Energy efficiency of modern industry machinery imply using adaptive electronic driving modules, based on digital processing units, in order to offer superior machine capabilities through firmware updating. It is a well-known fact that classic hydraulics installations mounted on industrial machinery are sometimes too complex and difficult to reconfigure and in some cases impossible. Industrial machines need to be flexible and energy efficient, leading to real challenges for industrial designers. Standardized hydraulics equipment and digital driving electronic modules are still a solution to modern industrial needs, but the energy efficiency is poor. Complexity of hydraulics installations has been, somehow, passed to electronics driving modules but leaded to a rapid increase in control system's complexity. Hydraulics manufacturing companies promote nowadays the concept of digital hydraulics systems as the answer to modern technical challenges. In this paper, the authors have investigated the possibility of using the digital hydraulics concept in replacing conventional electrohydraulic directional valves, in the case of a waste baling press. It will be underlined main advantages and disadvantages of digital hydraulics over classic hydraulics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this paper is to present the influence of material feed flow on the separation process for a conical sieve with vertical axis and oscillating circular motion. Intensity separating curves of seeds of rape through circular aperture of sieve were traced by regression analysis of the quantities of material separated at different distances of the central axis of the sieve, using Lorentz distribution law. Coefficients of the regression equation and correlation coefficient of the distribution function with experimental data shows a high correlation between them. Material motion on sieve and separation process, generally, was assessed by peak position of the distribution curve, depending on the feed flow of material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MOBILE robots ,DISASTERS ,EXPLOSIONS ,NUCLEAR accidents ,WORK-related injuries ,EARTHQUAKES - Abstract
Periodically in the world take place disasters such as explosions followed by fires, earthquakes, industrial or nuclear accident. The intervention of rescuers afterdisasters is often dangerous. It is dangerous for people to get into the scene immediately because at that time there may be an earthquake replica or, in case of fires, an explosion of combustible gas containers or leakage of dangerous substances. In some countries mobile robots have developed that can enter in places where man can not. These robots are equipped with various sensors for collecting information. Information obtained with specialized robots enables rescue experts to reduce response time and intervene on-site without risk to personnel. The paper presents some robot models, an example of a block diagram with components and types of missions that disaster intervention robots can perform. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Oil cooling systems are used widely in hydraulic systems, mainly to maintain working fluid's (oil) temperature within a given range, where its flowing parameters have small variations. It is a well-known fact that hydraulic oil parameters, such as viscosity and pressure drop, are dependent to current oil temperature therefore in many cases it must be controlled using automated cooling systems. The authors propose an automated hydraulic oil air cooling system having as main actuator a variable speed rotary hydraulic motor. Cooling capacity must be calculated, using standardized formulae that are to be found in scientific literature, under-sizing always lead to poor temperature balance. Overheating can create favorable conditions for the occurrence of cavitation phenomenon, leading to premature wear or damage of hydraulic equipment. The testing stand that the authors propose is made of an operator console placed on a hydraulic oil tank, a battery of oil filters, hydraulic directional valves, safety valve, electronic temperature to current transducers and the electronic controller module. Environmental protection is one of the leading factors when designing modern industrial machinery, their increased overall energy efficiency requiring the use of new industrial design concepts, smart driving circuits and digital concepts [1]. Classic industrial machinery is supposed to be changing in the next few years due to the development of INDUSTRY 4.0 concept for manufacturing technologies [1]. Improving energy efficiency, in most of the cases implies designing new driving schematics and their complexity seems to be significantly increasing. Rapid development of electronics technology and software industry supported the need for energy efficiency, but fluidic - hydraulic and pneumatic - installations are performing not so well on this field. There are known various constructive solutions for directional valves that traditional fluidic manufacturers promote, in order to improve overall energy efficiency [2], but those solutions are centered on specific industrial application of group of applications. In a narrower case, a hydraulic P.E.T. waste baling press must be optimized taking into consideration productivity, ease-of-use, flexibility, energy efficiency and reduced maintenance costs [3]. Digital hydraulics might be a solution that can meet all the above criteria, but in the case of a small capacity P.E.T. waste press, retrofitting costs depreciation is poor. In this paper the authors propose a simple and energy efficient electro-hydraulic driving system for a small capacity P.E.T. waste baling press that was modeled using FluidSIM Hydraulic software environment. The present paper features a case study conducted within the "Apele Romane" National Administration concerning the correlation between the impulse and the performance of the employees. One of the goals of this establishment is to achieve a pleasant work environment, since the company development relies on the staff inner impulse. In order to come to the Performance Management System, we have implemented the following stages: increasing the expectations towards the performance between the manager and the employees and the monitoring of the performance evolution. This process of performance monitoring needs to be approached from two angles, such as the performance of the team members, as well as the performance of the entire department. Similarly, the monitoring has been done by including five basic fields: results, efficiency, progress, methods and procedures and practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The forecast can be defined like approximately of the unknown events from the future; this thing is necessary because of the existence of some unknown events, but this events play an important role in taking some decisions. It is obvious that the uncertainty's elimination is not possible, so the forecast is a tool who tries to minimalize this uncertainties. The forecast's importance in the electrical energy management is very important. The forecast of the energy's request presumes the estimation of this request's characteristics: zise, time evolution, the request's structure, and so on. The forecast of the electrical charge is a tool of a modern EMS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Top lit updraft (TLUD) gasifiers are simple and safe systems used to generate heat and produce biochar - a carbon rich porous product, with sorptive properties, that can be used as agricultural fertilizer or for toxin filtration and water purification. TLUD systems have low solid particles (PM) emissions and the high carbon content of the residual biochar translates into very low emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere. Moreover, the use of biochar in order to improve the agricultural production, results in a very long term carbon sequestration in soil, leading to negative balance of CO2. The paper presents an analysis procedure for a TLUD system working with agricultural residues, that was designed to increase the energy independence of small greenhouses and hothouses, while producing up to 15% high quality biochar. Fuel source consists of locally sourced biomass chopped at 40 to 50 mm, dried naturally at 10% × 20% relative humidity. A novel system for the admission of secondary air is proposed and analyzed by means of a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) commercial software that is used to assess the performance of the entire equipment, including the primary and secondary air flow and the temperatures developed within the system. In terms of mathematical model the biomass bed is considered a porous media, with chips size-related characteristics. Critical results such as the superficial velocity of the produced syngas, airflow ratio, and temperature of exhaust gasses, are discussed and solutions are proposed to optimize the gasification process.
