Abstract

The article comments on the papers "A Novel Semi-Empirical Tyre Model For Combined Slips," and "A Semi-Empirical Dynamic Tire Model For Combined-Slip Forces," by M. Gäfvert and J. Svendenius. The author reveals that the focus of the works is the determination of tire shear forces under combined longitudinal and lateral slips using pure slip testing. The author points out that the researchers have not seen the connection of their extensive work and the previous papers.
