Skyline matching is a technique for absolute localisation framed in the category of autonomous long-range exploration. Absolute localisation becomes crucial for planetary exploration to recalibrate position during long traverses or to estimate position with no a-priori information. In this project, a skyline matching algorithm is proposed, implemented and evaluated using real acquisitions and simulated data. The function is based on comparing the skyline extracted from rover images and orbital data. The results are promising but intensive testing on more real data is needed to further characterize the algorithm.

In the recent decades, the importance of software on space missions has notably increased, reflecting the need to integrate advanced on-board functionalities. With multicore processors being lately introduced to host critical high-performance applications, the complexity to validate software has significantly raised with respect to single core architectures. While there has been a big step forward in avionics after the publication of the CAST-32A paper, the ECSS-E-ST-40C software engineering standard used by the European Space Agency (ESA) is still not providing validation support for multicore processors. Hence, it is expected that standardising guidelines to develop software on such platforms will become a recurring topic in the industry to match the demands of future space exploration missions.

We are living today the so called "Digital Revolution" that started 50 years ago. Younger generations are forcing the transportation industry to move towards social, connected, environment-friendly, assisted means of transport. The intelligent, fully-digitized autonomous vehicle is an evolutionary process that starts right into the connected vehicle. But such complex system is becoming more and more vulnerable to external cyber attacks as it increases its connectivity capabilities. However, the Groupe Renault, the world's leading French vehicle-manufacturer, is ready to confront these challenges. This project focuses on the design, implementation and automation of a variety of test cases aiming to partially validate the embedded software running on the IVC, the on-board modem that provides Internet accessibility to connected vehicles. Both cybersecurity and performance aspects will be considered, a series of results will be presented and analyzed, and some relevant conclusions will be eventually drawn. This project is part of the Dual Degree Program arranged between the UPC-ETSETB --based in Barcelona and specialized in Telecommunications, and ISAE-SUPAERO --based in Toulouse and specialized in Aeronautics and Space, two of the best European Engineering Schools. It was carried out at Renault Software Labs, a fully-owned subsidiary of the Groupe Renault, based in Toulouse, France.

In recent years several studies regarding metamaterials have been carried out. The possibility of reaching new properties further from the ones offered by conventional materials has opened new ways of study. Among the different fields of investigation in which metamaterials and frequency selective surfaces are involved, applying them on fabrics and creating wearable structures is one of the newest, and still few investigation has been done on it since, although its potential applications, it is still difficult to reach good results. For this reason, and in order to prove that this is an important field in which very interesting results can be obtained by means of conventional procedures, in this thesis a FSS based on fabric and conductive thread is designed. To do so, the first step is to optimize the geometry using computer simulations until reaching the desired electromagnetic properties. Once done that, the designed unit cell is applied in a larger surface, which is tested and the obtained results compared to the ones given by the simulation. By doing this, it is proved that, although the final crafted surface is not exactly the same that the designed one because of the imperfections inherent in any construction process the properties reached are almost the same, offering similar levels of absorption and a small shift of frequency. Since the surface tested in this thesis is relatively small, testing bigger surfaces in order to better approximate the infinite extension hypothesis and improve the construction process are the logical steps to follow in order to improve a technology which has already been proved to be useful, possible and within reach.

On the one hand, knowledge of symbol timing and frequency offset is required for demodulation in digital communication systems. On the other hand, capabilities of machine learning in the communications domain have not yet been developed so to be able to have an impact in the actual systems and technologies. The goal is to realize a computationally efficient synchronization algorithm based on Neural Networks (NN). The main attractive of NN is the fact that given a structure which is known to be able to converge, it will give the capability to be easily implemented and trained on the concrete type of conditions given in each environment so that it will lead to the best estimator for each case. Also, despite the possibility of designing your own activation functions has already been exploded, it is important that the NN structure to be found is made of Dense feedforward hidden layers with the usual activation functions found on Keras library (those being for instance Linear, Relu, Sigmoid, etc)., Por un lado, el conocimiento del tiempo del símbolo y el desplazamiento de frecuencia es necesario para la demodulación en los sistemas de comunicación digital. Ce document inclut la description de toutes les activités que j'ai réalisées lors de mon stage de fin d'études chez Airbus au domaine EVO comme Ingénieur en Gestion Projet R&T et Innovation au Flight and Integration Test Center (EV). La mission du Program Manager R&T et Innovation au sein d'EV nécessite d'aligner le budget destiné a la recherche dans le centre avec les besoins techniques des différents projets d'innovation et de recherche qui s'y réalisent. Une des complexités de la mission consiste a maintenir cet alignement. Cette complexité est accentuée par la taille de l'organisation (présente sur quatre pays) et la variabilité tout au long de l'année du budget de la recherche. Les défis a relever consistent a maitriser la variation budgétaire de la recherche, réduire le temps de cycle et contróler l'impact des évolutions des projets sur les activités des autres projets. Les objectifs de ma mission ont été : analyser la situation, trouver un plan d'action, proposer différentes solutions et développer la solution choisie jusqu'a son application. La solution choisie a été le développement d'un logiciel qui automatise une partie de l'activité du Program Manager. Apres de nombreux tests, le logiciel est capable de réduire le temps d'analyse et d'augmenter l'efficacité avec une détection facilitée des écarts financiers. Il inclut un environnement ergonomique et facile a utiliser ainsi que l'utilisation d'une nouvelle technologie qui s'aligne avec la stratégie de l'entreprise. Les résultats ont été un succes pour EV et d'autres centres ont déja montré leur intéret pour l'outil. Ceci ouvre un éventail de débouchés pour les centres ayant difficultés similaires au suivi financier. Dans les mois a venir, il pourrait etre envisagé d'adapter ce logiciel aux besoins d'autres secteurs., Outgoing

The tool MOST (Modelling of SpaceWire Network) is an open source tool for satellite networks simulations developed by Thales Alenia Space based on the simulator NS3. The goal of this work is to extend the functionalities with the programming of a new module for the SpaceFiber standard., This work presents the implementation of the SpaceFibre protocol for the network simulator MOST NS-3. On board data networks interconnect satellite's modules with mixed requirements on time of deliver delay and jitter. For example, the same link on a network can be shared to retrieve payload telemetry and to receive satellite attitude sensors telemetry. While payload telemetry can usually wait and support some level of delay, attitude sensors telemetry must arrive within an strict window of time. Several protocols try to solve this problematic. One of them is SpaceFibre, an evolution of SpaceWire that introduces Quality of Service at data link layer by using virtual channels (VC). Virtual channels compete to access the link based on their priority, bandwidth reservation and scheduling. Despite the capabilities of SpaceFibre, with complex onboard satellite networks a question arises: are the jitter and delay requirements fulfilled? To answer that question a network simulator is needed. MOST on NS-3 is a network simulator developed by Thales Alenia Space that implements SpaceWire and related protocols. The outcome of this work is an implementation of the SpaceFibre protocol for MOST NS-3. The model implements all the procedures that introduces a delay in the transmission of a packet including lane initialization, the time that a packet frame waits in a buffer due to the multiplexing of several virtual channels in the same link, words precedence or frame recovery mechanisms. Several tests are included to validate that the implementation meets the requirements of the SpaceFibre protocol.

The Balloon Experimental Twin Telescope for Infrared Interferometry (BETTII) is a far infrared telescope on a balloon-based platform that will validate the interferometry technique for future space telescopes. It is one of the most complex balloon projects carried out at NASA-GSFC and it requires a lot of different subsystems. The work during this thesis is centered around the coarse control system of the telescope's attitude and the analysis of the data collected during its first flight., El Balloon Experimental Twin Telescope for Infrared Interferometry (BETTII) és un telescopi muntat en un globus que opera en l'infraroig llunyà. Aquest projecte intentarà validar l'aplicació de la interferometria per a futurs telescopis espacials. BETTII és un dels projectes en globus més complexes de NASA-GSFC i requereix la integració de diferents subsistemes. El treball durant aquesta tesi es centra en el sistema de control de l'orientació del telescopi i en l'anàlisi de les dades recollides durant el seu primer vol.

This project took place within the Airbus EVAIS (Simulator Operations and Support) department in Toulouse (Airbus Saint Martin site). Beginning the 30th March 2015, the project had a total duration of 6 months. It was supervised by David Barbara and Guillaume Cotin, both of them simulator managers from the A350 program. Airbus EVAIS department is charged with assuring simulator operation and efficiency. This task requires real-time problem solving and has strict deadlines for weekly simulator planning. Regardless of the complexity, the tools of which they disposed were often over simplistic. This led to inefficiencies, mostly in terms of unnecessary time consumption. This internship was an attempt to address this problem. Its objective was therefore to improve simulator planning efficiency and includes the development of an intelligent tool for optimised scheduling. Its structure was inspired in the Lean-Six Sigma approach and the DMAIC project methodology. Figure 1 is a visual representation of this framework: The first stage of this project was to understand the user’s needs and to define goals that were consistent with the department’s strategy. It was therefore essential to start by getting to know the company, the simulator operations departments and the tasks that they were conducting. El proyecto se basa en un análisis sobre la tecnología AVB (Audio/Video Bridging) para ser capaces de caracterizar el delay máximo y así el comportamiento en situaciones crítica, The presented work is oriented on explain the experience of the investigation performed on the embedded systems field. Concretely, the investigation is composed of two standards: ARINC 664 and ARINC 653. The investigation about the standard ARINC 664 Part 7, called Avionic Full Duplex Switched Ethernet (AFDX), is oriented on the improvement of the bandwidth utilization using an active control system. AFDX is a technology that allows guaranteeing an expected behaviour, an important characteristic for avionic real-time applications. In order to reinforce the quality of service, the standard define the concept of Virtual Link (VL) which determine a unidirectional logic point-to-point connection. The VL transmission is limited by the Bandwidth Allocation Gap (BAG), which indicates the minimum period of time between two consecutives frames. Considering that only specific values of BAG are accepted while the application period is arbitrary, the utilization of the bandwidth becomes small. In addition, owing to the asynchronous nature of AFDX protocol, the jitter degrades the determinism of the network, which constraints the use of critical applications. Therefore, the research has contribute a feedback system based on active control in order to avoid this problem. Concretely, two control loops have been presented. The first one, called Bandwidth Efficiency Control Loop (BECL), is oriented on maximizing the bandwidth utilization of the VL. The second one, called Jitter Stabilization Control Loop (JSCL), is used in order to stabilize the jotter on a predefined value. The second research subject, which is based on the standard ARINC 653, defines an optimization model to allocate and schedule different tasks which share the same resources inside a system. The utilization of the Integrate Modular Avionic (IMA) architecture is a technologic tendency in the avionic industry, thanks to its capacity for sharing time and space between different tasks. Concretamente, la investigación se ha dividido en dos estándares: ARINC 664 y ARINC 653. Además, debido a que AFDX es un protocolo asíncrono, el jitter degrada el determinismo de la red, cosa que limita las aplicaciones críticas. Transmissor/receiver for ACARS system, Capacity increase in satelite communications systems is nowadays a main concern. In order to increase the spectral efficiency of such systems, a research topic consists in specifying non-orthogonal modulations called faster-than-Nyquist (FTN). By means of this technique, a capacity increase could be obtained at the cost of more complexity at the receiver side. The FTN system design consists in using pulse shaping and equalizing techniques such that a good compromise is obtained between spectal efficiency, level of interference and complexity. Within the frame of Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite broadcast or mobile terminals, complexity becomes the main limiting factor in order to ensure low cost user terminal integration., El aumento de la capacidad de los sistemas de transmisión por satélite se encuentra en el centro de las preocupaciones actuales. Con el objetivo de augmentar la eficacidad espectral de tales sistemas, un tema de estudio consiste en especificar modulaciones no ortogonales llamadas faster-than-Nyquist (FTN). Con el uso de esta técnica, se podria augmentar la capacidad de los sistemas de transmisión a cambio de aumentar la complejidad de los receptores. El diseño de un sistema FTN consiste en determinar una estrategia de filtrado y de ecualización permitiendo un buen compromiso entre eficacidad espectral, nivel de interferencia y complejidad. En el contexto de difusión por satélite Direct-to-Home (DTH) o en el caso de terminales móviles, la limitación de complejidad es fundamental para garantizar la integración a bajo coste en los terminales de usuario., L'augment de la capacitat dels sistemes de transmissió per satèl·lit es troba al centre de les preocupacions actuals. Amb l'objectiu d'augmentar l'eficacitat espectral d'aquests sistemes, un eix de recerca consisteix en especificar modulacions no ortogonals anomenades faster-than-Nyquist (FTN). Utilitzant aquesta tècnica, es podria augmentar la capacitat dels sistemes de transmissió a canvi d'augmentar la complexitat dels receptors. El disseny d'un sistema FTN consisteix en determinar una estratègia de filtratge i d'equalització permetent un bon compromis entre eficacitat espectral, nivell d'interferència i complexitat. En el contexte de difusió per satèl ·lit Direct-to-Home (DTH) o en el cas de terminals mòbils, la limitació de complexitat és fonamental per garantir l'integració a baix cost als terminals d'usuari.

[ANGLÈS] The Balloon Experimental Twin Telescope for Infrared Interferometry (BETTII) is an 8-meter long boom interferometer using a double-Fourier Michelson interferometer and designed to fly on a high-altitude scientific balloon. It aims to provide spatially-resolved spectroscopy in the far-infrared (30-90 um) allowing the identification and separation of closely-spaced astronomical sources, while also providing a low-resolution spectrum for each source. BETTII’s mission will complete our understanding of young stars in clustered star formation regions and the chemical evolution during formation of stars and planetary systems. BETTII provides a high angular resolution which will allow us to gather data on spectral energy distributions of individual deeply embedded protostars forming in dense clusters and distinguish between multiple embedded sources. This master thesis has focused specially on the conception of the hardware and software structure of the Telemetry System that will be used for BETTII. Thus, the main objectives have been to implement the algorithms to detect the frames, to program the different devices involved on the system and display the information in real time., [CASTELLÀ] El Balloon Experimental Twin Telescope for Infrared Interferometry (BETTII) es un una estructura de 8 metros de longitud que contiene un interferómetro de Michelson en doble transformada de Fourier y que está diseñado para volar en un globo de helio de largo alcance. Su objetivo es ofrecer espectroscopía de alta resolución espacial en la banda del infrarojo lejano (30-90 um) permitiendo la identificación y separación de fuentes astronómicas muy juntas y al mismo tiempo proporcionar un espectro de baja resolución para cada fuente. La misión de BETTII servirá per completar nuestro conocimiento sobre las estrellas jóvenes así como los procesos químicos que tienen lugar durante la formación de las estrellas y los sistemas planetarios. BETTII ofrece una alta alta resolución, lo que nos permitirá recolectar datos sobre la distribución espectral de energía de protoestrellas formándose en densos clústeres. El presente proyecto fin de carrera se ha centrado esencialmente en la concepción de la estructura hardware y del software del sistema de Telemetría de BETTII. La missió de BETTII servira per completar el nostre coneixement sobre les estrelles joves en els clusters aixi com els procesos químics que tenen lloc durant la formació de les estrelles i els sistemes planetaris. BETTII ofereix un alta resolució el que ens permetrà recolectar dades sobre la distribució espectral d’energia de protoestrelles formant-se en densos clusters. Aquest projecte fi de carrera s’ha centrat essencialment en la concepció de l’estructura hardware i del software del sistema de Telemetria de BETTII. Els principals objectius han estat l’implementació dels algoritmes per detectar les trames de dades, programar els diferents dispositius que intervenen en el sistema i mostrar les dades rebudes des del telescopi en temps real.

[ANGLÈS] This thesis presents the issues and solutions of deploying virtual private networks (VPNs) over satellite systems. Specifically, this thesis focus on the aeronautical communications scenario. The work was performed in Munich under the framework of a project of the European Space Agency., [CASTELLÀ] Esta tesis explica los problemas y soluciones cuando se utiliza una red privada virtual (VPN) con enlaces de satélite de banda ancha. En concreto, el análisis se efectúa para el caso de comunicaciones aeronáuticas. Esta tesis fue realizada en Munich en el marco de trabajo de un proyecto de la Agencia Espacial Europea., [CATALÀ] Aquesta tesi explica els problemes i solucions davant l'ús de xarxes privades virtuals (VPN) amb enllaços de satèl·lit de banda ampla. En concret, l'anàlisi s'efectua a fons pel cas de comunicacions aeronàutiques. La tesi va ser realitzada a Munic en el marc de treball d'un projecte de l'Agència Espacial Europea.

Projecte realitzat en el marc d’un programa de mobilitat amb l'École Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace i l'empresa Astrium., [ANGLÈS] The first part of the document is a review of the main characteristics of surrogate models and a special attention has been given to Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) in order to develop these models. Their architecture, the input and output spaces dimension, the learning process or their generalisation capabilities are some of these characteristics. In the second part of the document we try to figure out how to apply these techniques in the context of an Earth observation mission. In a first application we are able to reduce the computational cost of the model employed on the ground during the planification of the mission. A second application is developped to be implemented onboard in order to recompute the manoeuvres with a reduced computational cost. It is shown that this could increment the satellite’s reactivity and pointing accuracy., [CASTELLÀ] La primera parte del documento es un análisis de las principales características de los modelos de substitución con una especial atención a las Redes Neuronales Artificiales. Le marché de l’aéronautique a suivi une forte croissance ces dernières années. De ce fait, les avionneurs et donc les motoristes ont du monter en capacité de production mais aussi de développement. Ainsi, les délais de leurs programmes se sont accourcis pour faire face à cette forte demande. De plus, ces derniers temps, le prix du pétrole n’a cessé d’augmenter, devenant ainsi un des coûts d’exploitation les plus importants pour les compagnies aériennes. Dans ce contexte, Snecma cherche à innover et améliorer constamment ses procédures et méthodes. En tant que motoriste, l’enjeu est de concevoir des moteurs chaque fois plus performants et avec une consommation de carburant moindre. Le rôle de la ventilation des systèmes d’air secondaire dont les compartiments nacelles est ici clé, car elle doit permettre d’assurer le bon fonctionnement du moteur sans dégrader ses performances. Afin d’atteindre les objectifs fixés, les phénomènes physiques de la ventilation et leurs implications doivent être étudiés à l’aide d’outils de simulation et des campagnes d’essais. Dans le cadre de ces améliorations, Snecma a proposé un sujet de stage portant sur le développement d’une méthode pour les études de ventilation de compartiment nacelle d’une turbomachine et l’étude de sa faisabilité sous AMESim. L’encadrement industriel e été assuré par M. Federici, ingénieur responsable du pôle aérothermique d’ensemble et aérodynamique externe. Le présent rapport synthétise les travaux réalisés durant les différentes phases de ce stage. En premier lieu, on a étudié la physique représentative de l’aérothermique des compartiments nacelles et l’outil utilisé actuellement pour la simuler –jugé peu satisfaisant–. Une recherche bibliographique sur des problématiques similaires a été entreprise simultanément, afin de lister un panorama de différents choix de modélisation envisageables. Projecte desenvolupat a l'empresa FICOSA International, English: this project presents the research done in order to improve the communications through the CAN Bus used in the automotive industry. It presents a complete study of the CAN Bus characteristics as well as the protocols that turn in at the higher layers of the ISO communication standard (ISO 15765-2 i ISO 15765-3) in order to assure a communication without errors. This study has been used in order to improve the communications in a very specific project called TCU. A TCU is what one should name a Telematic Control Unit. A TCU is basicly an ECU (Electronic Control Unit), meaning, it is an electronic device that controls the communications between the automobile and its constructor using the GSM or WiFi wireless networks. This electronic unit main porpuse is to assure the communication in case of accident of the position and situation of the vehicle automatically to the first emergency response teams using GPS positioning. The work developed has consisted in the design of a communications platform using the CAN Bus that would use all the capacity available. In order to do that one has got to study rigorously the communications processes of the TCU project as well as all the characteristics and limitation of the ?CANica? tool. This programming tool has been specially developed in order to be used on the CAN and LIN busses. The platform has been developed using this programming tool. The results have been remarkable seeing that time spent in file processing and communication rate has improved notably. Lets only point out that the reprogramming process has been reduced from 10 minutes to 1 minute thanks to the platform developed. And finally this platform will be used and adapted for the next generations of TCUs., Castellano: este proyecto presenta la investigación para mejorar el protocolo de comunicaciones a través del Bus CAN de comunicaciones utilizado en la industria de la automoción. Presenta un estudio completo de las características del Bus CAN asi como también de los protocolos de alto nivel que se utilizan en concordancia con este bus para asegurar la correcta comunicación a nivel de aplicación ISO (ISO 15765-2 i ISO 15765-3). Este estudio ha sido utilizado para mejorar las comunicaciones de un proyecto en concreto llamado TCU. Una TCU es lo que se refiere a una ?Telematic Control Unit?. Una TCU es básicamente una ECU (Electronic Control Unit), que quiere decir, un dispositivo electrónico que controla las comunicaciones entre un vehículo y su fabricante a través de las redes sin hilos como GSM o WiFi. Esta unidad electrónica entre otras funciones tiene la de asegurar la comunicación de la posición y situación del vehículo en caso de accidente a los servicios de emergencia de forma automática utilizando también la red GPS. El trabajo desarrollado ha consistido en diseñar una plataforma de comunicaciones vía CAN que aproveche al máximo las capacidades del Bus. Para ello se ha tenido que profundizar en las comunicaciones del proyecto TCU asi como también las características y límites del útil ?CANica?. El útil de programación ?CANica? ha sido especialmente desarrollado para entornos que utilicen los buses CAN o LIN. Ha sido pues a través de este útil que la plataforma de comunicaciones ha sido desarrollada. Los resultados de la plataforma final son buenos, ya que la mejora en el tiempo de tratamiento de la información y la cadencia de transmisión de datos ha sido notable. Una dato relevante es que se ha reducido el tiempo de reprogramación de 10 a 1 minuto gracias al tratamiento previo a la reprogramación de la TCU de los ficheros en cuestión. Además los algoritmos desarrollados serán utilizados en las próximas generaciones de TCU., Català: aquest projecte presenta la recerca per la millora del protocol de comunicacions a través del bus CAN de comunicacions utilitzat en l'industria de l'automoció. Presenta un estudi complet de les característiques del Bus CAN així com també els protocols d'alt nivell que s'utilitzen en aquest bus per assegurar la correcte comunicació a nivell ISO d'aplicació (ISO 15765-2 i ISO 15765-3). Per això s'ha hagut de dur a terme un estudi profund de les comunicacions del projecte TCU així com també les característiques i límits de l'eina "CANica". L'eina "CANica" és un útil de programació especialment desenvolupat per els entorns que utilitzen els busos CAN o LIN. Ha estat doncs a través d'aquesta eina que la plataforma de comunicacions ha estat desenvolupada. Els resultats de la plataforma final són bons, ja que la millora en el temps de tractament de la informació i la cadència de transmissió de dades ha estat notable. Una dada rellevant és que s'ha reduït el temps de reprogramació de 10 minuts a 1 minut gràcies al tractament previ a la reprogramació de la TCU dels fitxers en qüestió. A més a més els algoritmes desenvolupats seran utilitzats en les pròximes generacions de TCU.

The new global economic challenges push airlines to adapt their policies to it. They are constantly looking for reductions in operating costs, either in terms fuel consumption, maitenance, or environmental taxes. Therefore, they impose constraints on their manufacturers so that they provide lighter aircraft, more silent, and with more optimized aerodynamics. With current aircraft con gurations, manufacturers realize that they can not satisfy the required speci cations.Many researches are currently being conducted to nd new aircraft con gurations that could respond to these speci cations. The ying wing is one of the possibilities within the research panorama. The general idea of the ying wing is the following: in order to increase its performance, all parts not involved in the lift generation are removed, as the fuselage and n. The fact that the whole aircraft participates in lift generation would, a priori, decrease the drag. Speci cally, while a conventional aircraft has a relatively heterogeneous distribution of large masses(the fuselage containing the entire payload), the ying wing provides a more homogeneous distribution. Indeed, as fuel and cargo are distributed over a greater lateral surface, shear loads are less important and contributes to lighten the aircraft. Finally, due to the width of the central body, the ying wing has the ability to mask the noise made by the engines, reducing noise impact to airport and its vicinity. Therefore, it will lead not only to reduction of taxes but also to increase authorized operating time of their eet. That is why in recent years, Airbus has increased its experience in the eld of ying wings participating in European projects VELA and NACRE. Since 2007, new projects are developing: the ying wing project New Long Range (NLR) and the ying wing New Short Range (NSR). International audience, The study of a fractional Burgers equation arising in nonlinear acoustics is presented. The motivation comes from an elementary model of shock waves in brass wind instruments, that proves useful in musical acoustics. Such a model results from the coupling of a conservative nonlinear system with a dissipative term; here the dissipation is represented by a fractional derivative in time, for which equivalent diffusive representations can be efficiently used: in a first part, strong solutions, weak solutions and energy balances are examined. In a second part, ad hoc numerical schemes are derived, in order to capture all the physical phenomena at stake in the original model, and to get rid, as far as possible, of the spurious numerical effects which are highly undesirable: to this end, conservative schemes for hyperbolic conservation laws, diffusive realizations for the fractional derivatives and integrals, and splitting of the two are being used.

International audience, In order to characterise the ultimate error regime of Digital Image Correlation (DIC) algorithms, sets of virtual transformed images are often generated from a reference image by in-plane sub-pixel translations. This leads to the determination of the well-known S-shaped systematic error curves and their corresponding random error curves. It is reported in this collaborative work that the a priori choices used to numerically shift images (grey level interpolation, direct or reverse transformation between images) modify DIC results and may lead to biased conclusions in terms of DIC errors.

International audience, This paper deals with the pressure dependence of plasticity in metallic glasses below glass transition. Recent results indicate that some metallic glasses have such a dependence and that it increases with temperature (Keryvin et al., Phil. Mag., 88, 1773, 2008). We investigate the possibility that such a situation could be a common feature for all metallic glasses by performing a literature review. Results indicate that it is not straightforward to draw decisive conclusions.
