We aimed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profile of tecarfarin when administered in multiple ascending doses (MADs) to healthy Chinese volunteers. Methods: Forty healthy Chinese volunteers were enrolled into four sequential cohorts (10, 20, 30, and 40 mg), with 10 subjects in each cohort. Participants in the MAD study for each sequential cohort were dose-titrated to achieve the target international normalized ratio (INR 1.7–2.0) for 14 days. Safety and tolerability were assessed throughout the study. Results: The pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profile of tecarfarin was investigated in a healthy Chinese population. Dose titration of tecarfarin was necessary to keep the INR in the target range in all subjects in the 20, 30 and 40 mg cohorts and a few subjects (n = 3) in the 10 mg cohort. Tecarfarin was well tolerated without serious adverse events. Only one treatment-related adverse event (hematochezia) resulted in early withdrawal from the MAD 40 mg cohort. Conclusion: Tecarfarin was well-tolerated by Chinese volunteers. Dose titration was needed for tecarfarin doses larger than 20 mg to keep the INR in the target range. Summary: Spray cooling has a wide application prospect in the heat dissipation of high‐power devices due to its excellent heat transfer performance and low demand for working medium. In this work, an experimental setup was built to investigate the heat transfer characteristics of the deionized water spray cooling in the non‐boiling zone. Copper surfaces with different roughness conditions, as well as superhydrophilic/hydrophobic surfaces, were introduced to study the influence of surface property on cooling performance. Results show that no prominent change in heat transfer coefficient occurs due to the variation of roughness in the working conditions discussed. Furthermore, the superhydrophilic/hydrophobic surfaces experience a maximum reduction of 9.6% and 9.2% in heat transfer coefficient, respectively, compared with that of a smooth surface. Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that has various manifestations. Lupus nephritis is a common and severe presentation, which results in increased morbidity and mortality. Belimumab added on standard therapy has been proved to induce disease remission and improve renal parameters. However, the use of belimumab has not been explored in patients requiring dialysis treatment. Methods: Seven patients diagnosed as SLE with renal involvement requiring dialysis, who received belimumab in addition to steroids or immunosuppressants were identified. Clinical and biological data were extracted from medical records and laboratory databases. Ten mg/kg belimumab was applied on day 1, 15, 29, and every 28 days thereafter for a total of 8 dose. Renal parameters including urine output and serum creatinine level, immunologic index including anti-ds-DNA antibody titer and complement level, and disease activity were documented to reveal the response to belimumab. Results: After belimumab therapy, all the 7 patients receiving dialysis therapy showed immunologic improvement. Disease activity significantly declined from 16.5 to 5.33 using SLEDAI-2K score. Apart from patient 7 on maintenance dialysis, 5 of 6 patients had increased urine output and were out of dialysis treatment. Patient 5 and 6 showed significant decrease in serum creatinine level. Only one pulmonary infection was documented. Conclusions: Belimumab added to steroids or immunosuppressive agents was able to improve renal and immunologic parameters and decrease disease activity of SLE patients receiving dialysis treatment. To achieve the harmonious development of economic growth and the environment, nations must pay more attention to wastewater treatment and boost efficiency using green technology. This study applies the Malmquist-DEA model to assess the efficiency of green technology innovation in 19 Chinese wastewater treatment companies between 2017 and 2020. In addition, focus is placed on the core wastewater treatment technology of the companies with excellent performance, indicating how wastewater treatment companies may improve their green technology. The results of the study indicate that, first, the overall effectiveness of green technology innovation in companies follows a rising and then decreasing trend. In 2020, wastewater treatment companies' green technology innovation efficiency was around 17.4 percent lower than in 2017. Improving technical progress is the key to boosting the total factor productivity of wastewater treatment companies. Second, based on the Tobit regression, the shareholding ratio of companies has a positive influence on the technical efficiency of companies. Therefore, China should increase innovation capacity and productivity, adopt current sewage treatment technology from overseas, and thus gradually achieve clean sewage utilization and ecological environment management. To assess the distribution and factors related to intraocular pressure (IOP) in a Chinese children population in Northern China. 1,238 offspring aged 6 to 18 years, residing in six villages, were recruited for this current study, the Handan Offspring Myopia Study. Participants underwent an interviewer-administered questionnaire and a complete ocular examination, including standardized measurement of IOP with Perkins applanation tonometry. 1,648 eyes of 828 children were included in the analysis. The mean IOP was 13.9 ± 1.6 mmHg. The mean IOP for the study population increased from 13.0 ± 1.5 mmHg for those 6 to 7 years of age to 14.2 ± 1.4 mmHg for those 15 years of age or older (P <.001). The mean central corneal thickness (CCT) was 548.7 ± 32.1 μm, and had no difference among different age groups and gender. In univariate regression analysis, age (0.12 mmHg per 1 year old), height (0.09 mmHg per 5 cm), weight (0.02 mmHg per kg), body mass index (0.07 mmHg per 1 m/kg2), systolic blood pressure (0.06 mmHg per 5 mmHg), CCT (0.06 mmHg per 5 μm), and SE (−0.11 mmHg per 1 D) were correlated with IOP. In multivariate regression analysis, higher IOP was only associated with older ages (p =.002) and thicker CCT (p =.001). The mean IOP in healthy rural Chinese children aged 6–18 years is about 14 mmHg, which is lower than in adults in the same locality. This paper presents a triple rotating coordinate transformed vector control method for dual three-phase permanent magnet (PM) machines. In the proposed scheme, the control variables are converted to three sets of αβ components directly, which are 120° electric degrees different from each other. It omits the complicated six-dimensional transformed matrix and reduces the computation greatly. The relationship with vector space (VSD) control was mathematically analyzed. By ensuring the consistency of control variables in the three stationary reference frames, the suggested method can not only achieve the same fundamental control performance as VSD but compensate for the imbalance current caused by the harmonics in the back electromotive force. In addition, the proposed method belongs to multi redundancy control in theory, which is maybe a good solution for fault-tolerant operation. The coordination microenvironment of metal active sites in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) plays a crucial role in its performance for electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR). However, it remains a challenge to clarify the structure–performance relationship for CO2RR catalyzed by MOFs. Herein, a series of MOFs with different coordination microenvironments of Cu(I) sites (CuCl, CuBr, and CuI) to evaluate their performances for CO2RR is synthesized. With the increasing radius of halogen atom, the CO2 adsorption capacity increases and d‐band center of Cu positively shifts to the Fermi level, leading to enhance the selectivity of CO2 to CH4 conversion. CuI gives the highest total Faradaic efficiency (FE) of 83.2%, with a FE of CH4 up to 57.2% and CH4 partial current density of 60.7 mA cm−2 at −1.08 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode. Theoretical calculations reveal that the shifted d‐band center of Cu site contributes to reduced formation energies of *CH2O and *CH3O intermediates, which is the potential‐determining step of CO2RR and thus facilitates the electrocatalytic CO2 reduction to CH4. Treatment of Chiari malformation (CM) is controversial, especially when it coexists with "stable" or Type II basilar invagination (CM + II-BI). Precise evaluation of craniovertebral junction (CVJ) stability is crucial in such patients; however, this has never been validated. This study aimed to dynamically evaluate atlanto-condyle and atlantoaxial stability by kinematic computed tomography (CT) and report its surgical treatment. The study recruited 101 patients (control, CM, and CM + II-BI groups: 48, 34, and 19 patients, respectively). During kinematic CT, the CVJ stability–related parameters were measured and compared between the 3 groups. The surgical strategy for treating CM + II-BI was based on these results. Preoperative and postoperative images were acquired, and functional scores were used to assess the outcome. Among the 3 groups, the length of the clivus and the height of the condyle were the shortest in the CM + II-BI group, which was accompanied by the greatest rotation of the atlas and atlanto-condyle facet movement on cervical flexion and extension. Moreover, in such patients, increased Chamberlain's baseline violation indicated the aggregate invagination of the odontoid in the flexed position, and asymmetric displacement of atlantoaxial facets was observed. Seventeen CM + II-BI patients underwent surgical treatment with atlantoaxial distraction and occipitocervical fusion. The syringomyelia width and tonsillar herniation decreased significantly, and functional scores indicated symptom relief and good outcomes. CVJ instability, especially the ultramovement of atlanto-condyle facets, commonly exists in II-BI as evaluated using kinematic CT. The nuclear reactor coolant pump (RCP) is the key equipment of the Pressurized Water Reactor, of which the coolant circulation inherently brings flow fluctuation and, therefore, flow‐induced vibration exists, which is detrimental to the safe and stable operation of nuclear power plants. Experiments were carried out on a nuclear pump test loop to investigate the characteristics of pressure pulsation and vibration under various rotational speeds and operational temperatures. Signals of pressure pulsation and vibration synchronously measured from the sensors located among the test loop and the bottom of the motor were analyzed by the Root Mean Square and the Fast Fourier Transform methods. Pronounced pressure pulsation peaks corresponding to the blade passage frequency and its higher harmonics are captured, and pressure pulsation amplitude variations are closely associated with the sensor positions and operating conditions. Vibration magnitude along the outlet direction of the nuclear RCP is the largest and increases with the increasing rotational speed but not the operating temperature. Finally, a coherent analysis was conducted between the vibration at the bottom of the motor and the unsteady pressure pulsation in the test loop. Despite extensive research on the relationship between tourism and agriculture, the specific impact of tourism on agriculture's low-carbon transition has not been thoroughly investigated. This study analyzes the effects of tourism agglomeration on agricultural carbon intensity across 30 Chinese provinces from 2001 to 2020. It is framed within the context of rural digitalization, with a particular emphasis on the integration of agro-tourism and the total factor productivity of agriculture. Utilizing spatial econometric models, we find that tourism agglomeration hinders the low-carbon transition in agriculture by influencing carbon intensity both directly and indirectly. At the national level, the impact of tourism agglomeration follows an inverted-U curve with respect to agro-tourism integration and carbon intensity. At the regional level, the effects vary, with weaker indirect influences in major grain-producing areas. Furthermore, rural digitalization appears to lessen the adverse impacts of tourism on carbon intensity. This study also identifies significant spatial spillover effects from tourism agglomeration. The findings suggest that provinces with high tourist influx should enhance investments in climate-smart agricultural practices and technologies to counteract these negative impacts. Existing deep-learning-based pan-sharpening strategies mainly involve the fusion of panchromatic and multispectral (MS) information at both the pixel and feature levels. In this paper, we hypothesize that the MS image can be expressed as the multiplication of reflectance and illumination components, and that the reflection components of low-resolution (LR) MS and high-resolution (HR) MS images are invariant. Here, the spectral reflection component can effectively describe the spectral response of an object, while the illumination component can effectively describe its texture. Based on this hypothesis, we propose a novel and concise pan-sharpening framework called intrinsic decomposition knowledge distillation. Specifically, the teacher network decomposes the HR MS image into reflectance and illumination components, which are then combined in the student network with the reflectance component and the enhanced illumination component from LR MS to reconstruct the pan-sharpened image. To approximate the component distributions from the teacher network, we introduce a novel three-stage knowledge distillation strategy that can transfer knowledge about the relationships between components and constrain the student network. In order to investigate the effect of remifentanil combined with propofol on awakening of craniotomy for tumor, a retrospective analysis is conducted. 86 patients who underwent craniotomy for brain tumor in our hospital from July 2020 to December 2021 are chosen to observe the quality of awakening, hemodynamic parameters, and the occurrence of adverse reactions. All patients are divided into group A (n = 43) and group B (n = 43) according to the use of anesthesia drugs. The intraoperative awakening quality and the hemodynamic parameters during different periods of the two groups are compared. The experimental results show that the incidence of postoperative adverse reactions in group B is significantly lower than that in group A (P < 0.05). It is clearly evident that remifentanil combined with protocol has good intraoperative wake-up effect in craniotomy for tumor and maintain the hemodynamic stability of patients. A novel lysosome-targeting PEGylated polyester-based fluorescent pH nanosensor is fabricated by the combination of ring-opening copolymerization (ROCOP), side-group modification and subsequent self-assembly. First, a key target amphiphilic copolymer carrier for rhodamine (Rh) pH indicator is synthesized in a facile manner by the ROCOP of phthalic anhydride with allyl glycidyl ether using mPEG-OH and t-BuP1/Et3B as the macroinitiator and binary catalyst, respectively. Subsequently, Rh moieties are covalently attached on the polymer chain with controllable grafting degree via an efficient thiol-ene click reaction. Concurrently, the effect of catalyst systems and reaction conditions on the catalytic copolymerization performance is presented, and the quantitative introduction of Rh is described in detail. Owing to its amphiphilic characteristics, the rhodamine-functionalized polyester-based block copolymer can self-assemble into micelles. With the covalent incorporation of Rh moieties, the as-formed micelles exhibit excellent absorption and fluorescence-responsive sensitivity and selectivity towards H+ in the presence of various metal cations. Moreover, the as-prepared micelles with favorable water dispersibility, good pH sensitivity and excellent biocompatibility also display appreciable cell-membrane permeability, staining ability and pH detection capability for lysosomes in living cells. As a high-active metal-free electrocatalyst for NH 3 production via NO reduction reaction, honeycomb carbon nanofiber achieves an NH 3 yield of 22.35 μmol h−1 cm−2 with a high Faradaic efficiency of 88.33%. Herein, we report that honeycomb carbon nanofiber coated on carbon paper acts as an efficient metal-free catalyst for ambient electroreduction of NO to NH 3. In 0.2 M Na 2 SO 4 solution, such catalyst achieves an NH 3 yield of 22.35 μmol h−1 cm−2 with a high Faradaic efficiency of up to 88.33%. Impressively, it also shows excellent stability for 10-h continuous electrolysis. Theoretical calculations reveal that the most active center of functional groups is –OH group for NO reduction with a low energy barrier (ΔG of 0.29 eV) for the potential-determining step (*NO + H → *HNO). As an important source of protein for livestock and human consumption, Vicia sativa is cultivated worldwide, but its seed production is hampered at high altitudes because of the short frost-free period. Flowering represents the transition from a vegetative to a reproductive period, and early flowering benefits plant seed production at high altitudes. However, the molecular mechanisms of flowering regulation in V. sativa remain elusive. In the present study, two V. sativa accessions with different flowering characteristics were used: Lan3 (early-flowering) was cultivated by our laboratory, and 503 (late-flowering) was selected from 222 V. sativa accessions after three years of field experiments. The shoot samples (shoot tip length = 10 cm) of these two accessions were collected 63, 70, and 77 days after sowing, and the molecular regulatory mechanism of the flowering process was identified by integrative analyses of the transcriptomes and metabolomes. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment showed that the synthesis and signal transduction of plant hormone pathways were the most enriched pathways in 4274 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and in 259 differential metabolites between Lan3 and 503. Moreover, the contents of three metabolites related to salicylic acid biosynthesis and the transcription levels of two DEGs related to salicylic acid signal transduction in Lan3 were higher than those in 503. Further verification in various accessions indicated that salicylic acid metabolism may be involved in the flowering regulation process of V. sativa. Rotated object detection in aerial images is still challenging due to arbitrary orientations, large scale and aspect ratio variations, and extreme density of objects. Existing state-of-the-art rotated object detection methods mainly rely on angle-based detectors. However, angle-based detectors can easily suffer from a long-standing boundary problem. To tackle this problem, we propose a purely angle-free framework for rotated object detection, called Point RCNN. Point RCNN is a two-stage detector including both PointRPN and PointReg which are angle-free. Given an input aerial image, first, the backbone-FPN extracts hierarchical features, then, the PointRPN module generates an accurate rotated region of interests (RRoIs) by converting the learned representative points of each rotated object using the MinAreaRect function of OpenCV. Motivated by RepPoints, we designed a coarse-to-fine process to regress and refine the representative points for more accurate RRoIs. Next, based on the learned RRoIs of PointRPN, the PointReg module learns to regress and refine the corner points of each RRoI to perform more accurate rotated object detection. Finally, the final rotated bounding box of each rotated object can be attained based on the learned four corner points. In addition, aerial images are often severely unbalanced in categories, and existing rotated object detection methods almost ignore this problem. To tackle the severely unbalanced dataset problem, we propose a balanced dataset strategy. We experimentally verified that re-sampling the images of the rare categories can stabilize the training procedure and further improve the detection performance. Specifically, the performance was improved from 80.37 mAP to 80.71 mAP in DOTA-v1.0. Without unnecessary elaboration, our Point RCNN method achieved new state-of-the-art detection performance on multiple large-scale aerial image datasets, including DOTA-v1.0, DOTA-v1.5, HRSC2016, and UCAS-AOD. Specifically, in DOTA-v1.0, our Point RCNN achieved better detection performance of 80.71 mAP. In DOTA-v1.5, Point RCNN achieved 79.31 mAP, which significantly improved the performance by 2.86 mAP (from ReDet's 76.45 to our 79.31). Background: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is the most prevalent malignancy worldwide. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) circ_0006948 is reported to be upregulated in ESCC cells. Aims: This study is designed to explore the role and mechanism of circ_0006948 in ESCC progression. Methods: Circ_0006948, linear FNDC3B, microRNA-3612 (miR-3612), and LIM and SH3 protein 1 (LASP1) levels were detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Cell viability, colony number, migration, invasion, and apoptosis were examined by Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), colony formation, transwell, and flow cytometry assays, severally. Glucose consumption, lactate production, and ATP level were measured by the corresponding kits. Protein levels of hexokinase 2 (HK2) and lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), and LASP1 were assessed by western blot assay. The cytoplasmic localization of circ_0006948 was identified by the subcellular fractionation assay. The binding relationship between miR-3612 and circ_0006948 or LASP1 was predicted by starBase or TargetScan and then verified by a dual-luciferase reporter assay. The biological role of circ_0006948 on ESCC tumor growth was examined by the xenograft tumor model in vivo. Results: Circ_0006948 and LASP1 were increased, and miR-3612 was decreased in ESCC tissues and cells. Furthermore, circ_0006948 knockdown could suppress cell viability, colony number, migration, invasion, glycolysis, and boost apoptosis in ESCC cells. Mechanically, circ_0006948 could act as a sponge of miR-3612 to regulate LASP1 expression. In addition, circ_0006948 silencing inhibited ESCC tumor growth in vivo. Conclusion: Circ_0006948 boosted ESCC progression partly by regulating the miR-3612/LASP1 axis, providing an underlying therapeutic target for the ESCC treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Comprehensive Summary: Cyclobutane derivatives have been recognized as useful structural motifs in organic synthesis and drug design. With the revival of photochemistry, the enantioselective synthesis of cyclobutane derivatives using [2 + 2]‐cycloadditions has garnered numerous attentions. On the other hand, enantioselective functionalization of preformed four‐membered carbocycles is emerging as an important complementary approach to access chiral cyclobutane derivatives with versatile structural patterns. Herein, we summarize recent advances in this field from 2012. To avoid undesired C—C bond cleavage driven by strain‐releasing, it is crucial to choose compatible methods for enantioselective functionalization and meanwhile preserving intact four‐membered ring skeleton. Guided by calculated hydrogenation enthalpies, which are used to evaluate the strain energy of indicated C—C bond, a clear picture of the developed methodologies on functionalization of four‐membered carbocycles combining the strain energy and enhanced reactivity is presented. Glioma is a serious fatal type of cancer with the shorter median survival period and poor quality of living. The overall 5-year survival rate remains low due to high recurrence rates. Glioma stem cells (GSCs) play the important roles in the development of gliomas. Examination of the numerous biomarkers or cancer-associated genes involved in the development or prevention of glioma may therefore serve the discovery of novel strategies to treat patients with glioma. Hypoxia induced by using CoCl2 application and 14-3-3β protein knockdown by specific small interfering RNA transfection were performed in GSCs both in vitro and in vivo to observe their role in glioma progression and metastasis occurrence by using western blot analysis and MTT assay. The results demonstrated that CoCl2 application enhanced the 14-3-3β protein expression and mRNA levels via the PI3K pathway in GSCs. Furthermore, hypoxia promoted GSC cell proliferation and activated the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen, which was inhibited following 14-3-3β knockdown. In addition, tumor growth in mice was enhanced by CoCl2 application but reversed following 14-3-3β knockdown, which also enhanced GSC cell apoptosis. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that hypoxia promoted glioma growth both in vitro and in vivo by increasing the 14-3-3β expression via the PI3K signaling pathway. 14-3-3β and HIF-1α may therefore be considered as the potential therapeutic target to treat patients with glioma. Titanium niobate (TiNb2O7) possesses excellent photocatalytic properties, dielectric properties, and lithium-insertion capacity. High-pressure (HP) treatment is a powerful tool for bandgap engineering aiming at widening its applications. Herein, we report the growth of TiNb2O7 single crystals by the optical floating zone (OFZ) method and the engineering of the TiNb2O7 bandgap via HP. To obtain the physical mechanism of the bandgap variation under HP, the detailed pressure-dependent properties and structure information have been characterized by using in situ Raman spectroscopy and angle dispersive synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction (ADXRD). During compression, the TiNb2O7 crystals were amorphized and the amorphized phase was maintained under ambient conditions. Concrete surface cracks detection is an important task to ensure the safety of infrastructure. Because of the complexity of background and low contrast of concrete surface, it is difficult to detect the cracks on the concrete surface accurately. To tackle this problem, a multi‐scale dilated convolutional method for concrete surface crack detection is proposed to improve the accuracy of detection. The proposed network is based on the encoder‐decoder structure of U‐Net. Cascade multi‐scale dilated convolutions in the centre of the network is used to get larger receptive field without additional parameters. In the decoder stage, the feature fusion module is used to integrated the multi‐scale and multi‐level side network feature for the final prediction. A large crack dataset is collected as a training set and other three smaller datasets are used for evaluation. Extensive experiments have been conducted on these three crack datasets, which achieves optimal dataset scale (ODS) F‐score over 0.84, optimal image scale (OIS) F‐score over 0.85 and average precision (AP) over 0.86. Electrocatalytic nitrate (NO3−) reduction has emerged as an attractive dual-function strategy to produce ammonia (NH3) and simultaneously mitigate environmental issues. However, efficient electrocatalysts with high selectivity for NH3 synthesis are highly desired. In this work, we report the Co–NCNT nanohybrid as a highly active electrocatalyst towards NO3−-to-NH3 conversion. In 0.1 M NaOH solution containing 0.1 M NO3−, the Co–NCNT catalyst is capable of attaining a large NH3 yield of 5996 μg h−1 cm−2 and a high faradaic efficiency of 92% at −0.6 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode.
