Background: There is a crosstalk between gut microbiota (GM) and cancer immunotherapy (CI). The purpose of this study is to use bibliometric analysis to identify the highly cited papers relating to GM/CI and explore the research status and development trends of the GM/CI research. Methods: A literature search regarding GM/CI publications from 2012 to 2021 was undertaken on July 4, 2022. The article titles, journals, authors, institutions, countries, total citations, keywords, and other information were extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The Bibliometrix of R package and VOSviewer were used for bibliometric analysis. Results: A total of 665 papers were extracted. The number of papers has increased rapidly over the past decade, especially after 2018. The United States and China had the most publications and made great contributions to this field. Th5e Univ Texas MD Anderson Canc Ctr and Univ Paris Saclay were absolutely in the leading position in GM/CI. The most influential authors were Zitvogel L and Routy B. Frontiers in Immunology had the most publications and Science had the most total citations. Historical direct citation analysis explained the historical evolution in GM/CI. Highly cited papers and high-frequency keywords illustrated the current status and trends of GM/CI. Four clusters were identified and the important topics included the role of GM and antibiotics in CI, the methods of targeting GM to improve CI outcomes, the mechanism by which GM affects CI and the application of ICIs in melanoma. "Tumor microbiome", "proton pump inhibitors" and "prognosis" may be the new focus of attention in the next few years. Conclusion: This study filtered global publications on GM/CI correlation and analyzed their bibliometric characteristics, identified the most cited papers in GM/CI, and gained insight into the status, hotspots and trends of global GM/CI research, which may inform researchers and practitioners of future directions. Team science refers to research initiatives considered in collaboration with scientists from different disciplines or fields. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis for visualization of global research activity concerning the combination of cancer and the COVID-19 pandemic using a team science approach. A bibliometric study was implemented using Web of Science from 2019 to 2021. We analyzed citations to identify description and citations analysis of results, most prolific countries, international research collaboration, most prolific institutions, research areas, most cited papers, and most productive journals. The preliminary data of 2,313 studies that adopted a team science approach were recorded and analyzed. Team science is becoming progressively popular in cancer research. The United States was the most active country, followed by Italy and China. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy had the highest level of cooperation with other countries. The most prolific institution was Harvard University, followed by University of London and the University of Texas System. Head and Neck Journal for the Sciences and Specialties of the Head and Neck, Frontiers in Oncology, and eCancerMedicalScience were the most productive journals. Governments, organizations, policymakers, and researchers should pay attention to team science approach at times of disasters such as cancer and COVID-19 to achieve the best strategies for controlling cancer that is currently a world problem. Purpose: With the rapid development of immunotherapy, cancer treatment has entered a new phase. Medical imaging, as a primary diagnostic method, is closely related to cancer immunotherapy. However, until now, there has been no systematic bibliometric analysis of the state of this field. Therefore, the main purpose of this article is to clarify the past research trajectory, summarize current research hotspots, reveal dynamic scientific developments, and explore future research directions. Patients and Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted on the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database to identify publications related to immunotherapy specifically for the medical imaging of carcinoma. The search spanned the period from the year 2003 to 2023. Several analytical tools were employed. These included CiteSpace (6.2.4), and the Microsoft Office Excel (2016). Results: By searching the database, a total of 704 English articles published between 2003 and 2023 were obtained. We have observed a rapid increase in the number of publications since 2018. The two most active countries are the United States (n=265) and China (n=170). Pittock, Sean J and Abu-sbeih, Hamzah are very concerned about the relationship between cancer immunotherapy and medical images and have published more academic papers (n = 5; n = 4). Among the top 10 co-cited authors, Topalian Sl (n=43) cited ranked first, followed by Graus F (n=40) cited. According to clustering, timeline, and burst word analysis, the results show that the current research focus is on "MRI", "deep learning", "tumor microenvironment" and so on. Conclusion: Medical imaging and cancer immunotherapy are hot topics. The United States is the country with the most publications and the greatest influence in this field, followed by China. Numerous studies have highlighted the implication of oral microbiota in various cancers. However, no bibliometric analysis has been conducted on the relationship between oral microbiota and cancer. This bibliometric analysis aimed to identify the research hotspots in oral microbiota and cancer research, as well as predict future research trends. The literature published relating to oral microbiota and cancer was searched from the Web of Science Core Collection database (WoSCC) from 2013 to 2022. VOSviewer or Citespace software was used to perform the bibliometric analysis, focusing on countries, institutions, authors, journals, keywords and references. A total of 1516 publications were included in the analysis. The number of publications related oral microbiota and cancer increased annually, reaching its peak in 2022 with 287 papers. The United States (456) and China (370) were the countries with the most publications and made significant contributions to the field. Sears CL and Zhou XD were the most productive authors. The high frequency of keywords revealed key topics, including cancer (colorectal cancer, oral cancer), oral microbiota (Fusobacterium nucleatum, Porphyromonas gingivalis), and inflammation (periodontal disease). The latest trend keywords were F. nucleatum, dysbiosis, prognosis, tumor microenvironment, gastric microbiota, complications and survival, suggesting a new hotspot in the field of oral microbiota and cancer. Our study provides a comprehensive analysis of oral microbiota and cancer research, revealing an increase in publications in recent years. Future research directions will continue to focus on the diversity of oral microbiota impacted by cancers and the underlying mechanism connecting them, providing new ideas for targeted therapy of tumorigenesis. miRNAs biomarkers are emerging as an essential part of clinical oncology. Their oncogenic and tumour suppressor properties playing a role in malignancy has generated interest in their potential for use in disease prognosis. While several studies on miRNA have been carried out across the globe, evaluating the clinical implications of miRNAs in cancer diagnosis and prognosis research has currently not been attempted. A study delineating the area of miRNA research, including the topics presently being focused on, the seminal papers in this field, and the direction of research interest, does not exist. This study aims to conduct a large-scale, global data analysis and bibliometric profiling analysis of studies to evaluate the research output of clinical implications of miRNAs in cancer diagnosis and prognosis listed in the SCOPUS database. A systematic search strategy was followed to identify and extract all relevant studies, subsequently analysed to generate a bibliometric map. SPSS software (version 27) was used to calculate bibliometric indicators or parameters for analysis, such as year and country of affiliation with leading authors, journals, and institutions. It is also used to analyse annual research outputs, including total citations and the number of times it has been cited with productive nations and H-index. The number of global research articles retrieved for miRNA-Cancer research over the study period 2003 to 2019 was 18,636. Between 2012 and 2019, the growth rate of global publications is six times (n = 15,959; 90.71 percent articles) that of 2003 to 2011. (2704; 9.29 per cent articles). China published the most publications in the field of miRNA in cancer (n = 7782; 41%), while the United States had the most citations (n = 327,538; 48%) during the time span. Of these journals, Oncotarget has the highest percentage of article publications. The journal Cancer Research had the most citations (n = 41,876), with 6.20 per cent (n = 41,876). This study revealed a wide variety of journals in which miRNA-Cancer research are published; these bibliometric parameters exhibit crucial clinical information on performance assessment of research productivity and quality of research output. Purpose This study aimed to develop and test the psychometric properties of a Professional Nursing Support Scale for patients with cancer in mainland China. Methods: The study was conducted in two phases from January 2017 to January 2020. Phase I involved item generation and developing a preliminary version of Professional Nursing Support Scale through literature review, qualitative interviews, content validity evaluation and a pilot study. Phase II involved psychometric properties testing of the Professional Nursing Support Scale in 700 patients with cancer recruited from four public hospitals in Anhui Province, China. Results: A 49‐item Professional Nursing Support Scale was finally developed. Exploratory factor analysis showed a four‐factor structure of the 49‐item Professional Nursing Support Scale, accounting for 56.95% of variance. Cronbach's α ranged from 0.91 to 0.94 for the four subscales. Confirmatory factor analysis further confirmed the best model fit of four‐factor structure of the Professional Nursing Support Scale. The Professional Nursing Support Scale also showed an acceptable concurrent validity with Supportive Care Needs Scale short form 34 (r = 0.75, p < 0.001) and Psychological Distress Thermometer (r = 0.39, p < 0.001). Conclusions: The Professional Nursing Support Scale is a reliable and valid instrument to assess perceived needs of professional nursing support and support acquisition in relation to the care in Chinese patients with cancer. Nurses generally provide supportive care services and play imperative roles in supporting patients in cancer.Using a valid and reliable instrument to assess supportive care needs for patients with cancer is a critical step for the improvement of clinical practice and research. A growing body of research has illuminated that photodynamic therapy (PDT) serves as an important therapeutic strategy in oncology and has become a hot topic in recent years. Although numerous papers related to cancer PDT (CPDT) have been published, no bibliometric studies have been conducted to summarize the research landscape, and highlight the research trends and hotspots in this field. This study collected 5,804 records on CPDT published between 2000 and 2021 from Web of Science Core Collection. Bibliometric analysis and visualization were conducted using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and one online platform. The annual publication and citation results revealed significant increasing trends over the past 22 years. China and the United States, contributing 56.24% of the total publications, were the main driving force in this field. Chinese Academy of Sciences was the most prolific institution. Photodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy and Photochemistry and Photobiology were the most productive and most co-cited journals, respectively. All keywords were categorized into four clusters including studies on nanomaterial technology, clinical applications, mechanism, and photosensitizers. "nanotech-based PDT" and "enhanced PDT" were current research hotspots. In addition to several nano-related topics such as "nanosphere," "nanoparticle," "nanomaterial," "nanoplatform," "nanomedicine" and "gold nanoparticle," the following topics including "photothermal therapy," "metal organic framework," "checkpoint blockade," "tumor microenvironment," "prodrug" also deserve further attention in the near future. Background: Ultrasound-triggered sonodynamic therapy (SDT), as a noninvasive approach, has attracted considerable attention in a wide variety of malignant tumors and other diseases. Over the past 2 decades, the number of scientific publications on SDT has increased rapidly. However, there is still a lack of one comprehensive report that summarizes the global research trends and knowledge landscapes in the field of SDT in detail. Thus, we performed a bibliometric analysis on SDT from 2000 to 2021 to track the current hotspots and highlight future directions. Methods: We collected publications on SDT research from the Web of Science Core Collection database. The annual number of publications and citations, major contributors, popular journals, international collaborations, co-cited references and co-occurrence keywords were analyzed and visualized with CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and R-bibliometrix. Results: A total of 701 publications were included. The annual publication output increased from 5 in 2000 to 175 in 2021, and the average growth rate was 18.4%. China was the most productive country with 463 documents (66.05%), and Harbin Medical University was the most prolific institution (N = 73). Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology published the most papers related to SDT. Materials Science, and Chemistry were the research areas receiving the most interest. All the keywords were divided into four different clusters including studies on mechanisms, studies on drug delivery and nanoparticles, studies on cancer therapy, as well as studies on ultrasound and sonosensitizers. In addition to nanomaterials-related studies including nanoparticles, mesoporous silica nanoparticles, nanosheets, liposomes, microbubble and TiO2 nanoparticle, the following research directions such as immunogenic cell death, metal-organic framework, photothermal therapy, hypoxia, tumor microenvironment, chemodynamic therapy, combination therapy, tumor resistance, intensity focused ultrasound, drug delivery, and Staphylococcus aureus also deserve further attention and may continue to explode in the future. Conclusion: SDT has a bright future in the field of cancer treatment, and nanomaterials have increasingly influenced the SDT field with the development of nano-technology. Overall, this comprehensive bibliometric study was the first attempt to analyze the field of SDT, which could provide valuable references for later researchers to better understand the global research trends, hotspots and frontiers in this domain. Introduction: Cancer patients and caregivers have myriad unmet needs which can have detrimental consequences on their psychosocial wellbeing. This systematic review aims to identify the unmet supportive care needs of immigrant and native Chinese cancer patients and caregivers. Methods: We systematically searched various electronic databases (e.g. Scopus, CINAHL, PsycInfo, etc.) from the earliest date available until January 2018. Additional studies were identified through reference lists and citation tracking. Eligibility criteria included: (a) qualitative, quantitative and/or mixed methods studies published in English; (b) immigrant and native Chinese cancer patients and/or caregivers (age ≥18 years); (c) unmet needs and/or their correlates. Studies were assessed for their risk of bias, and a narrative synthesis of findings was performed. Results: Forty‐seven papers from 45 studies met eligibility criteria. The most prevalent area of unmet needs was health system and information. Patients most commonly desired one member of the hospital to talk to about all aspects of their care. Caregivers preferred information about the patient's prognosis and likely outcome. Anxiety was most commonly associated with higher levels of health system and information needs. Conclusion: Chinese patients and caregivers experience a range of unmet health system and information needs, which differ depending on their stage along the cancer trajectory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Tetrandrine has been the focus of many studies in recent years. Currently, no bibliometric study in this field has been published. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of the articles on tetrandrine research from the WOS core database during the recent two decades. Methods: Documents were retrieved for further bibliometric analysis based on the search terms: [TI = (Tetrandrine OR Sinomeninea OR Hanfangchin A) AND PY = (2000–2021)]. We used Microsoft Excel to conduct the frequency analysis, VOSviewer for data visualization, and RStudio for citation metrics and analysis. The standard bibliometric indicators such as the temporal trends and geographical distribution of publications and citations, prolific authors and co-authorship, keywords citation burst, preferred journals, top-cited articles, and important institutions were applied in this study. Results: 490 documents were retrieved from WOS core database, the retrieved document type consists of 8 categories: 425 articles, 42 meeting abstracts, 8 reviews, 7 corrections, 3 editorial material, 2 proceedings paper, 1 letter, 1 retraction. Corrections and Retractions was excluded from this investigation, the left 482 document were included for furter bibliometric analysis. Conclusion: Based on our findings, there was a continuous growth of publications on tetrandrine research for 22 years since 2000. China was the largest contributor to tetrandrine research, followed by the United States. The most influential author was Cheng Y (Natl Taiwan Univ Hosp). Acta Pharmacol Sin remained the main publication related to tetrandrine research. Chinese Academy of Sciences, is expected to be a good collaborating center in tetrandrine research. Objective: Currently, there are no self‐management resources in Australia that support both Chinese immigrant patients affected by cancer and their caregivers. This paper reports on the development and acceptability assessment of a self‐management intervention (WeCope) in terms of its scope, social and cultural relevance and sensitivity. Methods: Using a community participatory approach in this qualitative study, patients, caregivers and community members took part in semi‐structured focus groups or interviews in Cantonese, Mandarin or English to develop and provide feedback on the acceptability of 'WeCope'. Content analysis was performed on the transcripts using inductive (codes) and deductive (themes and categories) methods. Results: Patients (n = 17), caregivers (n = 10) and community members (n = 2) participated. Four themes were developed, guided by the framework of cultural sensitivity in interventions: (1) content preference and satisfaction; (2) perceived usefulness and usability; (3) cultural relevance and acceptability; and (4) layout and presentation. Participants most commonly wanted more information about treatment‐related issues (n = 14) and available support services (n = 14). Conclusion: Chinese patients and caregivers expressed overall satisfaction with the WeCope resource and provided suggestions for improvement, including provision of more treatment‐related information and contact details for available support while reducing the overall resource length. Cancer disease is one of the main causes of death in the world, with million annual cases in the last decades. The need to find a cure has stimulated the search for efficient treatments and diagnostic procedures. One of the most promising tools that has emerged against cancer in recent years is machine learning (ML), which has raised a huge number of scientific papers published in a relatively short period of time. The present study analyzes global scientific production on ML applied to the most relevant cancer types through various bibliometric indicators. We find that over 30,000 studies have been published so far and observe that cancers with the highest number of published studies using ML (breast, lung, and colon cancer) are those with the highest incidence, being the USA and China the main scientific producers on the subject. Interestingly, the role of China and Japan in stomach cancer is correlated with the number of cases of this cancer type in Asia (78% of the worldwide cases). Knowing the countries and institutions that most study each area can be of great help for improving international collaborations between research groups and countries. Our analysis shows that medical and computer science journals lead the number of publications on the subject and could be useful for researchers in the field. Finally, keyword co-occurrence analysis suggests that ML-cancer research trends are focused not only on the use of ML as an effective diagnostic method, but also for the improvement of radiotherapy- and chemotherapy-based treatments. The limitations of traditional cancer treatments are driving the creation and development of new nanomedicines. At present, with the rapid increase of research on nanomedicine in the field of cancer, there is a lack of intuitive analysis of the development trend, main authors and research hotspots of nanomedicine in the field of cancer, as well as detailed elaboration of possible research hotspots. In this review, data collected from the Web of Science Core Collection database between January 1st, 2000, and December 31st, 2021, were subjected to a bibliometric analysis. The co-authorship, co-citation, and co-occurrence of countries, institutions, authors, literature, and keywords in this subject were examined using VOSviewer, Citespace, and a well-known online bibliometrics platform. We collected 19,654 published papers, China produced the most publications (36.654%, 7204), followed by the United States (29.594%, 5777), and India (7.780%, 1529). An interesting fact is that, despite China having more publications than the United States, the United States still dominates this field, having the highest H-index and the most citations. Acs Nano, Nano Letters, and Biomaterials are the top three academic publications that publish articles on nanomedicine for cancer out of a total of 7580 academic journals. The most significant increases were shown for the keywords "cancer nanomedicine", "tumor microenvironment", "nanoparticles", "prodrug", "targeted nanomedicine", "combination", and "cancer immunotherapy" indicating the promising area of research. Meanwhile, the development prospects and challenges of nanomedicine in cancer are also discussed and provided some solutions to the major obstacles. Natural products, and especially the active ingredients found in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), have a thousand-year-long history of clinical use and a strong theoretical basis in TCM. As such, traditional remedies provide shortcuts for the development of original new drugs in China, and increasing numbers of natural products are showing great therapeutic potential in various diseases. This paper reviews the molecular mechanisms of action of natural products from different sources used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and cancer, introduces the methods and newly emerging technologies used to identify and validate the targets of natural active ingredients, enumerates the expansive list of TCM used to treat inflammatory diseases and cancer, and summarizes the patterns of action of emerging technologies such as single-cell multiomics, network pharmacology, and artificial intelligence in the pharmacological studies of natural products to provide insights for the development of innovative natural product-based drugs. Our hope is that we can make use of advances in target identification and single-cell multiomics to obtain a deeper understanding of actions of mechanisms of natural products that will allow innovation and revitalization of TCM and its swift industrialization and internationalization. This review proposes new strategies that focus on elucidating the mechanisms of natural products and their target proteins, hoping to provide insights into the development of new drugs based on natural products. In China, Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most prevalent central nervous system (CNS) degenerative illness affecting middle-aged and older persons. Movement disorders including resting tremor, bradykinesia, myotonia, postural instability, and gait instability are the predominant clinical symptoms. The two main types of PD are sporadic and familial, with sporadic PD being the more prevalent of the two. The environment, genetics, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, inflammation, protein aggregation and misfolding, loss of trophic factors, cell death, and gut microbiota may all have a role in the etiology of PD. PD is inversely connected with other cancers and positively correlated with COVID-19, diabetes mellitus (DM), melanoma, and ischemic heart disease (IHD) risk. Delaying disease progression, managing motor and non-motor symptoms, and avoiding and controlling dysfunction in the middle and later phases of the disease are the key areas of research and development for its therapy. Presently, the development and progression of PD can be slowed down by using conventional pharmacology, natural items, and innovative technology. Background and aims: The impact of lipids on the overall survival (OS) of patients with malignancy has not yet been clarified. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of hyperlipidemia on the OS among Chinese patients based on Body Mass Index (BMI) stratifications and hyperlipidemia types. Method: The patients in this study were derived from the Investigation of the Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers (INSCOC) trial. Kaplan–Meier was used to draw the survival curve, and the log-rank test was used to estimate the survival rates between each group. Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to estimate the hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI). Results: A total of 9054 patients were included in the final study, with a median age of 59 years, and 55.3% (5004) of them were males. Regarding types of hyperlipidemia, only low high-density lipoprotein was an independent risk factor for the prognosis of all patients (HR = 1.35, 95% CI: 1.25–1.45, P < 0.001), while high total cholesterol (HR = 1.01, 95% CI: 0.90–1.15, P = 0.839) and high low-density lipoprotein (HR = 1.03, 95%CI: 0.91–1.16, P = 0.680) were not. In terms of BMI stratification, the effect of triglycerides on prognosis varied; high triglycerides were an independent risk factor for the prognosis of underweight patients (HR = 1.56, 95% CI:1.05–2.32, P = 0.027) and a protective factor for overweight patients (HR = 0.75, 95% CI: 0.63–0.89, P = 0.001). However, for normal-weight patients, there was no significant statistical difference (HR = 0.88, 95%CI: 0.75–1.03, P = 0.108). Conclusions: The impact of hyperlipidemia on the OS among patients with cancer varied by different BMI and hyperlipidemia types. Purpose: To investigate the effects of various intervention approaches on cancer-related fatigue (CRF) in patients with breast cancer. Method: Computer searches were conducted on PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP), and Wanfang databases from their establishment to June 2023. Selection was made using inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 77 articles were included to compare the effects of 12 interventions on patients with breast cancer. Results: Seventy-seven studies with 12 various interventions were examined. The network findings indicated that cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) (SMD, -1.56; 95%CI, -3.08~-0.04), Chinese traditional exercises (CTE) (SMD, -0.85; 95%CI, -1.34~-0.36), aerobic exercise (AE) (SMD, -0.77; 95%CI, -1.09~-0.45), multimodal exercise (ME) (SMD, -0.75; 95%CI, -1.26~-0.25), music interventions (MI) (SMD, -0.74; 95%CI, -1.45~-0.03), and yoga (YG) (SMD, -0.44; 95%CI, -0.83 to -0.06) can reduce CRF more than the control group (CG). For relaxation exercises (RE) (MD, -6.69; 95%CI, -9.81~-3.57), MI (MD, -5.45; 95%CI, -7.98~-2.92), AE (MD, -4.34; 95%CI, -5.90~-2.78), ME (MD, -3.47; 95%CI, -4.95~-1.99), YG (MD, -2.07; 95%CI, -3.56~-0.57), and mindfulness training (MD, -1.68; 95%CI, -2.91~-0.46), PSQI improvement was superior to CG. Objectives: Perform a bibliometric analysis on the role of LAG-3 in the domain of cancer, elucidate the prevailing areas of research, and visually depict the evolutionary trajectory and prospective directions of LAG-3 research over the past twenty-three decades. Materials and methods: Between 2000 and 2023, a comprehensive review of scholarly articles pertaining to LAG-3 research in the context of cancer was carried out using the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Bibliometric analysis can be conducted by taking advantage of VOSviewer (version 1.6.16) and CiteSpace (version 6.2.R4). Create a network diagram to visually represent various authors, countries, and organizations while assessing the publishing years, journals, references, and keywords. Results: In conclusion, 1841 records were identified and published in 587 publications. These records were authored by 12,849 individuals affiliated with 2491 institutes across 74 countries. There has been a substantial surge in publications subsequent to 2013. The USA, China, and Germany gave the majority of records, amounting to 69.69%. American institutions actively engage in collaboration with institutions located in other countries. Triebel, F., Vignali, Dario A. A., Workman, Creg J. Drake, Charles G., and Elkord, Eyad are highly regarded authors in their respective fields. However, it is worth noting that Triebel exhibits limited collaboration with other writers. The examination of the role of LAG-3 in cancer and its potential for use in clinical settings is a discernible trend, as seen by keyword analysis. Proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC) technology, one of the targeted protein degradation technologies, has drawn marked attention from researchers of both academia and industry in recent years. After over two decades of development, the literature on it has proliferated. In order to better grasp the frontiers and hot spots of PROTAC, this bibliometric analysis was carried out. The articles and reviews regarding PROTAC were culled from the Web of Science Core Collection. General information and the trend of publication outputs, countries/regions, authors, journals, influential papers, and keywords in this field were visually analyzed using CtieSpace, VOSviewer, or Excel software. As a result, a total of 808 publications were included. The number of papers regarding PROTAC significantly increased yearly. These papers mainly come from 45 countries/regions led by the USA and China. 3886 authors were identified participating in these studies, among which Craig M. Crews had the most significant number and influential articles. Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry are the two journals with the most papers. After analysis, the most influential papers were identified in the area, including highly cited papers, references with citation burst, and high co-citated papers. The most common keywords including cancer, E3 ligase, drug discovery, epigenetic, resistance, and so on, represent the current and developing areas of study. BRDs, androgen receptor (AR), HDACs, estrogen receptor (ER), EGFR, CDKs, and KRAS are the most common targets. Aim: To examine the multidimensional properties of caregiver burden among family caregivers of patients with advanced cancer in a palliative context. Design: A sequential, explanatory, mixed‐method study was performed. Methods: Family caregivers of patients diagnosed with advanced cancer were recruited from a palliative care department of a third‐level hospital in Sichuan Province, China. The Caregiver Burden Inventory, Social Support Rating Scale and Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale were used to collect quantitative data, and a total of 150 caregivers were recruited from January 2022 to September 2022. Qualitative data were collected through semi‐structured interviews, and a total of 22 caregivers were interviewed from October 2022 to November 2022. Survey data were analysed using descriptive statistics, and the factors of caregiver burden were identified using the Mann–Whitney U test, Kruskal–Wallis H test and Spearman correlations. Interpretative phenomenological analysis was performed to analyse the interview data to initially explore the multidimensions of caregiver burden. The following‐a‐thread method and convergence coding matrix were used for triangulation to examine the multidimensional properties of caregiver burden. Results: The participants experienced a moderate level of caregiver burden (32.97 ± 13.09). Through triangulation, six meta‐themes and nine meta‐subthemes were identified as multidimensional properties of caregiver burden, including physical (too many caring tasks and poor health condition), emotional (strong negative emotions resulting from patients' suffering and insufficient and ineffective family communication), social (less social interaction and social role conflict) and economic burdens, factors that aggravate burden (prevention and control of COVID‐19 and spousal relationship with patients) and factors that mitigate burden (social support). Conclusion: Multiple dimensions of caregiver burden were experienced by family caregivers of patients with advanced cancer in the palliative context. Family‐centred palliative care must be further developed. Implications for the profession: It is important to develop family‐centred palliative care. Therefore, the focus must be on developing a rational understanding of palliative care in public and a culture‐oriented death education in palliative units. Purpose-Immunotherapy has revolutionized cancer therapy, becoming the standard of care for various malignancy treatments. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) patients, however, are an underserved group with limited access to clinical trials and cancer therapy. This study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of programmed cell death 1 (PD - 1) inhibitors in patients with advanced cancer and HIV/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Methods and Materials-We performed a prospective, open-label, nonrandomized, phase 1 single center study. Patients with advanced cancer and HIV/AIDS received the treatment of PD - 1 inhibitors (camrelizumab, 200 mg, administered intravenously every 3 weeks), along with combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) for HIV. Results-Sixteen participants (12 men and 4 women; median age, 46.5 (29 - 78) years) were enrolled; 1 had non - Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), and 15 had non - AIDS - defining cancers. Safety was observed over 130 cycles of treatment with camrelizumab. Most treatment-emergent adverse events at least possibly attributed to camrelizumab were grade 1 or 2, including reactive cutaneous capillary endothelial proliferation (RCCEP) (9 participants), hearing loss (1 participant), hypophysitis (1 participant). 3 participants experienced hemorrhage due to poor performance status. HIV was controlled in all participants. Best tumor responses included 3 complete response, 5 partial response, 2 stable disease, and 6 progressive disease. The 2 years progressionfree survival (PFS) was 67.0% (95% CI: -0.05, 0.00) and overall survival (OS) was 55.3% (95% CI: -0.05, 0.01) for the 16 patients who had received camrelizumab. Aims: This study aimed to capture and explore family caregivers' lived experience of caring for hospitalised patients with cancer during the lockdown. Background: The unprecedented lockdown episodes due to COVID‐19 have brought significant changes in the hospital visiting policies and caregiving practices. As part of the precautionary measures for hospital visits, the bedside companion was restricted to one caregiver for patients with cancer in Shanghai hospitals. Design: This study adopted a descriptive phenomenological approach. Methods: Data were collected among 20 family caregivers recruited from the Oncology department of a tertiary hospital in Shanghai in May 2022, using purposive sampling method and followed by unstructured, open‐ended interviews. Colaizzi's seven‐step data analysis method was used to analyse the data to reveal the emergent themes and subthemes of the phenomenon. Results: Four themes were generated on family caregivers' lived experience of caring for hospitalised patients with cancer during the lockdown, including (1) Feeling scared for the patient; (2) Living a life feeling trapped under COVID‐19 surveillance; (3) Feeling neglected and unseen; (4) Growing resilience and appreciation. Conclusions: The lockdown exacerbated the burden of family caregivers when they cared for the hospitalised patients with cancer during the lockdown period. However, positive reframing of the lived experience facilitated their coping with the challenging situation. Relevance to Clinical Practice: Findings from this study highlighted the potential proactive roles the healthcare providers could play in improving family caregivers' health and supporting them during and beyond the COVID‐19 pandemic. Aim: The aim of the study was to develop and psychologically test the mobile health information‐seeking behaviour (MHISB) questionnaire in people with cancer. Design: Instrument development. Methods: The study was conducted in three phases in a southeastern city of China from May 2017 to April 2018. In phase one, an item pool was constructed based on a literature review and semistructured interviews. In phase two, expert evaluation and cognitive interviews were used to evaluate the content validity of the questionnaire. In phase three, a cross‐sectional study was conducted with people with cancer. Cronbach's α was calculated for reliability analysis. Validity evaluation included content validity and construct validity. Results: The developed MHISB questionnaire has four dimensions (information‐seeking frequency, information‐seeking self‐efficacy, health information evaluation and information‐seeking willingness) and 25 items. Psychometric findings were satisfactory and supported the questionnaire's reliability. Conclusions: The construction process of the MHISB questionnaire was scientific and feasible. Background: Anti-PD-1 antibodies have been approved for treating several cancer. However, data regarding the safety and efficacy of these agents in HIV-infected patients with cancer is lacking, because these patients are frequently omitted from clinical trials. Objectives: The primary aim of our research is to assess the safety, activity, and long-term outcomes of PD-1 inhibitors in the treatment of HIV-infected patients with advanced cancer. Method: We retrospectively analyzed data from HIV-infected patients with advanced cancers who were treated with PD-1 inhibitors at Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, Shanghai, China. Results: Fifteen HIV-infected patients (all are men; asian; median age, 44) with cancer who were treated with chemotherapy and/or combined the other oncology treatments [along with combined antiretroviral therapy (cART)] prior to Sintilimab (12 out of 15) or Nivolumab (1 out of 11) or Camrelizumab (2 out of 11) injection were identified. Eight patients responded to treatment (disease control rate 53.3%), with 1 got partial response (PR) and 7 were stable. Most treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) were grade 1 or 2 including anemia, leukopenia, hyperglycemia, granulocytopenia, and thrombocytopenia. Eight patients (53.3%) experienced treatment-related AEs (TRAEs) with grades 3/4including myelosuppression, infection, and neurological disorders. CD4+ T cell count and plasma HIV RNA remained stable throughout the treatment. Conclusions: When used in HIV-infected patients with advanced malignancies, PD-1 inhibitors tend to have favorable efficacy, manageable side effects, and no deteriorated impacts on plasma HIV-RNA and CD4+ T cell count. Background: Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the most common type of ovarian cancer. About 90% of ovary tumors are epithelial. The current treatment for EOC involves surgical debulking of the tumors followed by a combination of chemotherapy. While most patients achieve complete remission, many EOCs will recur and develop chemoresistance. The cancer cells can adapt to several stress stimuli, becoming resistant. Therefore, new ways to fight resistant cells during the disease are being studied. Recently, exosomes, which reflect cell behavior in normal and pathological conditions such as epithelial ovarian cancer, are of academic interest as new biomarkers for diagnosis and therapy. Consequently, the current study aimed to investigate the research output of exosomes in EOC. Method: A bibliometric method was used for analyzing publications on exosome and epithelial ovarian cancer from the beginning to 15 October 2022 by searching keywords in Scopus, PubMed and Google scholar. Annual scientific publications, authors, citations, journals, co-authorships, and keywords co-occurrence were analyzed and plotted using Microsoft Office Excel and VOS viewer. 39 original journal articles and 3 reviews have been published since 2015 up to 15 October 2022. Results: The findings showed that China is the top country in research output, international collaborations, organization, author, and sponsorship. The top journals were the Journal of Ovarian Research, Oncotarget, and Tumor Biology, all in the United States. The top institution was Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. The top author was Xipeng Wang. Co-occurrence analysis showed that academics' interest is toward:1) 1) Exosomes as prognostic biomarkers of EOC as well as their role in the proliferation and migration of cells. 2) The role of exosomes in metastasis through different mechanisms; 3) The role of exosomes in epithelial-mesenchymal transition of ovarian cancer cells; 4) The diagnostic role of EVs in EOC; and 5) Conferring chemoresistance in EOC through the exosomal transfer of miRNAs. Conclusion: Research on the exosome and EOC has an increasing trend, and China is much more involved than other countries in research, financial support, and international cooperation. Objective: This study aims to systematically examine Chinese cancer patients' and families' preferences for information disclosure to the patient, patient awareness, and predictors of patient awareness. Methods: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta‐Analyses guidelines were followed. Web of Science, Scopus, Proquest, Taylor & Francis Online, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure were searched in April 2022 and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database in July 2022 for quantitative studies. The Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool was used for quality assessment. Results: A total of 22 studies were included, and the average quality score was 0.65/1. Meta‐analyses showed that 89.6% and 81.8% of cancer patients wanted to know their diagnosis and prognosis, respectively. Meanwhile, 50.0% and 32.4% of families prefer diagnosis disclosure and prognosis disclosure to the patient, respectively. Significantly more patients than families favored disclosure to the patient. In reality, only 59.3% of cancer patients know their diagnosis, and 19.9% know their prognosis. For predictors, while patients' gender, cancer type (breast cancer or not), treatment method (operation or other), or complications (yes or no) do not influence diagnosis awareness, being younger, being married, having higher educational attainment, having early‐stage rather than late‐stage cancer, and being in a higher‐grade hospital all predict better chances of knowing a diagnosis. No study explored predictors of patients' prognosis awareness. The findings did not vary according to publication time or sample size. Conclusions: Chinese cancer patients are eager to know their diagnosis and prognosis, but families are hesitant about disclosure to the patient, and patients' awareness is low. Objective: The present study was aimed to comprehensively characterize the epidemiological, clinicopathological characteristics, treatments, and prognosis of intraoral spindle cell carcinoma (SpCC). Materials and Methods: Patients diagnosed with intraoral SpCC at our institution in the past 15 years (2005–2019) were screened from inpatient disease registry. All relevant data concerning patients with intraoral SpCC were retrieved. Previous reports about intraoral SpCC with adequate clinicopathological data in both English literature and Chinese literature were collected. Eligible cases were further reviewed and pooled for statistical analyses. Results: Six patients (5 females and 1 male; average age: 59 years) with intraoral SpCC were histopathologically diagnosed and surgically treated at our institution. The literature review identified another 63 published cases from 34 articles. Most cases were presented in the fifth to seventh decade of life with a male preponderance. Gingiva (23/69, 33.3%) was the most common site followed by the tongue (19/69, 27.5%) and buccal mucosa (8/69, 11.6%). Complete surgical ablation remains the primary treatment option. Tumor size, pathological grades, cervical node metastasis, and distant metastasis were significantly associated with reduced survival. Conclusions: Intraoral SpCC is an uncommon and aggressive malignancy with dismal prognosis. Much attention and effort are needed to characterize this rare entity and improve its clinical outcomes. Introduction and aims: Cancer anorexia-cachexia syndrome (CACS) is a common multifactorial syndrome, which affects up to 80% patients with advanced cancer. At present, evidence to support the benefit of pharmacological intervention in the management of CACS is limited. Patients would benefit from standard procedures for early assessment and identification of cancer anorexia-cachexia, and using nonpharmacological strategies to manage patients with CACS. This best practice implementation project aimed to implement an evidence-based practice in assessing and managing patients with CACS, thereby improving the compliance of clinical practice with the best evidence and the quality of life of patients with CACS. Methods: This was an evidence-based audit and feedback project that used a three-phase approach at a public hospital in China. Phase 1 included the development of seven evidence-based audit criteria and carrying out a baseline audit on 30 patients using the JBI's Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System in the Department of Radiation Oncology of Nanfang Hospital. Phase 2 utilized the Getting Research into Practice component of the Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System to identify barriers to compliance with best practice principles and developed strategies and resources to improve compliance. Phase 3 involved conducting a follow-up audit using the same sample size and audit criteria to assess the results of interventions implemented to improve practice and identify issues that would be addressed in future audit. Results: The compliance rates of audit criteria 1, 2 and 6 were 100% at both baseline and follow-up audit. After the application of evidence, the compliance rate increased from 0 to 100% for audit criterion 3, from 0 to 76.6% for audit criterion 4, from 23 to 70% for audit criterion 5, and from 0 to 40% for audit criterion 5. Conclusion: The best evidence for the assessment and nonpharmacological management of cancer patients with CACS can improve clinical practice, the quality of clinical nursing, and patient satisfaction. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) caused an ongoing global pandemic of COVID-19. It has been found that COVID-19 has an influence on the changes of blood coagulation parameters and the high incidence of thrombosis. Changchun experienced the epidemic of the Omicron BA.2 variant SARS-CoV-2 in March 2022 in China. Once infected, BA.2 spreads rapidly and most of them are asymptomatic. The purpose of this study is to research venous thrombosis and laboratory changes (including PLT, PT, APTT, DD, FDP, CRP, WBC, IL-6 and lymphocyte subsets) among 92 cancer patients with COVID-19 and 73 COVID-19 patients with non-cancer by Mann-Whitney U and Chi-square test. It was found that the levels of D-dimer, FDP, CRP and IL-6 in cancer patients were significantly higher than those in the COVID-19 cohort. There were 9 (9.8%) cancer patients and 2 (2.7%) noncancer patients found VTE, with no significant difference. The results showed that WBC, lymphocytes and B cells in cancer patients were significantly lower than those in the other group. Prophylactic anticoagulation was recommended for cancer patients with high risk factors, while paying attention to the occurrence of bleeding events. The detection of leukocyte classification, Ddimer, prothrombin time and fibrinogen at different time points are helpful for the diagnosis and anticoagulation of COVID-19 patients with cancer. Introduction: Major depressive disorder (MDD) is associated with an increased risk of suicide and suicide attempt among cancer patients. However, we do not know how many cancer patients without MDD have suicidal ideation (SI). Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence, characteristics and correlated factors of SI among advanced cancer patients without MDD. Methods: This is a multi‐center, cross‐sectional study based on an electronic patient‐reported outcome systems in patients who were diagnosed with advanced lung, liver, gastric, esophageal, colorectal or breast cancer, the top six prevalent cancers in China. A total of 2930 advanced cancer patients were recruited from 10 regional representative cancer centers across China from August 2019 to December 2020. Patients completed the Patient Health Questionnaire‐9 regarding if they had thoughts of being better off dead or of hurting themselves in some way in the previous 2 weeks. Patients also completed the symptom inventory and quality of life assessment. Generalized estimating equation model was performed to explore the correlated factors associated with SI among the patients without MDD. Results: The overall prevalence of SI among advanced cancer patients without MDD was 13.1%. The prevalence was higher in older patients. After adjusted for existing conditions, patients with vomiting symptom (p < 0.001), poorer life quality (p < 0.001), and middle education level (p = 0.031) were correlated factors of SI. Conclusions: The suicidal ideation is common in advanced cancer patients without MDD. Qualitative meta‐synthesis is a coherent approach to answering an overarching research question by synthesising past qualitative studies so as to create new meanings from their results. We conducted a qualitative meta‐synthesis to systematically evaluate and integrate the caregiving experiences of adult children providing care for an elderly parent with cancer. The search was conducted in the databases Web of Science, PubMed, Embase, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, Grew Literature in the Health Sciences, CNKI, WanFang Data, VIP, SINOMED and China Academic Journals as well as Chinese grey literature databases (China Academic Conference Literature Database/中国学术会议文献数据库, National Science and Technology Library) from inception to June 9, 2021. Thirteen studies were included in the final synthesis. The caregiver experiences they describe are synthesised into three primary themes: care needs, care burden and care gains, with numerous secondary themes. Besides our findings that seem to align with those from studies focused on other cultures, we have highlighted three main discoveries from the synthesis that stand out in the Chinese context: (1) many sub‐themes related to specific caregiving skills; (2) a strong expectation for health professionals to improve their communication skills with family caregivers; (3) the negative and positive influences of filial piety in caregiving experiences. Our findings can help multidisciplinary healthcare teams in China support adult children as caregivers in their emphasis on improving caregiver education and training, ways of making the most of potential care gains, and ways of easing care burdens. Background: SNGH14 is a newly discovered long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) highly associated with tumorigenesis. However, whether the level of SNHG14 is related to the prognosis of patients with different cancer types is unclear. Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase were searched to identify eligible studies from inception to November 2021. The odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were utilized to analyze dichotomous variables, while the hazard ratio (HR) and 95% CI were used for survival outcomes. We also included trial sequential analysis (TSA) to assess whether the current evidence was sufficiently conclusive. Stata 15.0 and TSA 0.9 software were used for data analyses. Results: A total of 21 studies involving 1,080 patients, mainly from China, were included. Our results revealed that high SNHG14 expression was associated significantly with poor overall survival (OS) [HR = 1.39; 95% CI: (1.06--1.83); p = 0.017]. In addition, elevated SNHG14 expression was related to tumor size (> 3.5 cm) [OR = 1.60; 95% CI: (1.20--2.14); p = 0.001], TNM staging [OR = 0.54; 95% CI: (0.40--0.71); p < 0.001], lymph node metastasis [OR = 1.86; 95% CI: (1.35--2.55); p < 0.001], differentiation grade [OR = 1.95; 95% CI: (1.36--2.80); p < 0.001], and distant metastasis [OR = 2.44; 95% CI: (1.30--4.58); p = 0.005]. However, no significant difference was observed between age [OR = 0.98; 95% CI: (0.72--1.35); p = 0.915] and gender [OR = 0.98; 95% CI: (0.72--1.35); p = 0.915] from the enhanced expression of SNHG14. Background. Cancer palliative care is recommended by guidelines for patients with early stage of cancer. Unlike the Western countries, in mainland China, cancer patients receive specialist-led cancer palliative care. Nurse-led cancer palliative care (NUC) is not well established yet. Objectives. To compare the clinical outcome measures, quality of life and symptom distress in patients suffering from cancer who received NUC with the same results in patient who received consulting oncologist-led cancer palliative care (ONC). Materials and methods. The study was a chart review of a database of patients suffering from cancer. Data regarding clinical outcome measures, quality of life and symptom distress of patients suffering from cancer who were receiving chemotherapy and NUC (NUC cohort, n = 185) or ONC (ONC cohort, n = 170) were collected and analyzed. One oncologist or 1 nurse was involved in treating 1 patient during the patient's hospital visit. Each visit took 30 min. The Chinese version of the Symptom Distress Scale was used for the evaluation of the degree of symptom distress. The simplified Chinese version of the European Organization for Research and Treatment Quality of Life Questionnaire (the EORTC QLQ-C30) v. 3.0 was used for evaluation of the quality of life. Results. Female patients preferred NUC (p < 0.0001). The pain intensity (4.13 ±1.71 compared to 3.35 ±1.01, p < 0.0001), dyspnea (3.89 ±1.48 compared to 2.82 ±0.97, p < 0.0001), constipation (3.56 ±1.78 compared to 3.06 ±1.89, p = 0.0107), and degree of symptom distress (38.09 ±7.26 compared to 35.05 ±7.92, p = 0.0002) were reported higher among patients from the ONC cohort than among those from the NUC cohort. Patients from the NUC cohort reported a better quality of life than those from the ONC cohort (70.41 ±13.62 compared to 45.63 ±7.94, p < 0.0001). Conclusions. Simple Summary: Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is a rare endocrine malignancy with poor outcomes. Surgery remains the mainstay of PC treatment. However, due to the rarity of this malignancy, the optimal extent of PC surgery remains inconclusive, including whether to perform central lymph node dissection (LND). In the present study, we reported the patterns and predictors of cervical lymph node metastasis in PC based on a cohort of 68 PC patients. The results showed that the percentage of cervical lymph node metastasis in PC was 19.4% at initial surgery and 25.0% including reoperations for recurrencies. High-risk Schulte staging and CDC73 abnormalities were identified as risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis. Central LND should be considered during remedial surgeries performed after previous local resection of PC for patients with high risk factors. The significance of cervical lymph node dissection (LND) for PC remains inconclusive. Methods: PC patients diagnosed at Peking Union Medical College Hospital between 1992 and 2021 were reviewed retrospectively. Clinical data, initial tumor histological staging, parafibromin histochemical staining results, Ki67 index, CDC73 gene mutation status and outcome information were collected systemically. The risk factors for recurrence and lymph node or distant metastasis were explored. Results: Sixty-eight PC patients receiving LND were enrolled. Cervical lymph node metastasis was identified in 19.4% of patients at initial surgery and 25.0% of patients including reoperations for recurrences. The independent risk factor for PC recurrence was a Ki67 index ≥ 5% (HR4.41, 95% confidence interval (CI)1.30–14.95, p = 0.017). Distant metastasis was an independent prognostic factor for PC patient overall survival (HR 5.44, 95% CI 1.66–17.82, p = 0.005). High-risk Schulte staging (p = 0.021) and CDC73 abnormalities (p = 0.012) were risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis. Conclusion: Most PCs were slow-growing, but lymph node metastasis was not rare. Background: N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is crucial in cancer and is being intensively studied. Aim: This bibliometric analysis seeks a broad picture of the role of m6A in cancer to guide and broaden future research. Methods: Publications were retrieved from Web of Science Core Collection and PubMed from 2000 to 2021, with keywords 'm6A' and 'cancer', and analyzed in biblioshiny and VOSviewer. Results: A total of 1013 documents were included, and China and the USA were the top countries with close collaboration. Mechanisms and predictive biomarkers of m6A regulator genes were highlighted. Cross-integration of m6A and other research hot spots, including 'immunotherapy', 'hypoxia' and 'polymorphism', were frontiers of m6A in cancer. Two genetic variants that alter alcohol metabolism, ALDH2‐rs671 and ADH1B‐rs1229984, can modify oesophageal cancer risk associated with alcohol consumption in East Asians, but their associations with other cancers remain uncertain. ALDH2‐rs671 G>A and ADH1B‐rs1229984 G>A were genotyped in 150 722 adults, enrolled from 10 areas in China during 2004 to 2008. After 11 years' follow‐up, 9339 individuals developed cancer. Cox regression was used to estimate hazard ratios (HRs) for site‐specific cancers associated with these genotypes, and their potential interactions with alcohol consumption. Overall, the A‐allele frequency was 0.21 for ALDH2‐rs671 and 0.69 for ADH1B‐rs1229984, with A‐alleles strongly associated with lower alcohol consumption. Among men, ALDH2‐rs671 AA genotype was associated with HR of 0.69 (95% confidence interval: 0.53‐0.90) for IARC alcohol‐related cancers (n = 1900), compared to GG genotype. For ADH1B‐rs1229984, the HRs of AG and AA vs GG genotype were 0.80 (0.69‐0.93) and 0.75 (0.64‐0.87) for IARC alcohol‐related cancers, 0.61 (0.39‐0.96) and 0.61 (0.39‐0.94) for head and neck cancer (n = 196) and 0.68 (0.53‐0.88) and 0.60 (0.46‐0.78) for oesophageal cancer (n = 546). There were no significant associations of these genotypes with risks of liver (n = 651), colorectal (n = 556), stomach (n = 725) or lung (n = 1135) cancers. Among male drinkers, the risks associated with higher alcohol consumption were greater among ALDH2‐rs671 AG than GG carriers for head and neck, oesophageal and lung cancers (Pinteraction <.02). Among women, only 2% drank alcohol regularly, with no comparable associations observed between genotype and cancer. Objective: China is a developing country with urban-rural disparities and accelerating population aging. Therefore, quantifying the effects of population aging on the cancer mortality burden is urgently needed. Methods: Using data from China's death surveillance datasets (2004-2017), we decomposed and quantified the effects of population aging and factor variations on cancer mortality rates in urban and rural China during 2004-2017 through a decomposition method. R ratios were used to assess the extent of the mortality decreases attributable to factor variations offsetting the increases attributable to population aging for 4 aging-related cancers (lung, colorectal, esophageal, and stomach cancer). Results: Overall, population aging has led to continued increases in cancer mortality rates in China during 2004-2017 (mortality rates attributable to population aging: 8.63/100,000 for urban men, 4.21/100,000 for urban women, 11.95/100,000 for rural men, and 5.66/100,000 for rural women). The 4 cancers displayed 3 patterns. The mortality rates from lung cancer in rural China and from colorectal cancer nationwide increased because of both population aging and factor variations. Population aging was primarily responsible for the growing mortality due to lung cancer in urban areas. However, for esophageal and stomach cancer, the effect of population aging was not dominant, thus resulting in decreases in mortality rates. Conclusions: Health resource allocation should prioritize areas or cancers more adversely affected by population aging. The burden of cancer will continue to increase in the future, because of rapid population aging, but can still be offset or even reversed with enhanced cancer control and prevention. Background: A study conducted in China on patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) showed that cancer conferred a five times increased risk for needing intensive care admission and mortality; No data has yet been collected and published from the Philippines. Thus, the investigators conducted this substudy to determine the association of having a history of cancer with clinical outcomes among patients included in the Philippine CORONA Study. Methodology: Multi-center, retrospective cohort design Results: A total of 244 patients had a history of cancer, out of 10,881 COVID-19 hospital admissions. After adjusting for different confounding variables of interest, having cancer was significantly associated with a 75% increased odds of having severe/critical COVID-19 at nadir (CI 95% 1.32, 2.33; p < 0.001). After adjusting for different confounding variables of interest, having cancer was significantly associated with the following time-to-event outcomes: 72% increase in hazard of in-hospital mortality (CI 95% 1.37, 2.16; p < 0.001), 65% increase in hazard of respiratory failure (CI 95% 1.31, 2.08; p < 0.001), and 57% increase in hazard of being admitted to ICU (CI 95% 1.24, 1.97; p < 0.001). Background: Nondrug treatments are potentially beneficial for cancer patients. However, the effect of sleep on cancer-related fatigue (CRF) and quality of life (QOL) in cancer patients remains unclear. We conducted a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials to examine the efficacy of sleep in cancer patients undergoing treatment. Methods: The PubMed, Ovid, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases were searched to identify suitable studies. Stata 15.0 software was used for statistical analyses. Sensitivity analyses were conducted. Fourteen studies (6 in English and 8 in Chinese) involving 1151 patients were included in the meta-analysis. Ten, five, and six studies that assessed the effects of sleep on CRF, QOL, and quality of sleep, respectively, in cancer patients undergoing treatment were identified. Results: Sleep interventions significantly affected overall CRF (standardized mean difference (SMD) = −1.52, P < 0.01), overall QOL (SMD = 1.20, P < 0.01), physical fatigue (SMD = −0.66, P < 0.01), cognitive fatigue (SMD = −0.38, P = 0.015), and physical function (SMD = 0.64, P < 0.01). Comprehensive intervention measures focusing on sleep, sleep nondrug interventions, and interventions for ≥3 or <3 months affect CRF. However, no significant effects on emotional fatigue, emotional function, perpetual fatigue, depression, or quality of sleep were observed. Conclusions: Comprehensive interventions focusing on sleep are helpful for CRF. Sleep interventions may only affect physiological function and have no effect on emotional function, perpetual function, or sleep quality. Future research should focus on how to combine sleep interventions with psychological, social, cognitive, and emotional interventions and provide targeted comprehensive nursing measures to better improve CRF, sleep quality, and QOL. Background: The association between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and the incidence and mortality of cancer remain unclear, especially in Asian populations. Thus, this study was conducted to explore the relationship between OSA and the incidence and mortality of cancer in hospitalized patients. Methods: This retrospective cohort study evaluated inpatients from Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital for suspected OSA between January 2005 and December 2015. Cancer incidence, all-cause mortality, and cancer mortality and were determined using data from the hospital information system and Centers for Disease Control. Between-group comparisons were carried out by performing a chi-square test and analysis of variance. Kaplan–Meier analysis and the Cox proportional risk model were applied to investigate the association between OSA and cancer incidence and mortality. Results: Of the 4,623 hospitalized patients included, 3,786 (81.9%) patients were diagnosed with OSA. After a median follow-up of 9.1 years (interquartile range, 9.79–11.44), the incidence of cancer was 6.6% (251/3,786), with lung cancer having the highest incidence at 1.6% (60/3,786). The mortality rate of OSA patients was higher than that of non-OSA patients (16.83% vs.12.78%, p=0.008), but the relationship between apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), oxygen saturation less than 90% (TSat90), and cancer mortality was not statistically significant (p>0.05).The mortality rate for all types of cancer was 2.8% (105/3,786), with lung cancer having the highest mortality rate at 0.8% (32/3,786). The cumulative incidence of cancer in the severe OSA group was 8.2%, which was higher than that in the normal, mild, and moderate OSA groups (P =0.010). Further, the Cox proportional risk regression model showed a progressive enhancement in the risk of cancer incidence as the AHI increased (adjusted hazard ratio [HR]: 1.009 [95% confidence interval (CI): 1.003–1.016], P =0.005). Based on subgroup analysis, the risk of cancer increased as the AHI increased in patients aged <65 years (adjusted HR: 1.019 [95% CI: 1.007–1.031], P =0.002). In addition, the cancer incidence was significantly higher in the severe OSA group than in the normal, mild, and moderate OSA groups (adjusted HR: 2.825 [95% CI: 1.358–5.878], P =0.019). Conclusion: The incidence of cancer is higher in patients with OSA than in non-OSA patients and is significantly positively associated with the severity of OSA. Background: For children with cancer, the experience during treatment can be challenging. There is a limited number of studies on self-reported treatment experiences of younger Chinese children with cancer using qualitative methods. Objectives: This study aimed at exploring the experience of Chinese children aged 5 to 7 years during cancer treatment reflected through interviews and drawings. Methods: This study used a descriptive qualitative design with the technique of "draw-and-tell." Participants were enrolled from the pediatric oncology inpatient department of one national children's medical center in China. They were asked to draw a picture of "your feelings in the hospital." An inductive content analysis approach was used. Results: Twelve participants were enrolled (8 male, mean age 5.7 years). Four themes were established: (1) suffering from adverse treatment effects; (2) perceiving changed relationships; (3) being thankful for others; and (4) trying out coping strategies. Conclusion: Chinese children aged 5 to 7 years expressed multiple cancer treatment impacts. They appreciated others' support and had their own way to cope with treatment demands. The authors also extended the dynamic nature of using the "draw-and-tell" methodology. Study findings highlight the importance of inviting and hearing the voice of young children during their cancer treatment, with particular consideration of the influence of disease, treatment, child development, family dynamics, and culture. Background: Fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) is a significant issue for most cancer patients. Until now, a detailed investigation of the structure of FCR and the interaction among its constituent elements is lacking. This study aims to investigate the phenomenon of FCR by means of network analysis in Chinese cancer patients. Methods: This is a multi-center, cross-sectional study that included 996 cancer patients from southern China. All participants were assessed by the 7-item Chinese version Fear of Cancer Recurrence Scale (FCR-7). Multivariate logistic regression, and network analyses were conducted. Central symptoms (nodes) in the FCR network were identified. Results: Among the 996 patients, 543 (54.52%) reported moderate FCR, and 137 (13.76%) reported high FCR. Chemotherapy (OR = 2.954, P = 0.016), and childhood severe illness experience (OR = 2.331, P = 0.016) were positively associated with high FCR, while higher monthly income (OR = 0.403, P = 0.046) was negative associated with high FCR. The node #FCR2 (Worried/anxious about recurrence) was the most central node within the FCR network (Strength = 1.190), while node #FCR6 (Examining for physical signs) was the least central node (Strength = 0.373). The edge FCR1-FCR2 (" Afraid"-"Worried/anxious") was the thickest and most saturated edge in the network. After controlling for age and gender, an almost identical network was obtained with respect to edges magnitude and strength. Conclusion: Fear of recurrence is a frequently reported issue among Chinese cancer patients. Patients with chemotherapy and childhood severe illness experience were more vulnerable and should be particularly monitored. Compared to behavioral component (i.e., body checking, overscreening and overtreatment) and cognitive component (i.e., intrusions), emotional component (i.e., worry/anxious) is more central to identify FCR and might be potential targets for further interventions. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a new respiratory disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It started in China and spread quickly to all continents. This virus has changed the life style and the education system in many countries. As for other viruses, mathematical models have been rated as a useful tool to support the research on COVID-19. In this work, we develop a reaction–diffusion model to describe the within-host dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 in cancer patients. This model studies the interactions between nutrient, healthy epithelial cells, cancer cells, SARS-CoV-2 particles, and immune cells. The model incorporates the spatial mobility of the cells and viruses. The model includes parameters for measuring the effect of lymphopenia on SARS-CoV-2/cancer patients. We verify the basic features of the model's solutions including the uniqueness, nonnegativity and boundedness. We list all equilibrium points of the proposed model. We show the global stability and the local instability of the most meaningful equilibria. We display some numerical simulations to enhance our theoretical results. The results indicate that diffusion can have a clear effect at the beginning of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Background: Oral mucositis is a common complication after radiotherapy or chemotherapy in cancer patients. Oral mucositis can affect the patient's food intake and their confidence in treatment as patients are more likely to suffer severe pain, experience weight loss, encounter an interruption or change of cancer treatment plan, and are reported to have a reduced survival from the disease. Nutritional intervention is the primary nursing focus in patients with oral mucositis treated by chemoradiotherapy. Objectives: The current best practice implementation project aimed to establish best practice principles in nutritional interventions for patients with cancer treatment-related oral mucositis. Methods: This was an evidence-based audit and feedback project that used a three-phase approach at a public hospital in China. Phase 1 involved developing five evidence-based audit criteria informed by current best available evidence, and undertaking a clinical audit of current practice on 50 patients in the Department of Radiation Oncology of Nanfang Hospital using the JBI's Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System. Phase 2 utilized the Getting Research into Practice component of the Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System to identify barriers to compliance with best practice principles and developed strategies and resources to improve compliance. Phase 3 involved conducting a postaudit using the same sample size and audit criteria to re-evaluate compliance with best practice. Results: Baseline results showed that compliance rates were 0% for criteria 1 and 2, 76% for criteria 3 and 5, and 82% for criterion 4. The implementation of strategies, including establishing a multidisciplinary team with a dietitian, creating training and education programs for all staff and patients, utilizing a scale regarding diet to assess patients' current diet, and establishing a nutrition intervention nursing procedure to supervise implementation of the nutritional intervention for patients with cancer treatment-related oral mucositis, increased compliance with best practice, achieving compliance rates of at least 82% for all five audit criteria. Conclusion: The implementation of context-specific strategies improved compliance with evidence-based practice in the nutritional intervention for patients with cancer treatment-related oral mucositis. Sustainability of best practice is important, with further audits planned to evaluate the sustainability of these practice changes. Background: Increasing evidence indicates that nutritional status could influence the survival of cancer patients. This study aims to develop and validate a nomogram with nutrition-related parameters for predicting the overall survival of cancer patients. Patients and methods: A total of 8749 patients from the multicentre cohort study in China were included as the primary cohort to develop the nomogram, and 696 of these patients were recruited as a validation cohort. Patients' nutritional status were assessed using the PG-SGA. LASSO regression models and Cox regression analysis were used for factor selection and nomogram development. The nomogram was then evaluated for its effectiveness in discrimination, calibration, and clinical usefulness by the C-index, calibration curves, and decision curve analysis. Kaplan–Meier survival curves were used to compare the survival rate. Results: Seven independent prognostic factors were identified and integrated into the nomogram. The C-index was 0.73 (95% CI, 0.72 to 0.74) and 0.77 (95% CI, 0.74 to 0.81) for the primary cohort and validation cohort, which were both higher than 0.59 (95% CI, 0.58 to 0.61) of the TNM staging system. DCA demonstrated that the nomogram was higher than the TNM staging system and the TNM staging system combined with PG-SGA. Significantly median overall survival differences were found by stratifying patients into different risk groups (score < 18.5 and ≥ 18.5) for each TNM category (all Ps < 0.001). Conclusion: Our study screened out seven independent prognostic factors and successfully generated an easy-to-use nomogram, and validated and shown a better predictive validity for the overall survival of cancer patients.
