The expansion of a thick-walled hollow cylinder in soil is of non-self-similar nature that the stress/deformation paths are not the same for different soil material points. As a result, this problem cannot be solved by the common self-similar-based similarity techniques. This paper proposes a novel, exact solution for rigorous drained expansion analysis of a hollow cylinder of critical state soils. Considering stress-dependent elastic moduli of soils, new analytical stress and displacement solutions for the non-self-similar problem are developed taking the small strain assumption in the elastic zone. In the plastic zone, the cavity expansion response is formulated into a set of first-order partial differential equations (PDEs) with the combination use of Eulerian and Lagrangian descriptions, and a novel solution algorithm is developed to efficiently solve this complex boundary value problem. The solution is presented in a general form and thus can be useful for a wide range of soils. With the new solution, the non-self-similar nature induced by the finite outer boundary is clearly demonstrated and highlighted, which is found to be greatly different to the behaviour of cavity expansion in infinite soil mass. The present solution may serve as a benchmark for verifying the performance of advanced numerical techniques with critical state soil models and be used to capture the finite boundary effect for pressuremeter tests in small-sized calibration chambers.

Abstract The abnormal deformation of urban surfaces threatens the human living environment, and extreme regional weather can affect the response law of surface deformation. To explore the changes in surface time series response after extreme weather and the causes of deformation in Zhengzhou, the MTInSAR was used to obtain the surface deformation from 2020 to 2022, and the time series changes of groundwater equivalent water height were retrieved by GRACE. The results show that: (a) There are three large subsidence bowls in Zhengzhou, and the maximum subsidence rate is −40.2 mm/yr. (b) The extreme rainstorm in Zhengzhou alleviated the surface deformation quickly, lasting approximately 6 months. However, surface subsidence still occurred after the extreme rainstorm. The water storage coefficient of the elastic skeleton in the Zhengzhou area showed an increasing trend. (c) Precipitation can lead to surface uplift by influencing the change of groundwater level. There is a delay time of 0.75–1 month between groundwater level change and surface uplift response in the characteristic region. These results provide scientific data support and causal analysis for disaster prevention and reduction of abnormal deformation in Zhengzhou.

Abstract Purpose Intraoperative frozen section pathology (FS) is widely used to guide surgical strategies while the accuracy is relatively low. Underestimating the pathological condition may result in inadequate surgical margins. This study aims to identify CT imaging features related to upgraded FS and develop a predictive model. Methods Collected data from 860 patients who underwent lung surgery from January to December 2019. We analyzed the consistency rate of FS and categorized the patients into three groups: Group 1 (n = 360) had both FS and Formalin-fixed Paraffin-embedded section (FP) as non-invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC); Group 2 (n = 128) had FS as non-IAC but FP as IAC; Group 3 (n = 372) had both FS and FP as IAC. Clinical baseline characteristics were compared and propensity score adjustment was used to mitigate the effects of these characteristics. Univariate analyses identified imaging features with inter-group differences. A multivariate analysis was conducted to screen independent risk factors for FS upgrade, after which a logistic regression prediction model was established and a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was plotted. Results The consistency rate of FS with FP was 84.19%. 26.67% of the patients with non-IAC FS diagnosis were upgraded to IAC. The predictive model’s Area Under Curve (AUC) is 0.785. Consolidation tumor ratio (CTR) ≤ 0.5 and smaller nodule diameter are associated with the underestimation of IAC in FS. Conclusion CT imaging has the capacity to effectively detect patients at risk of upstaging during FS.

In the real world, there are only a small amount of data with labels. To make full use of the potential structural information of unlabeled data to train a better classifier, researchers have proposed many semi-supervised learning algorithms. Among these algorithms, self-training is one of the most widely used semi-supervised learning frameworks due to its simplicity. How to select high-confidence samples is a crucial step for self-training. If the misclassified samples are selected as high-confidence samples, this error will be amplified in the iterative process, which affects the performance of the final classifier. To alleviate the impact of this problem, this paper proposes a self-training algorithm with block-similar neighbor editing (STBSNE). STBSNE calculates the distance between samples by the block-based dissimilarity measure, which improves the classification performance on high-dimensional data sets. STBSNE defines the block-estimated neighbor relationship, builds the block-estimated neighbor relationship graph, and proposes the block estimated neighbor editing method to identify outliers and noise points, and edits them to improve the quality of the high-confidence sample selected. Experimental results on 16 benchmark data sets verify the superior performance of the proposed STBSNE compared with seven state-of-the-art algorithms.

Abstract Loess-paleosol sequences have been used in Asia to study climate and environmental changes during the Quaternary. The scarcity of age control datasets and proxy indices analysis data for Asian loess has limited our understanding of loess depositional processes and the reconstruction of paleoclimatic changes from loess-paleosol records. In this study, we present a dataset that includes 1785 quartz optically stimulated luminescence ages and 1038 K-feldspar post-infrared infrared stimulated luminescence ages from 128 loess-paleosol sequences located in different regions of Asia. We generate 38 high-resolution age-depth models of loess records based on the provided datasets. We provide data on 12,365 grain size records, 14,964 magnetic susceptibility records, 2204 CaCO3 content records, and 3326 color reflection records. This dataset contains the most detailed and accurate chronologies and proxy index data for loess records in Asia yet published. It provides fundamental data for understanding the spatial-temporal variations in loess depositional processes and climatic changes across the continent during the mid-late Quaternary.

Multicentric Castleman disease (MCD) is a heterogeneous, life-threatening disease. A subgroup of HIV-negative and HHV-8-negative MCD is defined as idiopathic MCD (iMCD) with a poor prognosis. Here we report an unusual case of a 47-year-old male patient with iMCD who experienced multiple treatment regimens such as chemotherapy, immunomodulatory therapy, and targeted therapy, all of which were considered ineffective. Subsequently, he was started on bortezomib in combination with dexamethasone for six cycles and he was in complete remission. The patient has survived nearly 13 years to date – the longest survival of any iMCD patient treated with bortezomib in combination with dexamethasone. Bortezomib combined with dexamethasone may be an effective salvage strategy for severe and refractory iMCD.

The importance of an efficient network resource allocation strategy has grown significantly with the rapid advancement of cellular network technology and the widespread use of mobile devices. Efficient resource allocation is crucial for enhancing user services and optimizing network performance. The primary objective is to optimize the power distribution method to maximize the total aggregate rate for all customers within the network. In recent years, graph-based deep learning approaches have shown great promise in addressing the challenge of network resource allocation. Graph neural networks (GNNs) have particularly excelled in handling graph-structured data, benefiting from the inherent topological characteristics of mobile networks. However, many of these methodologies tend to focus predominantly on node characteristics during the learning phase, occasionally overlooking or oversimplifying the importance of edge attributes, which are equally vital as nodes in network modeling. To tackle this limitation, we introduce a novel framework known as the Heterogeneous Edge Feature Enhanced Graph Attention Network (HEGAT). This framework establishes a direct connection between the evolving network topology and the optimal power distribution strategy throughout the learning process. Our proposed HEGAT approach exhibits improved performance and demonstrates significant generalization capabilities, as evidenced by extensive simulation results.

AimsThe high salinity of soil, nutrient scarcity, and poor aggregate structure limit the exploitation and utilization of coastal mudflat resources and the sustainable development of saline soil agriculture. In this paper, the effects of applying exogenous organic acids combined with biological substrate on the composition and diversity of soil bacterial community were studied in moderately saline mudflats in Jiangsu Province.MethodsA combination of three exogenous organic acids (humic acid, fulvic acid, and citric acid) and four biological substrates (cottonseed hull, cow manure, grass charcoal, and pine needle) was set up set up on a coastal saline mudflat planted with a salt-tolerant forage grass, sweet sorghum. A total of 120 kg ha−1 of organic acids and 5,000 kg ha−1 of substrates were used, plus two treatments, CK without application of organic acids and substrates and CK0 in bare ground, for a total of 14 treatments.ResultsNo significant difference was found in the alpha diversity of soil bacterial community among all treatments (p ≥ 0.05), with the fulvic acid composite pine needle (FPN) treatment showing the largest increase in each index. The Mongolian medical silver needles often encounter issues of bending, fracturing, and blunting in clinical applications. Similarly, Mongolian warm needles can cause burns on patients due to inaccurate temperature control. In this study, we developed an Ag85Cu15 alloy specifically for acupuncture needles based on material preparation. By incorporating appropriate amounts of Mn and Ti elements, we were able to enhance the mechanical properties and biocompatibility of the acupuncture needles. Compared to commercially available silver needles, this alloy exhibited a significant increase in microhardness up to 210.2 Hv0.2 and an improved tensile strength of 880.2 MPa. Furthermore, we designed a thermoelectric effect-based temperature measurement model for precise control of the warm needle's temperature, enhancing the therapeutic effectiveness of the treatment.

Protein arginine methyltransferase 1 (PRMT1), a type I PRMT, is overexpressed in gastric cancer (GC) cells. To elucidate the function of PRMT1 in GC, PRMT1 expression in HGC-27 and MKN-45 cells was knocked down by short hairpin RNA (shRNA) or inhibited by PRMT1 inhibitors (AMI-1 or DCLX069), which resulted in inhibition of GC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumorigenesis in vitro and in vivo. MLX-interacting protein (MLXIP) and Kinectin 1 (KTN1) were identified as PRMT1-binding proteins. PRMT1 recruited MLXIP to the promoter of β-catenin, which induced β-catenin transcription and activated the β-catenin signaling pathway, promoting GC cell migration and metastasis. Furthermore, KTN1 inhibited the K48-linked ubiquitination of PRMT1 by decreasing the interaction between TRIM48 and PRMT1. Collectively, our findings reveal a mechanism by which PRMT1 promotes cell proliferation and metastasis mediated by the β-catenin signaling pathway.

Sepsis is a complex and heterogeneous syndrome that remains a serious challenge to healthcare worldwide. Patients afflicted by severe sepsis or septic shock are customarily placed under intensive care unit (ICU) supervision, where a multitude of apparatus is poised to produce high-granularity data. This reservoir of high-quality data forms the cornerstone for the integration of AI into clinical practice. However, existing reviews currently lack the inclusion of the latest advancements. This review examines the evolving integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in sepsis management. Applications of artificial intelligence include early detection, subtyping analysis, precise treatment and prognosis assessment. AI-driven early warning systems provide enhanced recognition and intervention capabilities, while profiling analyzes elucidate distinct sepsis manifestations for targeted therapy. Precision medicine harnesses the potential of artificial intelligence for pathogen identification, antibiotic selection, and fluid optimization. In conclusion, the seamless amalgamation of artificial intelligence into the domain of sepsis management heralds a transformative shift, ushering in novel prospects to elevate diagnostic precision, therapeutic efficacy, and prognostic acumen. As AI technologies develop, their impact on shaping the future of sepsis care warrants ongoing research and thoughtful implementation.

New energy microgrid is one of the development trends of the future power grid. As there are wind turbines and other new energy equipment in the microgrid, its output is easily affected by unstable weather factors. Moreover, the complexity of dispatching caused by the storage battery in the microgrid and the non-linear factors of the diesel generator have brought great challenges to the economic dispatching of the microgrid. To tackle these problems, this paper establishes the expected value model of microgrid economic dispatching considering the uncertainty of wind power generation and the factors such as battery and diesel generator and proves that this expected value model is convex. On this basis, the piecewise linearization method is proposed to find the global optimal solution of the economic dispatch. Finally, a representative microgrid is optimized to verify the effectiveness of expected value model.

The roughness retention ability of the work roll surface during the cold rolling process is of great significance, especially in the production of the high-quality rolling section. Laser shock peening (LSP) is an advanced and effective surface treatment technique to improve the fatigue life, wear resistance, and other mechanical characteristics of metal components. Current studies commonly examined the reinforcement effect of single and multiple LSP treatments on Cr5 steel samples through XRD analysis, hardness testing, and residual stress measurements of different parameters. In addition, the abrasion test is widely conducted to determine the wear resistance. Compared to unprocessed samples, LSP could promote grain refinement and thus significantly increase the hardness and residual stress. Furthermore, the slight decrease in surface roughness shows that LSP treatment is an effective approach to slowing down the roughness decline rate and prolonging the roller service life. It is also found that multiple LSP impacts could remarkably improve the surface roughness retention of Cr5 steel, in which the optimal laser power density was around 23 GW/cm 2 .

Current evidence suggests that DEP domain containing 1 (DEPDC1) has an important effect on non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the diagnostic value and the regulatory function within NSCLC are largely unclear. This work utilized publicly available databases and in vitro experiments for exploring, DEPDC1 expression, clinical features, diagnostic significance and latent molecular mechanism within NSCLC. According to our results, DEPDC1 was remarkably upregulated in the tissues of NSCLC patients compared with non-carcinoma tissues, linked with gender, stage, T classification and N classification based on TCGA data and associated with smoking status and stage according to GEO datasets. Meanwhile, the summary receiver operating characteristic (sROC) curve analysis result showed that DEPDC1 had a high diagnostic value in NSCLC (AUC = 0.96, 95% CI: 0.94-0.98; diagnostic odds ratio = 99.08, 95%CI: 31.91-307.65; sensitivity = 0.89, 95%CI: 0.81-0.94; specificity = 0.92, 95%CI: 0.86-0.96; positive predictive value = 0.94, 95%CI: 0.89-0.98; negative predictive value = 0.78, 95%CI: 0.67-0.90; positive likelihood ratio = 11.77, 95%CI: 6.11-22.68; and negative likelihood ratio = 0.12, 95%CI: 0.06-0.22). Subsequently, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and western blotting indicated that DEPDC1 was high expressed in NSCLC cells. According to the in vitro MTS and apoptotic assays, downregulated DEPDC1 expression targeting P53 signaling pathway inhibited the proliferation of NSCLC cells while promoting apoptosis of NSCLC cells. Moreover, DEPDC1 was significantly correlated with immune cell infiltrating levels in NSCLC based on TCGA data, which were primarily associated with T cells CD4 memory activated, macrophages M1, B cells memory, mast cells resting, T cells regulatory, monocytes, and T cells CD4 memory resting. Compared with the group with high expression of DEPDC1, the group with low expression level had higher scores for immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) treatment. GSEA confirmed that DEPDC1 was involved in gene expression and tumor-related signaling pathways. Finally, DEPDC1 and its associated immune-related genes were shown to be enriched in 'receptor ligand activity', 'external side of plasma membrane', 'regulation of innate immune response', and 'Epstein-Barr virus infection' pathways. The present study demonstrates that DEPDC1 may contribute to NSCLC tumorigenesis and can be applied as the biomarker for diagnosis and immunology.

First, this paper focuses on the problem of nonlinear association between attributes and categories, combines inverse document frequency information and deep attribute weighting, improves the distance correlation coefficient, and proposes an attribute-weighted polynomial plain Bayesian text classification algorithm based on the improved distance correlation coefficient. Then a specific scheme for stage classification of early Chinese civilization provides a theoretical premise and expository framework for systematically exploring the relationship between primitive agricultural types and early Chinese civilization and also provides conditions for forming the agricultural revolution of early Chinese civilization in the Central Plains region. Finally, according to the research objectives, the 7000-year-old Ningzhen area was selected as the research object, and the attribute-weighted polynomial plain Bayesian text classification algorithm was used to analyze the data of the research object. The results show that: in the Neolithic burials of the North Yingying culture period alone, there are 240 burial relics with a total of 1,580 pieces of all burial relics, including 554 pieces of stone production workers, but the fundamental reason is the active change of human for the survival crisis. This study is a preliminary attempt to conduct an interdisciplinary study on the history of agriculture and civilization and provides an academic path for the sublimation of agricultural history to the study of the history of agricultural civilization.

Abstract Background Abnormal hyaluronic acid (HA) metabolism is a major factor in tumor progression, and the metabolic regulation of HA mainly includes HA biosynthesis and catabolism. In glioma, abnormal HA biosynthesis is intimately involved in glioma malignant biological properties and the formation of immunosuppressive microenvironment; however, the role of abnormal HA catabolism in glioma remains unclear. Methods HA catabolism is dependent on hyaluronidase. In TCGA and GEPIA databases, we found that among the 6 human hyaluronidases (HYAL1, HYAL2, HYAL3, HYAL4, HYALP1, SPAM1), only HYAL2 expression was highest in glioma. Next, TCGA and CGGA database were further used to explore the correlation of HYAL2 expression with glioma prognosis. Then, the mRNA expression and protein level of HYAL2 was determined by qRT-PCR, Western blot and Immunohistochemical staining in glioma cells and glioma tissues, respectively. The MTT, EdU and Colony formation assay were used to measure the effect of HYAL2 knockdown on glioma. The GSEA enrichment analysis was performed to explore the potential pathway regulated by HYAL2 in glioma, in addition, the HYAL2-regulated signaling pathways were detected by flow cytometry and Western blot. Finally, small molecule compounds targeting HYAL2 in glioma were screened by Cmap analysis. Results In the present study, we confirmed that Hyaluronidase 2 (HYAL2) is abnormally overexpressed in glioma. Moreover, we found that HYAL2 overexpression is associated with multiple glioma clinical traits and acts as a key indicator for glioma prognosis. Targeting HYAL2 could inhibit glioma progression by inducing glioma cell apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Conclusion Collectively, these observations suggest that HYAL2 overexpression could promote glioma progression. Thus, treatments that disrupt HA catabolism by altering HYAL2 expression may serve as effective strategies for glioma treatment.

Excellent thermal neutron absorption performance of boron expands the potential use of boron rich slag to prepare epoxy resin matrix nuclear shielding composites. However, shielding attenuation behaviors and mechanism of the composites against gamma rays are unclear. Based on the radiation protection theory, Phy-X/PSD, XCOM, and 60Co gamma ray source were integrated to obtain the shielding parameters of boron rich slag/epoxy resin composites at 0.015–15 MeV, which include mass attenuation coefficient (μt), linear attenuation coefficient (μ), half value thickness layer (HVL), electron density (Neff), effective atomic number (Zeff), exposure buildup factor (EBF) and exposure absorption buildup factor (EABF).μt, μ, HVL, Neff, Zeff, EBF and EABF are 0.02–7 cm2/g, 0.04–17 cm−1, 0.045–20 cm, 5–14, 3 × 1023–8 × 1023 electron/g, 0–2000, and 0–3500. Shielding performance is BS4, BS3, BS3, BS1 in descending order, but worse than ordinary concrete. μ and HVL of BS1-BS4 for 60Co gamma ray is 0.095–0.110 cm−1 and 6.3–7.2 cm. Shielding mechanism is main interactions for attenuation gamma ray by BS1-BS4 are elements with higher content or higher atomic number via Photoelectric Absorption at low energy range, and elements with higher content via Compton Scattering and Pair Production in Nuclear Field at middle and higher energy range.

In the traditional farming systems, the excessive application of chemical fertilizers to boost crop yields has resulted in a range of issues, such as soil quality degradation, soil structure deterioration, and pollution of the farmland ecological environment. Green manure, as a high-quality biological fertilizer source with rich nutrient content, is of great significance for enhancing the soil quality and establishing a healthy farmland ecosystem. However, there are few studies on the effects of different green manures on the soil nutrient levels, enzyme activities, and soil bacterial community composition in the rice–wheat rotation areas in southern China. Thus, we planted Chinese milk vetch (MV; Astragalus sinicus L.), light leaf vetch (LV; Vicia villosa var.), common vetch (CV; Vicia sativa L.), crimson clover (CC; Trifolium incarnatum L.), Italian ryegrass (RG; Lolium multiflorum L.), and winter fields without any crops as a control in the Taihu Lake area of Jiangsu. The soil samples collected after tilling and returning the green manure to the field during the bloom period were used to analyze the effects of the different green manures on the soil nutrient content, enzyme activity, and the structural composition of the bacterial community. This analysis was conducted using chemical methods and high-throughput sequencing technology. The results showed that the green manure returned to the field increased the soil pH, soil organic matter (SOM), alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen (AN), available phosphorus (AP), available potassium (AK), sucrose (SC), urease (UE), and neutral phosphatase (NEP) contents compared to the control. They increased by 1.55% to 10.06%, 0.26% to 9.31%, 20.95% to 28.42%, 20.66% to 57.79%, 12.38% to 37.94%, 3.11% to 58.19%, 6.49% to 32.99%, and 50.0% to 80.36%, respectively. In addition, the green manure field increased the relative abundance of the genera Proteobacteria and Haliangium while decreasing the relative abundance of Gemmatimonadetes, Chloroflexi, SBR1031, and Anaeromyxobacter in the soil bacteria. Both the number of ASVs (amplicon sequence variants) and α-diversity of the soil bacterial communities were higher compared to the control, and the β-diversity varied significantly among the treatments. Alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen and neutral phosphatase had the greatest influence on the soil bacterial community diversity, with alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen being the primary soil factor affecting the soil bacterial community composition. Meanwhile, the results of the principal component analysis showed that the MV treatment had the most significant impact on soil improvement. Our study provides significant insights into the sustainable management of the soil quality in rice–wheat rotations. It identifies MV as the best choice among the green manure crops for improving the soil quality, offering innovative solutions for reducing chemical fertilizer dependence and promoting ecological sustainability.

Reservoir impoundment induces a large amount of cumulative deformation of landslide body, leading to damage to the geological environment. Due to many yearly cycles of reservoir water fluctuation, the cumulative deformation of landslides tends to be stable, showing a self-adaptive deformation phenomenon. The study of the self-adaptive deformation mechanism is very important for evaluating landslide stability and achieving the safe operation of hydropower stations. To study the mechanism of self-adaptive deformation, two sets of physical models were used to monitor the groundwater, earth pressure, and cumulative deformation of landslide under periodic fluctuations of the reservoir water level. The results showed that the soil consolidation compaction, release of sliding stress, and increase in permeability are the three main factors of the self-adaptive deformation of landslide accumulation. The overall permeability decreased first and then increased, the front permeability increased greatly, and the middle and rear permeability decreased. The main factors that affected the permeability change were deformation and seepage force.

Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a significant hepatic condition that has gained worldwide attention. Kaempferol (Kae), renowned for its diverse biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-aging, and cardio-protective properties, has emerged as a potential therapeutic candidate for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Despite its promising therapeutic potential, the precise underlying mechanism of Kae’s beneficial effects in NASH remains unclear. Therefore, this study aims to clarify the mechanism by conducting comprehensive in vivo and in vitro experiments. Results: In this study, a murine model of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) was established by feeding C57BL/6 female mice a high-fat diet for 12 weeks. Kaempferol (Kae) was investigated for its ability to modulate systemic inflammatory responses and lipid metabolism in this model (20 mg/kg per day). Notably, Kae significantly reduced the expression of NLRP3-ASC/TMS1-Caspase 3, a crucial mediator of liver tissue inflammation. Additionally, in a HepG2 cell model induced with palmitic acid/oleic acid (PA/OA) to mimic NASH conditions, Kae demonstrated the capacity to decrease lipid droplet accumulation and downregulate the expression of NLRP3-ASC/TMS1-Caspase 3 (20 µM and the final concentration to 20 nM). These findings suggest that Kae may hold therapeutic potential in the treatment of NASH by targeting inflammatory and metabolic pathways. Conclusions: These findings suggest that kaempferol holds potential as a promising therapeutic intervention for ameliorating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

Konjac glucomannan is a water-soluble, nonionic high-molecular-mass polysaccharide with good water-holding, film-forming, gelation, and biocompatibility properties. Among the many studies on konjac glucomannan-based composite materials, the studies of physically modified composite films have attracted much attention and shown promising applications in the field of new food packaging materials. In this review, the molecular structure and properties of konjac glucomannan are outlined, with a special focus on the types, morphological and structural characteristics, intermolecular interactions of the blending components, formation mechanism and functional properties of konjac glucomannan-based physically modified composite films and recent progress in their application.

This is a paper in the field of metallurgical engineering. Pellets were prepared from vanadium and titanium magnetite concentrates from Liaoxi, and the preheating characteristics and roasting characteristics of the pellets were studied. Results show that the strength of preheating ball can reach 819 N when preheating for 15 min at 900℃, and the strength of the ball reached 3020 N at 1100℃ for 15 min under the optimum preheating system. The oxidation degree of the pellet is 97% at 900℃ for 15 min, and the temperature has a stronger influence on the oxidation degree than time.With the increase of oxidation temperature, with the increase of preoxidation temperature, magnetite in the pellets changes into hematite and ilmenite into ferrobrookite. With the increase of calcination temperature, the crystal in pellet grows up, the porosity decreases and the structure becomes denser.

Abstract Background Copper homeostasis is associated with malignant biological behavior in various tumors. The excessive accumulation of copper can induce tumor death, which is named cuproptosis, and it is also closely related to tumor progression and the formation of the immune microenvironment. However, the associations of cuproptosis with glioblastoma (GBM) prognosis and microenvironment construction are poorly understood. Method First, TCGA and GEO (GSE83300, GSE74187) merged datasets were used to analyze the association of cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) with GBM. Then, we performed cluster analysis of CRGs in GBM from the GEO (GSE83300, GSE74187) and TCGA merged datasets. Subsequently, the prognostic risk model was constructed by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) according to gene expression features in CRG clusters. Next, we performed a series of in-depth analyses, including tumor mutational burden (TMB) analysis, cluster analysis, and GBM IDH status prediction. Finally, RARRES2 was identified as a target gene for GBM treatment, especially IDH wild-type GBM. In addition, we further analyzed the correlation of CRG clusters and RARRES2 expression with the GBM immune microenvironment by ESTIMATE and CIBERSORT analyses. In vitro experiments were conducted to demonstrate that targeting RARRES2 inhibits glioblastoma progression and macrophage infiltration, particularly IDH wild-type GBM. Results In the present study, we demonstrated that the CRG cluster was closely related to GBM prognosis and immune cell infiltration. Moreover, the prognostic risk model constructed with the three genes (MMP19, G0S2, RARRES2) associated with the CRG clusters could well evaluate the prognosis and immune cell infiltration in GBM. Subsequently, after further analyzing the tumor mutational burden (TMB) in GBM, we confirmed that RARRES2 in the prognostic risk model could be used as a crucial gene signature to predict the prognosis, immune cell infiltration and IDH status of GBM patients. Conclusion This study fully revealed the potential clinical impact of CRGs on GBM prognosis and the microenvironment, and determined the effect of the crucial gene (RARRES2) on the prognosis and tumor microenvironment construction of GBM, meanwhile, our study also revealed over-expressed RARRES2 is related to the IDH satus of GBM, which provides a novel strategy for the treatment of GBM, particularly IDH wild-type GBM.

IntroductionThe BAHD (benzylalcohol O-acetyl transferase, anthocyanin O-hydroxycinnamoyl transferase, N-hydroxycinnamoyl anthranilate benzoyl transferase and deacetylvindoline 4-O-acetyltransferase), has various biological functions in plants, including catalyzing the biosynthesis of terpenes, phenolics and esters, participating in plant stress response, affecting cell stability, and regulating fruit quality. MethodsBioinformatics methods, real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR technology, and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography combined with an Orbitrap mass spectrometer were used to explore the relationship between the BAHD gene family and malonyl ginsenosides in Panax ginseng. ResultsIn this study, 103 BAHD genes were identified in P. ginseng, mainly distributed in three major clades. Most PgBAHDs contain cis-acting elements associated with abiotic stress response and plant hormone response. Among the 103 genes, 68 PgBAHDs are WGD (whole-genome duplication) genes. The significance of malonylation in biosynthesis has garnered considerable attention in the study of malonyltransferases. The phylogenetic tree results showed 34 PgBAHDs were clustered with genes that have malonyl characterization. Among them, seven PgBAHDs (PgBAHD4, 45, 65, 74, 90, 97, and 99) showed correlations > 0.9 with crucial enzyme genes involved in ginsenoside biosynthesis and > 0.8 with malonyl ginsenosides. These seven genes were considered potential candidates involved in the biosynthesis of malonyl ginsenosides. DiscussionThese results help elucidate the structure, evolution, and functions of the P. ginseng BAHD gene family, and establish the foundation for further research on the mechanism of BAHD genes in ginsenoside biosynthesis.

Fire detection is an important technology to reliably guarantee the safety of power transmission scenarios. An effective fire detection model can help fire-fighting robots be deployed in a timely and accurate manner. However, under hazy conditions, the fire information in the image will appear blurred, resulting in a decrease in the accuracy of the fire detection model. In response to this problem, this paper designs a hazy fire detection enhancement model based on two-stage attention and fusion loss. First, the visual multi-head self-attention model is used to extract fire features in the first stage, and then through the channel dimension and spatial dimension attention as the reconstruction augmentation module for the second stage. The color loss is computed by color space conversion and combined with structural information restored loss. The dehazing and fire detection experiments are carried out on the fire dataset. The fire image restoration evaluation metrics and fire detection evaluation metrics are calculated. The experimental results verified the promotion and strengthening effect of the proposed dehazing model on the fire detection task.

Red mud (RM) and Yellow River sediment (YRS) are challenging to handle as waste materials. In this study, RM with geopolymer and heavy metal adsorption characteristics was combined with YRS and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) to develop a porous geopolymer with high strength and high adsorption performance. A geopolymer cementitious material with high strength was prepared using high temperature water bath curing of 90 °C and different dosages of YRS, and a porous geopolymer concrete was further prepared. The compressive strength, fluidity and setting time of geopolymer cementitious materials were tested, and the compressive strength, porosity and permeability of porous geopolymer concrete were also tested. The environmental impact assessment of geopolymer cementitious materials was further conducted. The hydration products and microstructure of geopolymer gel materials were analyzed by XRD, SEM and FT-IR tests. The results show that the addition of YRS can effectively prolong the setting time of the geopolymer cementitious material, and the enhancement rate is as high as 150% compared with the geopolymer cementitious materials without the addition of YRS. An appropriate amount of YRS can improve the compressive strength of the geopolymer cementitious materials, and its early compressive strength can be further improved under the high temperature water bath curing of 90 °C, and the compressive strength at an age of 3 d can be up to 86.7 MPa. Meanwhile, the compressive strength of porous geopolymer concrete at an age of 28 d is up to 28.1 MPa. YRS can participate in geopolymer reactions, and high temperature water bath curing can promote the reaction degree. Curing method and YRS dosages have little effect on the porosity and permeability of the porous geopolymer concrete. The porous geopolymer has a good heavy metal adsorption effect, and the alkaline pH values can be gradually diluted to neutral.

Stereo cameras can capture the rich image textures of a scene, while LiDAR can obtain accurate 3D coordinates of point clouds of a scene. They complement each other and can achieve comprehensive and accurate environment perception through data fusion. The primary step in data fusion is to establish the relative positional relationship between the stereo cameras and the 3D LiDAR, known as extrinsic calibration. Existing methods establish the camera–LiDAR relationship by constraints of the correspondence between different planes in the images and point clouds. However, these methods depend on the planes and ignore the multipath-closure constraint among the camera–LiDAR–camera sensors, resulting in poor robustness and accuracy of the extrinsic calibration. This paper proposes a trihedron as the calibration object to effectively establish various coplanar and collinear constraints between stereo cameras and 3D LiDAR. With the various constraints, the multipath-closure constraint between the three sensors is further formulated for the extrinsic calibration. Firstly, the coplanar and collinear constraints between the camera–LiDAR–camera are built using the trihedron calibration object. Then, robust and accurate coplanar constraint information is extracted through iterative maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation. Finally, a multipath-closure extrinsic calibration method for multi-sensor systems is developed with structurally mutual validation between the cameras and the LiDAR. Extensive experiments are conducted on simulation data with different noise levels and a large amount of real data to validate the accuracy and robustness of the proposed calibration algorithm.

Global energy crisis and climate change have caused widespread concern about the development of the biomass energy industry. China has committed to exploring feasible policies to promote the development of the biomass energy industry. To analyze the impact of China’s energy tax subsidy policy (ETS) on the development of densified biomass fuel (DBF) industry, this study constructs a partial equilibrium model of the densified biomass fuel industry sector to quantitatively evaluate and optimize the effect of China’s current ETS policy based on the compilation of input–output table for the biomass energy industry sector in China. The results indicate that 1) under the current policy scenario, the price of DBF in China decreased by 15.05%, the supply increased by 40.75%, and the demand increased by 18.62%, while the price of raw biomass (RB) decreased by 14.75%, the supply increased by 42.44%, and the demand increased by 29.41%, and the revenue of enterprises increased by 20.42%. However, compared to China’s 13th Five-Year Plan national DBF development target, there is still a supply and demand gap of 16,560,549 tons. 2) under the optimized policy scenario premised on accomplishing the Chinese government’s DBF development goals, the price of DBF in China decreased by 6.9%, supply increased by 128.5%, and demand increased by 44.5%, while the price of raw biomass decreased by 7.84%, supply increased by 133.34%, demand increased by 45.71%, and corporate earnings rose by 112.1% but required the government to pay extremely high tax benefits and financial subsidies for this, which is not feasible in actual economic operation. Therefore, to support the sustainable development of the DBF industry, relevant departments should not only set the mandatory total target but also pursue production quality and market construction.

Background and objective At present, more and more studies predict invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC) through three-dimensional features of pulmonary nodules, but few studies have confirmed that three-dimensional features have more advantages in diagnosing IAC than traditional two-dimensional features of pulmonary nodules. This study analyzed the differences of chest computed tomography (CT) features between IAC and minimally invasive adenocarcinoma (MIA) from three-dimensional and two-dimensional levels, and compared the ability of diagnosing IAC. The non-invasive adenocarcinoma group includes precursor glandular lesions (PGL) and minimally invasive adenocarcinoma (MIA). Methods The clinical data of 1,045 patients with ground glass opacity (GGO) from January to December 2019 were collected. Then the correlation between preoperative CT image characteristics and pathological results were analyzed retrospectively. The independent influencing factors for the identification of IAC were screened out according to two-dimensional and three-dimensional classification by multivariate Logistic regression and the cut-off point for the identification of IAC was found out through the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. At last, the ability of diagnosing IAC was evaluated by Yoden index. Results The diameter of nodule, the diameter of solid component, the diameter of mediastinal window nodule in two-dimensional factors, and the volume of nodule, the volume of solid part and the average CT value in three-dimensional factors were independent risk factors for the diagnosis of IAC. These factors were arranged by Yoden index: solid partial volume (0.601)>nodule volume (0.536)>solid component diameter (0.525)>nodule diameter (0.518)>mediastinal window nodule diameter (0.488)>proportion of solid component volume (0.471)>1-tumor disappearance ratio (TDR) (0.468)>consolidation tumor ratio (CTR) (0.394)>average CT value (0.380). Conclusion The CT features of three-dimensional are better than two-dimensional in the diagnosis of IAC, and the size of solid components is better than the overall size of nodules.

Abstract Background The age of glioma plays a unique role in prognosis. We hypothesized that age is not positively correlated with survival prognosis and explored its exact relationship. Methods Glioma was identified from the SEER database (between 2000 and 2018). A multivariate Cox proportional regression model and restricted cubic spline (RCS) plot were used to assess the relationship between age and prognosis. Results A total of 66465 patients with glioma were included. Hazard ratios (HR) for ten-year by age: 0–9 years, HR 1.06 (0.93–1.20); 10–19 years: reference; 20–29 years, HR 0.90 (0.82–1.00); 30–39 years, HR 1.14 (1.04–1.25); 40–49 years, HR 2.09 (1.91–2.28); 50–59 years, HR 3.48 (3.19–3.79); 60–69 years, HR 4.91 (4.51–5.35);70–79 years, HR 7.95 (7.29–8.66); 80–84 years, HR 12.85 (11.74–14.06). After adjusting for covariates, the prognosis was not positively correlated with age. The smooth curve of RCS revealed this non-linear relationship: HR increased to 10 years first, decreased to 23 years, reached its lowest point, and became J-shaped. Conclusion The relationship between age and glioma prognosis is non-linear. These results challenge the applicability of current age groupings for gliomas and advocate the consideration of individualized treatment guided by precise age.

Abstract With the fast expansion of the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in recent years, the requirement for high-speed, dependable, low-latency, and full-coverage IIoT has grown more pressing. Because of the complexities of the industrial environment and the distance of the specific plant site, communication quality is severely hampered. To overcome these challenges, the space-air-ground integrated network (SAGIN) is seen as a viable solution for the IIoT. This article examines SAGIN, IIoT, product life cycle management, and how to handle these difficulties using three methodologies. This paper explores SAGIN, IIoT, product life cycle management, and how three approaches can be used to deal with these difficulties. We first introduce the overall architecture of SAGIN and then use illustrations to explain the concept of product cycle data. The final experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method.

Abstract Plant growth environment plays an important role in shaping soil microbial communities. To understand the response of soil rhizosphere microbial communities in Oplopanax elatus Nakai plant to a changed growth conditions from natural habitation to cultivation after transplant. Here, a comparative study of soil chemical properties and microbial community using high-throughput sequencing was conducted under cultivated conditions (CT) and natural conditions (WT), in Changbai Mountain, Northeast of China. The results showed that rhizosphere soil in CT had higher pH and lower content of soil organic matter (SOM) and available nitrogen compared to WT. These changes influenced rhizosphere soil microbial communities, resulting in higher soil bacterial and fungi richness and diversity in CT soil, and increased the relative abundance of bacterial phyla Acidobacteria, Chloroflexi, Gemmatimonadetes, Firmicutes and Patescibacteria, and the fungi phyla Mortierellomycota and Zoopagomycota, while decreased bacterial phyla Actinobacteria, WPS-2, Gemmatimonadetes, and Verrucomicrobia, and the fungi phyla Ascomycota, and Basidiomycota. Redundancy analysis analysis indicated soil pH and SOM were the primarily environmental drivers in shaping the rhizosphere soil microbial community in O. elatus under varied growth conditions. Therefore, more attention on soil nutrition management especially organic fertilizer inputs should be paid in O. elatus cultivation.

Abstract Background Chemoattractant is critical to recruitment of osteoclast precursors and stimulates tumor bone metastasis. However, the role of chemoattractant in bone metastasis of colorectal cancer (CRC) is still unclear. Methods Histochemistry analysis and TRAP staining were utilized to detect the bone resorption and activation of osteoclasts (OCs) after administration of CCL7 neutralizing antibody or CCR1 siRNA. qRT-PCR analysis and ELISA assay were performed to detect the mRNA level and protein level of chemoattractant. BrdU assay and Tunel assay were used to detect the proliferation and apoptosis of osteoclast precursors (OCPs). The migration of OCPs was detected by Transwell assay. Western blots assay was performed to examine the protein levels of pathways regulating the expression of CCL7 or CCR1. Results OCPs-derived CCL7 was significantly upregulated in bone marrow after bone metastasis of CRC. Blockage of CCL7 efficiently prevented bone resorption. Administration of CCL7 promoted the migration of OCPs. Lactate promoted the expression of CCL7 through JNK pathway. In addition, CCR1 was the most important receptor of CCL7. Conclusion Our study indicates the essential role of CCL7-CCR1 signaling for recruitment of OCPs in early bone metastasis of CRC. Targeting CCL7 or CCR1 could restore the bone volume, which could be a potential therapeutical target. Video Abstract

Abstract Hypoxia modulates senescence, but their physiological link remains unclear. Here, we found that eIF4E2, a hypoxia-activated translation initiation factor, interacted with GSK3β to maintain phosphorylation of p53, thus resisting senescence under hypoxia. RNA-binding protein RBM38 interacted with eIF4E to inhibit the translation of p53, but GSK3β-mediated Ser195 phosphorylation disrupted the RBM38-eIF4E interaction. Through investigation of RBM38 phosphorylation, we found that the eIF4E2-GSK3β pathway specifically regulated proline-directed serine/threonine phosphorylation (S/T-P). Importantly, peptides e2-I or G3-I that blocking eIF4E2-GSK3β interaction can inhibit the basal S/T-P phosphorylation of p53 at multiple sites, therby inducing senescence through transcriptional inhibition. Additionally, a nanobody was screened via the domain where eIF4E2 bound to GSK3β, and this nanobody inhibited S/T-P phosphorylation to promote senescence. Furthermore, hypoxia inhibited eIF4E2-GSK3β pathway by mediating S-Nitrosylation of GSK3β. Blocking eIF4E2-GSK3β interaction promoted liver senescence under hypoxia, thus leading to liver fibrosis, eventually accelerating N, N-diethylnitrosamine (DEN)-induced tumorigenesis. Interestingly, eIF4E2 isoforms with GSK3β-binding motif exclusively exist in mammals, which protect zebrafish heart against hypoxia. Together, this study reveals a mammalian eIF4E2-GSK3β pathway that prevents senescence by maintaining basal S/T-P phosphorylation of p53, which underlies hypoxia adaptation of tissues.

Abstract Immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment is a crucial factor that impedes the success of tumor immunotherapy, and tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are essential for the formation of tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is highly important brick for glioblastoma microenvironment, but whether it contributes to TAM polarization and glioblastoma immunosuppressive microenvironment is less well known. In our study, we observed that disrupting glioblastoma HA synthesis or blocking HA binding to its receptor CD44 on macrophages increased the proportion of M1 macrophages by upregulating SIRPα in macrophages, the underlying mechanism was elevated SIRPα enhanced STAT1 phosphorylation and suppressed STAT3 phosphorylation in macrophages. Subsequently, the induced macrophages could inhibit glioblastoma growth via a feedback effect. In addition, 4-methylumbelliferone (4MU), a cholecystitis drug, can disrupt the CD47/SIRPα axis by disturbing glioblastoma HA synthesis. Collectively, these findings indicated that HA plays a crucial role in macrophages polarization and CD47/SIRPα signaling between glioblastoma cells and macrophages, and suppressing the HA pathway may be a new immunotherapeutic approach for glioblastoma.

Abstract Background The prevalence of idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) is increasing worldwide and the gut microbiota is recognized to play a role in its pathology. The aim of this study was to understand the involvement of the gut–kidney axis in IMN by analyzing the composition of the gut microbiota of biopsy-proven IMN patients compared with healthy controls (HC). Methods Fecal samples from 30 patients with IMN diagnosed by renal biopsy and 30 healthy co-residents (control group) were collected for analysis in the Nephrology Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University. The microbiota composition was analyzed by a 16S rRNA microbial profiling approach. Results The results indicated that the α- and β-diversity of IMN patients differed significantly from those of the HC groups (P 2). Abundant bacterial functions related to lipid metabolism were observed among IMN group. Conclusion Patients with IMN appear to have an altered gut microbiome, which could provide reference for future research on the interaction mechanism between the intestinal flora and IMN.

As demands of renewable energy and more energy storages in power systems promote, the digital twin technology for multi-energy system draws attention from the researchers in power system and energy area. The load balancing algorithm of the digital twin server cluster significantly impacts the computing performance of the computing nodes. Optimal complete matching of a weighted bipartite graph is proposed to allocate computing task blocks to each computing node evenly. In the proposed algorithm, the computation times of simulation computing task blocks are estimated and the computation time of one single step in the task blocks are used as dynamic load indicators of the computing nodes. The indices are fed back to the scheduling server in real time. With the total steps of the simulation computing task blocks and the computation time of each single step for the task blocks, a fully weighted bipartite graph of computing nodes and simulation computing task blocks is constructed, greedy expansion of the Hungarian algorithm is used to optimize the complete matching of this weighted bipartite graph. Based on the optimization results, the task blocks are allocated to the computing nodes correspondingly in real time. Simulation-driven model parameter correction function, the representative simulation computing applications of digital twin for multi-energy system was used to test the proposed algorithm and the results show a significant improvement of the load balancing effect at the computing nodes.

Abstract The subduction initiation and the early‐stage tectonics of the southern Paleo‐Asian Ocean have rarely been discussed. To address these problems, we report new geochemical and geochronological data of arc‐related volcanic rocks in the Huaniushan arc of the southern Beishan. Basaltic andesites and high‐Mg rocks yield zircon U‐Pb ages of 449–422 Ma and 460–437 Ma, respectively. The basaltic andesite is a continental arc‐related tholeiite with moderate amounts of TiO2; and is enriched in light rare earth elements (LREE), such as Rb, Ba, Th and Sr; it is also depleted in Nb, Ta and Eu; and has moderate εHf (t) (−0.3 to +5.5) and εNd (t) (−3.48 to +0.03) values; and high (87Sr/86Sr)i (0.7066–0.7079) values. The high‐Mg andesite and dacite are sanukitic‐type high‐Mg rocks, which have high MgO (Mg# = 49–62) contents, A/CNK (0.82–2.36) and (La/Sm)N values, low Sr/Y (3–15) and Ba/Th (11–182) ratios, moderate to low εHf (t) (−16.7 to +7.6) and εNd (t) (−3.74 to +0.05), and high (87Sr/86Sr)i values. All geochemical data indicate that they were sourced from mixing between mantle‐peridotite‐derived melts and silicic melts generated by the subducting oceanic slab and/or sediments in a hot subduction setting. After integrating the Sanukitic high‐Mg andesites (HMAs) with previously reported Nb‐enriched basalt, volumes of arc‐related tholeiitic to calc‐alkaline volcanic rocks, I‐ to S‐type granites, and HT eclogites, we conclude that the subduction initiation was one of the most likely geodynamic process for the metamorphism and magmatism in the Middle Ordovician to early Silurian.

Production data from a vanadium (V)-containing titaniferous magnetite (VTM) smelting blast furnace (BF) ironmaking plant and a V-recovering basic oxygen furnace (BOF) shop were collected over a period of 1 year. The corresponding thermodynamics was analyzed in terms of V reduction in the BF operation and V oxidation in the BOF operation. The thermodynamic calculations were performed using the software Multi-Phase Equilibrium (MPE), in which generalized central atom model was introduced into the description of molten slag and applied for the slag database. The effects of operating conditions on V distribution ratios between slag and hot metal/semi-steel were analyzed and compared with the plant data. The simulated results could reproduce the variation of V distribution ratios with slag temperature and composition and provide the guidance for operators to control V distribution behavior for the better process operation.

Abstract Reconstructing the tectonic architecture of the southern Altaids is of great importance to piece together the continental growth history of the Central Asian continent. In this paper, we address the subduction‐accretion process of the Paleo‐Tianshan Ocean, one branch of the South Tianshan Ocean, in the southern Altaids, through a detailed geological and geochemical investigation of the Wulanmoren Accretionary Complex (WAC). The WAC is composed of ophiolitic mélanges, ocean plate stratigraphy mélanges, and turbiditic coherent units. In this study, we present key geological, petrological, and geochemical evidence indicating back‐arc and ocean island affinity of the igneous rocks of the WAC. Zircon U‐Pb dates of these rocks ages range between 380.2 ± 1.3 and 302.0 ± 5.3 Ma. The sedimentary matrix units of the mélanges were deposited in the Early Devonian (∼405 Ma) to the Late Triassic (∼222 Ma), rather than Silurian strata as previously thought. However, the ages of some detrital zircons in the sedimentary matrix are Precambrian, pointing to a complex evolution involving multiple ocean island terrains and island arcs of different ages that accreted from the mid‐Paleozoic to the Early Mesozoic.

The Pamir orogen was formed by the subducted accretion and amalgamation of Cimmerian terranes from the northern margin of Gondwana with the southern margin of Eurasia. The Mesozoic magmatic rocks are widespread in Pamir and record the tectonic evolution in different stages. The Rushan–Pshart suture zone represents an ancient ocean between Central and Southern Pamir. This paper reports the petrography, geochronology, and geochemistry of Cretaceous granites and diabase dikes that intrude into the Pshart complex. The granites were emplaced between 124 and 118 Ma, based on their zircon U-Pb ages. These granites are characterized by high-K calc-alkaline, low magnesian, and high SiO2, A/CNK, and K2O+Na2O values. They also display strong depletion of Ba, Sr, Eu, and Ti and comparatively weak negative Nb anomalies in spidergrams. Thus, we proposed in this study that these are highly fractionated, strongly peraluminous S-type granites. They were generated by the partial melting of the metasedimentary rocks in the plagioclase stability field and underwent subsequent fractional crystallization during their ascent. The diabase dikes contain low SiO2, and high MgO levels and negative Nb and Ta anomalies, which were interpreted to form in an extensional environment. Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous closure of the Rushan–Pshart Ocean and subsequent foundering of its oceanic lithosphere caused local extension and upwelling of the asthenospheric mantle. The underplating of mafic magma provided a heat source to melt the metasedimentary-derived granitic that formed in the initial post-collisional environment. The subsequent local extension caused the emplacement of diabase dikes. Based on our new data and combined with data from previous studies, we concluded that the Rushan–Pshart suture zone is the remnant of the Meso-Tethys Ocean and may represent the western continuation of the Bangong–Nujiang suture of the Tibetan Plateau.

Summary: Diagnosis of primary brain tumors relies heavily on histopathology. Although various computational pathology methods have been developed for automated diagnosis of primary brain tumors, they usually require neuropathologists’ annotation of region of interests or selection of image patches on whole-slide images (WSI). We developed an end-to-end Vision Transformer (ViT) – based deep learning architecture for brain tumor WSI analysis, yielding a highly interpretable deep-learning model, ViT-WSI. Based on the principle of weakly supervised machine learning, ViT-WSI accomplishes the task of major primary brain tumor type and subtype classification. Using a systematic gradient-based attribution analysis procedure, ViT-WSI can discover diagnostic histopathological features for primary brain tumors. Furthermore, we demonstrated that ViT-WSI has high predictive power of inferring the status of three diagnostic glioma molecular markers, IDH1 mutation, p53 mutation, and MGMT methylation, directly from H&E-stained histopathological images, with patient level AUC scores of 0.960, 0.874, and 0.845, respectively.

Reservoir water and rainfall directly lead to the change in groundwater levals, which is the main factor inducing landslide. Most of the existing studies discuss the influence of reservoir water and rainfalls on landslide deformation based on monitoring data, and fail to reveal the groundwater response law of the reservoir landslide. The groundwater saturation line calculation model does not consider the influence of rainfall and reservoir water at the same time, and the boundary conditions of the model are quite different from the actual situation of the reservoir landslide. The research is to reveal the dynamic response law of groundwater in a reservoir landslide, and construct a calculation model of groundwater phreatic line closer to the actual situation. The dynamic monitoring of the groundwater levels in the Shiliushubao landslide of the Three Gorges Reservoir was carried out, and the results reveal the dynamic response law of the groundwater levels of the landslide under the conditions of the reservoir water rise and fall and rainfall. The groundwater seepage field is similar to the laminar flow. The groundwater levels in the front and middle of the landslide are almost synchronized with the reservoir water level. The groundwater levels in the rear of the landslide are mainly affected by rainfall. Daily rainfall of 30 mm will cause obvious changes in the groundwater levels. The differential equation of landslide groundwater unsteady seepage under the coupling condition of periodic reservoir water level fluctuation and random rainfall is analyzed and established. Subsequently, the calculation model of the groundwater level infiltration line of the landslide of the reservoir is set up and used for the actual monitoring results to verify the accuracy of the modified model. The calculation results of the calculation model are employed to analyze the seepage field of the landslide under different working conditions, and it is concluded that the reservoir water level can affect the landslide within about 145 m from the front edge. The rainfall and reservoir water level change the thresholds that trigger groundwater changes are 0.03 m/d and 0.1 m/d, respectively, and there are certain differences in the impact of rainfall and reservoir water level on the groundwater levels under different combinations of working conditions.

Background and objective At present, the research progress of targeted therapy for epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene mutations in lung adenocarcinoma is very rapid, which brings new hope for the treatment of advanced lung adenocarcinoma patients. However, the specific imaging and pathological features of EGFR and ALK gene mutations in adenocarcinoma are still controversial. This study will further explore the correlation between EGFR, ALK gene mutations and imaging and pathological features in invasive lung adenocarcinoma. Methods A total of 525 patients with lung adenocarcinoma who underwent surgery in our center from January 2018 to December 2019 were included. According to the results of postoperative gene detection, the patients were divided into EGFR gene mutation group, ALK gene mutation group and wild group, and the EGFR gene mutation group was divided into exon 19 and exon 21 subtypes. The pathological features of the mutation group and wild group, such as histological subtype, lymph node metastasis, visceral pleural invasion (VPI) and imaging features such as tumor diameter, consolidation tumor ratio (CTR), lobulation sign, spiculation sign, pleural retraction sign, air bronchus sign and vacuole sign were analyzed by univariate analysis and multivariate Logistic regression analysis to explore whether the gene mutation group had specific manifestations. Results EGFR gene mutation group was common in women (OR=2.041, P=0.001), with more pleural traction sign (OR=1.506, P=0.042), and had little correlation with lymph node metastasis and VPI (P>0.05). Among them, exon 21 subtype was more common in older (OR=1.022, P=0.036), women (OR=2.010, P=0.007), and was associated with larger tumor diameter (OR=1.360, P=0.039) and pleural traction sign (OR=1.754, P=0.029). Exon 19 subtype was common in women (OR=2.230, P=0.009), with a high proportion of solid components (OR=1.589, P=0.047) and more lobulation sign (OR=2.762, P=0.026). ALK gene mutations were likely to occur in younger patients (OR=2.950, P=0.045), with somking history (OR=1.070, P=0.002), and there were more micropapillary components (OR=4.184, P=0.019) and VPI (OR=2.986, P=0.034) in pathology. Conclusion The EGFR and ALK genes mutated adenocarcinomas have specific imaging and clinicopathological features, and the mutations in exon 19 or exon 21 subtype have different imaging features, which is of great significance in guiding the clinical diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary nodules.

Extracted-vanadium residue (EVR), formed during the smelting and extraction of High-chromium vanadium-titanium magnetite (HCVTM), should be used cyclically, and its use as a sintering material to prepare sinters for blast-furnace smelting is a viable option. The effects of EVR and MgO on the fundamental sintering characteristics of HCVTM, such as assimilative temperature, liquid phase fluidity index, adhesive phase strength, and crystal stock consolidation strength, were studied using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, as well as phase composition analysis and microstructure analysis. The assimilative temperature (the lowest reaction temperature between sintering materials and CaO) of HCVTM by adding 0–8 wt% EVR decreased. The liquid phase fluidity index of HCVTM with six wt% EVR is best. The adhesive phase strength decreased from 1162 to 356 N. However, the crystal stock consolidation strength increased to the highest value of 2170 N by adding six wt% EVR. Based on the primary sintering characteristics effect of EVR on HCVTM, the optimum EVR amount is six wt%. After adopting the six wt% EVR added HCVTM with relatively good properties, the assimilative temperature of mixed ores increased from 1290 to 1320 °C with MgO added percent of 0–3 wt%. The liquid phase fluidity index decreased as a whole from 0.88 to 0.796–0.828, and the crystal stock consolidation strength also reduced from 2170 to 1090 N, indicating that both the liquid phase fluidity index and the crystal stock consolidation strength have changed slightly as a result of the addition of >1% MgO. However, adding 1% MgO improved the adhesive phase strength to a high value. The perovskite formation is restrained as Ti4+ diffuses into the liquid phase with the increase of MgO. Based on the effect of the fundamental sintering characteristics of EVR and MgO on HCVTM, a sintering blending ratio of 6 wt% EVR and one wt% MgO is recommended.

Shiliushubao landslide is an important part of the Huanglashi landslide group, which has attracted much attention for a long time. In this paper, the detailed material composition and structure of the Shiliushubao landslide are obtained by the exploration, and the deformation characteristics and deformation mechanism of the landslide are studied through automatic GPS surface displacement, groundwater level, rainfall monitoring in recent two years. The results show that the front deformation is the main deformation of the Shiliushubao landslide at first, and at present, the deformation of the middle and rear part is the main deformation. Rainfall is the main reason for the reactivation of Shiliushubao landslide, which is continuously deformed by the joint action of reservoir water level rise and fall and rainfall. The small deformation of the leading edge is mainly due to the high permeability of the front edge and the small hydraulic gradient; the large deformation of the middle and rear part is mainly due to the small permeability of the middle and rear part and the relatively large hydraulic gradient. Rainfall has a great influence on the groundwater of landslide, which makes the hydraulic gradient of groundwater increase 5～9 times. This study can provide an important reference for monitoring - early warning and prevention of landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir area.

The incidence and mortality of lung cancer rank first among all malignant tumors in China. With the popularization of high resolution computed tomography (CT) in clinic, chest CT has become an important means of clinical screening for early lung cancer and reducing the mortality of lung cancer. Imaging findings of early lung adenocarcinoma often show partial solid nodules with ground glass components. With the development of imaging, the relationship between the imaging features of some solid nodules and their prognosis has attracted more and more attention. At the same time, with the development of 3D-reconstruction technology, clinicians can improve the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment of such nodules.This article focuses on the traditional imaging analysis of partial solid nodules and the imaging analysis based on 3D reconstruction, and systematically expounds the advantages and disadvantages of both.
