Abstract: Two isostructural 3D coordination polymers (CPs) {[M(L242)2](ClO4)2} n (MII=CdII for 1 and ZnII for 2) have been constructed from metal perchlorates and a tripyridyltriazole ligand 4-(4-pyridyl)-3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole (L242). The host framework of each CP comprises two interpenetrating lvt topological networks. Three types of 1D channels with different chirality (achirality and left-handed or right-handed helicity) are observed to hold the perchlorate guest anions. Interestingly, both CPs materials have the exclusive and irreversible anion-exchange behaviors for acetate (OAc−), which however, are unavailable to chloride (Cl−), fluoroborate (BF4 −), or nitrate (NO3 −) anion. Abstract: To investigate the effect of positional isomerism of ligands on the construction of coordination polymers, three Cd(II) complexes with tripyridyltriazole tectons and thiocyanate anions have been prepared and characterized, namely, [Cd(L 4 )(μ-SCN)(SCN)] n (1), [Cd(L 5 )(SCN)2] n (2), and [Cd(L 6 )(μ-SCN)2] n (3) (L 4 =3,4-bis(2-pyridyl)-5-(3-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole, L 5 =3-(2-pyridyl)-4,5-bis(3-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole, and L 6 =3-(2-pyridyl)-4-(4-pyridyl)-5-(3-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole. Crystal structure analysis indicates that the isomeric effect of ligands plays a crucial role in regulating the distinct 1D coordination patterns for 1–3, with the aid of the versatility of thiocyanate anion. Abstract: Syntheses and characterization of two pairs of Cu(II) and Cd(II) coordination polymers with di-3-pyridinylmethanone revealed that variation the counter anion from to does not change the structures of Cu(II) complexes, but it lowers the dimensionality of the Cd(II) framework. A new 3D luminescence metal–organic framework with open channels was constructed by the assembling of the zwitterionic H 3 L Cl ligand and Zn(II) ions under solvothermal conditions. The compound exhibits relatively high luminescence selective sensing for Fe 3 + ions with surprisingly excellent recyclability, making it a promising candidate for sensing metal ions in practical. Abstract: A new hybrid compound based on porous metal–organic frameworks and polyoxometalates H4[(Cu4Cl)3(BTC)8]2[SiW12O40]·(C4H12N)6·3H2O (NENU-15, BTC=1, 3, 5-benzenetricarboxylate) has been hydrothermally synthesized and its crystal structure, stability and porosity have been characterized. The experimental results showed that the introduction of polyoxometalates improved the integral stability of the compound. In addition, NENU-15 was employed in NO removal for the first time. By virtue of the synergistic effect between host frameworks and guest polyoxometalates, it not only displayed good adsorption behavior for NO, but also exhibited superior activity in NO decomposition. Abstract: Under hydrothermal conditions, using 5-methyl-pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid (HL) and lead(II) chloride, a new 2D lead(II) framework [Pb(L)(μ2-Cl)(H2O)] n can be isolated, in which infinite Pb–O–Pb helical chains can be observed. Interestingly 1 stacks in ABAB… ways, in one layer right-handed Pb–O–Pb and left-handed Pb–Cl–Pb helical chains are inter-connected while the opposite chiral Pb–O–Pb and Pb–Cl–Pb helical chains are included in the neighboring layer. Solid state luminescent spectrum of 1 also has been investigated indicating strong emission bands centered at 452nm. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Under hydrothermal conditions using a triazole derivative ligand 3-carboxylic acid-4H-1,2,4-triazole (HL) and corresponding lead(II) salts, a novel two-dimensional(2D) lead(II) complex {[Pb(L)(μ2-Cl)(H2O)} n (1) has been isolated. In 1 Pb2Cl2(H2O)2 building blocks can be observed, which are extended by tetra-dentate coordinated L ligands to form a 2D corrugated layered structure. 1 also represents a novel example of luminescent lead(II) frameworks with triazole derivatives. Solid-state fluorescence spectrum of 1 exhibits the excited peak at 376nm while the emission peak at 604nm. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The two Cd(II) and Co(II) 2-D frameworks have been prepared by means of self-assemblies of Cd(II) or Co(II) salts and 1-substituted imidazole and terephthalic acid, and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction analyses. In complex 1 2-D frameworks with rhombic cavity are formed, in which the each top point of rhombus contains one hexa and two heptacoordinated Cd(II). In complex 2 2-D networks with rectangular cavities are formed, and the opposite benzene rings from carboxyls in each rectangular cavity are parallel. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

The interaction of PdCl2(PhCN)2 with 1,2-[PhP(H)CH2CH2CH2P(Ph)CH2]2C6H4, generated in situ from the reduction of the corresponding phosphine oxide with LiAlH4 in the presence of Me3SiCl, gave a complex mixture, from which a di- and a tetra-nuclear palladium complex 1 and 2 whose solid state structures were ascertained by X-ray crystallography, were isolated.
