Linguistic Landscape im Unterricht. Das didaktische Potenzial eines soziolinguistischen Forschungsfelds

Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über die Entwicklung des soziolinguistischen Forschungsfelds „Linguistic Landscape“ (LL), auch als "sprachliche Landschaft" bezeichnet, und konzentriert sich dabei auf das didaktische Potenzial dieses Forschungsfelds. Neben Erläuterungen zur Theorie und zu den Methoden wird diskutiert, inwiefern LL didaktisches Potenzial besitzt und auf welche Weise das Konzept als didaktisches Tool in der Lehrerinnen und Lehrerausbildung sowie im Unterricht eingesetzt werden kann. Durch den Fokus auf das sprachlich-kontextuelle Wissen hinter dem einzelnen Zeichen und auf die Interaktion zwischen den Rezipierenden und dem Zeichen wird in den Beispielen die Umsetzung von LL im Unterricht aufgezeigt. The article provides an overview of the development of the sociolinguistic research field linguistic landscape (LL) (“sprachliche Landschaft” in German) and focuses on its potential for teaching and learning. In addition to the theoretical and methodological considerations, the paper discusses the extent to which LL yields pedagogical value and addresses the question as to how it can be used as a pedagogical instrument in teacher education and classroom teaching. Examples illustrate the implementation of LL in the classroom through focusing on linguistic context knowledge behind the specific sign and the interaction between the recipients and the sign.
