В статье освещается период начала XX в., характеризующийся противостоянием политической элиты и народа в России, приведшим к политической турбулентности. Рассматривается общественно-политическая деятельность православного духовенства и его роль в монархическом движении, отношение клира к зарождающемуся институту парламентаризма и участие его в работе Государственной думы. Анализируется «глубинный мужицкий демократизм» — идеологический компонент, составивший основу правомонархического проекта власти. Особый акцент делается на внутренних противоречиях в черносотенном движении и роли духовенства в расколе правого движения. Рассмотрена роль «Союза русского народа» в исследуемый период, показаны причины, приведшие к уменьшению численности черносотенцев и снижению авторитета этой партии., The article highlights the period of the beginning of the XX century. characterized by the confrontation between the political elite and the people in Russia, which led to political turbulence. The socio-political activity of the Orthodox clergy and its role in the monarchical movement, the attitude of the clergy to the emerging institution of parliamentarism and its participation in the work of the State Duma are considered. It analyzes “deep peasant democracy” — the ideological component that formed the basis of the right-wing monarchist project of power. Particular emphasis is placed on internal contradictions in the Black Hundreds movement, and the role of the clergy in the split of the right movement. Досліджено роль Почаївського відділу Союзу російського народу в ускладненні міжнаціональних відносин на Волині під час Першої світової війни. Охарактеризовано комплекс заходів, які здійснювали чорносотенці в контексті урядової політики для дискредитації євреїв і німецьких аграрних колоністів. На основі опрацювання матеріалів періодики «союзників» обґрунтовано, що вони створили негативний образ ворогів імперії та православної церкви. Окрему увагу приділено висвітленню й аналізу безпідставних звинувачень євреїв і аграрних колоністів у «зраді» імперії, а також, виключно з пропагандистською метою, ворожих армій у злочинах проти цивільного населення та військовополонених. Це робилося з чітко визначеною метою — будь-якими способами дискредитувати опонентів. This research studies the role of the Pochaiv branch of the Union of the Russian People in complicating interethnic relations in the Volyn region during the First World War. Based on the materials of the periodical press of the ‘allies’, the author analyzes how the members of this Pochaiv branch created a negative image of the enemies of the empire and the Orthodox Church. Special attention is paid to the coverage and the analysis of the unfounded blaming of Jews and agrarian colonists for the «betrayal» of the empire. The author also shows that the Black Hundreds accused the army of enemies of committing crimes against civilians and prisoners of war. This was done with a clear propagandistic intention and in order to discredit opponents in any way. In this study, considerable attention is paid to highlighting the special role of the Black Hundreds in the implementation of domestic policy of the Russian Empire and identification of the key principles of their advocacy work in this area. Based on primary sources, the author of this article shows that during the First World War the Black Hundreds continued their activities aimed at discrediting other ethnic groups living in the Volyn region, primarily Jews and German agrarian colonists. Taking into consideration the situation in the empire during the war, the Black Hundreds intensified the anti-German vector of their propaganda work. German agrarian colonists were accused of «peaceful conquest of Russia», spreading Protestantism in the region, and cooperation with Kaiser Germany. In making these and a number of other accusations, the Black Hundreds failed to substantiate them with actual facts. Special attention should be paid to the analysis of publications about the alleged crimes of the Austro-Hungarian and German troops, and their abuse of Red Cross nurses, and prisoners of war in the pages of their press. However, in other publications, the Black Hundreds called on local residents to provide all possible assistance to prisoners of war, which contradicted their allegations of ill-treatment. The author also researched a number of articles regarding the situation in the counties liberated in 1916 and the destruction of Orthodox churches by Austro-Hungarian and German troops. However, these articles did not mention a single word about the criminal activities of the Russian army in the Volyn region, or the loss of civilians from ill-considered and irresponsible military activities. The author concludes that the Black Hundreds, moving in the direction of imperial propaganda, did everything possible to form the image of the enemy — a Jewish and a German colonist.

Роялистское восстание вандейских крестьян между 1793 и 1796 гг. сделало название региона ситонимом массовой контрреволюции низов. Неудивительно, что сторонники и противники большевиков старались найти параллели с Французской революцией, чтобы объяснить масштабность антибольшевистской оппозиции в отдельных регионах бывшей Российской империи. Аморфная популистская идеология черносотенства способствовала массовой поддержке в западных губерниях, предлагая всем считать себя жертвами эксплуатации и несправедливости по вине разных истеблишментов., The western French department of the Vendee has acquired a certain regional identity in the politics of historical memory not only of the French Revolution but also of the Russian Revolution of 1917-1922. The royalist rebellion of the Vendee peasants between 1793-1796 has become a synonym for a region of mass lower-class counter-revolution. Not surprisingly, both supporters and opponents of the Bolsheviks tried to find parallels with the French Revolution to explain the massiveness of anti-Bolshevik opposition in certain regions of the former Russian Empire. Often both Reds and Whites called the Cossack lands, especially the Don, the Vendee of the Russian Revolution. However, it is impossible to place an equal sign between the Vendee peasants, fighting for king and church, and anti-Bolshevik Cossacks and peasants because the Cossacks and peasants were not fighting for the restoration of the monarchy. One can find a Russian equivalent to the Vendee regional concept of mass counter-revolution in the nine western provinces of the Russian Empire in the Revolution of 1905-1907. These provinces, along with six other provinces, comprised the Jewish Pale of Settlement and became bastions of the Union of the Russian People and other Black Hundred organizations. Unlike the interior Russian regions, the western provinces were multiethnic and multireligious. The western provinces had mass protest movements and outbreaks of terrorism where ethnic, religious and social factors intersected. The amorphous populist Black Hundred ideology could attract mass support in the western provinces from all those seeing themselves as victims of all different variations of exploitation and injustices from the hands of different establishments.

Досліджено основні напрями діяльності волинських чорносотенців у Галичині на початковому етапі Першої світової війни, охарактеризовано комплекс заходів, який проводився у контексті урядової політики й був спрямований на посилення позицій православної церкви та послаблення впливів греко-католицької. На основі матеріалів періодичної преси проаналізовано, як створювався негативний образ противників імперської влади. Висвітлено надання допомоги районам потерпілим від ведення воєнних дій та проведення піар-кампанії чорносотенцями з цього приводу. The article explores the main directions of the activity of the Volyn Black Hundreds in Galicia at the initial stage of the First World War; it characterizes a set of measures conducted in the context of government policy and aimed at strengthening the positions of the Orthodox Church and weakening the influence of the Greek Catholic. On the basis of the materials of the periodical press, it was analyzed how the negative image of the opponents of imperial power was created. Despite the set of measures aimed at increasing the influence of the Russophiles as witnessed by the events of the near future, they did not receive much support in Galicia. Considering A. Sheptytsky as one of their enemies, the Black Hundreds conducted a campaign to discredit him in the eyes of society. The provision of assistance to the areas affected by warfare and holding of a PR campaign by the Black Hundreds in this regard are highlighted. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the socio-economic situation that developed in Galicia as a result of its occupation by the Russian troops in 1914 — 1915. It was also found that the Black Hundreds on the pages of their press accused the Austrian authorities of all the troubles, without noticing the downside and losses incurred by the region as a cause of the Russian army activities and warfare. As a result of the offensive by the Austrian and German troops in 1915, a part of the population was evacuated from Galicia. This evacuation was shown by the Black-Hundred press as voluntary, although in reality a part of the inhabitants of the region was forcibly removed in accordance with the order of the Governor- General of Galicia.

в работе проведена историографическая реконструкция концептуального обоснования террористической войны в России пореформенного периода. Концепция террористической войны рассматривается как альтернатива концепции российского освободительного движения. На основе исторических свидетельств «русских правых» проанализированы объективные предпосылки формирования концепции террористической войны. Показано, что в черносотенной литературе содержались основные определения революционного террора как тотальной войны, направленной на уничтожение русского национального государства. Приведены психодиагностические характеристики террористов русскими психиатрами. Рассмотрены историографические работы современных авторов патриотического направления, в которых была переосмыслена и дополнена концепция террористической войны, разрабатывавшаяся в черносотенной публицистике. Проанализированы статистические данные и исторические свидетельства современников о руководящей роли революционного еврейства в террористической войне. Рассмотрена проблема формирования активных участников и руководителей террористических организаций из черты оседлости, а также проблема спонсирования и идеологической поддержи антирусского террора спецслужбами западных стран. Затронут вопрос о способах и методах сопротивления русского народа революционным бандформированиям. Даны основные характеристики концепции террористической войны как антирусской, антигосударственной, преступной деятельности. В результате автор приходит к выводу, что концепция российского освободительного движения является паллиативной, идеологически односторонней, русофобской и не отражает объективных процессов антирусского террора. И, наоборот, концепция террористической войны позволяет исследователям раскрыть исторически достоверные факты и подойти к объективному изучению причин и специфики феноменологии терроризма в России., the work carried out a historiographic reconstruction of the conceptual justification of the terrorist war in Russia of the post-reform period. The concept of a terrorist war is seen as an alternative to the concept of the Russian liberation movement. On the basis of historical evidence of the «Russian Right», objective preconditions for the formation of the concept of a terrorist war are analyzed. It is shown that the Black-Hundred literature contained the basic definitions of revolutionary terror as a total war aimed at the destruction of the Russian national state. The psychodiagnostic characteristics of terrorists by Russian psychiatrists are given. The historiographic works of modern authors of the patriotic direction are reviewed, in which the concept of a terrorist war developed in black-hundred journalism has been rethought and supplemented. The author analyzed the statistical data and historical evidence of contemporaries about the leading role of revolutionary Jewry in a terrorist war. The reveals the issue of the formation of active participants and leaders of terrorist organizations from the the Jewish Pale, as well as the problem of sponsorship and ideological support of anti-Russian terror by the special services of Western countries. The author raised a topic concerning the ways and methods of resistance of the Russian people to revolutionary gangs. Given the main characteristics of the concept of a terrorist war as an anti-Russian, anti-state, criminal activity. As a result, the author comes to the conclusion that the concept of the Russian liberation movement is palliative, ideologically one-sided, Russophobic and does not reflect the objective processes of anti-Russian terror. Conversely, the concept of a terrorist war allows researchers to uncover historically accurate facts and approach an objective study of the causes and specifics of the phenomenology of terrorism in Russia.

З’ясовано роль чорносотенного СРН у загостренні міжнаціональних взаємовідносин на Волині на початку ХХ ст. Досліджено антипольський та антиєврейський напрями діяльності цієї політичної структури. Проаналізовано роль Російської православної церкви у поширенні ідеології чорносотенців на Волині., Выяснена роль черносотенного СРН в обострении межнациональных взаимоотношений на Волыни в начале ХХ в. Исследованы антипольский и антиеврейский направления деятельности этой политической структуры. Проанализировано роль Русской православной церкви в распространении идеологии черносотенцев на Волыни., On the basis of primary sources and scholarly works analyzed the negative role of the Russian reactionary NRF complication in international relations in the Volyn province in 1906–1914. Particular attention is paid to the elucidation of the structure of this political effort to discredit in the eyes of the general population of Polish Catholics and Jews. Determining in relation to members of other ethnic groups from the Russian Black Hundreds were their denominational affiliation and nationality. For anti-Catholic activities that rapidly developed in the region of the Black Hundreds began after the revolution in 1905 and although the Volyn large anti-government protests did not occur, however, much of the province’s population belonged negatively to the Russian authorities. It should be noted that the Poles at that time were the third largest ethnic group of the province’s population, but accounted for most of the landowners in the region, and efforts by Russian authorities to weaken the Polish land ownership on the Right Bank Ukraine did not give the desired results for the government. Another factor that influenced the situation was a sharp increase in the number of Catholics in Volyn in the study period. This was not only due to the natives of the Kingdom of Poland, but also due to return to the Catholic faith of Poles after the defeat of the Polish uprising accepted the Orthodox faith. The attack on the Polish population of Volyn, accompanied by involvement in the case of the Orthodox clergy from the Black Hundreds, received an adequate response on the part of the Polish population. Those unfounded allegations of all the "deadly sins" that demagogic advanced Russian Black Hundreds Poles and priests complicated internal situation in the region intensified inter-confessional conflict between Catholics and Orthodox, which by the way at that time was provoked by Russian reactionary clergy. Relationships were difficult between Jews and the Black Hundreds. Blatant anti-Semitic propaganda representatives of the political forces led to the aggravation of Russian-Jewish relations in Volyn in the early twentieth century. This position is for Jews on their part was due to the support of these ideas and authorities. Constant pressure and libel against Jews also contributed complication of Russian-Jewish relations in the region. These activities contributed to NRF reactionary aggravation of interethnic relations in Volyn before World War I.
