The article provides information on some businesspeople that helped build the city of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and describes the industrial and business district of the city. Banker, industrialist, and philanthropist Richard B. Mellon expressed his interest in residing in Pittsburgh in the long term to contribute to the business community. The blast furnaces and bridge facilities of the U.S. Steel Corp. are scattered up and down four rivers and at strategic areas in the immediate provinces. Of 200,000 industrial employees in 1928, the largest groups include Carnegie Steel, Westinghouse Electric, and Jones & Laughlin.
