The article reports on the result of a study made on leaf samples of Poa annua and Agrostis stolonifera which showed discoloration after air temperatures reached 25 degrees Celsius. The discoloration was due to narrow yellow rings similar to yellow patches caused by Rhizoctonia cerealis. Leaf samples taken from the affected plants growing in a golf course in Toronto were analyzed and its ribosomal Deoxyribonucleic nucleic acid (DNA) showed a 99.6 percent resemblance with a R. zeae sequence in GenBank.
