This study aims to explore the correlation between students' digital competence and indecision with the challenges they encounter during the online scientific writing assistance process amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Students faced multiple forms of hesitation, communication breakdowns, and missed opportunities for discussion during this process. The research findings target guidelines for writing scientific papers. Qualitative data was collected through an online survey of 100 students from public universities in Indonesia. The research instrument employed an online questionnaire distributed to students via the Google Forms application. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative and interpretive approaches based on the principles of content analysis. The results revealed that students experienced profound doubts and confusion when it came to organizing their thoughts while conducting research and writing scientific papers as final projects. This research suggests that students' digital intelligence alone is insufficient for accessing the information required by their intellectual intelligence in writing scientific papers. Purpose: This paper investigated whether a bank's popularity and depositors' fear of Google search volume could affect bank deposits and credit. Design/methodology/approach: The authors used two different quarterly data from Google Trends and banking data from 2012 Q1 to 2020 Q1. Based on available data, Google Trends data start from 2012. The authors exclude data after 2020 Q1 because the Covid-19 pandemic arguably increased the volume of Internet users due to shifting behavior to online activities. They merged and cleaned the data by winsorizing at 5 and 95 percentiles to avoid any outlier problems, reaching 74 banks in the sample. They used panel data estimation of quarterly data following Levy-Yeyati et al. (2010) and Trinugroho et al. (2020). Findings: The results show that a higher search volume of a bank's name leads to higher deposits. A higher search volume of depositor fear reduces deposits and credit. The authors also found that banks with high risk and a high search volume of their name have a significantly lower volume of deposits. Originality/value: To the best of the authors' knowledge, not many papers in banking and finance have used Google Trends data to gauge related issues regarding depositors' behavior. The authors have filled a gap in the literature by investigating whether the popularity of Google search and depositors' fear could impact deposits and credit. This study also attempted to establish whether Google Trends data could be a reliable source of information to predict depositors' behavior by using a Zscore to measure bank risk. Purpose: This paper explores the reasons why Indonesia must have legal regulations to provide protection and guarantees for health workers in carrying out the profession in overcoming corona virus disease (COVID-19). This paper also explains the legal regulations as the foundation for today's medical workers' protection. This paper also aims at providing an ideal legal construction that safeguards the rights and obligations of health workers in overcoming COVID-19. Design/methodology/approach: In this paper, the author used qualitative research methods with a socio-legal approach. The data were obtained through literature study and analysis of laws and regulations through the socio-legal method. Findings: Various challenges and professional risks taken by health workers in dealing with COVID-19 derive from several factors, such as shortage of personal protective equipment, ineffective implementation of informed consent from the patients and the negative stigma spreading in the community. Moreover, the current legal regulation has not particularly modulated the protection of health workers, relying only on available articles that are actually irrelevant to be applied in the COVID-19 pandemic. Research limitations/implications: This research is focused on problems faced by health workers in combating COVID-19 and law concessions to ensure their protection. Practical implications: The final results of this research will be useful for The House of Representatives (DPR), the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI) and the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) in establishing legal and regulatory construction for the protection of health workers in tackling COVID-19. Social implications: This research aims at strengthening legal protections for the health workers so that their rights and obligations are well guaranteed. Originality/value: This paper proposes an ideal legal construction for the protection of health workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is currently still not specifically and rigidly regulated, to realize a guaranteed and sustainable life for health workers. The governance of the street vendor economy has always been an important part of the social grass-roots governance. To stimulate the economy and ensure employment in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, the Chinese government's policy towards the street vendor economy has transitioned from prohibition to legalization. This paper traces the three distinct historical phases of China's economic policy concerning street stalls in the 21st century, shedding light on the resistance encountered during the process of legalization. Subsequently, it uses policy comparative analysis to explain the legislative transition and the underlying reasons for these changes in three major Chinese metropolises: Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing. The results show that the city's legislative turning and diversion strategies cannot achieve the expected effect. So the paper proffers suggestions for future policy-making. Purpose: This study aims to examine the joint impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the government response on the performance of Islamic and conventional banks. Design/methodology/approach: Data were collected from a sample of 94 conventional and 14 Islamic banks in Indonesia from March 2020 to September 2021. The system generalized methods of moments estimation is used to analyze the data. Findings: This study finds robust results regarding the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the positive effects of government responses to COVID-19 pandemic on bank performance in Indonesian banking. Moreover, in line with the rise in confirmed COVID-19 cases, a higher government policy responses index improves bank performance, both in conventional and Islamic banks. Practical implications: This paper highlights the importance of the government policy responses index to absorb the negative impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on banking performance. Purpose: This paper investigates the joint impact of COVID-19, alliances and digital strategies on bank lending. Additionally, this study examines whether the effect of COVID-19, alliances and digital strategies on bank loans depends on the types of banks. Design/methodology/approach: Using a sample of 92 commercial banks in Indonesia from March 2020 to September 2021, a fixed-effects model (FEM) was used to analyze data. Findings: This study provides robust results regarding the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on bank loans in Indonesian banking. Furthermore, it reveals that collaboration between banks and FinTech does not substantially influence bank lending, despite the rise in proven cases tending to reduce credit expansion. It emphasizes the importance of the development of mobile banking as part of digitalization in boosting loan bank expansion, and this finding is more noticeable in private and small banks. Practical implications: This study highlights some policy recommendations to improve bank lending during the COVID-19 period, particularly the role of new alliances and digital strategy in involving COVID-19 pandemic mitigation within a novel financial ecosystem. The Indonesian government has issued hundreds of regulations and policies to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. These various policies and regulations assess how a government responds, mitigates, and prevents systemic crises in its country. These decisions- and policy-making processes are largely determined by the country's unique socioeconomic and political landscape. This paper reviewed 875 regulations issued by the Indonesian government at the national level in 2020–2022 to determine which policies have the most direct social, economic, and health impact on the Indonesian population. We highlight social protection to explore the challenges and opportunities to respond future risk by taking benefit from progressive effort of the Indonesian government to protect all Indonesian populations with the priority of the most vulnerable groups. This paper aims to map out government policies and regulations in handling the pandemic and exploring the potential opportunities for adaptation to respond future risk. The study is based on expert group discussion and policy mapping. As one of the findings of the investigation, this paper discusses the interaction between large-scale and micro-scale social restriction and social protection policies, which are considered the foremost solutions for handling Indonesia's more severe economic crisis and facing current and future risks, including climate change impact. While social protection is one of the massive strategies to relieve economic impact to the most affected group, effectiveness and success are still challenges concerning data. This Viewpoint discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Indonesian government's response, on children and young people. By adopting a geographical and socio-spatial analysis the paper discusses the extent to which the response to the crisis has aggravated the detrimental impacts of the emergency on children. We argue that the government's decision to transition to the 'new normal' was premature, endangering marginalized children who have less power, weaker voices, and a lack of access to the necessary resources to protect themselves. The paper focuses on children's vulnerability and inequality during the crisis, and demands careful consideration for the governance of emergency response and recovery policies in the future. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted global mobility. 'Lockdowns' and travel bans have been used as control measures by international governments. Consequently, the ways that we use buildings have also been impacted by these actions. Thus, this paper explores the roles of heritage sites in a post-COVID-19 pandemic society. This research is part of the Urban Heritage and Community Resilience: Conservation, Tourism, and Pandemic project, and it employs methods such as semistructured interviews, participant observations, archival research, and focus group discussions (FGDs). This paper is based on semistructured interviews conducted with one hundred eighteen participants across ten popular heritage sites in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar, Indonesia. The findings confirm the debated claim in postdisaster studies asserting that some of these Acehnese heritage sites, especially those imbued with religious values, have become places of resilience. Specifically, during the pandemic, these sites have facilitated community resilience by helping people feel closer to God. For practising Acehnese Muslims, prayer at home is culturally acceptable, but praying at the mosque, which is one of the essential heritages of the Acehnese, has contributed to and strengthened the sense of community resilience. Therefore, visitation and participation in heritage sites that include experiencing the sense of place and conducting religious and cultural activities is integral to community resilience. The advent of COVID-19 in Asia has piqued interest for research and publication from the discipline of tourism and destination management. In order to assess how the pandemic affected both DQAs and recovery efforts, this study employed a methodology of systematic review. The review of a literature followed the PRISMA's protocol. The first screening extracted 165 papers from Dimensions and Lens web sources, which were further filtered according to their date of publication, publication type, keywords, publisher, and the relevance of the title. After the initial screening, from the preliminary articles which were retained for consideration, 60 met inclusion criteria. To identify the concurrency of topics, a consolidated spreadsheet was mapped using Vosviewer and Nvivo software. The mapping process identified three main topics: destination attributes, impacts, and recovery strategies. The study used descriptive Meta-ethnography approaches to further synthesize the data. It was observed that most of the articles reviewed were published between 2021 and 2022 and the majority use quantitative and qualitative methods. China contributed the majority of the articles while Indonesia and India contributed a significant number. Meta-ethnography synthesis revealed seven concepts related to each of the three main dimensions. The findings raise anxiety to revisit destination management practices and policies post-pandemic It underscored the significance of destination managers spending quality time in understanding, in order to transform destination performance as well as quality management practices and policies in the times of Covid-19. The focus on achieving life balance has been widely discussed in various aspects of human life after the COVID-19 pandemic. The increased stress level results from losing boundaries between work and other aspects of life due to the lack of physical and temporal limitations, causing an imbalance. As one of the world's furniture material producers, Indonesia needs to improve its design's quality for the export market. This paper discussed the solution of interior product design for the European export market as an activity that helps to address the imbalance of human life after the pandemic. The authors applied the Kelley design thinking method through the stages of empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. The wellness, sustainability, and home sweet home concepts were applied to the design as the emerging megatrends in Europe while also considering the sustainable global cultural and aesthetic aspects. Natural materials from Indonesia were applied with this consideration. The main focus of the design system is on the easy installation concept to achieve product shipping efficiency to the European market. Three designs are discussed in this paper, including the Rotan Storage Credenza, Multifunctional Lounge Chair, and Sisal Lounge Chair. The resulting designs are expected to solve the European market's problems after the pandemic. This paper reports on a teaching program for the Functional Grammar (FG) unit at an English Education Study Program of a state university in West Java Indonesia in 2020-2022. Three cohorts of pre-service teachers in semester six were involved in the program (38 students in 2020, 26 in 2021, and 36 in 2022). The teaching program was conducted online due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The report focuses on exploring students' understanding of Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) - FG in particular, and their ability to use SFL in text analysis. The study also addresses students' opinions on learning SFL through FG unit. The study used a qualitative case study design and the data were obtained from participant observations, a questionnaire distributed at the end of the teaching program, and analysis of students' essays on text analyses. In the interest of space, the paper will only present and discuss data from the questionnaire and three samples of student essays. The questionnaire data were analysed qualitatively using a thematic analysis of different aspects of the unit and SFL, and students' essays were analysed using SFL, especially theme, transitivity, and mood systems in lexicogrammar stratum. The data from the questionnaire indicate that all the students in all cohorts responded positively to the teaching program. Many students in each cohort said that learning FG is fun, enjoyable, interesting, and useful for both daily and academic life. They displayed a good understanding of SFL, including its basic principles, notions, and values - especially concerning their reading and writing improvement. The data from students' essays also reveal their ability to show how and why the text means what it does and to evaluate why the text is or is not effective for its own purposes. On this basis, it is recommended that SFL be introduced to Indonesian university students to enhance their literacy capacity and to Indonesian teachers to improve their teaching skills and their ways to develop assessment that is linguistically informed. Indonesia is attempting to rebuild the entire country's condition to the "New Normal" era during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the emerging technologies with significant potential for dealing with the crisis is Immersive Technology (ImTech). In Indonesia, there is a growing demand for immersive technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). The Indonesian government is actively prioritizing digitalization implementation in various sectors to stimulate a post-COVID-19 recovery. This study aims to map the current and potential future applications of ImTech in Indonesia about dealing with the "New Normal" following the COVID-19 pandemic. A systematic literature review (SLR) was used to analyze the publications for a thorough understanding of the existing ImTech applications in Indonesia. According to 50 papers, the ontology of current ImTech applications in Indonesia is produced, focusing on four sectors (medical, industry, tourism, and education). As indicated by the growth of "start-ups" relating to this technological application, Indonesia has enormous potential to adopt ImTech. The purpose of this paper was to reconstruct the practice of digital-based public service democracy, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is commonly assumed that service democracy places a high value on users and citizens. Furthermore, in the context of public services, democracy should be directed at the public, which includes all stakeholders with an interest in and a role in service delivery. This paper examined the findings of two previous research studies on digital public services in the era before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, based on this understanding. According to the findings of the analysis, the current digital public service democracy is still more focused on service users than on other stakeholders. A solution is proposed in the form of strengthening public service providers' human resources capacity as one of the keys to the success of digital public service democracy. Internalizing public service motivation, ethics, and culture must become a basic competency for civil servants providing digital services. This paper attempts to develop statistical modeling for air-conditioning analysis in Jakarta, Indonesia, during an emergency state of community activity restrictions enforcement (Emergency CARE), using a variety of parameters such as PM10, PM2.5, SO2, CO, O3, and NO2 from five IoT-based air monitoring systems. The parameters mentioned above are critical for assessing the air quality conditions and concentration of air pollutants. Outdoor air pollution concentration variations before and after the Emergency CARE, which was held in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic on July 3-21, 2021, were studied. An air quality monitoring system based on the IoT generates sensor data that is collected from a government-integrated data portal, and that can be analyzed statistically. There are two main types of ANOVA (Analysis of Variance): one-way (or unidirectional) and two-way, which are applied to the collected sensor data and hypotheses calculated using ANOVA. ANOVA one-way was found to be more effective for analyzing air quality condition data. During emergency CARE, the average concentrations of PM10, PM2.5, and O3 from the air quality monitoring system show values that have exceeded the standard Air Quality Index (AQI), while the concentrations of CO, NO2, and SO2 are still below the applicable AQI values. This paper examines the Indonesian government's policy response under the PEN (National Economic Recovery) programme aimed at assisting MSMEs during the COVID-19 crisis. The findings show that the scheme significantly benefited the enterprises. Credit restructuring and interest subsidy programmes offered critical assistance to the beneficiaries and improved their access to credit options. Moreover, the Productive Government Assistance for Micro Businesses (BPUM) initiative enabled the beneficiary enterprises to address emergency working capital needs required during the pandemic. However, this study also identifies several hurdles that reduced the effectiveness of the PEN programme. These challenges could have been overcome by striking a balance between banked and unbanked MSMEs, maintaining reliable databases for targeted recipients, and strengthening coordination between the various agencies involved. Purpose: Determining vulnerability and resilience is necessary to develop sustainable agribusiness. The purpose of this study is to clarify and understand the current condition and problems in the tea supply chain and to develop a framework on how to build a sustainable and resilient tea supply chain. Design/methodology/approach: This study is a case study analysis which develops an integrated framework to build a resilient tea supply chain. It evaluates and extends the current knowledge of Javanese tea by applying business process analysis to understand the situation. Findings: This paper develops an integrated and conceptual framework on how to build resilient supply chain by considering five broad factors: vulnerability analysis, assessment of assets, supply chain collaboration, control mechanism from government and outcome. Research limitations/implications: The framework provides a conceptual view but limited to field surveys in Central Java Province. This study could increase the general understanding of tea supply chain in Indonesia and its major problems and challenges. Practical implications: The framework also highlights different stakeholder's organizational constraints and issues, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Purpose: This study aims to examine the learning experiences of indigenous West Papuan students studying accounting in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach: A qualitative approach was taken with 25 indigenous accounting students at five universities in the region who shared testimonies of their online learning experiences. The interview data collected were analysed using initial and selective coding and then interpreted under several themes. Findings: The paper shows the personal, faculty and external challenges in indigenous students' learning activities during university closures because of COVID-19. The interrelated challenges included students' struggles to adapt their learning habits when using various online applications, difficulties in understanding how the faculty managed lectures, tutorials and evaluations without adequate access to learning materials, the lack of a learning infrastructure, issues with equipment, and obtaining internet data credits. Students' economic struggles and health issues exacerbated these challenges. While enduring various struggles and being frustrated about their future, all students expected a change in offline learning policies by the government to lessen their strict physical distancing. Research limitations/implications: The findings can inform the importance of integrating accounting students' learning challenges and needs into curriculum development. Originality/value: This study highlights the learning challenges of indigenous accounting students during the COVID-19 pandemic and how approaches to online learning need to consider the experience of these students. Digital transformation has many implications for society, not only positive, but also negative. Various crimes in the cyber world, including hoaxes and infodemics, are something that cannot be avoided. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the rise of hoax and infodemic news made the handling of Covid-19 in Indonesia more complex. Many people are victims of hoaxes which in the end take action against government policies related to Covid-19, such as reluctance to comply with health protocols and rejection of vaccination programs. This research contributes to studying the challenges of digital transformation in Indonesia, especially during the past Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this paper is a case study. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews from Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, literature studies, both from books, journals and scientific articles. The results of this study indicate that digital transformation has encouraged the growth of hoaxes and infodemics which have hampered efforts to deal with Covid-19. The Indonesian government needs to take structured actions in dealing with this hoax and infodemic, and make regulations to optimize the digital transformation process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to propose a new analytical framework in examining corruption from the social ontology perspective by using the Schatzkian practice theory to assess the interconnectedness among social practices constituting the social reality. Design/methodology/approach: This exploratory paper is part of the author's study to assess the complex corruption phenomenon in Indonesia from multiple perspectives to gain a better understanding of its nature and dynamics. By drawing from the existing literature on the Schatzkian practice theory, the COVID-19 pandemic and the corruption phenomenon, this study investigates the potential changes of the new constellation of practice-arrangement bundles within the social reality and how such changes may alter corruption practices in the future. Furthermore, this study also uses publicly available reports from several national and international agencies to explore possible future scenarios from the interconnectedness of corruption, anti-corruption and pandemic practices. This paper constructs a new analytical framework for assessing the corruption phenomenon and designing the most appropriate anti-corruption strategy from such an exploration. The framework also serves as a reference for future anti-corruption research. Findings: The author establishes that all social phenomena are constructed by an interconnected, dynamic and ever-changing constellation of practice-arrangement bundles within the social reality. As a largely social phenomenon (at least in Indonesia), corruption is also constructed by webs of practice-arrangement bundles. For decades, corruption practices in Indonesia have always been interconnected with anti-corruption practices in ways that changes in one group of practices will drive changes in the others. With the adoption of the pandemic practices centered around social distancing, social restriction and social safety net, corruption practices appear to transform to adapt to the new environment. Therefore, future anti-corruption research should aim to examine the structure and dynamics of corruption, anti-corruption and pandemic practices to highlight changes or potential changes within the three groups of practices to determine the most appropriate intervention measures and anti-corruption strategy. Research limitations/implications: This exploratory study is self-funded and relies primarily on documentary analysis to explore the corruption phenomenon in Indonesia. Future studies will benefit from in-depth interviews with former corruption offenders and corruption investigators. Practical implications: This exploratory paper contributes to developing a sound corruption prevention strategy by proposing a new analytical framework for assessing various social practices, particularly those associated with corruption and the COVID-19 pandemic. Purpose: Zakat during the COVID-19 outbreak has played a vital role and has been significantly discussed in the virtual environment. Such information about zakat in the virtual world creates unstructured data, which contains important information and knowledge. This paper aims to discover knowledge related to zakat administration during the pandemic from the information in a virtual environment. Furthermore, the discussion is contextualised to the socio-economic debates. Design/methodology/approach: This is a qualitative study operated via text mining to discover knowledge of zakat administration during the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Board of Zakat Republic of Indonesia (BAZNAS RI) is selected for a single case study. This paper samples BAZNAS RI's situation report on COVID-19 from its virtual website. The data consists of 40 digital pages containing 19,812 characters, 3,004 words and 3,003 white spaces. The text mining analytical steps are performed via RStudio. The following R packages, networkD3, igraph, ggraph and ggplot2 are used to run the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) for topic modelling. Findings: The machine learning analysis via RStudio results in the 16 topics associated with the 3 primary topics (i.e. Education, Sadaqah and Health Services). The topic modelling discovers knowledge about BAZNAS RI's assistance for COVID-19 relief, which may help the readers understand zakat administration in times of the pandemic from BAZNAS RI's virtual website. This finding may draw the theory of socio-economic zakat, which explains that zakat as a religious obligation plays a critical role in shaping a Muslim community's social and economic processes, notably during the unprecedented times of COVID-19. Research limitations/implications: This study uses data from a single zakat institution. Thus, the generalisation of the finding is limited to the sampled institution. Practical implications: This research is both theoretically and practically important for academics and industry professionals. This paper contributes to the novelty in performing text mining via R in gaining knowledge about the recent zakat administration from a virtual website. The finding of this study (i.e. the topic modelling) is practically essential for zakat stakeholders to understand the contribution of zakat in managing the COVID-19 impacts. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Indonesia, the Indonesian film industry has experienced stagnation in production and exhibition. Due to their affordability, alternative screening venues can drive the wheels of the Indonesian film industry forward. The purpose of this paper is to examine blue economy that affects fishery production through sustainable fisheries development. The approach used this study was mix method, namely, quantitative and the sample were obtained from 150 respondents comprising Fishermen's Cooperative at Banten Province in Indonesia. This structural equation modelling used to analyze the data via Smart PLS 3.0. Findings from this paper revealed that the blue economy contribute to increase sustainable fisheries development and fishery production. whereas, sustainable fisheries development factors, namely, institutional, socio-economy and community sustainable give contribute of fishery production, only ecological sustainable as exception. The practical implication appropriate blue economy and sustainable fisheries development can enhance fishery production at fishermen's cooperative. Purpose: In examining an economic fluctuation, researchers often refer to the theories of impaired access to capital which mostly explain, from the perspective of bank lending supplies, a shock in firm's access to investment would decrease its capital expenditures and net debt issuance during crisis period. However, some studies show that this is not always the case. A demand shock theory can explain the decrease in firm's capital expenditures and net debt issuance during crisis period, but there should be no causal link between the two. This is because firms naturally do not invest during crisis period because of a decrease in investment wealth during crisis period. This paper aims to examine these theories with respect to the Covid-19 crisis in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach: The change in firms' capital expenditure and net debt issuance is analyzed using a non-parametric difference-in-difference and matching estimator across four firm-dimensions to see whether the implications of the supply shock theory apply to the current crisis or if that firms naturally do not invest during the crisis. In addition, this paper provides the result of panel regression to confirm the causal link between firms' investment funds and capital expenditure, with an addition of consumer confidence index to accommodate the implications of the demand shock theory. Findings: The results of this paper show that the implications of the supply shock theory cannot explain the economic fluctuation during the Covid-19 crisis. Rather, the results suggest that firms naturally do not want to invest during the crisis and that the demand shock can better explain the economic fluctuation during the Covid-19 crisis. This is confirmed by the result of panel regression which shows that only consumer confidence index has a significant positive relationship with firms' capital expenditure. This study explores the extent of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (UN SDGs) implementations by listed companies in Indonesia. It also evaluates whether the SDG practices differ between state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and private companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The main contributions of this paper are twofold: (1) it compares SGD reports and disclosures of listed SOEs vis-à-vis listed private companies in a developing country, and (2) it evaluates and compares the SGDs disclosures before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thirty-four listed companies produced sustainability reports consecutively from 2016 to 2020, resulting in 170 reports were used and analyzed in this study. A content analysis was applied to observe the SDGs disclosures in these reports. The findings show that overall, the listed companies in the study performed moderately well in their SDGs practice, with an overall disclosure index of 74% during the observed period. While a private company was a clear leader in its SDGs disclosure, overall, listed SOEs performed better to some extent than their private companies counterparts at a combined level. These indicate some aspect of legitimacy to maintain a good reputation in the community and also implies some level of coercive isomorphism, especially for the SOEs. At the level of sustainable development targets, however, the study finds indications to strongly propose that the achievements of the SDG targets were not yet significant. This study also finds slightly less but no significant difference in the SDGs practice during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to the practice before the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings of this study contribute to enriching the currently limited literature in this area and providing insights to relevant users, investors, and policymakers concerning the UN SDGs practices in Indonesia. Working from home as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19 has extensively impacted the mental health of academics worldwide. Interviewing 73 Indonesian academics who are also mothers, the current article investigates key impacts of mental distress among them during enforced remote working in the country, and how they encountered sociocultural stressors at home. This study found that the primary triggers for their mental distress included a problematic transition from office-based to home-based work, feelings of helplessness at home, and the use of multiple learning technologies at home. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) throughout the world are facing a very complicated crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic and other structural challenges. This study is aimed at demonstrating the challenges faced by SMEs, particularly the struggles that women entrepreneurs of SMEs in Indonesia experienced to survive against these structural issues: COVID-19, digital presence and the male-dominated business sector in the country. Focusing on female-owned businesses in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, this paper carefully considers how social media platforms helped these businesses to continue. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, we collected data from 130 respondents and found that the COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected women entrepreneurs—especially those operating small and medium enterprises. They have experienced reduced income due to decreased sales, disrupted supply chains, difficulty paying credit instalments, and lack of access to government assistances. This study further sheds light on social media's important role in sustaining women-owned businesses. Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram have become the new tools through which women promote their products and reach new audiences. To overcome this issue, we advise a stronger government intervention to women-owned SMEs in the post-pandemic. Aside from managing social media for selling, we recommend women-owned small companies to internally intensify digital engagement, promotions, coupled by innovative products and attractive offers such as discounts. Indonesia was one of the countries that successfully survived the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has provided good lessons, especially in the education sector, and it has provided new ways of overcoming problems in education, especially in art and design. In this paper, I will share experiences related to Personal Learning Services based on gamification and the implementation of immersive learning based on Augmented Reality, which was developed at the Department of Art and Design at the State University of Malang in Indonesia. This research was developed for primary education students in Indonesia, especially in Malang City, East Java. The contribution for this article was as follows: 1) developed some research to solve the learning problem impact of COVID-19; 2) with the software, media, and game specialization group in the art design department conducted several studies in the form of Personal Learning Services and immersive learning. In the discussion of Personal Learning Services based on gamification, the study aims to improve the quality of children’s characters by displaying background designs in several main locations in Malang. This research includes several minigames that attempt to increase children’s discipline, routine, and consistency. Related to implementing immersive learning based on Augmented Reality, is research to introduce characters in wayang panji to children. This study develops Augmented Reality technology without markers to make it easier for users to learn without fear of losing the marker, which has been a problem in AR. The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to higher education. This paper explores the challenges Indonesian female academics encountered during the pandemic in which the boundaries between home and work were further blurred. Accordingly, the gender gap was further widened as unpaid and unacknowledged academic and domestic work disproportionately affected women. This paper draws on data gathered from survey, diary studies and in-depth interviews with female academics in the social sciences and humanities. It examines how Indonesian female academics juggled domestic and professional work at home, caring duties both at home and work, and shouldering administrative workloads. In addition, findings reveal that female academics found new meanings in their academic work and the importance of caring and collective solidarity, especially in a crisis such as the pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic has led to various health, economic, and environmental problems. Waste management is one of the environmental problems that have emerged during this pandemic. Countries worldwide are trying to overcome the increase in the quantity and type of waste during the pandemic, such as disposable masks, face shields, and gloves, whether from households, commercial areas, or quarantine homes. Then there is also much medical waste sourced from health service places and places where people do swab testing and Covid-19 vaccinations. Moreover, there are other problems like increasing plastic waste from food consumption in the household during work and school activities from home. These waste problems add to the complexity of waste management, especially in developing countries which still needs improvement in their law and policy, technology, capacity, and legal awareness of the community in waste management. An interesting legal phenomenon during the Covid-19 pandemic is the widespread use of soft laws in the form of protocols, circulars, instructions, and appeals. This paper aims to study various forms of soft law used by the Government of Indonesia to manage Covid waste and analyze their compliance with national laws. This paper consists of two main parts: describing the trends in the use of soft law in waste management during the Covid-19 pandemic, and an analysis of the relationship between "hard law" and "soft law" in handling COVID-19 waste. The development of information technology pushed the economic ecosystem toward digital. The convenience provided in online shopping through e-commerce has increased the number of trades in Indonesia. Currently, economic activities are not only carried out domestically but also occur in non-domestic trade. This digitalization brings high competitiveness to domestic and non-domestic business actors. This paper aims to convey that the Green Economy policy is a solution to increase the acceleration of economic recovery in Indonesia post Covid-19 pandemic. The paper is used for normative juridical research. According to Indonesia's economic records, online trade transactions grew in a positive direction during the Covid-19 pandemic, reaching 70 percent throughout 2020 and in 2022, Lazada reported 73% customers in Southeast Asia see online shopping as a part of their daily life. If we see, although there is an increase, it is not significant. On this occasion, regulatory reforms are needed in order to help accelerate the Indonesian digital economy post the pandemic. However, this law is deemed insufficient so regulations and/or legal norms that specifically regulate digital trade are needed, especially regarding cross-border e-commerce. Besides, trade activities are closely related to monopolistic and unfair competition, so it is necessary to form binding agreements both within Indonesia and international countries to prevent any acts of abuse of international trade progress. The Covid-19 that has hit the world since the end of 2019 has had a considerable impact on the Indonesian economy, especially on business people. This paper considers how businesses in Indonesia could benefit from implementing a Retail Direct Order (RDO) process to respond to social changes, particularly restrictions on movement, brought about by the pandemic. The paper first reviews the literature on supply chain management and logistics and the effects on them due to greater digitization of businesses, operational automation and globalization. It then proposes how RDO can assist businesses in Indonesia - especially department stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and non-store retailers - to adapt to the new business environment. As an active member country of the WHO's International Health Regulation and Global Health Security Agenda, Indonesia, the world's fourth‐most populous and largest archipelagic country has recorded the second‐highest COVID‐19 cases in Asia with over 1.8 million cases in early June 2021. This geographically and socially diverse country has a dynamic national and sub‐national government coordination with decentralized authorities that can complicate a pandemic response which often requires nationally harmonized policies, adaptability to sub‐national contexts and global interconnectedness. This paper analyses and reviews COVID‐19 public data, regulations, guidance documents, statements and other related official documents to present a narrative that summarizes the government's COVID‐19 response strategies. It further analyses the challenges and achievements of the country's zoonotic diseases preparedness and responses and lastly provides relevant recommendations. Findings are presented in four sections according to the Global Health Security Agenda capacities, namely epidemiological surveillance (detect capacity); laboratory diagnostic testing (respond capacity); data management and analysis (enable capacity); and the role of sub‐national governments. The COVID‐19 pandemic has been a catalyst for the rapid transformation of existing surveillance systems, inter‐related stakeholder coordination and agile development from the pre‐pandemic health security capacities. This paper offers several recommendations on surveillance, laboratory capacity and data management, which might be useful for Indonesia and other countries with similar characteristics beyond the COVID‐19 response, such as achieving long‐term health security, zoonoses and pandemic prevention, as well as a digital transformation of their governmental capacities.
