Abstract

A recent study conducted by the University of Cagliari in Italy explored the impact of MDQ positivity on the quality of life impairment. The study aimed to determine if the impairment was due to other concomitant disorders unrelated to mood disorders and if MDQ positivity itself had clinical significance. The study found that MDQ positivity was strongly related to sleep disturbances and that the quality of life was significantly worse in individuals with MDQ positivity compared to controls. The researchers hypothesized that MDQ positivity may be related to a "Dysregulation of Mood, Energy, and Social Rhythms Syndrome" (DYMERS). Further research is needed to verify this hypothesis.
