2. The Role of Digital Story in Promoting Preventive Health Concepts among Primary Stage Students.

The study aims to examine the role of the digital story in promoting the concepts of preventive health among primary-stage students from the viewpoint of primary-stage teachers, using the descriptive approach. To this end, a questionnaire was designed to serve as the study tool, and it consisted of two parts. The first part asked about personal information related to the study sample, and the second part included thirty items within six main concepts of preventive health, namely healthy food, risk management, personal health, environmental health, first aid, and physical health. The questionnaire was distributed among the study sample amounting to 218 male and female teachers for the primary stage. The findings of the study revealed that the digital story has a key role in promoting preventive health concepts among primary-stage students in general. However, the role has a medium degree, due to its positive impact on primary stage teachers by reducing the time and effort used to communicate preventive health concepts to the students. The study recommended the importance of using the digital story in education, especially in the primary stages, in addition to refining the skills of primary stage teachers in how to benefit from the digital story in presenting the concepts of preventive health and in achieving the educational objectives. In this paper, the authors present the results of an empirical study that formed part of the broader research project, "Culture of Educational Institution as a Factor in Co-Construction of Knowledge," at the University of Rijeka. The research was conducted on a sample of 317 elementary class teachers from Croatia and Slovenia. The authors sought to establish how class teachers assess their professionalism in practice; whether they show statistically significant differences in assessing their professionalism and professional development in practice at different stages of their careers.

4. Class Teachers, Subject Teachers and Double Qualified: Conceptions of Teachers' Skills in Early Foreign Language Learning in Finland.

The shift to an earlier start in foreign language teaching in Finland took place nationwide in 2020. Both class teachers and subject teachers faced a new situation. They would be teaching children younger than before, or they would be teaching a completely new subject for them. This article examines teachers' conceptions of the skills and competencies, including required language skills, that are important for a teacher in early foreign language teaching. The data for this study were gathered through essays that teachers (n=44, subject teachers, class teachers, and double qualified teachers) turned in as tasks during an in-service teacher training for early teaching of foreign languages. The essays were analyzed with content analysis. The findings show that teachers found it the most essential that early foreign language teachers have enthusiasm for the job and are able to inspire learners. They also considered it important that teachers focus on learners and the learning environment, as well as have skills for early years pedagogy. The teachers did not consider foreign language education or language skills as important as the other skills but yet wished for teachers to be able to communicate in the target language in the class. 5. Instructional Explanations of Class Teachers and Primary School Mathematics Teachers about Division.

This study is a qualitative research which was conducted in order to reveal the instructional explanations of class teachers and primary school mathematics teachers working in state schools about division. A semi-structured interview form with three open-ended questions about division, prepared for this purpose, was examined by the experts. The semi-structured interview form inluded three questions asking the teachers to solve the long division operations of 3385: 13 = ?, 1238: 12 =? and 102102: 12 =? using the mathematical table of digits with a descriptive language as if they were telling the primary school students the solutions. While the first two questions were suitable with the 5th grade learning outcomes, the third question was suitable with a high level learning outcome. The main purpose of asking the 3rd question was to evaluate the instructional explanation of the teachers in a problem of different difficulty. The study group consisted of 34 teachers, 16 of whom were primary school mathematics teachers and 18 of whom were class teachers, working at central primary schools in a province located in Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey. The content analysis of the data showed that not all of the teachers could interpret the operation of division regarding the concept of digit accurately, and their division was result and reasoning oriented. However, it was found that few teachers made generalizations in a similar way. It was also seen that teachers who were at problemsolving level according to Kinach's (2002b) comprehension level framework could not make sense of the logic underlying the division. In addition, the reason why zero (0) was moved to the quotient and when the divisor sought in remaining number should be completed by the teachers could not be clarified because they did not know the logic of the division. 7. How do students, parents and teachers perceive a good class teacher?

Razrednik ima pomembno vlogo pri šolanju vsakega učenca. Je vez med učenci, starši in učitelji, učitelj pa z razredništvom prav tako pridobi pomembne in zahtevne naloge in vloge. V okviru magistrskega dela sem želela raziskati več področij razredništva, in sicer lastnosti dobrega razrednika, naloge, ki jih opravlja, tematike razrednih ur, sodelovanje s starši, zanimal me je tudi pogled razrednika na njihovo vlogo. V ta namen sem oblikovala vprašalnike, ki jih je izpolnilo 310 učencev predmetne stopnje, 89 staršev in 88 razrednikov. Rezultati so pokazali, da se razredniki zavedajo, katere so tiste lastnosti, ki jih morajo imeti za kakovostno opravljanje svojega dela. Učenci menijo, da sta pri razrednikih najbolj izraženi lastnosti natančnost in pravičnost, razredniki pri sebi zaznavajo najbolj izraženi pravičnost in zaupnost, staršem sta najpomembnejši lastnosti dobrega razrednika natančnost in to, da razrednik pri svojem delu uživa. Kot najmanj izraženi lastnosti sta se pokazali ustvarjalnost in strokovnost. Razredniki so najučinkovitejši pri opravljanju administrativnih, najmanj pa pri opravljanju pedagoških nalog. Učenci si želijo več razrednih ur, kot jih imajo sedaj, kot najpomembnejše tematike za obravnavo so se – pri vseh treh skupinah – pokazali medosebni odnosi, medvrstniško nasilje ter pregled ocen oz. učna problematika. Starši in razredniki menijo, da so tri najpomembnejše in najpogostejše oblike sodelovanja med njimi govorilne ure, roditeljski sestanki in pisno obveščanje. Razredniki svoje delo ocenjujejo kot zahtevno, a se hkrati zavedajo, da so nepogrešljiv člen v šoli. Prav tako poročajo, da ne pridobijo dovolj znanja v okviru študija. Rezultati magistrskega dela so lahko v pomoč tako razrednikom kot tudi svetovalnim delavcem, ki z njimi sodelujejo oz. jim želijo pri delu pomagati. Psihologi imamo namreč kot svetovalni delavci pomembno vlogo v odnosu do dela učitelja. Lahko jih opolnomočimo za delo z učenci in starši hkrati je učitelj dober vir informacij o učencu za svetovalnega delavca. Class teacher plays an important role in the education of each student. By being given the role of a class teacher, one receives important and demanding tasks and roles. Class teachers are the link between students, parents and teachers. As part of my master's thesis, I wanted to research several areas of a class teacher’s work, namely the qualities of a good class teacher, the tasks he or she performs, the topics of class meetings, and the cooperation with parents. I was also interested in class teachers’ view of their role. For this purpose, I designed questionnaires, which were filled out by 310 students from sixth to ninth class, 89 parents and 88 class teachers. The results showed that the class teachers are aware of the qualities they must have to perform their work well. Students believe that thoroughness and fairness are the most prominent qualities of class teachers, the qualities that class teachers themselves perceive as the most pronounced are fairness and confidentiality, and the most important qualities of a good class teacher for parents are thoroughness and the fact that the class teacher enjoys his or her work. The least expressed qualities were creativity and professionalism. Class teachers are most effective in performing administrative tasks, and least effective in performing pedagogical tasks. Students want more class meetings than they have now. Most important themes for class meetings are interpersonal relations, peer violence and review of grades or learning problems. Parents and class teachers believe that the three most important and most common forms of cooperation between them are speaking hours, parent meetings and written notifications. Class teachers assess their work as demanding, but at the same time they are aware that they are an indispensable part of the school. They also report that they do not acquire enough knowledge during their studies. The results of the master's thesis can be of help to both classroom teachers and counsellors who work with them or want to help them with their work. As counsellors, psychologists play an important role in relation to the class teachers and their work. They can empower them for their work with students and parents, and at the same time, the teacher can be a good source of information about an individual student for the counsellor.

- Abstract
According to the Self-Determination Theory, teachers who, through their behavior, provide support for the autonomy of a student are encouraging their better academic achievements. Within this theory, academic regulation is defined as the ability to regulate one's own behavior focused on learning at school. Intrinsic motivation has the greatest importance in schoolwork, and it represents one of the three qualitative types of academic regulation. The aim of the paper is to determine the quality of academic regulation in students who are being educated according to an adjusted program within inclusive schooling, as well as determining the correlation of intrinsic motivation with high support for student autonomy given by class teachers. Research was conducted on a sample of 123 students who attended classes with the adjusted program, age eight to ten and eleven months. Raven's progressive matrices confirm a lower level of intellectual functioning of students from the sample who attend classes according to the adjusted program. Sample was comprised of 48 class teachers. In gathering of the data, Academic Self-Regulation Questionnaire and The Problems in Schools Questionnaire were used. The results of the research imply dominance of academically identified regulation. The correlation of intrinsic motivation and the high support of student autonomy is confirmed. The high support of autonomy by teachers explains 28.1% of the variance of student intrinsic motivation. The paper considers practical implications of the conducted research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bu çalışma, Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsünde Sedat Yüksel'in danışmanlığında Kadir Dağlı tarafından yazılan "Suriyeli sığınmacı öğrencilerin matematik dersi kazanımları elde etme sürecinde ikinci sınıf öğretmenlerinin karşılaştığı sorunlar" adlı yüksek lisans tezine dayanılarak hazırlanmıştır. Bu araştırmanın amacı ilkokul ikinci sınıf öğretmenlerinin Suriyeli sığınmacı öğrencilere matematik kazanımlarını edindirme sürecinde karşılaştıkları zorlukları ortaya koymaktır. Nitel bir araştırma olan bu çalışmada temel nitel araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Bursa'da Suriyeli sığınmacı öğrencilerin yoğun olarak bulunduğu okullarda görev yapan 13 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme ile toplanmış ve betimsel analiz ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin Suriyeli sığınmacı öğrencilerin diğer derslere göre matematik dersini daha çok sevdikleri ve matematik dersinde daha başarılı oldukları görüşünde oldukları ortaya çıkmıştır. Öğretmenler matematik dersi kazanımlarına ilişkin olarak Suriyeli sığınmacı öğrencilerin genel olarak aritmetik ve geometrik kazanımlarda zorlanmazken akademik dil gerektiren problem çözme veri toplama kazanımlarına ulaşmada zorlandıkları görüşündedirler. The purpose of this qualitative study is to present the challenges faced by 2nd-grade teachers in the process of helping Syrian refugee students acquire mathematics learning outcomes. The study group of the research consisted of 13 teachers working in schools in Bursa where Syrian refugee students are concentrated. Study data were collected by means of semi-structured interviews and analyzed with descriptive analysis. Findings revealed that the teachers reported that Syrian refugee students liked mathematics more than other classes and that they were more successful in mathematics. Regarding the mathematics learning outcomes, the teachers stated that while Syrian refugee students generally did not have difficulty reaching arithmetic and geometric outcomes, they had difficulty achieving problem-solving and data collection outcomes that required academic language.

In an effort to ensure a high level of implementation and increase the efficiency of the use of teaching aids in music education, a research was conducted in the academic 2014/2015 with an aim to test whether the educational level of teachers, the number of years of their experience at work, and the particular school in which the teachers are employed influence their selection of teaching aids used in the course in music education. The aim of the study was to determine whether the selection and use of teaching aids influences the quality of teaching the course in music education. The attitudes of participants were studied by means of a questionnaire specifically designed for the present research. The total sample comprised 113 primary school class teachers. The study so conducted has determined the current situation in the teaching practice, any significant differences emerging from the connection between the use of teaching aids in the course in music education and a number of general variables, including any prior elementary musical education of the teachers themselves.

17. Physical education class teachers' self-evaluation of competency

Starting from the importance of the teacher's competencies for the realization of the Physical Education curriculum the aim of the research was to examine self-evaluation of competencies of the class teachers of Physical Education (knowledge, planning, realization, evaluating) from the aspects of actual and desired levels. Also, the aim was to examine the teachers' self-evaluation regarding the realization of concrete curricular contents. The sample included688 teachers from 54 schools in Belgrade. A specially construed questionnaire was applied. The results show that the class teachers evaluate positively their own competencies for the realization of the subject Physical Education, but also that they would like to reach a higher level of competence. Significant differences in self-evaluation were found concerning years of service and some concrete competences, while there were no differences concerning the teachers' educational levels. Significant differences appeared in self-evaluation of readiness of the teachers to perform adequately the contents of Physical Education and their realization in class. The results indicate the need for better training both through initial teacher education and in-service teacher training.

- Abstract
The quality of education dictates the stability of social development and global economic competitiveness of a country. Namely, “the measure of success for any education and training system should be what people actually learn from it, and how effectively” (Jessup, 1991: 2). Educational standards constitute one of the solutions for raising the quality of education. Uncontestably, they bear immense importance for the general improvement of an education system. However, they are no less crucial for achieving excellence and providing equal opportunities to all students. Likewise, it should be emphasized that educational standards represent a distinctive feature of what is known as the new concept of education or education based on standards. This manner of organizing primary and secondary education originated in America. More specifically, it emerged in the USA, Great Britain, and Australia, but was soon adopted by many countries (e.g., China,India, South Korea, Brazil, Germany, France, and Russia) In fact, over the past three decades, the application of educational standards has spread across the world.

Bu çalışmanın amacıDenizli ili köy ve ilçe merkezinde görev yapan sınıf öğretmenlerinin halkla etkileşim ve mesleki memnuniyette karşılaştığısorunlar ve bu sorunların performansına etkisi konusundaki görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Denizli’nin ilçelerindeki resmi ilköğretim okullarından 321 ve köylerindeki resmi ilköğretim okullarından 272 sınıf öğretmeni veri toplama aracınıuygulamak üzere oranlıküme örnekleme yoluyla seçilerek örnekleme alınmıştır. Geliştirilen ölçeğin sorunla karşılaşma derecesinde Alpha iç tutarlılık katsayısı0,89’, sorunun performansa etkisinde 0,91 dir. Köyde ve ilçe merkezinde görev yapan sınıf öğretmenlerinin halkla etkileşim boyutunda karşılaştığısorunlar ve bu sorunların performansına etkisi konusunda ölçekteki görüşlerinin aritmetik ortalamasına göre halkla etkileşim sorunlarının en önemlisi “Halk öğretmenine güven duymuyor” dur. Köyde ve ilçe merkezinde görev yapan sınıf öğretmenlerinin mesleki memnuniyet boyutunda karşılaştığısorunlar ve bu sorunların performansına etkisi konusunda ölçekteki görüşlerinin aritmetik ortalamasına göre mesleki memnuniyet sorunlarının en önemlisi ise “Bulunduğum okulda görev yapmak ruh sağlığımıolumsuz etkiliyor” dur.

In an effort to ensure a high level of implementation and increase the efficiency of the use of teaching aids in music education, a research was conducted in the academic 2014/2015 with an aim to test whether the educational level of teachers, the number of years of their experience at work, and the particular school in which the teachers are employed influence their selection of teaching aids used in the course in music education. The aim of the study was to determine whether the selection and use of teaching aids influences the quality of teaching the course in music education. The attitudes of participants were studied by means of a questionnaire specifically designed for the present research. The total sample comprised 113 primary school class teachers. The study so conducted has determined the current situation in the teaching practice, any significant differences emerging from the connection between the use of teaching aids in the course in music education and a number of general variables, including any prior elementary musical education of the teachers themselves. The frequency of bullying and the consequences for the child's development encourage targeted social pedagogical assistance in Lithuanian schools. The article reveals the opportunities of social pedagogical assistance at school for students who have experienced bullying by peers. The results of the qualitative research (partially structured interviews with school leaders, social pedagogues, and class teachers) are presented. The analysis of the research results has revealed that the following social pedagogical support measures are applied at school: the provision of emotional support, consultations, social skills classes, work with parents, individual conversations and etc.. The main difficulties identified by the informants in assisting students are the lack of parental cooperation, the passivity of teachers and a lack of staff competencies to deal with bullying situations. By increasing the possibilities of social pedagogical assistance at school, the informants offer to increase parental responsibility, improve pedagogues‘ competencies, cooperate with assistance organisations.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, zihinsel yetersizlikten etkilenmiş kaynaştırma öğrencilerinin sınıf öğretmenlerine sağlanan özel eğitim hizmetlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma kaynaştırma eğitim ortamlarına yerleştirilmiş 56 zihinsel yetersizlikten etkilenmiş öğrenci ve 50 sınıf öğretmeni ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada Bursa ili merkez ilçelerinde bulunan, 32 farklı ilkokul ve 50 farklı sınıfta çalışan sınıf öğretmenleri ile görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler sırasında öğretmenler için öğretmen görüşme formu, öğrenciler için öğrenci bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Öğretmenlere ve öğrencilere kaynaştırma uygulamalarına yönelik özel eğitim hizmetlerinin sağlanma durumlarının belirlenmesi için formlar öğretmenler ile birebir görüşülerek uygulanmıştır. Araştırmaya dâhil edilen öğrencilerin, kimlik ve eğitim bilgileri, eğitim ortamlarına yerleştirme süreç ve kararlarına yönelik bilgiler, öğrenci için hazırlanan plan ve programlara yönelik bilgiler kayıtlı bulundukları okulları, İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlükleri, ilçelerindeki Rehberlik Araştırma Merkezlerinden alınarak öğrenci bilgi formları oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmada sınıf öğretmenlerine sağlanan özel eğitim hizmetlerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yöneltilen sorulara sınıf öğretmenlerinin hizmetlerin sağlanma ve sağlanmama durumlarına ilişkin verdikleri cevaplar kayıt edilerek veriler oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın bulgularına bakıldığında, sınıflarında zihinsel yetersizlikten etkilenmiş kaynaştırma öğrencisi bulunan sınıf öğretmenlerinin; ilçe özel eğitim değerlendirme kurulu raporlarının hazırlanmasına, okullarında BEP geliştirme birimi bulunmasına, önerilen özel eğitim hizmetlerine, RAM’lar tarafından hazırlanan Eğitim Planlarına, hazırlanan BEP içeriklerine, sınıf içi destek ve destek eğitim odalarına yönelik olumlu görüşler belirttikleri görülmüştür. Ayrıca araştırmada sınıf öğretmenlerinin BEP geliştirmeye yönelik yardım alma, destek hizmetlerden faydalanma, zihinsel yetersizlikten etkilenmiş çocuklar ve eğitimleri ile ilgili aldıkları ders, destek hizmetlere gereksinim durumlarına ilişkin ise olumsuz görüşler belirttikleri görülmüştür. This study aims to identify the special education services provided to the teachers of inclusive education students with mild ID. The study was conducted with 56 students with mild ID who were in inclusive education environments, and 50 class teachers. During the study, interviews were carried out with class teachers who worked in 32 different primary schools and 50 different classrooms in the central boroughs of Bursa. During the interviews, teacher interview forms were used for the teachers, and student forms were used for the students. In order to identify how special education services for inclusive education were provided to teachers and students, the forms were filled in for each teacher in individual interviews. The personal and educational information of the students participating in the study, as well as how and why they were placed in educational settings were filled in by receiving information from their schools they were registered at,District National Education Directorate and Research and Application Centres. The answers the teachers gave for the provision of special education services to teachers were recorded, and in this way, data was obtained. When the findings of the research are studied, it is observed that the teachers of inclusive education students with mild ID had positive views on special education evaluation board reports, having IEP units at their schools, suggested special education services, Educational Plans prepared by Research and Application Centres, the content of IEP, in-class support, and specialized education offices. On the other hand, the teachers participating in the study have expressed negative thoughts on receiving assistance for IEP development, making use of supportive services, their classes on children with ID, and the need for specialized education.

The aim of this research is to come up with views and opinions of class teachers about how much 4th-class students in primary school get attainments from music education programme, and determine encountered problems with their reasons. The research where qualitative research technique and data collection method have been used, focuses on 14 class teachers who provide education in educational institutions of Mersin City during 2014-2015 Educational Period under Ministry of National Education. From the research, it is concluded that students confront following problems with attainments such as vocalizing the melodies with different rhythmical structures, using basic musical texts and objects, showing loudness level of music by graphics, categorizing basic characteristics of notes, vamping with their own rhythmical template, vocalizing their own melodies, converting the same-different melody series of music into the dance, voluntarily participating in creation of common music archive in the class, using information technologies in the musical researches, improving their own musical inclination-culture by listening to different genres of music and participating in musical activities.

Süreç temelli yazma yaklaşımı, yapılandırmacı öğrenme kuramı anlayışına göre önceden aşamalandırılmış yazma sürecini öğretmenlerin bilişsel desteği ile düzenlemeyi hedeflemektedir. Süreç temelli yazma, öğrencinin yazma sürecini planlama, geliştirme ve düzeltme becerisi kazanmasına yardım etmektedir. Süreç temelli yazma, öğrencinin yazma sürecinin her aşamasına ilişkin bilişsel farkındalık becerisi kazanmasını sağlamaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı sınıf öğretmenlerinin süreç temelli yazma çalışmalarına ilişkin görüşlerini incelemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında Bartın il merkezinde bulunan ilkokullarda görev yapan sınıf öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi ise rastgele küme örnekleme yoluyla seçilen 101 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın yöntemi tarama modelindedir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen süreç temelli yazma uygulamalarını değerlendirmeye yönelik 20 maddeden oluşan 5’li likert tipi anket formu kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin geçerlilik çalışması yapılmış, faktör yük değeri %40’in altındaki maddeler ölçekten çıkarılmıştır. Ölçeğin alpha güvenirlik katsayısı .88 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde istatistiksel işlemlerden aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma ve t- testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda sınıf öğretmenlerinin süreç temelli yazma konusunda cinsiyete göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği, farklılığın kadın öğretmenler lehine olduğu belirlenmiştir. Süreç temelli yazma konusunda mezun olunan fakülteye göre anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu, farklılığın eğitim fakültesinden mezun olanların lehine olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca mesleki kıdem değişkenine göre 1-10 yıl ile 11 yıl ve yukarısı arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu, farklılığın 11 yıl ve yukarısı lehine olduğu görülmüştür. Process-oriented writing approach aims to arrange the pre-staged writing process with the cognitive support of teachers based on the constructivist learning theory. Process-oriented writing helps the student plan, improve and edit the writing process. Process-oriented writing allows the students to acquire cognitive awareness skills for each stage of the writing process. The purpose of this research was to reveal opinions of the class teachers about process-oriented writing. The population of the research was composed of class teachers working at elementary schools in Bartın city center in 2017-2018 academic year while the sample consisted of 101 class teachers selected via random cluster sampling design. The survey model was employed in the study. A 5-point Likert-type scale which was developed by the researchers and consisted of 20 items was used to evaluate process-oriented writing practices.The validity study of the scale was made and the items with a factor load value less than 40% were removed from the scale. The alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was calculated as .88. Mean, standard deviation and t-test were used for data analysis. As a result of the research, it was found that the class teachers showed a significant difference in process-oriented writing by their genders, and the difference was in favor of the female teachers. It was also revealed that there was a significant difference by the faculties they graduated from in process-oriented writing, and the difference was in favor of the ones graduated from faculty of education. Furthermore, it was found that there was a significant difference between the teachers with 1-10 years of seniority and the ones with 11 years and more of seniority, and the difference was in favor of the latter.

The frequency of bullying and the consequences for the child's development encourage targeted social pedagogical assistance in Lithuanian schools. The article reveals the opportunities of social pedagogical assistance at school for students who have experienced bullying by peers. The results of the qualitative research (partially structured interviews with school leaders, social pedagogues, and class teachers) are presented. The analysis of the research results has revealed that the following social pedagogical support measures are applied at school: the provision of emotional support, consultations, social skills classes, work with parents, individual conversations and etc.. The main difficulties identified by the informants in assisting students are the lack of parental cooperation, the passivity of teachers and a lack of staff competencies to deal with bullying situations. By increasing the possibilities of social pedagogical assistance at school, the informants offer to increase parental responsibility, improve pedagogues‘ competencies, cooperate with assistance organisations.

Väitekirja elektrooniline versioon ei sisalda publikatsioone, Tekstimõistmine on oluline oskus, mis aitab ühiskonnas toime tulla. See on protsess, mis hõlmab sõnade dekodeerimist ja teabe analüüsi. Tekstimõistmist mõjutab mitu tegurit, kõige tähtsamateks neist peetakse õpilastest tõukuvaid tegureid (nt sõnavara areng, lugemishuvi, vanuselised ja soolised erinevused) ning õpetajate õpetamisstrateegiaid. Doktoritöös uuriti kahte strateegiate rühma: 1) üldisi õpetamisstrateegiaid ja nende rakendamist eesti keele tunnis; 2) keeleõppe strateegiaid, mille kaudu arendavad õpetajad eesti keele tunnis õpilaste tekstimõistmist, sõnavara ja lugemishuvi. Üldisi õpetamisstrateegiaid rakendatakse sagedamini Eesti põhikooli esimeses kooliastmes, kus õppimine on rohkem lõimitud ja vähem ainepõhine. Õpilaste vanuse lisandudes ja oskuste arenedes on vaja rohkem spetsiifilisi õpetamisstrateegiaid (nt keeleõppe strateegiad eesti keele tunnis), sest õpetamine muutub ainekesksemaks. Seetõttu keskendutakse doktoritöös ka nendele keeleõppe strateegiatele, mis on põhikooli teises kooliastmes enam levinud. Doktoritöös selgitati välja õpilaste ealised ja soolised erinevused tekstimõistmisel ning õpetamisstrateegiate mõju põhikooli esimese kooliastme õpilaste tekstimõistmisele, sõnavarale ja lugemishuvile. Uuringust ilmnes, et tüdrukud edestasid poisse pikaajaliselt nii sõnavara tundmises kui ka tekstimõistmises. Veel näitasid tulemused, et õpilased, kellel oli hea tekstimõistmine nooremates klassides, saavutasid paremaid tulemusi ka vanemates klassides. Lisaks selgus, et õpetajad kasutasid eesti keele tundides peamiselt kolme eri strateegiat: aktiivset õpetamist, tekstimõistmise toetamist ja grammatikareeglite õpetamist. Esimese kooliastme õpetajad eelistasid kõige enam aktiivset õpetamist. Seevastu teise kooliastme õpetajad rakendasid kõige rohkem grammatikareeglite õpetamise strateegiat. Doktoritöös selgus, et õpetamisstrateegiad mõjutavad õpilaste tekstimõistmist, sõnavara tundmist ja lugemishuvi otseselt ja kaudselt. Õpetamisstrateegiate efektiivne kasutamine toetab õpilaste lugemist ja lugemishuvi. Seejuures osutus lugemishuvi arendamise strateegia nii tekstimõistmise, sõnavara tundmise kui ka lugemishuvi toetamisel kõige tõhusamaks. Teatud õpetamisstrateegiate kasutamine võib mõjutada õpilaste lugemishuvi, mis omakorda võib pärssida tekstimõistmise arengut. Seetõttu peaksid õpetajad tekstimõistmise õpetamisel ja grammatikareeglite rakendamisel võtma arvesse õpilaste vanuselisi eripärasid ja võimeid. Doktoritöö tulemused näitasid, et lugemishuvi mängib õpilaste tekstimõistmisel tähtsat rolli. Lugemishuvi arendamise strateegia toetas kõiki uuritud lugemistulemusi: õpilaste tekstimõistmist, sõnavara arendamist ja lugemishuvi. Kui eesmärk on edendada õpilaste tekstimõistmist, tuleb teadvustada, kui oluline on lugemishuvi roll protsessis., Text comprehension is considered a basic life skill that will provide a cornerstone for students’ in life overall. It is a process that involves decoding words and analysing information. Text comprehension is affected by several factors, the most important of these being student-related factors (such as vocabulary development, age, gender, and reading interest) and teachers’ teaching strategies. In the thesis, the general teaching strategies and the language teaching strategies were studied. General teaching strategies are more often used in the Estonian first stage of primary school (from first to third grade: ages 7 to 10 years), where learning is more integrated and less subject-based. As the students become older, there is a need for more specific teaching strategies (such as language teaching strategies in native-language lessons), because teaching becomes more subject oriented. Therefore, subject-based teaching strategies are introduced, which are more prevalent in the second stage of primary school (from fourth to sixth grade: ages 11 to 13 years). The aim was to determine age and gender differences in text comprehension and the effects of teaching strategies on primary school students’ text comprehension, vocabulary, and reading interest. The results revealed that in terms of vocabulary and text comprehension, gender was shown to play a significant role in students’ performance where girls continue to outperform boys. Also, students with good results in the lower grades of primary school also performed well in the upper grades. According to the results, Estonian primary school teachers used three specific types teaching strategies in their lessons: supporting active learning, teaching text comprehension, and teaching grammar. Supporting active learning was most popular among first-to-third grade teachers. Meanwhile, fourth-to-sixth grade teachers favoured teaching grammar to their students. In the thesis it was revealed that teaching strategies affect students’ text comprehension, vocabulary and rading interest directly and indirectly. Properly chosen general and language teaching strategies help to support students’ text comprehension, and interest in reading. The frequent use of reading interest strategy supported students’ vocabulary, text comprehension, and reading interest. Teachers should be cautious when implementing text comprehension and grammar strategies. The use of these teaching strategies can affect students’ interest in reading, which in turn can inhibit the development of comprehension. Therefore, teachers should be aware of their students’ strengths and weaknesses in language learning in order to give better support to their text comprehension, vocabulary, and reading interest. The findings of the thesis demonstrate that interest in reading plays an important role in students’ text comprehension. The strategy for developing reading interest supported all the studied reading outcomes: students’ text comprehension, vocabulary development, and reading interest. В статье рассматривается процесс профилактики мобильной зависимости подростков, реализуемый классным руководителем. В ходе работы выявлены особенности подростков, склонных к мобильной зависимости: неудовлетворенность собой и своими возможностями, сомнения в способности вызвать уважение, высокий уровень ситуативной тревожности, низкий уровень коммуникативных умений и высокий уровень одиночества. The article discusses the process of prevention of mobile addiction of adolescents, implemented by the classroom teacher. In the course of the work, the features of adolescents prone to mobile addiction were revealed: dissatisfaction with themselves and their capabilities, doubts about the ability to arouse respect, a high level of situational anxiety, a low level of communication skills and a high level of loneliness.

Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Teknolojinin gelişmesi ile birlikte bilgiye ulaşmanın kolaylaşması ve küreselleşme sonucu artan toplumsal rekabet 21.yy insanından beklenen niteliklerin farklılaşmasına sebep olmuştur. Bu bağlamda özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkelerin hükümet politikalarında eğitimli nüfusu arttırmak ve yaşam boyu öğrenmeye yönelik girişimler önem kazanmıştır. Özellikle kalabalık nüfusa sahip olan ülkelerde eğitime olan talebin örgün eğitimle karşılanmasında yaşanan sıkıntılar farklı yönelimleri gerekli kılmıştır. Tarihi 1800 ‘lü yıllara dayanan fakat işlevsel olarak kullanımı teknolojinin gelişimi paralelinde gerçekleşen uzaktan eğitim modeli bu yönelimlerden biridir. Eğitimde zaman mekân sınırlılığını kaldırmak, düşük maliyetle daha geniş kitlelere eğitim vermek ve eğitimde fırsat eşitliği sağlamak gibi sebeplerle sunulan uzaktan eğitim faaliyetleri gittikçe yaygınlaşmakta ve önemli hale gelmektedir. Ülkemizde yaşam boyu öğrenme, mesleki gelişim, örgün eğitimi destekleme ve yüz yüze eğitim faaliyetlerinin gerçekleştirilememesi durumlarında önemi bir alternatif olan uzaktan eğitim uygulamaları hakkında sistemin uygulayıcısı olan öğretmenlerin görüşlerine yönelik yeteri kadar araştırma bulunmamaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı yakın gelecekte eğitimin asli zemini olacağı ön görülen uzaktan eğitim uygulamalarına ilişkin sınıf öğretmenlerinin görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmada yöntem olarak betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ülkenin yedi coğrafi bölgesini temsil edecek şekilde farklı il /ilçelerde uzaktan eğitim yöntemiyle ders veren, 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılında özel okullarda ve devlet okullarında görev yapmakta olan 448 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri “Öğretmenlerin Uzaktan Eğitim Algıları Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Yapılan araştırmada uzaktan eğitim uygulamaları; öğretmenlerin uzaktan eğitimde kendilerine ilişkin algıları, uzaktan eğitimin uygulanışına yönelik algıları, uzaktan eğitimde öğretim uygulamalarına ilişkin algıları, uzaktan eğitime yönelik tutumları ve uzaktan eğitimde verilen ödevlere ilişkin düşünceleri boyutlarında incelenmiştir. Verilerin toplanması Google formlar aracılığı ile çevrimiçi olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde frekans ve yüzde dağılımları kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğretmenlerin genelinin uzaktan eğitime yönelik kendilerini yetkin gördükleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin çoğunun uzaktan eğitim için gerekli olan yeni nesil teknolojilerini kullanmaya yatkın oldukları ayrıca uzaktan eğitim konusunda materyal ve içerik bulmakta zorlanmadıkları görülmüştür. Uzaktan eğitim sürecinde iletişim, sınıf yönetimi, uzaktan eğitimde dersleri öğrenciye göre bireyselleştirme ve özellikle TV derslerine yönelik olumsuz görüşe sahip oldukları sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırmada yüz yüze eğitim ve uzaktan eğitimin kıyaslandığı maddelerde ise genel olarak geleneksel eğitimin lehine sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Yapılan araştırma, gelecekte yapılacak olan uzaktan eğitim faaliyetlerine ışık tutması ve uzaktan eğitimde eksik görülen yerlerin tespit edilmesi ve geliştirilmesi açısından önemlidir., With the development of technology, the ease of access to information and the increasing social competition as a result of globalization have led to the differentiation of the qualities expected from 21st century people. In this context, initiatives aimed at increasing the educated population and lifelong learning have gained importance especially in the government policies of developing countries. The difficulties experienced in meeting the demand for education through formal education, especially in countries with large populations, necessitated different orientations. The distance education model, whose history dates back to the 1800s, but whose functional use is realized in parallel with the development of technology, is one of these orientations. Distance education activities, which are offered for reasons such as removing time and space limitations in education, providing education to wider masses at low cost, and providing equal opportunities in education, are becoming increasingly widespread and important. In our country, there is not enough research on the opinions of teachers who are the implementers of the system about distance education applications, which are an important alternative in cases where lifelong learning, professional development, supporting formal education and face-to-face education activities cannot be carried out. The aim of this research is to determine the opinions of classroom teachers about distance education applications, which are predicted to be the main ground of education in the near future. The descriptive survey model was used as a method in the research. The sample of the research consists of 448 classroom teachers who teach in different provinces/districts in different provinces/districts to represent the seven geographical regions of the country, and who work in private and public schools in the 2020-2021 academic year. Research data were collected with the "Teachers' Perceptions of Distance Education Scale". Distance education applications in the research; teachers' perceptions of themselves in distance education, their perceptions of the application of distance education, their perceptions of teaching practices in distance education, their attitudes towards distance education and their thoughts about the homework given in distance education were examined. Data collection was carried out online via Google forms. Frequency and percentage distributions were used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the research, it was concluded that the general teachers consider themselves competent in distance education. It has been observed that most of the teachers are inclined to use the new generation technologies necessary for distance education, and they do not have difficulty in finding materials and content on distance education. It has been concluded that they have negative opinions about communication, classroom management, individualization of distance education lessons according to the student and especially TV lessons in the distance education process. In the research, in the items where face-to-face education and distance education were compared, results were generally in favor of traditional education. The research is important in terms of shedding light on the distance education activities to be carried out in the future and identifying and developing the areas that are seen as missing in distance education.
