In recent years, developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and MachineLearning (ML) technologies have had profound effects on all sectors. The logistics industry has also become a sector where these technologies are being used to a significant extent. The emergence of intelligent logistics systems offers several opportunities for the advancement of this sector by facilitating digital transformation in supply chain and logistics. The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive review of recent studies examining the use of AI and ML systems in the logistics industry. In this study, which is designed as a systematic study, firstly, based on the existing literature, the basic concepts, trends, researchers and countries working on AI and ML systems in the logistics sector are examined by bibliometric analysis method. Then, information about the prominent AI and ML systems in logistics is given. Lojistik yönetimi, özellikle ticaretin küreselleşmesi ve endüstriyel döngülerin hızlandığı bir ekonomik ortamda, ekonomik rekabet gücü, zaman ve hizmet kalitesi açısından hedeflerine ulaşmak isteyen herhangi bir şirket için stratejik bir konu haline gelmiştir. Bu gelişmeler, teknolojik alt yapıların gelişmesi, ticaret akışlarının artan karmaşıklığı, artan rekabet ve sürdürülebilir kalkınmadan kaynaklanan ekonomi eğilimlerden etkilenmiştir. Bu nedenle lojistik ağların tasarımı ve planlaması hem işletmeler hem de araştırmacılar için giderek daha önemli hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada, gönderilerin üreticilerin bulunduğu şehirlerden perakendecilerin bulunduğu şehirlere, doğrudan veya yerleri model tarafından belirlenecek olan bir dizi dağıtım merkezi aracılığıyla dağıtıldığı bir deterministik model oluşturulmuştur. Her varış şehrine sadece bir dağıtım merkezi atanırken, her dağıtım merkezi birden fazla varış şehrine hizmet verebilmektedir. Model, dağıtım merkezlerinin nereye yerleştirileceğine karar vermekte ve lojistik işletme maliyetini en aza indirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Model, her bir dağıtım merkezi için kapasite kısıtını dikkate almaktadır. Problemi çözmek için genetik algoritma tabanlı bir yöntem geliştirilmiştir. Genetik algoritma modeli Python dili ile kodlanmıştır. Genetik algoritma çözümü, Genel Cebirsel Modelleme Sistemi (GAMS) tarafından elde edilen optimal çözümle karşılaştırılarak küçük boyutlu problemler üzerinde doğrulanmıştır.

In the contemporary business environment, a significant challenge is the talent shortage, particularly prevalent in logistics and supply chain management, where there is a marked deficiency of employees with the necessary skills for fundamental operations. Despite the strategic importance of women in this sector, the work environments in this field largely continue to maintain a male-dominated structure. The participation of women is crucial for developing innovative and effective supply chain solutions, yet the scarcity of experienced professionals not only compromises operational efficiency but also limits the development of new talent. In the existing literature, there are a limited number of academic studies concerning the role and importance of women in supply chain management. The aim of this study is to examine the research conducted on gender awareness in the supply chain industry through a systematic literature review and to present the current situation in this field. Employing MAXQDA for thematic analysis, this research identifies sectoral trends and thoroughly examines the content of the studies. The findings highlight the strategic significance of women in supply chain management, emphasizing that the lack of experienced female professionals poses considerable obstacles to both operational effectiveness and the cultivation of new talent. Consequently, this study advocates for increased research on gender diversity in the sector, suggesting that such efforts could substantially enhance supply chain management practices. In the business sectors, which developing, growing, and highly competitive, instead of centralized administration, sharing the management can be a proper approach, in other word adopting the management that is not centralized may be the best way. Thus, surviving of the companies relate to determining the organizational responsibilities in their organizational structures in the modern and dynamic business environment. Therefore, some needs such as the existence of responsibility centers have become more important as well as the right allocation of resources, providing effective planning and controlling the income and expense of the company, and in order to improve the total performance of the company. Early on, the logistics sector, which were limited with transportation and warehousing management, some logistical activities such as purchasing management, production, stock planning, handling management, packing, order processing has become included into the scope of logistics depending on ever-increasing competition, which is one of the important results of the globalization process. In this study, as well as the actors, which exist in the logistics sectors, flows that realize in the logistics processes are defined. Afterward, importance and functions of the responsibility centers where should be existed in the structure of 3 party logistics (3PL) service providers are discussed. Customers have started to want the more customized products and services recently. therefore, logistics applications should be able to respond to customer's every requirement at the highest level. On the other hand, it should be done with lowest costs that are possible. Thus, optimization applications that utilized by logistics activities need to the systems which can create excellent solutions and can continuously update these solutions. Within this scope, it can be seen that there is a correlation between creating effective solutions for the problems and speed, effectivity, and productivity of these systems. Some strong evidence shows that these technologies and systems will have become capable to conduct these logistics operations. Consequently, almost all of them will have been autonomous systems in the near future. Logistics management has become a critical part of any company that wants to achieve its goals through capacity, time, and service quality in a financial environment. These improvements have been influenced by economic tendencies stemming from the development of technological infrastructures and an increasing complication of commerce flows. Therefore, the design of logistics networks has become an important issue for both businesses and researchers. In this study, a deterministic model is created in which the shipments are distributed from origin cities to destination cities, either directly or through distribution centers whose locations will be determined by the model. While only one distribution center is assigned to each destination city, each distribution center can serve more than one destination city. The model decides where distribution centers will be located and aims to minimize logistics operating cost. The model considers capacity constraint for each distribution center. A genetic algorithmbased method has been developed to solve the problem. The genetic algorithm model is coded in Python. The genetic algorithm solution is validated on small-sized problems by comparing it with optimal solution obtained by the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this research is to examine the relationships between logistics performance, corporate governance and global competitiveness and the mediating role of corporate governance in the relationship between logistics performance and global competitiveness. For this purpose, secondary data have been used 112 countries for the years 2014, 2016 and 2018 through the Logistics Performance Index (LPI), Corporate Governance Indicators (WGI) and Global Competitiveness Index (GCI). Simple and multiple linear regression analyzes were used among the variables in accordance with the data collected. Bootstrap (resampling) technique with PROCESS Macro 4.0 was examined the mediation role of corporate governance between logistics performance and global competitiveness. The investigation revealed that corporate governance mediates the relationship between logistical performance and global competitiveness and has a considerable impact on both of these factors. The analysis's conclusions were evaluated at the level of the countries' development groups as well as from a macro perspective. The findings of this study emphasise that decision makers, leaders, and managers in countries should place more emphasis on improving the quality of policies and regulations, particularly by increasing transparency in governance, improving bureaucratic regulations for logistics businesses, and ensuring transparency of customs procedures. Conquered by the Ottoman Empire in 1388; Ruse had developed and become an important city in the course of time. Ruse whose population structure changed in the 16th century and which became a Turkish-Islamic city had become the center of the Danube fleet as from the beginning of the 17th century just like in the Roman period. Ruse fell under a threat due to the wars of 1768-1774 and 1787-1792 in the second half of the 18th century. During this period, the city was fortified all around. Deep and dry ditches reinforced with rocks were excavated, shields and bastions were built. In 1773, the Russians were overwhelmed just outside of Ruse. This study examines the function of the District of Ruse in army kitchen, means of transportation, supply of soldiers, transportation of materials and soldiers during the wars that took place between 1768 and 1774. As Ruse was one of the main centers of grain supply, the grains were directly procured from Ruse and the grains collected from other districts nearby were also transported from here. During the wars; the crews, bouncer soldiers, masters and laborers employed in building bridges, a part of horses which were used to pull shallop-style small naval ships with open top and,oxcarts and gun carriages were procured from Ruse. In addition, the District of Ruse financially supported the wars. Cash was collected at certain intervals in exchange for imdâd-ı seferiyye, avârız and nüzül taxes. In this work, archival records in various catalogues in the Ottoman Archives of the Presidency are used as the main source. These records involve remarkable information about the contribution of the District of Ruse in army kitchen, means of transportation and supply of soldiers and the function of Ruse Pier in the transportation of materials and soldiers. The biggest actor that determines the rules of the game: "Consumer". It can be clearly seen that no good or service product offered without considering customer requests and expectations has a chance to hold on to the market. In the modern communication world, where consumers share their experiences easily, the sloganized of the classical marketing approach, "I sell what I produce", is no longer as popular as it used to be. When the customer experiences of internet shopping, the demand level of which has increased at a remarkable rate with the pandemic, are examined, it is seen that the comments regarding the positive or negative experiences with the suppliers are at a significant level, as well as the technical features and qualities of the products. This study aims to make a qualitative content analysis and to create a roadmap for businesses operating in the relevant fields, based on consumer comments on the "Logistics service quality" components, which is defined as an important dimension of the concept of quality, which we can express as the level of meeting customer demands and expectations. The systematic literature research carried out in the study was planned in two stages. In the first stage, the frequency of preference and relations of the keywords used in the studies on the subject of the research in the literature were determined by a bibliometric analysis, and in the next stage, these determined keywords were systematically scanned in all databases. As a result of the analysis, when the encodings in the customer comments are examined; Delivery speed (143), Packaging quality (92) and Supplier reliability (85) criteria are listed respectively. When the conflicting codes are interpreted; it is seen that the codes of Delivery speed and Packaging quality are included 22 times together in the same comment text, Delivery speed and Trouble-free delivery codes are 15 times, and Delivery speed and Supplier reliability codes are 13 times together. Günden güne gelişen ve pazar payını sürekli artıran lojistik sektörü, uluslararası ticaretin ayrılmaz bir parçasıdır. Bu kapsamda etkin bir finansal yönetim, sektörde yer alan işletmelerin, rakiplerine oranla öne çıkmasında önemli bir husustur. Bu çalışmada, Borsa İstanbul’da (BIST) işlem gören lojistik sektörü işletmelerinin finansal etkinliklerinin belirlenmesi ve bunların değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, küresel ölçekte faaliyet gösteren lojistik işletmelerinin finansal performansında etkili olduğu değerlendirilen ve eikon datastream veri tabanından elde edilen 2020 ve 2021 yıllarına ait finansal performans göstergeleri kullanılarak çok kriterli karar verme teknikleri (Entropi tabanlı CODAS) kullanılmıştır. İki farklı yöntemin kullanıldığı çalışma sonucunda; analize konu 10 lojistik işletmesi arasında genel olarak sıralamanın çok değişkenlik göstermediği belirlenmiştir. Böylece her iki yöntemin güvenilir sonuçlar ürettiği anlaşılan çalışma sonuçlarına göre 2020 yılında finansal açıdan güçlü olan ve ilk sıralarda yer alan işletmelerin, 2021 yılında da bu yapılarını korudukları gözlenmiştir. Lojistik sektörü, hizmet sunumu kapsamında ele alınmakta ve doğrudan ürünle ilgili olmamakla birlikte ürün fiyatları üzerinde ve dolayısıyla işletmeler açısından karlılık ve rekabet edebilirlik yönlerine doğrudan etki etmektedir. Çalışmanın, lojistik işletmelerinin etkinlik sıralaması yapılmasında farklı çok kriterli karar verme tekniklerinin bütüncül olarak kullanılması ve iki yıl için karşılaştırmalı bir değerlendirme yapılmış olması bakımından özgünlük taşıdığı değerlendirilmektedir.

The use of multi-compartment vehicles is an efficient solution for distributing different products that cannot be transported in the same compartment. In this study, the vehicle routing problem with time windows is addressed by considering the use of a heterogeneous fleet and multi-compartment vehicles. The variant of the problem discussed in this study is known as the Heterogeneous Fleet Multi-Compartment Vehicle Routing Problem (MCVRPTWHF). In this study, the Variable Neighborhood Search algorithm (VNS) and the Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm (ABCA) have been adapted to solve the problem. Well-known datasets have been adapted to fit the problem structure in order to analyze the performance of the algorithms. Comparative results reveal that the developed algorithms effectively solve the generated datasets. It has been observed that the DKA algorithm has significant numerical superiority compared to YAKA. İnternetin ortaya çıkışı ve iletişim yetenekleri, tüketicilerin kötü deneyimlerini diğer tüketicilerle paylaşmaları için bir dizi şikâyet sitelerinin ortaya çıkmasına neden olmuştur. Bu durum, bir kuruluşun itibarına zarar verebilirken, şikâyetleri etkin bir şekilde ele almak, şikâyet edenleri geri kazanmak ve etkileşimin gözlemcilerini kazanmak için önemli fırsatlar da sunmaktadır. Tüketiciler hizmet hatalarıyla karşılaştıklarında, davranış değiştirme, satıcıya yönelik bir şikâyet, olumsuz ağızdan ağıza iletişim veya hiçbir şey yapmamak gibi çeşitli seçeneklerle de karşı karşıya kalmaktadırlar. Bu seçenekler arasında üçüncü şahıs şikâyet davranışları en az kapsamlı olarak araştırılan konu olmuştur. Bu kritik arızaları azaltmak veya ortadan kaldırmak ve hizmet firmalarının uzun vadeli karlarını korumak için, önleyici faaliyeti mümkün kılmak için ana potansiyel arıza modlarının tanımlanması gerekir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Türkiye’de faaliyet göstermekte olan üç kargo firması (Aras, MNG ve Yurtiçi) ile ilgili çevrimiçi müşteri şikâyetlerini kategorize etmek suretiyle, müşteri şikâyetlerinde ağırlık kazanan faktörleri ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma keşifsel bir çalışma olup, www.sikayetvar.com sitesi üzerinden söz konusu üç kargo işletmesi için yapılmış toplamda 300 adet şikâyet, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak MAXQDA programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Şikâyetlerin tekrar etme sıklıklarına bakıldığında; adrese teslimatın yapılmaması, adreste bulunamama ve personelin tutumları ile ilgili şikâyet ettiği belirlenmiştir.

In this study, virtual and traditional products were compared in terms of logistics. Its purpose is to evaluate the logistics processes of both product types and to reveal their advantages. As a result of the literature review, it has been determined that special modes have been developed in the logistics processes of virtual products and provide faster and lower cost transportation. However, the influence of other factors in the logistics process of virtual goods is still controversial. As a method, source scanning and interpretation method was used. The study shows that the logistics of virtual goods is more cost-effective and advantageous. However, it is emphasized that both types of products may face similar logistical problems and strategic approaches should be adopted. Comparing virtual and traditional products in terms of logistics provides important information for businesses to optimize their logistics strategies. There are differences that need to be taken into account in matters such as storage, stock, transportation, demand and recycling. This study suggests that businesses should consider these factors in order to gain competitive advantage and adapt to consumer expectations. Comparing virtual and traditional products in terms of logistics, quality and customer satisfaction is an issue that attracts the attention of businesses and researchers. The importance of urban cargo transportation has been increasing in recent years due to the rise in e-trade. In cargo delivery, a vehicle deports from a depot and delivers the cargos to the predetermined demand points and turns back to the depot. This distribution process is a classical travelling salesman problem (TSP) and there is an enormous literature regarding TSP. However, the research regarding rural cargo distribution is limited. In this research rural cargo distribution of a company is analysed. Rural cargo distribution process is modelled as a TSP. The solution of the problem is analysed by different heuristic methods. The Ottoman Empire captured the Eastern Anatolian geography as a result of the Battle of Çaldıran during the reign of Selim I. There were constant wars due to the fact that the Iranian side did not give up the lost lands within the scope of the Ottoman-Iranian struggle, which continued with the Ottoman capture of the Azerbaijan region at the end of the sixteenth century. In this process, with the weakening of the Safavid Dynasty in Iran due to internal turmoil, the superiority of the Ottoman Empire's army and war capability made the Ottoman side victorious in the wars. However, in the eighteenth century, the first years of the reign of Mahmut I in the Ottoman Empire passed with the effects of the revolt caused by Patrona Halil. On the Iranian side, Nadir Shah, who put an end to the internal turmoil and removed the Safavid dynasty from the administration, took action in order to dominate the lost lands again. In this process, the preparations of the Ottoman Empire's 1734-1735 Iranian Campaign in the light of the documents in the R52 Rusçuk sharia registry book in the city of Rusçuk were examined. Effective warehouse management has become one of the most important goals of businesses with the development of technology. The realization of these goals will be possible by using the data in the hands of the businesses to extract meaningful information and to use this information in warehouse management. One of the most important functions of warehouse management is product placement. Improper product placements cause time and financial losses for businesses. Scope of work; it is aimed to develop a dynamic product analysis model based on output orders. In the first stage of the study, ideal periods were determined by using the standard deviation technique. In the second stage of the study, the waiting times of the products were calculated with the technique of holding time in stock. In the third stage of the study, the products were ranked according to their stock keeping times. Afterward, the locations divided into Pareto-based Diamond, Gold and Silver regions were matched with the products in the warehouse. In the fourth stage of the study, the Apriori algorithm technique, which is one of the data mining models, is the most accepted in the literature, was used. The association analysis of the data was carried out and the collection bin locations of the products were determined by placing the products that go frequently in the same region side by side. As a result of the study, it is aimed to contribute to the businesses engaged in storage activities and researchers working in this field in determining a model that they will benefit from in the product placement processes. In this study, product tonnage information or product output information, which is frequently encountered in the literature, is not taken as a basis for product analysis, and the stock keeping time and go-with feature of that product are taken as the basis. Milk and dairy products are indispensable products that have an important place for human health and are met with intense customer demand. Logistics and warehousing activities are at the forefront of the processes that need to be considered to meet the increasing demand in this sector and to stay ahead of the competitors. By choosing the optimal warehouse location, customer satisfaction and service quality will be increased, costs will be minimized, and the stock capacity will be determined according to the shelf life of the products. This study aims to establish an intermediate warehouse for the East and Southeast regions by using demand, distance to production facilities, distance to customers, transportation costs, optimum route capacities, and employment criteria. Using real data, the five candidate cities with the highest sales were selected; These five cities were evaluated in terms of six different criteria. The criteria weights were determined by the SWARA (Step-wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis) method, which was formed by expert opinions, and the warehouse location was selected by the WASPAS (Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment) method. Container transportation, which has emerged in recent years and has become an indispensable element of maritime transportation, is the most widely used mode of transportation in today's world foreign trade transportation. In the face of the increasing importance of container transportation, the number of scientific researches is increasing at the same rate. The aim of this research is to make a bibliometric analysis of the postgraduate theses on container transportation, which can be accessed on the website of the National Thesis Center of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey between 1999-2022. At the end of the research it is found that most of them are master theses and written in Turkish. It has been determined that the most postgraduate theses were published in public universities, social sciences institutes and business administration departments in Istanbul and Izmir in 2018. In addition, it has been determined that most of the theses are studied on business, container transportation is used as a keyword, and professor doctors are thesis advisors. In the study, it is aimed to understand the consumer attitude and intention towards the use of smart cabinets, which is included in the last step delivery services. For this purpose, data were obtained by applying a face-to-face questionnaire to 400 university students aged 18 and over studying in Erzurum. SPSS in the analysis of the obtained data. 26.0 package program was used. Normality and correlation analyzes were performed in the study. In the analyzes made, it was concluded that the skewness and kurtosis values were normal and there were positive, linear, significant and strong relationships between each variable. In addition, hypotheses were created to test whether the resource matching theory, which consists of convenience, privacy security and reliability, is the determinant of the attitude and intention to use smart lockers. Regression analysis was performed in line with these hypotheses and it was seen that 8 of the 9 hypotheses proposed were supported and one was rejected (H1b). Looking at the results, it is seen that convenience and reliability affect the attitudes and intentions of the sample consumers towards the use of smart cabinets. In addition, it has been observed that privacy security does not affect the attitude of the sample consumers towards the use of smart cabinets, but affects their intention to use it. In short, it is seen that consumers have positive attitudes and intentions towards the use of smart cabinets, which are not yet common in Turkey, although they have concerns about privacy security.
