Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), as a gasotransmitter, is involved in various pathophysiological processes. Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a major complication of diabetes mellitus (DM), which leads to structural and functional abnormalities of the myocardium and eventually causes heart failure (HF). Systolic and diastolic dysfunction are fundamental features of heart failure. SERCA2a, as a key enzyme for calcium transport in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), affects the process of myocardial relaxation and contraction. H2S can protect the cardiac function against diabetic hearts, however, its mechanisms are unclear. This study found that exogenous H2S affects cellular calcium transport by regulating the H2S/MuRF1/SERCA2a/cardiac contractile pathway. Our results showed that, compared with the db/db mice, exogenous H2S restored the protein expression levels of CSE and SERCA2a, and the activity of SERCA2a, while reducing cytosolic calcium concentrations and MuRF1 expression. We demonstrated that MuRF1 could interact with SERCA2a via co-immunoprecipitation. Using LC-MS/MS protein ubiquitylation analysis, we identified 147 proteins with increased ubiquitination levels, including SERCA2a, in the cardiac tissues of the db/db mice compared with NaHS-treated db/db mice. Our studies further revealed that NaHS administration modified MuRF1 S-sulfhydration and enhanced the activity and expression of SERCA2a. Under hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia, overexpression of the MuRF1-Cys44 mutant plasmid reduced the S-sulfhydration level of MuRF1 and decreased the ubiquitination level of SERCA2a and the intracellular Ca2+ concentration. These findings suggested that H2S modulates SERCA2a ubiquitination through MuRF1 S-sulfhydration of Cys44 to prevent decreased myocardial contractility due to increased cytosolic calcium. The negative reviews written by customers of products and services purchased over the Internet have become a powerful tool in favor of the consumers. Thanks to this, these consumers generally express their complaints about the lack of adequacy between the product description and the product finally received, which may cause a negative effect on the company's image. In the framework of linguistic politeness theories and based on a corpus composed of six hundred negative opinions collected from the Amazon website, the present paper intends to make a contrastive analysis of the politeness strategies between Chinese and Spanish consumers' negative reviews, focusing on the sociocultural perspective and combining qualitative with quantitative methodologies. Results from this study will reveal how the Chinese politeness strategies are oriented towards the construction of a positive image while the Spanish ones are directed towards a more negative image. A two-step laser process consisting of surface treatment and pattern scribing was developed to prepare micro-supercapacitors (MSCs) with high electrochemical performance and structural robustness. First, an ultrathin and uniform graphene oxide (GO) film was deposited onto a copper foil by electrophoretic deposition, after which a laser beam with a wavelength of 450 nm was used to remove the oxygen-containing functional groups and introduce porous structures into the GO film. Subsequently, another laser beam with a wavelength of 1064 nm was used to scribe the film to form finger-patterned electrodes. After being assembled into flexible MSCs, the volume specific capacity of the MSCs reached 1.94 F cm−3, and the power and energy densities reached 4 mW cm−3 and 0.172 mWh cm−3, respectively. After 7000 charge-discharge cycles, the device showed excellent cycling stability with a capacitance retention rate of ∼87.5%. Moreover, the MSCs could be bent into different forms with marginal capacitance loss, confirming their high structural tolerance. Mobile crowdsensing has become a new way to perceive and collect information due to the widespread of smart devices. In this paper, we study the task assignment problem in mobile crowdsensing systems, which is aimed to reducing the average and largest makespan of all tasks. We consider scenarios where task requester needs the help of mobile users for task completion when they encounter directly or through AP cloud (i.e., several APs connected via wired/wireless links) in an opportunistic manner. We describe the mobile crowdsensing system and formulate the problems under study. We first derive the conditional expected encountering time between requester and different users by jointly considering the opportunities via direct encountering and indirect encountering via AP cloud. Then we propose an AP-assisted average makespan sensitive online task assignment (AP-AOTA) algorithm and an AP-assisted largest makespan sensitive online task assignment (AP-LOTA) algorithm. We present detailed design for both algorithms. We deduce the computational complexities of both algorithms to be O(mn2), where m represents the number of tasks and n represent the number of users. The current prognostic long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) signatures for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are still controversial and need to be optimized by systematic bioinformatics analyses with suitable methods and appropriate patients. Therefore, we performed the study to establish a credible lncRNA signature for HCC outcome prediction and explore the related mechanisms. Based on the lncRNA profile and the clinical data of carefully selected HCC patients (n = 164) in TCGA, six of 12727 lncRNAs, MIR22HG, CTC‐297N7.9, CTD‐2139B15.2, RP11‐589N15.2, RP11‐343N15.5, and RP11‐479G22.8 were identified as the independent predictors of patients' overall survival in HCC by sequential univariate Cox and 1000 times Cox LASSO regression with 10‐fold CV, and multivariate Cox analysis with 1000 times bootstrapping. In the Kaplan‐Meier analysis with patients trichotomized by the six‐lncRNA signature, high‐risk patients showed significantly shorter survival than mid‐ and low‐risk patients (log‐rank test P < 0.0001). According to the ROCs, the six‐lncRNA signature showed superior predictive capacity than the two existing four‐lncRNA combinations and the traditional prognostic clinicopathological parameter TNM stage. Furthermore, low MIR22HG and CTC‐297N7.9, but high CTD‐2139B15.2, RP11‐589N15.2, RP11‐343N15.5, and RP11‐479G22.8, were, respectively, demonstrated to be related with the malignant phenotypes of HCC. Functionally, the six lncRNAs were disclosed to involve in the regulation of multiple cell cycle and stress response‐related pathways via mediating transcription regulation and chromatin modification. In conclusion, our study identified a novel six‐lncRNA signature for resectable HCC prognosis prediction and indicated the underlying mechanisms of HCC progression and the potential functions of the six lncRNAs awaiting further elucidation. Considering that the invasive weed optimization (IWO) algorithm and the harmony search (HS) algorithm are inclined to fall into local optima with low convergence precision when they are used to deal with complex function optimization problems, this paper proposes a hybrid algorithm, HS-IWO algorithm, which is combined HS algorithm and IWO algorithm. We introduce strategies such as fixing the number of seeds, reinitializing limit solutions, multi-individual global HS, parameter optimization, etc. In order to make the two algorithms take advantage of their merits, they are mixed organically in this paper. Through tests on some complex functions of benchmark, the experimental results display that the HS-IWO algorithm has the efficiency and robustness of the algorithms. It is an optimization algorithm that is highly effective and stable, especially to be applied to the optimization of complicated functions compared with other intelligent optimization algorithms. Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus that eventually progresses to heart failure. The sarco(endo)plasmic reticulum calcium ATPase 2a (SERCA2a), an important calcium pump in cardiomyocytes, is closely related to myocardial systolic-diastolic function. In mammalian cells, hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S), as a second messenger, antioxidant, and sulfurizing agent, is involved in diverse biological processes. Despite the importance of H 2 S for protection against DCM, the mechanisms remain poorly understood. The aim of the present study was to determine whether H 2 S regulates intracellular calcium homeostasis by acting on SERCA2a to reduce cardiomyocyte apoptosis during DCM. Db/db mice were injected with NaHS for 18 weeks. Neonatal rat cardiomyocytes (NRCMs) were treated with high glucose, palmitate, oleate, and NaHS for 48 h. Compared to the NaHS-treated groups, in vivo and in vitro type 2 diabetic models both showed reduced intracellular H 2 S content, reduced cystathionine γ-lyase (CSE) expression, impaired cardiac function, decreased SERCA2a expression and decreased SERCA2a activity, reduced SUMOylation of SERCA2a, increased sentrin-specific protease 1 (SENP1) expression, and disruption of calcium homeostasis leading to activation of the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway. Compared to the NaHS-treated type 2 diabetes cellular model, overexpression of SENP1 C683A reduced the S-sulfhydration of SENP1, reduced the SUMOylation of SERCA2a, reduced the increased expression and activity of SERCA2a, and induced mitochondrial apoptosis in cardiomyocytes. These results suggested that exogenous H 2 S elevates SENP1 S-sulfhydration to increase SERCA2a SUMOylation, improve myocardial systolic-diastolic function, and decrease cardiomyocyte apoptosis in DCM. While there has been great interest in species characteristics that promote invasiveness, still little is known about the characteristics that distinguish invasive from non‐invasive insects. Using a database on the naturalised distributions of alien insects and expert opinions about their impacts, we identified the world's 100 worst invasive insect species.By comparing species characteristics reported in the literature using a meta‐analysis, between the 100 worst invasive species and related non‐invasive species, we found that invasive insects overall have more pathways of introduction, occur in more habitats, have higher fecundities, higher voltinism, more genes, shorted lifespans and faster development from egg to adult. Some of the differences in species characteristics related to propagule pressures, life‐histories and biotic interactions, conditional on whether the non‐invasive species compared is known to be naturalised somewhere, whether the invasive species is globally distributed, and the climatic region of the species.Synthesis and applications. We show for the first time, using a multi‐species comparative approach, that invasive insects differ in several characteristics from related non‐invasive insects. Our results show that invasive species, such as Spodoptera frugiperda, typically are habitat generalists with a high fecundity, a short lifespan and fast development, whereas the importance of female body size and number of enemies are context dependent. Hybridizing solar energy and coal-fired steam power plant is one of most attractive approaches of cost-efficient solar electricity in the present. By using the concentrated solar heat at around 300 °C to replace the bleed steam of the turbine for preheating feed-water of coal-fired steam cycle, higher solar-to-power efficiency is possibly achieved in that the conversion of solar to power can utilize higher-temperature steam cycle. In this paper, with the aid of exergy methodology, we derive expressions of the conversion of solar energy into power for such kind of solar hybrid plant, especially an explicit correlation is obtained for explaining solar-to-power efficiency. By using the derived expressions, we examine a typical hybrid solar system with 330 MW coal-fired power plant and evaluate thermal performance of solar-to-power. In addition, the influences of key operation parameters on the solar thermal performance are disclosed such as solar irradiation, incident angle and turbine load. The developments of flexible supercapacitors are of great importance to the growing demand of portable electronic products. In the present work, we have successfully prepared bacterial cellulose (BC) membranes coated by polypyrrole (PPy) and copper oxide (CuO) as flexible composite electrodes for supercapacitor applications. The highest electrical conductivity value of 7.4 S cm was achieved using copper acetate aqueous solution with concentration of 1 wt%. Electrochemical measurements proved that the supercapacitors using the PPy/CuO/BC electrodes had a specific capacitance of 601 F g with an energy density of 48.2 Wh kg and a power density of 85.8 W kg at a current density of 0.8 mA cm. Polypyrrole (PPy) and copper sulfide (CuS) have been successfully deposited on bacterial cellulose (BC) membranes to prepare nanofibrous composite electrodes of PPy/CuS/BC for flexible supercapacitor applications. The introduction of CuS remarkably improves the specific capacitance and cycling stability of BC-based electrodes. The specific capacitance of the supercapacitors based on the PPy/CuS/BC electrodes can reach to about 580 F g −1 at a current density of 0.8 mA cm −2 and can retain about 73% of their initial value after 300 cycles, while the PPy/BC-based device could retain only 21.7% after 300 cycles. Bacterial cellulose (BC) has attracted much attention due to its low-cost, high specific surface area and ample porosity. In this work, polypyrrole (PPy) and cobalt sulfide (CoS) have been deposited on BC membranes to prepare the nanofibrous composite electrodes of PPy/CoS/BC with excellent flexibility for supercapacitor application. The introduction of CoS remarkably improves the pseudocapacitance and electrochemical stability of PPy/BC-based electrodes. The specific capacitance of the PPy/CoS/BC-based supercapacitors can reach to about 614 F g −1 at a current density of 0.8 mA cm −2 (0.70 A g −1 ) with maintaining 62.4% of the original value after 300 cycles; while the PPy/BC-based device could retain only 21.7% after 300 cycles. The PPy/CoS/BC-based devices can exhibit an energy density of about 54.5 Wh kg −1 at a power density of 663 W kg −1 . • A hybrid calibration method for structured light field system combining stereo vision method and phase to coordinate mapping method. • The subview of light field system is treated as pinhole model to build auxiliary Fringe Projection Profilometry. • Light ray fitting and plane fitting are implemented to improve the calibration accuracy. A typical structured light field system consists of a light field camera and a pattern projector. By combining Fringe Projection Profilometry and light field imaging technology, the phase distribution characteristics of each position and each angle of the scene under test could be obtained, thus providing more information dimensions, and therefore improving the robustness and dynamic range of three-dimensional (3D) measurement. System calibration is a decisive factor for high-efficiency and high precision measurement. However, the complicated structure and working method make the calibration of structured light field system usually costly and cumbersome. In this paper, we propose a hybrid calibration approach combining the flexibility of the stereo vision method and high precision characteristics of the phase-coordinate mapping method. With regards to the low search accuracy of the basic invasive weed optimization algorithm which is easy to get into local extremum, this paper proposes an adaptive invasive weed optimization (AIWO) algorithm. The algorithm sets the initial step size and the final step size as the adaptive step size to guide the global search of the algorithm, and it is applied to 20 famous benchmark functions for a test, the results of which show that the AIWO algorithm owns better global optimization search capacity, faster convergence speed and higher computation accuracy compared with other advanced algorithms. This study discusses the thermodynamic performance of a solar-hybrid coal-fired power plant that uses solar heat with temperature lower than 300°C to replace the extracted steam from a steam turbine to heat the feed water. Through this process, the steam that was to be extracted can efficiently expand in the steam turbine to generate electricity. The flow rate of steam returning to the turbine retains only a small part of the main stream, allowing the steam turbine to run close to design conditions for all DNI. A solar-only thermal power plant without storage is also discussed to illustrate the advantages of a solar-hybrid coal-fired power plant. The off-design performances of both plants are compared based on the energy-utilization diagram method. The exergy destruction of the solar-hybrid coal-fired power plant is found to be lower than that of the solar-only thermal power plant. The comparison of two plants, which may provide detailed information on internal phenomena, highlights several advantages of the solar-hybrid coal-fired power plant in terms of off-design operation: lower exergy destruction in the solar feed water heater and steam turbine and higher exergy and solar-to-electricity efficiency. Preliminary technological economic performances of both plants are compared. The results obtained in this study indicate that a solar-hybrid coal-fired power plant could achieve better off-design performance and economic performance than a solar-only thermal power plant. Abstract: In the current study, a new solar-driven triple cycle is proposed to allow power generation during low insolation periods. This triple cycle integrates the solar gas-turbine top cycle, the steam Rankine cycle, and the Kalina bottom cycle. During the top cycle of the proposed system, compressed air was heated to 1000 °C or higher in the solar tower receiver. The heated compressed air was then used to drive the gas turbine to generate electricity. A Rankine cycle with a back-pressure steam turbine was utilized to recover waste heat from the gas turbine, thereby generating electricity through the steam turbine. The bottom cycle is the Kalina cycle, which comprises another back-pressure turbine and utilizes ammonia–water mixture as working fluid. After driving the steam Rankine cycle, the flue gas from the gas turbine sequentially heats the ammonia–water mixture to produce power. A new operational strategy was presented to generate electricity during low insolation period without the backup of fossil fuel. In middle insolation periods, the air is heated by the solar field and then directly drives the steam Rankine cycle, bypassing the gas turbine. In low insolation periods, the heated air directly drive the Kalina cycle, bypassing the Brayton cycle and the steam Rankine cycle. The off-design performance was investigated and the irreversibility was disclosed with the aid of the energy-utilization diagram method. A new solar tower thermal power system integrating the intercooled gas turbine top cycle and the Kalina bottoming cycle is proposed in the present paper. The thermodynamic performance of the proposed system is investigated, and the irreversibility of energy conversion is disclosed using the energy–utilization diagram method. On the top cycle of the proposed system, the compressed air after being intercooled is heated at 1000 °C or higher at the solar tower receiver and is used to drive the gas turbine to generate power. The ammonia–water mixture as the working substance of the bottom cycle recovers the waste heat from the gas turbine to generate power. A concise analytical formula of solar-to-electric efficiency of the proposed system is developed. As a result, the peak solar-to-electric efficiency of the proposed system is 27.5% at a gas turbine inlet temperature of 1000 °C under the designed solar direct normal irradiance of 800 W/m2. Compared with a conventional solar power tower plant, the proposed integrated system conserves approximately 69% of consumed water. The results obtained in the current study provide an approach to improve solar-to-electric efficiency and offer a potential to conserve water for solar thermal power plants in arid area. Objective. The study aimed to investigate the correlation between the severity of disease and postoperative neurological recovery in patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) combined with developmental spinal stenosis. Methods. A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 114 CSM patients combined with developmental spinal stenosis admitted to our hospital from June 2019 to June 2020 was performed. All of the patients who underwent posterior cervical unidoor vertebroplasty were divided into the mild, moderate, and severe groups according to the Torg–Pavlov ratio. The clinical data including patients' age, course of spinal cord high signal change, and first onset age were collected. The recovery time, preoperative, and postoperative Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scores of patients in each group were compared with the calculation of the improvement rate. The correlation between the severity of disease and postoperative neurological recovery in CSM patients combined with developmental spinal stenosis was analyzed by Pearson correlation. The factors influencing postoperative neurological recovery were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression analysis. The receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was used to evaluate the value of each influencing factor in predicting postoperative recovery. Results. Significant differences were observed in the proportion of linear hyperintensity changes in the spinal cord, the age of first onset, the course of the disease, and the Torg–Pavlov ratio among the mild, moderate, and severe groups (P < 0. 05). The postoperative recovery time of the moderate and severe groups was significantly higher than that of the mild group, while the preoperative JOA score was significantly lower than that of the mild group. On the other hand, the postoperative recovery time of the severe group was prominently higher than that of the moderate group, whereas the preoperative JOA score was observably lower than that of the moderate group (P < 0. 05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the postoperative recovery time was significantly negatively correlated with the Torg–Pavlov ratio, age at first onset, and disease course (r = −0.359, −0.502, −0.368, P < 0. 05), while it was positively correlated with spinal cord linear high-signal changes (r = 0.641, P < 0. 05). Multifactorial logistic regression analysis revealed that the Torg–Pavlov ratio, age at first onset, and disease course were protective factors, while spinal cord linear high-signal alterations were risk factors affecting the recovery time of postoperative neurological function (P < 0. 05). The area under the curve (AUC) of the Torg–Pavlov ratio, linear hyperintensity changes in the spinal cord, age at first onset, and disease duration in predicting the postoperative neurological recovery time were 0.794, 0.767, 0.772, and 0.802, respectively. The AUC predicted by the combined detection of each factor was 0.876, which was better than the area under the curve of single prediction. Conclusion. Patients with CSM combined with developmental spinal stenosis were characterized by younger age of onset, a short course of the disease, and linear changes in the spinal cord high signal. The degree of developmental spinal stenosis may affect the postoperative recovery time of neurological function in CSM patients but had little effect on postoperative neurological recovery. As a strong climate element on interannual scales, the El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is a major component of global weather and climate change, and it is also closely related to the interannual atmospheric angular momentum (AAM) and length-of-day changes (ΔLOD). Here, we reprocess and compare the interannual variations of AAM, ΔLOD with ENSO indices, with AAM mass and motion terms calculated over land separately from those over the ocean. Three oscillatory components (at ~ 6, ~ 7, ~ 8 years), due to angular momentum changes in Earth's interior, are removed to obtain the interannual ΔLOD solely related to climatic variations. Our results show that the AAM motion term over the ocean contributes the most to interannual ΔLOD, and that the oceanic AAM has larger variability than that over land, especially during the periods of strong ENSO events. After subtracting contributions associated with interior processes, the interannual ΔLOD anomalies corresponding to extreme ENSO events (1982–1983 ~ 0.43, 1997–1998 ~ 0.36, 2015–2016 ~ 0.42 ms) are about half as strong as those found in previous studies (~ 0.91, ~ 0.76, ~ 0.81 ms). Furthermore, we detect an intermediate La Nina event that occurred from August 2020 to May 2021, forcing the interannual ΔLOD to a minimum value of approximately -0.21 ms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Energy metabolic reprogramming (EMR) allows for the rearrangement of a series of metabolic genes and proteins when tumor cells adapt to their microenvironment. EMR is characterized by changes in the metabolic pattern and metabolic intermediates to meet the needs of tumor cells for their malignant proliferation and infiltrative growth. The present study investigated the role of low-dose paclitaxel (PTX) in changing the expression levels of key genes and proteins during glycolysis in CD133+ U251 glioma cells and explored the relevant regulatory mechanisms of action at the molecular level. CD133 immunomagnetic beads were applied to malignant CD133+ U251 glioma cells, which were then divided into a negative control and an experimental group treated with 1, 2, 4 or 8 µM PTX for 72 h. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) was used to measure U251 cell proliferation. RNA and protein were extracted from the malignant glioma cells in all groups to observe changes in the expression levels of key glycolytic enzymes, such as glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1), pyruvate kinase M (PKM) and lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), using reverse transcription-quantitative PCR and western blot assays. Transwell migration assays were performed to quantify the effects of PTX solution on U251 cells. CD133+ U251 glioma cells were isolated successfully. CD1133+ cells had a higher rate of proliferation compared with CD1133- cells. In CD1133+ cells treated with PTX, a dose-dependent reduction in the expression levels of the key glycolytic enzymes GLUT1, PKM and LDHA was observed at both the mRNA and protein levels. PTX solution also inhibited cell migration. Differences between the control and experimental groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Since glycolysis plays an indispensable role in the proliferation and migration of stem cell-like glioma cells, PTX may inhibit tumor cell growth by downregulating the gene and protein expression levels of glycolytic enzymes in CD133+ glioma cells. Pt-Ni alloys have gained widespread attention due to the excellent properties and wide applications. However, the research on the structural, electronic and mechanical properties of disordered Pt 1-x Ni x solid solutions remain unclear and not enough. In this work, the first-principle calculation is used to investigate the structural, mechanical properties, and electronic structure of Pt 1-x Ni x solid solutions, which will be compared to the reference of Pt m Ni n intermetallic compounds. It is found that the atomic interaction of Pt 1-x Ni x solid solutions being weakened as the increase of Ni content, due to the stronger metallic characteristics. The Pt 1-x Ni x solid solutions show stable structure and high solid solubility. The ductile nature of Pt 1-x Ni x solid solutions is reduced, in compared to pure Pt. It is found the ductile nature of Pt 1-x Ni x solid solutions rebounds with a little degree in the range of Ni content (x) from 0.85 to 1.0. On the other hand, the stiffness is enhanced in the whole x range, in compared to pure Pt. The catalytic ability of Pt 1-x Ni x solid solutions is predicted to be enhanced in the range of 0 < x < 0.8. The investigation on electronic structure of Pt 1-x Ni x solid solutions indicates that the variation of above properties is related to the interaction behavior between Pt-5d states and Ni-3d states. By using the first-principle calculations, the underlying mechanism that causes the variation of properties is clarified in this work. Background: Gut microbiota alterations have been implicated in sepsis and related infectious diseases, but the causal relationship and underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Methods: We evaluated the association between gut microbiota composition and sepsis using two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis based on published genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics. Sensitivity analyses were conducted to validate the robustness of the results. Reverse MR analysis and integration of GWAS and expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) data were performed to identify potential genes and therapeutic targets. Results: Our analysis identified 11 causal bacterial taxa associated with sepsis, with increased abundance of six taxa showing positive causal relationships. Ten taxa had causal effects on the 28-day survival outcome of septic patients, with increased abundance of six taxa showing positive associations. Sensitivity analyses confirmed the robustness of these associations. Reverse MR analysis did not provide evidence of reverse causality. Integration of GWAS and eQTL data revealed 76 genes passing the summary data-based Mendelian randomization (SMR) test. Differential expression of these genes was observed between sepsis patients and healthy individuals. These genes represent potential therapeutic targets for sepsis. Molecular docking analysis predicted potential drug-target interactions, further supporting their therapeutic potential. Conclusion: Our study provides insights for the development of personalized treatment strategies for sepsis and offers preliminary candidate targets and drugs for future drug development. Purpose: The introduction of aquatic animals into paddy fields is an effective strategy to improve rice yields and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. However, it remains unclear how rice-animal co-culture systems affect methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions and rice yields, and the comprehensive drivers of management practices and pedo-climatic conditions have not been evaluated. Methods: A meta-analysis of 247 pairwise comparisons was employed to compare the CH4 and N2O emissions and rice yield between rice-animal co-culture (i.e., rice-duck, rice-fish, rice-crayfish, rice-crab, and rice-frog systems) and rice monoculture. Results: The results demonstrated that rice-animal co-culture significantly alleviated CH4 emission by 86.8%, improved rice yield by 49.2%, and had no significant effects on N2O emission relative to rice monoculture. Rice-animal co-culture was found to reduce the global warming potential by 12.9% and the greenhouse gas intensity by 4.9%. Considering rice yield improvement and greenhouse gas mitigation, the rice-duck, rice-fish, and rice-frog modes had great advantages over the rice-crayfish and rice-crab modes. Additionally, the effects of rice-animal co-culture on CH4 and N2O emissions and the rice yield were found to differ with the co-culture mode, aquatic animal density, feeding, nitrogen fertilizer rate, number of nitrogen applications, soil texture, soil pH, air temperature, and precipitation. Conclusion: Rice-animal co-culture systems have the great potential to increase agricultural productivity and alleviate environmental risks, which deserves to be acceptable and sustainable. Flash evaporation of droplets under reduced pressures is versatile in industrial applications for its low energy consumption. More vigorous flash explosions may occur by the subsecond expansion of internal bubbles, leading to inefficient heat transfer and facility damage. In this work, we propose using the aerosol with an inherent low thermal conductivity as the substrate to study the flash evaporation of sessile droplets, which reduces the number of nucleate sites and suppresses the flash explosion, in contrast to the pendant one. We experimentally reveal the effect of ambient pressure, initial droplet temperature, and size on droplet temperature evolution and evaporation rate. A revised diffusion coefficient is proposed based on the experimental droplet lifetime with the aid of D 2 -law, which is utilized in axisymmetric simulations for acquiring the flow field, temperature, and vapor concentration distribution. The analogy between experimental and numerical results has demonstrated the validity of this revision. The interplay of two convection flows aroused by the Marangoni effect and thermal convection is displayed at the early stage of flash evaporation, and the latter is predominant for the rest of evaporation. Propagation properties of photonic crystals with defect are analyzed by the precise integration time domain (PITD) method in the paper. The precise integration is applied to the finite difference time domain in this method. The Yee cell differential discretization technique is used in space, and the precise integration method is adopted in time. The correctness of the method is demonstrated by calculating the one-dimensional photonic crystals with defect. The transmission coefficients of the transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) modes in the two-dimensional photonic crystals with defect are also obtained by the method. Furthermore, the stability, precision and efficiency of the method are discussed. Numerical results reveal that the PITD method is not limited by the Courant stability condition and has higher calculation precision and efficiency, which provides a new and effective analytical method for studying the propagation properties of photonic crystals with defect. Diagnosability is often considered as an important factor for measuring the self-diagnostic ability of network systems. However, classic system-level diagnosis focuses only on processor faults and ignores the objective reality of communication faults. Under real circumstances, missing edges and node failures usually occur simultaneously in multiprocessor systems (called hybrid fault circumstances). Therefore, it is important to study the diagnosability of multiprocessor systems under hybrid fault circumstances. In this paper, we propose several diagnosabilities of interconnection networks with missing edges and faulty nodes. By exploring some important relationships between diagnosability and the minimum degree of a network under hybrid fault circumstances, we present and prove the diagnosability of several classic interconnection networks, including BC (bijective connection) networks, star graphs, folded hypercubes, exchanged hypercubes, exchanged crossed cubes, k-ary n-cubes, bubble-sort star graphs and balanced hypercubes, with missing edges and broken-down nodes under the PMC (Preparata, Metze and Chien) and MM* (Maeng and Malek) models. Fast timing detector is widely used for its picosecond (ps)-level timing resolution, such as Photek-PMT210 with about 50 ps at single-photon electron (SPE) mode. The photomultiplier tube (PMT) and silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) of small areas have the characteristics of fast time response, suitable for the detection of fast and extremely weak light signals, and the transit time spread (TTS) can be on the picosecond scale. The test system is generally divided into two types: one is the direct acquisition of the waveform (DAW), (DAW such as the high-sampling oscilloscope), and the other is an indirect acquisition of the waveform (IDAW). In this article, both DAW and IDAW will be used to carry out the comparative test of ultra-fast photodetectors to complete the calibration of the performance of ultra-fast detectors and the study on time test systems. The upgrade of the BESIII end cap time-of-flight (TOF) detector needs to achieve a ~40-ps time resolution level to provide high-performance reference time for beam testing. Fast silicon photomultiplier tubes (SiPMs) have excellent time characteristics and the transition time spread (TTS) can reach tens of picoseconds. Therefore, SiPMs are selected to replace the PMTs in T0 detectors. In this article, we describe that the time characteristics of a fast SiPM and T0 system were studied using a high-speed real-time oscilloscope. In order to obtain the optimal time resolution, coupling techniques of the plastic scintillators and SiPMs were studied. Background: Glioma is the most primary central nervous system tumor in adults. The 5 year survival rate for glioma patients remains poor, although treatment strategies had improved in the past few decades. The cumulative studies have shown that circular RNA (circRNA) is associated with glioma process, so the purpose of this study is to clarify the function of circPOSTN in glioma. Methods: The expression levels of circPOSTN, miR-361-5p, and targeting protein for Xenopus kinesin-like protein 2 (TPX2) were assessed with real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). The 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazol-3-ium bromide (MTT) and flow cytometry assays were executed to examine proliferation and apoptosis of glioma cells, respectively. Western blot was applied to assess protein expression. The glucose metabolism of glioma cells was analyzed by testing the glucose consumption, lactate production, ATP level, reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and performing Seahorse XF assay. The interaction relationship between miR-361-5p and circPOSTN or TPX2 was analyzed by bioinformatics database and dual-luciferase reporter assay. The influences of circPOSTN silencing in vivo were observed by a xenograft experiment. Results: CircPOSTN was overexpressed in glioma tissues and cells. Absence of circPOSTN in glioma cells promoted apoptosis while impeded proliferation and aerobic glycolysis, which were mitigated by silencing miR-361-5p. What's more, loss-of-functional experiment suggested that knockdown of TPX2 repressed proliferation and aerobic glycolysis, while induced apoptosis in glioma cells. In addition, circPOSTN targetedly regulated TPX2 expression in glioma cells via sponging miR-361-5p. In vivo study revealed that deficiency of circPOSTN restrained tumor growth. Degenerate semiconductors have many unique electronic structures and optical properties which give them the potential to produce localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). Non-stoichiometric Cu2−xS compounds have attracted much interest as photocatalysts. What kind of interesting phenomena will occur when the above aspects are combined? In order to examine this idea, in the present work the LSPR effects of Cu2−xS compounds as degenerate semiconductors and their application in the field of photocatalysis were systematically studied by combining density functional theory calculations, finite-difference time-domain simulations, and experimental preparation and characteristics. It was confirmed that the non-stoichiometric Cu2−xS compound is a typical degenerate semiconductor. The degenerate states of Cu2−xS directly lead to LSPR effects, which can be controlled by the non-stoichiometry and particle size of the Cu2−xS compounds. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of the LSPR effects was evaluated by degrading organic pollutants, revealing that LSPR effects can enable Cu2−xS to achieve photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants driven by full-spectral irradiation. System-level diagnosis has become an important diagnosis method for multiprocessor systems. Among all system-level diagnosis measures, diagnosability is relatively small. The conditional diagnosability constraint that each vertex has at least one good neighbor is relatively conservative when the dimension is far greater than 1, and g-good-neighbor conditional diagnosability does not consider this restriction on faulty vertices. Therefore, a thorough study of diagnosability under the condition that each vertex has at least g good neighbors is an appealing subject. Motivated by R g vertex connectivity, in this paper, we introduce a novel generalized system-level diagnosis measure named R g conditional diagnosability, which assumes that every processor has at least g good neighbors. The popular conditional diagnosability is a special case of R g conditional diagnosability when g = 1. Background and Purpose: Hydrogen sulfide (H2 S) plays important roles as a gasotransmitter in pathologies. Increased expression of the E3 ubiquitin ligase, muscle RING finger-1 (MuRF1), may be involved in diabetic cardiomyopathy. Here we have investigated whether and how exogenous H2 S alleviates cardiac muscle degradation through modifications of MuRF1 S-sulfhydration in db/db mice.Experimental Approach: Neonatal rat cardiomyocytes were treated with high glucose (40 mM), oleate (100 μM), palmitate (400 μM), and NaHS (100 μM) for 72 hr. MuRF1 was silenced with siRNA technology and mutation at Cys44 . Endoplasmic reticulum stress markers, MuRF1 expression, and ubiquitination level were measured. db/db mice were injected with NaHS (39 μmol·kg-1 ) for 20 weeks. Echocardiography, cardiac ultrastructure, cystathionine-γ-lyase, cardiac structure proteins expression, and S-sulfhydration production were measured.Key Results: H2 S levels and cystathionine-γ-lyase protein expression in myocardium were decreased in db/db mice. Exogenous H2 S reversed endoplasmic reticulum stress, including impairment of the function of cardiomyocytes and structural damage in db/db mice. Three-dimensional (3D) porous architecture enables the high exploration of graphene excellent properties, i.e. large surface area and superior conductivity. Additionally, heteroatoms doping can improve the electrocatalytic activity of graphene by creating abundant defective/active sites. To combine the prominent advantages of 3D porous structure and heteroatoms doping, we reported the facile synthesis of 3D phosphorus (P)-doped graphene (3D-PG) and evaluated its potential application in electrochemical H 2 O 2 sensing. As an efficient metal-free electrocatalyst, 3D-PG modified electrode exhibited exceptional sensing performances for sensitive, selective and stable detection of H 2 O 2 , which was ascribed to the synergistic effects of 3D porous structure and P-doping in significantly enhancing the eletrocatalytic activity for H 2 O 2 reduction reaction. More importantly, the 3D-PG based sensor could be used for real-time tracking H 2 O 2 released from living HeLa cells, hence making 3D-PG a potential high-performance electrocatalyst for practical electrochemical sensing. Heteroatom-doped graphene as highly efficient metal-free electrocatalyst is emerging as the most promising alternative to Pt-based electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). However, developing heteroatom-doped graphene with competitive HER activity remains a great challenge. Here, we reported an effective strategy to employ plasma-etching method to create more topological defects on S-doped graphene, and obtained plasma-etched, S-doped graphene exhibited a significantly enhanced HER activity with an overpotential of 178 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm −2 . It was proved that the synergetic coupling between S-doping and plasma-induced topological defects contributed to the excellent HER performance. We further showed that the combination of high S-doping level with thiophene-S-rich species and appropriate amount of topological defects could maximize the HER activity. The successful combination of plasma-assisted defect engineering and heteroatom-doping in this work may open up a new pathway for developing highly efficient graphene-based metal-free catalysts toward HER. Exploring highly active, durable and low-cost catalysts toward hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) holds a key to clean energy technologies. Heteroatoms-doped graphene-based materials are emerging as the most promising metal-free HER catalysts, but their catalytic activity remains largely unexplored. Herein, by rationally engineering the macroscopic architecture of graphene and its chemical/defective structures, we developed a three-dimensional (3D), N-doped, plasma-etched graphene (3DNG-P) as a highly active metal-free HER catalyst. The obtained 3DNG-P combined the merits of freestanding 3D porous architecture, high-level N-doping and plasma-induced enriched defects, resulting in a highly enhanced HER activity with a low overpotential of 128 mV at 10 mA cm −2 in acidic medium. Furthermore, the 3DNG-P displayed a favorable HER activity and stability over a wide pH range. Aiming at the problems of sulfamethoxazole (SMX), such as large amount of usage, high degradation difficulty and low removal efficiency of conventional sewage treatment technology, commercial lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) was employed as heterogeneous catalyst to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for SMX degradation in this study. Various characterization methods were applied to investigate the morphology and physicochemical properties of LCO catalysts. Then, complete removal of SMX (2.5 mg/L) was attained within 30 min, the dissolution of cobalt ion was less than 0.1 mg/L, and the removal rate of SMX could still be maintained at 90% after five consecutive cycles, revealing that LCO had outstanding catalytic performance, excellent electron transfer rate, wide operating pH range and good stability. The susceptibility of inorganic anions, diverse water bodies and distinct contaminants to LCO/PMS system was investigated to explore its realistic application. Further exploration demonstrated that the reactive species generated on SMX degradation were sulfate radical (SO 4 •–) and hydroxyl radical (•OH), in which SO 4 •– performed a leading role. Integrated with XPS analysis, it was proposed that the Co3+/Co2+ redox companions were the active sites for activating PMS. Ltd.(NNVT) supplied 15,000 pieces of 20-inch Microchannel plate photomultiplier tubes (MCP-PMTs) with high detective efficiency and light detection coverage for Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) experiment for neutrino detection. The uniformity of the large-area PMT is a very important parameters, it directly affects the detective efficiency when the light illuminates on the PMT photocathode. The performances including the uniformity of the MCP-PMTs should be tested carefully before transaction and transportation in NNVT. Therefore a facility with high test efficiency and high automation is necessary to be designed and constructed to monitor the uniformity of 20-inch MCP-PMTs. Background: To compare the stability of sacroiliac joint disruption fixed with three kinds of internal fixation using both biomechanical test and finite element analysis. Methods: Five embalmed specimens of an adult were used. The symphysis pubis rupture and left sacroiliac joint disruption were created. The symphysis pubis was stabilized with a five-hole plate. The sacroiliac joint disruption was fixed with three kinds of internal fixation in a randomized design. Displacements of the whole specimen and shifts in the gap were recorded. Three-dimensional finite element models of the pelvis, the pelvis with symphysis pubis rupture and left sacroiliac joint disruption, and three kinds of internal fixation techniques were created and analyzed. Results: Under the vertical load, the displacements and shifts in the gap of the pelvis fixed with minimally invasive adjustable plate (MIAP) combined with one iliosacral (IS) screw were the smallest, and the average displacements of the pelvis fixed with an anterior plate were the largest one. The differences among them were significant. In finite element analysis and MIAP combined with one IS screw fixation showed relatively best fixation stability and lowest risks of implant failure than two IS screws fixation and anterior plate fixation. Conclusion: The stability of sacroiliac joint disruption fixed with MIAP combined with one IS screw is better than that fixed with two IS screws and anterior plate under vertical load.
