The feasibility of Rutherfordium IP measurements with the electron-impact source VADIS has been studied theoretically by estimation of adsorption properties and first experiments of ion source efficiency in function of mean electron energy. • IPs of noble gases could be derived within an error of 0.1 V following an extrapolation method. • Adsorption properties suggest, that temperatures above nominal conditions are necessary. • Further R&D is needed, which might include the partial redesign of the source., Poster presented at the 6th International Conference on the Chemistry and Physics of the Transactinide Elements (TAN 19)

Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(ISAS)), Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan, 航空宇宙分野で推進剤として使用される液体水素は，配管内で気液二相流へと遷移し流動制御が困難になる．そこで，気液二相流高精度制御手法の確立を目的として，制御に必要なパラメータで気液比を示すボイド率の数値波形から各相の流量といった物理量を予測する深層学習モデルを構築し，マルチメータの原理検証を試みた．実験で設定したカテゴリを出力する多クラス分類器と流量を連続値として出力可能な回帰器を新たに構築し，流動試験によりモデル性能の検証を実施した結果，出力結果について分類器と回帰器で同様の傾向が示唆された．また，液相流量が時間変化する環境下で取得したデータを用いた予測を試みたところ，液相流量の変化に正しく追従している様子を確認した．, 資料番号: SA6000184024, STCP-2022-024

Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(ISAS)), Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan, ISAS/JAXA has been conducting research and development of a reusable sounding rocket equipped with ATRIUM engine, which combines an air-turbo engine and a rocket engine. An air inlet for the vehicle is streamline-traced Busemann inlet. It has notched cowls, but one of them will be blocked by the vehicle surface. The wind tunnel experiment showed that blockage of the cowl notch caused a 2–4 % reduction in performance such as mass capture ratio (MCR) and total pressure recovery (TPR) of the inlet. In any case, the inlet was not in a perfect starting condition because a shock wave and boundary layer separation occurred near the entrance of it regardless of the amount of back pressure. Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(ISAS)), Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan, 大学と宇宙航空研究開発機構が共同で開発している予冷ターボジェットエンジンでは空気予冷器の伝熱面表面への着霜が問題となっている．特に冷却面温度が-80℃以下の極低温域の着霜現象では，冷却面近傍でミスト微小な氷粒子が発生し，冷却面の前縁と後縁で別々に霜層が形成される現象が起こる．本研究では，極低温冷却面前縁後縁での霜結晶構造の違いを調査するために，着霜実験を実施し，霜結晶構造を観察した．平板冷却面温度を-25，-75，-125，-170℃の4 通りとし各冷却面温度での霜結晶画像の比較を行った．その結果，-170℃の前縁において，中低温域と同じような針状結晶が成長し，昇華凝結による着霜が起こる様子がみられた一方，-170℃の後縁では，中低温域では見られないような雲粒付結晶が成長しミストの沈着による着霜が起こる様子がみられた．, 資料番号: SA6000184023, STCP-2022-023

We propose a formal language for describing and explaining statistical causality. Concretely, we define Statistical Causality Language (StaCL) for expressing causal effects and specifying the requirements for causal inference. StaCL incorporates modal operators for interventions to express causal properties between probability distributions in different possible worlds in a Kripke model. We formalize axioms for probability distributions, interventions, and causal predicates using StaCL formulas. These axioms are expressive enough to derive the rules of Pearl's do-calculus. Finally, we demonstrate by examples that StaCL can be used to specify and explain the correctness of statistical causal inference.

We propose a new approach to formally describing the requirement for statistical inference and checking whether a program uses the statistical method appropriately. Specifically, we define belief Hoare logic (BHL) for formalizing and reasoning about the statistical beliefs acquired via hypothesis testing. This program logic is sound and relatively complete with respect to a Kripke model for hypothesis tests. We demonstrate by examples that BHL is useful for reasoning about practical issues in hypothesis testing. In our framework, we clarify the importance of prior beliefs in acquiring statistical beliefs through hypothesis testing, and discuss the whole picture of the justification of statistical inference inside and outside the program logic.

Several relational program logics have been introduced for integrating reasoning about relational properties of programs and measurement of quantitative difference between computational effects. Towards a general framework for such logics, in this paper, we formalize quantitative difference between computational effects as divergence on monad, then develop a relational program logic acRL that supports generic computational effects and divergences on them. To give a categorical semantics of acRL supporting divergences, we give a method to obtain graded strong relational liftings from divergences on monads. We derive two instantiations of acRL for the verification of 1) various differential privacy of higher-order functional probabilistic programs and 2) difference of distribution of costs between higher-order functional programs with probabilistic choice and cost counting operations., Preprint

In the design of deuteron accelerator neutron sources, accurate nuclear data of deuteron-induced reactions are necessarily important over a wide range of incident deuteron energy from a few MeV to around 50 MeV for light nuclides, such as C and Be. Currently, however, available experimental data of double-differential thick target neutron yields (DDTTNYs) are especially insufficient. In this study, to investigate systematics of DEURACS, a theoretical model of deuteron induced reaction, we have been measured the DDTTNYs of (d,n) reactions on natC target for incident deuteron energy at 12, 20 and 30 MeV by means of the multiple-foils activation method. The neutrons were detected at emission angles of 0⁰, 10⁰, 20⁰, 30⁰ and 45⁰. In unfolding process, we applied the GRAVEL code. The results were compared with DEURACS and showed that it can reproduce also angular distributions up to 45⁰. We found DEURACS can be used for interpolation of the lacked experimental DDTTNY in the deuteron energy range from 12 to 30 MeV for 0-45⁰ of neutron emission angles.

Differential privacy is a de facto standard in data privacy, with applicationsin the public and private sectors. One way of explaining differential privacy,which is particularly appealing to statistician and social scientists, is bymeans of its statistical hypothesis testing interpretation. Informally, onecannot effectively test whether a specific individual has contributed her databy observing the output of a private mechanism—any test cannot have bothhigh significance and high power.In this paper, we identify some conditions under which a privacy definition given in terms of a statistical divergence satisfies a similar interpretation.These conditions are useful to analyze the distinguishing power of divergencesand we use them to study the hypothesis testing interpretation of somerelaxations of differential privacy based on Renyi divergence. Ouranalysis also results in an improved conversion rule between these definitionsand differential privacy.

Deductive verification techniques based on program logics (i.e., the family of Floyd-Hoare logics) are a powerful approach for program reasoning. Recently, there has been a trend of increasing the expressive power of such logics by augmenting their rules with additional information to reason about program side-effects. For example, general program logics have been augmented with cost analyses, logics for probabilistic computations have been augmented with estimate measures, and logics for differential privacy with indistinguishability bounds. In this work, we unify these various approaches via the paradigm of grading,\ud adapted from the world of functional calculi and semantics. We propose Graded Hoare Logic (GHL), a parameterisable framework for augmenting program logics with a preordered monoidal analysis. We develop a\ud semantic framework for modelling GHL such that grading, logical assertions (pre- and post-conditions) and the underlying effectful semantics of an imperative language can be integrated together. Central to our\ud framework is the notion of a graded category which we extend here, introducing graded Freyd categories which provide a semantics that can interpret many examples of augmented program logics from the literature.\ud We leverage coherent fibrations to model the base assertion language, and thus the overall setting is also fibrational.
