The main objective of this paper is to analyze the relationship between women's football and lesbianism during the 1970s in Spain as well as the invisibility characteristics of this group of women in the context of the invisibility of women's football in this period and in the context of the political transition until 1982. In the repressive context of late Francoism and given the validity until 1978 of laws that expressly persecuted homosexuality, social, cultural, legal, and political pressure had a very important impact on lesbian women who participated in the incipient practice of football in Spain in the 1970s. Some of these players built gay social networks through sports clubs and later started clandestine meetings in bars and private celebrations. The period studied—between 1970 and 1982—coincided with the rebirth of women's football in Spain and the international emergence of this sport. The research has been based on the use of in-depth interview as a method and historiographical technique that has allowed us to obtain the life stories of nine lesbian or heterosexual women football players in different Spanish cities (who in general have lived and live in a private sexual identity) and two coaches linked to women's teams. These sources have been expanded and contrasted from others of a documentary nature (specialized press and bibliography) to reconstruct the context studied and contrast the reliability of the information collected. In conclusion, it has been established that, despite the low visibility of women's football and homosexuality, the legal pressure of the period and the opposition of the public authorities and institutions of the dictatorship, the field of football allowed these women to overcome some of the difficulties in the process of building their identity and discrimination based on sexual orientation. In turn, support networks—especially of teammates—private parties and atmosphere bars, were fundamental to the life experience of young lesbian athletes in the still repressive context of the end of the Franco dictatorship and the first years of the young democratic regime in Spain. BACKGROUND: Percutaneous vertebroplasty is the most widely used method for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, and most studies have concluded that percutaneous vertebroplasty increases the probability of adjacent vertebral secondary compression fractures in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. However, controversy remains regarding the risk factors associated with adjacent vertebral re-fracture caused after percutaneous vertebroplasty. OBJECTIVE: To summarize the influencing factors of adjacent vertebral compression fractures after percutaneous vertebroplasty in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, in order to provide a certain reference for reducing the risk of its occurrence as well as formulating the corresponding treatment plan. METHODS: Using “osteoporosis, fracture, percutaneous vertebroplasty, adjacent vertebral compression fractures, risk factors” as the Chinese search terms, “osteoporosis, osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, percutaneous vertebroplasty, adjacent vertebral compression fractures, risk factors” as English search terms, computerized searches were conducted on CNKI, Wanfang Medical Network, VIP, PubMed, Springer, ScienceDirect, and Elsevier databases. The search timeframe focuses on January 2018 through September 2023, with the inclusion of a few classic forward literature. The literature was screened by reading the titles and abstracts, and 83 papers were finally included in the review. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures are one of the most common complications of osteoporosis, placing elderly patients at a significant risk of disability and death. Percutaneous vertebroplasty is a practical and effective treatment for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. (2) With the popularity of percutaneous vertebroplasty, its secondary vertebral compression fractures have gradually increased, with adjacent vertebral compression fractures being the most common. (3) Previous studies have only discussed the effects of factors such as bone mineral density, multiple vertebral fractures, body mass index, age, sex, amount of bone cement, cement leakage, and anti-osteoporosis treatment on secondary compression fractures of adjacent vertebrae after percutaneous vertebroplasty, and summarized the number of vertebral fractures, timing of the operation, surgical approach, cement material, diffuse distribution of bone cement, recovery height of the injured vertebrae, and wearing of a support after surgery, which is not yet comprehensive. The analysis of the specific mechanisms of risk factor-induced adjacent vertebral fractures is relatively rare. (4) The results of the article showed that low bone mineral density, advanced age, perimenopausal women, multiple vertebral fractures, excessive recovery of the height of the injured vertebrae, cement leakage, comorbid underlying diseases, and poor lifestyle habits were the risk factors for secondary adjacent vertebral compression fractures after percutaneous vertebroplasty, and that maintaining a normal body mass index, early surgery, bilateral percutaneous vertebroplasty, use of a new type of cement material, an appropriate volume of bone cement injection and uniform cement dispersion, regular anti-osteoporosis treatment, and postoperative brace wearing are protective factors for secondary adjacent vertebral compression fractures after percutaneous vertebroplasty. Background: Radical cystectomy in women generally includes the removal of the uterus, ovaries, and anterior vaginal wall, but the criteria for reproductive organ sparing are not clear. Methods: A total of 2674 patients with bladder cancer were retrospectively reviewed, having undergone cystectomy at this nationwide multicenter from January 2013 to December 2019. We evaluated the incidence of malignancy in reproductive organs in a cohort of 417 women and analyzed the clinicopathological features of reproductive organ involvement. Recurrence-free survival and overall survival were reported using Kaplan–Meier survival curves. Results: Median follow-up was 36.9 months. Of the 417 patients with urothelial carcinoma of the bladder, 325 underwent hysterectomy, and 92 had a spared uterus and anterior wall of the vagina. Twenty-nine (8.9%) patients exhibited reproductive organ involvement; this consisted of 22 (6.8%) uteri, 16 (4.9%) vaginas, and two (0.6%) ovaries. Incidental primary reproductive malignancies were found in only two (0.6%) patients. Recurrence-free survival and overall survival were significantly shorter in patients with reproductive organ involvement than in those without. Patients with reproductive organ involvement were more likely to have tumors with ≥ cT3 or sub-localization at the posterior/trigone/bladder neck. Conclusions: The risk of reproductive organ involvement cannot be ignored in women undergoing radical cystectomy for urothelial carcinoma of the bladder, therefore, the eligibility criteria for reproductive organ preservation should be considered carefully. Objective Methods Results Conclusion It is extremely important for healthcare professionals to protect patients' privacy during diagnosis and treatment processes related to gynecology and obstetrics and to warn them in case patients' privacy is violated. This study was aimed at determining attitudes of female patients having obstetrics examination towards privacy and raising their awareness of privacy.This cross‐sectional‐descriptive study was conducted with 410 patients who presented to the gynecology and obstetrics outpatient clinic of a university hospital. The survey form consisted of two forms: The descriptive characteristics questionnaire and the body privacy scale for gynecology and obstetrics (BPSGO). Frequency tables, descriptive statistics, Mann–Whitney U‐test, Kruskal–Wallis H‐test, and Bonferroni correction were used in the analysis of the data.The mean age of the participants was 36.75 ± 11.18 years. Of these, 38.0% were in the age group of ≥40 years, 84.0% were married, 66.8% presented to the gynecology clinic, and 58.3% had negative emotions before they had gynecologic examination. Ethics and privacy subscale scores of the single participants were significantly higher than were those of the married participants.It was determined that privacy was affected by cultural characteristics, belief systems and personal values, and that most of the participants were likely to experience negative emotions. It is important to raise health professionals' awareness of privacy by drawing their attention to the value of privacy which is among ethical values in their education and to support the better functioning of legal regulations on this issue. ABSTRACT Although body image is one of the essential concepts that should be addressed in comprehensive care, the question of how body image affects women with schizophrenia remains unanswered. This study aimed to explore the body image experiences of women living with schizophrenia. This study employed a qualitative approach and participants were recruited from a community mental health center in Türkiye. Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with 18 women with schizophrenia. Data were analysed via content analysis. The data were categorised into five themes: (i) body image evaluation, (ii) factors affecting body image, (iii) effects of body image distortion, (iv) coping with body image challenges and (v) protective factors. Schizophrenia affects body functionality, appearance and the self. Women living with schizophrenia experience feelings of shame, sadness, worthlessness and anger related to their body appearance. Body image distortion leads to social distancing and treatment compliance problems. Mental health nurses should support patients to express their feelings and thoughts about the body and recognise their beliefs about ideal body image. Patients should be supported with psychoeducational interventions in the management of symptoms associated with body image disturbance such as weight gain, galactorrhea, sedation and hypersalivation. Etem İzzet Benice, one of the acclaimed authors of the Republican Era, manifests the influences of his professional life and ideology in his novels. The fact that he is a journalist enables him to publish his works as tefrikas, and he writes his novels special emphasis attached to events, with more limited descriptions, and with the aim of presenting them to the public. The most important theme in his literary works is especially the fact that 'women' are the stirred group in a developing society because of the fact that he was grown up with the ideology of the Republic and made his ideas known to the public. Newspaper, love-adventure themes and reader-oriented novels make Etem İzzet Benice a renowned literary writer. Benice, who writes serials in a way to stimulate the public's world of feeling and imagination, publishes his serials as books with the appreciation of the readers. These novels, which deal with subjects that appeal to the readership of the period, present a structure that contains the general characteristics of popular novels. Benice, who stresses on social and ideological theses while appealing to the readership of the period, expands the thematic framework of his novels by dealing not only with love and adventure, but also with national and historical issues. In his novels, Etem İzzet creates a strong bond with the reader as he tries to present what is from the people in the same period. This bond is established especially with women with the effect of the thematic structure of the works. Because in his popular works, he emphasizes different types of female characters and reflects their fondness, passionate passions, upright stances, their efforts in the national struggle and the wounds they received with the changing society. Etem İzzet Benice's novels quickly became a means of uptake by the readers and Etem İzzet Benice continued to open newspapers with the financial rewards he received in this direction and gave his works in this direction. This paper aims to discuss the social role assigned to women through the narratives of She-Ra and Boruto's animations, making connections with the locations where they were created. Boruto and She-Ra were chosen because they were released and completed in relatively close periods and produced in different parts of the world--East and West, respectively. The goal is to establish a relationship between the narratives of these animations and the cultural aspects related to gender roles in the countries that produced them, identify whether an animation can carry gender-related biases, and discuss the different perceptions of women's roles in the West and the East, using She-Ra and Boruto as examples. As a result, it is possible to observe how animations are influenced by gender issues and how they affect and are connected to the lives of various people. Although it is impossible to assert a causal relationship between the region producing the animation and the presence or absence of biases, this work highlights that animations are influenced by their social environment. One of the primary goals of Franco's education policy was to train the working class in the doctrinal principles of the regime. Labour Universities were one of the education institutions created for this purpose; there were three for women (Zaragoza, Cáceres and Huesca). This article focuses on analysing the purposes sought by these macro-institutions when training working-class women, using diverse primary sources: documentary, audiovisual, archive and legal. Findings indicate that Women's Labour Universities aimed to provide specialised vocational training and also to impose the doctrine of the ideological principles advocated by the regime in relation to the model of women. However, these goals were somewhat incompatible as providing women with vocational training promoted their emancipation, contrary to the female ideal mainly advocated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Although some recent studies have examined the health of female Gulf War (GW) deployed and non-deployed GW era veterans, these all relied on self-report, which can be inaccurate and subject to recall bias. This study investigated the current health of GW deployed and non-deployed GW era female and male veterans using Veterans Health Administration (VHA) electronic health records (EHR). Methods: We performed a cohort study of deployed GW and non-deployed GW era veterans, identified from a list from the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). We used the VA-Frailty Index (VA-FI), calculated with VHA administrative claims and EHR, as a proxy measure of current health. Results: We identified 402,869 veterans (351,496 GW deployed; 51,3373 non-deployed GW era; 38,555 female) in VHA databases. Deployed female veterans had the highest VA-FI (i.e., were frailest) despite being younger than deployed and non-deployed male veterans and non-deployed female veterans. Compared with deployed male veterans, deployed females were more likely to be pre-frail, mildly, and moderately frail. Health differences between deployed and non-deployed female veterans were more prominent among older (60+ years) than younger (<60 years) veterans. Conclusions: Mirroring reports from recent, smaller survey studies of users and non-users of VA health care, findings from this cohort study indicate that deployed female GW veterans who use VA health care are frailer and have more health deficits than non-deployed female GW era and deployed male GW veterans. Background Many patients may be tempted to use non-pharmacological home remedies (NPHRs) to relieve various complaints. To the best of our knowledge, there is little data on the characteristics of patients using NPHRs. In this cross-sectional study carried out between March 2020 and July 2021, we examined the socio-demographic factors underlying their use in patient populations in Switzerland and France. Methods Using official registries, we randomly selected 50 primary care physicians (PCPs) in Geneva (Switzerland) and Lyon/Grenoble (France). Seven research assistants consecutively recruited patients from PCP waiting rooms (20–25 patients per practice). Patients completed a paper-based questionnaire assessing the use [yes/no] of 304 NPHRs for 79 medical conditions. The NPHR list was developed by our team with input from 97 patients. We used univariable and multivariable logistic regressions, adjusting for intra-cluster correlations, to examine associations between NPHR use and patient characteristics (gender, age, practice location, nationality, education level, and self-rated health). Results Of the 1198 eligible patients, 1012 agreed to participate (85%). Overall, 635 patients (63%) reported using at least one of the remedies tested in the study. In multivariable analysis, women (OR = 1.7 [95%CI = 1.3–2.3], P -value < 0.001), younger patients (< 40 years: OR = 2.1 [95%CI = 1.6–2.9], P -value < 0.001), and French patients (OR = 1.6 [95%CI = 1.1–2.3], P -value < 0.001) tended to use NPHRs more often than other patients. Conclusions Many patients, particularly women, young people, and French patients, reported using NPHRs. Objective: To identify factors influencing women's perceptions of traumatic childbirth (TCP) and to determine the relationship between TCP, desire to avoid pregnancy, and sexual quality of life. Methods: A descriptive and correlational research study was designed. Data were collected from 225 women aged between 18 and 45 years old. A Demographic Information Form, the Desire to Avoid Pregnancy Scale (DAP), the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire‐Female (SQLQ‐F), and the Perception of Traumatic Childbirth Scale (PTCS) were used for data collection. Results: Women who were not employed, had given birth previously, and did not plan their last pregnancy tended to have higher levels of TCP. Conversely, women who did not experience health problems in their last pregnancy and recalled their last childbirth as very comfortable and happy tended to have lower levels of TCP. A very weak, statistically significant, positive correlation was found between the mean DAP and PTCS scores (r = 0.168, P < 0.05). A very weak, statistically significant, negative correlation was found between the mean SQLQ‐F and PTCS sores (r = −0.138, P < 0.05). A 1‐unit increase in TCP was associated with a 0.005‐unit increase in the desire to avoid pregnancy and a 0.094‐unit decrease in sexual quality of life. Conclusion: TCP in women is associated with an increase in the desire to avoid pregnancy and a decrease in sexual quality of life. It is recommended to identify women with high levels of TCP, determine factors contributing to this perception, and plan appropriate nursing interventions accordingly. Purpose: Sleep disturbances, which are common during pregnancy, may compromise labor. Nevertheless, little is known about associations between sleep disturbances and the likelihood of ending up induction of labor (IOL). Accordingly, we aimed to evaluate the connections between sleep disturbances during pregnancy and IOL. Methods: Altogether 1778 women from the FinnBrain Birth Cohort Study with gestation weeks over 37 + 6 were enrolled in the study. The women were divided into IOL (n = 331) and spontaneous onset of labor (SOL, n = 1447) groups. Sleep disturbances in late pregnancy were evaluated using the Basic Nordic Sleep Questionnaire. Logistic regression analyses were conducted with adjustments for age, body mass index, parity, smoking, and depressive symptoms. Results: Sleep disturbances were frequent in both IOL and SOL groups. In the IOL group 43.0% and in the SOL group 39.0% had poor general sleep quality (P = 0.186). Nocturnal awakenings occurred most commonly, in 94.0% and 93.9%, respectively (P = 0.653). In the IOL group, more women (22.7%) were habitual snorers than in the SOL group (17.0%, P = 0.017), however, the difference lost the statistical significance in adjusted analysis (P = 0.848). Women in the IOL group were more likely to be short sleepers (< 7 h) compared to those in the SOL group (20.2% and 15.4%, respectively, P = 0.034) with no difference after adjustment (P = 0.133). The two groups showed no differences in sleep loss (P = 0.252). Conclusions: Deterioration in sleep quality was noticeable in pregnant women, but it was unconnected with IOL. How does spirituality relate to ageing for Muslim women? The purpose of this study was to better understand the experience and intersections of ageing, spirituality, and health for Muslim women in Canada. This better understanding would be beneficial for care providers who may be unaware of the needs of ageing Muslim women. Four Muslim women, each in their fifties, participated in a qualitative, semi-structured interview. Seven themes were identified to be most relevant: Faith, identity, spiritual wisdom, accommodation, self-care, perceived judgement, and reconnecting the Muslim community. Background: Intensive lifestyle interventions were effective to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) for women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) history. However, reaching these mothers and maintaining participation in lifestyle interventions is suboptimal in real-world settings. Effective, feasible and sustainable new lifestyle interventions are needed. The objectives of this three-arm trial are to (1) compare diabetes risk outcomes of an evidence-based intensive lifestyle modification (ILSM) intervention, a camp-style lifestyle modification program (CAMP) intervention, and usual care among women with GDM history; and (2) evaluate the comparative efficacy of the CAMP versus ILSM intervention on implementation outcomes. Methods: A three-arm cluster randomized clinical trial (RCT) using a hybrid type 2 implementation design will be conducted in two counties in Hunan province in China. Six towns from each county will be randomly selected and assigned to CAMP, ILSM, and the usual care group (25 women from each of 12 towns, 100 women in each arm). The ILSM includes six biweekly in-person sessions and 3-month telephone health consultations, while the CAMP consists of a 2-day camp-based session and 3-month health consultations via a popular social media platform. Both interventions share the same session content, including six lifestyle skills. Efficacy (T2DM risk score and behavioral, anthropometric, psychosocial, and glycemic variables) and implementation outcomes (recruitment, acceptability, feasibility, fidelity, and cost-effectiveness) will be collected at baseline, 6-month, and 12-month. Pre-planned ANOVA F-test and generalized estimating equations will be included to test time-by-arm interactions. Discussion: The CAMP intervention is expected to have better reach, better attendance, and comparable effectiveness in reducing the risk of T2DM, thus improving postpartum care for GDM in China. The delivery of a concentrated format supplemented with technology-based support may provide an efficient and effective delivery model for implementing maternal health promotion programs in primary care settings. Drawing on previous work, I argue that a family resemblance account of the concept woman has several beneficial consequences. Namely, it promotes hermeneutical justice, and, in time, it may serve to change the prototypes and stereotypes people tend unreflectively to associate with woman. I claim that only at that point will full hermeneutical justice be achieved. To this end, I propose a reconceptualization of the notion of hermeneutical injustice, first presented by Fricker (2007). First, I present the family resemblance account of woman. Accordingly, that concept isn’t identified by a set of necessary and (jointly) sufficient conditions, but, roughly, by different criteria. Second, I show how concepts, prototypes and stereotypes relate to one another and how they may contribute to hermeneutical injustice. Finally, I show how the proposed account of woman may in time foster a change in the associated prototype and stereotypes, which will ameliorate societies by doing more justice to the lived experience of trans women – that is, by promoting full hermeneutical justice. However, a notable a notable research gap exists in the application of clinical scales for menopause management by general practitioners (GPs). This study aims to investigate willingness of GPs to use specific menopausal scale tools in the care of females for menopause management.An anonymous online survey was developed, which received responses from 348 French GPs in 2023. Multiple backward logistic regression was performed to identify the factors influencing the willingness to use a practical menopause management scale.In total, 87.93% of GPs are not familiar with the Greene Climacteric Scale and 90.52% are not familiar with the Menopause Quick 6 scale. In contrast, 90.52% would be interested in having access to such scales. The willingness to use a menopause management scale is associated with caring for menopausal females (odds ratio [OR] = 6.13, 95% confidence interval [CI] [2.08–18.08], p = 0.001), less experience (OR = 7.10, 95% CI [2.05–25.22], p = 0.002), the importance of health prevention in daily practice (comparing ‘very important’ to ‘not’, OR = 12.98, 95% CI [1.68–97.60], p = 0.004) and the use of a digital scale in daily practice for menopausal management (OR = 2.13, 95% CI [1.04–5.83], p = 0.014).Future research is essential in representative population to confirm these findings in menopause management. Indicators are a form of coding that has an important function in ensuring communication in human life and can rank relationships at a certain level and even set boundaries. Indicators play an active role in reaching the target audience through their carriers and transmitters in the communication system they are connected to. Newspapers, which are part of the mass media, are effective at establishing a connection with the reader and helping the codes gain meaning. The purpose of the narrator is to convey to the target audience a certain idea in the context of the subject of the message and to ensure that the desired opinion has a widespread impact. The fact that newspaper news contains many symbols in the context of the use of pictures, letters, and font size makes a serious contribution to semiotic analysis. In this study, the column titled 'Woman Has No Name', published in Siirt Newspaper on March 7, 2022, was examined with semiotic analysis. In the analysis, after drawing attention to the position of women in the world and in our society, the text was analyzed with its sections in the context of the theme, referent and sign system, and word choices. Thus, the effects of the findings obtained on culture and life, the reflections of these effects on the world of meaning, the narrative language of the newspaper news, and the codes implicit in the text were brought out from the deep structure to the surface structure, and a different perspective on semiotics was presented. In this paper, it will be shown that Genesis 3:16 parallels the Messianic prophecy of Genesis 3:15 with which it also shares significant linguistic links and literary features. From this literary observation, it will be established that the two key words "desire" and "rule" have a positive significance which is further supported by the literary and syntactical construction of the sentences. The positive understanding of Genesis 3:16 in the light of Genesis 3:15 will also be reinforced and illuminated by the comparative analysis with the parallel text of Genesis 4:7. Rather than proclaiming the tragic "curse" of the subordinated woman in her relationship with man, the connection of Genesis 3:16 with Genesis 3:15 brings a message of blessing in the perspective of redemption. Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes, behaviours and experiences of infertile women towards sexuality. Methods: This study was carried out in the infertility outpatient clinic of a state hospital in Istanbul of Turkey. Fifteen infertile women who had been receiving primary infertility treatment for at least two years and were actively continuing infertility treatment were included in the study. Data were collected by means of an detailed information form and a semi-structured interview. Content analysis was applied to the data obtained from semi-structured interviews. Consistency percentage calculation was made between the codes and themes determined by 4 researchers who are experts in their fields. Results: Results based on the interviews with the participants, 2 main themes, 6 sub-themes and 27 codes related to sub-themes were determined as 'Factors Affecting Sexual Life' and 'Overview of Sexual Health and Sexuality'. 'Disappointment' was determined as the most commonly defined code in the determined main theme and sub-themes. Conclusion: It was determined that the majority of infertile women base their sexual lives on reproductive functions, experience serious sexual health problems, feel worthless, and describe their sexual life as a great disappointment. Background: Breast and cervical cancer are the most common cancers in women, and are associated with high morbidity and mortality rates. Cancer screening can facilitate early diagnosis, reduce mortality, and ease the burden of cancer. Social support and self-efficacy are strongly associated with cancer screening behavior. The present study aimed to explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy on social support and cancer screening behavior. Methods: In this cross-sectional survey study conducted from June to October 2023, 312 women aged 35–65 years were recruited from the East Coast area of China. A general information questionnaire, cancer screening behavior questionnaire, social support scale and self-efficacy scale were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the general characteristics of participants; one-way analysis of variance was used to test for differences in the measured variables; and Pearson's correlation analyses were used to describe the relationship among social support, self-efficacy, and cancer screening behavior. A mediation model was constructed and analyzed using the PROCESS macro for SPSS. Results: The mean (standard deviation) screening behavior score for breast cancer and cervical cancer was 3.98 (2.79), representing an intermediate level. Self-efficacy was closely related to social support and cancer screening behavior. Social support showed a significant positive correlation with self-efficacy (r = 0.37, p < 0.01) and cancer screening behavior (r = 0.18, p < 0.01). Self-efficacy was also significantly positively correlated with cancer screening behavior (r = 0.19, p < 0.05). Self-efficacy showed a full mediating effect between social support and cancer screening behavior, with an explanatory power of 32%. Conclusions: The findings emphasize the need to increase women's level of social support and self-efficacy, which in turn can increase women's participation in breast and cervical cancer screening. Journalists and social commentators from the Western, Southern, and Northern United States found in the fit, patriotic, and stoic demeanor of Spartan women, a model for the politically active and publicly involved the "new woman" that they increasingly desired. Background: The covid-19 disease has caused death shock all over the world. The consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic can lead to complex and long-term bereavement in a large number of people. In previous studies, the lived experience of bereavement in the context of the family has been less studied; especially regarding the identification of factors related to bereavement in the bereavement in covid-19 mourners, there is a research gap. Aims: The present study was conducted with the aim of identifying the factors related to bereavement in the mourners of Covid-19. Methods: This study was conducted with a qualitative approach and using the phenomenological method. The statistical population of the research included all women living in Tehran who had lost one of their first-degree relatives (including sisters, brothers, parents or spouses) due to the disease of Covid-19. During this study, using purposeful sampling, 25 women were subjected to semistructured in-depth interviews from May 2021 to October 2022. The conducted interviews were also analyzed in six stages using the thematic analysis method of Brown and Clark (2006). Results: The data analysis of this research led to the identification of 236 primary codes, 22 secondary themes, 22 main themes and 6 Canopy themes (Incomplete bereavement, coping strategies, multifaceted grief, attachment style, identity change and the meaning of death). Conclusion: The results obtained from the present study showed that the factors related to bereavement in covid-19 mourners are different from normal bereavements, Therefore, it is suggested that psychologists specializing in bereavement use the themes identified in the present study to develop treatment protocols related to the treatment of bereavement in women. This article examines the cycle of gender violence against women in the Ecuadorian context, focusing on how the different phases of the cycle degenerate into patterns of abuse. Aim: Mood disorders are significantly connected with sexual functioning impairment among women. The aim of this study was to assess and describe specifics of sexual expression and its dysfunction in groups of women diagnosed with bipolar disorders (F31), major depressive disorder (F32 and F33) and persistent mood disorders (F34). Material and Methods: The sample comprised 129 female patients aged 19-65. Subjects were recruited in the Polish psychiatry hospital wards. Patients were interviewed using the sexological questionnaire Mell-Krat (Kromierzyńska's version) for women (SFK/K) for clinical assessment of patients' mood Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS), and Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) were used. Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test (AUDIT) was also used to control alcohol addiction's influence on sexual functions. Results: The mean final score in SFK/K for the whole sample was 35.3 points (SD=15.65), clearly below the cut-off point for the average level of sexual reaction for the Polish population. More than 88.4% of patients achieved scores lower than optimal. Discussion: The prevalence of sexual dysfunctions among women suffering from mood disorders is increased. However, the image of the sexual expression of those patients is not homogenous. Conclusion: The paper put light on the sexual functioning of women with mood disorders. Case: An overall healthy 48-year-old man suffered a left foot mangled crush injury resulting in a post-transmetatarsal amputation and subsequently developing a painful neuroma on the plantar surface of the foot. To avoid the zone of injury, targeted muscle reinnervation was used to treat the neuroma by coapting the tibial nerve to the motor point of the flexor hallucis longus (FHL) muscle. At 1-year follow-up, the patient reported no pain at rest, returned to work, and could ambulate with an orthosis for 30 minutes. This article examines the configuration of the female subject in the literary discourse of Wayuu writers Vicenta Siosi Pino and Estercilia Simanca Pushaina, exploring the connections between memories and events that shape the cultural memory of their community. From this point of view, an analysis is proposed on the relevance of the past when revealing traces of historical events that set a precedent within the oral tradition of the ethnic group. In this regard, the main finding is that, through the fictional content of their narrated testimonies, a link is established between culture, the contemporary world, and the worldview of women as a proposal for continuity or rupture with the implications of fulfilling this role within the community. The concept of urban resilience or urban resilience in literature; although it is often considered in the area of climate change or natural disasters, it also has economic, social and cultural dimensions. It is therefore necessary to consider the city as a whole and also consider the social and economic situations, quality of life and spatial areas of the people living in the city in the context of urban resilience. It is highlighted that disadvantaged groups living in cities are more affected by shocks experienced by the city, taking into account that urban resilience cannot be kept separate from social risks. Women, who make up half of society, are thought to feel urban shocks and urban poverty more. So the question of the research is does increasing women's participation in economic life increase their urban resilience? To survive these risks with minimal damage, women's education levels need to be improved, their employment increased. in the EU with EUROSTAT data; the TUIK data assessed the position of women in Turkey and the possibility of building urban resistance. Economic, education and security themes were selected and data on these themes were examined when this assessment was carried out. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of women in the reproductive period about Premenstrual Syndrome. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 228 patients who applied to Karabük Training and Research Hospital Family Medicine Outpatient Clinic between 07.12.2023 and 17.12.2023. In the study, men, women who were not in the reproductive period, pregnant women, foreign nationals and those who did not volunteer to participate in the study were excluded from the study. There was no sample selection in the study and all volunteers were included in the study. In the study, a questionnaire consisting of three parts and 35 questions created by literature review was applied face-to-face. Results: In the study; There was a significant correlation between the presence of chronic disease and dysmenorrhea (p=0.033) and between the presence of chronic disease and regular menstruation (p=0.021). A statistically significant correlation was found between the use of birth control pills and regular menstruation (p=0.019) and between physical complaints and dysmenorrhea during menstruation (p=0.002). With mental complaints experienced during menstruation; A statistically significant correlation was found between dysmenorrhea and regular menstruation (p<0.001, p=0.028, respectively), and between PMS in relatives and dysmenorrhea (p=0.011). When dysmenorrhea and menstrual cycle were evaluated according to sociodemographic data, it was determined that 60.1% of the participants had dysmenorrhea, 77.2% had regular menstruation, 76.3% thought that PMS negatively affected the quality of life, 74.6% found it right to pay attention to nutrition, and 75% thought that physical activity made PMS milder. In the dysmenorrhea and menstrual pattern of individuals; There was no statistically significant difference in terms of educational status (p=0.847; p=0.661, respectively), marital status (p=0.351; p=0.852, respectively), presence of children (p=0.657; p=0.779, respectively), type of delivery in birthing patients (p=0.478; p=0.372, respectively), economic status (p=0.458; p=0.550, respectively), presence of regularly used drugs (p=0.844; p=0.280, respectively), and age of first menstruation (p=0.111; p=0.591, respectively). Conclusion: In the light of the findings obtained in the study, it was determined that women thought that PMS had physical and psychological negative effects. It is thought that the increase in research on PMS will raise awareness in the approach of family physicians working in primary health care institutions to patients presenting with premenstrual syndrome. The romantic peasant speech that began in Europe in the 18th century and gathered momentum in the 19th century and was dominant in Türkiye in the 20th century, resulted in the early collection work focusing on villages or rural places. To the end that the purest state of cultural features were found in villages, this understanding incloses folklore to the borders of the village and puts fields of folklore into certain mould frames, has begun to change through urbanization processes. Türkiye’s situation, which has witnessed rapid and radical changes through industrialization, borders between urban and rural areas are becoming increasingly indistinct as a result of some cultural, economic, political and physical/geographical factors such as a human action, migration, the increase of the number of metropolitan cities and transforming villages into neighborhoods. It has also begun to gradually destroy the sense that its purest condition should be sought in the villages (peripheries). Although this change in sense initially led folklorists to think that the compilation areas and informants (oral sources) disappeared, the term "urban folklore" was later produced and began to deal with folklore, the city, urban areas and urban people. At the same time, the fact that the city population is around 92% today and this ratio is expected to reach 95% in the future brings to mind whether cultural elements can only be created in rural areas. Individuals, who create and transmit cultural features, are going on producing according to places they live in, and the rural or urban status of these places causes these elements to experience some changes. In a period when the majority of the population stayed in urban areas, some of the cultural elements that can’t be considered independently of the individuals who create and transmit them, are no longer applied depending on the urban spaces that should be evaluated within the contextual features, and some of them are maintained by being re-established or undergoing change. By any case, the urban folklore, which refers us to think about all the parameters of the city together, also includes the entire heterogeneous structure of the city. One of the traditional practices that should be evaluated within the urban folklore is the day usually organized by women. Finally, the creation of the urban environment, although it is frequently organized by women, in some cases men can be seen as participants that have many functions. Special days when it is possible to define meetings established on functions like eating and drinking, clothing, time-space, means of saving, entertainment (dance and music), oral cultural products, communication (accepted days with its first form and naming), such as the Ottoman Empire, that ruled in big cities from its last years to the first years, especially in Istanbul. During the historical process, the days that expand from cities to towns (districts) and then to villages, are one of the important representations of folklore in the urban environment, but also presents an example of traditional practice. This example reveals how folklore is represented in urban environments, with the creation and transfer of the above-mentioned involved structures it contains, apart from the practice itself being a traditional meeting created and transmitted in the urban environment. From this point of view, this study discusses and exemplifies the relationship between the city and the day and how folklore is represented and exhibited in the urban environment through the day effect. Before the mentioned exemplification, information will be given about the processes of urbanization and the inclusion of cities in the field of folklore; the transformation of the application from the “kabul günü” to the “gün” will be handled in parallel with these processes. In Islamic judicial law, The position of women in the context of witness testimony varies. While the testimony of women in criminal cases was rejected in the nisab division, where the nature of the case was important, their testimony was accepted as valid under certain conditions in civil cases. When they are required to testify in economic transactions, the testimony of two women is requested against one man, and the role of one of the two women is explained as the 'performance of the duty of reminding'. This has led to the entrenched belief in the literature that women are positioned this way in matters of testimony because they are considered relatively weaker in intellectual capabilities compared to men. According to the findings of the science of psychology, women are considered superior to men in matters such as memory and mastery of details. However, their association with 'forgetfulness' in the context of their position in the matter of testimony suggests a problem with the scope of the reasoning of the evidence in Islamic law. The purpose of this study is to make a contribution suggesting that instead of narrowing the ruling solely to women's forgetfulness, it would be more accurate to address the issue within the broader meaning expressed by the text and taking into account the overall effects arising from women's emotions and biology. Study Design: A retrospective cohort study using the Kaplan-Meier method with propensity-score matching. Purpose: To evaluate whether the presence of prevalent morphometric vertebral fractures (VFs) poses a risk for subsequent clinical VFs after short-fusion surgery in women aged ≥60 years with degenerative spondylolisthesis. Overview of Literature: VFs are common osteoporotic fractures and are associated with a low quality of life. Subsequent VFs are a complication of instrumented fusion in patients with degenerative lumbar disorders. Thus, risk factors for subsequent VFs after fusion surgery must be analyzed. Population-based studies have suggested that prevalent morphometric VFs led to a higher incidence of subsequent VFs in postmenopausal women; however, no studies have investigated whether prevalent morphometric VFs are a risk factor for subsequent VFs after fusion surgery in patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis. Methods: The study enrolled a total of 237 older female patients: 50 and 187 patients had prevalent morphometric VFs (VF [+] group) and nonprevalent morphometric VFs (VF [−] group), respectively. The time to subsequent clinical VFs after fusion surgery was compared between the two groups using the Kaplan-Meier method. Moreover, 40 and 80 patients in the VF (+) and VF (−) groups, respectively, were analyzed and matched by propensity scores for age, follow-up duration, surgical procedure, number of fused segments, body mass index, and number of patients treated for osteoporosis. Results: Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that the VF (+) group had a higher incidence of subsequent clinical VFs than the VF (−) group, and Cox regression analysis showed that the presence of prevalent morphometric VFs was an independent risk factor for subsequent clinical VFs before matching. Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated comparable results after matching. Conclusions: The presence of prevalent morphometric VFs may be a risk factor for subsequent clinical VFs in older women with degenerative spondylolisthesis who underwent short-fusion surgery. Introduction: Female sexual dysfunction is very common, but its determinants remain under‐investigated. Vasculogenic impairments are suggested to be related to female sexual dysfunction, but previous literature regarding the association is scarce. This study aims to study the association between arterial health and female sexual function in women in their 60s. Material and methods: The sample for this cross‐sectional study comprised 117 women (aged 60–64 years) who participated in the Finnish Retirement and Aging study. Arterial health was measured according to the participants' pulse wave velocity, ankle–brachial index, blood pressure, and pulse pressure. Sexual function was measured using the Female Sexual Function Index, which resulted in a total score and six sub‐scores. Associations were examined using multivariable regression analyses, which were adjusted for age, relationship happiness, systemic menopausal hormone therapy and/or local estrogen, smoking, alcohol risk use, body mass index, and depressive symptoms. Results: Higher diastolic blood pressure was associated with a higher total Female Sexual Function Index score (β = 0.24, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.07–0.41) and with higher desire (β = 0.02, 95% CI 0.01–0.04), arousal (β = 0.04, 95% CI 0.01–0.08), lubrication (β = 0.04, 95% CI 0.002–0.08), satisfaction (β = 0.03, 95% CI 0.003–0.05), and pain (β = 0.06, 95% CI 0.02–0.10) sub‐scores. Also, higher ankle–brachial index was associated with higher satisfaction sub‐score (β = 2.10, 95% CI 0.44–3.73) and lower pulse pressure was associated with higher orgasm sub‐score (β = 0.03, 95% CI 0.0002–0.06). Other associations between ankle–brachial index and Female Sexual Function Index scores were statistically insignificant, but considering the magnitude the findings may imply clinical significance. Systolic blood pressure and pulse wave velocity were not associated with sexual function. Conclusions: This study suggested a plausible association between higher diastolic blood pressure and female sexual function, but considering clinical significance our findings suggest an association between higher ankle–brachial index and good sexual function in women in their 60s. One of my principal lines of research concerns the way Roman Law was reinterpreted by jurists of the ius commune, together with the study of this process in historical Valencian regional law. This strand coincides with another important line of my research work: the study and analysis of the legal position of women in history. As a link between these two approaches, this study is intended to analyse the texts relating to criminal law in the Furs de València of James I (Jaume I) of Aragon insofar as they concern women and the female context. This exegetical methodology will be used to determine the extent to which the sources of Roman Law and the ius commune were received in the texts of the Furs. Theory will also be developed on the reasons for the presumed lack of direct reception of those sources in this area, despite the fact that the Furs form one of the most Romanised medieval law codes. The issue of gender is a topic that has been emphasized and on the agenda in recent years. Women, who have been in a secondary position with the effect of patriarchy throughout the historical process, continue their struggle against sexist perception and the social pressure it creates. The perception of gender in Turkey appears in various forms such as violence against women, attribution of honor to women, honor killings, glass ceiling, and wage inequality. The views of parliamentarians in Turkey on gender are also very important for Turkey's agenda. This research was conducted to determine the gender perception of parliamentarians in Turkey. This research was designed using the phenomenological research design of qualitative research between January 2022 and 2023. The research sample consists of 21 people who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study among the deputies serving in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Since there is no set rule for the sample size in qualitative research designs and the sample size has a flexible structure that can be decided in accordance with the research question and purpose, the sample size was obtained by the method of reaching theoretical saturation. The interviews were conducted individually using the personal information form and the semi-structured interview form. Six main categories related to the gender perception of parliamentarians in Turkey have been determined. These categories are gender perception in Turkey, gender equality in politics, rights of women politicians, being a parliamentarian in Turkey, the success status of women politicians, and sexist discourses in politics. It has been determined that gender consists of two sexes, men, and women, and that the roles assigned to men and women are different, Women are more active in home and family life, while men are active in public and social spheres. However, it has been concluded that each gender is more successful in its own field. Accordingly, it has been concluded that the duties assigned to female parliamentarians are lighter and lower than those assigned to male parliamentarians, their participation rates are quite low, the quota application has not been introduced, and the views of male parliamentarians on this issue are negative, and all these views are gender related. Among sayings, poems, images, and postcards, we stir the desire to invent other Amazons and multiply the ideas of the Amazonian woman. In this work, we weave thoughts based on the formative journey of two master's students from the Graduate Program in Science Education in the Amazon, who design inventive ways of generating social impact. The article is the result of an experimentation based on the Philosophy of Difference with (dis)words and (dis)images with geography undergraduates from the State University of Amazonas. Grounded in Foucaultian self-writing and Manoel de Barros's transvision, we discuss how we are habituated to seeing and describing the Amazon and the Amazonian woman, as well as its effects on teaching. It is understood that self-writing mobilized by experimentation is both a force to displace the fixations that inhabit us and a reinvention of the Amazon and the Amazonian woman by providing multiple, smaller, and singular constitutions. With the scope of this study, Nasrettin Hodja's jokes on women were selected to understand women with Nasrettin Hodja. Nasrettin Hodja's jokes, one of the universal faces of Turkish culture, are important in terms of literature and the sociology of women. In particular, the social and intellectual foundations of the national and universal dimension of the suggestions that create a perception of women within the framework of the universal dimension of the jokes identified with the Turkish people and intersecting with the realities of humanity should be understood. The social function of Nasrettin Hodja jokes holding the hand of time, the role of social control and culture transmitter, the perception of women that can affect our reflexes with the approach formed by the belief, emotion, thought, and perspective on which it is based should be understood. The translation was intended to contribute to Nasrettin Hodja's international recognition from a certain perspective with a woman's understanding and approach. Out of 371 Nasreddin Hodja jokes, 70 of them related in some way to women were translated from Turkish to English. Alpay Kabacalı's book All Aspects of Nasreddin Hodja's Life, Personality and Jokes was preferred in the translation. According to the WHO, aging is considered healthy when an individual's functional capacity and well-being are preserved. With the increase in the elderly population, there is a growing need for health policies aimed at this public. In relation to the elderly female body, there are historical and cultural disadvantages. The body image, expectations, and reflections that older women have of themselves dictate their perception of body and health. Therefore, it is important to highlight their reflections in light of reality. Understanding the perspectives of elderly women about their bodies and their awareness of ancestry regarding how this group perceives itself is crucial. This research is qualitative, cross-sectional, observational, and analytical, with a purposeful sample, comprised of elderly participants from the Open University for Seniors at the State University of Piauí, Brazil. Data collection was conducted using a semi-structured guide with open-ended questions, and the results were analyzed using Laurence Bardin's (2004) Content Analysis Technique. From the interviews, it was possible to identify the categories: "Movement, potentialities, and barriers"; "Maternal figure of reference"; "Self-learning: experience as a source of knowledge about the body"; and "Self-image, body complexes, and perspectives on body weight". Aim: This study was conducted to determine the experiences of women who encountered loss in the prenatal period. Method: This study was a qualitative study conducted using the phenomenological method and was conducted according to the guidelines of the COREQ checklist. A total of 11 women who were experienced loss in the early prenatal period were interviewed. The data were analyzed using the content analysis. Results: Three main themes and eight sub-themes emerged. The themes were light of life (bubble of happiness, journey), dark farewell (silent scream inside, unfinished tale: motherhood, loneliness, family approach) and obscurity (uncertainty about the future, need for support). Women expressed that the loss process had negative effects on their mental health and that they needed help. Conclusion: Pregnancy illuminates women's lives, while prenatal loss involves intense and various negative emotions, and women need support in many ways. These results show that women who experienced loss in the prenatal period should be allowed to express their feelings, thoughts and experiences, and the risks in terms of mental health should be reduced by supporting them during the loss and mourning process. INTRODUCTION: The burden of alcohol-related complications is considerable, particularly alcohol-associated liver disease and alcohol use disorder (AUD). However, there are deficiencies in comprehensive epidemiological research focusing on these issues, especially among young women who display higher susceptibility to such complications compared with their male counterparts. We thus aimed to determine the global burden of these conditions in this vulnerable group. METHODS: Leveraging data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019, we analyzed the prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years of alcohol-associated cirrhosis (AC), liver cancer from alcohol, and AUD in young women. The findings were categorized by region, nation, and sociodemographic index. RESULTS: The highest age-standardized prevalence rates were observed in AUD (895.96 [95% uncertainty interval (UI) 722.6--1,103.58]), followed by AC (65.33 [95% UI 48.37--86.49]) and liver cancer from alcohol (0.13 [95% UI 0.09--0.19]) per 100,000 people. The highest age-standardized mortality rates were observed in AC (0.75 [95%UI 0.55--0.97]), followed by AUD (0.48 [95%UI 0.43--0.53]) and liver cancer from alcohol (0.06 [95% UI 0.04--0.09]). The highest burdens of AC and AUD were observed in Central Europe, whereas the high-income Asia Pacific had the highest burden of liver cancer from alcohol. DISCUSSION: Throughout the past decade, the trend of AUD varied among regions while the impact of alcohol-associated liver disease has increased, requiring urgent public health strategy to mitigate these complications, particularly in female patients in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Pandemic-induced anxiety can have adverse mental and somatic health consequences on cancer patients (CP). This study aimed to (1) explore the intricate relationships between worry related to potential SARS-CoV-2 infection, COVID-19 perception, sociodemographic factors, and the perceived effectiveness of lockdown measures and (2) investigate if these relationships differ between cancer patients and individuals without a history of cancer (IWHC). We conducted a cross-sectional quantitative study in France between December 1 and 14, 2020. Network analysis was employed on a sample of 1889 women, including 282 cancer patients and 1607 noncancer individuals. Our findings indicate that CP were 20% more likely to express worry than IWHC. Anxiety is embedded within a complex network involving sociodemographic, cognitive, and emotional factors. The emotional components related to COVID-19 perception were found to play a crucial role. The networks for both groups were observed to be identical. Our study underscores the heightened vulnerability of cancer patients to pandemic-induced anxiety, emphasizing the crucial role of emotional components related to COVID-19 perception. The observed similarities in the anxiety network between cancer patients and those without a history of cancer suggest that universal approaches might be effective across groups. Utilizing the Causal Attitude Network Model, we propose potential methods for managing and reducing individual anxiety levels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To identify what is currently known about how women experience online antenatal education. Design: Integrative literature review. Review Methods: This integrative review applied the five‐stage methodological framework outlined by Whittemore and Knafl (2005), supporting rigour in problem identification, selection and critical appraisal of quality literature, data analysis and synthesis of findings. Data Sources: A literature search was conducted in May/June 2022, utilizing databases including OVID Embase, CINAHL, Joanna Briggs Institute EBP database, Nursing and Allied Health database, Wiley Online Library, Google scholar search engine and related reference lists. The search was limited to English language and primary research articles published in the last 10‐year period (2012–2022). Results: 12 articles met inclusion criteria. Three primary themes were identified: Comprehensibility: Looking back – understanding women's needs and preferences; Manageability: In the moment – flexibility versus social connection; and Meaningfulness & sustainability: Looking forward – the future of digital maternity education. Conclusion: Findings identified a marked digital divide for women accessing online antenatal education, placing vulnerable women at risk of continuing inequity. E‐health literacy frameworks need to be implemented to create genuine accessibility, comprehensibility and cultural responsiveness to best meet the needs of users. Implications for the Profession and/or Health Care Consumer: As digital health is an emerging field, there is strong evidence that online antenatal education requires further evaluation to better meet the needs of pregnant women and their support people. Enhancing digital health literacy for health professionals will also promote a greater understanding for how to uphold and support the socio‐technical dimensions of online service delivery. Background Rape, as an adverse incidence, leads to irreparable complications and consequences in women. Provision of health services to women survivors of rape requires catering for their real needs and identifying current deficits as well as barriers. The present study aimed to explore health system-related needs in women survivors of rape. Methods In the present qualitative study, the participants consisted of 39 individuals, including 19 women survivors of rape and 20 individuals with work experience in providing services to women survivors of rape. The participants were selected using the purposive sampling method with a maximum variation in Isfahan, Iran. Data were collected through in-depth interviews as well as field notes and were concurrently analyzed via conventional qualitative content analysis method. Results After analyzing the interviews, the health system-related needs of women survivors of rape were classified into two main categories: 1- The need for efficient medical care services with three sub-categories, namely “receiving services with respect for privacy and confidentiality”, “non-judgmental behavior and approach”, and “the need to receive empathy and the feeling of not being alone”, and 2- The need for desirable conditions and structure to provide services with two sub-categories, namely “the need to receive comprehensive and integrated services”, and “establishing specialized centers for providing services to survivors”. Conclusions Overall, explaining and highlighting the health system-related needs of women survivors of rape could provide a suitable basis for policy-making and planning according to their real needs. Receiving continuous services in separate centers with confidentiality and empathy could reduce the worries and concerns of women survivors of rape and help improve their health. This article presents results of a research carried out whose objective was to analyze the intervention of the IMAS in the socio-material and ideologicalcultural conditions of the "poor working women", who participated in the Bridge to Development Strategy during 2015-2018. The study used a qualitative approach based on a Marxist theoretical-methodological base and the contributions of the theory of social reproduction. The aim of this study is to offer a close look to the labour carried out by women in Costa Rica according to the 1864 and 1883 censuses and to establish their relationships with gender representations through a comparative perspective. The results reveal that there were evident quantitative changes from one census to the other and that the said changes were related not only to economic, but also to cultural factors, associated to gender representations. People prefer urban living spaces to live due to the development of technology, the high level of institutionalization, the abundance and diversity of business areas . Intensive migration from rural areas to cities causes an increase in the search for new settlements in cities, infrastructure problems, transportation problems, education and health problems. In addition, although the geographical conditions are not suitable and the risk of natural disasters is high, it causes people to live in houses built in settlements defined as disaster areas (fault line). This situation causes social resilience to decrease and vulnerabilities to increase in case of any disaster. Resilience varies according to personality traits, gender, educational level, social status, urban infrastructure and geographical location. Disadvantaged groups such as women, children and disabled elderly are much more affected by these disasters. The resilience of women identified among disadvantaged groups is lower due to their gender roles. In this context, the main problem of the study is that the disadvantage brought by gender inequality increases the vulnerability of women in the earthquake. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the vulnerabilities of women resulting from their gender roles in the earthquake and the reasons for these vulnerabilities. The study consists of three parts. The first section includes information about women's gender roles, natural disasters and vulnerabilities caused by natural disasters, and the method of the study. In the method of the study, interpretive epistemology was used and the interview technique, which is a qualitative research technique, was applied. The data analysis obtained through the interview technique was interpreted using critical discourse analysis. In the second chapter, the research findings of the study are included and the vulnerabilities experienced by women affected by the earthquake are discussed from a sociological perspective. It is noteworthy in the findings of the study that women are exposed to gender inequality before, during and after the disaster. Although there is no definitive date for the crime of theft, it can be said that - just like other crimes - it is an action that can be traced back to human existence. The crime of theft has expanded to include crimes committed primarily by individuals, and in the process of socialization, by society. When evaluated at an individual level, for the actions to be committed, at least two people are needed, namely the defendant and the plaintiff, to carry out the action. At this stage, it can be thought that the crime will have a more limited area in terms of size and materiality, while the impact and punishments of crimes committed in society during the socialization process will be more comprehensive. It will be tried to determine whether theft was turned into a business in society in the classical period Ottoman Üsküdar, whether it was done individually or with professional teams. In addition, the study will try to answer many problematic questions such as what the sanctions of the Sharia law rules were for those who committed the crime of theft whether penalties were applied, and in what cases they were applied, by investigating the cases and their results reflected in the Üsküdar courts. Ayfer Tunç, who started her writing career in newspapers and magazines in the 1980s, addresses the difficulties of being a woman in a selfish, opportunistic, hypocritical, greedy, deceitful, and objectifying society in her latest novel, Kuru Kız. The symbolic narrative of the novel allows for both thematic and psychoanalytic examination, which can be interpreted through concepts such as Freud's Oedipus Complex, Kristeva's "abjection," and Arendt's "banality of evil." The connections between these concepts and the novel Kuru Kız are interpreted with examples from the text. There are significant parallels between the harassment of the sister by her brother and the subsequent events, and the mythological story of Oedipus, indicating a psychoanalytic construct where "The Brother" character embodies traces of guilt and abjection. The behavior of the neighborhood residents exemplifies thoughtlessness and lack of judgment, in line with Arendt's concept of the banality of evil. The concepts of abjection and disgust serve as symbols of "resistance" against the evils portrayed by the other two concepts in Kuru Kız's inner monologues. Ultimately, the novel allocates a significant portion of its narrative to the psychological and sociological roots of the evils manifested or endured by Kuru Kız and those around her. The author suggests "taking action" as a way out for women through the message conveyed in the novel. Merely being aware is not sufficient for women to find peace in their lives; they must bravely implement the necessary changes. The novel Kuru Kız contains strong evidence to be considered an example of a female bildungsroman, as it encapsulates the coming-of-age story of a woman. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Berdinazar Khudaynazarov is one of the important representatives of Turkmen literature of the 20th century. Berdinazar Hudaynazarov is a poet, writer, screenwriter, dramaturg, critic, journalist, translator and politician. In addition to his poems, novels and stories, he has written radio plays, literary conversation articles and introductory articles about poets and poetry books. Since he started his literary career by writing poems, he was first recognised for his poems. Later on, he wrote prose works in addition to his poems and showed that he was also a master in writing with his novels, stories, politicalsocial writings, literary articles and film scripts. Khudaynazarov's most famous work is the novel "Gumlular", written in 1970 and translated into many languages. With this novel, Hudaynazarov showed that he was also a master of writing. The novel is a historical novel about the difficulties experienced by the nomads living in the Karakum Desert during the Second World War. "Gumlular" novel is also an autobiographical novel as it is parallel to Khudaynazarov's life story. Because Hudaynazarov is the son of a shepherd from Yerbent in the centre of Karakum, and during the war his family was displaced to Lebap on the banks of the Amuderya River. Since Berdinazar Khudaynazarov's childhood and youth spent in Karakum, he usually describes the life of nomads living in the desert in his works. As a matter of fact, in his other novels and stories such as the novel "Gumlular", in his first poetry book "Gızgın Sahra" and other poems, in his conversation writings, desert life is always discussed. In this article, after giving information about the life, works and literary personality of the 20th century Turkmen literary figure Berdinazar Hudaynazarov, the novel "Gumlular", which is considered one of the important works of Turkmen literature, will be analysed in terms of war and women themes.
