Gender and persistence in negotiation: a dyadic perspective

A study on the interactive effects of gender in paired negotiation is presented. The findings dispute sex-stereotypic perspectives by showing that women persist more with cynical male than with cynical female but do so in a conventional low-status manner. However, women's adaptation of their persistence to cynic's gender appeared functional.
