Abstract
- The article explores the challenges raised through teaching the course "Jewish Women in Contemporary America," and links these challenges to the pedagogy of race, class and gender more broadly. In Spring 2001, the author developed and taught a new seminar for upper-level graduate and undergraduate students, "Jewish Women in Contemporary America." The main focus of the course were to bring the insights of the sociology of ethnicity/race, gender and class to bear on Jewish Women's Studies, and to explore the contributions of Jewish Studies to this topic.
