The article reports that the July 2008 Group of Eight (G-8) Summit in Japan has proved to be U.S. President George W. Bush's most successful in terms of progress achieved on climate change, aid to Africa, and G-8 accountability measures. According to Reginald Dale, Center for Strategic and International Studies scholar, Bush has influenced the Europeans to accept some of his basic policies in relation to dealing with climate change.
