The article reports on the challenge faced by Apple Computer Inc. in Europe, regarding its digital rights management (DRM). Ties between its iTunes music store and its iPod music players are pressured to be loosened, with activities in Norway, coupled with the demonstrating opposition to the policies of Apple in Great Britain. According to the Consumer Council of Norway, the Consumer Ombudsman asked Apple to change some terms of agreement in its iTunes music store, and to defend the policy of its DRM. In contrast, a law requiring Apple to open its DRM was proposed by France, in order that makers of the players could allow iTunes songs to be played on their devices.
