Background: Breast cancer treatment prioritizes molecular subtypes over histologic types. However, considering the unique biological behavior of invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC), its diagnosis is crucial for patient management. Therefore, this study aimed to review breast cancer cases, focusing on the E-cadherin patterns and lobular morphology of cases misclassified in the original reports. Methods: A comprehensive review was conducted on 481 breast cancer biopsy cases diagnosed as invasive breast carcinoma of no special type (IBC-NST) or ILC with E-cadherin staining. These cases were categorized into six groups based on tumor morphology (ductal/lobular) and E-cadherin expression pattern (membranous/loss/aberrant): (1) ductal/membranous, (2) lobular/loss, (3) lobular/aberrant, (4) mixed, (5) ductal/loss or aberrant, and (6) lobular/membranous. Results: In 211 cases (43.8%), an E-cadherin pattern indicating ILC (loss and aberrant) was observed alongside lobular morphology, representing 5.52% of all breast cancer biopsies during the relevant period. Moreover, 181 cases (37.6%) showed a membranous pattern with ductal morphology, 4 (0.8%) were mixed IBC-NST and ILC, and 85 (17.7%) exhibited discordance between morphology and E-cadherin expression. Notably, only 25.9% (15/58) of cases in group 3, characterized by aberrant E-cadherin patterns, were initially diagnosed as ILC, highlighting a significant diagnostic discrepancy. In group 6, where membranous E-cadherin pattern was present with lobular morphology, only 3.4% (2/58) were diagnosed as ILC in the original reports, indicating diagnostic challenges in morphology and immunohistochemistry discordance. Similarly, in group 5, which had ductal morphology with loss or aberrant E-cadherin expression, the initial diagnosis rate of IBC-NST was 33.3% (9/27), reflecting the complexities in interpreting discordant cases. Conclusions: In real-world practice, diagnosing ILC often heavily depends on E-cadherin results. Introduction: Significant progress has been made in the targeted therapy of metastatic breast cancer (mBC) in recent years. In this context, new biomarkers enable personalized therapy management and individualized therapy monitoring. Therefore, the systemic treatment is based increasingly on the biological characteristics of the tumor disease. Given the challenges of obtaining fresh tumor tissue through biopsies, the significance of liquid biopsies for assessing circulating tumor cells (CTCs) or circulating tumor DNA is of growing importance for the detection of prognostic and predictive biomarkers. Multiple studies have shown that the number of CTCs decreases under therapy, especially under anti-HER2-targeted therapy, and that the expression of the HER2 status on CTCs could play a role in predicting therapy response and therapeutic monitoring. The aim of this study was to analyze the HER2 status of CTCs in mBC patients before and after 3 months of systemic therapy to evaluate changes in the number of HER2-positive CTCs. The study focuses on HER2-low, which plays an increasingly important role in clinical practice due to new developments of HER2 targeting antibody-drug conjugates. In this context, temporal and spatial heterogeneity of the disease represent a major diagnostic challenge. Methods: A total of 324 patients with complete immunohistochemistry of biopsied metastases were divided into five groups: HER2 negative (−)/hormone receptor (HR) negative (−), HER2 −/HR positive (+), HER2 +/HR±, HER2-low/HR+, and HER2-low/HR−. Before and after 3 months of a new therapeutic line for mBC, CTCs were enumerated and analyzed for HER2 expression using the CellSearch® system. Overall survival of all subgroups was calculated. Results: The analyses revealed a discrepancy between the HER2 status of CTCs and corresponding tumor tissues in 98 patients (30.2%). The number of CTCs in general and the number of HER2+ CTCs decreased during systemic treatment, mainly in HER2+ tumors, but also in the other subgroups. Conclusions: Discrepancy in the HER2 status of the metastases and of CTCs was observed in approximately one-third of patients. Measuring HER2 on CTCs could potentially offer a means to longitudinally monitor HER2 status during therapy and simultaneously address challenges such as tumor heterogeneity. Accumulating evidence supports the presence of a general psychopathology dimension, the p factor ('p'). Despite growing interest in the p factor, questions remain about how p is assessed. Although multi-informant assessment of psychopathology is commonplace in clinical research and practice with children and adolescents, almost no research has taken a multi-informant approach to studying youth p or has examined the degree of concordance between parent and youth reports. Further, estimating p requires assessment of a large number of symptoms, resulting in high reporter burden that may not be feasible in many clinical and research settings. In the present study, we used bifactor multidimensional item response theory models to estimate parent- and adolescent-reported p in a large community sample of youth (11–17 years) and parents (N = 5,060 dyads). We examined agreement between parent and youth p scores and associations with assessor-rated youth global functioning. We also applied computerized adaptive testing (CAT) simulations to parent and youth reports to determine whether adaptive testing substantially alters agreement on p or associations with youth global functioning. Parent-youth agreement on p was moderate (r =.44) and both reports were negatively associated with youth global functioning. Notably, 7 out of 10 of the highest loading items were common across reporters. CAT reduced the average number of items administered by 57%. Agreement between CAT-derived p scores was similar to the full form (r =.40) and CAT scores were negatively correlated with youth functioning. Objective: This study examined family routines in relation to the strength of parent–child developmental relationships and discordant perceptions among parents and their adolescent children. Background: Positive parent–child relationships and regular engagement in family routines are known to create a positive environment in which adolescents can thrive. Yet both parents and their children hold unique perspectives on family structure and functioning. Agreement between parent and child reports tend to be low and often become increasingly discrepant during adolescence. Engaging in consistent and predictable family routines may not only strengthen parent–child relationships but also result in more concordant perceptions of the quality of their shared relationship. Method: Using data from 633 matched parents and their children, we examined the association between engagement in family routines and the strength of parent–adolescent relationships including discrepant reports using a latent congruence model. Results: Family routines were positively associated with stronger parent–adolescent relationships and less discrepant reports of this critical relationship. Conclusion: Engagement in family routines plays an important role in parent–adolescent developmental relationships. Implications: Findings have important implications for practices and research focused on improving adolescent outcomes through family structures and parent–child relationships. Background/Objectives: There seems to be a global reduction in the number of clinical post-mortems requested and performed worldwide, suggesting a decreasing need for post-mortem examinations. Despite advances in medical technology, autopsies remain a relevant tool to determine cause of death. Methods: A total of 276 post-mortem results were extracted from the NHLS lab track database, of which only 152 were included in this study. Discrepancies between ante and post-mortem diagnoses were evaluated using the Goldman classification. Data were analysed using STATA-18. Results: The sample consisted largely of females (n = 101, 66.45%) aged 30 and above (n = 58, 33.80%), with a mean age of 28.3. Of the 152 samples analysed, 60% (n = 92) of all postmortems showed a correlation between ante- and post-mortem diagnoses. However, 29.1% (n = 45) of cases showed major discrepancies which could have been prevented if correct diagnoses were made. Metabolic diseases were most frequently misdiagnosed (p = 0.020), with more cases of Class I discrepancies than Class V discrepancies (15.5% (n = 7) vs. 2.1% (n = 2), respectively. Additionally, infections (n = 59; 39%) were the most common cause of death. Conclusions: Even with marked improvements in diagnostic technology, a post-mortem examination is a necessary quality control tool that can be used to verify cause of death, and thus improve clinical practice. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to improve life and reduce risks by providing large amounts of information embedded in big databases and by suggesting or implementing automated decisions under uncertainties. Yet, in the design of a prescriptive AI algorithm, some problems may occur, first and clearly, if the AI information is wrong or incomplete. But the main point of this article is that under uncertainties, the decision algorithm, rational or not, includes, in one way or another, a risk attitude in addition to deterministic preferences. That risk attitude implemented in the software is chosen by the analysts, the organization that they serve, the experts who inform them, and more generally by the process of identifying possible options. The problem is that it may or may not represent, as it should, the preferences of the actual decision maker (the risk manager) and of the people subjected to his/her decisions. This article briefly describes the sometimes‐serious problem of that discrepancy between the preferences of the risk managers who use an AI output, and the risk attitude embedded in the AI system. The recommendation is to make these AI factors as accessible and transparent as possible and to allow for preference adjustments in the model if needed. The formulation of two simplified examples is described, that of a medical doctor and his/her patient when using an AI system to decide of a treatment option, and that of a skipper in a sailing race such as the America's Cup, receiving AI‐processed sensor signals about the sailing conditions on different possible courses. Abstract: The current study investigated how a partner falling short of the desired standard may act as a mediator in the association between attachment orientations and the strategies people use to change qualities of their partners (termed partner regulation). The proposed mediation model was tested on a large sample (N = 965) recruited from the community. The results revealed that for attachment anxiety, evaluating a partner as falling short of the ideal standards of warmth and status mediated associations with negative and positive regulation strategies. Objectives: This study aimed to identify discrepancies between Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) vaccine licensure indications and directorate of communicable diseases (DCD) on immunization practices recommendations and assess the knowledge, practices, and attitudes of healthcare providers regarding these discrepancies. Study Design: A cross-sectional study. Methods: Data was extracted from Jordan National Drug Formulary documents, and corresponding information was collected from the DCD at the ministry of health and the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group. Self-administered Survey was used to assess knowledge and practices of paediatricians and gynaecologists related to vaccine licensure indications and recommendations differences. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. Results: Twelve cases of discrepancies were identified and, mainly were related to age indications, administration schedules, and management differences. The survey included 116 gynaecologists and 100 paediatricians with an overall response rate of approximately 46% and 50%, respectively. A total of fifty-nine gynaecologists (50.9%) correctly responded that only the JFDA licensure indications in the package inserts were required before vaccines may be marketed and only 44 paediatricians (n=44, 44%) correctly responded that only the DCD at the ministry of health is the lead organization that makes recommendations for vaccine use in Jordan. Analysis shows that only 64.7% (n=75) of gynaecologists and one-third (n=27, 27%) of paediatricians were aware of the differences between JFDA licensure and the DCD at the ministry of health recommendations for any specific vaccine. Most gynaecologists (n=81, 69.8%) and almost half of the paediatricians (n=46, 46%) stated that they follow publications from specific guidelines as the primary source of information on immunization schedules and vaccine recommendations. Conclusions: The findings suggest a need for better communication and coordination between regulatory bodies and healthcare providers to ensure consistent and evidence-based immunization practices.. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the status of antimicrobial‐resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus in Pakistan, their association in terms of co‐occurrence with the biofilm‐forming genes, resistance profiling and associated discrepancies in diagnostic methods. Methodology: A total of 384 milk samples from bovine was collected by using convenient sampling technique and were initially screened for subclinical mastitis, further preceded by isolation and confirmation of S. aureus. The S. aureus isolates were subjected to evaluation of antimicrobial resistance by phenotypic identification using Kirby–Bauer disc diffusion method, while the genotypic estimation was done by polymerase chain reaction to declare isolates as methicillin, beta‐lactam, vancomycin, tetracycline, and aminoglycoside resistant S. aureus (MRSA, BRSA, VRSA, TRSA, and ARSA), respectively. Results: The current study revealed an overall prevalence of subclinical mastitis and S. aureus to be 59.11% and 46.69%, respectively. On a phenotypic basis, the prevalence of MRSA, BRSA, VRSA, TRSA, and ARSA was found to be 44.33%, 58.49%, 20.75%, 35.84%, and 30.18%, respectively. The results of PCR analysis showed that 46.80% of the tested isolates were declared as MRSA, 37.09% as BRSA, and 36.36% as VRSA, while the occurrence of TRSA and ARSA was observed in 26.31% and 18.75%, respectively. The current study also reported the existence of biofilm‐producing genes (icaA and icaD) in 49.06% and 40.57% isolates, respectively. Lastly, this study also reported a high incidence of discrepancies for both genotypic and phenotypic identification methods of resistance evaluation, with the highest discrepancy ratio for the accA‐aphD gene, followed by tetK, vanB, blaZ, and mecA genes. Conclusion: The study concluded that different antibiotic resistance strains of S. aureus are prevalent in study districts with high potential to transmit between human populations. The study also determined that there are multiple resistance determinants and mechanisms that are responsible for the silencing and expression of antibiotic resistance genes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In recent years, corporate social responsibility has emerged as a pivotal factor for corporations in cultivating a favorable public perception. Despite this, many companies remain uncertain about the integration and rationale behind incorporating it into their core business strategies. This study aims to discern dissimilarities in implementing corporate social responsibility initiatives between Slovak and Czech companies, addressing the triple bottom line framework. This approach is a metric for evaluating a company’s achievement across three dimensions: social, environmental, and economic. The study is predicated on a questionnaire survey conducted among a sample of 180 Slovak and 180 Czech companies operating as subsidiaries of multinational corporations as typical implementers of corporate social responsibility activities in emerging economies. Following the triple bottom line framework, three distinct sets of variables were formulated to account for social, environmental, and economic activities using the Mann-Whitney U Test to ascertain statistically significant disparities between Slovak and Czech companies. The findings indicate that the surveyed companies from monitored countries exhibited no notable distinctions in environmental endeavors. However, discrepancies were discerned in economic activities, specifically relating to post-sales or post-warranty customer services, which was significant with a small effect size (0.19). In social activities, significant differences were observed concerning adherence to the principle of equal opportunities in the workplace. Based on these outcomes, it is recommended that future investigations delve more extensively into the monitored parameters within the Visegrad countries. Background: Toxicity or treatment failure related to drug-drug interactions (DDIs) are known to significantly affect morbidity and hospitalization rates. Despite the availability of numerous databases for DDIs identification and management, their information often differs. Oral anticoagulants are deemed at risk of DDIs and a leading cause of adverse drug events, most of which being preventable. Although many databases include DDIs involving anticoagulants, none are specialized in them. Aim and method: This study aims to compare the DDIs information content of four direct oral anticoagulants and two vitamin K antagonists in three major DDI databases used in Switzerland: Lexi-Interact, Pharmavista, and MediQ. It evaluates the consistency of DDIs information in terms of differences in severity rating systems, mechanism of interaction, extraction and documentation processes and transparency. Results: This study revealed 2'496 DDIs for the six anticoagulants, with discrepant risk classifications. Only 13.2% of DDIs were common to all three databases. Overall concordance in risk classification (high, moderate, and low risk) was slight (Fleiss' kappa = 0.131), while high-risk DDIs demonstrated a fair agreement (Fleiss' kappa = 0.398). The nature and the mechanism of the DDIs were more consistent across databases. Qualitative assessments highlighted differences in the documentation process and transparency, and similarities for availability of risk classification and references. Discussion: This study highlights the discrepancies between three commonly used DDI databases and the inconsistency in how terminology is standardised and incorporated when classifying these DDIs. Whether parental educational expectations for adolescents serve as a source of motivation or stress depends on the extent to which adolescents hold expectations for themselves. Previous research on the discrepancies between parental and adolescent educational expectations and their impact on learning engagement has been limited by traditional statistical tests, and lacking an examination of the internal mediating mechanism of parent–child relational quality from both parental and adolescent perspectives. This crosssectional study, utilizing a multi-informant design, examined the association between discrepancies in parents’ and adolescents’ reports of expectations, and adolescents’ study engagement, as well as the mediating role of parent– child relational qualities perceived by both parties. The sample for this study consisted of 455 adolescents and their parents from 10 classes in a junior high school in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The adolescents had an average age of 12.8 years, and 51.6% of them were boys. Both parents and adolescents reported on their expectations and perceived relational quality, while adolescents also filled out questionnaires assessing their learning engagement. Data were analyzed using polynomial regressions with response surface analysis. The results revealed that when adolescents reported high expectations, regardless of whether their parents reported high or low expectations, adolescents reported satisfied relationships and high learning engagement. In contrast, parents reported satisfied relationships when both parties reported high expectations, or when parents reported higher expectations than adolescents. Lastly, the association between discrepancies in expectations and learning engagement was significantly mediated by adolescent-reported relationships but not parent-reported ones. These findings highlight the importance of considering multiple perspectives when studying the association between expectations and adolescent study engagement. This research advances our comprehension of the dynamics between parent-adolescent educational expectation discrepancies and adolescent learning engagement, offering insights for more nuanced and effective parenting strategies tailored to foster optimal educational outcomes. This study investigates interactions between discrete coolant jets in a transverse flow, as seen in turbine blade cooling. Numerical solutions and specific turbulence modeling aim to replicate the scenario accurately. Comparing outcomes from two turbulence models reveals differences near the wall due to jet injection at a 45-degree angle with a sub-unity blowing rate. Researchers intend to identify these distinctions via data analysis and simulation review. Insights into coolant behavior and the importance of precise turbulence modeling are highlighted, benefiting turbine blade cooling system design and efficiency. Lessons for diverse engineering applications with transverse flows are emphasized, along-side the need to advance turbulence modeling for accurate simulations. INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study was to analyze discrepancies between self‐ and proxy‐rated health‐related quality of life (HRQoL), measured with the EuroQol 5 Dimension 5 Level survey (EQ‐5D‐5L), in people living with dementia (PlwD) and their caregivers on an individual response level. METHODS: EQ‐5D‐5L, sociodemographic and clinical data were obtained from baseline data of n = 174 dyads of a cluster‐randomized, controlled intervention trial. Self‐ and proxy‐rated EQ‐5D‐5L health profiles were evaluated in terms of response distribution and agreement (weighted Kappa), and discrepancies in individual dimension level were analyzed using the Paretian Classification of Health Change (PCHC) as well as the presence and degree of inconsistencies between ratings. RESULTS: PlwD had a mean age of 80.1, nearly the half were female and 82.3% were mildly to moderately cognitively impaired. PlwD reported a higher utility index than caregiver proxies (mean 0.75 vs. 0.68, 83% of PlwD > 0.5). According to the PCHC and inconsistency approach, 95% of PlwD rated their health differently compared to proxies; 66% with divergent responses in at least three EQ‐5D‐5L dimensions. Nine dyads (5%) showed identical ratings. Discrepancies of one higher or lower EQ‐5D‐5L response represented the most frequent discrepancy (35.4%). Caregivers were two times more likely to report "moderate problems," representing the middle of the 5‐point Likert scale. Usual activities had the lowest agreement between ratings (weighted kappa = 0.23). In PlwD reporting no or some problems in EQ‐5D‐5L‐dimensions, proxies were more likely to report more problems and vice versa, especially in the more observable dimension usual activities and less likely in the less observable domains pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression. DISCUSSION: The central tendency bias observed in proxy‐ratings could be associated with assessment uncertainties, resulting in an underestimation (overestimation) in PlwD reporting better (worse) health. This diverging trend extends the knowledge from previous studies and underlines the need for more methodological research in this area. Formerly incarcerated individuals face numerous hardships during reentry that may increase their risk for future reincarceration. Documenting the expectations and experiences individuals have for reentry may shed new light on the United States' high reincarceration rate and inform interventions. Using data from the Multi-site Family Study on Incarceration, Parenting, and Partnering (MFS-IP), this study describes incarcerated fathers' expectations for reentry and examines whether unmet expectations increase risk for short-term reincarceration. The analytic sample consisted of 346 Black and White fathers who provided data on expectations for support, financial stability, and family relationships during incarceration and their experiences in each domain after release. Descriptive analyses revealed variability in terms of whether fathers expect to have their needs met upon reentry and whether needs are actually met. Logistic regressions that were stratified by race and included controls for theoretically relevant variables suggested that expectations did not predict reincarceration. Moreover, among White fathers, unmet expectations were inversely associated with risk for short-term reincarceration. The aim of this study is to improve the accuracy of information recorded in the South Carolina traffic collision forms. To accomplish this, it examines 200 forms containing information about fatal crashes in work zones between 2014 and 2020 to determine how many discrepancies exist between the written narrative and other fields. In addition to obtaining these statistics, this study seeks to identify factors that influence discrepancies. To test the hypothesis that crash complexity and weather influence the investigating officer’s level of processing (a theory developed by Craik and Lockhart in 1972), and consequentially his/her ability to complete the traffic collision form accurately, a structural equation model (SEM) is developed. The SEM is used to explain the relationships between measured variables and latent variables and the relationships between latent variables (crash characteristics, weather conditions, and level of processing). SEM results show that increases in collision speed, number of units, number of events, and temperature resulted in an increase in the number of words and characters written in the narrative, whereas increases in precipitation and humidity resulted in a decrease in the number of words and characters written in the narrative. Notably, the number of discrepancies was not statistically significant, suggesting crash and weather-related factors do not affect an officer’s reporting accuracy. A multiple linear regression model is also developed to identify factors that influence a form field’s frequency of discrepancies. The form field’s level of difficulty and its number of inputs are found to be statistically significant.

While satellite time series are essential tools to derive phenometrics at unprecedented spatial and temporal scales, nonsystematic acquisition or medium spatial resolution of available missions is potentially problematic. At the same time, low-cost observation networks bridge the gap between satellite and in situ observations, which considerably increases ground-based data and associated possibilities. Here, we provide robust statistics about the reliability of satellite-derived phenometrics of urban trees across phenophases. Environmental and acquisition factors influencing the quality of phenometric estimates were analyzed. First, a multifacet regression-based analysis was conducted to measure discrepancies between PlanetScope (and Sentinel-2) and ground-based measurements across phenophases. Second, we performed hierarchical partitioning to tackle the effects of biological parameters (canopy closure and color leaf) for assessing phenometrics with satellite time series. Third, we ran Monte Carlo simulations to propagate errors according to viewing angles in PlanetScope acquisition. Our results show that: 1) PlanetScope provides consistent phenometric estimates for different tree layouts belonging to the same species (average $R^{2}$ = 0.50$\pm$0.18); performances are higher than those of Sentinel-2 but duration-based phenometrics estimates were poorly reconstructed with both satellite missions; 2) contributions of biological parameters in the vegetation signal above trees strongly vary between growth periods; while canopy closure drives the growing season signal (independent contribution $>$40%), color leaf plays a major role in the senescence season; and 3) variable viewing angles in PlanetScope acquisitions showed only significant effects on duration-based metrics estimates. Our research opens new perspectives for monitoring urban trees, which improves the measurement of ecosystem services for local inhabitants.

Background/Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the accuracy of overall and anterior Bolton's ratio measurements obtained with an intraoral scanner compared to standard caliper measurements on plaster models. Material and Methods: This study included 33 subjects (18 female and 15 male), aged 12 to 18 years. All subjects were taken impression for the purpose of making study plaster models. In addition, all subjects underwent intraoral scanning for the purpose of creating digital models. Tooth width was measured with a caliper on plaster models, while digital models were analyzed using Cerec Ortho SW 2.0.2 software. The overall and anterior Bolton ratios were derived using both methods. Statistical data processing was performed using an independent t-test. Abstract Introduction Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a chronic disease with treatment-free remission (TFR) increasingly regarded as a feasible goal of treatment. However, various factors may influence adherence to international guidelines for CML management. This study aimed to compare the reporting of care between patients with CML and their treating doctors. Methods Parallel patient and physician online surveys were conducted between September 22, 2021, and March 15, 2022, which focused on the perceptions of 1882 adult patients with CML and 305 physicians regarding tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment options, monitoring and toxicities, TFR, and challenges faced. Results Among the enrolled patients, 69.9% received first-line imatinib treatment, 18.6% received nilotinib, and 4.7% received dasatinib. Among the patients treated with imatinib, 36.7% switched to other TKIs due to imatinib resistance/intolerance (71.1%), exploration of more potent TKIs to achieve TFR (8.9%), and treating physicians’ recommendation (14.0%), with a median duration of initial treatment of 14 months [interquartile range (IQR) 6–36]. Most (91.8%) physicians agreed that the breakpoint cluster region–Abelson 1 (BCR::ABL1) transcript level should be assessed every 3 months, but only 42.7% of individuals committed to 3-monthly testing and only 17.8% strictly followed their treating physicians’ recommendation. Half of the patients aimed for TFR; however, just 45.2% of physicians considered TFR as one of the top three goals for their patients. The major concern in obtaining TFR was patients’ adherence. Fatigue was often distressing for patients with TKIs, while physicians were more concerned about platelet and neutrophil counts. A total of 12% and 20.8% of patients reported moderate/severe anxiety and depression, respectively, while only 53.7% of physicians had concerns about their patients’ mental health. During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, 69.2% of patients reported a reduction in their income. Among these patients, 61.8% maintained their current treatment, while 7.3% switched to cheaper alternatives or discontinued treatment, with over 80% of these patients belonging to the low-income group. Conclusions Overcoming challenges in patient–physician communication and treatment access is key to improving disease management and quality of life, especially for patients with low income. ObjectiveTo test the acculturation gap hypothesis by examining mother-youth value discrepancies (both acculturative and enculturative) and their association with mother-youth acculturative conflict and youth mental health outcomes.MethodParticipants were 273 Mexican descent college students attending a large, public, Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) in West Texas (72% women). The participants' ages ranged 18-25 years (M = 19.33 years; SD = 1.54 years).ResultsThree models assessed the relationship between mother-youth value discrepancies and mental health outcomes (suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, and depressive symptoms) as mediated by mother-youth acculturative conflict. Consistently, Mexican heritage cultural values were related to mental health outcomes while American cultural values were not.ConclusionsThe study found that increased mother-youth discrepancies on Mexican cultural values were associated with increased negative mental health outcomes. Our findings suggest that adopting or learning new mainstream American values does not substitute for the Mexican cultural values that protect against negative outcomes.

Background/Objectives: There seems to be a global reduction in the number of clinical post-mortems requested and performed worldwide, suggesting a decreasing need for post-mortem examinations. Despite advances in medical technology, autopsies remain a relevant tool to determine cause of death. Methods: A total of 276 post-mortem results were extracted from the NHLS lab track database, of which only 152 were included in this study. Discrepancies between ante and post-mortem diagnoses were evaluated using the Goldman classification. Data were analysed using STATA-18. Results: The sample consisted largely of females (n = 101, 66.45%) aged 30 and above (n = 58, 33.80%), with a mean age of 28.3. Of the 152 samples analysed, 60% (n = 92) of all postmortems showed a correlation between ante- and post-mortem diagnoses. However, 29.1% (n = 45) of cases showed major discrepancies which could have been prevented if correct diagnoses were made. Metabolic diseases were most frequently misdiagnosed (p = 0.020), with more cases of Class I discrepancies than Class V discrepancies (15.5% (n = 7) vs. 2.1% (n = 2), respectively. Additionally, infections (n = 59; 39%) were the most common cause of death. Conclusions: Even with marked improvements in diagnostic technology, a post-mortem examination is a necessary quality control tool that can be used to verify cause of death, and thus improve clinical practice.

The humanistic intellectual algorithmic nodes deployment on Artificial Intelligences (AIs) brought significances in undertaking socio-economics activities. Students in higher learning institutions utilized the AIs for education purposes leading to damages in the cognitive process. The phenomenography action research was purposively conducted to assess 113 higher learning institution students’ cognitive discrepancies due to AI utilization. The objectives undertaken were to: assess the attributes leading students’ differences in AI utilization and determine the students cognitive discrepancies in performance resulted by utilization of AI in the learning process. Data were collected through students’ test-re-tested class activity worksheets observations and semi-structured interview. The major findings showed that students were highly rated in utilization of AI to save time, had cognitively worries and less authentic assurance. Also, the findings on students cognitive discrepancies utilization was proved to be ascertained on indicators for cognitive processes, individual differences, feedback and interaction, motivation and engagement, creativity and imagination. The recommendation were made to students and instructors to appropriate utilize and blend AI utilization in teaching and learning process for cognitive wealth so as to overwhelm shortfalls resulted by over utilization of AIs.

Background: Toxicity or treatment failure related to drug-drug interactions (DDIs) are known to significantly affect morbidity and hospitalization rates. Despite the availability of numerous databases for DDIs identification and management, their information often differs. Oral anticoagulants are deemed at risk of DDIs and a leading cause of adverse drug events, most of which being preventable. Although many databases include DDIs involving anticoagulants, none are specialized in them.Aim and method: This study aims to compare the DDIs information content of four direct oral anticoagulants and two vitamin K antagonists in three major DDI databases used in Switzerland: Lexi-Interact, Pharmavista, and MediQ. It evaluates the consistency of DDIs information in terms of differences in severity rating systems, mechanism of interaction, extraction and documentation processes and transparency.Results: This study revealed 2’496 DDIs for the six anticoagulants, with discrepant risk classifications. Only 13.2% of DDIs were common to all three databases. Overall concordance in risk classification (high, moderate, and low risk) was slight (Fleiss’ kappa = 0.131), while high-risk DDIs demonstrated a fair agreement (Fleiss’ kappa = 0.398). The nature and the mechanism of the DDIs were more consistent across databases. Qualitative assessments highlighted differences in the documentation process and transparency, and similarities for availability of risk classification and references.Discussion: This study highlights the discrepancies between three commonly used DDI databases and the inconsistency in how terminology is standardised and incorporated when classifying these DDIs. It also highlights the need for the creation of specialised tools for anticoagulant-related interactions.

Abstract INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to analyze discrepancies between self‐ and proxy‐rated health‐related quality of life (HRQoL), measured with the EuroQol 5 Dimension 5 Level survey (EQ‐5D‐5L), in people living with dementia (PlwD) and their caregivers on an individual response level. METHODS EQ‐5D‐5L, sociodemographic and clinical data were obtained from baseline data of n = 174 dyads of a cluster‐randomized, controlled intervention trial. Self‐ and proxy‐rated EQ‐5D‐5L health profiles were evaluated in terms of response distribution and agreement (weighted Kappa), and discrepancies in individual dimension level were analyzed using the Paretian Classification of Health Change (PCHC) as well as the presence and degree of inconsistencies between ratings. RESULTS PlwD had a mean age of 80.1, nearly the half were female and 82.3% were mildly to moderately cognitively impaired. PlwD reported a higher utility index than caregiver proxies (mean 0.75 vs. 0.68, 83% of PlwD > 0.5). According to the PCHC and inconsistency approach, 95% of PlwD rated their health differently compared to proxies; 66% with divergent responses in at least three EQ‐5D‐5L dimensions. Nine dyads (5%) showed identical ratings. Discrepancies of one higher or lower EQ‐5D‐5L response represented the most frequent discrepancy (35.4%). Caregivers were two times more likely to report “moderate problems,” representing the middle of the 5‐point Likert scale. Usual activities had the lowest agreement between ratings (weighted kappa = 0.23). In PlwD reporting no or some problems in EQ‐5D‐5L‐dimensions, proxies were more likely to report more problems and vice versa, especially in the more observable dimension usual activities and less likely in the less observable domains pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression. DISCUSSION The central tendency bias observed in proxy‐ratings could be associated with assessment uncertainties, resulting in an underestimation (overestimation) in PlwD reporting better (worse) health. This diverging trend extends the knowledge from previous studies and underlines the need for more methodological research in this area. Highlights People living with dementia (PlwD) rate their health differently than proxies. Proxy‐ratings over‐ or underestimate PlwD health when self‐ratings are low or high. Proxies indicate a possible central tendency bias. Further research is needed to understand influencing factors.

This study aims to identify and measure the gap between learning planning and its implementation in the Islamic Education Study Program IAIN Palopo field. The study employs an evaluation approach with the discrepancy model. The study involved four stages of evaluation: design, installation, process, and product. The Isaac and Michael sampling method obtained data from 948 students and 51 Islamic Education Study Program lecturers. Evaluation instruments, namely documentation, questionnaires, and interviews, are validated by expert evaluation validators. The evaluation revealed significant gaps in the availability of learning tools, human resources, facilities, infrastructure, and learning media. As per the discrepancy criterion, gap categories range from very small to large. These findings provide deep insight into the effectiveness of learning in the Islamic Education Study Program (IAIN Palopo). As a recommendation, the study suggests concrete solutions such as regular training for lecturers, the use of technology in learning, and the improvement of physical facilities to improve the quality of the learning process. The evaluation of the learning process also highlights the need to expand training and lecturer support for integrating technology into learning.

This study investigates the prevalence of evictions in South Africa and examines potential disparities between traditional media reporting and social media discourse. Employing a sentiment analysis framework, we extend its application to compare the reporting of evictions in newspaper articles (i.e. conventional media) and Twitter data (i.e. social media). Statistical machine-learning methods are utilized to predict sentiment scores for both types of content, and a chi-square test is employed to evaluate bias between news articles and tweets. The test results reveal a significant bias in the sentiment distribution, suggesting that the dissimilarities observed between articles and tweets are not merely coincidental. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Study region: The research was carried out in 38 rivers in the Oder and Vistula basins. They are located in various parts of Poland, which are geologically, geomorphologically and anthropogenically diversified. Study focus: The paper deals with the inconsistency and incorrectness of applied spatial data in water management. This is caused due to the lack of a unified method of creation and different data sources. The analysis covered three databases used in Polish water management: the digital Map of the Polish Hydrographic Division (MPHP), the Database of Topographic Objects (BDOT) and the Drainage System Database (EM). The Geographic Information Systems and statistical methods (Pearson’s, Kendall’s and Spearman’s coefficients) were used to study the occurrence and size of discrepancies in Polish databases of surface waters. New hydrological insights for the region: The study showed that in the analysed databases there are discrepancies in the nomenclature (47% cases) and watercourse lengths (geometric and attribute – 97% cases). The examined databases differ in the course and mileage of the same watercourse. The research results showed high consistency of BDOT and MPHP and the highest values of discrepancies when compared with EM. A significant statistical dependence of these discrepancies on land cover with dense vegetation was also found. The research proves that it is important to be careful about the certainty of using these data and shows how this can negatively influence water management system effectiveness.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is commonly assessed with self-rated or clinician-rated measures. Although scores from these assessment modalities are strongly associated, they are often discrepant for individual symptoms, total symptom severity, and diagnostic status. To date, no known studies have empirically identified the sources of these discrepancies. In the present study, we had three aims: (a) replicate previously identified discrepancies; (b) examine contribution of possible objective predictors of discrepancies, including negative response bias, random responding, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and verbal IQ; and (c) identify subjective sources of discrepancies through analysis of participant feedback. Trauma-exposed undergraduates (N = 60) were administered the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), the Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale for DSM-5 (CAPS-5), and other questionnaires. Interviewers identified discrepancies between corresponding PCL-5/CAPS-5 scores and asked participants to describe their attributions for discrepancies. Discrepancies, both dimensional and dichotomous, occurred at the item, cluster, and total score level. Objective predictors were weakly associated with discrepancies. The most commonly reported reasons for discrepancies were time-frame reminders, comprehension of symptoms, trauma-related attribution errors, increased awareness, and general errors. These findings help explain discordance between the PCL-5 and CAPS-5, and inform use and interpretation of these two widely used PTSD measures in clinical and research applications. This study proposes as a key cause of the high failure rates in the implementation of analytical projects for marketing decisions, the discrepancy in the information quality (DIQ) perceived between producers (information technology [IT]) and users (marketing) of knowledge. Given that the DIQ between agents is a determining factor in the success of the ability to data analytics, this study focuses on examining this concept and its causes, specifically the resources related to data analytics that influence DIQ. The results of the surveys carried out with the IT and marketing managers of 95 companies in Spain, analyzed with a comparative methodological approach (dyadic), reveal the sources of the discrepancy, namely, the quality of the data, the technological capabilities, the talent, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) support, and alignment of the data plan with the marketing plan. Objectives: Primary tumor tissue is often analyzed to search for predictive biomarkers and DNA-guided personalized therapies, but there is an incomplete understanding of the discrepancies in the genomic profiles between primary tumors and metastases, such as liver and lung metastases. Methods: We performed in-depth targeted next-generation sequencing of 520 key cancer-associated genes for 47 matched primary and metastatic tumor samples which were retrospectively collected. Results: A total of 699 mutations were detected in the 47 samples. The coincidence rate of primary tumors and metastases was 51.8% (n = 362), and compared to patients with liver metastases, patients with lung metastases had a significantly greater coincidence rate (P =.021). The number of specific mutations for the primary tumors and liver and lung metastases was 186 (26.6%), 122 (17.5%), and 29 (4.1%), respectively. Analysis of a patient with all three occurrences, including a primary tumor, liver metastasis, and lung metastasis, indicated a possible polyclonal seeding mechanism for liver metastases. Remarkably, multiple samples from patients with primary and metastatic tumors supported a mechanism of synchronous parallel dissemination from primary tumors to metastatic tumors that were not mediated through pre-metastatic tumors. We also found that the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway significantly altered lung metastases compared to matched primary tumors (P =.001). In addition, patients with mutations in CTCF, PIK3CA, or TP53 and LRP1B, AURKA, FGFR1, ATRX, DNMT3B, or GNAS had larger primary tumor sizes and metastases, especially patients with both LRP1B and AURKA mutations. Interestingly, CRC patients with TP53 -disruptive mutations were more likely to have liver metastases (P =.016). Conclusion: In this study, we demonstrate significant differences in the genomic landscapes of colorectal cancer patients based on the site of metastasis. Notably, we observe a larger genomic variation between primary tumors and liver metastasis compared to primary tumors and lung metastasis. Using a recently re-discovered text by Alexander Chayanov, this article argues that while demographic differentiation may lead to stratification, this is, for a variety of reasons, mostly temporary and does not generally result in the formation of antagonistic rural classes. At the same time there is also the far more deep-rooted phenomenon of market-induced differentiation. Abstract Oxygen electrocatalysis is crucial for renewable energy conversion and storage technologies. Specifically for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is the primary reaction that determines performance and costs. The ORR activity and durability are commonly assessed using a rotating disk electrode (RDE). However, there are numerous inconsistencies in the RDE measurements among researchers when comparing newly developed ORR catalysts to state‐of‐the‐art ones. These inconsistencies in activity and durability evaluation and deviations from standard protocols result in irreproducible screening and benchmarking of electrocatalysts. Despite the fact that the US Department of Energy has established and regularly revises the standard protocols, many reported studies do not adhere to these guidelines. This perspective aims to draw attention to the discrepancies in ORR activity and stability measurements at RDE as primary screening and emphasizes implementing the mandatory standard for a meaningful comparison of ORR activity and durability. We intend to emphasize the use of available ORR test standards ubiquitously for more accurate comparisons and accelerate the development of fuel cell catalysts.

Introduction: In many hospitals, off-hours emergency department (ED) radiographs are not read by a radiologist until the following morning and are instead interpreted by the emergency physician (EP) at the time of service. Studies have found conflicting results regarding the radiographic interpretation discrepancies between EPs and trained radiologists. The aim of this study was to identify the number of radiologic interpretation discrepancies between EPs and radiologists in a community ED setting.Methods: Using a pre-existing logbook of radiologic discrepancies as well as our institution’s picture archiving and communication system, all off-hours interpretation discrepancies between January 2012 and January 2015 were reviewed and recorded in a de-identified fashion. We recorded the type of radiograph obtained for each patient. Discrepancy grades were recorded based on a pre-existing 1-4 scale defined in the institution’s protocol logbook as Grade 1 (no further action needed); Grade 2 (call to the patient or pharmacy); Grade 3 (return to ED for further treatment, e.g., fracture not splinted); Grade 4 (return to ED for serious risk, e.g., pneumothorax, bowel obstruction). We also recorded the total number of radiographs formally interpreted by EPs during the prescribed time-frame to determine overall agreement between EPs and radiologists.Results: There were 1044 discrepancies out of 16,111 EP reads, indicating 93.5% agreement.  Patients averaged 48.4 ± 25.0 years of age and 53.3% were female; 25.1% were over-calls by EPs. The majority of discrepancies were minor with 75.8% Grade 1 and 22.3% Grade 2. Only 1.7% were Grade 3, which required return to the ED for further treatment. A small number of discrepancies, 0.2%, were Grade 4. Grade 4 discrepancies accounted for two of the 16,111 total reads, equivalent to 0.01%. A slight disagreement in finding between EP and radiologist accounted for 8.3% of discrepancies.Conclusion:Results suggest that plain radiographic studies can be interpreted by EPs with a very low incidence of clinically significant discrepancies when compared to the radiologist interpretation. Due to rare though significant discrepancies, radiologist interpretation should be performed when available. Further studies are needed to determine the generalizability of this study to EDs with differing volume, patient population, acuity, and physician training.

Emotional and behavioral problems (EBPs) frequently occur in young autistic children. Discrepancies between parents and other informants are common but can lead to uncertainty in formulation, diagnosis and care planning. This study aimed to explore child and informant characteristics are associated with reported child EBPs across settings. Participants were 83 4–8-year-old autistic children and their parents and teachers in the Autism Spectrum Treatment and Resilience (ASTAR) study. Questionnaires of child EBPs were completed by parents and teachers, and self-reported parenting stress and wellbeing measures were obtained. An observation of parent–child/researcher-child interaction was also completed. Parents reported more EBPs than teachers and parent-teacher agreement was low, particularly for emotional problems. Greater parenting stress and being verbal was associated with more parent- but not teacher-reported EBPs. More observed behaviors that challenge were displayed by minimally verbal children. More parenting stress could be associated with the presence of more EBPs in the home; alternatively, parenting stress may confound reports. It is essential for assessments of EBPs in autistic children to take a multi-informant approach. Better understanding of the associations between informant characteristics and informant discrepancies of EBPs is needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Academic writing in courses taught in English is one of the areas which pose challenges for university students. Due to a lack of consistent practices in teaching writing in secondary education, school graduates encounter serious difficulties in their transition to academic discourse and writing in English required for some disciplines. The article discusses students’ attitudes and perceived challenges in writing, and reveals discrepancies between students and instructors’ perspectives. The discussion is mapped against the widely researched area of challenges in academic writing, and is based on analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, obtained from a small-scale survey with BA and MA students of English studies in a Bulgarian university, and focus-group interviews with their instructors. The findings of this interdisciplinary study provide insights into students’ challenges in academic writing. The disinterested and skeptics of the Sunnah of the Prophet and the enemies of the religion of the Nile and the deceitful for the hadith and challenge it, claiming the difference and contradiction between the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the narratives contained about the imams of the people of the house(RA). Because of the importance of this science and to respond to the skeptics and appellants of the Sunnah, this study came to identify the approach of the two honorable sheikhs Ibn Qutaybah and al-Tusi in how to reconcile the difference and contradictions between the hadiths divided into a preamble and three demands. One of the most prominent findings of the study is that they agree and differ in some issues, and among the participants between them is their classification of two books in the Discrepancies of hadith, which are my book (the interpretation of the different hadith for Ibn Qutaybah) and the insight into what differed from the news for Tusi. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine whether patients with class 2 skeletal malocclusion in a private dental hospital had skeletal discrepancies. Materials and methods: This was a descriptive, retrospective study, and the dental information archiving software was used to collect all the data from the patients who attended the dental clinics at Saveetha Dental College, SIMATS, Chennai, India (DIAS). March 2020 through March 2021 saw the collection of patient records. We gathered and tabulated the data. The gathered data underwent additional processing, was entered into Microsoft Excel, and then went through statistical analysis using IBM SPSS statistics analyzer v.23.0. Results: The current study used a total sample size of 88950 patients. Skeletal class 2 malocclusion was seen in 0.01 percent of cases overall. The data in this study was examined for the occurrence of different skeletal inconsistencies. Results were satisfactory and showed that there were skeletal differences. A gender bias was evident, with 50.4 percent of the sample population being female. Mandibular deficit was the most frequent skeletal discrepancy, and class 2 div 1 dental malocclusion was most frequently detected. Conclusion: Mandibular deficit was shown to be the most common skeletal discrepancy within the constraints of the current investigation, and a substantial correlation between the skeletal discrepancies and the gender of the study group was found. Purpose: Recent Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education policy changes no longer limit the number of consecutive night shifts allowed for trainees. Few studies have examined radiology resident overnight performance over time. This study aimed to compare significant resident-attending discrepancy rates for residents working 2 nonconsecutive versus consecutive weeks of overnight shifts. The authors hypothesized significantly increased week-two discrepancies in the consecutive group.Methods: For 2020, a retrospective analysis of significant overnight resident-attending discrepancy rates over a 24-week period using database searches was performed for residents self-selecting 2 nonconsecutive versus consecutive weeks. The nonconsecutive group typically had a 7-day mix of days off and day shifts between their night shift weeks. Paired and unpaired t tests were performed with p < 0.05 considered significant.Results: For the 24 sets of 2 weeks covered by two residents at a time, eight were nonconsecutive and 16 were consecutive. The nonconsecutive group had 75.0% R4 coverage compared to 37.5% for the consecutive group. There were no significant study volume differences between the groups. A total of 27,906 studies (35.3% cross-sectional [CT and MR], 54.9% radiograph plus fluoroscopy, 9.8% US) were performed with 223 discrepancies (0.80%). Overall discrepancies for the nonconsecutive versus consecutive groups were 39/4505 (0.87%) versus 59/9462 (0.62%; p = 0.32) for week one and 46/4732 (1.0%) versus 79/9207 (0.86%; p = 0.60) for week two with no significant differences between the groups by modality.Conclusion: Residents self-selecting 2 consecutive weeks of overnight shifts do not have increased resident-attending discrepancy rates compared to 2 nonconsecutive weeks. Abstract Medication reconciliation is a strategy to minimize medication errors at the transition points of care. This study aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of medication reconciliation in identifying and resolving drug discrepancies in the admission of adult patients to a university hospital. The study was carried out in a 300-bed large general public hospital, in which a reconciled list was created between drugs prescribed at admission and those used at pre-admission, adapting prescriptions from the pharmacotherapeutic guidelines of the hospital studied and the patients’ clinical conditions. One hundred seven patients were included, of which 67,3% were women, with a mean age of 56 years. Two hundred twenty-nine discrepancies were found in 92 patients; of these, 21.4% were unintentional in 31.8% of patients. The pharmacist performed 49 interventions, and 47 were accepted. Medication omission was the highest occurrence (63.2%), followed by a different dose (24.5%). Thirteen (26.5%) of the 49 unintentional discrepancies included high-alert medications according to ISMP Brazil classification. Medication reconciliation emerges as an important opportunity for the review of pharmacotherapy at transition points of care, based on the high number of unintentional discrepancies identified and resolved. During the drug reconciliation process, the interventions prevented the drugs from being misused or omitted during the patient’s hospitalization and possibly after discharge.

Parental knowledge of adolescents' whereabouts is central for healthy adolescent development. However, parents and their adolescent children often perceive parenting practices differently. Using data from matching parent and adolescent dyads (n = 477) from the longitudinal research program LoRDIA, we investigated in what way disagreement between parents' and adolescents' reports on parental knowledge, solicitation and behavioral control and adolescent disclosure, is longitudinally related to girls' and boys' psychological problems (internalizing and externalizing) and well-being. The adolescents' mean age was 13.0 years (SD =.56) at T1 and 14.30 years (SD =.61) at T2, evenly distributed between boys (52.6%) and (47.4%) girls at baseline. The discrepancy scores were calculated by subtracting the adolescent's scores from the parent's scores. Parent-adolescent discrepancies had somewhat different patterns of associations with boys' and girls' psychological problems and well-being. Parental knowledge discrepancy was related to higher levels of girls' externalizing problems while parental solicitation discrepancy was related to higher levels of boys' externalizing problems and lower levels of girls' wellbeing. Adolescent disclosure discrepancy was related to higher levels of girls' internalizing problems and lower levels of well-being. Negative concurrent associations were shown between parental control discrepancy and adolescents' internalizing problems. Parents' overestimating the level of parent-adolescent communication, including adolescent disclosure, and parental solicitation in particular, is disadvantageous for adolescent psychological health.
