Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has caused a global pandemic. Known as COVID-19, it has affected billions of people worldwide, claiming millions of lives and posing a continuing threat to humanity. This is considered one of the most extensive pandemics ever recorded in human history, causing significant losses to both life and economies globally. However, the available evidence is currently insufficient to establish the effectiveness and safety of antiviral drugs or vaccines. The entry of the virus into host cells involves binding to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), a cell surface receptor, via its spike protein. Meanwhile, transmembrane protease serine 2 (TMPRSS2), a host surface protease, cleaves and activates the virus's S protein, thus promoting viral infection. Plant protease inhibitors play a crucial role in protecting plants against insects and/or microorganisms. The major storage proteins in sweet potato roots include sweet potato trypsin inhibitor (SWTI), which accounts for approximately 60% of the total water-soluble protein and has been found to possess a variety of health-promoting properties, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, ACE-inhibitory, and anticancer functions. Our study found that SWTI caused a significant reduction in the expression of the ACE2 and TMPRSS2 proteins, without any adverse effects on cells. This paper introduces a refractive index sensor based on Fano resonance, utilizing a metal–insulator–metal (MIM) waveguide structure with an Anchor-like cavity. This study utilizes the finite element method (FEM) for analyzing the propagation characteristics of the structure. The evaluation concentrated on assessing how the refractive index and the structure's geometric parameters affect its sensing characteristics. The designed structure demonstrates optimum performance, achieving a maximum sensitivity of 2440 nm/RIU and an FOM of 63. Given its high sensitivity, this nanoscale refractive index sensor is ideal for detecting hemoglobin concentrations in blood, and the sensor's sensitivity is 0.6 nm·g/L, aiding in clinical prevention and treatment. With a phenomenal amount of marine debris being retrieved from the coast and sea, an initiative to engage in marine debris recycling, particularly of plastic debris, has been on the governmental agenda in Taiwan in recent years. Consumers purchasing products made from marine debris is a critical driver behind this initiative. It is therefore important to understand the factors influencing consumers' purchase intentions towards these products. By employing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this paper aims to decode the factors and thereby infer potential measures to enhance consumers' purchase intentions for these specific products in Taiwan, where recycling marine debris is at the beginning stage. By conducting a questionnaire survey, the study collected a total of 392 valid samples and found that a high percentage of respondents had not heard of marine debris labels as well as having never bought products made from marine debris. In addition, by testing the hypotheses using binary logit regression, the study found that 'environmental attitude', 'perceived price', 'availability', and 'marine debris label' were the major factors that significantly influenced consumers' intentions to purchase these products. With a view to increasing market penetration of these products, this paper highlights the need to strengthen environmental education, subsidize manufacturers in the production of products, promote labels and enhance product availability, and enhance public participation in marine conservation activities. Temperature is vital in plant growth and agricultural fruit production. Litchi chinensis Sonn, commonly known as litchi, is appreciated for its delicious fruit and fragrant blossoms and is susceptible to stress when exposed to low temperatures. This study investigates the effect of two cryoprotectants that counteract cold stress during litchi flowering, identifies the genes that generate the cold resistance induced by the treatments, and hypothesizes the roles of these genes in cold resistance. Whole plants were treated with Bihu and Liangli cryoprotectant solutions to protect inflorescences below 10 °C. The soluble protein, sugar, fructose, sucrose, glucose, and proline contents were measured during inflorescence. Sucrose synthetase, sucrose phosphate synthetase, antioxidant enzymes (SOD, POD, CAT), and MDA were also monitored throughout the flowering stage. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs), gene ontology, and associated KEGG pathways in the transcriptomics study were investigated. There were 1243 DEGs expressed after Bihu treatment and 1340 in the control samples. Signal transduction pathways were associated with 39 genes in the control group and 43 genes in the Bihu treatment group. The discovery of these genes may contribute to further research on cold resistance mechanisms in litchi. The Bihu treatment was related to 422 low-temperature-sensitive differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs), as opposed to 408 DAMs in the control, mostly associated with lipid metabolism, organic oxidants, and alcohols. Among them, the most significant differentially accumulated metabolites were involved in pathways such as β-alanine metabolism, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon biosynthesis, linoleic acid metabolism, and histidine metabolism. These results showed that Bihu treatment could potentially promote these favorable traits and increase fruit productivity compared to the Liangli and control treatments. Shut-in after fracturing is generally adopted for wells in shale oil reservoirs, and imbibition occurring in matrix nanopores has been proven as an effective way to improve recovery. In this research, a molecular dynamics (MD) simulation was used to investigate the effects of wettability and pressure on nanopore imbibition during shut-in for a typical shale reservoir, Jimsar. The results indicate that the microscopic advancement mechanism of the imbibition front is the competitive adsorption between "interfacial water molecules" at the imbibition front and "adsorbed oil molecules" on the pore wall. The essence of spontaneous imbibition involves the adsorption and aggregation of water molecules onto the hydroxyl groups on the pore wall. The flow characteristics of shale oil suggest that the overall push of the injected water to the oil phase is the main reason for the displacement of adsorbed oil molecules. Thus, shale oil, especially the heavy hydrocarbon component in the adsorbed layer, tends to slip on the walls. However, the weak slip ability of heavy components on the wall surface is an important reason that restricts the displacement efficiency of shale oil during spontaneous imbibition. The effectiveness of spontaneous imbibition is strongly dependent on the hydrophilicity of the matrix pore's wall. The better hydrophilicity of the matrix pore wall facilitates higher levels of adsorption and accumulation of water molecules on the pore wall and requires less time for "interfacial water molecules" to compete with adsorbed oil molecules. During the forced imbibition process, the pressure difference acts on both the bulk oil and the boundary adsorption oil, but mainly on the bulk oil, which leads to the occurrence of wetting hysteresis. Meanwhile, shale oil still existing in the pore always maintains a good, stratified adsorption structure. Because of the wetting hysteresis phenomenon, as the pressure difference increases, the imbibition effect gradually increases, but the actual capillary pressure gradually decreases and there is a loss in the imbibition velocity relative to the theoretical value. Simultaneously, the decline in hydrophilicity further weakens the synergistic effect on the imbibition of the pressure difference because of the more pronounced wetting hysteresis. The bistatic Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) system can overcome the physical limitations imposed by the baseline of monostatic dual-antenna InSAR. It provides greater flexibility and can enhance elevation measurement accuracy through a well-designed baseline configuration. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with bistatic InSAR, having relatively low cost and high flexibility, are useful for mapping and land resource exploration. However, due to challenges including spatiotemporal synchronization and motion errors, there are limited reports on UAV-borne bistatic InSAR. This paper proposes a comprehensive method for processing data from small UAV-borne bistatic InSAR by integrating two-way synchronization chain signals. The proposed method includes compensation for time and phase synchronization errors, trajectory refinement with synchronized chain and Position and Orientation System (POS) data, high-precision bistatic InSAR imaging, and interferometric processing. Height inversion results based on the proposed method are also provided, which demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving the accuracy of interferometric measurement at calibration points from 0.66 m to 0.42 m. With the growing ecological crisis and consumer environmental awareness, there is a general recognition of the urgent need for the reform of the energy-intensive construction industry. Prefabricated construction has emerged as an effective approach to achieve energy conservation and environmental sustainability. The prefabricated rate is a critical indicator that comprehensively reflects the level of technology, which affects orders, costs, pricing, and partnerships. Moreover, given the highly decentralized nature of the construction industry, it is imperative to consider building materials' supply in the Prefabricated Construction Supply Chain (PCSC). Therefore, this paper investigates how the prefabricated rate affects consumer preferences and order allocation while designing a three-echelon PCSC under a single-supplier structure, two-supplier structure, and dual-channel structure. Two different channels, prefabricated component and non-prefabricated component, are distinguished by the prefabricated rate. This research not only provides pricing-oriented decision advice but also offers suggestions for channel selection among participants. The results show that the increase in consumers' preference for the prefabricated rate raises prices. Moreover, a moderate prefabricated rate is most beneficial. Comparing the three models, the supply chain performance of a two-supplier structure is better than that of a single-supplier structure if the prefabricated rate exceeds a certain threshold, while the dual-channel structure is the worst. Human noroviruses (HuNoVs) are a major cause of acute gastroenteritis, contributing significantly to annual foodborne illness cases. However, studying these viruses has been challenging due to limitations in tissue culture techniques for over four decades. Tulane virus (TV) has emerged as a crucial surrogate for HuNoVs due to its close resemblance in amino acid composition and the availability of a robust cell culture system. Initially isolated from rhesus macaques in 2008, TV represents a novel Calicivirus belonging to the Recovirus genus. Its significance lies in sharing the same host cell receptor, histo-blood group antigen (HBGA), as HuNoVs. In this study, we introduce, through cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), the structure of a specific TV variant (the 9-6-17 TV) that has notably lost its ability to bind to its receptor, B-type HBGA—a finding confirmed using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). These results offer a profound insight into the genetic modifications occurring in TV that are necessary for adaptation to cell culture environments. Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most frequent malignant tumors, and the mechanisms underlying the anti-ferroptosis of esophageal cancer cells are still largely unclear. This study aims to explore the roles of amplified protein kinase C iota (PKCiota) in the ferroptosis of ESCC cells. Cell viability, colony formation, MDA assay, Western blotting, co-IP, PLA, and RNA-seq technologies are used to reveal the roles and mechanisms underlying the PKCiota-induced resistance of ESCC cells to ferroptosis. We showed here that PKCiota was amplified and overexpressed in ESCC and decreased during RSL3-induced ferroptosis of ESCC cells. PKCiota interacted with GPX4 and the deubiquitinase USP14 and improved the protein stability of GPX4 by suppressing the USP14-mediated autophagy–lysosomal degradation pathway. PKCiota was negatively regulated by miR-145-5p, which decreased in esophageal cancer, and also regulated by USP14 and GPX4 by a positive feedback loop. PKCiota silencing and miR-145-5p overexpression suppressed tumor growth of ESCC cells in vivo, respectively; even a combination of silencing PKCiota and RSL3 treatment showed more vital suppressive roles on tumor growth than silencing PKCiota alone. Both PKCiota silencing and miR-145-5p overexpression sensitized ESCC cells to RSL3-induced ferroptosis. These results unveiled that amplified and overexpressed PKCiota induced the resistance of ESCC cells to ferroptosis by suppressing the USP14-mediated autophagic degradation of GPX4. Simple Summary: The STRIPAK (striatin-interacting phosphatase and kinase) complex and its central components, striatins (STRNs), have attracted significant interest with regard to the pathological development of diseases over the last decade, particular in the area of cancer research. Beyond their roles in regulating several oncogenic signalling cascades, the clinical relevance of the STRIPAK constituents has intensified research attention towards this supramolecular assembly. However, the complex nature of the complex poses research challenges, and our current understanding provides only a partial view of its functions. As a complex of phosphatases and kinases, its diverse signalling partners further complicate the precise determination of its roles within cancer development. Hence, further research is necessary to unveil and establish its significance as an emerging biomarker. This review consolidates the existing cellular and biological knowledge of STRNs and the STRIPAK members, while also highlighting their demonstrated clinical significance across various cancer types. The current research challenges and future perspectives are also discussed. Striatins (STRNs) are generally considered to be cytoplasmic proteins, with lower expression observed in the nucleus and at cell–cell contact regions. Together with protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), STRNs form the core region of striatin-interacting phosphatase and kinase (STRIPAK) complexes through the coiled-coil region of STRN proteins, which is crucial for substrate recruitment. Over the past two decades, there has been an increasing amount of research into the biological and cellular functions of STRIPAK members. STRNs and the constituent members of the STRIPAK complex have been found to regulate several cellular functions, such as cell cycle control, cell growth, and motility. Dysregulation of these cellular events is associated with cancer development. Importantly, their roles in cancer cells and clinical cancers are becoming recognised, with several STRIPAK components found to have elevated expression in cancerous tissues compared to healthy tissues. These molecules exhibit significant diagnostic and prognostic value across different cancer types and in metastatic progression. The present review comprehensively summarises and discusses the current knowledge of STRNs and core STRIPAK members, in cancer malignancy, from both cellular and clinical perspectives. Lithium–sulfur batteries (LSB) show excellent potential as future energy storage devices with high energy density, but their slow redox kinetics and the shuttle effect seriously hinder their commercial application. Herein, a 0D@2D composite was obtained by anchoring polar nano-TiO2 onto a 2D layered g-C3N4 surface in situ, and a functional separator was prepared using multi-walled carbon nanotubes as a conductive substrate. Due to their long-range conductivity, multi-walled carbon nanotubes make up for the low conductivity of TiO2@g-C3N4 to some extent. A lithium–sulfur battery prepared with a modified separator exhibited excellent long-term cycle performance, a good lithium ion diffusion rate, and rapid redox kinetics. The initial specific discharge capacity of the composite was 1316 mAh g−1 at 1 C, and a high specific discharge capacity of 569.9 mAh g−1 was maintained after 800 cycles (the capacity decay rate per cycle was only 0.07%). Even at the high current density of 5 C, a specific capacity of 784 mAh g−1 was achieved. After 60 cycles at 0.5 C, the modified separator retained the discharge capacity of 718 mAh g−1 under a sulfur load of 2.58 mg cm−2. In summary, the construction of a heterojunction significantly improved the overall cycle stability of the battery and the utilization rate of active substances. (1) Introduction: Claudin-9 (CLDN9) is a member of the claudin protein family, a critical transmembrane protein family for tight junctions that are implemented in the progression of numerous cancer types. The present study investigated the role that CLDN9, along with the subcoat proteins, Zonula Occludens (ZOs), plays in clinical breast cancer and subsequent impact on drug response of patients. (2) Methods: CLDN9 protein and CLDN9 transcript were determined and correlated with clinical and pathological indicators, together with the status of hormonal receptors. The levels of CLDN9 transcript were also assessed against the therapeutic responses of the patients to chemotherapies by using a dataset from the TCGA database. Breast cancer cell models, representing different molecular subtypes of breast cancer, with differential expression of CLDN9 were created and used to assess the biological impact and response to chemotherapeutic drugs. (3) Results: Breast cancer tissues expressed significantly higher levels of the CLDN9, with the high levels being associated with shorter survival. CLDN9 was significantly correlated with its anchorage proteins ZO-1 and ZO-3. Integrated expression of CLDN9, ZO-1 and ZO-3 formed a signature that was significantly linked to overall survival (OS) (p = 0.013) and relapse-free survival (RFS) (p = 0.024) in an independent matter. CLDN9 transcript was significantly higher in patients who were resistant to chemotherapies (p < 0.000001). CLDN9 connection to chemoresistance was particularly prominent in patients of ER-positive (ER(+)), Her-2-negative((Her-2(−)), ER(+)/Her-2(−) and triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs), but not in patients with HER-2-positive tumors. In Her-2-negative MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 cancer cells, loss of CLDN9 significantly increased sensitivity to several chemotherapeutic drugs including paclitaxel, gemcitabine and methotrexate, which was not seen in Her-2(+) SKBR3 cells. However, suppressing Her-2 using neratinib, a permanent Her-2 inhibitor, sensitized cellular response to these chemodrugs in cells with CLDN9 knockdown. (4) Conclusions: CLDN9 is an important prognostic indicator for patients with breast cancer and also a pivotal factor in assessing patient responses to chemotherapies. Her-2 is a negating factor for the treatment response prediction value by CLDN9 and negating Her-2 and CLDN9 may enhance breast cancer cellular response to chemotherapeutic drugs. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image change detection aims to detect changes with images of the same area acquired at different times. It has wide applications in environmental monitoring, urban planning and resource management. Traditional change detection methods for spaceborne SAR time-series images typically adopt a pairwise comparison strategy to obtain multi-temporal change information. However, this kind of method has the problem of losing the overall change information, which is time consuming. To address this problem, this paper proposes a new change detection algorithm for spaceborne SAR time-series data based on SAR-SIFT-Logarithm Background Subtraction. This algorithm combines the SAR-SIFT image registration technology with Logarithm Background Subtraction. The method first preprocesses the input time-series data with steps like noise reducing and radiometric calibration. Then, the images will be coregistered by the SAR-SIFT step to avoid mismatches-induced detection performance degradation. Next, the parts that remained unchanged throughout the time period are modeled with a median filter to obtain the static background. The change information is then obtained via the subtraction of background and CFAR detection and clustering. The proposed algorithm is validated using the Sentinel-1 GRD and PAZ-1 time-series dataset. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively detects the overall change information and reduces processing time compared to traditional pairwise comparison methods. CO2 sequestration in saline aquifers is one of the most potential sequestration modes, and saline aquifers are ideal sites for CO2 geological sequestration. After CO2 is injected into a saline aquifer, it will have a long-term complex geochemical reaction with the formation of minerals and water, and the minerals will undergo multiple reactions such as dissolution and reprecipitation. Therefore, an in-depth study of the geochemical reaction mechanisms between CO2 and formation minerals is of great significance to the accurate calculation and prediction of CO2 storage volume and the safety evaluation of long-term CO2 sequestration. In China, continental saline aquifers are widely distributed, whose mineral compositions and texture maturity are markedly different from those of the marine sedimentary basins in North America, and their stratigraphic environments are more complicated. The studies on the CO2–water–rock (mineral) still have many research gaps or insufficiencies, and there is no report on the dissolution mechanisms of individual minerals in the reaction. Taking one certain block of Daqing Oilfield, which is a typical continental deposit in China, as an example, we analyze the dissolution laws and four types of typical continental deposited minerals under the effect of CO2 and the change features of ionic compositions and pH of the formation water in the process of geochemical reaction. The research results indicate that CO2 has different dissolution degrees for the four types of minerals, among which, feldspar, as the main mineral in continental sedimentary formations, has the lowest dissolution rate. Furthermore, in terms of the water type (Na+-enriched NaHCO3) of the saline aquifer in the deep part of the continental deposit, feldspar can precipitate into the secondary minerals represented by dawsonite in the later stage, which can act as the potential minerals of carbon fixation to increase the CO2 mineralization storage volume in continental deposited saline aquifers. Insulin resistance is an important feature of metabolic syndrome and a precursor of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Overnutrition-induced obesity is a major risk factor for the development of insulin resistance and T2DM. The intake of macronutrients plays a key role in maintaining energy balance. The components of macronutrients distinctly regulate insulin sensitivity and glucose homeostasis. Precisely adjusting the beneficial food compound intake is important for the prevention of insulin resistance and T2DM. Here, we reviewed the effects of different components of macronutrients on insulin sensitivity and their underlying mechanisms, including fructose, dietary fiber, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, and amino acids. Understanding the diet-gene interaction will help us to better uncover the molecular mechanisms of T2DM and promote the application of precision nutrition in practice by integrating multi-omics analysis. Background: malaria caused by Plasmodium parasites remains a public health threat. The circumsporozoite proteins (CSPs) of Plasmodium sporozoite play a key role in Plasmodium infection, serving as an excellent vaccine target. Methods: using a self-assembled S60 nanoparticle platform, we generated pseudovirus nanoparticles (PVNPs) displaying CSPs, named S-CSPs, for enhanced immunogenicity. Results: purified Hisx6-tagged or tag-free S-CSPs self-assembled into PVNPs that consist of a norovirus S60 inner shell and multiple surface-displayed CSPs. The majority of the PVNPs measured ~27 nm with some size variations, and their three-dimensional structure was modeled. The PVNP-displayed CSPs retained their glycan receptor-binding function. A mouse immunization study showed that PVNPs induced a high antibody response against CSP antigens and the PVNP-immunized mouse sera stained the CSPs of Plasmodium sporozoites at high titer. Conclusions and discussion: the PVNP-displayed CSPs retain their authentic antigenic feature and receptor-binding function. The CSP-specific antibody elicited by the S-CSP PVNPs binds original CSPs and potentially inhibits the attachment of Plasmodium sporozoites to their host cells, a key step for liver invasion by the sporozoites. Drip tape layout and flow rate are crucial variables that impact the effects of drip fertigation. To investigate the influence of drip tape layout and flow rate on the soil water and nitrogen transport in summer maize in sandy tidal soil, field experiments were conducted for two years. Two drip tape layouts were set: one tape serving for two crop rows (N) and one tape serving for each crop row (E), with two levels of drip flow rate, i.e., high (2 L/h; H) and low (1.3 L/h; L). The results show that under the same drip tape layout, the lower the drip emitter flow rate, the more upright the shape of wetted soil volume. The maximum vertical and horizontal water transport distance under NL treatment was higher than that under NH, EH, and EL treatments. After surface drip fertigation, nitrate nitrogen accumulated near and at the edge of the wetted soil volume. In 2020, under NL treatment, nitrate nitrogen transported to a 55 cm soil layer, which was 22.22%, 71.42%, and 57.14% deeper than that under NH, EH, and EL treatments, respectively. In 2021, nitrate nitrogen could transport to a 60 cm soil layer in both NL and NH treatments. The maximum concentration of ammonium nitrogen was nearby the emitter. Under NL treatment, ammonium nitrogen was transported to 48 and 60 cm soil layers below the emitter in 2020 and 2021, respectively, which was deeper than that observed under NH, EH, and EL treatments. The soil inorganic nitrogen residue of the NL was lower than that of the NH, EH, and EL treatments. Compared with NH, EH, and EL treatments, the two-year maize yield under NL treatment increased by 11.09%, 13.47%, and 8.66% on average, respectively. NL treatment exhibited the highest water use efficiency and nitrogen fertilizer productivity. Therefore, NL treatment (one drip tape serving for two rows with 1.3 L/h flow rate) could promote the absorption of water and nutrients, reduce inorganic nitrogen residue, and to obtain high maize yield in sandy tidal soil. Designing high-performance materials for the detection or removal of toxic decomposition gases of sulfur hexafluoride is crucial for both environmental monitoring and human health preservation. Based on first-principles calculations, the adsorption performance and gas-sensing properties of unsubstituted phthalocyanine (H2Pc) and H2Pc doped with 4d transition metal atoms (TM = Tc and Ru) towards five characteristic decomposition components (HF, H2S, SO2, SOF2, and SO2F2) were simulated. The findings indicate that both the TcPc and RuPc monolayers are thermodynamically and dynamically stable. The analysis of the adsorption energy indicates that H2S, SO2, SOF2, and SO2F2 underwent chemisorption on the TcPc monolayer. Conversely, the HF molecules were physisorbed through interactions with H atoms. The chemical adsorption of H2S, SO2, and SOF2 occurred on the RuPc monolayer, while the physical adsorption of HF and SO2F2 molecules was observed. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), stemming from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has had a profound global impact. This highly contagious pneumonia remains a significant ongoing threat. Uncertainties persist about the virus's effects on human health, underscoring the need for treatments and prevention. Current research highlights angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and transmembrane protease serine 2 (TMPRSS2) as key targets against SARS-CoV-2. The virus relies on ACE2 to enter cells and TMPRSS2 to activate its spike protein. Inhibiting ACE2 and TMPRSS2 expression can help prevent and treat SARS-CoV-2 infections. Anisomeles indica (L.) Kuntze, a medicinal plant in traditional Chinese medicine, shows various promising pharmacological properties. In this study, ethanolic extracts of A. indica were examined both in vivo (250 and 500 μM) and in vitro (500 μM). Through Western blotting analysis, a significant reduction in the expression levels of ACE2 and TMPRSS2 proteins was observed in HepG2 (human hepatocellular carcinoma) cells and HEK 293T (human embryonic kidney) cell lines without inducing cellular damage. The principal constituents of A. indica, namely, ovatodiolide (5 and 10 μM), anisomlic acid (5 and 10 μM), and apigenin (12.5 and 25 μM), were also found to produce the same effect. Furthermore, immunohistochemical analysis of mouse liver, kidney, and lung tissues demonstrated a decrease in ACE2 and TMPRSS2 protein expression levels. Consequently, this article suggests that A. indica and its constituents have the potential to reduce ACE2 and TMPRSS2 protein expression levels, thus aiding in the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infections. Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) image classification has been an important area of research due to its wide range of applications. Traditional machine learning methods were insufficient in achieving satisfactory results before the advent of deep learning. Results have significantly improved with the widespread use of deep learning in PolSAR image classification. However, the challenge of reconciling the complex-valued inputs of PolSAR images with the real-valued models of deep learning remains unsolved. Current complex-valued deep learning models treat complex numbers as two distinct real numbers, providing limited assistance in PolSAR image classification results. This paper proposes a novel, complex-valued deep learning approach for PolSAR image classification to address this issue. The approach includes amplitude-based max pooling, complex-valued nonlinear activation, and a cross-entropy loss function based on complex-valued probability. Amplitude-based max pooling reduces computational effort while preserving the most valuable complex-valued features. Complex-valued nonlinear activation maps feature into a high-dimensional complex-domain space, producing the most discriminative features. The complex-valued cross-entropy loss function computes the classification loss using the complex-valued model output and dataset labels, resulting in more accurate and robust classification results. The proposed method was applied to a shallow CNN, deep CNN, FCN, and SegNet, and its effectiveness was verified on three public datasets. The electromagnetic wave transmitted by the millimeter-wave radar can penetrate flames, smoke, and the high-temperature field, and is the main sensor for detecting disaster victims in closed spaces. However, a moving target in the closed space will produce a considerable number of false detections in the point cloud data collected by the radar due to multipath scattering. The false detections lead to false trajectories generated by multi-target tracking filters, such as the labeled multi-Bernoulli (LMB) filter, which, therefore, leads to inaccurate estimation of the number of pedestrians. Addressing this problem, in this paper, a three-class combination of the clutter point clouds model is proposed: static clutter, non-continuous dynamic clutter (NCDC), and continuous dynamic clutter (CDC). The model is based on the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of the CDC sequence captured by a two-dimensional (2D) millimeter-wave (MMW) radar. However, in open space, CDC appears infrequently in radar tracking applications, and thus has not been considered in multi-target tracking filters such as the LMB filter. This leads to confusion between the CDC point cloud collected by the high-resolution radar in closed spaces and the real-target point cloud. To solve this problem, the impact mechanism of the LMB filter on prediction, update, and state estimation is modeled in this paper in different stages based on the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of CDC. Finally, a hybrid clutter model-based LMB filter (HCM-LMB) is proposed, which focuses on scenes where NCDC and CDC are mixed. The filter introduces the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of NCDC based on the original LMB filter, and improves the prediction, update, and state estimation of the original filter by combining the impact mechanism model and the new CDC prediction, CDC estimation, and false trajectory label management algorithm. Experiments were conducted on pedestrians in building corridors using 2D MMW radar perception. The experimental results show that under the influence of CDC, the total number of pedestrians estimated by the HCM-LMB filter was reduced by 22.5% compared with that estimated by the LMB filter. A novel solid-state neutron and gamma radiation monitor-dosimeter based on biopolymer polylactic acid (PLA) is presented. The resulting detector (PLAD) technology takes advantage of property changes of the renewable PLA resin when subject to ionizing nuclear radiation. A simple yet rapid and accurate (±10%) low-cost (<$0.01/detector) mass loss upon dissolution (MLD) technique was successfully developed; MLD is based on a simple mass balance for discerning neutron and/or gamma doses using small (40 mg, ~4 mm diameter) ultra-low-cost (<$0.01) resin beads via dissolution in acetone. The GammaCellTM Co-60 irradiator, and the PUR-1 12 kW fission nuclear research reactor were utilized, respectively. Irradiation absorbed doses ranged from 1 to 100 kGy. Acetone bath temperature was varied from ~40 °C to ~54 °C. Results revealed a strong dependence of MLD on acetone bath temperature between neutron and gamma photon dose components; this allowed for the unique ability of PLAD to potentially perform as both a neutron-cum-gamma or as a gamma or neutron radiation dosimeter and intensity level detector. A linear trend is found for combined neutron and gamma radiation doses from 0 to 40 kGy when dissolution is conducted above 50 °C. The important potential ability to distinguish neutron from gamma radiation fields was scoped and found to be feasible by determining MLD at 45 °C. The potential was studied for simultaneous use as an in-core neutron and gamma monitor of an operating 3 GWt light-water reactor (LWR). Scoping tests were conducted with the pre-irradiated (@ 20 °C) PLAD resin beads followed by heating to in-core LWR coolant (300 °C) conditions for ~30 s corresponding to the time to reach ~40 kGy total doses in a typical 3 GWt LWR. As the depth of petroleum drilling increases, the strata environment becomes more complex. The efficiency and lifespan of Polycrystalline Diamond Compact (PDC) drill bits fail to meet current drilling demands. However, the structure and arrangement of PDC cutters are valuable determinants of drilling efficiency, although related research still has gaps and deficiencies. This study focuses on PDC cutters in axe, triangular prism, and circular forms. It establishes an inhomogeneous granite model based on the actual measurements of granite and verifies the accuracy of this model through uniaxial compression simulation. Finite element models of three types of cutters in various combination schemes are constructed to examine rock-breaking effects, with the best scheme optimized using Box-Behnken response surface methodology. The rock-breaking process of the optimal PDC drill bit layout has been compared to that of a single cutter bit. Field drilling has demonstrated the effectiveness of a mixed cutter arrangement. The results show that the inhomogeneous granite model can be trusted. The optimal arrangement involves axe cutters in the front row and an alternate arrangement of triangular prism cutters and axe cutters in the back row. The optimal lateral and longitudinal distances for the triangular cutters from the front row of axe cutters are 10 mm and 7 mm, respectively, while those for the back row of axe cutters from the front row are 10.06 mm and 7 mm, respectively. The ROP standard deviation in the drilling process of mixed cutter bits decreases by 53.06% and 43.08% compared to axe and triangular prism cutter bits, respectively. The drilling efficiency increases by 16.8% and 16.6%, respectively, demonstrating higher efficiency and stability. Field drilling results indicate that a mixed cutter bit increases efficiency by 23.5% compared to a bit with only triangular prism cutters. This study posits that research on the combination schemes and parameters of PDC cutters can significantly enhance drilling efficiency, thereby reducing the drilling cycle and costs. Radar automatic target recognition (RATR) technology is fundamental but complicated system engineering that combines sensor, target, environment, and signal processing technology, etc. It plays a significant role in improving the level and capabilities of military and civilian automation. At present, deep learning algorithms have received a lot of attention and have emerged as potential and feasible solutions in RATR. This paper mainly reviews related articles published between 2010 and 2022, which corresponds to the period when deep learning methods were introduced into RATR research. Antibiotic resistance poses a growing risk to public health, requiring new tools to combat pathogenic bacteria. Contractile injection systems, including bacteriophage tails, pyocins, and bacterial type VI secretion systems, can efficiently penetrate cell envelopes and become potential antibacterial agents. Bacteriophage XM1 is a dsDNA virus belonging to the Myoviridae family and infecting Vibrio bacteria. The XM1 virion, made of 18 different proteins, consists of an icosahedral head and a contractile tail, terminated with a baseplate. Here, we report cryo-EM reconstructions of all components of the XM1 virion and describe the atomic structures of 14 XM1 proteins. The XM1 baseplate is composed of a central hub surrounded by six wedge modules to which twelve spikes are attached. The XM1 tail contains a fewer number of smaller proteins compared to other reported phage baseplates, depicting the minimum requirements for building an effective cell-envelope-penetrating machine. We describe the tail sheath structure in the pre-infection and post-infection states and its conformational changes during infection. In addition, we report, for the first time, the in situ structure of the phage neck region to near-atomic resolution. Based on these structures, we propose mechanisms of virus assembly and infection. Zinc finger and SCAN domain-containing 4 (ZSCAN4), a DNA-binding protein, maintains telomere length and plays a key role in critical aspects of mouse embryonic stem cells, including maintaining genomic stability and defying cellular senescence. However, the effect of ZSCAN4 in porcine parthenogenetic embryos remains unclear. To investigate the function of ZSCAN4 and the underlying mechanism in porcine embryo development, ZSCAN4 was knocked down via dsRNA injection in the one-cell stage. ZSCAN4 was highly expressed in the four- and five- to eight-cell stages in porcine embryos. The percentage of four-cell stage embryos, five- to eight-cell stage embryos, and blastocysts was lower in the ZSCAN4 knockdown group than in the control group. Notably, depletion of ZSCAN4 induced the protein expression of DNMT1 and 5-Methylcytosine (5mC, a methylated form of the DNA base cytosine) in the four-cell stage. The H3K27ac level and ZGA genes expression decreased following ZSCAN4 knockdown. Furthermore, ZSCAN4 knockdown led to DNA damage and shortened telomere compared with the control. Additionally, DNMT1-dsRNA was injected to reduce DNA hypermethylation in ZSCAN4 knockdown embryos. DNMT1 knockdown rescued telomere shortening and developmental defects caused by ZSCAN4 knockdown. Talaromyces purpurogenus, an endophytic fungus, exhibits beneficial effects on plants during plant–fungus interactions. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying plants' responses to T. purpurogenus under low-phosphorous (P) stress are not fully understood. In this study, we investigated the transcriptomic changes in maize with low-P-sensitive (31778) and -tolerant (CCM454) genotypes under low-P stress and its symbiotic interaction with T. purpurogenus. Its colonization enhanced plant growth and facilitated P uptake, particularly in 31778. Transcriptome sequencing revealed that 135 DEGs from CCM454 and 389 from 31778 were identified, and that only 6 DEGs were common. This suggested that CCM454 and 31778 exhibited distinct molecular responses to T. purpurogenus inoculation. GO and KEGG analysis revealed that DEGs in 31778 were associated with nicotianamine biosynthesis, organic acid metabolic process, inorganic anion transport, biosynthesis of various secondary metabolites and nitrogen metabolism. In CCM454, DEGs were associated with anthocyanin biosynthesis, diterpenoid biosynthesis and metabolic process. After T. purpurogenus inoculation, the genes associated with phosphate transporter, phosphatase, peroxidase and high-affinity nitrate transporter were upregulated in 31778, whereas AP2-EREBP-transcription factors were detected at significantly higher levels in CCM454. Inflammation of the fetal membranes is an indispensable event of parturition, with increasing prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) synthesis as one of the ultimate products that prime labor onset. In addition to PGE2, the fetal membranes also boast a large capacity for cortisol regeneration. It is intriguing how increased PGE2 synthesis is achieved in the presence of increasing amounts of classical anti-inflammatory glucocorticoids in the fetal membranes at parturition. 15(S)-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (15(S)-HETE) synthesized by lipoxygenase 15/15B (ALOX15/15B) has been shown to enhance inflammation-induced PGE2 synthesis in amnion fibroblasts. Here, we examined whether glucocorticoids could induce ALOX15/15B expression and 15(S)-HETE production to promote PGE2 synthesis in amnion fibroblasts at parturition. We found that cortisol and 15(S)-HETE abundance increased parallelly in the amnion at parturition. Cortisol induced ALOX15/15B expression and 15(S)-HETE production paradoxically in amnion fibroblasts. Mechanism study revealed that this paradoxical induction was mediated by p300-mediated histone acetylation and interaction of glucocorticoid receptor with transcription factors CREB and STAT3. Conclusively, cortisol regenerated in the fetal membranes can paradoxically induce ALOX15/15B expression and 15(S)-HETE production in human amnion fibroblasts, which may further assist in the induction of PGE2 synthesis in the inflammatory responses of the fetal membranes for parturition. In this study, we investigated the effects of different hydrogen bond types on the photophysical properties of diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (DHHB) by systematically exploring the changes in the spectral properties of DHHB in protic and aprotic solvents. The formation and stability of hydrogen bonds were also studied, demonstrating that the system mainly existed in the form of intramolecular hydrogen bonds at low concentrations (≤5 μg/mL). In these circumstances, the fluorescent intensity, and molar absorption coefficient changed little, indicating that the intramolecular hydrogen bonds had little effect on the spectral properties of DHHB. With an increase in concentration, the number of intermolecular hydrogen bonds increased and the molar absorption coefficient significantly increased, indicating that the intermolecular hydrogen bonds were conducive to improving the UV absorption properties of DHHB. With an increase in temperature, the molar absorption coefficient of the system decreased, which reduced the UV absorption performance of DHHB. In the protic solvent, the system also contained DHHB–solvent intermolecular hydrogen bonds. With an increase in the proportion of protic solvent in the system, the fluorescent intensity of the system significantly decreased, and the UV integral area significantly increased, indicating that the hydrogen bond between DHHB and the solvent molecules was beneficial in terms of improving the UV absorption performance of DHHB. The content of plant endogenous hormones could be influenced by fertilization, which play an important regulatory role in plant growth and yield formation. However, the effects of phosphate (P) application rates on the dynamical changes in the exogenous hormone content in maize plants to support high-yield production are still unclear. An experiment with six P application rates was designed (P1, 0 kg ha−1; P2, 20 kg ha−1; P3, 40 kg ha−1; P4, 60 kg ha−1; P5, 80 kg ha−1; and P6, 100 kg ha−1), aimed at determining the distribution or biosynthesis of phytohormones in maize roots and leaves, and clarifying the role of P fertilization in the formation of phytohormones. The results showed that P fertilization significantly increased the content of IAA, by 51.57%, and significantly decreased the contents of ABA and GA3, by 18.92% and 19.13% on average compared to P1. The highest increase in IAA was 99.02%, and the highest decreases in ABA and GA3 were 32.30% and 26.85%, respectively, in the P6 treatment in maize roots. Meanwhile, an increase in the IAA (41.34%), SA (27.58%), and GA3 (37.36%) contents and a decrease in the ABA (19.18%) content in maize leaves were observed. The highest increases in IAA, GA3, and SA in the P6 treatment in maize leaves were 57.5%, 62.50%, and 48.57%, respectively, and the highest decrease in ABA was 28.05%. Meanwhile, different contents of endogenous hormones in maize roots and leaves were observed at various maize growth stages. The maize phenotypes and soil available P content were increased with P application as well. A Pearson's correlation analysis showed that endogenous hormones were significantly correlated with maize phenotypes and yield. Our results confirmed that P fertilization could change the content of endogenous hormones in maize roots and leaves; P6 was the best treatment for improving the endogenous hormone contents in maize plants, P3 was the best for improving the maize grain yield. Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar (GBSAR) has non-contact, all-weather, high resolution imaging and microdeformation sensing capabilities, which offers advantages in applications such as building structure monitoring and mine slope deformation retrieval. The Circular Scanning Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar (CS-GBSAR) is one of its newest developed working mode, in which the radar rotates around an axis in a vertical plane. Such nonlinear observation geometry brings the unique advantage of three-dimensional (3D) imaging compared with traditional GBSAR modes. However, such nonlinear observation geometry causes strong sidelobes in SAR images, which makes it a difficult task to extract point cloud data. The Conventional Cell Averaging Constant False Alarm Rate (CA-CFAR) algorithm can extract 3D point cloud data layer-by-layer at different heights, which is time consuming and is easily influenced by strong sidelobes to obtain inaccurate results. To address these problems, this paper proposes a new two-step CFAR-based 3D point cloud extraction method for CS-GBSAR, which can extract accurate 3D point cloud data under the influence of strong sidelobes. It first utilizes maximum projection to obtain three-view images from 3D image data. Then, the first step CA-CFAR is applied to obtain the coarse masks of three-views. Then, the volume mask in the original 3D image is obtained via inverse projection. This can remove strong sidelobes outside the potential target region and obtain potential target area data by intersecting it with the SAR 3D image. Then, the second step CA-CFAR is applied to the potential target area data to obtain 3D point clouds. Finally, to further eliminate the residual strong sidelobes and output accurate 3D point clouds, the modified Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN) clustering algorithm is applied. The original DBSCAN method uses a spherical template to cluster. It covers more points, which is easily influenced by the strong sidelobe. Hence, the clustering results have more noise points. Meanwhile, modified DBSCAN clusters have a cylindrical template to accommodate the data's features, which can reduce false clustering. The proposed method is validated via real data acquired by the North China University of Technology (NCUT)-developed CS-GBSAR system. The laser detection and ranging (LiDAR) data are used as the reference ground truth to demonstrate the method. The comparison experiment with conventional method shows that the proposed method can reduce 95.4% false clustered points and remove the strong sidelobes, which shows the better performance of the proposed method. Prohibitin (PHB) is a tumour suppressor gene with several different molecular activities. PHB overexpression leads to G1/S-phase cell cycle arrest, and PHB represses the androgen receptor (AR) in prostate cancer cells. PHB interacts with and represses members of the E2F family in a manner that may also be AR-linked, therefore making the AR:PHB:E2F interaction axis highly complex. PHB siRNA increased the growth and metastatic potential of LNCaP mouse xenografts in vivo. Conversely, PHB ectopic cDNA overexpression affected several hundred genes in LNCaP cells. Furthermore, gene ontology analysis showed that in addition to cell cycle regulation, several members of the WNT family were significantly downregulated (WNT7B, WNT9A and WNT10B), as well as pathways for cell adhesion. Online GEO data studies showed PHB expression to be decreased in clinical cases of metastatic prostate cancer, and to be correlated with higher WNT expression in metastasis. PHB overexpression reduced prostate cancer cell migration and motility in wound-healing assays, reduced cell invasion through a Matrigel layer and reduced cellular attachment. In LNCaP cells, WNT7B, WNT9A and WNT10B expression were also upregulated by androgen treatment and downregulated by androgen antagonism, indicating a role for AR in the control of these WNT genes. However, these WNTs were strongly cell cycle regulated. E2F1 cDNA ectopic expression and PHB siRNA (both cell cycle promoting effects) increased WNT7B, WNT9A and WNT10B expression, and these genes were also upregulated as cells were released from G1 to S phase synchronisation, indicating further cell cycle regulation. The new mode of Circular Synthetic Aperture Radar (CSAR) has several advantages including multi-aspect and long-time observation, which can generate high-frame-rate image sequences to detect moving targets with a single-channel system. Nonetheless, due to CSAR being sensitive to 3D structures, static high targets are observed in scene display rotational motion within CSAR subaperture image sequences. Such motion can cause false alarms rising when utilizing image sequence-based moving target detection methods like logarithm background subtraction (LBS). To address this issue, this paper first thoroughly analyzes the moving target and static high target's difference for the trajectory in an image sequence. Two new trajectory features of the rotation angle and moving distance are proposed to differentiate them. Based on the features, a new false alarm suppression method is proposed. The method first utilizes LBS to obtain coarse binary detection results comprising both moving and static high targets, then employs morphological filtering to eliminate noise. Next, DBSCAN and target tracking steps are employed to extract the trajectory features of the target and false alarm. Finally, false alarms are suppressed with trajectory-based feature discriminators to output detection results. The W-band CSAR open dataset is used to validate the proposed method's effectiveness. Measuring the correlation between belief functions is an important issue in Dempster–Shafer theory. From the perspective of uncertainty, analyzing the correlation may provide a more comprehensive reference for uncertain information processing. However, existing studies about correlation have not combined it with uncertainty. In order to address the problem, this paper proposes a new correlation measure based on belief entropy and relative entropy, named a belief correlation measure. This measure takes into account the influence of information uncertainty on their relevance, which can provide a more comprehensive measure for quantifying the correlation between belief functions. Meanwhile, the belief correlation measure has the mathematical properties of probabilistic consistency, non-negativity, non-degeneracy, boundedness, orthogonality, and symmetry. Furthermore, based on the belief correlation measure, an information fusion method is proposed. It introduces the objective weight and subjective weight to assess the credibility and usability of belief functions, thus providing a more comprehensive measurement for each piece of evidence. One of the most popular edible mushrooms in the world, Flammulina velutipes, has been shown to possess pharmacological properties such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. However, the potential activity of the brown strain of F. velutipes, a hybrid between the white and yellow strains, has not been thoroughly investigated. Numerous studies have been conducted in recent years to determine whether natural products can aid in improving or treating kidney diseases. In this study, we focused on the renoprotective effects of the brown strain of F. velutipes on cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) in mice. Mice were pretreated with water extract from the brown strain of F. velutipes (WFV) from day 1 to day 10, with a single-dose intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin on day 7 to induce AKI. Our results demonstrated that WFV administration resulted in a reduction in weight loss and the amelioration of renal function and renal histological changes in mice with cisplatin-induced AKI. WFV improved antioxidative stress and anti-inflammatory capacity by increasing antioxidant enzymes and decreasing inflammatory factors. The expression of related proteins was determined via Western blot analysis, which showed that WFV could improve the expression of apoptosis and autophagy. We used the PI3K inhibitor Wortmannin and found that WFV achieved a protective effect by modulating the PI3K/AKT pathway and the expression of autophagy. Inappropriate spatial distribution of canopy and roots limits further improvements to the grain yield of maize with increased planting density. We explored an integrated management practice called strip deep rotary with staggered planting (SRS) which includes comprehensive technology for both canopy layers and topsoil. Here, field experiments were conducted under two maize cropping systems (spring maize and summer maize) to evaluate the effect of SRS on the spatial distribution of the canopy and roots for maize under high planting density (90,000 plants ha−1) and to determine the physiological factors involved in yield formation. Compared with conventional management practices (no-tillage with single planting, NTS), SRS decreased the LAI of the middle to top layers while improving the light distribution of the middle and lower layers by 72.99% and 84.78%, respectively. Meanwhile, SRS increased the root dry weight density and root sap bleeding by 51.26% and 21.77%, respectively, due to the reduction in soil bulk density by an average of 5.08% in the 0–40 cm soil layer. SRS improved the SPAD in the ear and lower leaves and maximized the LAD, which was conducive to dry matter accumulation (DMA), increasing it by 14.02–24.16% compared to that of NTS. As a result, SRS increased maize grain yield by 6.71–25.44%. These results suggest that strip deep rotary combined with staggered planting noticeably optimized the distribution of light in the canopy and reduced the soil bulk density to promote root vitality and growth, to maintain canopy longevity, and to promote the accumulation of dry matter, which eventually increased the grain yield of the maize under high planting density conditions. Therefore, SRS can be considered a better choice for the sustainable high yield of maize under high-density planting conditions in the NCP and similar areas throughout the world. The single channel Circular Synthetic Aperture Radar (CSAR) has the advantage of continuous surveillance of a fixed scene of interest, which can provide high frame rate image sequences to detect ground moving targets. Recent image-sequence-based CSAR moving target detection methods utilize the fact that the target signal moves fast in the image sequence. Knowledge of the target's image trace(moving trace in the image sequence, which is equal to a target signature's morphology in a full aperture CSAR image) can help design better detection methods. However, previous signature morphology studies are based on linear track geometry assumptions, which cannot handle CSAR's nonlinear track. Hence, this paper proposes a new image trace method based on the range-Doppler principle. The proposed method can deduct the exact analytic function of an arbitrary moving target's image trace in CSAR. The method assumes radar operates in side-looking mode and that the target moves on the ground plane. It combines the range-Doppler equations(i.e., iso-range and iso-Doppler relation) and Cartesian transformation between the ground and radar coordinate system to obtain the parametric functions of the image trace. The scarcity of phosphorus (P) makes improving phosphorus use efficiency a critical issue in crop production. Plant rhizosphere microorganisms play a vital role in increasing phosphorus bioavailability and promoting the level of plant-absorbable P in agroecosystems. In this study, Talaromyces purpurogenus SW-10 strain with efficient organic phosphate-mineralizing ability was isolated from maize rhizosphere soil. SW-10 showed efficient phytate utilization with corresponding soluble P levels of 525.43 mg/L and produced phytase in the liquid medium. The response surface methodology (RSM) analysis showed that glucose as the carbon source and (NH4)2SO4 as the nitrogen source at 28 °C and pH 7.0 promoted higher mineralization of insoluble organic phosphate. When cocultivated with different genotypes of maize seedlings, SW-10 significantly increased the shoot's dry weight by 37.93%, root's dry weight by 31.25%, and the plant height by 13.03% for low-P sensitive inbred line 31778, while no significant change was observed in the low-P tolerance inbred line CCM454. In addition, SW-10 strain significantly increased total P-concentration in the shoots (22.4%~32.9%) and roots (3.10%~9.77%) for both inbred lines. In conclusion, the isolated T. purpurogenus SW-10 strain possesses an efficient organic phosphate-mineralizing ability and maize plant growth-promoting effect, especially for the low-P sensitive genotype that could be exploited for enhancing P availability in agriculture. We previously reported on the comparison of proteomic data between seven tissue types of a novel "iron prawn" species. However, no transcripts or metabolic information are available for this species. We therefore performed shotgun LC–MS/MS metabonomic and RNA-seq analyses of the total protein from "iron prawns". KEGG analysis revealed that the largest group consisted of a total of 114 KEGG pathway proteins, comparing the "iron prawns" with the normal prawns. A total of 423 peptides, corresponding to metabolic pathways, ABC transporters, starch and sucrose metabolism, insulin resistance/secretion, fatty digestion and absorption, and lipid metabolism, were identified. The pathways of carbohydrate and amino acid metabolism decreased in female iron prawns, while organic acid and its derivatives increased. However, the pathway of organic acid and its derivatives decreased and lipid metabolism increased in the male iron prawns. The pathways of choline metabolism in cancer and glycerophospholipid/histidine/propanoate metabolism have been significantly affected in iron prawns. Partial liquefaction of residual biomass shows good potential for developing new materials suitable for making bio-based composites. Three-layer particleboards were produced by replacing virgin wood particles with partially liquefied bark (PLB) in the core or surface layers. PLB was prepared by the acid-catalyzed liquefaction of industrial bark residues in polyhydric alcohol. The chemical and microscopic structure of bark and residues after liquefaction were evaluated by means of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), while the particleboards were tested for their mechanical and water-related properties, as well as their emission profiles. Through a partial liquefaction process, some FTIR absorption peaks of the bark residues were lower than those of raw bark, indicating hydrolysis of chemical compounds. The surface morphology of bark did not change considerably after partial liquefaction. Particleboards with PLB in the core layers showed overall lower densities and mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity, modulus of rupture, and internal bond strength), and were less water-resistant as compared to the ones with PLB used in the surface layers. Formaldehyde emissions from the particleboards were 0.284–0.382 mg/m2·h, and thus, below the E1 class limit required by European Standard EN 13986:2004. The major emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were carboxylic acids as oxidization and degradation products from hemicelluloses and lignin. Tillage practices can directly affect soil quality, influencing soil properties, crop growth, and soil microbial community characteristics. However, the influence of long-term tillage practices on the rhizosphere bacterial community in lime concretion black soil remains largely unknown. In this study, the effects of nine-year rotary tillage (RT), no-tillage (NT), subsoiling tillage (ST), and plow tillage (PT) on soil chemical properties, microbial community structure, and correlations between bacterial communities and soil properties in the maize rhizosphere were investigated. The results revealed that the maize yield in ST and PT was higher by 10.61% and 10.26% than that in RT and by 10.25% and 9.90% than that in NT, respectively. The soil organic matter (SOM) and total nitrogen (TN) contents in NT and ST were significantly higher than those in RT and PT, whereas the available phosphorus (AP) content in ST and PT was significantly higher than that in NT and RT. The diversity and richness of the soil bacterial communities exhibited a trend of NT > RT > PT > ST. The principal component analysis revealed that the soil bacterial community differed among treatments. Linear discriminant analysis effect size (LEfSe) analysis demonstrated that Proteobacteria, Armatimonadetes, Verrucomicrobia, and Chloroflexi could serve as crucial biomarkers. Phylogenetic investigation of communities by reconstruction of unobserved states (PICRUSt) results revealed that genes involved in carbon, lipid, and xenobiotic metabolism were enriched under ST and PT, whereas those involved in nitrogen and carbon fixation were enriched under NT. Besides, Proteobacteria, Verrucomicrobia, and Armatimonadetes were positively associated with AP levels and negatively associated with pH; however, Acidobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Planctomycetes exhibited an opposite trend. Overall, ST and PT improved the soil properties and environmental suitability by increasing the bacterial keystone taxa; thus, these practices improved crop yield. These findings could enhance our understanding of the rhizosphere functional microbial community in lime concretion black soil for winter wheat–summer maize double-cropping system. We investigated the effect of Cu on the formation of reversed austenite in super martensitic stainless steel by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), a transmission electron microscope (TEM) and an energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS). Our results showed that the microstructure of the steels comprised tempered martensite and diffused reversed austenite after the steels were quenched at 1050 °C and tempered at 550–750 °C. The volume fraction of reversed austenite in the steel with 3 wt.% of Cu (3Cu) was more than that with 1.5 wt.% of Cu (1.5Cu). The transmission electron microscope results revealed that the reversed austenite in 1.5Cu steel mainly had the shape of a thin strip, while that in 3Cu steel had a block shape. The nucleation points and degree of Ni enrichment of reversed austenite in 3Cu steel were higher than those in 1.5Cu steel. The reversed austenite was more likely to grow in ε-Cu enriched regions. Therefore, Cu can promote reversed austenite nucleation and growth. The mechanical properties of 3 Cu steel are obviously better than those of 1.5Cu steel when tempered at 550–650 °C. Purpose: To evaluate the long-term survival and functional outcomes of patients with prolonged disorders of consciousness (pDoC) 1–8 years after brain injuries. Methods: Retrospective study to assess the long-term survival and functional outcomes of patients with pDoC was conducted. We performed Cox regression and multivariate logistic regression to calculate hazard ratios (HRs) for the outcome of survival and to identify risk factors of the functional outcome. Results: We recruited 154 patients with pDoC. The duration of follow-up from disease onset was 1–8 years. The median age was 46 years (IQR, 32–59), and 65.6% (n = 101) of them were men. During the follow-up period, one hundred and ten patients (71.4%) survived; among them, 52 patients had a good outcome. From the overall survival curve, the 1-, 3-, and 8-year survival rates of patients were about 80.5%, 72.0%, and 69.7%, respectively. Cox regression analysis revealed a significant association between the lower APACHE II score (p = 0.005) (cut-off score ≥ 18) and the presence of sleep spindles (p = 0.001) with survival. Logistic regression analysis demonstrated a higher CRS-R score (cut-off score ≥ 7), and presence of sleep spindles were related to a favorable outcome among patients with pDoC. (1) Background: Chronic wounds represent a major burden to patients and healthcare systems and identifying new therapeutic targets to encourage wound healing is a significant challenge. This study evaluated nWASP as a new therapeutic target in human wound healing and determined how this can be regulated. (2) Methods: Clinical cohorts from patients with chronic wounds were tested for the expression of nWASP and cell models were employed to evaluate the influence of nWASP on cellular functions that are key to the healing process following knockdown and/or the use of nWASP-specific inhibitors. (3) Results: nWASP was significantly elevated at transcript levels in human non-healing chronic wounds versus healing tissues. nWASP inhibitors, wiskostatin and 187-1, along with the knockdown of nWASP, modified both HaCaT and HECV cell behaviour. We then identified two signalling pathways affected by nWASP inhibition: TrkB signalling and downstream PLCγ1 phosphorylation were impaired by nWASP inhibition in HaCaT cells. The healing of wounds in a diabetic murine model was significantly improved with an nWASP inhibitor treatment. (4) Conclusions: This study showed that nWASP activity was related to the non-healing behaviour of chronic wounds and together with the findings in the in vivo models, it strongly suggested nWASP as a therapeutic target in non-healing wounds that are regulated via TrkB and PLCγ1 signalling. Huang-Huai-Hai Plain is the most important region for grain production in China. In this area, long-term rotary tillage in winter wheat and no tillage in summer maize have significantly increased soil bulk density, which impede maize root growth and reduce the grain yield. Subsoiling tillage is an effective practice to improve soil properties and crop growth. The objective of this study was to investigate the integrated effects of subsoiling tillage in both winter wheat and summer maize seasons on soil bulk density, maize root growth and spatial distribution. A two-year field experiment was conducted in winter wheat–summer maize rotation system. Tillage treatments included rotary tillage (RT) and subsoiling tillage (ST) in wheat season, and no tillage (NT), inter–row subsoiling tillage (STIR), and on–row subsoiling tillage (STOR) in maize season. It was found that in the second year, i.e., in 2018, ST decreased soil bulk density by 3.87% and increased porosity by 5.86% at 30–40 cm soil depth at maize maturity. Meanwhile, maize root length density at 40–50 cm depth increased by 30.00% and grain yield increased by 4.70% under ST. In maize season tillage treatments, STOR decreased soil bulk density by 4.52% and increased soil porosity by 6.96% at 20–30 cm soil depth. Compared with NT, the STOR significantly increased maize root length density at 20–30 cm soil depth by 78.45%, and increased root length density in a horizontal area 0–10 cm for both years, with a significant increase of 58.89% in 2018. Therefore, this study demonstrated that in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, which has a tidal soil type, subsoiling tillage in winter wheat season and on–row subsoiling tillage in maize season can loosen the soil and improve vertical extension of maize root system in the soil. Rural arts events (triennials/festivals) are mainly aimed at local and regional revitalization. This exhibition-driven tourism (unlike traditional festivals, conferences, and exhibitions) has existed for more than 20 years in Japan. The curators of exhibition-driven tourism hope that these events can promote the economy and stop population decline as a result of the aging population. Therefore, this paper attempts to evaluate the effects of urban and rural arts event tourism in local and neighborhood areas in Niigata, Japan from the perspective of SDG 8.9. The Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial and Water and Land Niigata Art Festival were chosen as case studies. Panel data (1997–2019) concerning tourists, income, and population in Niigata were evaluated using multiple empirical methods with descriptive correlation statistics (simple linear regression (SLR) and one-way ANOVA) and spatial analysis (Moran's I). Through multiple-method analysis, the positive impacts of urban and rural arts event tourism in local and neighborhood areas in relation to Sustainable Development Goal 8.9 were evaluated. An 8-week feeding experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary histamine on growth performance, digestive physiology function and muscle quality in a hybrid grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus♀ × Epinephelus lanceolatus♂). Seven isoproteic (50%) and isolipidic (11%) diets were prepared with various histamine inclusion levels of 0, 30, 60, 120, 240, 480 and 960 mg/kg in diets (actual contents were 72.33, 99.56, 138.60, 225.35, 404.12, 662.12 and 1245.38 mg/kg), respectively. Each diet was randomly assigned to triplicates of 30 juveniles (average body weight 14.78 g) per tank in a flow-through mariculture system. The increase in the dietary histamine level up to 1245.38 mg/kg made no significant difference on the growth rate and feed utilization of the grouper. However, the increased histamine content linearly decreased the activities of digestive enzymes, while no differences were observed in groups with low levels of histamine (≤404.12 mg/kg). Similarly, high levels of histamine (≥404.12 mg/kg) significantly damaged the gastric and intestinal mucosa, disrupted the intestinal tight junction structure, and raised the serum diamine oxidase activity and endotoxin level. Meanwhile, high doses of histamine (≥662.12 mg/kg) significantly reduced the activities of antioxidant enzymes, upregulated the relative expression of Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1, and hardened and yellowed the dorsal muscle of grouper. These results showed that dietary histamine was detrimental to the digestive physiology function and muscle quality of the grouper, although it did compromise its growth performance. The performance of iron-rich calcium sulfoaluminate (IR-CSA) cement is greatly affected by mineral composition and mineral activity in the clinker. This study aims to identify the effect of CaO sources, either CaCO3 or CaSO4, on the phase formation and mineral composition of the IR-CSA clinker. Targeted samples were prepared with different proportions of CaCO3 and CaSO4 as CaO sources at 1300 °C for 45 min. Multiple methods were used to identify the mineralogical conditions. The results indicate that the mineral composition and performance of the IR-CSA clinker could be optimized by adjusting the CaO source. Both Al2O3 and Fe2O3 tend to incorporate into C4A3−xFx S ¯ with an increase in CaSO4 as a CaO source, which leads to an increased content of C4A3−xFx S ¯ but a decreased ferrite phase. In addition, clinkers prepared with CaSO4 as a CaO source showed much higher x value in C4A3−xFx S ¯ and higher compressive strength than clinker prepared with CaCO3 as the sole CaO source. The crystal types of both C4A3−xFx S ¯ and C2S were also affected, but showed different trends with the transition of the CaO source. Here, a QuEChERS (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe) pretreatment method was combined with UPLC-MS/MS to facilitate the rapid and reliable simultaneous detection of five calcium channel blockers (CCBs) in human plasma. For this approach, samples were treated with 1 mL of acetonitrile, 350 mg of magnesium sulfate, and 70 mg of PSA adsorbent prior to centrifugation. Supernatants then underwent gradient elution for 8 min with an Agilent C18 column using an acetonitrile-water solution supplemented with 5 mmol⋅L−1 of ammonium acetate. This technique exhibited a good linear response in the 1–800 ng⋅mL−1 range for the analyzed drugs, with an R2≥ 0.9921, an accuracy of 87.54–113.05%, a matrix effect (ME) of 91.21–116.39%, a precision of 0.19–11.64%, and stability of no more than 10.05%. This time-saving QuEChERS reagent-based pretreatment technique thus allowed for the simultaneous and accurate detection of five CCBs in human plasma samples, providing a promising new basis for therapeutic drug monitoring in patients with hypertension. In the field of autonomous driving, millimeter-wave (MMW) radar is often used as a supplement sensor of other types of sensors, such as optics, in severe weather conditions to provide target-detection services for autonomous driving. RODNet (A Real-Time Radar Object-Detection Network) is one of the most widely used MMW radar range–azimuth (RA) image sequence target-detection algorithms based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). However, RODNet adopts an object-location similarity (OLS) detection method that is independent of the number of targets to obtain the final target detections from the predicted confidence map. Therefore, it gives a poor performance on missed detection ratio in dense pedestrian scenes. Based on the analysis of the predicted confidence map distribution characteristics, we propose a new generative model-based target-location detection algorithm to improve the performance of RODNet in dense pedestrian scenes. The confidence value and space distribution predicted by RODNet are analyzed in this paper. It shows that the space distribution is more robust than the value distribution for clustering. This is useful in selecting a clustering method to estimate the clustering centers of multiple targets in close range under the effects of distributed target and radar measurement variance and multipath scattering. Another key idea of this algorithm is the derivation of a Gaussian Mixture Model with target number (GMM-TN) for generating the likelihood probability distributions of different target number assumptions. Furthermore, a minimum Kullback–Leibler (KL) divergence target number estimation scheme is proposed combined with K-means clustering and a GMM-TN model. Through the CRUW dataset, the target-detection experiment on a dense pedestrian scene is carried out, and the confidence distribution under typical hidden variable conditions is analyzed.
