Abstract

The Covid-19 epidemic has caused substantial obstacles to the supply network globally. Hence there is urgency and necessity to build a model for cash flow in the chain of demand and supply system. This research suggests an inventory model to assist retailers in determining the optimal ordering quantity and replenishment cycle to reduce the total cost in different payment cases. The current study looks toward a partial advance and delays in the payment system considering time-sensitive demand, shortage, and partial backlogging for instantaneous deteriorating items. During the financial crisis, the partial advance and delay-in-payment strategy is planned to keep orders flowing from retailers to suppliers and customers to retailers. The impact of advanced and delayed payments on the total cost of a retailer is examined. To exemplify the model’s application, numerical examples are used. A sensitivity study of critical parameters has been done to identify more sensitive parameters which reveal the clear depiction of present problems.

Abstract

This article proposes a novel approach to managing inventory by incorporating machine learning techniques to handle imperfect deteriorating products under green investment technology. The shortages are permitted and partially backlogged. Due to uncertainty, deterioration rate and defective percentage in quantity in the received lot are considered fuzzy variables. This study aims to determine optimal ordering quantity and replenishment period to minimise the total average cost with carbon emission cost. Decision Tree Classifier algorithm is used to demand forecast seasonally. The total fuzzy cost functions defuzzify by applying sign distance approach method. A numerical example is taken to illustrate the proposed model. A comparative analysis has been studied between fixed demand and month-wise forecasted demand. The study highlights the importance of forecasted demand in the inventory system and establishes methodology to get direct month-wise forecasted demand. Finally, the sensitivity analysis performs to determine more sensitive parameters and provides managerial insights. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

A simple, rapid, cost-effective, accurate, and specific LED fluorimetry approach has been used to measure Uranium in groundwater, rock, soil, and fruits. Various fluorescence-enhancing chemicals, such as sodium pyrophosphate and orthophosphoric acid, were used in the studies. Several geochemical anomalies were discovered while evaluating the uranium concentration in the rock (background level) and soils of Bodal mines. In this study pH, TDS, hardness, alkalinity, Mg2+, Ca2+, Cl−, NO3−, SO42−, F− and uranium were taken for evaluation of water quality index (WQI) using the standard values recommended by the AERB (60ppb) and WHO(30ppb). Abstract

Breast cancer is second most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide. In order to find the cure, it is necessary to quickly diagnose the disease accurately and treat it based on the kind of symptoms appeared. Breast cancer has several classifications, which may help to determine the best treatment. The most important of these classifications are binary classification, either benign or malignant. If the cancer is in benign stage, less invasive and risk of treatments is used than for malignant stage. The main cause of breast cancer is when a single cell or group of cells escapes from the usual controls, that regulate cellular growth and begins to multiply and spread. This activity may result in a mass, tumor or neoplasm. The present paper implies the edge detection techniques for the cancer cell detection purpose. The present paper deals with observation of breast cancer classification through Image Processing using the various filters which are mainly gradient based Roberts and Sobel. Laplacian based edge detector which is Canny edge detector. The various aspects and the implementation of above mentioned filters has been put across in the present paper. The images and data sample have been taken from the Digital Database for Screening Mammography (DDSM) and American cancer society and an effort has been made for the detection of malignant cells responsible for cancer

30. Analyzing rural drinking water services for district planning in Maharashtra, Indi.

Abstract

India has made good progress toward meeting basic standards of access to safe drinking water, but improved planning methods are needed to prioritize different levels and types of water service needs for public investment. This paper presents a planning approach for collecting, analyzing, and mapping drinking water service data at the village, block, and district levels in Pune district, Maharashtra, India. The planning approach created a mobile application for data collection by gram sevaks at the village level. It employed ranking methods developed with district officers to prioritize villages with the greatest needs, cluster analysis to distinguish different types of needs, and geographic information system (GIS) mapping to visualize the spatial distribution of those needs. This analysis shows that there are high levels of spatial heterogeneity in water services within, as well as between, blocks but also that there are broad patterns of priorities for planning and policy purposes. These priorities include water service needs in the Western Ghats, a combination of water source and service needs in dissected plateau lands, source strengthening in the eastern plains, and local hot spots in peri-urban areas.
