The thesis deals with the assistance to victims of crime and aims to provide a comprehensive view of the issue. The purpose of this thesis is to assess the level of assistance provided in relation to its legal anchoring and subsequent application practice. The content of the thesis consists of an introduction, six chapters and a conclusion. In the first chapter the thesis is devoted to the interpretation of basic concepts related to the issue of victims of crime. It defines the victim and describes its various categorisations, including the definition of a particularly vulnerable victim. The distinction between victim and an injured party is also clarified for better orientation in the following text. The second chapter then briefly describes the development of the victim's position and role in criminal proceedings from a historical perspective, and briefly describes the basic international regulation of victims' rights with a focus on European legislation in this area. The issue of the crime victim in criminology Abstract This thesis deals with the issue of the crime victim in criminology. It aims to introduce the reader to this issue not only through describing the development of the view of the victim throughout history, but also by taking the reader through the process of victimization and introducing them to, among other things, the role that the victim's behaviour or the relationship between victim and offender may play in this process. I also outline what factors can influence anyone to become a victim and the impact a crime can have on a victim. Finally, I describe the current state of victim protection in selected legislation and the types of assistance provided to victims. I also pay attention to victimological prevention, its types and forms. In the text of the thesis, I also mention several de lege ferenda proposals. The method I have used in my thesis is mainly descriptive and analytical. Protection of a victim of a criminal offence Abstract This thesis adresses the protection of victims of crime, a serious and currently very topical issue. The initial part of the thesis is devoted to victimology as a scientific field, the subject of which is mainly the victim of crime. This chapter introduces basic victimological concepts that are important for a comprehensive understanding of the issue under study. The next chapter provides a brief overview and comparison of the definition of a victim across basic international documents, EU legislation, and the legal order of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, this section proceeds to analyse and evaluate the currently valid definitions of victim and particularly vulnerable victim as defined in the Victims Act, and offers a brief introduction of the Act. Subsequently, the third chapter describes and analyses the individual rights that victims are entitled to exclusively under the above-mentioned law, and, in the light of the findings from practice, presents a proposals for their improvement. This diploma thesis is focused on the genesis of social support in the context of victims of crimes and it aims to comprehensively describe this development in the Czech Republic. It is a theoretical thesis and in the process methods of content analysis, synthesis and comparison of secondary data were used. Individual chapters describe topics connected to social support for victims of crime. The initial chapter contains explanations of the basic terms which are connected to victimology. There is a definition of a criminal act, a victim of crime and the process of victimization is also explained in this chapter. The following chapter focuses on the historical context based on which Act no. 45/ 2013 Sb. was sanctioned and which is considered a milestone in the support to victims of crime. The ongoing text is dedicated to specific types of support in the Czech Republic and also abroad, including the historical development of law up to present-day law. Support to the victims of crime is provided by subjects mentioned in one of the chapters. They are state or non-state subjects which are authorized to provide this kind of service. The discussion contains acquired knowledge and notes which were discovered during the drawing up of this thesis and which could be a subject matter for specialists in other discussions to increase the efficiency of provided services and to strengthen the character of low-threshold social support. The diploma thesis deals with the topic of helping victims of crime with an emphasis on the psychological side and the goal is to analyse the options of that help. The first chapter deals with victimology and victimization, basic concepts that are important for understanding the issue. The next chapter emphasizes the concept of victim. It explains the typology of victims and also discusses victims' rights. The fourth chapter focuses on the issue of particularly vulnerable victims. What is also important is the section on entities that provide help to victims of crimes. I focus in more detail on the two most important entities, which are the Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic and the non-profit organization White Circle of Safety which represents the non-state sector. The most important part of the thesis comes in the last but one chapter, and it focuses on specific assistance for victims of crimes. The chapter deals with the principles of laic, especially psychological and social assistance. Finally, I focus on crime prevention. The whole issue is complemented by interviews with experts who provide help to victims. The acquired knowledge shows how important the work of providers of care for crime victims is, and indicates how significant benefit it has for the users.

The aim of this thesis is to provide an information about victimology, especially in terms of a science regarding the victims of crime and means to help them, as well as to show how the knowledge provided by this science can be practically used to prevent crime. The thesis consists of introduction, conclusion and 6 chapters. The first chapter briefly introduces the concept of criminality, as well as the basic characteristics of the extent, structure, intensity and dynamics of criminality. It also deals with the role of criminology in relation to the research of crime and it mentions the differences between real and latent crime. First, it is anchored in the system of crime control, and then the concepts of object and subject of crime prevention are introduced. An injured party in criminal proceedings and his/her protection The diploma thesis deals with the position of the injured party and his protection during the entire criminal proceedings and a description of the rights at his disposal in its individual phases. It draws information from legislation, literature, case law and electronic resources. The diploma thesis is divided into five chapters. The first includes the definition of the term injured party, both its positive and negative definitions. It also describes the differences between the terms 'injured party' and 'victim of a crime'. The second chapter focuses on the description of the rights that belong to all injured, as well as those that belong only to the injured, who have the status of a subject in adhesion proceedings under § 43, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The most important of these rights are characterized in more detail. The thesis focuses on the assistance to crime victims, mostly in terms of Czech legislation, its compliance with the European legislation and its application in real life, it does, however, provide historical and theoretical explanation about crime victims. The thesis reflects the legislation, that is in effect at the time. The main aim of the thesis is to offer a comprehensive view on the issue of assistance to victims, to analyse and evaluate the legislation of victims' rights, especially under the Victims of Crime Act, and to assess the benefits of its first major amendment. The last goal of the thesis is to evaluate the current quality of assistance provided to crime victims. The thesis consists of five parts, in addition it also contains an introduction and a conclusion. The first part offers historical and international insight into the assistance of crime victims and details how this field has evolved over the last hundred years. Protection of Victims of Crime Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the issue of protection of victims of crime. The first chapter is focused on victimology - a branch of criminology that scientifically studies the relationship between a victim and an offender. This chapter also deals with various historical and current approaches in victimology. The partial goal of this chapter is to provide an overview of the theoretical background, which should provide the reader with a basis for understanding the position of victims, protection of victims and their role in criminal proceedings, which are discussed in the following chapters. The second chapter deals with the phenomenon of the victim of crime. This chapter analyzes the concept of the victim of crime, compares the definition of the victim in the law of the Czech Republic and in the law of the European Union. It also deals with society's response to crime, the relationship between society and the victim, and some misconceptions about the so-called ideal victim. Assistance to victims of crime Abstract This master's thesis deals with the assistance to crime victims and it is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the theory of victims and defines its basic terms such as primary and secondary victimization. It also describes the history of the victim and points out the most common stereotypes in the area of attitude to victims. The main part of the thesis describes the legislation. It deals particularly with the Victims of Crime Act which strengthened the victim's position in criminal proceedings and extended their rights. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the definitions of the victim and the vulnerable victim that are contained in the act. Consequently, the purpose is to compare the terms of the victim as a subject of a special care and the injured party as a subject to criminal proceedings. The victims of this lawless behaviour are not only citizens of the Czech republic but recently there are also victim citizens from other countries who are currently present in the Czech Republic when the deliberate crime happens. This thesis deals with the reporting of criminal offenses both in terms of individual and procedural criminal law, and from the point of view of the importance of this issue in criminology. The thesis is divided into ten chapters. The first chapter describes the role of reporting criminal offenses in criminal proceedings. In particular, it deals with the status of the procedure for initiating criminal prosecution in criminal proceedings. It then deals with the very aspects of the procedure for filing a crime report, in particular with crime reporting, its formalities, options in filing a criminal complaint, and procedures following the filing of a criminal complaint, while it points out the issue of imposing the act of closed file. Chapter two highlights the rights of the complainant, the injured and the victim in connection with the reported crime. Důraz přitom kladou především na problematiku postavení zvlášť zranitelné oběti a ochrany jejích procesních práv, kteréžto mají mnohdy zásadní dopad na průběh a samotný výsledek dokazování [např. (ne)možnost opakování rekognice u takových obětí]. V návaznosti na to se autoři zamýšlejí i nad postavením obviněného v obdobných případech a hledají určité ekvilibrium zajišťující proporcionální a dostatečnou ochranu práv obviněného a oběti trestného činu. This thesis is dealing with the criminal interrogation of injured person from criminal, criminalistic and criminological aspect and emphasizes the issue of secondary victimization. It contains an examination of the terms injured person, victim of crime and criminal interrogation, then is dealing with methods and tactics of questioning with specific issues involved in injured person's matter. The thesis describes changes in Czech system of law caused by the Statute of victims of crime. On particular cases based on author's research the thesis shows how can wrongly managed questiong leads to secondary victimization of victim, and offers solutions of particular problems involved in criminal interrogation of injured person.

The subject of this dissertation is the analysis of the position of an injured party and a victim in the Czech criminal legal environment. The aim of this thesis is also identification and practical analysis of particular procedural rights of injured parties and victims guaranteed to them by the Czech legislation. The dissertation has four main chapters. The first chapter is describing not only the general concept of an injured party but also particular claims that injured parties may exercises in the criminal proceedings. The second chapter contains not only description and analysis of adhesion proceedings, but also conditions under which claims of injured parties may be considered and decided by the Czech courts. Guardianship maltreatment is one of the most harmful crimes to a society, but the literature is somewhat neglected about it, for example, in comparison with the offense of battering a person living in common dwelling, namely domestic violence. Even so, it devotes some attention, at least that part of the issue related to the particular child victims of this crime. Crimes against persons who are unable to care for themselves on their own and are dependent on the care of another person who subsequently hurting is the socially very harmful or even liquidation. This offense is special both in terms of characteristics of the offender, and in terms of its subject, which is a victim of this crime. The most important peculiarity is that the object of attack is a person who is in the care of another. That person is helpless, unable to care for themselves properly. This is followed by another peculiarity of this crime, which is the relationship of the perpetrator to the victim. This has to be helping the victim in dealing with matters of everyday life and be so supportive to him. Instead, he uses this dependence, helplessness and utter reliance of the victim's person and tortures him. The aim of this dissertation was to provide the complex information about legal and kriminology aspects of the criminal offence "murder". The dissertation is divided into nine chapters, which are systematically divided into subchapters. The first part of this dissertation deals with legally criminal aspects of the murder. The introductory chapter deals with historical development of the murder from Medieval to 20th century. This part is particularly based on the of murder and moreover, it is based on the murder after consideartion and the murder in affect. The thesis examines the status of the injured person in criminal proceedings and his most important rights. The thesis analyzes in detail the injured person's approval for prosecution and obstacles which restrain the execution of the injured person's rights. The goal of the thesis is a review of the most important amendments of the Criminal Procedure Code (e.g. Act no. 181/2011 Coll. extending the definition of an injured person and the scope of adhesive procedure). A special chapter of the thesis focuses on crime victims regulated in Act no. 45/2013 Coll. which significantly strengthened the injured person's privileges in the criminal proceedings. The chosen topic for this MastersThesis is "Assistance to Victims of Crime" - primarily due to its growing social significance. Society as a whole should not turn a blind eye to the serious impact of crime, focusing only on the punishment of convicted criminals; it should also focus on assistance to those harmed and affected by crime. Criminals usually commit crimes with a strong conscious awareness of their misbehaviour, while victims have no similar expectation; for them, a criminal event is like something "out of the blue". The shocking and traumatic impact following the crime, is something unbelievable for one who never had such an experience; hence, the return back to normal life is often very difficult for victims of crime. A society which aspires to be modern and developed should make this return as easy as possible, implementing a series of measures in the field of assistance. The aim of the theses is to elaborate on the problematics of theoretical aspects of victims of criminal acts. The work's main concern is the area of problematics of workplace victimization. This topic shall therefore be investigated deeply in the theoretical part of the theses as well. The practical part of the work will depict and process the specific characteristics of the mentioned problematics and in relation to it workplace victimization of employees of Czech Republic's Employment Bureau will be further looked on. In the theses we mention and define the basic terms connected to the chosen problematics. Rights of the victims of crimes and options of their employment during the criminal proceedings Abstract This master's thesis inquires into crime victims' rights, their status in the criminal proceedings and actual employability of their guaranteed rights. It contains a brief history of development of the legislative concerning the topic. My thesis comes to a conclusion that especially in the last fifty years, the status and range of crime victims' rights has been constantly improving. Crime victim is becoming less and less just a bearer of evidence of the crime and is more and more becoming an active subject of the criminal proceedings, on which they also have their interest. With the passing of the new Crime Victims' Rights Act, the Czech legal system was enriched by a wide array of victims' rights that provides special care and approach from the state and its authorities. The diploma thesis deals with families who face sudden separation of a loved one due to imprisonment. From previous experience the work differs in focusing primarily focused on the family, not prisoners. Theoretical part is devoted to conceptual and legislative definition, the negative effects of imprisonment and the specific needs of the prisoners families as an object of help. Thesis marginally touches on recidivism in the chapter about the family as an entity assist in the reintegration of prisoners and also highlights the potential risks that may family for imprisoned in the process mean. It results from foreign experience, which is traditionally ahead. The empirical part of the qualitative research carried out within of self-help groups of prisoners families provides insight into the specific experiences of families. The thesis concentrates on the position of aggrieved parties and crime victims. In relation to Act 45/2013 Coll., effective from 1 August 2013, On Victims of Crimes, their position has been regulated in a single comprehensive document. The Act substantially amended the Code of Criminal Procedure, modified the previous rights of the aggrieved parties and introduced into the Code a new institute of interlocutory injunctions. The paper analyzes the rights of the victims and aggrieved parties. Additionally, it endeavors to pinpoint the deficiencies in the current legislation. The first section analyzes the aggrieved parties as participants in criminal proceedings and their rights in different stages of the proceedings. This section then tries to map the options that the aggrieved parties have in choosing their attorneys, or a joint attorney, and when they can claim legal assistance free of charge or at a reduced cost. The section is focused on the process of court's decision making in the trial; on the aggrieved party's options of seeking relief through remedies; and on the special position of aggrieved parties as regards the diversion of criminal proceedings. First of all, this diploma thesis called Pastoral Care about Victims of Criminal Offence briefly purveys basics of criminal law. These handle the topic of victims of criminal offence. Secondly, this work deals with victims themselves. There are also explained chosen terms from this field particularly victimisation and post-traumatic stress disorder Thirdly, there are not only described psychological impacts of crime onto victims, but also system of psychological, social and juridical help for these victims. Moreover, after outlining possibilities of pastoral work in current society, there is given a description of integration of pastoral care about victims of crimes into pastoral field. Particularly, this pastoral work helps victims with their difficulties and suffering. By using appropriate pastoral means, pastoral work is aimed at overcoming difficult life situations with dignity. Very important is co- operation with state and non-profit organisations, which also offer help to victims of crimes Last but not least, in this thesis are described possibilities of pastoral care for victims of chosen crimes and for more vulnerable victims as children, elderly people and relatives of crime victims.

Rigorous work deals with the current topic of domestic violence. Specifically, it deals with victims of domestic violence and protection capabilities, it offers the criminal law. The paper summarizes the most important concepts. It also discusses the particular criminal matters, where it focuses mainly on the catalog of offenses which may be committed in this context. In the section on criminal procedural law is analyzed status as victims of domestic violence victim in criminal proceedings. The thesis also deals with the issue of sanctions in relation to domestic violence, and last but not least is omitted or to the domestic violence in relation to children. Also shown is the phenomenon of stalking, which is in close relation to domestic violence. All these areas I have tried to critically evaluate in terms of whether their treatment is to protect victims of domestic violence are sufficient or whether it warrants a change.

The aim of my dissertation is to describe in detail the issue of victim of crime. The thesis is composed of seven chapters which include three main topics. The first three chapters create general introduction to the subject, its matter of interest, present historical overview, explain the general terms of the topic, such as victimology, damage, victimity etc., define the subject of victimology and describe the possible factors of the relation between victim and trespasser, their mutual interaction during and after the criminal act. This chapter is divided into four subsections (primary victimization, secondary victimization, tertiary victimization and revictimization). The fifth chapter focuses on assistance to the victim and ways of obtainable compensation. The chapter mainly deals with family assistance, psychological assistance and social assistance.
