A survey on diatoms diversity and abundance conducted in Iranian waters of the Persian Gulf around Bushehr area in 2004. We used six transects each comprising three sampling stations and sampled diatoms seasonally and found that total diatoms diversity was 97 species and the class Bacillariophyceae was the most diverse and abundant community. The highest diversity in winter with 63 species and the lowest in summer with eight species were observed. We also found the highest abundance of the diatoms in autumn with 627067 cells per cubic meter and the lowest in summer with 345139 cells per cubic meter. Totally, diatoms with an average density of 475336 cells per cubic meter comprised 33.7% of the phytoplankton community. Diatoms had a higher density in lower layers of the water column compared to the middle and upper layers. However, a one-way ANOVA did not show a significant difference in diatoms density in different layers of the water column. Using ANOVA, we showed that diatoms density in different seasons were significantly different.

The important roles played by the supremum property and the Bolzano-Weierstrass theorem are emphasized. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é estabelecer três resultados fundamentais de Análise Real sobre funções reais contínuas em intervalos fechados e limitados, a saber, o teorema do valor intermediário, o teorema de Weierstrass e a continuidade uniforme de tais funções. Os papéis importantes desempenhados pela propriedade do supremo e pelo teorema de Bolzano-Weierstrass são enfatizados.

For this, the experience of the State Department of Education of Rio de Janeiro (SEEDUC) with the discipline Mathematical Problem Solving (MPS) was observed, based on a research carried out in 2016 and a new research carried out by this work, which served to confront and give continuity to previous research. It is also presented an account of the experience about some activities that were developed in the third bimester of the 2018 school year, according to the Mathematics teaching methodology, through problem solving, with students of a school of the municipal network of Rio de Janeiro located in the Realengo neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro, RJ. The results obtained with an evaluation test applied to three classes of this school, with only one activity being carried out, indicate that it would be productive to the municipality of the city of Rio de Janeiro to invest in broader research in order to investigate the gains in the teaching-learning process of Mathematics that the RPM discipline could bring if it were implemented in all the schools of the network of the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo investigara eficácia da metodologia de resolução de problemas no ensino da Matemática e, especificamente, verificar os ganhos no processo de ensino-aprendizagem da Matemática que esta metodologia poderá trazer para os alunos das escolas municipais do Rio de Janeiro. Para isso, foi observada a experiência da Secretaria de Estado de Educação do Rio de Janeiro (SEEDUC) com a disciplina Resolução de Problemas Matemáticos (RPM) a partir de uma pesquisa realizada no ano de 2016 e uma nova pesquisa realizada por este trabalho, que serviu para confrontar e dar continuidade à pesquisa anterior. É apresentado também um relato da experiência sobre algumas atividades que foram desenvolvidas no terceiro bimestre do ano letivo de 2018, segundo a metodologia do ensino da Matemática, através da resolução de problemas, com alunos de uma escola da rede municipal do Rio de Janeiro localizada no bairro de Realengo, Rio de Janeiro, RJ. Os resultados obtidos com um teste de avaliação aplicados a três turmas desta escola, sendo que em apenas uma foram desenvolvidas as atividades, indicam que seria produtivo à prefeitura do município do Rio de Janeiro investir em pesquisas mais amplas com a finalidade de investigar quais os ganhos no processo de ensino-aprendizagem da Matemática que a disciplina RPM poderia trazer caso fosse implementada em todas as escolas da rede do município do Rio de Janeiro

Therefore, through the Chapter 1, first we ll show an historic resume related to the concept of function s evolution, followed by the discussion around of multiple subdivisions that this concept provides, permitting, after that, a pointing of what hope to find in a material, besides the explanation about what becomes a mathematical text. The Chapter 2 will exhibit all methodology of our research, focusing the qualitative researches and, sequentially, we ll talk about Content Analysis showed by Bardin (1977), primordial to guide our view over materials, defining too the codification we used. We ll introduce all over the Chapter 3 the theoretical basis of this research, including the concepts of kernel, language, cursory and conceptual preparation and sign. At the last but one chapter will have an introduction to the two books that will be analyzed and the restrictions to the chapters from each work, followed immediately by their individual analysis. In Chapter 5 we ll put our consideration about all collected data from those two materials. O objetivo desta dissertação consiste em mostrar uma aplicação da Análise Textual proposta por Dormolen (1986) especificamente sobre a noção de função, estendendo-se ao estudo das funções polinomiais do primeiro grau, em dois materiais didáticos e compará-los: um livro aprovado pelo Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD), em 2018, e um material elaborado por uma rede particular de ensino do Rio de Janeiro. Para tanto, ao longo do Capítulo 1, primeiramente exibiremos um resumo histórico pertinente à evolução do conceito de função, seguido da discussão acerca das múltiplas ramificações que o mesmo proporciona, possibilitando, após isso, a pontuação do que esperar encontrar em um material didático, além da explanação do que viria a ser um texto matemático. No Capítulo 2 será exibida toda a metodologia de nossa pesquisa, dando enfoque às pesquisas qualitativas e, sequencialmente, conversaremos sobre a Análise de Conteúdo apresentada por Bardin (1977), fundamental para guiar nosso olhar sobre os materiais didáticos, definindo, também, nossa codificação utilizada. Apresentaremos por todo o Capítulo 3 a fundamentação teórica em que esta pesquisa se baseia, inclusive os conceitos de núcleo, linguagem, sequenciamento e condicionamento conceituais e signo. No penúltimo capítulo haverá uma introdução às duas obras que serão analisadas e as restrições aos capítulos ou módulos de cada livro a que restringiremos nosso olhar, imediatamente seguidas pelas análises individuais das mesmas. The first contact of students with the content of geometry being only theoretically demotivates and grows the myth that mathematics is difficult. Using the methodology of bibliographical and field research, and believing that activities and games motivate learning, this work presents activities aimed at teaching triangles for classes from sixth to ninth grade of elementary school. Activities were developed, some of which were applied in the classroom by the author in classes of the public network, in order to arouse the students' greatest interest in the subject, treating in a more playful way with the support of concrete material. After the activities were carried out, there was a greater interest of the students, who started to participate more in the classes, without the fear of making mistakes and facing the subjects that were once said boring and difficult as challenges, which generated a greater autonomy of the same ones. Os triângulos são estudados na Geometria Euclidiana e as aulas, puramente teóricas, não despertam o interesse dos alunos. O primeiro contato dos alunos com o conteúdo da Geometria sendo de forma apenas teórica desmotiva e faz crescer o mito de que a Matemática é difícil. Usando a metodologia de pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo, e acreditando que atividades e jogos motivam o aprendizado, este trabalho apresenta atividades voltadas ao ensino de triângulos para turmas de sexto ao nono ano do ensino fundamental. Foram elaboradas atividades, algumas das quais foram aplicadas em sala de aula pelo autor em turmas da rede pública, com o intuito de despertar o maior interesse dos alunos pelo assunto, tratando de maneira mais lúdica com apoio de material concreto. Após a realização das atividades, foi observado um maior interesse dos alunos, que passaram a participar mais das aulas, sem o medo de cometer erros e encarando os assuntos que antes eram ditos chatos e difíceis como desafios, o que gerou uma maior autonomia dos mesmos.

This change can be seen in the Math s book and in the evolution of the methods of teaching functions, as it can be seen in this work. Many published studies and papers pay attention to how to teach Math in a different way, using computer apps, origami, games e many ludic activities. Taking into consideration the technological evolution, especially in cellphones, making then smartphones, the author of the work has decided that maybe it can be possible, pleasurable, didactic and refreshing to use an app already known by a lot of teachers, the GeoGebra, but focused on smartphones. That way, propositions of activities for the 9º grade of the elementary school and 1st grade of the high school, are made and an analysis of the difficulties and the learning that the students receive using that app in the classroom with graph of functions, given that due to an analysis of ENEM and its evolution, it is a recurrent content in this exam Durante a vida escolar, os alunos se deparam com diversos cálculos e conteúdos matemáticos e, independente do gosto e prazer pela Matemática de cada um deles, é importante modificar o método de ensino, se adequando ao mundo atual no qual vivemos, para que assim o interesse pela Matemática possa ser renovado, principalmente dos alunos que dizem (a princípio) não gostar da mesma. Esta mudança pode ser percebida nos livros de Matemática e na evolução no método de ensino de funções, como poderá ser visto neste trabalho. Muitos estudos e trabalhos publicados focam em como ensinar Matemática de um jeito diferente, utilizando programas de computador, origamis, jogos e diversas atividades lúdicas. Levando em consideração a evolução tecnológica, principalmente dos celulares, tornando-os smartphones, foi decidido que talvez seja possível, prazeroso, didático e renovador utilizar um aplicativo já conhecido por muitos professores, o GeoGebra, porém focado em smartphones. Assim, são propostas atividades para turmas do 9º do Ensino Fundamental e 1º ano do Ensino Médio, e feita uma análise de quais dificuldades e aprendizados os alunos obtiveram utilizando este aplicativo em sala de aula com gráficos de funções, haja vista que devido a uma análise do ENEM e sua evolução, é um conteúdo recorrente neste exame

The video lessons were elaborated by the author with the purpose of attending to people with problems of learning in mathematics. For this, the author discusses which are the learning problems, the norms that governing the parallel recovery of studies and the importance of technology in education. So, the actions that compose the recovery of studies using the video lessons were applied for the students of the 3rd year of high school in the Colégio Estadual República de Cabo Verde and they could integrate the Special Plan of Studies of the Institutional Educational Project of this school in 2018. Finally, a discursive evaluation was given as the last action of the Plan in order to verify if there was improvement of the students performance after watching the videos lessons of the content Este trabalho apresenta uma proposta de recuperação paralela de estudos usando videoaulas sobre o conteúdo de análise combinatória. As videoaulas foram elaboradas pela autora com a finalidade de atender pessoas com problemas de aprendizagem em matemática. Para isso, a autora discorre sobre quais são os problemas de aprendizagem, sobre as normativas que regem a recuperação paralela de estudos e sobre a importância da tecnologia na educação. Assim, as ações que compõem a recuperação de estudos usando as videoaulas foram aplicadas no Colégio Estadual República de Cabo Verde para os alunos do 3º ano do Ensino Médio e poderão integrar o Plano Especial de Estudos do Projeto Político Pedagógico da instituição em 2018. It was used the differential and integral calculus as the tool for the understanding of natural mathematics (conceptualization of the mathematician Keith Devlin) that, in particular, bees possess for the labor economy and optimization of honey production. It aims to make an approach of bees in the world and in Brazil, making a taxonomic classification and highlighting the usefulness of the bees with their production and especially its ecological importance. It presents the sophisticated mathematics that bees innately or naturally possess. The differential and integral calculus is used here as the great tool capable of solving the problem of construction aiming at a better economy of wax and increase of the honey productivity. It demonstrates some pedagogical activities aimed at a better understanding of transdisciplinarity through the presence of mathematics in nature. This study seeks theoretical reference mainly in authors and mathematicians related to the history of the Honeycomb Conjecture. Finally, the research points out the importance of the work aiming at a better awareness of the society for the role that bees play in the ecological and environmental issue since bees are fundamental for the ecological balance Este trabalho apresenta uma pesquisa sobre a construção geométrica dos alvéolos das abelhas. Utilizou-se o cálculo diferencial e integral como a ferramenta para a compreensão da matemática natural (conceituação do matemático Keith Devlin) que, em particular, as abelhas possuem para a economia de trabalho e otimização da produção de mel. Destina-se a fazer uma abordagem das abelhas no mundo e no Brasil, fazendo uma classificação taxonômica e destacando a utilidade das abelhas com sua produção e principalmente sua importância ecológica. Apresenta a matemática sofisticada que as abelhas de forma inata ou naturalmente possuem. O cálculo diferencial e integral é utilizado aqui como a grande ferramenta capaz de solucionar o problema da construção visando uma melhor economia de cera e aumento da produtividade de mel. Apresentam-se algumas atividades pedagógicas que visam um melhor entendimento da transdisciplinaridade através da presença da matemática na natureza. Este estudo busca referência teórica principalmente em autores e matemáticos relacionados à história da Conjectura do Favo de Mel. The study presents a historical setting of Mathematical Modelling and its connection with the methodology of Problems Solutions, emphasizing the use of modelling in classroom. The work also reports the Mathematical Modelling definition with its stages, and the importance of using this pedagogical tool in the teaching / learning process. Besides that, this study serves as support material for other teachers of the discipline who wish to use this tool in their classes, once it presents several activities. The mathematical knowledge approached in this study was developed from the Olympics 2016 theme, labouring the information treatment block (graphs and tables) as main content of the study. The Mathematical Modelling application was developed by seven activities, all of them realized during 2016. This paper presents a more detailed approach of activities, arguing the result of each question using the methodology of errors analysis in those that presented a low index of hits, as a form of investigation. Besides that questions analysis, a general analysis of the results was also presented, emphasizing the exploitation percentages, and also a survey of the questions left blank. The IRAMUTEQ software was used with the purpose of analysing the essays written by the students in two activities, highlighting the words that appeared most frequently. Thereby, it was concluded that Mathematical Modelling as an alternative methodology reached a good index of exploitation in the results and, the most important goal, served as a motivating tool, attracting students attention in the accomplishment of activities, also giving a greater meaning in mathematical learning O presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar a Modelagem Matemática como uma ferramenta pedagógica alternativa, visando um aprendizado significativo em uma turma do 6º ano do ensino fundamental da Escola Municipal Araújo Porto Alegre, localizada na área metropolitana da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O trabalho apresenta um cenário histórico da Modelagem Matemática e a sua ligação com a metodologia de Resolução de Problemas, enfatizando o uso da Modelagem em sala de aula. O trabalho relata também a definição de Modelagem Matemática e as suas etapas assim como a função do professor na utilização dessa ferramenta pedagógica no processo ensino/aprendizagem. Além disso, este trabalho serve como material de apoio para outros professores da disciplina que desejam utilizar esta ferramenta em suas aulas, uma vez que apresenta diversas atividades. Os conhecimentos matemáticos abordados neste trabalho foram desenvolvidos a partir do tema Olimpíadas 2016, trabalhando o bloco tratamento de informações (gráficos e tabelas) como conteúdo principal do trabalho. A aplicação da Modelagem Matemática foi desenvolvida em sete atividades, todas realizadas durante o ano de 2016. Este trabalho apresenta uma abordagem mais detalhada das atividades, discutindo o resultado de cada questão, utilizando a metodologia de análise de erros nas que apresentaram um índice baixo de acertos, como forma de investigação. Além dessa análise das questões, foi apresentada também uma análise geral dos resultados, dando ênfase aos percentuais de aproveitamento, assim como um levantamento das questões deixadas em branco. O software IRAMUTEQ foi utilizado com o propósito de analisar as redações feitas pelos alunos em duas atividades, destacando as palavras que apareceram com maior frequência. Com isso, concluiu-se que a Modelagem Matemática como metodologia alternativa atingiu bons índices de aproveitamento nos resultados e, o mais importante, serviu como uma ferramenta motivadora, atraindo a atenção dos alunos na realização das atividades dando um maior significado na aprendizagem matemática

We work out such equations from the point of view of problem solving. Yet the methods of solving these equations are discussed according to four models: method of completing the squares, Bhaskara formula, relation between coefficients and roots of a quadratic equation and Al-Khwarizmi s geometric method. The application and analysis of activities that were developed with a class of a ninth grade of the elementary school, as well as the forwarding of the classes during the teaching of this content in the year of 2016 are presented. Já os métodos de resolução dessas equações são discutidos segundo quatro modelos: método de completar quadrados, fórmula de Bhaskara, relação entre os coeficientes e as raízes de uma equação do 2º grau e método geométrico de Al-Khwarizmi. Também são apresentadas a aplicação e a análise de atividades que foram desenvolvidas com uma turma do 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental, bem como o encaminhamento das aulas durante o ensino desse conteúdo no ano de 2016.

The question that guides this study is: how can Soroban contribute to mathematics teaching in basic education, and how can it serve as a didactic resource for the teaching of fundamental operations of mathematics with natural numbers? We provide a short historical approach of Soroban and its development throughout the years. After this, the study presents Soroban as an instrument of calculation with all its elements, which results in the exhibition of fundamental operations of mathematics with natural numbers. We proposed a mini course as a product of Professional Master s degree aimed to teachers who work with Mathematics in basic education. We showed that Soroban can be an important instrument of help in the understanding of basic operations due to the fact that it allows results to be concrete and not abstract, which gives meaning to the mathematical learning of young students. Soroban is also important as a didactic instrument to be used by teachers in classroom, because it promotes a ludic teaching, which results in a stronger interest and attention of students who are beginners in mathematics. Soroban minimizes the level of abstraction, which is a characteristic of science, and enhances students experience. What must be observed, however, is the difficulty of finding Soroban in most of the schools, as well as a higher difficulty in using the instrument to solve operations of multiplication and division of natural numbers. Esta dissertação apresenta os resultados de um estudo para o uso do Soroban como instrumento de ensino de operações básicas elementares com números naturais, o qual fundamentou a proposta de um mini-curso para professores que atuam no ensino de Matemática em nível básico. A questão norteadora do estudo foi: Como o Soroban pode contribuir para o ensino da matemática na educação básica e, mais especificamente, servir como recurso didático para o ensino de operação matemáticas fundamentais com números naturais? Conduziu-se uma breve abordagem histórica sobre o Soroban e seu desenvolvimento ao longo dos anos. Após esse momento, o estudo voltou-se a apresentar o Soroban como instrumento de cálculo, com todos os seus elementos, chegando enfim, à exibição de operações matemáticas fundamentais com números naturais. Propôs-se como produto do Mestrado Profissional um mini-curso voltado para professores que trabalham com Matemática na Educação Básica. Mostramos que o Soroban pode ser um importante instrumento de auxílio na compreensão de operações básicas por permitir uma concretização de resultados, dando significado ao aprendizado matemático de jovens estudantes. O Soroban também se mostrou importante como instrumento didático a ser utilizado por professores em sala de aula, por permitir um ensino com um caráter lúdico, garantindo uma maior atenção e interesse de alunos em estágio inicial na matemática. O Soroban minimiza a barreira da abstração, que é característica da ciência, enriquecendo a experiência dos alunos. Cabe observar, entretanto, a dificuldade de encontrar o Soroban na maior parte das escolas, assim como uma maior dificuldade para o uso do instrumento ao resolver operações de multiplicação e divisão de números naturais.

For such, the development and the final part of this study brings activities which deals with modular arithmetic and the possibility of using concret material in class. Este trabalho de conclusão de curso apresenta uma abordagem para o ensino de Matrizes e Sistemas Lineares no Ensino Médio. Com a intenção de diversificar a forma como esses conteúdos são apresentados, o método utilizado foi o estudo e resolução de Jogos Lineares Finitos. Direcionado a professores e graduandos em Matemática, espera-se que este trabalho forneça mais uma ferramenta útil para atrair a atenção dos alunos, e facilitar a prática docente referente ao tema. Based on the theoretical basis on assessment, it designed a unique data collection instrument, applied in two stages, in order to capture different aspects of induction, from factors considered highly predictive of success in the event. In the first stage, responses from 261 teachers were collected from almost all Brazilian states, from calling on social networks and mailing lists. In the second stage, the same questions were addressed to non selective school teachers with the best results in the state of Rio de Janeiro, with reference to 2005 to 2013 OBMEP editions. In relation to the investigated factors, the second stage teachers presented more assertive responses, which proved consistent with the theoretical foundation. Despite the promising results regarding the impact of OBMEP, there seems to be a long way to go, so as to achieve the objective of improving the quality indicators of basic Math education in Brazil, emphasizing above all the need for wide dissemination of successful experiences in schools throughout the country, by the use of educational materials, such as videos and handouts, as well as specialization of the faculty A pesquisa buscou determinar em que medida a avaliação da OBMEP induz mudanças na prática pedagógica dos professores de Matemática e de que formas essa indução ocorre. Com base na fundamentação teórica relativa a avaliações, foi elaborado um instrumento de coleta único, aplicado em duas etapas distintas, visando captar diferentes aspectos dessa indução, a partir de fatores considerados altamente preditivos para o sucesso no evento. Na primeira etapa, foram coletadas respostas de 261 professores, de quase todas as unidades da federação, a partir de chamamento em redes sociais e listas de discussão. Na segunda etapa, as mesmas perguntas foram dirigidas a professores de escolas não seletivas com os melhores resultados no estado do Rio de Janeiro, tomando por referência as edições da OBMEP de 2005 a 2013. Em relação aos fatores investigados, os professores da segunda etapa apresentaram respostas mais assertivas, o que se mostrou compatível com a fundamentação teórica. Apesar dos resultados promissores quanto ao impacto da OBMEP, parece haver ainda um longo caminho a percorrer, de modo que se alcance o objetivo de melhorar os indicadores de qualidade da educação básica em Matemática no Brasil, destacando-se, sobretudo, a necessidade de ampla divulgação de experiências bem-sucedidas em todo país, nas escolas, por meio de materiais didáticos, como vídeos e apostilas, além da maior especialização do corpo docente

To Leopold kronecker, only the set of the integers existed. To Cantor and Dedekind, the irrational numbers were extremely important for the development of mathematics, opening new horizons. Foi uma procura muito interessante e enriquecedora, pois encontrei matemáticos e historiadores com visões bem diferentes. Muitos deles não aceitavam este novo conjunto. Para Leopold Kronecker, só existia o conjunto dos números inteiros. Já para Cantor e Dedekind, o aparecimento dos irracionais foi extremamente importante para o desenvolvimento da matemática, abrindo novos horizontes. This paper analyzes the deterministic mathematical models that describe the population growth, focusing on populations of microorganisms. Are showed some utilities of microorganisms, in addition to its health hazards through a growth modeling of these in the human body, with adjustments to the mathematical models of Malthus, Verhults and Gompertz for microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Salmonella enteritidis and Giardia lamblia. Theoretically, it is well known that in one dimension, the Fibonacci chain is a successful prototype to describe a quasicrystalline state. Depending on the in ation rule, different kinds of aperiodic structures can be obtained. This diversity originates the called metallic means, and due to the possibility of analytical and rigorous mathematical treatments the Fibonacci model has been applied by several authors. In this work, electronic localization properties are studied, taking into account a set of metallic means in one dimension. Considering a single band tight-binding Hamiltonian, a set of decimation transformations is obtained allowing the calculation of the Density of States (DOS) for all configurations. The detailed study of the Integrated Density of States (IDOS), shows the appearance of plateaux in the occupation number curve exhibiting the so-called "devil's staircase"indicating the fractal nature of the structures. Studying the behavior of the energy as a function of the hopping we derive Hofstadter butter y type patters, which simulate the effect of a magnetic field acting on the system. The electronic nature of the eigenstate is analyzed by looking at the Lyapunov exponent which is related to the evolution of the electronic wave unction along the one dimensional chain. Since it is zero for an extended state and positive for a localized one, defining the main gaps positions, it is related to the inverse of the localization length. Through a careful analysis of the Lyapunov curves it was also possible to obtain the perfect self-similarity structures for all chains. In particular,for the chains that follow the golden and silver rules, the study of the energy behavior was done by analyzing the energy spectrum as a function of the generation number of each one of the chains. The results yield Cantor-like sets, which allowed us to calculate the specific heat profile for several generations of the one-dimensional Fibonacci chain. Desde a descoberta do estado quasicristalino por Daniel Shechtman et al. em 1984 e da fabricação por Roberto Merlin et al. de uma superrede artificial de GaAs/ AlAs em 1985 com características da sequência de Fibonacci, um grande número de trabalhos teóricos e experimentais tem relatado uma variedade de propriedades interessantes no comportamento de sistemas aperiódicos. Do ponto de vista teórico, é bem sabido que a cadeia de Fibonacci em uma dimensão se constitui em um protótipo de sucesso para a descrição do estado quasicristalino de um sólido. Dependendo da regra de inflação, diferentes tipos de estruturas aperiódicas podem ser obtidas. Esta diversidade originou as chamadas regras metálicas e devido à possibilidade de tratamento analítico rigoroso este modelo tem sido amplamente estudado. Neste trabalho, propriedades de localização em uma dimensão são analisadas considerando-se um conjunto de regras metálicas e o modelo de ligações fortes de banda única. Considerando-se o Hamiltoniano de ligações fortes com um orbital por sítio obtemos um conjunto de transformações relativas aos parâmetros de dizimação, o que nos permitiu calcular as densidades de estados (DOS) para todas as configurações estudadas. O estudo detalhado da densidade de estados integrada (IDOS) para estes casos, mostra o surgimento de plateaux na curva do número de ocupação explicitando o aparecimento da chamada "escada do diabo" e também o caráter fractal destas estruturas. Estudando o comportamento da variação da energia em função da variação da energia de hopping, construímos padrões do tipo borboletas de Hofstadter, que simulam o efeito de um campo magnético atuando sobre o sistema. A natureza eletrônica dos auto estados é analisada a partir do expoente de Lyapunov (γ), que está relacionado com a evolução da função de onda eletrônica ao longo da cadeia unidimensional. O expoente de Lyapunov está relacionado com o inverso do comprimento de localização (ξ= 1 /γ), sendo nulo para os estados estendidos e positivo para estados localizados. Isto define claramente as posições dos principais gaps de energia do sistema. Desta forma, foi possível analisar o comportamento autossimilar de cadeias com diferentes regras de formação. Analisando-se o espectro de energia em função do número de geração de cadeias que seguem as regras de ouro e prata foi feito, obtemos conjuntos do tipo-Cantor, que nos permitiu estudar o perfil do calor específico de uma cadeia e Fibonacci unidimensional para diversas gerações

From a theme of the story involving math facts students research, write and act out a play for an audience of people from the school community. As the intention is to make this effective practice, research culminates in the founding of the Club History of Mathematics, space where, hopefully, recurring activities is developed, attracting students affects both the humanities science and socia sciencel and the sciences. Carried out a case study with participant observation, as the author also professor CMRJ. This study seeks theoretical reference authors mainly related to the History of Mathematics, Art Education, democratic management, power relations and current legislation. The research points to the importance of working with the history and the art and leads us to conclude that, to form critical citizens and participatory citizens, the first step is the society become critical and participatory, with the school being the main locus for such training. Este trabalho apresenta uma pesquisa sobre a utilização da História da Matemática no ensino básico do Colégio Militar do Rio de Janeiro CMRJ através de manifestações artísticas, fazendo uso, principalmente, do teatro,para que alunos percebam a matemática como uma ciência temporal, humana e sujeita a interferências políticas e sociais e, dessa forma, desenvolver a criticidade, aumentar a sensibilidade e o senso de solidariedade. A partir de um tema da história envolvendo fatos matemáticos os alunos pesquisam, escrevem uma peça teatral e encenam para um público formado por pessoas da comunidade escolar. Como a intenção é tornar essa prática efetiva, a pesquisa culmina na fundação do Clube de História da Matemática, espaço onde, espera-se, atividades recorrentes sejamdesenvolvidas, atraindo alunos afetos tanto às ciências humanas e sociais como às ciências exatas. Realiza-se um estudo de caso com observação participante, por ser o autor também professor do CMRJ. Este estudo busca referência teórica principalmente em autores relacionados à História da Matemática, Arte na Educação, gestão democrática, relações de poder e na legislação vigente. A pesquisa aponta a importância do trabalho com a história e com a arte e nos leva a concluir que, para formar cidadãos participativos e críticos, o primeiro passo é a sociedade tornar-se participativa e crítica, sendo a escola o principal locuspara tal formação.

It offers the teacher tools that enable the use of Collaborative Teaching, besides explaining and structuring the use of this collaborative practice on teaching mathematics. The work also shows a comparative study between two groups of Youth and Adult Educational Program of the city of Rio de Janeiro, in which only one the CT has been used. This study intends to make a difference between collaborative teaching the traditional one. The reason of having developed this study on Youth and Adult Educational Program was due to the fact that it is a public historically known for presenting problems on the learning process, and also because it is a method of teaching in which the diversity of experiences is a differential to the development of collaborative practice. The proposed activities lead to creating an atmosphere likely to stimulate the interaction among the students and between the teacher and the student(s). Each student should be able to confront ideas, share knowledge and either develop or acquire skills, that is, each one should look forward to his own development and everybody else s too. By allying the collaborative practice to the function teaching, it was possible to introduce the basic concept of this topic, and show the students the different ways of representing it and in what ways its concept is connected to diversified areas of knowledge. With this work, it is expected that anyone becomes willing to use the Collaborative Practice feels encouraged and based to develop the topics of the Mathematics syllabus using this pedagogical practice. It is important to highlight that all the suggested structurings can and should be adapted to each reality and its particularities because, in addition to being a practice that leads to enhancing the teaching-learning process, the CT can be used as an analysis tool to allow all the participants to have a better understanding of the situation they are part of Esse trabalho apresenta uma experiência com o Ensino Colaborativo (EC) no Programa de Educação de Jovens e Adultos em uma escola da rede municipal de ensino do Rio de Janeiro. Ele visa dar ferramentas ao docente que possibilitem o uso do Ensino Colaborativo, além de explicar e estruturar o uso dessa prática colaborativa no ensino de matemática. O trabalho mostra também um estudo comparativo entre duas turmas do Ensino de Jovens e Adultos de um colégio do munícipio do Rio de Janeiro, na qual o EC foi utilizado em apenas uma delas, e esse estudo, visa caracterizar as diferenças entre o EC e o ensino tradicional. O fato de ter desenvolvido esse estudo do EC no Ensino de Jovens e Adultos se deu pelo fato de ser uma modalidade de ensino cujo público, historicamente, apresenta algumas dificuldades no processo de aprendizagem e também por se tratar de uma modalidade de ensino na qual a diversidade de experiências se torna um diferencial para o desenvolvimento da prática colaborativa. As atividades propostas visam criar um ambiente propício para que a interação entre os alunos e entre professor e aluno(s) ocorra. Cada estudante deve ser capaz de confrontar ideias, dividir conhecimentos e desenvolver ou adquirir habilidades, ou seja, cada um deve buscar o seu desenvolvimento e também o de todos que estão a sua volta. Ao aliar a prática colaborativa com o ensino de funções, foi possível introduzir o conceito básico de função e mostrar aos discentes as diferentes formas de representar uma função e de que maneira o conceito de função está ligado a diversas áreas do conhecimento. Espera-se que com esse trabalho qualquer pessoa que deseje utilizar o Ensino Colaborativo, sinta-se encorajado e embasado para desenvolver tópicos do programa de Matemática utilizando essa prática pedagógica. É importante destacar que todas as estruturações sugeridas podem e devem ser adaptadas a cada realidade e às suas peculiaridades, pois além de ser uma prática que visa melhorar o processo de ensino aprendizagem, o EC pode ser usado como uma ferramenta de análise que permite a todos os indivíduos participantes ter um melhor entendimento da sociedade na qual estão inseridos

Before the activities, some brief researches are presented. The historical presence of the topics of Differential and Integral Calculus in brazilian High Schools, as well as the analysis of some textbooks, serves to show how it has been and is being treated in the country. Aspects of the High School are also shown in Germany and the United States, countries where the calculus is present in High School, though in quite different ways. A chapter about the proper preparation for these classes was also included, since the simple insertion of the derivative could cause problems for meeting the schedule and could not bring the expected results. Some degree of adequacy of the contents and cooperation with Physics teachers are needed. The activities aiming at teaching the initial concepts of derivatives are motivated by a physical problem of motion. The focus is given on intuition and visualization of graphs, so there is a better understanding of the concepts involved. The use of a dynamic geometry software is required for much of the time, as an important tool for pedagogical support Este trabalho traz uma proposta de atividades, a serem desenvolvidas em sala de aula, com o objetivo de introduzir o conceito de derivadas para os alunos da primeira série do Ensino Médio. Antes das atividades, estão presentes algumas breves pesquisas. O histórico da presença de tópicos do Cálculo Diferencial e Integral no Ensino Médio no Brasil, assim como a análise de alguns livros didáticos, serve para mostrar como o assunto já foi e está sendo tratado no país. Também são exibidos aspectos sobre o Ensino Médio na Alemanha e nos Estados Unidos, países onde o cálculo está presente na Escola Secundária, embora de formas bastante diferentes. Um capítulo sobre a preparação adequada para as aulas também foi incluído, uma vez que a simples inserção da derivada poderia causar problemas de tempo para o cumprimento do cronograma e não trazer os resultados esperados. São necessários algum grau de adequação dos conteúdos ministrados e de cooperação com professores de Física. As atividades visando o ensino dos conceitos iniciais de derivada são motivadas por um problema físico de movimento. O foco é dado na intuição e na visualização de gráficos, para que haja uma melhor compreensão dos conceitos envolvidos. A utilização de um software de geometria dinâmica é requerida em boa parte do tempo, como importante ferramenta de apoio pedagógico

This paper presents the results of a statistical return about the rates of fails in the subject Differential and integral Calculus I in recent terms at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and also a quantitative research with forty mathematics teachers, which has the objective of analyzing the viability of the project and the problems to be faced. Finally, the dissertation has a series of discussed activities about the theme of limits, which is the focus of this paper. These activities can be included in the first year of high school, at the same time as functions content. They aim to offer students a contact with Calculus elements in an accessible language and also to orientate the teacher in this task. A presente dissertação tem o objetivo de propor a reinclusão de elementos de Cálculo no ensino médio, pois no passado o Cálculo fazia parte do currículo e foi abolido após uma reforma no ensino da matemática. O trabalho apresenta os resultados de um levantamento estatístico sobre os índices de reprovação na disciplina Cálculo Diferencial e Integral I nos períodos mais recentes da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) e, também, uma pesquisa quantitativa com quarenta professores de matemática com o objetivo de analisar a viabilidade do projeto e os problemas a serem enfrentados. Por fim, a dissertação conta com uma série de atividades comentadas sobre o tema de limites, que é o foco do trabalho. The theoretical tool chosen to be employed is Game Theory. The strategy thus developed leads to the coupling of discrete and continuum mathematics, as long as the so-called Lotka-Volterra equations compose the model the study lies on. These equations, associated to predator-prey simulation, bear a too high equilibrium point when parameters associated to real situations are taken. Optimum control theory is thus usually employed, but this turns out to be a rather sophisticated technique. The scheme presented here is simpler, which makes possible its larger dissemination, as long as a practical implementation is completed. The present multidisciplinary research was conducted with data collected from reports made available by EMBRAPA, the Brazilian Enterprise for Agricultural Research. A presente dissertação propõe uma abordagem alternativa na simulação matemática de um cenário preocupante em ecologia: o controle de pragas nocivas a uma dada lavoura de soja em uma específica região geográfica. O instrumental teórico empregado é a teoria dos jogos, de forma a acoplar ferramentas da matemática discreta à análise e solução de problemas de valor inicial em equações diferenciais, mais especificamente, as chamadas equações de dinâmica populacional de Lotka-Volterra com competição. Essas equações, que modelam o comportamento predador-presa, possuem, com os parâmetros inicialmente utilizados, um ponto de equilíbrio mais alto que o desejado no contexto agrícola sob exame, resultando na necessidade de utilização da teoria do controle ótimo. O esquema desenvolvido neste trabalho conduz a ferramentas suficientemente simples, de forma a tornar viável o seu uso em situações reais. Os dados utilizados para o tratamento do problema que conduziu a esta pesquisa interdisciplinar foram coletados de material bibliográfico da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária EMBRAPA.
