Abstract

The current study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of electronic instructional packages for teaching geographic according to the directions of education integration approach of science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) based on project on acquiring problem solving skills and critical thinking for first year preparatory pupils. The researcher prepared electronic instructional package which included: student book " instructions how to apply the package", electronic student book which concluded reforming the selected unit "natural dangers" according to STEAM based on project, pupils paper sheets, a teacher guide for Geographic teacher to teach the unit by using electronic instructional package and a test for problem solving skills and critical thinking. The study was applied in "Fatma El- Zahraa preparatory school for girls" 2018/ 2019. The researcher used quasi- experimental design with only one group "pre- posttest". Results have shown that using electronic instructional package according to STEAM based on project in teaching Geographic was effective in developing problem solving skills and critical thinking for first year preparatory school pupils. The researcher presented some recommendations for those who are responsible for Social Studies curricula planning in general and Geographic in particular.
