We investigated the usefulness of a metastatic (secondary) breast cancer Infographics designed to enhance knowledge about symptoms of metastatic breast cancer in women diagnosed with breast cancer. Women with a primary or metastatic diagnosis of breast cancer who had not been in receipt of the Infographics previously, were sent the Infographics and asked to complete a questionnaire measuring their views of the usefulness of the Infographics in a number of domains. They were also asked to complete questionnaires on, anxiety and depression, coping, emotion regulation strategies and perceived cognitive functioning. Results showed that women advocated the use of the Infographics in medical and health care settings, as well as its ability in equipping themwith the relevant knowledge on signs of recurrence, its benefits in empowering control and reducing fears and uncertainties regarding metastatic breast cancer. Exploratory analysis showed that individual differences in trait vulnerability to anxiety and in emotion regulation strategies modulated women’s responses suggesting the use of tailored approaches in the communication of the Infographics with patients. Our results point to the overall benefits of the Infographics in a number of domains. Implications for applications in healthcare settings are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for nursing students is crucial for improving patient outcomes in cardiac arrest scenarios. This study assesses the impact of infographic versus video feedback on enhancing nursing students' clinical skills in Basic Life Support (BLS). Methods: In a randomized controlled setting, 76 nursing students at Torbat Heydariyeh University of Medical Sciences were divided into two groups: one received infographic-based education and the other video feedback training. Pre- and post-intervention assessments measured knowledge and skill retention using validated questionnaires. Results: Post-training, the infographic group showed significantly higher knowledge scores, while the video feedback group exhibited greater improvement in CPR skill performance. No significant differences were noted in pre-training assessment scores between the groups. Conclusion: Infographic-based education enhances BLS knowledge retention, and video feedback improves practical CPR skills. Loneliness is a common experience amongst adolescents. As adolescents spend much of their time in school, it is important that school staff can support adolescent students experiencing loneliness. The current study aimed to explore teachers' experiences of a 1-page loneliness toolkit regarding adolescent loneliness. An online survey to collect ratings and descriptions of experiences was distributed to secondary school teachers. Findings showed that both self-rated knowledge and experience of students experiencing loneliness were positively correlated with how useful teachers found the loneliness toolkit. Three themes were developed about how useful teachers found the toolkit; clarity, brings attention to loneliness, and communication. Two themes were developed about how the user experience of the toolkit could be improved; education, and interactive student support. Future research should investigate more effective methodologies aimed at supporting adolescents experiencing loneliness to aid teachers in supporting their students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Typical data available to engineering educators about the state of degrees awarded is disseminated via various groups. The most salient limitations to each of these sources are a lack of disaggregating data by multiple personal identities and an annualized reporting schedule hindering interpretations over time. This analysis ascertains how female degrees earned in engineering changed for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree levels from 2005 to 2021. We sought to understand trends by disaggregating ASEE records by gender, race, and engineering discipline. Data gathered from EDMS were cleaned, analyzed, and visualized, following principles for data sense making and human factors. Results highlight women gravitating towards Biological, Environmental, and Computational engineering disciplines. The total number of all degrees awarded is increasing for all genders in all disciplines, but these trends are not evenly distributed across disciplines. While it is true that the overall proportion of women in engineering wavered near 20%, this statistic does not tell the whole story of what has been occurring in engineering. By disaggregating infographics, we tracked percentage growth in certain fields as well as overall increases in number of degrees awarded at all levels of higher education. Background: Meals on Wheels (MoWs) could help adults with care and support needs continue living independently. However, many people are not aware that the service still exists in England, or that it could provide benefits beyond nutrition. Objective: Working with an existing advisory group of six people with lived experience of MoWs (an adult who uses MoWs and people who have referred a family member to MoWs), this work aimed to co‐produce knowledge translation resources (two infographics and a film) to raise awareness of MoWs and their benefits. Methods: Four participatory online workshops were held in May–July 2023, to establish perceived high‐priority themes from recent qualitative research that should be included in the resources, and preferences about message content, language, design, and how the resources should be disseminated. Findings: The most important perceived MoWs benefits that the group agreed should be included in the resources were: the importance of a nutritious meal that requires no preparation; the service's reliability/consistency; the importance of interactions in reducing social isolation, and; the ease to commence the service. The group highlighted the need for language to be nontechnical and invitational, and for images to relate to respective messages, and be inclusive of anyone who could benefit from MoWs. Several routes for dissemination were proposed, highlighting the need to disseminate to the NHS, social care organisations and community groups. Conclusion: These co‐produced resources could enhance adult social care delivery in England, as raising awareness of MoWs and their benefits could increase referral rates, so that more adults with care and support needs can benefit from the service. Patient or Public Contribution: An advisory group of people with lived experience of MoWs (users of the service and family referrers) participated in the workshops, extensively discussed the findings of earlier research, co‐produced the knowledge translation resources, and advised on the implications and future dissemination steps. This study explores the integration of key Transformative Learning Theory (TLT) principles into design education to foster Visual Literacy (VL) and promote awareness of environmental issues among undergraduate students. Through thematic analysis of 22 illustrated infographics, ideation sketches and supporting textual data created by art and design students, the study examines patterns and insights related to perspective transformation, critical reflection, and visual writing skills. Findings reveal pedagogical efficacy when prompting students to explore counter-narratives to the prevailing negative zeitgeist, resulting in perspective transformation and critical reflection of the design process. In turn, this perspective shift and critical reflection fostered the development of students' abilities to convey complex ideas visually, thus broadening their visual vocabulary to advocate for positive change. Three main categories were considered: Critical Reflection, Perspective Transformation, and Visual Writing Skills, and six sub-categories were identified: Implicit Reflection, Paradigm Shift, Alternative Narratives, Rhetorical Concepts, Intentional Visual-Verbal Communication, and Emotional Visual Language. Implications for scholars include insights into curriculum development and the promotion of ethical and sustainable design practices, while pragmatic applications for faculty offer actionable recommendations for enhancing teaching practices. The study underscores the importance of ethical considerations, diverse perspectives, and real-world applications in nurturing students' growth as innovative, ethical and sustainable designers. The purpose of this paper is to examine how infographics are used in the dynamics of designing or creating in the teaching and learning process. Utilising a bibliometric approach and content analysis, we examined a sample of 760 documents from the Web of Science and Scopus databases with no lower time limit until November 2023. The analyses aimed to identify trends, including main topics, authors, sources, most cited articles, institutional affiliations, and countries in the literature. This bibliometric approach allows for the observation of trends in the educational application of promoting visual literacy through students' design or creation of infographics in formal and informal learning settings. Initial publications emerged in 2007, gaining momentum from 2014 to the present. The most prolific fields were medical science, chemistry, and computer science. This investigation shows that educational institutions could employ infographics beyond present boundaries to prepare students—particularly Generation Alpha, digital natives—for a data-driven society. Institutions should expand their use of infographics to improve visual literacy and address the changing educational requirements of students in a dynamic learning environment. Overall, this paper provides insights into the readiness of educators and institutions to engage Generation Alpha, the digital natives, through visual literacy and infographics. Abstract The presence of diagrams or infographics in English textbooks is believed to support Indonesia’s curriculum goal of communication using multimodal resources. However, the functions of infographics in language learning have not been well understood. This study examines how infographics accompanied by verbal texts can convey visual metalanguage. The images from an English textbook designed for X grades were used as the basis for this study. Drawing on the theories of Visual Design Grammar (Kress & Leeuwen, 2006) and Systemic Functional Linguistics (Halliday & Matthiessen, 2004, 2013), this study explores the images and instructions in infographics. The systemic functional approach to multimodal discourse analysis (SF-MDA) was employed. The results of this study reveal the functions of the images in the textbook and how metalanguage competencies can support the teaching of multimodal texts in a representative and compositional manner. The study also provides several pedagogical implications for teachers in teaching diagrammatic images. Gambar-gambar dari buku teks bahasa Inggris, yang dirancang untuk kelas X, dijadikan sumber penelitian ini. Dibangun di atas Grammatika Desain Visual (Kress & Leeuwen, 2006) dan Linguistik Fungsional Sistematik (Halliday & Matthiessen, 2004), penelitian ini mengeksplorasi gambar dan instruksi dalam diagram dan infografis. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan fungsional sistemik dengan analisis wacana multimodal (SF-MDA). Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan fungsi gambar dalam buku teks dan bagaimana kompetensi metabahasa dapat membantu untuk mendukung pengajaran teks multimodal secara representatif dan komposisional. Studi ini juga memberikan beberapa implikasi pedagogis bagi guru untuk mengajar gambar diagram.

This study was conducted to determine the functions of the creolized text and to identify the percentage of such texts on Russian news sites. The study proved that more than 2/3 of Russian news sites use creolization. The main functions of creolized texts are determined: improving the quality of the design and content of the site, enriching with a large amount of information, improving its transmission and perception, optimizing the image in search engines. The study was carried out using the methods of analysis, synthesis, classification and measurement.

Infographics have been recognised as effective visual tools for concise and accessible communication of data and information in various higher education disciplines, particularly in medical education. However, there is a lack of research on their impact on professional skills, difficulty levels, motivation, and overall satisfaction in health science students. Thus, the present study aimed to analyse the knowledge and usage of graphical resources among health science students and evaluate their competencies, the level of challenge they encountered, and their motivation and satisfaction after completing an infographic creation activity. The InfoHealth educational innovation project, conducted by five teachers from the Faculty of Medicine, served as the context for this study, with 143 students voluntarily participating. The intervention involved students working in groups of 2–3 and selecting their own topics for the infographics while receiving instruction, online guidance, and feedback from teachers. A questionnaire was administered to assess students’ perception of skill development and satisfaction with the activity. The findings revealed that schemes were the most recognized and used graphical summaries, compared to synoptic tables and Venn diagrams. The activity led to an increase in professional skills acquisition, motivation, and satisfaction, positively impacting students’ interest in evidence-based practice and reinforcing their knowledge. This study highlights the potential of infographics as a pedagogical tool for competency development and student engagement in health science education, suggesting the need for further research comparing infographics with traditional study methods and involving multidisciplinary teams to promote essential skills for future clinical practice.

Purpose: The article aims to determine whether the images presented in the non-financial reports of food companies are used to legitimize their operations.Methodology/approach: A literature analysis and quantitative and qualitative content analysis were used. Findings: The results indicate that the photos presented in the non-financial reports of food companies constitute an element of their legitimization strategy, serving to build the image of a socially responsible organization. This is evidenced by the often-recurring idealized images that present the happiness and contentment of employees and their families, as well as local communities, or depicting nature unspoiled by economic activity. The use of such practices aims to elicit a preconceived impression of the company’s commitment to sustainability among stakeholders. Research limitations/implications: As this is a pilot study and a prelude to further research on information visualization in non-financial reports, the study was limited to eight companies operating in the food industry, one form of information visualization, and one reporting period. Therefore, there is a need for further research to determine whether companies in other industries and regions use photos and other forms of in-formation visualization to gain legitimacy for their operations. Practical implications: The study highlights the significance of the photos included in non-financial reports in establishing the image of companies committed to sustainability. It expands knowledge on the importance of information visualization in a company’s communication with its stakeholders. Originality/value: The article addresses a very topical but insufficiently researched issue in Poland concerning the use of photography for impression management in non-financial reporting. This is the first paper to present an analysis of photographs from the perspective of a company’s message creation for stakeholders to legitimize its activities.

Infographics are visual storytelling techniques used to communicate complex information. However, infographics can be misleading if they are not created ethically. When universities teach how to create infographics, they often do so without emphasizing the ethical issues underlying infographics. To address this gap, we designed a study to educate statistics and data science students about the ethics of infographics by using Rest model's three stages: awareness, orientation, and intention. Students' awareness of the ethical issues underlying infographics was captured before and after sensitizing them to five ethical principles derived from the AI4People's framework applied to a data science context. The students were then exposed to scenarios with ethical dilemmas. Their identification of the ethical principles in these scenarios was measured. The results showed a significant increase in students' awareness of the ethical issues underpinning the interpretation of infographics, suggesting that ethical training of current users and future designers would be beneficial. In digital culture, visualizations are a prevalent and ubiquitous form of communication. A veteran journalistic tool, and an increasingly popular one in digital politics, visualizations offer informative value, attract readership, and increase engagement. Visualizations' multimodality enables them to convey rhetoric through informative, narrative and visual strategies, making them particularly well-suited for future-oriented discourse. Despite the rise of visualization-focused scholarly work over the past decade, several analytical lacunas remain, due to visualizations' multimodal nature and their rich array of actors, contexts and usages in the digital world. Specifically, no scholarly approach examines forward-looking visualizations comprehensively, addressing the ways in which their rhetorical layers coalesce to broker knowledge in multimodal predictive discourse. To fill this gap, our paper proposes a holistic framework for their analysis, addressing knowledge-brokering functions, predictive components, and rhetorical strategies. Thus, we ask, 'How are predictive visualizations rhetorically constructed to mediate the future?' and answer through conceptualization complemented by qualitative analysis of predictive pandemic visualizations from journalistic and social media. We begin by creating a theoretically informed framework, based on existing perspectives from data-journalism studies, projection studies, and visualization scholarship, which we then refine through analytical workshops and empirical application. Our final analytical framework encapsulates each visualization's rhetorical strategies, its knowledge-brokering functions, predictive structure, and their interrelations, highlighting the division of rhetorical and predictive labor across each visualization's components. We conclude with an analytical epilogue in which we demonstrate the usefulness of this framework in holistically analyzing predictive multimodal rhetoric by revisiting the elusive concept of rhetorical complexity in predictive visualizations. Infographics have the capability to organize and display information in a way that is easy for viewers to retrieve and make observations. While infographics have been successful in various fields, their potential benefits in composition writing have not been explored. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the perspectives of Iraqi EFL students who used infographics as an educational technology tool in composition writing, and to identify how gender influences students' performance when using infographics in EFL writing classes. The significance of this study lies in its integration of infographics as an educational technology tool for teaching writing, aligning with the current trend of technology integration in education and meeting the demands of the 21st century. A pre-tests, post-tests, and questionnaires have been used to collect data. The questionnaire consisted of 28 close-ended items structured on a Likert rating scale, with responses ranging from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree. The responses were analyzed using Google Sheets and SPSS software for quantitative analysis. The conclusions indicate that a significant proportion of students consider using infographics to promote cooperative learning and teamwork. Furthermore, these results showed significant gender differences, with female students using infographics more frequently than male students. This demonstrates the substantial interest among women in utilizing technology in learning, highlighting the potential for investment in English language skills development and educational technology. Finally, it is recommended to incorporate infographics into teaching practices across disciplines to enhance students' learning experiences and foster essential skills required in the 21st century. Objective: The study examines the effects of message modalities (visual vs. textual) and rhetorical approaches (narrative vs. expository information) on the elaboration and recall of COVID-19 vaccine information among individuals with diverse levels of science literacy. Methods: We recruited 328 U.S. adults who were not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and measured their message elaboration and information recall following exposure to a comic strip, an infographic, a written story, and a short article pertaining to the safety of COVID-19 vaccines. Results: Results indicated no significant difference in levels of message elaboration and information recall among the four treatment groups. However, exposure to narratives mitigated the gap in message elaboration, whereas exposure to visual information reduced the disparity in information recall among individuals with varying levels of science literacy. Conclusion: Narratives can serve as a powerful tool for engaging individuals with lower levels of science literacy, as well as reducing the dependence on scientific knowledge for information processing among those with higher literacy levels. Furthermore, the inclusion of visuals in vaccine messages can augment their effectiveness in fostering shared knowledge among audiences with varying levels of science literacy.

La presa di coscienza sui cambiamenti climatici, le politiche dello European Green Deal e il PNRR in Italia, hanno generato, tra il 2017 e il 2021, importanti cambi di paradigma strategico-legislativi. Il presente studio si interroga sulla comunicazione di questi temi tramite l’utilizzo degli strumenti dell’information design. Nello studio sono considerate infografiche prodotte in tre livelli di azione (globale, europeo, nazionale) da quattro istituzioni. L’obiettivo è verificarne la coerenza di contenuto e analizzare le strategie di visualizzazione del dato scientifico.

The research focuses on the impact of infographics as a tool for English learning trough student’s perceptions. The purpose of this research is to identify the positive impact of using infographics for students' learning and teaching activities in the classroom and also the appropriate learning media by educators. The researchers used qualitative research methods in analyzing the data that was collected. The instrument of the research was a questionnaire that consists of questions and statements that must be filled in by the elected respondents. The questionnaire was targeted to students of Universitas Tidar, especially the student of the English Education Department study program in the second and fourth semesters. There were many as 41 participants as a sample in this study. The results of this study show that based on the students' experience of knowing and using infographics in the learning activity, most of them agree that the use of infographics as learning media has a very positive impact. Infographics are also the suitable medium to improve students' quality in understanding the material and their interest in learning.

However, current education systems showcase the need for development guidelines and the best practices targeted at designing and developing infographics while exploring the major economic and social impacts of infographics on education. This study examines the concept and role of infographics in education, methodologies, trends, and obstacles. It evaluates potential economic implications and gives insights to design and development experts. The study is based on a scoping literature review methodology, uncovering the conceptual background and the role of infographics. The study emphasizes the unique functions of infographics in data visualization for educational purposes and investigates the current trends and practices in infographics creation. The key challenges associated with the use of infographics are also discussed. Furthermore, the study attempts to identify the cutting-edge frameworks for infographic creation and development while evaluating their economic implications for the role of global education. Finally, the potential recommendations for creating successful infographics while focusing on professional design and development are also covered. The guided literature review will be vital for understanding and using infographics in education.

Preserving indigenous languages, notably the Yoruba language, is imperative for both cultural heritage conservation and academic advancement, particularly within linguistic studies. As one of Nigeria's top three spoken languages, the Yoruba language faces a threat to its counting and numbering systems due to English language influence, prompting a critical need for empirical investigation. To address this research gap, our quantitative study experimentally explores the impact of infographics on language instruction among seventy-one junior secondary students. Results reveal substantial gaps in students' prior exposure to infographics. Also, positive attitudes and increased engagement with infographics significantly improve comprehension of the Yoruba counting and numbering system, with no significant difference in learning outcomes based on gender. These findings underscore the potential of infographics in preserving the Yoruba language, advocating for its integration into indigenous language studies to enhance language preservation efforts. This study emphasizes the instrumental role of infographics in safeguarding cultural and linguistic heritage, advocating for their incorporation into educational strategies for indigenous languages.

Exposure to the palm industry begins in the early stages of secondary school, highlighted through the agricultural sector topic in the geography subject syllabus. However, the information provided about the palm industry is insufficient to give young learners adequate exposure. Consequently, Generation Z lacks knowledge and remains unaware that the palm industry significantly contributes to the national economy. This paper aims to explain the process of developing an infographic website to expose the palm industry to young learners. The topics are traditionally presented using textbooks, but it is essential to incorporate information delivery methods in line with technological developments and interactive aspects to cater to today's Generation Z. An infographic website has been developed to introduce the palm industry to the younger generation, serving as a platform for information delivery and exposure. The website development process follows the Agile model, encompassing planning, analysis, design and development, testing, and deployment phases. Based on end-user testing involving 81 high school students who completed questionnaires, the three usability test criteria yielded an average score of 4.82 for web usability, 4.72 for information quality, and 4.82 for interface quality. The results of the students' feedback were positive, indicating that the infographic offered more detailed information, and the use of animation and posters provided a clearer depiction of palm industry-related information. In conclusion, an infographic website introducing the palm industry to the younger generation proves to be a suitable alternative for their initial exposure, garnering positive responses from this target group.

Technology is an indispensable part of our daily lives nowadays and it has a huge impact on educational fields. The case is valid for English language education in which language teachers teach digital natives with a variety of developing technological tools, software, and aids. Visual aids are also transforming with the developing technology and infographics are one of the technological tools which have been developed by them in recent years. Grammar teaching with traditional teaching materials does not appeal to language learners anymore and it requires innovation as well. For this purpose, current research aims to investigate infographics’ effectiveness and utilization to teach grammar topics. The research was designed as experimental research. Pre-test, treatment, and post-test were administered to the experimental group while the control group traditionally received instruction. At the end of the post-test administration, an interview with five open-ended questions was administered to collect qualitative data. Results of the study show that infographics are effective technological tools to develop language learners’ grammatical knowledge. Moreover. Students have positive perceptions of using these technological visual aids to teach grammar topics.

The study analyzed environmental news content in Leadership and The Punch newspapers from May 1, 2019, to July 31, 2020. The study aimed to determine the images used in news reporting about the environment based on the salient features they embody in the news. The findings revealed 151 articles about the environment while 117 contained images, split between Leadership (52) and The Punch (65) newspapers, indicating their prominence in environmental reporting. While some of the utilized images in the news reports captured the impact on the environment (air, land, and water) and its inhabitants, pictures of politicians were the most featured ones. The information/awareness theme was dominant, demonstrating a development communication perspective. The study also established a notable use of the “Health” theme, implying a connection between health and the environment, predominantly because of COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic was an unprecedented threat to global health. During times of public health crises, governments and healthcare practitioners must effectively communicate preventive guidelines to the public to reduce viral transmission. Public compliance with recommended health behaviours is essential to the success of the overall pandemic response. This online experiment investigated the persuasiveness of visual message format on COVID-19 handwashing guidelines on people's behavioural intentions. A total of 350 participants, recruited through Amazon's MTurk, were randomly assigned to one of three information format conditions: text, infographic, or video. Results indicated that perceived severity, benefits, self-efficacy, cues to action, and perceived barriers significantly predicted people's intentions to comply with suggested preventive guidelines. There were no significant differences between the three information formats, in terms of behavioural intentions. These results have consequences for identifying and implementing public health strategies for a global health crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic to achieve higher citizen engagement, and for understanding future emerging infectious disease preparedness. We mobilize in this article theoretical notions of relevance and semiotic representation registers to observe distortions in the presentation of statistics in infographics. So, we analyzed three infographics published on the section Beste Bedingungen für deine Partnersuche (The best conditions for your partner search) of the Parship platform homepage--a European agency in the online dating and relationship segment--dedicated to the proportion of women and men, the application's success rate, and the academic quota of their users. We conclude that the agency suggests fallacious conclusions from supposedly accurate statistics to increase its performance by manipulating the scale of the dependent variable. Designcommunication provides a highly flexible framework and a sound methodological base beyond the familiar. Designcommunication, in other words, creating a connection as designing, is an approach that uses a holistic triple relation framework of opposing dimensions: material-immaterial, permanent-variable and survival-subsistence-development relations. This framework of relations is available and possibly applicable to anyone regardless of level and area of education. Introducing such a design approach to education opens new horizons of creative cooperation, as designcommunication facilitates the development of creativity, collaboration and communication as increasingly valued soft skills. Therefore, this article presents values of using infographics for promoting Patum's culture and tourism in Phrao District, Chiang Mai, Thailand as cultural learning resources and tourist attractions. Employing a research and development approach, this study utilized three distinct instruments: (1) an interview form engaging 40 locals to uncover insights on promoting Patum village, (2) an assessment form evaluated by three arts and design experts, and (3) questionnaires distributed to 92 participants to gauge perceptions and satisfaction. The findings showcased the high quality and appropriateness of the eight infographics. Audiences derived six key values, including acquiring knowledge, fostering the promotion of Patum's culture, festivals, religions and beliefs, deriving aesthetic enjoyment, encouraging cultural tourism, contributing to the education sector, and enhancing comprehension of Patum's history. Participants expressed high satisfaction (x=4.46) with the infographic use. The developed infographics are usable and valuable information to help audiences recognize Patum cultural learning resources and tourist destinations. They might be further tailored to the recognition of Patum village in the near future, affecting the area's development by increasing local people's incomes through cultural learning resources and tourism activities. As the demand for online education continues to rise, the digital divide has emerged as a significant challenge in the effective teaching of Geography in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. This paper explores the various dimensions of the digital divide in geography education and presents innovative strategies to address these disparities. Focusing on access to devices, internet connectivity, and digital literacy, the study investigates the impact of the digital divide on students' engagement and learning outcomes. The research paper employs a mixed-methods approach, incorporating surveys, interviews, and case studies to gather insights from both educators and students. The findings highlight the critical importance of providing equitable access to digital resources in geography education. The paper outlines initiatives such as device loan programs, collaborations with internet service providers for affordable connectivity, and targeted digital literacy training to empower students from diverse backgrounds. This article focuses on exploring visual strategies in data journalism and presents the main findings of a research based on interviews with journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean. Data journalism, a branch of investigative journalism, utilizes digital technologies to gather, process, and analyze large volumes of data with the aim of producing news and information. A distinctive feature of this practice is the inclusion of visual representations that not only appeal aesthetically but also facilitate public access, comprehension, and interpretation of data. This study aims to contribute to the development of the professional and academic field related to data journalism and its visual dimensions by exploring how these strategies can be used more effectively to communicate complex information to broader audiences. There has been a call to amplify the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and expand its reach by engaging with audiences outside the academy. In this paper, we share our journey in crossing disciplinary boundaries and creating a SoTL-informed infographic for public consumption. As the field of SoTL continues to evolve, infographics hold tremendous potential to communicate SoTL to various stakeholders, including educators, students, administrators, policymakers, and the public. We outline best practices in infographic development and the potential of infographics as a tool for taking SoTL public, emphasizing their visual appeal and effectiveness in conveying complex information. We conclude by discussing the implications of using infographics to advance SoTL communication. The efforts of our group serve as a valuable example of how infographics can be used to bring SoTL knowledge out of academia and into the public domain.

The need for a serious theoretical understanding of dynamically developing types of visual media content, which include interactive infographics has determined the relevance of the research. Medical students must structure, present and remember the algorithm for questioning the patient. The creation of such texts provides favorable conditions for the implementation of the principles of visibility and communication. One of the practical methods of such a multimedia text can be an educational and methodological cluster on the topic «Angina pectoris», designed to train foreign students of medical universities, which helps to form and develop the necessary skills and competencies of future medical students. The problem of the research is to substantiate the interactive map “Patient Enquiry” as a method of teaching medical students.The purpose of the research is to create interactive infographics aimed at systematizing and consolidating the knowledge of medical students in the «Patient Enquiry» section.The research methods. The article describes practical experience of creating interactive infographics of the «Patient Enquiry» section (on the example of Angina pectoris) for 2d and 3d year medical students.The research results. The first information block is a list of information requested by a doctor from a patient. Block II is a cluster of lexical and grammatical information materials. Block III includes interrogative constructions for each thematic block and options for the patient’s answers.Key findings. The dominance of visual information has a meaningful and structural impact on both the educational sphere and psychology of a student. A doctor with communication technologies is able to create an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect that is comfortable for a patient, to solve his professional task - to effectively diagnose the disease. The result of teaching the language of the specialty should be stable knowledge, skills and communication skills in the educational, scientific and professional fields with further access to a doctor’s professional speech.

Consumers typically exhibit loyalty unless swayed by decisions rooted in rational choice theory, encompassing preferences, information, costs, and gains. Convincing newness-oriented consumers to shift beliefs and embrace 'like new' products, especially those drawn to novelty, is difficult. While consumer orientation might seem tied to purchase intention, this study delves into the potential of disruptive information to encourage consumers to revise their perceptions of remanufactured products that may have previously escaped their consideration. Doing so aims to enhance consumers' openness to embracing a circular economy. The research was conducted with a sample size of 1200 Japanese consumers. Remanufactured batteries were used as an illustrative example. The findings suggest that educating consumers through infographics could increase the acceptance of remanufactured batteries. We observed that when infographic information and consumer orientation work together, they produce a synergy effect, resulting in more impact than expected if they were considered separately. This approach could influence purchasing decisions and promote sustainability by emphasizing the economic and environmental benefits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
