FAKE news , *SOCIAL networks , *MISINFORMATION , *INTERNET - Abstract
Deliberative democratic processes are threatened by the intentional large-scale misinformation that is spread through the internet and the social networks, which have significantly increased the risk of the electoral manipulation of public opinion. Any good specialist can manage at present the emotions of millions of people to place them at the service of their own interests. Member states of the European Union are organised and collaborate in order to fight against this type of misinformation. This paper analyses how far law can and must react to fake news, evaluating the scope, the nature, the content and protected legal asset of "the right not to be deceived". [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

After some hints, also of a methodological nature, on the evolutionary problems of regionalism in the first post-war republican period, the article analyzes some of the problems of the distribution of powers in the light of the twenty years following the constitutional reforms of Title V. This analysis will also be made in a comparative perspective with the homologous forms of territorial decentralization of the powers that can be observed in the European states with a regional and federal form. In conclusion, the paper will question the new relationships created between regional political autonomy, the impact of the economic crisis, European integration, and issues of the effectiveness of rights, above all (social but not only). - Abstract
The global health emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has also influenced the linguistic-communicative level, both with respect to the language of the media and in terms of the strategies and choices adopted by decision-makers, governments, health authorities, etc., to address the population with information about regulations aimed at behaviors to deal with the moment of danger. In this article, we continue along the line of our previous paper (see Matticchio, Melchior 2021), in which we briefly analysed the information in Italian published on the official websites of the bilingual institutions of the Istrian Region. After a first introduction to the official bilingualim in the Istrian county, we will focus on the Italian of the pandemic by analysing possible divergent (lexical) choices in the Italian of Istria, trying, as far as possible, to understand whether they are due to the influence of Croatian or to other reasons. - Abstract
In researching the relationship between identity and language, the term 'Romanianness' describes a trend in thinking which is specific to socio-human studies and favours the comparative approach 'us' / 'them', or 'us then' / 'us now', through which identity features can be seen to change in time and space. The paper aims to discuss the linguistic dimension of Romanianness, reporting on the way in which 'language' is represented today as an element of the identity construct here called Romanianness, as compared to the initial moment of establishing the Romanian language as a national language, in the 19th century. From one historical phase to another, the Romanian state continued its centralist policies, including language related policies. What was motivated in Romania in 1859 by special historical circumstances, namely the need to quickly establish a strong and homogeneous state, with a view to gaining the allegiance of its new citizens, continued towards centralizing cultural and linguistic policies during the Communist dictatorship, and persisted even after its fall. In the period 1990-2020, in the Romanian identity landscape we witnessed the centrality of the Romanian language in the linguistic repertoire of its citizens, to the detriment of the stimulation of dialects or languages of national minorities. Over time, there has been a slight increase in ethno nationalism, as a result of the intensification of the dominant and homogenizing position of the Romanian language, as well as insufficient implementation of school multilingualism, in regions where national minorities live. With Romania's access to the European Union, multilingualism policies have not produced positive changes relevant to the 14 minority languages, while the relation of the majority of citizens to the national linguistic repertoire and to Romanianness in general preserves almost unchaged the elements of the famous Herderian triad: 'Ein Volk, ein Land, eine Sprache'. - Abstract
After an editorial note, the critical literature addressing the problems of the training analysis system is reviewed, followed by an overview of recent conflicts within the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA) provoked by efforts to reform or abolish it. Among the critical issues addressed in this review are conflicts about the long-standing requirement that training analysts be certified by the Board of Professional Standards (BoPS), a major conflict between BoPS and APsaA's Board of Directors that gave rise to a major lawsuit, the "six-point plan" advanced by the Board of Directors, a survey of APsaA members designed to assess members attitude toward the training analysis system, and three proposals to reform the Standards Document of APsaA's Institute Requirements and Review Committee (IRRC). These proposals, reproduced in this paper, include the so-called "PPP proposal" (shorthand for the names of its three authors, Fredric T. Perlman, Warren R. Procci, and Robert L. Pyles), the proposal of Mark F. Poster and Michael Robbins, and the proposal of Luba Kessler, Kerry Kelly Novick, and Lance M. Dodes. All three proposals cite the need for democratic governance within APsaA and its approved institutes. The last portion of this document features comments offered by important participants in this history of debate, including Richard Almond, Emanuel Berman, Lance M. Dodes, Ralph E. Fishkin, Henry J. Friedman, Robert M. Galatzer-Levy, Jane S. Hall, Otto F. Kernberg, Luba Kessler, Douglas Kirsner, Henry Zvi Lothane, Paul W. Mosher, Kerry Kelly Novick, Frederic T. Perlman, Mark F. Poster, Warren R. Among the linguistic societies of the XXth century, Giacomo Devoto’s Circolo Linguistico Fiorentino represents one of the most longeval, rich, and peculiar institutions of its kind. Based on the fundamental values of dialogue, mutual tolerance, and cultural liberalism, from 1945 onwards it would have gathered national and international scholars between the most influential of their time, pursuing its activities up to the present day. This paper aims to reconstruct the history of this institution, tracing it back from the original idea proposed by Carlo Alberto Mastrelli, and to analyze its fundamental dynamics and cultural heritage, considering oral testimonies and unpublished documents1 from a particular session held by Tullio De Mauro in 1963. LINGUISTIC analysis , *INFORMATION organization , *TWENTIETH century , *INFORMATION technology , *LINGUISTICS , *MEDIATION - Abstract
This paper presents a synthesis of the most significant paths and problems of research in Italy, in the second half of the twentieth Century, seen through an autobiographical testimony. We speak of internal changes, due to the evolution of methodologies: the renewal of tools and methods, after the autarchic parenthesis of the first half of the Century; the intrusion of information technology into the organization and analysis of linguistic data; the openness to the problems of a rapidly changing society, with the sociolinguistic approach; the contrasts and mediations between structuralism and historicism. But we also speak, at the same time, of the brakes and conditioning to research by external factors, mainly attributable to a strong management of power and the consequent downsizing of the role of free research, accompanied by the deleterious subordination of research to logic of the market. Finally, the autobiographical perspective highlights the central role of Tullio De Mauro in the renewal of linguistics studies in Italy and in the stubborn persistence of a democratic and inclusive vision even in times of democratic crisis. INDO-European languages , *HISTORICAL linguistics , *LINGUISTIC change , *TWENTIETH century - Abstract
This paper presents an overall picture of the linguistic studies carried out at the Istituto di Glottologia of the University of Pisa, from the middle of the 20th century to the present day. Tristano Bolelli is regarded as the leading figure of the Pisan studies. He worked from an early age to develop linguistic research at the University of Pisa with an original and broad vision, and an eye toward the future. Bolelli taught three generations of linguists in Pisa, whose profiles are synthetically drawn here with reference to their main research areas. Over time, the Pisan linguistic studies have shown both continuity in the study of historical change in Indo-European languages together with the deepening of topics connected to the different theoretical frameworks which have recently emerged. Those who trained in Pisa, and have subsequently become University Professors, adopted Bolelli’s scientific approach, characterised by a great meth- odological rigour, a true hallmark of the Pisan linguistic studies. Additionally, the breadth of the Pisan scholars’ research fields clearly demonstrates the other distinctive feature of Linguistics in Pisa: great freedom in making choices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims at describing the magisterium and the scientific legacy of Walter Belardi (1923-2008), professor of historical linguistics at Napoli-Orientale first (since 1956) and then at Roma Sapienza (1964-1998). After recalling the scientific relationship between Belardi and his teacher Antonino Pagliaro (1898-1973), the article focuses on Belardi’s research trajectories, from Indo-European to Iranistics, from general linguistics to classical and romance studies. The article reviews the profiles of Belardi’s many pupils across essentially three generations of professors, all of whom focused on themes inherited from their master. These were explored primarily in light of the common philological-textual approach that is typical, more generally, of the so-called “Roman school of linguistics”. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper is divided into three sections and intends to study Nédoncelle's interpretation of Rosmini. (1) In the first part, the essay outlines some essential lines of Nédoncelle's intellectual path. (2) In the second part, it highlights the most significant aspects of Nédoncelle's Rosminian reading (in particular: the distinction between person and I; the crossing of the self-oblivion as the key to the conscious event). - Abstract
This paper focuses on the meaning of the term adelphos in the New Testament. After some brief considerations on the Hellenistic papyri, the Septuagint and the Qumran literature, in which the proper and metaphorical value of the term is highlighted, an analysis of the Gospel of Matthew will be carried out, showing how adelphos substantially denotes the community member. In particular, it is the Risen One himself who calls his disciples «brothers» (Matthew 28,10), showing how a new relationship between members of the community is established from the victory over death. A second path enhances the title of «firstborn», which refers to the believers who received the filial adoption through the Spirit (Romans 8,29), but it is also linked to the dead (Colossians 1,18; Revelation 1,5), that is to say, all human beings sharing a common destiny; these same mortal human beings are considered as «brothers» (Hebrews 2,11) by the One who shared their extreme limit but freed them from death by virtue of his resurrection. - Abstract
This paper collects the speeches made at the traditional event of the «Thursday after Ash Wednesday», to which the academic community invites the presbyters and deacons of the Region, in order to prepare the Easter proclamation together. In the 2021 edition, the event took inspiration from a statement contained in the Christus vivit: «Once the Church […] listens carefully to the young, this empathy enriches her, for it allows young people to make their own contribution to the community, helping it to appreciate new sensitivities and to consider new questions» (n. 65). Young people were, therefore, attentively listened: which aspects of the Paschal Mistery of Christ are significant for them in their lives? What does the Church have to take into account, in the eyes of the young, in order to pass on the faith in the Risen Crucified Christ to their peers? [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Does the recent Pope Francis’ encyclical, Fratelli tutti, really introduce ex novo the theme of universal fraternity in the Catholic magisterium? Starting from an examination of the magisterial texts mentioned by the encyclical, the author of this paper intends to demonstrate, on the one hand, the rooting of Pope Francis’ document in the conciliar and post-conciliar magisterium and, on the other hand, aims to highlight the «syntax» that the Gaudium et spes employs when presenting the theme of universal fraternity: an integral vocation of the human being, redeemed by Christ, of which the Church is a sacrament, destined to be definitively fulfilled in the eschaton. Hereby, the pastoral Constitution of the Second Vatican Council points, in a constitutive fashion, the way that the Church has to follow in its relation to the world. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper is dedicated to recent events in the Catholic Church in Australia. A special attention is given to Australian State legislation which requires priests to report any suspected sexual abuse of minors, even if based on information gathered during the celebration of the sacrament of penance. The issue constitutes a recent attack on libertas Ecclesiae, but above all on the religious liberty of the individual, ignoring the peculiar nature of the sacrament of confession as a relationship between God and the penitent, the priest confessor taking the role of a mere mediator. - Abstract
At this point in time, neurosciences are dealing with some of the problems that also pertain to philosophical and theological anthropology. This paper highlights two crucial topics where the overlap among disciplines is solid enough to allow for a comparative approach, and focuses in particular on those that cause a rethinking of human freedom. The role of emotions in moral judgment and the implicit processes that generate our stories become an opportunity to restore depth to the experience of freedom, which must be accompanied by rigorous attention to its unconscious side. Human flourishing, but also the shape of our communities, depend on this. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The paper inquires the deep reasons of the dialogue between theology and natural sciences. At present theology cannot limit itself to avoiding the clash with scientific theories or to apologetically use scientific knowledge to confirm its arguments. The natural sciences - if we take the language of Melchior Cano - are one of the loci theologici; the theologian has the duty to appeal to the results of science, as John Paul II wrote on p. Coyne. The profound reason for this duty is identified in the impossibility of a divergence between faith and reason: both the light of faith and that of reason that investigates reality in a scientific way are from God and the truth cannot contradict the truth (cf. Vatican I, Dei Filius). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
In this paper we return to the question of the use of te, the Italian personal pronoun, as subject instead of complement. According to scientific literature, the diffusion of te in substitution of tu as the subject of the clause is attributed to the spoken variety of language. We aim at verifying this hypothesis and to further document the use of te as subject using existing corpora of both written and spoken language. The research considers old and new issues (for example the diffusion of the coordinative phrase io e te instead of io e tu, on which see Blasco Ferrer, 1992) and intends to represent the phenomenon in quantitative and qualitative terms. In the conclusions it is stated that the phenomenon, even better represented in the spoken versus the written, seems diachronically stable, and sensitive to diatopic factors. The most significant results of the current research consist in having evaluated the presence of the phenomenon separately in the different constructs in which it occurs, and in having identified other contexts of attestation. Epidemics and pandemics plagued the human existence for centuries; then, as now, the first reaction is to pray. In some Christian denominations the prayer was addressed to the saints; even today the most invoked saints are St. Rita, St. Rocco, and St. Sebastian. The Covid-19 pandemic remember us that we still have to face these types of calamities. What is the best way to communicate such a shocking event? Media and social media catch people's attention. In Italy there are different points of view about this unknown disease and the vaccine effectiveness. This is a critical situation and people are called to take a stand. Who to believe? To the saints or to the healthcare workers, the new "heroes" of Covid19 pandemic? This paper debates what health communication methods have been used since 2020 and which one should be consider the best choice. This was done by analysing data, as number of followers, of some of the physicians and communicators who have spoken about Covid-19. In the past, during epidemic and pandemic situations, people entrusted saints. Nowadays people could choose from the pantheon of these divine and deified professionals, preferring those who are more reassuring. The user needs a communicative style with which he feels informed, reassured, but at the same time listened to, understood, and not judged, just as if he were protected by a saint. The essay examines Rebibbia Quarantine, a series of animated shorts released by renowned Italian comic artist Zerocalcare (Michele Rech) both on his social network channels and via television broadcast in the Spring of 2020. The series chronicles the consequences of the lockdown on the author himself and the people of his neighborhood, Rebibbia (a suburban district of Rome). While these shorts are comedic in tone, I argue they can actually be considered as an example of 'graphic journalism', albeit combined with a semi-autobiographical, diaristic narrative. This paper engages in a close reading of Zerocalcare's pandemicrelated shorts, exploring their peculiarities as regards to content, style and format, and underlining their importance in the Italian media covering of the Covid-19 crisis. - Abstract
In this paper the author attempts a reinterpretation of Fairbairn's essay by narrating some passages from a child's analysis. Internalized bad objects exist in everyone's psyche, but at varying degrees. Some of the fundamental factors that will define the vicissitudes of these objects within the psychic apparatus are the degree of badness with which they are characterized, the nature with which the Ego identifies with such objects, and the strength of the defenses that protect the Ego from such objects. The clinical material presented demonstrates how, when the inner world is populated with "devils", perceived as bad objects re-eased into the unconscious, they can be so terrifying that they cannot be dealt with, and that only through analysis can we hope to find ways of possible psychic elaboration. WOMEN'S sexual behavior , *CHILDBIRTH , *PERINATAL period , *THIRD trimester of pregnancy , *MEDICAL personnel , *COUPLES - Abstract
The present paper aims to offer a general picture of sexuality during the perinatal period (from gestation to the first years of the child's life). The physical and psychological changes associated with pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum can influence both the woman's sex life and the couple's sexual health. It is essential to investigate these topics that are often overlooked, considered separately and still surrounded by too many taboos and prejudices. This article reviews existing studies dealing with these topics to offer a general overview and to deepen and discuss their limits for wider considerations. The literature highlights a decline in sexual functions during pregnancy, which then continues to experience in the postpartum period. Most of the studies address the issue of sexuality in pregnancy by examining above all the female experience and highlighting the physical, hormonal and psychological differences during the three trimesters of pregnancy (endogestation) but unfortunately no research deals with the analysis of the post-partum (exogestation). Furthermore, the analysis of the experience of the male partner is almost completely omitted both during pregnancy and during postpartum. The sexuality between the two partners, which in this period undergoes a reduction or even an interruption, is the main theme of this study. There are still too many specialists who recommend abstinence in pregnancy, in any case, without this being supported by scientific evidence. This generates an atmosphere of unfounded fears and anxieties, which undermine the unity of the couple, in a such delicate and special moment, in which a healthy sexual activity would be the cornerstone for maintaining a good relationship in the couple and to prevent and protect the future of the family. It is therefore essential that couples are accompanied by professionals prepared to answer their questions related to sexuality, in order to clarify, without taboos, the many perplexities on an such intimate and complex issue. It is essential to consider the modality of sexual intercourse of each specific couple before pregnancy, in order to be able to speak of decline, normality or pathology in postpartum. It is essential to encourage open and sincere communication between partners, rather than dictating general rules, based on false myths, which influence the frequency, spontaneity or even block sexuality during pregnancy and puerperium. In order to generate by default the natural rapprochement between the two partners, it is necessary to involve the father by structuring the birth accompaniment courses for couple, so that not only the psychological experiences of the mother are explained, but also those of the future father. Giving proper attention to both would represent a revolution that would help to prevent serious problems such as postpartum depression or the increase in divorces (a phenomenon most frequently encountered within the first three years of the child's birth). This contribution also wants to make clear the similarity between the sexual act and the childbirth, which are events influenced by the same identical hormones (oxytocin, endorphins, adrenaline, etc.), which are very sensitive to the context and the environment. In fact the more or less pleasant outcome of the sexual encounter or of the experience of childbirth derives from the hormonal combination. An unprocessed traumatic birth brings with it negative consequences on sexual intercourse in the postpartum. This is why adequate pre-birth training, combined with post-partum sexual counseling, are essential for the support of the two partners, so that they do not feel abandoned to themselves and lacking in communication tools. In conclusion, these are the services that should therefore be increased to resolve the current situation, which is contaminated by misinformation and false myths: refresher courses for health professionals, so that taboos of medical staff are broken; birth accompaniment courses for couples, to ensure that the mother feels supported, the father is informed and prepared and that effective communication develops between the two before the birth of the child; post-partum sexual counseling for couples who have difficulty resuming sexual understanding. Birth is a crucial moment for the development of the ability to love, so the commitment and willingness to know everything around it represents a fundamental help both for couples and for future generations. Aim of the paper is studying which generativity could characterize the relationship between senior and junior workers during the organizational socialization of the newcomers. The theoretical framework of the study refers to the concept of generativity, as defined by Bradley and Marcia (1998) and Cigoli and Scabini (2006). A qualitative research conducted through narrative interviews to 24 senior and 24 junior workers is presented. Narratives show different typologies of relationship, characterized by different degrees and forms of generativity. Results allow to discuss how a more or less generative relation could be related to organizational socialization, and which contribution can be provided by senior workers to the organizational socialization of the newcomers. FEMINIST theology , *INVISIBILITY , *THEOLOGY , *FEMINISTS - Abstract
The paper offers a picture of feminist theology from the perspective of its transmissibility, both in the context of mainstream theological knowledge and in the agora of the new generations. The persistent invisibility of these studies, now extremely vast, leads to investigate the mechanisms of the transmission of knowledge in the sacral context and the resistances encountered there. Although aimed at offering useful ideas for discussion rather than exhaustive data, the contribution cannot exempt itself from a synthetic reconstruction of the historical and geo-ecclesiastical contexts in which the TF (s) develop, the categories from which they are processed and the main acquisitions in the field biblical, historical and dogmatic. The conclusion highlights some issues (comparison with colleagues, relationship between academic contexts and practices, postfeminist inclusiveness as an advantage and as a risk), but also expresses the belief that the feminist theological approach is an important resource for the theology. - Abstract
In the last years, the dimensional classification of Personality Disorders and the development of manualized treatments have contributed to a new conceptualization of these disorders. Therefore, it is necessary to implement of evidence-based clinical treatments and good practices, through the application of international guidelines for the treatment of personality disorders. The aim of this paper is to analyse the main guidelines from recent literature regarding the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), to identify which are the recommended treatments with greater efficacy. For this reason, two of the most authoritative contributes to international guidelines were examined: National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Furthermore, given the need to provide updated scientific evidence, in addition to the guidelines, recent reviews and meta-analyses on the treatment of disorders in question were considered. In the last part of this work, the attention was placed on the current diagnostic classification of personality disorders, which aims at the functioning and personality traits rather than the nosographic diagnosis only, with a specific focus on Borderline Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder. In conclusion, literature seems to suggest the clinician a greater attention to the dimensional aspect of personality disorders within the psychotherapeutic intervention because it allows the use of specific traits and domains for setting up a more targeted intervention. AUTOMOBILE sales & prices , *URBAN pollution , *AUTOMOBILES , *AIR pollution , *CITIES & towns , *DIFFUSION of innovations , *ELECTRIC automobiles - Abstract
Research on electric cars, whose first exemplars were built at the end of the 19th century, has never completely ceased during the last century, and it received a significant boost since the early '80s, when electric car was seen as a means to mitigate the problem of air pollution in urban areas. However the growth rate over time of the proportion of sales of electric cars to the total volume of car sales in Europe still remains very low. Thus the question arises whether the electric car will continue to play a marginal role in the car market, or whether the data collected so far belong to the first stretch of the S shaped curve of the diffusion of innovations, and they will then be followed by a leap in the proportion of sales. In order to answer this question, this paper presents a dynamic model of competition between two types of cars, one traditional and the other innovative, which has been applied to the study of the evolution over time of the proportion of sales of electric cars in Europe, using the data collected between 2011 and 2019. The study has shown that these data belong to an evolution process that has the S shape of the diffusion of innovations. Thus, if the characteristics of the process will remain unchanged in the next future, it is to be expected that the data collected so far will be followed by a leap in the proportion of sales, and electric car will tend to take a remarkable position in the car market. The widespread use of social media in people's everyday life has set the basis for big changes in the relationships between individuals, public and private bodies on a global scale. With public administrations willing to adjust their identities to new tools for communication, archival organizations approached to social networks to connect with new users and enhance their heritage. This paper aims to define methods, specificities and limits of the Italian archival institutions' social media policies, opening up to a first comparison with other national strategies, especially with the French one. A special focus has been put on the role of social networks in March and April 2020, when Italian archives faced a two-month lockdown following the health emergency caused by the spread of COVID-19: moved away from the ordinary work, archivists and archival institutes were encouraged to start alternative forms of communication with their users, including a more effective social campaign. REDUCING diets , *NUTRITION , *GASTRONOMY , *FOOD habits , *SOCIAL influence - Abstract
This paper addresses the question of the relationship between the diaita, that is, the psychophysical conditions related to nutrition, and the political regime that it generates in Plato's philosophy. It will be argued that the reasons that stimulate Plato's critique to the dietary nomos, that emerge in the V-IV BC centuries following the development of the culinary technique, are especially political reasons. Our purpose is to find the relationship between a food habit and a government's pattern. In order to attain the aim, the article is divided into the following parts: First, we argue about Plato's interest in foods and the effects that food has on individual and on political health; Then we examine the Plato's judgment about the new habits and their social influences; Finally, we analyse the relationship between diaita and politics in the Republic and Laws. - Abstract
This paper suggests the importance of reading Pope Francis’s Laudato si’: on the care of the common home as an overall and organic, a polyphonic and wisdom text; an invitation to see the true consequences of an ecological conversion in every life context as well as in every intellectual research. The criticism to the current development model is expressed among other things with a necessary reference to shared collective goals which must be considered before researching the means to obtain them and before considering the highly distorting effects of an economic activity following the profit maximization principle as the only parameter for the choice and evaluation of an economic action. SOCIAL role , *CULTURAL maintenance , *SOCIAL skills , *CULTURAL property , *LIBRARY administration , *LIBRARIANS - Abstract
The paper traces some professional choices that guided the management of Italian libraries over the last fifty years, focusing on the interpretation of their cultural role, also in relation to the progressive spreading of digital culture. Libraries, regardless of their functional typology, remain a constitutive part of Italy’s cultural heritage: it is therefore essential to find a synthesis between their nature of ‘cultural heritage’, their information function and their social function. In light of this common ground, it is therefore important to find a synthesis between libraries’ informative and social function. Today, libraries are in the most favorable position to weave relationships between people and institutions. Librarians can identify in this current context fertile ground to redefine their profession and place themselves at the service of an Italian civil and cultural revitalization. It is a question of giving libraries – intended as places of inclusiveness and gathering – a greater baggage of knowledge and culture to perform their widely recognized social role. By expanding their range of action, libraries remain social, cultural and information hubs capable of carrying out a renewed connective and participatory function. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper reflects on the future of libraries, moving from Disegnare il futuro della biblioteca: linee guida per la redazione dei piani strategici per le biblioteche pubbliche (i.e. Drawing library futures: guidelines for strategic planning in public libraries), the document issued in autumn 2020 by the National Commission for Public Libraries of the Italian Library Association. The pandemic crisis accelerated a series of social, economic and cultural phenomena; on the one hand, this highlighted the capacity of adaptability and response demonstrated by the cultural sector, most of all its ability to face the digital demand and other emerging needs; on the other hand, though, the situation highlighted the gaps and inefficiency of short-term approaches and visions, and revealed the infrastructural weakness, a certain fragility in the organizations and a lack of those skills needed to face the change. In this historical moment, strategic planning can represent an important advocacy opportunity for public libraries, as emerging goals are being agreed upon with stakeholders and in economic, human and planning resources are being negotiated with funders and policy makers. In this sense, the document can become the perfect tool at the right time, capable of fostering the overall growth of political awareness of the role that libraries can and must play in the new scenario; moreover, it also represents a compass to identify the necessary programmatic, technical, administrative, economic, organizational and cultural connections, which are prerequisites to start the transformation. The paper deals with two closely related issues: the legal deposit of cartographic materials in Italy and their census by the Bollettino delle pubblicazioni italiane ricevute per diritto di stampa (1886-1957) and the Bibliografia nazionale italiana (BNI, 1958). Although cartographic materials represent a heritage of extraordinary historical, artistic and cultural value, they have long been neglected by legal deposit regulations, and their census by the Bollettino and Bibliografia nazionale italiana was irregular for a long time, until it was completely abandoned in the 1960s. Moreover, only maps and atlases were required to be deposited and surveyed, while other types of cartographic resources such as globes, three-dimensional models and digital maps were never taken into account. The world of publishing distribution has increasingly become an object of interest for both industrial production and the readers. The recent past showed that books must be selected carefully not only by bookshop managers for their buyers, but also by libraries for their users. Libraries themselves are examined in their relation with publishing distribution: the paper presents an initial analysis of the process enacted to pursue the goal that each individual title may fruitfully contribute to the growth of the whole library collection. The research considers only the acquisition of print monographs from some of the most important suppliers of both public and academic libraries; with these vendors it was possible to entertain a crucial and essential direct discussion. The paper proposes some considerations related to the contents of Chiara Faggiolani’s book Come un ministro per la cultura: Giulio Einaudi e le biblioteche nel sistema del libro (2020), dedicated to Giulio Einaudi’s intellectual and editorial personality, and focusing on the relationship between the ‘Dogliani project’ and the different environments of the Italian ‘book system’ of the early 1960s. The project, accomplished with the inauguration of the Luigi Einaudi Library in 1963, highlights the attempt to organically integrate architectural space, library collections and service management. What triggered this integration was Giulio Einaudi’s vision, shaped by his father’s passion for books and by the charisma and extraordinary intelligence of the members of the group called the ‘einaudiani’, who were the protagonists of the cultural season of a country, Italy, that was struggling to come to terms with massive cultural, economic, political and social transformations. PUBLIC libraries , *PUBLIC spaces , *LIBRARY public services , *SOCIAL space , *SOCIAL cohesion , *DIPLOMATIC & consular service , *REGIONAL differences - Abstract
After more than thirty years of immigration, Italian society is profoundly multicultural, but lacks social cohesion. This cohesion could be achieved through a stable and continuous intercultural dialogue within the population. To achieve this dialogue, libraries could assume a relevant role as they are public and friendly spaces open to everyone. Librarians could create safe social spaces to build equality into the relationships between different cultures. The paper discusses the results of a comparative analysis between six different institutions that have offered excellent services to foreign citizens in their area in the past decades: the Regional library “Bruno Salvadori” of Aosta, the Salaborsa library of Bologna, the City libraries of Modena, the Lazzerini library of Prato and the Polo regionale di documentazione interculturale della Regione Toscana, the Intercultural service of Public libraries of Rome, the City libraries of Turin. In each one of these six institutions, librarians brought about a fundamental change. Instead of offering library services dedicated exclusively to foreign citizens, they managed to create library services designed for every citizen, including those with different languages and different cultural backgrounds. From this comparative analysis it is possible to extrapolate eight guidelines to create an intercultural library. This new intercultural library, by giving relevance to different cultures, must be a mirror of Italy’s multicultural society and should shape tomorrow’s society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The transformations characterizing the Italian university and research system reproduce a constant oscillation between autonomy and responsibility. A new pathway has been paved with the introduction of evaluation and the creation of an agency with a specific mandate for managing it, the National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes (ANVUR). The process of institutional creation has given rise to a new postbureaucratic model, inspired by independence and professionalism principles. Specific organizational devices have been implemented to this aim, such as the appointment procedures of the agency's Governing Board as well as the introduction of a new officer profile, the technical officer for evaluation, working side by side administrative staff, to serve the evaluation scope. In this paper, the agency's organizational model will be analysed, together with the main characteristics and the principles of the agency in the framework of the Italian university and research system. Unlike many spiritual authors of his time or earlier times, Ignatius of Loyola prefers to use the term "enemy" or, even, the expression "enemy of human nature", when speaking of the devil. We investigate such expressions in this paper: we analyse their occurrence in Ignatian writings and explore the sources from which Ignatius may have drawn. The difficulty in tracing their origins leads us to investigate separately the meaning of "enemy" and "human nature" in Ignatius' semantic/cultural horizon, and then to combine these terms and formulate some hypotheses about the meaning Ignatius gave to the expressions under investigation. What emerges is a vision of an eschatological combat taking place in the heart of every man and woman, in which what is at stake is precisely the interpretation of human nature and the full accomplishment of man in God. - Abstract
This paper aims to describe "the attempts of a handful of dedicated pioneers to develop our discipline in such an adverse climate". Although a lot has been written I have chosen to describe the attempts of a handful of dedicated pioneers to develop our discipline in such an adverse climate. Also, despite many articles and books about the Fascist Ventennio, some details regarding the early saga of psychoanalysis in Italy, deposited in the Italian National Archives in a confidential file classified as "Società Psicoanalitica Internazionale" (International Psychoanalytical Society), are less known. Well known intellectuals, under the influence of the church, referred to psychoanalysis - during the Ventennio - as a "dirty pansexualist science". Pioneers like E. Weiss E. Servadio, N. Perroti and later C. Musatti had been the only practising psychanaysts. The psychoanalytic Journal created by Weiss could last only two years. The saga of Servadio are losely intertwined and the paper dedicated detailed information about their personal painful saga. Much of the information is drawn from confidential documents held in the Italian State Archives, reproduced by Bellanova in Le Due Gradive and partly referred to in this paper. Interesting documents show how Carmine Senise, the head of the Police who had no scientific competence, had an important role in qualifying psychoanalysis as a debase science: «Although the current Austrian government has tried to conceal its aversion to Jewish intellectuals, especially doctors and lawyers, it works with great ability to eliminate these elements considered as harmful, especially from a political viewpoint. From the Austrian and German experience, one can certainly affirm that 99% of doctors, philosophers and lawyers as well as Jewish students of German, Austrian and Czechoslovakian universities are left-oriented. Several doctors, now being unable to work and make a living in Austria, have already come or are planning to come to Italy. In due time these people will certainly constitute a challenge to the national-Italian element». [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The following paper is the first of a series of contributions with the aim of highlighting the value of the National Workshop as an essential part of the COIRAG advanced training program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. After a brief survey of its historical origins and a description of its format from its inception till 2014, the authors describe the Workshop's current formula which foresees participation of all trainees - 1st to 4th year included - attending the COIRAG institute in five centres across Italy. Special mention is made of all distinctive elements of this training device: among others, heterogeneity in group formation; the possibility for trainees to experience different and yet intertwined settings; its residential setting. A section of this paper is devoted to highlighting the training value of the enlarged group as proposed in the Workshop program. All these traits are unique and cannot be compared to any other training context. Mention is made of further training elements which are peculiar of the ongoing Workshop maintenance, such as continual attention to the holding environment and conduction by the professors' team. Experiencing different settings favours the emergence of themes, phenomena and dynamics linked to social and cultural aspects, thus offering the chance to explore the meaning of citizenship (being citizens of the COIRAG training community) and the social unconscious. In this paper, special attention is given to the first emerging theme that characterized past Workshop editions: technology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper proposes the exploration of the theme of change as regards the idea of death, customs and practices relative to the processes of mourning in various cultural contexts, and in the analysis of psychic processes, considering diverse positions in the many psychoanalytical models. Beginning from some historical and philosophical reflections, the paper puts at the centre of the examination, the relationship between the anguish of death and the psychic and cultural strategies with which these problems are faced on a psychoanalytical and anthropological level, to then evaluate how the rituals and the forms of mourning have changed in the world of today. This paper ponders whether the notion of privacy should be seen as not biblical or not Catholic. Several Catholic encyclopedias were skimmed; the increasing interest in this topic is evident, although the prevailing point of view belongs not to theology or biblical studies, but to (ecclesiastical) law. In the following section of the paper, Czech words for privacy/private (soukromí/soukromý) in the Czech Ecumenical Translation and in the most notable older translation (Bible kralická) are examined and compared with their counterparts in Latin and Greek Bibles. The Old-Czech word súkromí with its strictly local sense is mentioned as well. To sum up: The examined words are plausibly used in the translation; the notion belongs to the biblical world and is worth of further research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article aims to show that in the second half of the XIXth Century the European Romantic trend in literature became even in Italy part of the launch pad for the first "Fanta-clinic" and "Medical-thriller" novels. According to the lesson of the coeval French literature it also baptized a kind of modern poetry turned to épater le bourgeois through the transfiguration of Anatomy and later through the use of the scientific method in composing verses and novels. This paper aims to focalize some links between Literature and Medicine by concerning literary inspirations felt by many coeval writers about Paolo Gorini (1813- 1881) and Efisio Marini (1835-1900). The paper tries to demonstrate that the dark suggestions offered by the two scientists to some well known names of the Italian Literature (from Carlo Dossi to Matilde Serao) grew up strong in the Northern part of Italy as well as they did in the Southern part. This paper deals with a Greek item which played an important role in at least three domains: philosophy, rhetoric and grammar: autoteleia, which is traditionally translated by completeness and which is regularly present in the various and traditional definitions of sentence, always supposed to be 'complete in itself'. The paper browses through a lot of occurrences of the Greek terms belonging to the lexical family of autoteleia, mainly the adjective autotele:s, which were conceptualised first in philosophy by the Stoics to caracterize the logical proposition. It appears that more than completeness, autoteleia means autonomy and self-sufficiency of a proposition. It is exactly what is at stake in the grammatical use of these terms, particularly in Apollonius Dyscolus' works, where it appears that, far from being a fuzzy idea, the notion of self-sufficiency plays a precise and essential role in the syntactic description of the sentence.
