This study investigated the effects of irrigation with a fully inorganic nutrient solution (control; NNNN) and an organic instead of an inorganic nutrient solution (OIINS) at the flowering–fruit setting (ONNN), fruit expanding (NONN), color turning (NNON), and harvest (NNNO) stages of the first spike on the type and content of tomato fruit volatiles to provide a theoretical basis for tomato aroma improvement and high-quality cultivation. Compared with the control (NNNN), the results showed that all OIINS-related treatments decreased the number of fruit volatiles and increased the relative content of common volatile compounds, characteristic effect compounds, aldehydes, and cis-3-hexenal. In particular, the relative order of performance of the OIINS-related treatments was NNNO > NNON > ONNN > NONN in terms of the relative content of characteristic compounds. For all treatments, the relative cis-3-hexenal and trans-2-hexenal percentages were 20.99–51.49% and 20.22–27.81%, respectively. Moreover, hexanal was only detected in tomato fruits under the NNNN and NNNO treatments. The effects of irrigation with OIINS on tomato fruit volatiles were related to the fruit developmental stage. Emulsified meat products contain high animal fat content, and excessive intake of animal fat is not good for health, so people are paying more and more attention to reduced-fat meat products. This study investigated the impact of varying proportions of pork back-fat and/or resistant starch on the proximate composition, water and fat retention, texture properties, color, and rheology characteristic of pork batter. The results found that replacing pork back-fat with resistant starch and ice water significantly decreased the total lipid and energy contents of cooked pork batter (p < 0.05) while improving emulsion stability, cooking yield, texture, and rheology properties. Additionally, when the pork back-fat replacement ratio was no more than 50%, there was a significant increase in emulsion stability, cooking yield, hardiness, springiness, cohesiveness, chewiness, and L* and G' values (p < 0.05). Furthermore, resistant starch and ice water enhanced myosin head and tail thermal stability and increased G' value at 80 °C. However, the initial relaxation times significantly decreased (p < 0.05) and the peak ratio of P21 significantly increased from 84.62% to 94.03%, suggesting reduced fluidity of water. In conclusion, it is feasible to use resistant starch and ice water as a substitute for pork back-fat in order to produce reduced-fat pork batter with favorable gel and rheology properties. Accumulating evidence shows that the abnormal increase in the mortality of intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) caused by apoptosis, pyroptosis, and necroptosis is closely related to the function of mucous membrane immunity and barrier function in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). As a procedural death path that integrates the above-mentioned many deaths, the role of PANoptosis in UC has not been clarified. This study aims to explore the characterization of PANoptosis patterns and determine the potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets. We constructed a PANoptosis gene set and revealed significant activation of PANoptosis in UC patients based on multiple transcriptome profiles of intestinal mucosal biopsies from the GEO database. Comprehensive bioinformatics analysis revealed five key genes (ZBP1, AIM2, CASP1/8, IRF1) of PANoptosome with good diagnostic value and were highly correlated with an increase in pro-inflammatory immune cells and factors. In addition, we established a reliable ceRNA regulatory network of PANoptosis and predicted three potential small-molecule drugs sharing calcium channel blockers that were identified, among which flunarizine exhibited the highest correlation with a high binding affinity to the targets. Finally, we used the DSS-induced colitis model to validate our findings. This study identifies key genes of PANoptosis associated with UC development and hypothesizes that IRF1 as a TF promotes PANoptosome multicomponent expression, activates PANoptosis, and then induces IECs excessive death. The trade-offs between ecosystem services directly affect the quality of the ecological environment and the survival and development of human society, which is of great concern to academia, governments, and non-governmental organizations. Guangdong Province is a strong economic performer in China; hence, we selected it to explore the trade-off and synergy differences between different ecosystem services, and to investigate the mechanisms of their influence in economically developed regions with a large population density. Our results showed three main points: (1) The ecosystem services in Guangdong Province showed clear spatial heterogeneity. In addition, northern Guangdong has high levels of water retention, with a value of 5804.73 × 104 m3/km2 and high values for carbon sequestration and soil retention. Western Guangdong is a functional area for food production, and the Pearl River Delta is an economically developed region with low levels of ecosystem services. (2) Overall, in Guangdong Province, three pairs of ecosystem services, namely water retention–soil retention, carbon sequestration–water retention, and carbon sequestration–soil retention, showed a strong positive correlation and good synergistic relationships. The other three pairs of relationships show strong trade-off effects. (3) The relationships between similar ecosystem services show completely different characteristics in different regions. Carbon sequestration and water retention, carbon sequestration and biodiversity conservation, water retention and biodiversity conservation, and soil retention and biodiversity conservation were mainly manifested in high–high synergies, particularly in northern Guangdong; carbon sequestration and soil retention and water retention and soil retention, primarily manifested synergies; carbon sequestration and food production, water retention and food production, and soil retention and food production mainly manifested as trade-off relationships. Molecular hydrogen (H2) is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas which displays non-toxic features at high concentrations. H2 can alleviate oxidative damage, reduce inflammatory reactions and inhibit apoptosis cascades, thereby inducing protective and repairing effects on cells. H2 can be transported into the body in the form of H2 gas, hydrogen-rich water (HRW), hydrogen-rich saline (HRS) or H2 produced by intestinal bacteria. Accumulating evidence suggest that H2 is protective against multiple ophthalmic diseases, including cataracts, dry eye disease, diabetic retinopathy (DR) and other fields. In particular, H2 has been tested in the treatment of dry eye disease and corneal endothelial injury in clinical practice. This medical gas has brought hope to patients suffering from blindness. Although H2 has demonstrated promising therapeutic potentials and broad application prospects, further large-scale studies involving more patients are still needed to determine its optimal application mode and dosage. In this paper, we have reviewed the basic characteristics of H2, and its therapeutic effects in ophthalmic diseases. Mitochondrial autophagy plays a contributary role in the pathogenesis of retina degeneration (RD). ZYAN1 is a novel proline hydroxylase domain (PHD) inhibitor that can enhance the expression of hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α). This study investigated whether ZYAN1 could alleviate progressive photoreceptor loss and oxidative damage in a pharmacologically induced RD model via the modulation of mitophagy. ZYAN1 was injected into the vitreous body of the RD model, and the retinal autophagy level was analyzed. The therapeutic effects of ZYAN1 were evaluated via a function examination, a morphological assay, in situ reactive oxygen species (ROS) detection, and an immunofluorescence assay. It was shown that the thickness of the outer nuclear layer (ONL) increased significantly, and visual function was efficiently preserved via ZYAN1 treatment. The mitochondria structure of photoreceptors was more complete in the ZYAN1-treated mice, and the number of autophagosomes also increased significantly. Membrane disc shedding and ROS overproduction were alleviated after ZYAN1 treatment, and the axonal cilia were more structurally intact. A Western blot analysis showed that the expression levels of the autophagy-related proteins LC3-B, Beclin-1, and ATG5 increased significantly after ZYAN1 treatment, while the expression of P62 was down-regulated. Moreover, the expression levels of HIF-1α and BNIP3 were up-regulated after ZYAN1 treatment. Therefore, an intravitreal injection of ZYAN1 can act as part of the pharmacologic strategy to modulate mitophagy and alleviate oxidative stress in RD. Toxoplasma gondii is an opportunistic pathogenic protozoan that can infect all nucleated cells in almost all warm-blooded animals, including humans. T. gondii infection has been reported in many food animals worldwide. However, the prevalence and genotypes of T. gondii in chickens from farmers' markets in Fujian province in southeastern China remain unreported. In the present study, four tissue samples from each of the 577 chickens (namely, the heart, liver, lungs, and muscles) were collected from farmers' markets in five regions of Fujian province (Zhangzhou, Sanming, Quanzhou, Fuzhou, and Longyan). We first analyzed the prevalence and genotypes of T. gondii using PCR targeting of the B1 gene of T. gondii. Of the 577 chickens, thirty-two (5.5%) tested positive for the B1 gene. Among the five regions, Sanming had the highest infection rate (16.8%, 16/95), followed by Quanzhou (8.0%, 8/100), Longyan (5.0%, 5/100), Zhangzhou (1.1%, 2/182), and Fuzhou (1.0%, 1/100). Among these thirty-two T. gondii-positive chickens, the infection rates of the lungs, heart, liver, and muscles were 68.8% (22/32), 34.4% (11/32), 28.1% (9/32), and 9.4% (3/32), respectively. Significant differences in prevalence were found among the different regions (χ2 = 35.164, p < 0.05) and tissues (χ2 = 25.874, p < 0.05). A total of 128 tissue and organ samples of the thirty-two T. gondii-positive chickens from the different regions were analyzed using PCR–restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR–RFLP) on the basis of 10 genetic markers. Seven tissue samples (lung samples from five chickens, heart samples from one chicken, and liver samples from one chicken) underwent successful amplification at all the genetic markers, and all the T. gondii genotypes were identified as genotype I (ToxoDB #10). These findings serve as a foundation for evaluating the risk of T. gondii contamination in chicken products intended for human consumption and offer insight into preventing the transmission of the parasite from chickens to humans. Green water treatment technologies are widely popular, and magnetic coagulation is one of the most popular methods and has been successfully applied in industry. Among them, magnetic seeds are crucial for the flocculation of contaminants. The objective of this work was to investigate the potential of magnetic metal–organic frameworks (MMOFs) as a seed in assisting polymeric ferric sulfate (PFS) flocculant, specifically exploring their applicability in algal-contaminated water. Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, ferrite timing spectroscopy, and flocculation tests were used to characterize the structure and flocculation properties of MMOFs and PFS (PFS-MMOFs) composites, highlighting the stability of magnetic seed MMOFs and the flocculation effect of the composites. The results show that MMOFs have good dispersion and stability in acidic PFS solutions, which are favorable for engineering applications. MMOFs and PFS are bonded by hydrogen bonds, which enhance the polarity and dispersion of MMOFs, as well as the molecular chains of PFS. In the presence of MMOFs, it affected the distribution of iron species in the PFS, which means that the performance of coagulation may be changed. Coagulation with PFS-MMOFs was effective under different hydraulic conditions. It also showed better results than PFS in terms of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) removal and ultraviolet absorption value at 254 nm (UV254). In addition, the PFS-MMOFs in algal-infested waters were superior to the PFS. Overall, the findings tested in this study indicated that MMOFs are good magnetic seeds for remediation of water pollution in conjunction with PFS, potentially enhancing conventional coagulation. Food waste (FW) increases with urbanization and population growth, which puts pressure on the treatment system, causing a variety of harmful impacts on the environment. Proper FW treatment is imperative for ecological integrity and public health. Even though FW treatment is an extensively studied topic, the sustainable FW treatment considering holistic-lifecycle-based environmental impacts has rarely been evaluated. This study addresses this gap through a comprehensive analysis of various FW treatment methods, including co-treatment with sewage, anaerobic digestion, incineration, and aerobic composting. The impacts of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission and energy use efficiency are assessed by analyzing diverse FW treatment methods in Shenzhen, China. The study indicates that FW addition to sewage does not adversely affect the current sewage treatment plant, but benefits GHG avoidance and energy recovery. Compared with the other FW treatment methods, FW anaerobic digestion avoids the most GHG emissions with −71.3 kg CO2 eq/FU and recovers the most energy with −223 kWh/FU, followed by FW co-treated with sewage. The energy conversion efficiency of the combined heat and power (CHP) unit greatly affects FW incineration, while energy consumption in incineration and anaerobic digestion (AD) process is relatively minor. Perturbation analysis pinpoints key parameters influencing outcomes, including CHP efficiency, GHG emission factor of local electricity, and chemical oxygen demand (COD) in FW with ratios of −13~−0.942, −0.518~0.22, and −13~1.01, respectively, that should be given special attention. This study sheds light on sustainable FW management strategies, not only in China but also transferrable to regions confronting similar challenges. During variable-rate spraying in orchards, the atomization characteristics and distribution of droplets in and out of the target area can be affected by the sprayer pressure. In this study, a variable-rate spraying control system test bench was designed, and a hollow cone nozzle QY82.317.22 was selected. The droplet atomization characteristics, including volume median diameter (Dv0.5), the relative span of the droplet spectrum, and droplet velocity at different spray pressures, were studied at distances ranging from 0.4 to 2.4 m from the nozzle orifice with an air velocity of 10 m/s at the nozzle orifice position. The effects of longitudinal distance, transverse distance, and spray pressure on Dv0.5, relative span, and droplet velocity were analysed by multiple linear regression analysis, and the regression model was established. The experimental results show that at a longitudinal distance of 1.8 m, Dv0.5 ranges from 120 to 150 μm, meeting the requirements for optimal droplet size for controlling crawling pests and plant diseases on crop leaves; and the relative span is 1.2, indicating a wide droplet spectrum. At different pressure conditions, Dv0.5 decreases as pressure increases. Through multiple linear regression analysis, the longitudinal distance, the transverse distance, and the spray pressure have high significance for Dv0.5 and the droplet velocity. The longitudinal distance and the transverse distance have a highly significant effect on the relative span. In this study, the mathematical relational model of droplet characteristics at different spatial positions and different pressures was established, providing an agricultural reference for predicting the droplet characteristics at different spatial positions to achieve the best application effect. Due to the complexity and uncertainty of decision-making, probabilistic linguistic term sets (PLTSs) are currently important tools for qualitative evaluation of decision-makers. The asymmetry of evaluation information can easily lead to the loss of subjective preference information for decision-makers, and the existing operation of decision-maker evaluation information fusion operators is difficult to solve this problem. To solve such problems, this paper proposes some new operational methods for PLTSs based on Dombi T-conorm and T-norm. Considering the interrelationships between the input independent variables of PLTSs, the probabilistic linguistic weighted Dombi Bonferroni mean Power average (PLWDBMPA) operators are extended and the properties of these aggregation operators are proposed. Secondly, the PLWDBMPA operator is used to fuse the evaluation information of decision-makers, avoiding the loss of decision information as much as possible. This paper uses social media platforms and web crawler technology to obtain online comments from users on decision-making to obtain the public's attitude towards decision events. TF-IDF and Word2Vec are used to calculate the weight of alternatives on each attribute. Under traditional group decision-making methods and integrating the wisdom of the public, a novel multi-attribute group decision-making method based on TODIM method is proposed. Finally, the case study of Turkey earthquake shelter selection proves this method is scientific and effective. Automatic modulation classification (AMC) based on deep learning (DL) is gaining increasing attention in dynamic spectrum access for 5G/6G wireless communications. However, inconsistent feature parameters between the training (source) and testing (target) data lead to performance degradation or even failure of existing DL-based AMC. The primary reason for this is the difficulty in obtaining sufficient labeled training data in the target domain. Therefore, we propose a novel cross-domain AMC algorithm based on multimodal information and transfer learning, utilizing abundant unlabeled target domain data. We achieve complementary gains by fusing multimodal information such as amplitude, phase, and spectrum, which are used to train a network. Additionally, we apply domain adversarial neural network technology from transfer learning to learn from a large number of unlabeled data samples in the target domain to address the issue of decreased accuracy in cross-domain AMC caused by differences in sampling rate, signal-to-noise ratio, and channel variations. Furthermore, we introduce class weight weighting and entropy weighting to solve the partial domain adaptation problem, considering that the target domain has fewer modulation signal classes than the source domain. To study the use of partial or total potassium bicarbonate (PBC) to replace sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) on reduced-phosphate silver carp batters, all the batters were composed of silver carp surimi, pork back fat, ice water, spices, sugar, and sodium chloride. Therein, the sample of T1 contained 4 g/kg STPP; T2 contained 1 g/kg PBC, 3 g/kg STPP; T3 contained 2 g/kg PBC, 2 g/kg STPP; T4 contained 3 g/kg PBC, 1 g/kg STPP; T5 contained 4 g/kg PBC, and they were all produced using a bowl chopper. The changes in pH, whiteness, water- and oil-holding capacity, gel and rheological properties, as well as protein conformation were investigated. The pH, cooking yield, water- and oil-holding capacity, texture properties, and the G′ values at 90 °C of the reduced-phosphate silver carp batters with PBC significantly increased (p < 0.05) compared to the sample without PBC. Due to the increasing pH and enhanced ion strength, more β-sheet and β-turns structures were formed. Furthermore, by increasing PBC, the pH significantly increased (p < 0.05) and the cooked silver carp batters became darkened. Meanwhile, more CO2 was generated, which destroyed the gel structure, leading the water- and oil-holding capacity, texture properties, and G′ values at 90 °C to be increased and then decreased. Overall, using PBC partial as a substitute of STPP enables reduced-phosphate silver carp batter to have better gel characteristics and water-holding capacity by increasing its pH and changing its rheology characteristic and protein conformation. The purpose of this study is to discuss the unexpected existing space hidden in the Internet under the premise of interlacing life experiences and the Internet. We analyze the relationship between social media-mediated user emotions and cyberspace through a relevant literature review and a questionnaire survey, and summarize the possible factors that influence the relationship between cyberspace and users. The human eye is a consolidated organ with delicate structures and unique immune privileges. Ocular diseases are intractable due to the intrinsic biological barriers within the eyeball. Hydrogels are excellent drug-carrying substances with soft material and excellent properties. They have been extensively used to deliver drugs into ocular tissue via iontophoresis devices. Ophthalmic iontophoresis is an electrochemical technique using tiny electrical currents to deliver drugs into the eye non-invasively. The early infantile iontophoresis technique often required long applying time to achieve therapeutic dose in the posterior ocular segment. The potential limitations in the initial drug concentration and the maximum safe currents would also impede the efficiency and safety of iontophoresis. Moreover, the poor patient compliance always leads to mechanical damage to the cornea and sclera during application. Advantageously, the flexible drug-carrying hydrogel can be in direct contact with the eye during iontophoresis, thereby reducing mechanical damage to the ocular surface. Moreover, the water absorption and adjustable permeability of hydrogels can reduce the electrochemical (EC) reactions and enhance the efficiency of iontophoresis. In this review, we focus on recent developments of hydrogels iontophoresis in ophthalmologic practice. As a top-down holographic approach, the D4/D8 model is expected to be a holographic version of QCD, since it almost includes all the elementary features of QCD based on string theory. In this manuscript, we review the fundamental properties of the D4/D8 model with respect to the D4-brane background and the embedding of the flavor branes, holographic quark, gluon, meson, baryon and glueball with various symmetries; then, we take a look at some interesting applications and developments based on this model. In this study, different drying methods, including hot air drying, sun drying, and freeze drying were employed to dry fresh broad beans. The nutritional composition, volatile organic components and bioactive substances of the dried broad beans were systematically compared. The results indicated significant differences (p < 0.05) in nutritional composition, such as protein and soluble sugar content. Among the 66 identified volatile organic compounds, freeze drying and hot air drying significantly promote the production of alcohols and aldehydes, while sun drying effectively preserves esters. In terms of bioactive substances, broad beans dried by freeze drying exhibit the highest total phenol content as well as the strongest antioxidant capacity and gallic acid, followed by sun drying. The chemometric analysis revealed that the bioactive compounds in broad beans dried by three different methods were primarily composed of flavonoids, organic acids, and amino acids with significant differentiation. An industry technology roadmap (hereafter ITRM) is a strategic planning tool to predict the technologies and innovations demanded by the future market, allowing the industry to leverage capital and other investments in a range of alternative technologies and achieve sustainable development. To date, ITRM has been adopted by various global organizations in different industries; however, the majority of research has focused on roadmapping techniques only. Although success factors have been mentioned in some of the literature, little work has been conducted to assess the success of any ITRM. This research, therefore, developed an assessment model, including a theoretical and knowledge framework, assessment methods, and quantitative indices, to systematically assess the contents of an ITRM. We then used it to assess four global textile ITRMs. The assessment results led us to recommend five success factors of an effective ITRM: (1) methodological industry technology roadmapping; (2) a multi-organizational background; (3) systematic presentation of ITRM contents; (4) balanced contents for market and technology forces; and (5) appropriate databases. The thermal comfort and air-conditioning energy consumption of vehicles or trains are dependent on the thermal resistance of its envelopes, which could be enhanced by improving the radiation characteristics of the narrow cavities scattered in their envelopes. However, the study for a feasible method and its effectiveness has been given little attention. This paper introduces a method that involves pasting aluminum foil on the inner wall to change the radiation characteristics of the narrow cavity and analyzed its effects on narrow-cavity heat transfer by experimental and numerical methods. The results indicate that the radiation effect on heat transfer in a narrow cavity made of conventional material is dominant, with a rate larger than 75%, and that pasting aluminum foil is an effective and feasible method of weakening the radiation rate in narrow-cavity heat transfer, decreasing it to less than 10%. Simple Summary: Macrophages are the "big eaters" of the immune system who are in charge of engulfing undesirable substances. Macrophages are vital for the human body as they are instrumental in developing organisms, regulating immune responses, and maintaining a relatively stable internal environment. When the phagocytic capacity of macrophages is impaired, the body is prone to disease. In the context of tumors, tumor cells have their ways to escape from macrophage-mediated phagocytosis. They masquerade as healthy cells by expressing "don't eat me" signals to fool macrophages and turn the initially anti-tumoral macrophages against the human body, which results in reduced macrophage-mediated phagocytosis. Hence, promoting the phagocytosis of macrophages is an important approach to improving the efficacy of anti-tumor treatment. In this review, we introduced the underlying mechanisms of macrophage-mediated phagocytosis and reviewed the recent progress in the area of application strategies on the basis of the phagocytosis mechanism. Macrophages are essential for the human body in both physiological and pathological conditions, engulfing undesirable substances and participating in several processes, such as organism growth, immune regulation, and maintenance of homeostasis. Macrophages play an important role in anti-bacterial and anti-tumoral responses. Aberrance in the phagocytosis of macrophages may lead to the development of several diseases, including tumors. Tumor cells can evade the phagocytosis of macrophages, and "educate" macrophages to become pro-tumoral, resulting in the reduced phagocytosis of macrophages. Hence, harnessing the phagocytosis of macrophages is an important approach to bolster the efficacy of anti-tumor treatment. In this review, we elucidated the underlying phagocytosis mechanisms, such as the equilibrium among phagocytic signals, receptors and their respective signaling pathways, macrophage activation, as well as mitochondrial fission. We also reviewed the recent progress in the area of application strategies on the basis of the phagocytosis mechanism, including strategies targeting the phagocytic signals, antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP), and macrophage activators. We also covered recent studies of Chimeric Antigen Receptor Macrophage (CAR-M)-based anti-tumor therapy. Transition-metal-doped boron nanoclusters exhibit unique structures and bonding in chemistry. Using the experimentally observed seashell-like borospherenes C2 B28−/0 and Cs B29− as ligands and based on extensive first-principles theory calculations, we predict herein a series of novel transition-metal-centered endohedral seashell-like metallo-borospherenes C2 Sc@B28− (1), C2 Ti@B28 (2), C2 V@B28+ (3), and Cs V@B292− (4) which, as the global minima of the complex systems, turn out to be the boron analogues of dibenzenechromium D6h Cr(C6H6)2 with two B12 ligands on the top and bottom interconnected by four or five corner boron atoms on the waist and one transition-metal "pearl" sandwiched at the center in between. Detailed molecular orbital, adaptive natural density partitioning (AdNDP), and iso−chemical shielding surface (ICSS) analyses indicate that, similar to Cr(C6H6)2, these endohedral seashell-like complexes follow the 18-electron rule in bonding patterns (1S21P61D10), rendering spherical aromaticity and extra stability to the systems. Widely employed in hydrate exploitation, the single well method is utilized to broaden the scope of hydrate decomposition. Optimizing the well structure and production strategy is necessary to enhance gas recovery efficiency. Complex wells represented by the multilateral wells have great application potential in hydrate mining. This study focused on the impact of multilateral well production methods on productivity, taking the Nankai Trough in Japan as the study area. The spatial distribution of physical parameters such as porosity, permeability, and hydrate saturation in the Nankai Trough has significant heterogeneity. For model accuracy, the Sklearn machine learning and Kriging interpolation methods were used to construct a three-dimensional heterogeneous geological model to describe the structure and physical property parameters in the study area of the hydrate reservoir. The numerical simulation model was solved using the TOUGH + Hydrate program and fitted with the measured data of the trial production project to verify its reliability. Finally, we set the multilateral wells for hydrate high saturation area to predict the gas and water production of hydrate reservoir with different exploitation schemes. The main conclusions are as follows: ① The Sklearn machine learning and Kriging interpolation methods can be used to construct a three-dimensional heterogeneous geological model for limited site data, and the fitting effect of the heterogeneous numerical simulation model is better than that of the homogeneous numerical simulation model. ② The multilateral well method can effectively increase the gas production rate from the hydrate reservoir compared with the traditional single well method by approximately 8000 m3/day on average (approximately 51.8%). ③ In the high saturation area, the number of branches of the multilateral well were set to 2, 3, and 4, and the gas production rate was increased by approximately 51.8%, 52.5%, and 53.5%. Multi-attribute group decision making is widely used in the real world, and many scholars have done a lot of research on it. The public's focus on emergencies can provide an important reference for emergency handling decision making in the social media big data environment. Due to the complexity of emergency handling decision making, the asymmetry of user evaluation information is easy to cause the loss of important information. It is very important to mine valuable information for decision making through online reviews. Then, a generalized extended hybrid distance measure method between the probabilistic linguistic term sets is proposed. Based on this, an extended GDMD-PROMETHEE large-scale multi-attribute group decision-making method is proposed as well, which can be used to decision making under symmetric information and asymmetric information. Firstly, web crawler technology is used to explore the topics of public concern of emergency handling on social media platforms, and use k -means cluster analysis to classify the crawling variables, then the attributes and subjective weights of emergency handling plans are obtained by TF-IDF and Word2vec technology. Secondly, in order to better retain the linguistic evaluation information from decision-makers, a new generalized probabilistic hybrid distance measure method based on Hamming distance is proposed. Considering the difference of decision makers' evaluation, the objective weight of decision makers is calculated by combining the maximum deviation method with the new extended hybrid Euclidean distance. On this basis, the comprehensive weights of the attributes are calculated by combining subjective and objective factors. Meanwhile, this paper realizes the distance measures and information fusion of probabilistic linguistic term sets under cumulative prospect theory, and the ranking results of the emergency handling plans based on the extended GDMD-PROMETHEE algorithm are given. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the extended GDMD-PROMETHEE algorithm are verified by the case study of the explosion accident handling decision making of Shanghai "6.18" Petrochemical, and the comparative analyses between the several traditional algorithms demonstrate the extended GDMD-PROMETHEE algorithm is more scientific and superior in this paper. Focused microwave−hyperthermia therapy has recently emerged as a key technology in the treatment of breast cancer due to non−invasive treatment. An applicator of a three−ring phased array consisting of ultra−wideband (UWB) microstrip antennas was designed for breast cancer therapy and operates at 0.915 GHz and 2.45 GHz. The proposed antenna has an ultra−wideband from 0.7 GHz to 5.5 GHz with resonant frequencies of 0.915 GHz and 2.45 GHz and dimensions of 15 × 43.5 × 1.575 mm3. The number of each ring was chosen to be 12 based on the SAR distribution and the performance indicators of tumor off−center focusing results for four different numbers of single−ring arrays. The homogeneous breast model is applied to a three−ring phased array consisting of 36 elements for focused simulation, and 1 cm3 and 2 cm3 tumors are placed in three different locations in the breast. The simulation results show that the proposed phased array has good performance and the capability to raise the temperature of different volumes of breast cancer above 42.5 °C after choosing a suitable operating frequency. The interactions between plants and microorganisms, which are widely present in the microbial-dominated rhizosphere, have been studied. This association is highly beneficial to the organisms involved, as plants benefit soil microorganisms by providing them with metabolites, while microorganisms promote plant growth and development by promoting nutrient uptake and/or protecting the plant from biotic and abiotic stresses. Piriformospora indica, an endophytic fungus of Sebacinales, colonizes the roots of a wide range of host plants and establishes various benefits for the plants. In this work, an interaction between barley and the P. indica was established to elucidate microRNA (miRNA)-based regulatory changes in miRNA profiles and gene expression that occurred during the symbiosis. Growth promotion and vigorous root development were confirmed in barley colonized by P. indica. The genome-wide expression profile analysis of miRNAs in barley root showed that 7,798,928, 6,418,039 and 7,136,192 clean reads were obtained from the libraries of mock, 3 dai and 7 dai roots, respectively. Sequencing of the barley genome yielded in 81 novel miRNA and 450 differently expressed genes (DEGs). Additionally, 11, 24, 6 differentially expressed microRNAs (DEMs) in barley were found in the three comparison groups, including 3 dai vs. mock, 7 dai vs. mock and 7 dai vs. 3 dai, respectively. The predicted target genes of these miRNAs are mainly involved in transcription, cell division, auxin signal perception and transduction, photosynthesis and hormone stimulus. Transcriptome analysis of P. indica identified 667 and 594 differentially expressed genes (DEG) at 3 dai and 7 dai. Annotation and GO (Gene Ontology) analysis indicated that the DEGs with the greatest changes were concentrated in oxidoreductase activity, ion transmembrane transporter activity. It implies that reprogramming of fundamental miRNA and gene expression occurs both in barley and P. indica. Analysis of global changes in miRNA profiles of barley colonized with P. indica revealed that several putative endogenous barley miRNAs expressed upon colonization belonging to known micro RNA families involved in growth and developmental regulation. Developing multicomponent crystal forms, especially cocrystals and salts, is becoming a promising pathway to improve the solubility and bioavailability of drugs. Herein, new multicomponent crystals of SHR0302, a new generation of Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor that suffers from poor solubility, were developed based on a cooperative approach of computational and experimental coformer screenings. Virtual screening methods, including the conductor-like screening model for realistic solvents (COSMO-RS) and molecular complementary (MC) analysis, were employed to predict the binding affinity between SHR0302 and selected coformers. The developed screening method was capable of reducing the screening database to 30 coformers from a total of 42 proposed coformers. The proof-of-concept experimental screening study was performed to demonstrate the efficiency of computational screening, wherein three new multicomponent crystalline forms were found and fully characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, and IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Further, the measurements of the solubility property of these new multicomponent crystal forms reveal an apparent promotion compared with the drug alone. Finally, the receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve was used to assess the prediction performance of the COSMO-RS model. Successful surgery on drug-resistant epilepsy patients (DRE) needs precise localization of the seizure onset zone (SOZ). Previous studies analyzing this issue still face limitations, such as inadequate analysis of features, low sensitivity and limited generality. Our study proposed an innovative and effective SOZ localization method based on multiple epileptogenic biomarkers (spike and HFOs), and analysis of single-contact (MEBM-SC) to address the above problems. We extracted contacts epileptic features from signal distributions and signal energy based on machine learning and end-to-end deep learning. Among them, a normalized pathological ripple rate was designed to reduce the disturbance of physiological ripple and enhance the performance of SOZ localization. Then, a feature selection algorithm based on Shapley value and hypothetical testing (ShapHT+) was used to limit interference from irrelevant features. Moreover, an attention mechanism and a focal loss algorithm were used on the classifier to learn significant features and overcome the unbalance of SOZ/nSOZ contacts. Finally, we provided an SOZ prediction and visualization on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Ten patients with DRE were selected to verify our method. The experiment performed cross-validation and revealed that MEBM-SC obtains higher sensitivity. Additionally, the spike has better sensitivity while HFOs have better specificity, and the combination of these biomarkers can achieve the best performance. The study confirmed that MEBM-SC can increase the sensitivity and accuracy of SOZ localization and help clinicians to perform a precise and reliable preoperative evaluation based on interictal SEEG. At solid-liquid interfaces, charged particles within the electric double layer (EDL) are acted on by the electrostatic force, which may affect cell absorption and surface wettability. In this study, a model of the electrostatic force and surface tension of textured surfaces was presented. Then, the growth and adhesion of Murine osteoblasts (MC3T3-E1) cells on laser-ablated micro-square-textured Ti-6Al-4V surfaces were studied to demonstrate the use of a laser-processed texture to effectively improve bioactivity. Three different micro-square-textured hydrophilic surfaces, presenting lower contact angles of 19°, 22.5°, and 31.75° compared with that of a smooth surface (56.5°), were fabricated using a fiber-optic laser. Cellular morphology and initial cell attachment were analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fluorescence microscopy, respectively. The results show that the electrostatic force not only made the textured surface more hydrophilic but also made the cells tend to adhere to the edges and corners of the protruding convexes. Cell morphology analysis also showed that cells would prefer to grow at the edges and corners of each micro-square convex protrusion. The laser-treated surfaces were more conducive to rapid cell growth and adhesion, and cells were preferentially attached on the hydrophilic-textured surfaces. Electrostatic force may be an important factor in effectively improving the bioactivity of Ti-6Al-4V surfaces, and the presence of more surface grooves would be more conducive to improving the bioactivity of cells. Previous synergism and enzymatic assays pointed out that CCEs involved spirodiclofen resistance in I T. urticae i , which was subsequently held the involvement of I CCE04 i in spirodiclofen resistance seem more likely to quantitative differences based on kinetic enzyme data [[43]]. The difference in the results obtained in the study of Lv et al. [[67]] and the current study is consistent with spirodiclofen resistance in I T. urticae i [[38]] and I P. ulmi i [[21]], indicating that the spirodiclofen resistance mechanism is complex and may differ among spider mite strains. The level of spirodiclofen resistance in the eggs of this study was different from observations made in I T. urticae i and I P. ulmi i ; eggs from I T. urticae i and I P. ulmi i strains expressing high spirodiclofen resistance in larvae were susceptible to moderate resistance to spirodiclofen [[26], [39]]. Previous studies showed that the inhibitor piperonylbutoxide (PBO) could enhance the toxicity of spirodiclofen in resistant strains ( I T. urticae i , I P. citri i , and I P. ulmi i ), suggesting P450s were involved in spirodiclofen resistance in both tetranychid species [[28], [37], [39]]. Enzymatic assays combined with RNA sequencing results did not indicate the involvement of GST enzymes in the spirodiclofen resistance of I P. citri i , which differs from the results of Lv et al. Chronic kidney disease with uncertain etiology (CKDu) is an emerging health problem in Sri Lanka, particularly among the dry-zone farming communities that use groundwater for drinking. We investigated the quality of groundwater in an area where both high- and low-prevalence clusters of CKDu have been recorded. Eighty-four groundwater and five surface water samples, covering the selected region, were collected and analyzed for both major anions and cations. The groundwater in the region is mainly of the Ca-Mg-HCO3 type, probably due to the long residence time in fractured hard rock aquifers in this region. Irrespective of the CKDu prevalence, over 50% of samples exceeded the recommended limits for EC/TDS, alkalinity, hardness, and Mg2+ content in groundwater. Water hardness in CKDu clusters was dominated by Mg2+. High fluoride content up to 4.0 mg/L was also found in most groundwater samples from the region. The water quality index (WQI) values indicated that 42% of the groundwater samples in regions with no or low CKDu prevalence and 49% of the samples in regions with high prevalence were poor in quality. The spatial distribution of WQI and fluoride concentration overlapped, indicating the direct influence of fluoride on the groundwater quality in the study region. In addition, regions with higher WQI values overlapped with the CKDu hotspots, indicating the direct impact of groundwater quality on the disease prevalence in the studied river basin. Multiple functionalities on a shared aperture are crucial for metasurfaces (MSs) in many applications. In this paper, we propose a coding-feeding metasurface (CFMS) with the multiple functions of high-gain radiation, orbital angular momentum (OAM) generation, and radar cross-section (RCS) reduction based on phase manipulation. The unit cell of the CFMS is composed of a rectangular emission patch and two quasi-Minkowski patches for reflective phase manipulation, which are on a shared aperture. The high-gain radiation and multiple modes of ±1, ±2, and ±3 OAM generation were realized by rationally setting the elements and the phase of their excitation. The CFMS presents a broadband RCS reduction of 8 dB from 3.18 GHz to 7.56 GHz for y-polarization and dual-band RCS reduction for x-polarization based on phase interference. To validate the concept of the CFMS, a prototype was fabricated and measured. The results of the measurement agree well with the simulation. Quantum networks enable many applications beyond the reach of classical networks by supporting the establishment of long-distance entanglement connections, and are already stepped into the entanglement distribution network stage. The entanglement routing with active wavelength multiplexing schemes is urgently required for satisfying the dynamic connection demands of paired users in large-scale quantum networks. In this article, the entanglement distribution network is modeled into a directed graph, where the internal connection loss among all ports within a node is considered for each supported wavelength channel, which is quite different to classical network graphs. Afterwards, we propose a novel first request first service (FRFS) entanglement routing scheme, which performs the modified Dijkstra algorithm to find out the lowest loss path from the entangled photon source to each paired user in order. Pulsar candidate sifting is an essential part of pulsar analysis pipelines for discovering new pulsars. To solve the problem of data mining of a large number of pulsar data using a Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST), a parallel pulsar candidate sifting algorithm based on semi-supervised clustering is proposed, which adopts a hybrid clustering scheme based on density hierarchy and the partition method, combined with a Spark-based parallel model and a sliding window-based partition strategy. Experiments on the two datasets, HTRU (The High Time-Resolution Universe Survey) 2 and AOD-FAST (Actual Observation Data from FAST), show that the algorithm can excellently identify the pulsars with high performance: On HTRU2, the Precision and Recall rates are 0.946 and 0.905, and those on AOD-FAST are 0.787 and 0.994, respectively; the running time on both datasets is also significantly reduced compared with its serial execution mode. To address the issue of poor corrosion resistance of the Mg–Li alloy, electroless Ni–P plating was used to create a protective coating. However, there were significant differences between the upper and lower surface coatings, which were summarized as follows: (1) compared with the lower surface, the longitudinal differences between different areas of the upper surface coating were larger; and (2) the denseness of the upper surface coating was insufficient in areas where the insoluble phase was concentrated, resulting in significantly lower corrosion resistance of the upper surface coating than the lower surface. Resolving these differences could compensate for the defects of the upper surface coating so as to improve the overall corrosion resistance of the material. Therefore, in this paper, the deposition process of Ni–P was observed and speculated, and the reasons for these differences were analyzed in combination with experimental phenomena. Based on these, two optimization measures were proposed. The SEM observation results showed that the differences between the upper and lower surface coatings were significantly reduced after optimization. The results of potentiodynamic polarization tests and EIS tests showed that the optimized upper surface coating had good corrosion resistance similar to the lower surface coating. The balance of the mineral nutrition in mango leaves during the flowering period affects the flowering of mango trees and fruit production. Because the soil in karst areas has a slow and unbalanced supply rate of nutrients, mango orchards in a karst area generally have a low yield. There are few studies on the fertilization of mango orchards in karst areas, especially on the diagnosis of leaf mineral nutrition. In this study, mango orchards in the typical karst areas of Guangxi province, one of the main mango-producing areas in China, were selected from the low-yielding and medium-yielding mango orchards. Surface soil samples and leaf samples from mango orchards in full bloom were collected to test for macronutrients and micronutrients. The Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System (DRIS) graphical method, the DRIS method, the Modified DRIS (M-DRIS), and the Deviation from Optimum Percentage (DOP) index diagnostic methods were applied to the leaves. The results showed that the DRIS graphical analysis yielded appropriate ratios of N, P, K, Mg, S, Fe, Mn, Cu with the corresponding three elements, Ca, Zn, and B, which can be used as reference diagnostic criteria. Based on the values of the DRIS diagnostic criteria for high-yielding orchards, the critical ranges of the suitable values of the mineral nutrients in the Tainong mango leaves during flowering were determined as N (14.87–17.27 g/kg), P (0.69–0.89 g/kg), K (4.45–6.90 g/kg), Ca (9.51–16.55 g/kg), Mg (1.44–2.20 g/kg), S (0.75–1.06 g/kg), Fe (0.10–0.13 g/kg), Mn (0.61–1.02 g/kg), Cu (5.41–8.89 mg/kg), Zn (7.91–18.95 mg/kg), and B (8.38–16.23 mg/kg). The results of the DRIS, M-DRIS, and DOP index methods were analyzed to determine the order of the fertilizer requirements for the low-yielding orchards: Mg > Fe > S > Zn > B > Cu > K > N > P > Mn > Ca, and for the medium-yielding orchards: Mg > Fe > B > Zn > S > Cu > N > Mn > K > P > Ca. The soil and leaf correlation analysis showed that the soil exchangeable Ca and effective Fe were significantly negatively correlated. Leaf Ca and Fe elements had a mutually antagonistic effect, leaf Mn-rich contents inhibited the uptake of the Mg and Fe elements, and low-yielding orchards had an excess of Mn and a deficiency of Mg. We found that there is lack of the Mg and Fe, a low content of the S and B, and an excess of the Ca and Mn in the mango orchards of the Baise karst area. We suggested that the DRIS graphical method is suitable for the diagnosis of three nutrient elements, and either the DRIS or M-DRIS index method can be chosen. A new type of hydroxyalkyl starch, γ-hydroxypropyl starch (γ-HPS), was prepared by etherification of alkali-activated starch with 3-chloropropanol. The reaction efficiency, morphological change, thermodynamic and apparent viscosity properties, and other physicochemical characteristics were described. The molar substitution (MS) of modified whole starch was determined to be 0.008, 0.017, 0.053, 0.106, and 0.178, with a ratio of 5%, 15%, 25%, 35%, and 45% 3-chloropropanol to starch (v/w), respectively. Compared to native starch, the granular size and shape and the X-ray diffraction pattern of γ-HPS are not very different. For low-substituted γ-HPS, the implications may be less evident. Thermal stability measurements by means of thermogravimetric analyses and differential scanning calorimetry (TGA-DSC) proved that thermal stability was reduced and water retaining capacity was increased after hydroxypropylation. Furthermore, the findings also showed that the solubility, light transmittance, and retrogradation of γ-HPS pastes could be improved by etherification. The greater the MS of the γ-HPS, the more its freeze–thaw stability and acid resistivity increased. This study aimed to assess undergraduate students' Information Literacy (IL) abilities in Pakistan. A survey method was employed to collect the necessary data from the population. The participants consisted of students from the Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST), COMSATS University Islamabad, Bahria University (BU) Islamabad, and the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology (FUUAST). The sample consisted of 200 students, randomly selected. A questionnaire was formulated and completed individually. The results produced an alarming result for the selected institutions, as about 52% of students reported that they never went to the library. A similar situation was found across the selected universities, though with BU surpassing other universities with respect to daily use of the library. The responses to the survey indicated students were in a poor position in terms of their ability to identify information sources. Furthermore, most item scores were less than two, indicating that students' recognition and understanding of information sources was in a dangerously precarious condition. The findings also indicated that students' ability to access and use information for assignments, tests, examinations, and the writing of research articles was extremely limited. This could have severe implications for their learning outcomes. According to our findings, students' ability to implement technical best practice in academic work and research was extremely limited, as was their knowledge of and practice in providing appropriate credit to original authors. On the other hand, the students' ability to use social media applications, such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, was relatively strong. We recommend that university libraries should be more involved in the educational process. Convolutional neural networks have achieved great success in analyzing potential features inside tropical cyclones (TCs) using satellite images for intensity estimation. However, due to the high similarity of visual features in TC images, it is still a challenge to learn the accurate mapping between TC images and numerical intensity. Existing works mainly focus on the visual features of a single TC, ignoring the impact of intensity continuity and time evolution among TCs on decision making. Therefore, we propose a DR-transformer framework for temporal TC intensity estimation. Inside DR-transformers, a novel DR-extractor can extract Distance-consistency(DC) and Rotation-invariance (RI) features between TC images, and therefore can better learn the contours, structures, and other visual features of each TC image. DC features can reduce the estimation error between adjacent intensities, and RI features can eliminate feature deviation caused by shooting angles and TC rotation. Additionally, a transformer with a DR-extractor as the backbone is applied to aggregate the temporal correlation in a series of TC images, which can learn the evolution from intensity to the visual features of TC. Experiments show that the final result, an RMSE of 7.76 knots, outperforms the baseline, and is better than any previously reported method trained on the TCIR dataset. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Visual relationship detection (VRD), a challenging task in the image understanding, suffers from vague connection between relationship patterns and visual appearance. This issue is caused by the high diversity of relationship-independent visual appearance, where inexplicit and redundant cues may not contribute to the relationship detection, even confuse the detector. Previous relationship detection models have shown remarkable progress in leveraging external textual information or scene-level interaction to complement relationship detection cues. In this work, we propose Contextual Coefficients Excitation Feature (CCEF), a focal visual representation, which is adaptively recalibrated from original visual feature responses by explicitly modeling the interdependencies between features and their contextual coefficients. Specifically, contextual coefficients are obtained by calculation of both the spatial coefficients and generated-label ones. In addition, a conditional Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Network (WGAN) regularized with a relationship classification loss is designed to alleviate inadequate training of generated-label coefficients due to long tail distribution of relationship. Experimental results demonstrate the effective improvements of our method on relationship detection. Featured Application: The application of this research aims to provide an effective indicator system and evaluation method of energy saving and emission reduction effects for current electricity retailers in China, and give the specific directions for the electric power industry to adopt energy saving and emission reduction actions. China's electricity market is in the environment for a round of new electric power reform, energy planning and transformation and the carbon market construction. The current market players are in urgent need of implementing their own energy saving and emission reduction actions. Relatively extensive and systematic researches on the assessment of the energy saving and emission reduction effects for the power plants, power grid companies, and technical equipment have been carried out at home and abroad. However, there are still vacancies in the researches on those for electricity retailers emerged on the sales side. Based on the carding and analysis of related policies and guidance, in this paper, relevant indicators are considered to build the evaluation indicator system of the energy saving and emission reduction effects for electricity retailers. The combination weights are gained by means of analytic hierarchy process and entropy weight method. Then, after the combined empowerment of indicators, the multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of energy saving and emission reduction effects for electricity retailers is conducted. Finally, choosing 10 electricity retailers (numbered from A to J) as evaluation objects, this model is used for obtaining the evaluation results and ranking of energy saving and emission reduction effects of electricity retailers, which provides reasonable ideas for the construction of evaluation indicator system and effective comprehensive evaluation methods of energy saving and emission reduction effects for market players in the electricity sales side. The results of example analysis show that, from a single dimension, the best electricity retailers in market transactions, technical means, integrated energy services, management system, and social responsibilities are followed by B, J, D, G, C, or I. However, from a global perspective, the sorted evaluation results are D, J, I, A, H, G, E, B, F, and C, which reflects the overall energy saving and emission reduction effects of electricity retailers through the two-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The electricity market of China is currently in the process of a new institutional reform. Diversified electricity retail entities are gradually being established with the opening of the marketing electricity side. In the face of a complex market environment and fierce competition, the operating efficiency can directly reflect the current market position and development of electricity retail companies. TOPSIS method can make full use of the information of original data, calculate the distance between evaluated objects and the ideal solutions and get the relative proximity, which is generally used in the overall department and comprehensive evaluation of the benefits. Least squares support vector machine (LSSVM), with high convergence precision, helps save the training time of algorithm by solving linear equations and is used to predict the comprehensive evaluation value. Considering the ultimate goal of sustainable development, a comprehensive evaluation model on operating efficiency of electricity retail companies based on the improved TOPSIS method and LSSVM optimized by modified ant colony algorithm is proposed in this paper. Firstly, from the view of sustainable development, an operating efficiency evaluation indicator system is constructed. Secondly, the entropy weight method is applied to empower the indicators objectively. After that, based on the improved TOPSIS method, the reverse problem in the evaluation process is eliminated. According to the relative proximity between the evaluated objects and the absolute ideal solutions, the scores of comprehensive evaluation for operating efficiency can then be ranked. Finally, the LSSVM optimized by modified ant colony algorithm is introduced to realize the simplified expert scoring process and fast calculation in the comprehensive evaluation process, and its improved learning and generalization ability can be used in the comprehensive evaluation of similar projects. The example analysis proves that the comprehensive evaluation model proposed in this paper can provide scientific and effective evaluation results of the operating efficiency of electricity retail companies. Plant growth-promoting fungi (PGPF) have attracted considerable interest as bio-fertilisers due to their multiple beneficial effects on plant quantity and quality and their positive relationship with the ecological environment. Advancements in the development of PGPF for crops and economic plant cultivation applications have been achieved, but such improvements for the use of PGPF with popular medicinal herbs, such as Salvia miltiorrhiza, are rare. In this study, we collected S. miltiorrhiza specimens inhabiting wild, semi-wild, farmland and pot-cultured areas in the Henan province of China and isolated endophytes from the roots, shoots and leaves of these samples. Twenty-eight strains of the dominant genus Alternaria were identified and selected as candidate PGPF. Under greenhouse conditions, Alternaria sp. A13 simultaneously enhanced the dry root biomass and secondary metabolite accumulation of S. miltiorrhiza as the optimal PGPF of the 28 candidate isolates. To further assess the interaction between S. miltiorrhiza and Alternaria sp. A13, the effects on seedlings growth, active ingredient accumulation, and the activity of key enzymes for effective biosynthetic pathways were investigated over a period of six months under field conditions. Compared to uninoculated seedlings, S. miltiorrhiza seedlings colonised by Alternaria sp. A13 showed significant increment of 140% in fresh weight, 138% in dry weight, and enhancement in the contents of total phenolic acid, lithospermic acids A and B (LAA and LAB, respectively) of 210%, 128% and 213%, respectively. Examination of the related enzyme activities showed that the elicitation effect of A13 on LAB accumulation correlated with cinnamic acid 4-hydroxylase (C4H) activity in the phenylpropanoid pathway under field conditions. Our results confirmed that Alternaria sp. A13 not only contributes to the stimulation of S. miltiorrhiza root growth, but also boosts the secondary metabolism, thus demonstrating its application potential as a bio-fertiliser for S. miltiorrhiza cultivation, especially in areas outside of its native growth regions. Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) can decompose variables with non-stationary sequence signals into significant regularity and periodicity, which is helpful in improving the accuracy of prediction model. Adding the Gauss perturbation to the traditional Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithm can improve the searching vigor and precision of CS algorithm. The phenolic and chromatic characteristics of a special red ice wine made from a Vitis amurensis × V. vinifera hybrid cultivar Beibinghong were studied. Results from two different vintages (2013 and 2014) showed that during vinification, the phenolic acid content increased, while the level of flavonoids (flavonols, flavan-3-ols, and anthocyanins) reduced by a variable extent. The color intensity and red % decreased together with a decrease in anthocyanin content. This was accompanied by an increase in hue as well as yellow %. The final phenolic content was found to be between 119.54 and 180.93 mg/L, with anthocyanins as the predominant phenolic group (92.06%–93.03%), of which 3,5-O-diglucosidic anthocyanins made up 53.55%–79.04%. Phenolic acids were the primary non-anthocyanin phenolics at about 6.64%–7.5%. The phenolic contents and color parameters of Beibinghong dry red wine and several V. vinifera dry red wines of superior color quality were also used in an attempt to clarify the relationship between phenolics and color in the Beibinghong red ice wine. By using Pearson correlation analysis and principal component analysis (PCA), it was found that 3,5-O-diglucosidic anthocyanins and protocatechuic acid were the only characteristic phenolics that differentiated Beibinghong wines from the other selected red wines from more traditional varieties. They were also the main phenolics to be positively correlated with the hue and yellow % of the wine at the early stages leading into maturation. Taxilli Herba (TAXH) is an important traditional Chinese medicine with a long history, dating from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the present times. However, the active constituents in it that parasitize different hosts vary, affecting its clinical efficacy. Given the complexity of the host origins, evaluating the quality of TAXH is critical to ensure the safety and effectiveness of clinical medication. In the present study, a quantitative method based on ultra-fast liquid chromatography tandem triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (UFLC-QTRAP-MS/MS) was established, which simultaneously determined the content of 33 active constituents, including 12 flavonoids, 4 organic acids, 12 amino acids, and 5 nucleosides in 45 samples. Orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) was employed to classify and distinguish between TAXH and its adulterants, Tolypanthi Herba (TOLH). A hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) was conducted combined with a heatmap to visually observe the distribution regularity of 33 constituents in each sample. Furthermore, gray relational analysis (GRA) was applied to evaluate the quality of samples to get the optimal host. The results demonstrated that TAXH excelled TOLH in quality as a whole. The quality of TAXH parasitizing Morus alba was also better, while those that were parasitic on Cinnamomum camphora and Glyptostrobus pensilis had relatively poor quality. This study may provide comprehensive information that is necessary for quality control and supply a scientific basis for further exploring the quality formation mechanism of TAXH. Biodegradable polymers are a green alternative to apply as the base membrane materials in versatile processes. In this study, two dense membranes were made from biodegradable PGS (poly(glycerol sebacate)) and APS (poly(1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-co-polyol sebacate)), respectively. The prepared membranes were characterized by FE-SEM, AFM, ATR-FTIR, TGA, DSC, water contact angle, and degree of swelling, in comparison with the PDMS (polydimethylpolysiloxane) membrane. In the pervaporation process for five organic solvent/water systems at 37 °C, both biodegradable membranes exhibited higher separation factors for ethanol/water and acetic acid/water separations, while the PDMS membrane attained better effectiveness in the other three systems. In particular, a positive relationship between the separation factor and the swelling ratio of organic solvent to water (DSo/DSw) was noticed. In spite of their biodegradability, the stability of both PGS and APS membranes was not deteriorated on ethanol/water pervaporation for one month. Furthermore, these two biodegradable membranes were applied in the pervaporation of simulated ABE (acetone-butanol-ethanol) fermentation solution, and the results were comparable with those reported in the literature. Poor groundwater quality in household wells is hypothesized as being a potential contributor to chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology (CKDu) in Sri Lanka. However, the influencing factors of groundwater quality in Sri Lanka are rarely investigated at a national scale. Here, the spatial characteristics of groundwater geochemistry in Sri Lanka were described. The relationships of groundwater quality parameters with environmental factors, including lithology, land use, and climatic conditions, were further examined to identify the natural and anthropogenic controlling factors of groundwater quality in Sri Lanka. The results showed that groundwater geochemistry in Sri Lanka exhibited significant spatial heterogeneity. The high concentrations of NO3− were found in the districts that have a higher percentage of agricultural lands, especially in the regions in the coastal zone. Higher hardness and fluoride in groundwater were mainly observed in the dry zone. The concentrations of trace elements such as Cd, Pb, Cu, and Cr of all the samples were lower than the World Health Organization guideline values, while some the samples had higher As and Al concentrations above the guideline values. Principal component analysis identified four components that explained 73.2% of the total data variance, and the first component with high loadings of NO3−, hardness, As, and Cr suggested the effects of agricultural activities, while other components were primarily attributed to natural sources and processes. Further analyses found that water hardness, fluoride and As concentration had positive correlations with precipitation and negative correlations with air temperature. The concentration of NO3− and water hardness were positively correlated with agricultural lands, while As concentration was positively correlated with unconsolidated sediments. The environmental factors can account for 58% of the spatial variation in the overall groundwater geochemistry indicated by the results of redundancy analysis. The groundwater quality data in this study cannot identify whether groundwater quality is related to the occurrence of CKDu. However, these findings identify the coupled controls of lithology, land use, and climate on groundwater quality in Sri Lanka. Biocatalysis refers to the utilization of enzymes, either in purified form, or existed as part of crude cell lysate or intact cells, to catalyze single- or multi-step chemical reactions, converting synthetic molecules or natural metabolites into high-value products. Immobilization of enzymes shows superior effects on, for example, enzyme stability in reaction, enzyme reusability, and bioproducts separation [[14]]. The advantages of using of MOFs to entrap enzymes within their micropores, including minimal enzyme leaching, high enzyme loading, and activity preservation, are exploited by one-pot synthesis of the biocatalysts. Therefore, the information on the preparation of these composites using mild synthesis conditions, as well as their performance in trapping active enzymes are crucial for one-step enzyme immobilization applications using MOFs.
